okay, I thiiiink these are the same person? Probably? Unclear. I'll answer both here, for clarity.

1 - No, I don't talk about potty training stuff on my main, not anymore. I moved those posts here a couple of years ago. The only content that's there are maybe some reblogs from other regressors.

2 - Okay, first of all, age regressors did NOT come up with those terms, nor do they have exclusive rights to use them. Those terms have been used by people for, like, ever. Parents calling their kids "little ones", family members calling out "littles, come over here!" to refer to any younger members, the obvious origins of "mom" and "dad" and their variants, and "caregivers" being tied to both people who care for babies, children, the elderly, and those with disabilities.

If anything, age players have more rights to the terms "littles" and "caregiver" in the context that we're using on this site. They're the ones who originated/popularized them. I know this because I was here, on this site, in 2016, when age regressors decided to split off from the sfw age play community, and there was legitimately tons of discourse about who had the "right" to those terms.

(who here remembers the chire and the other handful of communities that attempted to exclude anyone who liked the parental nicknames and the usage of the word "little" in their regression? I do. god, do I remember. this is the main reason that a lot of old regression blogs specify that they're "community free regression")

Ageplay and age regression, like it or not, was cut from the same cloth - a cloth made out of a gradient from black to white, with shades of grey all in between. Like a baby blanket! Black/ageplay and ABDL on one side, white/agere on the other, with you and me and my friends and mutuals somewhere in the middle, all spread out across!

Plenty of adults don't think anyone should return to the comfort of childhood things, and look at the whole blanket with scorn and disgust. Cutting off more and more of the blanket, because you think that my grey isn't as palatable as your grey, is not going to change these people's minds. I don’t think any non-gc or tra lib gives a fuck about what im about to say, even considering that im going to tag the cr fandom.

I’m only adding one radfem tag because this post is centered around another topic.

i feel like ever since the trans population has tripled, it hasn’t been the same. Before any of you cucks think im talking about the idea of being trans, im also talking about the community behind it. Their ideas within the concept of it.

the concept of being ‘transgender’ was built on the foundation of sexist stereotypes; although the origins had a different purpose in ancient societies (varying ofcourse), it was ultimately used as a weapon to oppress women in the modern times, the goal was to make a person ‘feel’ like a male or female and now trillions of micro labels and gender identities are used to describe people who feel slightly above the normal and they’re treated as if they’re some kind of clothes that you put on instead of an identity.

Because of this, most people don’t even know what a woman or a lesbian is. They try to replace the definition of something that was exclusive to one sex to cater to the whims of men.

Ever since last year, most my friends that weren’t into that shit now identify as trans and I saw a dramatic shift in their personality. Most if not all of them were autistic women that did not conform of societal standards of what a ‘woman’ is. Some people may argue it’s because of how lightly a transgender identity is perceived. But on my end, I think it also has to do with the lack of representation of quirky female characters in media.

likely I would’ve fit into one of those micro labels or some shit like that but I was lucky enough to discover characters and things that I aligned with so I didn’t have to deal with shitty gender dysphoria (alongside with my very obvious mental issues and me being neurodivergent myself)

When I look at the older cookie run art (2016-2021), or even from eastern countries (eastern countries aren’t really politically correct) I could truly see the characters in the scene. There is passion behind it. The artists are either older or they know what they’re doing. And it doesn’t seem like an overload

when I see newer cookie run ‘fanart’ esp when there’s a lot of people within the western community, I don’t see a lot of what the characters truly are. All I see is their interpretation of what their character would look like if it was an unoriginal copy of a 14 year old gendie’s oc. Alongside with that, they add a thousand headcanons and sexualities, making the character unrecognizable. And if that wasn’t the cherry on top, they’re so obsessed with lgbtq and race stuff (no im not a bigot, don’t even try to fucking label me as one im a bisexual woc ) that’s all what they talk about besides stupid discourse topics. Oh, and also changing a dough color is ‘racist’ (they’re fucking COOKIES. Their dough color was based off of their ingredients and complimentary colors, even the devs had to explain and yet the western community still bitches about it like whiny 5 year olds. They come in all colors, not just fucking skintones.)

I think the characters and ships of the community would be much more likable for me if it wasn’t infiltrated by the discourse gang.

I think instead of giving drugs and cosmetic surgery to children, we should get deeper into the psychology of why there’s a lot of trans people on the rise. Don’t you think it’s weird that it has to be an ‘urgency’ to get surgery or children will kts? Maybe instead of thinking it as a life or death situation, think of how most of these people are mentally ill compared to the other lgbtq demographics.

I probably sound like a fucking dick here and im going to get a lot of hateful notes and messages, but honestly.. idgaf

Before you water this down to ‘trans people bad’ im just highlighting the problems of their community and its immense effect on teens my age (13-15 age range im not telling you) before dickriding the movement, I think *again* we should get deeper into the psychology of these people, thank you for reading.

like first of all, i feel like at this point ive given up on the development of stranger things making sense and im fully just here to watch my favs and have them say funny lines and swing baseball bats at supernatural monsters. like if you’re watching stranger things for the character development… power to you i guess, but i feel like you’re just going to be disappointed lol. like for me, i love steve and nancy separately and i love them together. always have. so i just like to see them :) i just think they’re neat

but also like! i still think stancy is good anyway!!! like would it really be a step back? i mean yeah they broke up, but my thinking is, they broke up in large part because of nancys guilt over barb and her externalizing a lot of that guilt onto her relationship with steve, which honestly wasn’t fair to either of them! @ofswordsandpens wrote a really nice post about it here — basically yes, of course the only person who can truly absolve nancy of her guilt over barb is *nancy herself* but her repairing her relationship with steve is also a pretty valid narrative way for her to move forward as well! especially since s4 showed that she’s still troubled by it!

i mean. we didnt see it on screen but steve and nancy started dating presumably because… they liked each other? and it was everything that happened with the upside down that got in the way of that! so for her to be able to separate all the upside down stuff from that relationship and just be comfortable with liking steve as a person again? personally i don’t feel like that would be a regression for her. honestly i think it would be a step *forward* for her to be able to really come to terms with her feelings surrounding barb, steve, and everything else she’s faced since s1 began. and steve too! who has learned not to minimize the problems and not pretend it isn’t happening like he did before. yes they’ve both changed a lot from who they were at the start of the show, but they’ve developed in a way that their reunion honestly makes sense to me. the nancy and steve of s1 and s2 could never have gotten here. but the nancy and steve of s4 CAN!

Wanted to ask about beetlelyds, sorry, I thought it was technically cannon? Like in the old comics after the show ended she grew up and married him. first of all the biggest issue faced in the whole what is and is not canon debate is the fact that there are three (four if you count the limited comics run) publicized iterations of my media

i will go over each very briefly just kidding this is going to a long answer so i will spare the dashboard with a readmore

there is the movie which im sure you dont need me to explain the plot since youre an old school fan but basically the climax is that yes beetlejuice does go for the marriage angle in exchange for stopping the exorcism of adam and barbara and his motive for this is so that he can cause as much chaos as he wants on the mortal coil but his plan is thwarted when barbara rides a sandworm into the house which promptly eats beetlejuice sending him to bureaucratic death limbo

the end of the movie features the deetz and the maitlands happily living together with lydia havign a new appreciation for her situation and beetlejuice gets his head made real small which is very funny haha 

so no in the movie they are not canon editors note the actress who played lydia winona ryder was a teenager while filming the movie she turned 17 the year it released 

the next is the cartoon which i will admit has the most grounds for being considered canon but in the end the show is about a middle schooler and her best friend who is a ghost which in itself is a pretty iffy gray area sort of thing but for a childrens cartoon to work a friendship is better than the obvious enemy status they held in the movie

anyway in the cartoon they are potrayed to be very close friends with lydia being the person beetlejuice cares about the most and honestly if you were to watch it with no prior knowledge of the media and if you ignored their massive and obvious age difference than yeah you probably would read it as a romantic relationship 

however lydia is a middle schooler and that is simply immoral

there have been writers for the cartoon who have been credited to say that a relationship is what they were trying to invoke but for obvious reasons they couldnt exactly move forward with that angle with them establishing that lydia is a child in middle school and a fully grown adult man dating a child who is in middle school is immoral and also illegal in the united states and in canada 

this isnt a good argument for whether or not something is canon and i will tell you why with one simple name and that is luke weber

if you dont know who luke weber is he was a storyboard artist on the cartoon steven universe he is known for making a lot of self ship artwork of him and the character pearl

he worked on the show isnt his material canon no of course it isnt it wasnt put in the actual publication and also if memory serves he was eventually asked to leave the project after he drew art of the shows creator giving him permission to date pearl and calling them her otp and a lot of fans hated this because the most generally accepted interpretation of pearls character is that she is sapphic so a lot of people took issue however that again is just a widely perceived headcanon it is never stated what her actual sexuality is no one in that show is because it isnt a show about that its about wait im getting off topic sorry

what im saying is what can truly be considered canon is what you see on the screen and with the cartoon they are definitely the most friendly with each other and that is why so many people in the beetlebabe shipping community take so much stock in the cartoon because it is the easiest to read the relationship between the mas romantic although that is not what the show actually provides in black and white terms

interpretation does not equal canon and in this case no matter what anyone says the fact remains that in the cartoon itself they are friends good friends yes but friends all the same

it is definitely not a show about a grown man grooming an adult and if it were you definitely shouldn’t be stanning it the extreme because grooming a minor is wrong and it is apparently a problem in the fandom

anyway if the cartoon and the movie are both products of their time and there was more leniency on content bear in mind this was the same era as notorious animation powerhouse and known predator john k who was a showrunner on ren and stimpy and he maintained a relationship with a teenager which was an open secret that nobody really took issue with because in that time being a woman in the animation industry was tricky business and your career could be ended easily if you rejected advances luckily time has moved forward and the animation industry although still full of problems of a similar nature at least people are getting called out and punished for it

as for comics i havent been able to find good scans of them and im not willing to purchase them but in my search i never found anything about the two of them ever being married in the cartoon again because she is a child i did find a cover where he appears to be getting married and hes asking lydia to get him out of it but im not sure where the comic actually goes all i know is she is standing off to the side shrugging and looking like she doesnt really care

anyway that brings us to the musical which is set in the modern day 

in the original libretto lydia is described as thirteen but since they got an actress who was older in the updated librettos she is listed as 15 and the story is pretty similar to the movie the young girl befriends ghosts and they try to scare her family out etc etc

the major difference between the film and the musical are that lydia and beetlejuice are more like friends like in the cartoon 

she summons him to help scare after the maitlands attempt doesnt really work so he shows up and they have fun terrorizing people together however she drops him for the opportunity to perhaps get her mom back but when no one will help she goes back to beetlejuice who tricks her into almost exorcising barbara

she agrees to marry him in order to stop the exorcism and he only wants to get married so he can be alive again and cause problems on the mortal coil like in the movie in the musical he states several times its a green card thing whihc obviously doesnt make it okay but still

anyway lydia tricks him and runs off into the underworld before the wedding can happen blah blah blah she goes back blah blah and she agrees to go through with the wedding to save her friends and family with a plan to make him go away for good

theres a very tongue and cheek song called creepy old guy which points out how wrong the whole thing is but everyone is going along with it in a very comedic matter and it includes the line 

i cant believe some cultures think this kind of things alright

basically saying yeah this is very very wrong anyway they do get married and beeltjeuice is alive for like 6 seconds before lydia stabs him to death with bad art and he dies thus nullifying the marriage because death do you part etc

so in the musical no at the end of the show they are not canon because he is dead their marriage is nullified and they go their separate ways

anyway sorry about that i just need to make it very clear that these three properties are all very distinct from each other and basically all three are indeed canon since they are publicized material and arguing the validity of which one is pointless editors note all actresses who played with the exception of dana steingold were minors for the majority of their runs as lydia with sophia ann caruso the originator of the role turning 18 during the run and dana being in her late twenties presley ryan however was a minor the whole time and still is one

tldr no they aren’t canon but to the credit of some people in this fandom their interpretation isnt too far of a stretch thanks to the era and some of the writers wishing to imply a relationship between an adult and a child

i also need to address how this is all a big deal and i suggest you take a peak through my discourse tag and check out @leedia‘s blog to see some of the more harmful things done by beetlebabe shippers

the beetlejuice fandom is home to many minors after the musical came out since musical fandom is vast and the ages of its members varies and normalizing pedophilia is harmful to them not to mention the people who have been effected by sexual harassment at the hands of adults

both sides have victims of csa but one side continues to perpetuate the cycle by showing time and time again that this behavior is normal and easily romanticized in the name of coping and literally anyone who has ever been to a good and credible therapist could tell you that posting cp even if it is simulated cp isnt a really good way to cope and you can get mad at me for saying that its totally fine but and im going to remove my character veil here for just a second as a csa survivor myself i think its harmful to not only myself but many others ok the veil is back down

tldr again there is a lot of bullying and harassment going on with both sides having their own issues but there is one side whos issues run a bit deeper in my humble opinion

End ID.] answer: yes, it is. but im gonna take a while to write this and look up a summary of arachnids in the uk (which i dont wanna watch because i heard its Not Good and you dont have to watch every episode of doctor who to be a fan, ok?) i sometimes talk about politics on tumblr, but rarely do i make political posts--mainly because, as my sidebar bio says, i’m a teenager. i don’t really have a degree in politics, and as much as i have been trying to read up on political stuff, its kinda hard when i dont have access to a college professor to guide me along. still, some things about this episode stood out to me, especially because it’s stuff i’ve noticed in a lot of media. i’m not even sure where i stand politically, but i absolutely love media commentary, and i have so many thoughts i feel like i never get to put out there when im watching movies and tv. obviously, spoilers under the cut (and it probably won’t actually be 500 words. probably.) i’m also gonna assume you’ve seen this episode, because i don’t wanna recap it. if you haven’t, go watch it! tbh, it’s well worth it (my favorite chibs era episode, just ahead of the haunting of villa diodati and demons of the punjab)

Now, um, obviously this episode is political. It’s the in-your-face without down-your-throat type of political we know and love. Still, media can be a direct allegory that wouldn’t bother the average viewer while still having politics that are good, bad, or somewhere in the middle (I mean this extremely subjectively). First, I’d like to address the elephant in the room:

While a Doctor Who festive special would normally film in the summer, this time the episode was filmed well ahead in winter 2019, over a year before it was due to be broadcast in a bid to include it within filming for series 12 (which aired from January to March) and give cast a longer break.

I’ve noticed some people pointing out that the episode references the protests that happened this summer. Honestly, I’d love it if that was the intention behind the episode, because then maybe Chris Chibnall’s team really does have a TARDIS, and we can all just time travel out of this mess.

End ID.] However, the protests from this summer and the episode itself do not exist inside a bubble. Police brutality did not come into existence this summer, and it did not end with the autumn equinox. The episode, while featuring a small-scale protest that was eerily reminiscent of the large BLM protests this year, chooses to focus instead on one of the roots of the issue: somehow, capitalism.

I can’t say how purposeful the anti-capitalist messaging in the episode was. Obviously, Jack Robertson is meant to be an American capitalist caricature. Not to mention, Doctor Who is a family-friendly show: you can’t get too overt with what can be considered “radical” coding. Nonetheless, the episode tackles the connection between policing and money, and thus inherently comments on capitalism. 

The Dalek itself only exists to support the police force because Prime Minister Patterson knows that the idea of security will appeal to her constituency. Simultaneously, it could not exist if Robertson didn’t know just how profitable it would be. As they preach security, they create chaos. More importantly, the security they preach is one that bases itself on profit--similar to the weapons of the policeforce, and the prison industrial complex. As a result, the “security” inevitably fails.

End ID.] Unfortunately, while the show presents a clear stance against money in policing, there is never any direct call to action. The political allegory may be straightforward and obvious, but the solution at the end is just to end the Daleks, and watch as Robertson announces his run for President (which, by the way, is very reminiscent of Trump, who does exist in-universe, so that’s weird). Regardless of all that, why am I even talking about this? Well, on the one hand, I love talking about these sorts of things. On the other hand, this post has started to sound like nothing but a rant with some pictures. Earlier, I said that this was something I noticed in a lot of media. For instance, I think of “The Boys,” with its obvious anti-capitalist and anti-military industrial complex messaging. At the same time, the show offers no solutions. Both are afraid of the obvious solution to capitalism: replacing it. To be clear, I say this as a person who is unsure about capitalism. I don’t know where I stand. Like I said, I’m a teenager. However, these shows can’t seem to make a decision either, when they're made by big companies with big budgets and professional adults. Politics in popular media tends to fit perfectly with the popular politics of the time, given that media must do so in order to make profit. Hence, similar to the media we consume, so many individuals seem to recognize that there’s something off with the hand money has in politics, and war, and security, yet no one seems to look for solutions.  Personally, I love talking about politics in the media, and analyzing media in general, because it’s the best way for me to communicate my internal thoughts. Meanwhile, I don’t even know my own internal thoughts. This post’s very existence is ironic. I had said in a very awful post that I wanted to write this when the tag was still trending, because I, in part, want someone else to do the thinking for me. I want people to see this and go, “well, okay, here’s where you’re wrong,” or, “here’s what we do about it.” Do I then have a responsibility to know what I’m talking about? Is the discourse all that matters? Does the media as a whole have to propel revolutionary ideas to get them into the social conscience, or can it just open up discussion?  There is, of course, irony in shows that could only exist in a capitalist world degrading aspects of that system. But no one, not even me, is exempt from the fact that these ideas do not exist in a bubble. The show’s protests look eerily familiar because, as this summer has proven, those protests are profitable (see literally every ad from companies that own sweatshops talking about how much they care about races they don’t represent in their board of directors). At the same time, I exist in that capitalist world, and my opinions have been formed via the capitalist media I was raised with. tl;dr: i know literally nothing. im sure of literally nothing. help, someone tell me about the politics of doctor who. wow, this was a really sad tl;dr, i normally make a shitty joke here. um, uh, EXTERMINATE

i know there are people who advocate for censoring in fanworks (although honestly, theyre a WAY smaller bunch than yall like to pretend), but over time this discussion (which is valid and important, because we should talk about art and heavy topics and how they intertwine) has become basically an excuse for ppl to think themselves, or their fandoms, above criticism

I've never met anyone who advocates for fanworks censoring, but over the last year, in the same fandom, Ive seen ppl call someone a bully for mentioning on their blog that a particular fic/author (without mentioning who the author was or giving any information that would make that obvious) bothered her because they wrote a latina character in a racist light; Ive seen people be cut off completely by previous friends for saying (nicely and upon being asked) that they didnt care for a ship said friend was writing about; Ive seen a person be kicked out of a fandom server for saying that they dont like a specific ship, without previous warning. not that it was wrong, not that it was disgusting, not that it should be censored. that they didnt like it. Ive seen any calling out within that fandom of racist or otherwise problematic tropes and works be shut down and regarded as "bullying" or "being the purity police". I've been assumed to be in favor of censoring because i complain on my fucking personal blog, with tags, while not advocating for shit, about things that i dont like within that fandom. Ive been assumed to hate a particular ship that i ship for pointing out that its fandom has a tendency to be acephobic. Ive seen people go out of their way to write untagged triggering content just to "make antis mad". I've gotten hate anons for posting about disliking certain characters (and even for making jokes about characters that i actually like), despite the fact that whenever i complain about that i always tag it as both hate for the specific character and a general tag for when im complaining about stuff, plus another tag for discourse shit, and i never ever put it on the general fandom or that character's tag or any other tag that isnt the ones previously mentioned. and that's all within the year, in the same fandom

and like its funny because the "anti-anti" crowd likes to say that ppl who criticize racist tropes and similar stuff (whom they all strawman as "antis" who "want censorship") dont know anything about Nuance and dont understand that you can mention problematic topics without being problematic. but they're the ones who suddenly decided that any and all criticism or debate within fandom means wanting censorship, banning of content, and bullying

and it's so clear and obvious that this has become simply an excuse to put yourself and the things you consume above criticism and to shut down, well, minorities as a whole, but notably people of color, who are upset by the bullshit we see in fandom every minute of every day, and that directly affects us and our mental health. and to make entitled ass people act like everyone must like everything they like, every ship and character and trope, and try to get people who dont (again, not even people who think it's problematic, just people who dont like it) to be bashed and excluded, all under the excuse of some sort of anti censorship activism

and it's fucking tiring and ridiculous and frankly disrespectful of a discussion that is extremely important, but that has just become a go-to excuse for spoiled ass fans to think themselves and the things they like as supreme and undeserving of criticism or even dislike of any kind

We all were freaking out over something that happened in 2016…

…okay I can’t even pretend to take that seriously, people. Bringing up discourse over ancient history has never been a good look for anyone. They did state that it was getting attention now, however, and yet despite dedicated efforts to track it down, it hasn’t surfaced. As of this moment there is no proof it exists. I’ve been in the fandom since 2015 and have seen it all, but this doesn’t ring any bells for me either.

However, the real problem is not “Yuu is a molester and/or pervert,” which is either an overblown exaggeration or doesn’t exist, but how this connects to expressions of sexuality in headcanons and fiction. We have no “X character is Y sexuality!” evidence to point to (as with most fictional characters), so it’s up to the imagination of the writer and how they want to fill in that dimension of a character’s life (from serious fanfic to more casual shitposts).

Unless you headcanon a character as being part of the ace spectrum, usually you want to address sexuality at some point. A character expressing their sexuality with another character consensually does not make them a molester—that seems obvious, right? A molester by definition is someone who sexually assaults or abuses someone, or more colloquially one who harasses someone in a persistent/aggressive manner.

It stands to reason that the consensual expression of sexual attraction towards someone else, then, is not a crime nor an act of molestation. What form that expression takes is individual to different characters and couples—and in the domain of fanfiction, where multiple authors handle the same characters, no one’s interpretation will be exactly the same. Which isn’t a bad thing! It gives everyone their own flair and helps fandom thrive.

OP themselves has written posts of Yuu wanting Mika to “destroy his ass” or Mika groping him in front of his squad, which is fine but, again, why criticize one thing and then like the other?

Even if OP said these were shitposts, the ones of Yuu looking at Mika’s ass were too. They should be taken under the same criteria.

If someone popular in the tumblr fandom was writing Yuu as an actual molester, I would have totally seen it. In fact neither I nor any of my friends saw it either! So this discourse can’t be about that.

Afterwards, OP acted as if the people who questioned where they saw the headcanon were defending the idea of Yuu molesting Mika or treating them unfairly “despite they were just talking about something important that was happening in the fandom”. When really it wasn’t happening. They never showed any proof and no one else saw anything.

No one said they enjoyed the idea of Yuu molesting Mika, and the part that is frustrating is that many people believed it and someone even wrote an “explanation” about how people want to ship ferimika but knowing it’s wrong they resort to write Yuu with Ferid’s personality, which never happened either! People are too quick to “defend Yuu” to realize no one is doing this in reality.

“But there are fics of Yuu raping Mika!”

Yeah, but I haven’t seen any in like two years and there are three times as many fics of Mika raping Yuu. Let’s not even talk about the doujins because I’m already grossed out.

Honestly, I think this problem is about something entirely different, based on something OP said:

“Making Yuu sound creepy and perverted and obsessed with Mika’s ass and nothing else is a little out of character for him.“

And I think that’s the origin. 

In truth, no one wrote Yuu as “obsessed with Mika’s ass and nothing else”, but there’s occasional posts of Yuu looking at Mika under a sexual light or wanting to touch him, so my guess is that this what bothered OP and brought such a dramatic issue.

How is looking at someone’s ass and raping them correlated?

I believe OP just brought the “people like the headcanon of Yuu molesting Mika” discourse to bring light upon something they didn’t like. They also said:

“Stop trying to make Yuu a sex-craved idiot. Since when has he ever desired sex?”

The idea of Yuu wanting Mika sexually is harmless and I fail to see the correlation with sexual assault.

The main reason I believe this is the case is because I didn’t find out about this discourse via that person’s blog.

I found out because I received an anon ask telling me “Yuu is like Ferid now, I see”. As you can imagine, I was quite startled, so I asked what they meant and someone sent me this:

Later on I was done with this discourse so I deleted both, but basically this is how I found out about the issue.

Clearly, I had no idea where it came from and started asking people for an explanation. Eventually, someone told me about a post they saw written by the one who originated this discourse and I understood.

Anon must have seen my old post I reblogged recently where Yuu said “only I can touch Mika like this” (in reference to Shinoa trying to touch fem!Mika) and, having read OP’s discourse of “people write Yuu as a pervert like Ferid” they decided to send me that…

But clearly my post was a funny scenario, and Yuu didn’t mean he can touch Mika without his consent but rather that only he can touch him, not Shinoa.

However, it shows the stretch of the discourse. Relating Yuu wanting to touch Mika with Yuu literally molesting him.

In conclusion: think critically about the things you read, fellas. This reminds me of 2016 when people said people were hating on Shinoa and everyone proceeded to write positivity posts about her and hating on the “haters”. However, if someone actually took the time to search for said hate, they’d find none. I was one of the dorks who believed the discourse, until one day I thought “hey, how come I saw nothing? I’m on this tag 24/7″. That’s when it hit me.

1. ARADIA like ok first panel she was in i saw her and i was like “telekinesis? kinda spooky?? oh shit my TYPE” and that was it. it helps that she turned out to be objectively the best homestuck character as well.

1. ok in all honesty, sollux. sollux is tied with aradia for my all time favorite homestuck character, but the only reason i ever paid any attention to him was because i happened to have some weird 3D sunglasses, and that meant he was the first character I was able to cosplay easily. but obviously if you pay enough attention to him you realize hes a fantastic boy. like hes a fatalistic douche and a massive weenie but he cares about his friends so much?? like to the point of repeated, kinda horrifying self-sacrifice? and he was 13!!! its so fucked up but he just is love his friends THAT MUCH and now I’m sobbing.

2. shou. it’s 100% because i watched the anime first, and he’s barely in it at all, so it’s hard to get a read on him from that. but obviously after reading the manga im like oh hes just a young chaos gay. a sweet baby boy who doesnt know shit except how to exploit psychic powers for fun and profit (and also revolution against his shitty dad.)

3. ed tbh? hes such a shit boy. like tbh i found him kind of annoying and unlikable at first? but he’s the protag, so you KNOW he’s gotta get that good good character development throughout the series, and he does! hes a lot more complex than he seems at first and even if he’s largely STUPID about his interpersonal relationships, that’s just because he’s, y’know, a literal child, and doesn’t mean he doesn’t care a whole fucking lot about his family/friends.

1. i had a phase toward the beginning of my time in the fandom where i really really liked eridan. i don’t like... DISLIKE him now or anything, but i just... don’t really care about him all that much anymore?

2. this is hard because my love for most mp100 characters has only grown over time. i guess mezato? again i dont DISLIKE her, i kinda thought she’d have more to her character than just manipulating mob for her own interests, but then she just... didn’t, really? which was disappointing, i thought there was more potential there.

3. most of the homunculi? tbh? they all seemed really interesting and honestly opening with greed’s arc the way they did I thought they’d all get more development than they did. like... envy got some, sort of, and pride/wrath kinda did too, but like. not enough to be satisfying. and then lust gluttony and sloth were just kinda... there? idk i understand WHY they didn’t all get individual arcs because like thatd be a mess but the fact that they didnt is why my interest in them kind of dwindled off over time.
