au where bill realizes he's losing in the weirdmageddon and uses his newfound control over time to place himself in the twin's lives wayyyyy before they get to gravity falls in order to manipulate them into trusting him
#cyber.com#billdip#<- not mentioned above but that's where this au is headed#like i'm imaging Bill placing himself in the twins dreams about a year before they go to gravity falls--#he makes dipper dream about solving mysteries and Being A Hero and being super important and well recognized. and bill places himself in th#dreams as the wised old mentor. he's human. in his 40s. an Adventurer. and oh no! the world is going to end! and Dipper is the ONLY person#in the entire WORLD! that could possibly help him!#so dipper dreams a lot about being Needed and being the only person who could help. because he's Special.#bill makes mabel dream about being Needed and Special too--he just goes about it a different way.#she dreams about being famous and rich and in magazines. about throwing gigantic parties and having everyone fawn over her#and sometimes something will go Wrong. she'll be at a press conference or a party or something. and there's a problem only she could help w#her brother shows up or a fan or A Scientist or Bill. & she helps save the world or solve the mystery & is then bombarded with praise#wow look at mabel she's so cool and pretty and funny and brave but she's also super humble and down to earth!#i wish i could be with her/be her friend/be her. etc etc#bill doesn't put himself in mabel's dreams much (as himself anyway) bc she's WAY more skeptical than dipper is. (imo at least)#ANYWAY! the twins get to gravity falls and meet. Bill. (human. in his 40s. an Adventurer) & Bill makes something up about how it's Destiny#that brought them all together and clearly they all need to work together to Solve The Mystery of Gravity Falls#and mabel is on board bc it's exciting but she's not obsessed w it the way dipper is. it's the only thing he ever wants to think about#and ofc. bill sees this and goes wow! :) you are so young and SO easy to manipulate :) and then they fuck about it.#there's more stuff i've been thinking about in regards 2 this au. but it's pretty late. so i'll leave it here. ok bye <3

Zenos, who is relying on vague advice about "love languages" after hearing his boyfriend mention a cheesy obscure eroge a single time while he was in the room
#Eorzea Academy#Academia Eorzea#Zenos yae Galvus#Au Ra Xaela#zenoswol#wolzenos#codysenshiart#Eorzea Academy ArkheZenos is just various antics with Zenos parroting relationship advice extremely literally#because he's of the mind that intimate activities don't make sense to dwell on when they physically excite each other enough in battle#but he does think it's fair to compromise somehow since Arkhe drops everything to fight him all the time so he sought the advice#he'll not say a single word to Arkhe when he listens to what Arkhe expresses interest in and manages to get the best editions of it all#the shiniest and newest and rarest that're impossible to find#and he never once reveals how he gets the stuff because it's not important to him#he was told you can give gifts to your special someone to show your appreciation of them and he's doing just that#and yes he gets 99% of the stuff in super shady ways this is Zenos we're talking about he'd do whatever he wanted to get the stuff#his whole thing when expressing his feelings in other ways that aren't combat-oriented boils down to ''I don't get it but whatever''

i dont like the concept of only male hedgehogs being able to go super because gender locking that sort of thing just feels weird and pointless but it does have potential to be kinda funny when combined with the idea of sonic being trans like imagine during the events of the second game he hasnt really officially come out/transitioned yet but hes able to go super anyway because the chaos emeralds somehow magically knew sonic was a boy before sonic himself fully realized it and like 5 minutes after that whole thing is over hes like tails i have to trans my gender immediately
#well i think the actual source for ''only male hedgehogs can go super'' was actually trying to say only sonic shadow and silver can#and they all happen to be male hedgehogs. but people often go around saying that only male hedgehogs can go super anyway#my feelings on the concept are kinda complicated really like i agree that only a very small few should have super forms#because if everyone can do it its not as special or important#but again . why gender lock it . thats weird

I can’t stop drawing tiny Watchdogs (Patreon)
#Doodles#Wander Over Yonder#Commander Peepers#Watchdog#Newsflash: They are all tiny#They're such perfect spacefillers I swear <3 <3 <3 No hells boxes here#They're all basically just stick figures with eyes in place of the head lol what more could I ask for#Or in the case of Fist Fighters then the obvious lol#Even if I do also already have some stick figures that I enjoy lol - they keep the page on-theme! Very important! Haha#Gave a go to a regular Watchdog to go with my Fist Fighter and hmmm yes this feels attainable lol - just gotta give 'em both names#They are very cute and sweet ♥#An actual full-style(? Full WOY style? Lol) for Peepers and a regular Watchdog!#Although afterwards I looked and I'm. Hm. There's conflicting information out there and I'm not sure what to believe#On the wiki he's listed as being shorter than most other Watchdogs but I did a quick screenshot comparison in The It and he was taller??#Not just taller - his eye was bigger - and I accounted for distance! The regular Watchdog was in front of him by just a few inches!#It's inconsistent enough for me to argue either way honestly#And all that not counting what Wander does to his shoes lol so all in all he's probably Slightly taller than the Watchdogs with his shoes on#Not counting special members like Moose or the Drill Sergeant - and definitely not Westley he's super tiny haha#Honestly surprised Peepers didn't take advantage of their height difference more he's a bit of a bully ♪#Rest abound as being silly little guys :) I do love how they're so easy to draw ''in colour'' haha#Red on black on red on black ♫ I suppose I could add in a yellow but pfsh don't even talk to me about the dark purple/red combo inside lol#Maybe at some point but I like them at full lighting for ease of colours haha#Cutest lads <3 Love 'em

There is gonna be more than that coming from the poll, but whatever it is vote Kacchan/Deku for best hero. Idc who wins i just need them to be together again
if they just announced it today without saying anything before, I would probably immediately do it.
Right now im just bitter because of the hype -I thought it would at least slightly relate to the actual story (adaptations of other stories, extra content for the volume which once again may I remind everyone is extremely short, almost half what a manga volume usually looks which is a huge problem).
This disappointed me extremely, as its not even related to any content from the manga beyond the characters it uses. I get that many ppl will work on this, and that artist will get excited over being able to get the spotlight, some will be able to ask specific questions, and a character will get a statue and a movie.
Still extremely disappointed because of the "special project will be announced on the 5th *wink wink*".
I can't feel excitement over it as, in my mind, I lost something that felt better -more content related to the story. So at best this would be "oh cool I can try it", a feeling pretty similar to the other announcements -not my favorite thing in the world, but I wont reject it and try to see what comes out of it.
This isnt at best to me right now
#grrr talking#grrr being a hater#literally one of the special things was already announced -the fan book#bc im feeling negative I will say negative stuff here so beware#as far as I saw the fan book is a way of getting another product without paying artists#and days before we already knew it would happen#the statue thing feels like the art exhibition like okay thats cool still doesnt compare to more stories like at all#and I will never see any of that in person ever so why would I get extra happy about that?#I know this is an homage so we can feel like we are closer to their world and all but the statues have a bad connotation there#vote so we can see the protagonist and the deuteragonist in a movie#im sorry why do we need to massively vote so they get content? they are literally the most important characters#and what would even be the movie about? For all I know they could do whatever they wanted with the characters#a movie based on who the most popular character is... great. unless passionate ppl are involved in the project it doesnt sound like a good#a good story could come out of it#as its based on who is most popular among voters not an actual story the characters need#so unless 278 characters already have backstories and stuff planned that would get explored in a movie#i dont trust what they could do with this#and I dont want to give them my hope. They didnt need to make an announcement for the announcement#that only has made me feel super bitter#will I get over it later in the day? probably#I still want to express myself#the only thing in my mind about using this opportunity is still bitter lmao#just asking why didnt you make them hold hands#because I can try to justify it with my own theories#but that doesnt mean anything now does it

Alright uninformed rant time. It kind of bugs me that, when studying the Middle Ages, specifically in western Europe, it doesn’t seem to be a pre-requisite that you have to take some kind of “Basics of Mediaeval Catholic Doctrine in Everyday Practise” class.
Obviously you cant cover everything- we don’t necessarily need to understand the ins and outs of obscure theological arguments (just as your average mediaeval churchgoer probably didn’t need to), or the inner workings of the Great Schism(s), nor how apparently simple theological disputes could be influenced by political and social factors, and of course the Official Line From The Vatican has changed over the centuries (which is why I’ve seen even modern Catholics getting mixed up about something that happened eight centuries ago). And naturally there are going to be misconceptions no matter how much you try to clarify things for people, and regional/class/temporal variations on how people’s actual everyday beliefs were influenced by the church’s rules.
But it would help if historians studying the Middle Ages, especially western Christendom, were all given a broadly similar training in a) what the official doctrine was at various points on certain important issues and b) how this might translate to what the average layman believed. Because it feels like you’re supposed to pick that up as you go along and even where there are books on the subject they’re not always entirely reliable either (for example, people citing books about how things worked specifically in England to apply to the whole of Europe) and you can’t ask a book a question if you’re confused about any particular point.
I mean I don’t expect to be spoonfed but somehow I don’t think that I’m supposed to accumulate a half-assed religious education from, say, a 15th century nobleman who was probably more interested in translating chivalric romances and rebelling against the Crown than religion; an angry 16th century Protestant; a 12th century nun from some forgotten valley in the Alps; some footnotes spread out over half a dozen modern political histories of Scotland; and an episode of ‘In Our Time’ from 2009.
But equally if you’re not a specialist in church history or theology, I’m not sure that it’s necessary to probe the murky depths of every minor theological point ever, and once you’ve started where does it end?
Anyway this entirely uninformed rant brought to you by my encounter with a sixteenth century bishop who was supposedly writing a completely orthodox book to re-evangelise his flock and tempt them away from Protestantism, but who described the baptismal rite in a way that sounds decidedly sketchy, if not heretical. And rather than being able to engage with the text properly and get what I needed from it, I was instead left sitting there like:
And frankly I didn’t have the time to go down the rabbit hole that would inevitably open up if I tried to find out
#This is a problem which is magnified in Britain I think as we also have to deal with the Hangover from Protestantism#As seen even in some folk who were raised Catholic but still imbibed certain ideas about the Middle Ages from culturally Protestant schools#And it isn't helped when we're hit with all these popular history tv documentaries#If I have to see one more person whose speciality is writing sensational paperbacks about Henry VIII's court#Being asked to explain for the British public What The Pope Thought I shall scream#Which is not even getting into some of England's super special common law get out clauses#Though having recently listened to some stuff in French I'm beginning to think misconceptions are not limited to Great Britain#Anyway I did take some realy interesting classes at uni on things like marriage and religious orders and so on#But it was definitely patchy and I definitely do not have a good handle on how it all basically hung together#As evidenced by the fact that I've probably made a tonne of mistakes in this post#Books aren't entirely helpful though because you can't ask them questions and sometimes the author is just plain wrong#I mean I will take book recommendations but they are not entirely helpful; and we also haven't all read the same stuff#So one person's idea of what the basics of being baptised involved are going to radically differ from another's based on what they read#Which if you are primarily a political historian interested in the Hundred Years' War doesn't seem important eonugh to quibble over#But it would help if everyone was given some kind of similar introductory training and then they could probe further if needed/wanted#So that one historian's elementary mistake about baptism doesn't affect generations of specialists in the Hundred Years' War#Because they have enough basic knowledge to know that they can just discount that tiny irrelevant bit#This is why seminars are important folks you get to ASK QUESTIONS AND FIGURE OUT BITS YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND#And as I say there is a bit of a habit in this country of producing books about say religion in mediaeval England#And then you're expected to work out for yourself which bits you can extrapolate and assume were true outwith England#Or France or Scotland or wherever it may be though the English and the French are particularly bad for assuming#that whatever was true for them was obviously true for everyone else so why should they specify that they're only talking about France#Alright rant over#Beginning to come to the conclusion that nobody knows how Christianity works but would like certain historians to stop pretending they do#Edit: I sort of made up the examples of the historical people who gave me my religious education above#But I'm now enamoured with the idea of who actually did give me my weird ideas about mediaeval Catholicism#Who were my historical godparents so to speak#Do I have an idea of mediaeval religion that was jointly shaped by some professor from the 1970s and a 6th century saint?#Does Cardinal Campeggio know he's responsible for some much later human being's catechism?#Fake examples again but I'm going to be thinking about that today

Here we goo- Shepherd and Brutus backstory
General content warning for slavery, abuse, and violence (You know, normal Legion Things)
They were born into a tribe that originated in Mexico- and was primarily nomadic herders, but eventually settled in the northern New Mexico/ Texas area where they raised a variety of animals and experimented with the domestication and cultivation of various wasteland plants. (Mostly an agricultural society- Trading excess with surrounding tribes for things they couldn't produce on their own)
Their tribe was conquered by The Legion when Shepherd was 2 and Brutus was 7- The tribe didn't go willingly, and a lot people died including the boys father, and the rest were taken into slavery or were to be trained as Legionaries.
Both boys lived as slaves with their mother and remaining family for about a decade. When Shepherd was 11 and Brutus 16. There mother fucked up and embarrassed their master in front of a Centurion - He was furious and quickly turned violent. Brutus, wanting to project both his mother and his brother used to commotion to grab a machete from a nearby Legionaries and attack- He was able to take their master by surprise, injuring him, then fled from the camp.
He survived on his own out in the wasteland- eating plants and small critters, before being tracked down by the Frumentarii and brought before Caesar for punishment. Brutus was threatened with crucifixion but used the opportunity to plead the case that his master should be executed along side him for bringing shame to the legion due to being wounded by an untrained trained child.
Kinda amused by his gall, and seeing potential Caesar obliged- executing their master, and ordering that Shepherd and Brutus be put through training. Brutus made use of his stature and natural strength and became a fully fledged Legionnaire by his 18th birthday.
He followed orders, asked no questions and did whatever he had to- Sucking up to those in command, killing, etc. His (seeming) loyalty and devotion, as well as ferocity in battle was rewarded- quickly moving up the ranks, and after killing his predecessor in The Arena became a Praetorian.
Brutus was fiercely protective and loyal to Caesar, and to all outward appearances seemed to be the Ideal Legionnaire. He coveted proximity to Caesar- Hoping it would be enough to keep Caesar’s attention off of his brother.
He became rash and violent in battle- over-performing in every action to maintain his status with Caesar. Caesar noticed Brutus’ devotion and began (secretly) lavishing Brutus praise, and rewards when he behaved- this praise and attention (A rare thing in the Legion) led Brutus to become fiercely protective and loyal to the Legion, and Caesar in particular. Having another Loyal Soldier willing to do whatever he asked was a big ego boost for Caesar- He also found Brutus' blunt, cold but intelligent demeanor entertaining (Especially with talking to other legionaries about battle plan- particularly matters of Geography and nature)
Shepherd too survived training- and eventually become a Fumentarii, however he was loyal to what remains of his family first and foremost.
Shepherd however found his Brother's apparent adoration of Caesar and the Legion repulsive. Coming to resent his brother for bending a knee to the man who had murdered their family and so many others. Shepherd started taking missions that would keep him out of the fort and away from the Legion for long periods of time.
On these trips he broke the Legion’s rules regarding “degenerate” activity- gambling, drinking, taking chems, frequenting Nipton and enjoying the feeling of being free of the Legion’s rules. He came to resent the Legion’s policies on essentially everything, enjoying the satisfaction of spiting both Caesar and his brother.
He'd steal and hide away money with the eventual goal of helping his mother, and the remnants of his tribe, escape back into the wasteland with enough money and resources to thrive.
Shepherd's plan was eventually found out- and he cut his losses, unable to get the resources to his family, and out of fear for his own life he fled into the wasteland (This is the time period where he set up community in The Divide). Mad as hell, and worried Brutus' loyalty to his brother would cause issues Caesar had the remainder of the tribe rounded up and executed.
Following Shepherd's Whoopsie in The Divide- he had no where else to go, and deeply upset by what he'd done he returned to The Legion, needing the support from his brother. It took a LOT of pandering to Caesar's ego (and persuasion from Brutus) but they were able to convince Caesar that the distruction of The Divide and subsequent weakening of NCR in the Mojave had been Shepherd's plan the whole time - That he'd needed to server ties to The Legion in order to gain the trust of the NCR. He was allowed to rejoin the Legion, albeit stripped of any rank.
The timeline splits at the first battle of Hoover dam. Both men were present and fighting (Shepherd- 21, Brutus- 26). Only one of them returns from the battle alive.
Shepherd (Independent)- Seeing the aftermath of Hoover dam, and following the death of his brother Shepherd has no reason to stay. He uses the fall out to slip away, faking his death, and fucking off to become a courier in the hopes of gathering enough money to buy travel with a caravan as far away from Legion territory as humanly possible.
Brutus (Legion)- absolutely devastated by the death of his brother at Hoover dam, Brutus struggles with his failure to protect his brother. He throws himself into his duties- putting Caesar's life on a pedestal of The Most Important Thing. He's determined to not fail as a protector again, no matter what he has to do. Due to his Loyalty and combat ability he was selected to intercept a delivery the Frumentarii caught wind of intended for Mr. House.
#For some reason typing out their whole lore like that feels deeply embarrassing#so if you read all that THANK YOU ILY FR#Yeah it's like super self indulgent and my boy are both SUPER special and closely connected with Important Figures#but it's my game so I get to be as cringe as I want.#Also if there's grammar/spelling issues no their aint - I am NOT proof reading all that#oc: Shepherd#oc: Brutus#Also Shepherd's Legion name was Parvulus Messor meaning “Little Reaper”#Chosen because farming background and short king#but appropriate because he becomes a vengeful Grim Reaper for the Legion later in this playthough

i don't remember if i ever shared my vbs one. wtv
#mine#im still not over the fact that they just completely forgot that rui wrote the travelling troupe show about himself lol#like ofc its super important to wandasho as a whole and they rewrote it to get him to join in the first place so it makes sense to rewrite#it again but the fact they made it about emu lowkey bugs me lol#ily emu but ohe probably should’ve been split between two events#someone’s probably gonna call me a misogynist or something because of that im sorry I’m just really annoying about screenwriting#the show was important to wxs as a whole but it had a special significance to rui being a show he wrote about himself and then was#rewritten by the other three for the specific purpose of making amends with him#the fact they didn’t acknowledge its significance to him at all feels wrong. ik its an emu event but he had a whole chapter lol

Rollo Flamme is autistic. I had suspicions about it but after reading his vignette I heard a voice in my head confirming it. God has told me the truth and I must spread the word
He would also be ok with Batman, if he's not his most favoured hero. Oh and he also probably has PTSD and depression. Thanks for coming to my ted talk
#twisted wonderland#rollo flamme#twst#okay hear me out#jp spoilers#spoilers of Rollo's vignette❗❗❗#This mf keeps count of each grape he eats. 16. No more. No less.#they could have just generalized and say he eats a bunch of grapes but no. he SPECIFIES how many he eats#+ 2 croissants and a coffee with milk. That's his lunch every single day#(very implied or canon) he always goes to the same store. to buy the same envelope and letter paper < that's canon#he goes through a schedule and he's comfortable having the same routine#one of his hyperfixations is hating mages and magic. another one is his liking towards croissants and grape (comfort foods)#another possible special interest is history. given how he reacts in history classes and how much historical lore he knows of the city#another special interest could be flowers because both in the event and vignette is shown he's exceptionally good at cultivating plants and#i think he mentioned in the vignette one of the things he likes of Fleur city is the landscape tho his con is that the flowers initially --#were cultivated with magic#a perfectionist who brushes it off but his grades and efforts to make everything right despite the questionable morals of his says it all#and the most important thing: it gives me autism vibes#Now about the second statement: he doesn't read comics or scifi in general#but mc explains him some hero lore and talks about a hero who beats villain asses w/o superpowers#and who keeps an eye in every superhero but specially in this guy called superman#because bat believes super is so OP he could make a disaster if he turned to be a bad guy#bat also has reserves of an element that removes superman powers and bets SUPER villains using his brains and weapons he has created himsel#his morals are somewhat different to other heroes and most of them don't understand him but he's ok doing it his own way#and Rollo is sold. No he probably won't ever touch anything related to heroes but this called Batman is right and superior#and most importantly. If MC says Batman is the best with that alone he agrees. With proof he only joins MC more#“Magicless people rule” – Rollo Flamme#the part of Rollo having depression and PTSD or some sort of illness induced by trauma is self explanatory if you have read the event#shut up noko

I've been enjoying all your posts lately, especially all the community engagement. It makes me think about posting more personal aroace content instead of just reblogging.
I'm full of feelings but not sure what I really have to contribute to the conversation. Aro-identified people skew young and I feel like nobody's going to care what a middle aged aroace has to say but now I'm like hang on, maybe all aro content is good content, I don't know, I'm thinking about it.
i am absolutely of the opinion that all aro content is good content! especially because a lot of us skew young, i think it's so important to have (first of all just aro content in General. there's always a lack of that. but especially) aro content from people who don't usually have their perspectives talked about. if you've got nothing to contribute to the conversation that's fine :) more than half the time i do not either, i just make a silly happy little lah di dah i love aromanticism post and chit chat with all the little aromantic people who live on my laptop. if you're aromantic and you're engaging with the community then everybody should be more than happy to have you there :) just like you said. all aro content is good content. your opinion is valuable and your presence is treasured <2
#if people can post about their jakey 24/7 (vom) then we can absolutely talk about being aro without anything Special To Contribute haha#you're right though we skew super young...#has to be a lot of people your age who are here and just not talking though. has to be.#i am still very young at 20 obvi but i was online in aro/ace spaces at the end of my middle school career#and if there were people there seven years ago who were doing the stuff that i'm doing now and Any of them were like. grownups already lmao#seven years later there must be people out there who are not super young. rally in the replies. send in asks :)#it's hard cause our community got so fucked up around 2016... i wonder if a lot of the people who aren't like. Teenagers.#were online at that time and just never found their way back into the better community spaces that we're working on building nowadays#anyway. extremely silly cause like i said i'm 20. and when i post ab aro stuff it Is with like! life experience!#but my aro credentials are just from having come out suuuuuuper super early. a significant number of years of aromanticism under my belt.#but that's cause i was in a space that allowed me to be confident about a choice that i made at thirteen about who i knew i was#and not everybody has that. or the language available to them. or any number of things in a support system.#anyway my point here was going to be that i have valuable stuff to add in terms of having spent a lot of time thinking about being aro#and going through my formative years very consciously Being Aro and building worldviews that way#but i think it's super important to hear from people who have more actual life experience to share. more time spent on earth.#cause i can talk all i want about theory and about the life i plan to live and about all this stuff haha#but if you've got stuff to share about your experience being aro in your adulthood. i think that's plenty relevant.#anyway. um. hope this helped. would love to hear more from you. make those posts. stop by the ask box any time :)#aro community foreverrrrrrrrr <2#LONG ass tags jesus christ bracken 😭#talking#ask

As an Asian and a major fan of the Jedi, I just wanna slap Lesyle Headland in the face. I'm so tired of ignorant Westerners (aka faux white feminists) like her and Kathleen Kennedy shitting on the Jedi. They're basically insulting and looking down on my people and their culture. I wish Kathleen Kennedy got fired. I wish that SOMEONE could hire an Asian person to direct the Acolyte instead of a white Western woman like Lesyle Headland. She should just go back to making a 3rd season of Russian Doll or whatever. Why is it SO HARD for Disney to hire Asian people to be in charge of a Star Wars series or movie???
The anti-jedi rethoric is very annoying and it upsets me that lucasfilm doesn't try (i might be wrong about them not trying but alas) to at least direct creators working for canon material to stick to GLs original meaning without the very prominent legends bias we know older fans have. You and everyone to whom this characterization is important (I'm one of them!) has every right to be upset about the things she said, but I just want to point out a few things:
We don't know how Acolyte is going to turn out. The statement is worrying but we've seen actors/directors say things in interviews that just don't reflect on what we actually get. (Favreou does this all the time) I say we wait. I'm not an optimistic but I think we can hold off saying it will DEFINITELY be awful until it actually comes out.
Again, it's very upsetting having yet another show trying to be "jedi critical" but I can't help but notice that Filoni, Favreou and multiple other writers have been doing it for years and everyone still watches and reads everything they put out. Not many people seriously call for them being fired. The fact that I've seen way more anger and aggressiveness towards Lesyle is... telling. Go all the way on the critiques of the material when the show comes out (I will) but don't be blind to the fact that she is one of the first openly queer women leading a prominent Disney production. There will be fans being awful to the show just because of it + Amandla's race and gender. Sometimes will be hard to tell which kind of anger someone is expressing but I'll highlight that is NEVER productive to side with bigots, even when you're rightfully angry for different reasons than them.
Which leads to my next point: we should be (I know we already are, just to remember the focus) advocating for diversity on the writing room. That's the space we have to a big cast of opinions and perspectives in the same project, while we only have one director/a few producers. And I think it's important to acknowledge that in that department they've already have gone really far just in the last couple years. We have Debora Chow. Diego Luna was producing Andor. Regardless of the end result, Lesley is an openly queer woman. EVERY SINGLE LEAD BESIDES EWAN IS A POC. This was unimaginable ten years ago. This is just a reminder to not let yourself fall in despair, we're getting there.
Kathleen Kennedy is incredible at her job. I'm not discussing her opinions because they aren't that relevant: she doesn't make any creative decisions. She makes executive and strategic ones, and Star Wars has put out more content under her administration than ever. She is one of the reasons it's so diverse now. Push for her to do better, to hire people who have a vision that aligns with what star wars is meant to be, but calling for her being fired is echoing the dudebros who blame her for every detail that aren't even under her control.
None of this erases the underlying racism in the refusal to understand Jedi culture, you (we) are rightfully angry, specially if Acolyte turns out to be exactly how she said it will. I just think there are more effective ways we can have this conversation and pressure Lucasfilm to do better than boycotting a show we don't even know if is really problematic yet, lest they decide it's easier to stick to the "standard" white straight male pov because it cuts off both the "wokenism" complaints and the ones that what they're doing isn't the right kind of diversity. #like im all in for calling out what Lesley said#but I've seen every single note on that post simce im op#and I'm gonna say that the aggressiveness is disproportionate#specially because filoni has said and done much worse#star wars is an angry fandom by definition#sometimes is important to remember that a lot of the fandom will be angry for a very different and worse reason (star wars is woke now!!)#and I really don't want to help Those Guys#sorry about this being long but I've been noticing this since that post blew up#important reminder that this is simply me trying to be realistic and pointing out how i believe it's the healthy way to interact with this#byt like if you want to be super pissed about it have it your way i just felt the need to point this out since it was directly sent to me
