Yeah, that can be seen with the fact Liliana, Dreadhorde General is being reprinted. I really wish you would stay away from overpowered Planeswalkers. Isn't that the whole reason you 'desparked' the majority of them? Can we please not have exile/destroy everything effects?

How is the complexity level of Foundation? Is it meant to be simpler than other premier sets?

A/N: I am doing this reading from a right place deep inside my mind, I will be performing a calming/ peaceful spell for them (that hopefully goes through) I am not doing this as an attempt to invade their privacy, the feeling they are feeling are entirely theirs only.  *By “message” i do not mean they spoke those words, I am referring to their thoughts/energy placement is for ARMY

So first I did a quick check into the whole vibe using the pendulum divination, asking some questions to test the waters. So far, to put it simpler, they would have been exponentially more surprised if they were to win the award (honestly I don’t know what’s more upsetting) but it’s good to know that they were mentally prepared for a negative outcome, the emotional toll wasn’t as high. It seems like they weren’t disappointed, which to me sounds like a good thing, they are clear as to what’s the most important milestone in their career and the scammys just aint it chief. It’s just like... something every artists is meant to try their luck at and that’s what they did.

However of course we are all only human and yeah, feelings are all over the way, mostly tired, this was the easiest reading that I’ve done for BTS so far, their spiritual guards were down, probably letting themselves feel whatever they need to feel.

And so the reading goes a little like this, i used a traditional tarot for the general energy per member (cards went flying all over the place) and then i used a guidance oracle to know where their personal reflection on the situation is headed:

Queen of Swords Reversed, Seokjin is a tiny bit bitter at the outcome, he feels kinda overpowered, like he’d seen it coming (the outcome) but still somehow felt like there was a tiny bit of hope out there and he reprimands himself for believing there was a chance. 

However, as he dwells on the feeling, he thinks of this as an opportunity to heal, to grow and let go, he’ll come around to believe that it wasn’t wrong to have hope, that this light at the end of the tunnel is what fuels us humans to dream and to achieve.

8 of Swords Reversed. Min Yoongi my manifestation king. This man from the very start since they were nominated had already considered it as a HUGE milestone, he feels free now, not winning the award is giving him a whole new perspective on his reasons to make music. 

Of course, he knows that it is a truth VERY hard to swallow since they’ve worked so hard but deep down, he knows this experience will only strengthen them in every possible aspect.

Another Queen of Swords Reversed. Just like Seokjin, Hoseok feels bitter about the outcome, he feels for his members just how much effort and everything that comes with it has taken a toll on everyone that worked for the nomination so yeah, he kinda feels like they should be cold hearted towards the western music industry for that reason.

This ray of sunshine is obviously thinking of ARMY first handed, he’ll come around the idea that no matter how badly he wants to let go of the western music industry, there’s a lot of ARMYs there too and he just wants all of this situation to help him focus on giving nicer things to ARMY.

Joon, evermore the 148 IQ academic he is, is really REALLY curious as to exactly what parameters were used to decide the winner, he is very obviously dedicating A LOT of mental energy to this situation and paired with his curiosity,  it’s causing him to be restless, big time. He just wants answers. 

He’ll come around to know that sometimes we’ll have to deal with not nothing the full story, that he needs fresh air, a break from all of the storm that them not getting the award has caused everywhere. He’ll also most probably take part in a board meeting and that’ll exhaust him so please send all your love and good vibes to Joonie.

He has welcomed the exhaustion, he had been preparing on an anxiety driven haste that he is just letting it all go, he feels a sense of fulfillment, no matter the outcome, he’s just happy it’s over, he feels like they’ve completed a whole era in their career and he’s just happy about it.

Somehow he considers this situation to be a perfect timing, knowing fully that they worked so hard, they’ve completed their task and it’s a chance to grow better, stronger. I also got the feeling like they’ve already got something prepared and its going to be HUGE.

Forever Vmin soulmates, The World Reversed. much the opposite of Jimin, TAe feels like this is an uncompleted goal for their career, they went so hard and for what? he feels like the whole task was left unfinished, like they could have done better, tonight, there’s no closure for him.

However he’ll come to realise that there’s beauty in life, in their career, Grammy or not. He’ll also come to realise that perhaps the western music industry is not their place, not as in they don’t belong, but more of a place they don’t want to be at if they can’t see the beauty in their art without money involved.

So I feel like over all, the whole ‘Grammy nominated artists’ spoiled rotten too fast for them, especially for Kookie, what was meant to feel like an awesome achievement was turned into the start of a greedy cycle of always aiming for more even when they were not yet ready for it. He’s found some kind of emotional stability within the outcome of tonight’s awards, he feels comfortable now, like he can breathe again after a long time.

He’s also come to realise that things must be questioned, if all that comes within making it great by other people’s or general standard for music is really worth the emotional toll.

Fundy in Orch

- Fundy was a child when he fell through a portal to Orch and doesn’t realize he’s from another dimension 

- He’s semi-holographic with only an endoskeleton being physical. Sort of hard light situation, like touching him is part way between a gas and a solid, sort of glitchy. 

- Thats how he can look like a fox! With some effort and practice (like drawing) he can change his form. 

- Sam helps repair his body with redstone and everyone just assumes he’s sone kind of strange damaged cyborg As robotics aren’t strange in Orch.

- He’s got a different kind of body than Tubbo because of it. Aside from just being different builds (Tubbo is a solid robot) but after so many years of being worked on by Sam he’s no longer made up of the same sci fi material. Simpler metals and such. He’s got more dull dusty red glows and not the bright blue signature to Ywuscore.

- Nobody talks about it much but everyone agrees Fundy was probably created and treated unethically. As far as Sam knows he’s someone they rescued after he ran away from some maniac in Orch. 

- (He wasn’t, the portal just screwed him up because unstable) also he doesn’t really care where he came from. He knows they’ve got a worry about him but now they’re all grown up and doing good he shrugs it off. 

- Protective friend group? yes. Especially Ponk. 

- He remembers Ywuscore but not in detail and overtime has morphed them into just “somewhere else I used to be.”

- mmmmm Hannah sister figure to everyone.

Tubbo in Orch

- Tubbo and Tommy ending up visiting Orch?

- TUBBO SEES BEES!!! charlie slimecicle reaction ensues. Tommy gets Phil to make some bees in Sleepy.

- idk if Fundy ever fully realizes where he’s from, agt least not blatantly stated in story. He’s different enough from Tubbo it’s not obvious but he finds a kinship in friendship him :) 

-  I imagine a scene where Azure (or alex?) something something Karl is explaining it he’s there for plot exposition and he just makes a face and goes “wait, so- it’s- ...mom?” and there’s a nearly audible record scratch as everyone, even almost azure, is like “dude. what.”

Oh yeah here’s some karl lore

- (Karl can portal, he’s like skipping the shell altogether. Only people who are willing can enter his portals if someone is consciously not thinking about entering they won’t. Also, obviously, he needs to want them to. If he wants to drag someone through forcefully it’s a throw of wills with him at a disadvantage.)

Tubbo and Tommy in Prowa

- Since Travelers have to phase through it’s harder the more solid the world. 

- Tommy is stuck for a while while he recharges enough to exit but first he wants to find Wilbur so he can brag how he made it into Prowa.

- Tubbo gets hurt somehow (maybe electrocuted?) and gets hyper because robot  

- They go to the Casino where Wilbur talked about cleaning out some people (he screws over Charlie a lot for funsies. They’ve got a card rivalry)

- Anyway they make their way to Virido Chip which is closed and, having little to no social care and whatever they did have being either drained or overpowered, they just break in. Tubbo breaks the door in so it’s still closes but the lock is gone and handel is broken.

-Tubbo’s strong btw

- Schlatt is there (it’s after hours) and being used to being attacked goes full defense mode and sneaks up front, gun pulled, only to find two weird looking kids just shuffling around. 

- He’s thrown off enough to let his guard down in this moment of “wtf”

- Anway Schlatt has to babysit a glowy blue and (racoon? avian?) teenangers. One of whom is tired and grumpy and the other is very cheerful and hyper. WHile trying desperately to get a hold of Quackity because there’s no way this isn’t his weird boyfriends chart.

- He calls Charlie. Imagine this full grown bouncer ram man struggling to work a 1920s phone as Tubbo runs around looking at all the cool new stuff, tryong to stop him from grabbing the phone out of his hands, also while a very tired Tommy swears at him from the ground.

-Charlie shows up to help after not really understanding the explanation and Tubbo get to talk about the BEST creatures from other dimensions (Slimes and Bees)

- Charlie also figures out where Wilbur is, cleaning out some other Casino since Virido was closed.

- Quackity comes back from a date to either A) a surprisingly wholesome scene where they’re all laying on the floor playing dominoes, Tommy having gained some energy and Tubbo having spent some, or B) 

(i think I like A better although it was like B at some point definitely)

Wilbur in SaiSai

- wants to see what all the fuss is about after talking to the fiancees about it so tags along

- Isn’t with them at first, just goes on his own

- Takes the form of a merfolk at first because water world. Swims around for a while, then meets a ship and has a bit of a conversation with the crew and wants to come on board. 

-They’re like “uh, no? Even if yes, how? You don’t even have legs.” and he laughs darkly (because he likes screwing with people) and turns into smoke? bird? flies up onto the ship and lands, taking on his ordinary form. 

- His mysterious stranger moment (tm) however gets cut short by Pufft deking him over the side with either her fists or a mop or if she’s got her horns she head butts him off? 

- “NO MORE! No more fucking omens on my fucking ships! I’m sick of it!”

- Jack: “Puffy, this is my ship.” 

- something something she ends up saying “Karl, Quackity, and Sapnap are an exception because they’re very polite.”

Okay here we go! I did talk about this a bit under the Mephy process pics which I posted a while back, as well as my response under the og pic it’s just interspersed w my meta reasons for it. (Although, idk, for me, having a strong intent w symbolism and themes is often the first and foremost of whatever goes into a pic, everything is secondary to carrying the meaning. If it doesn’t have a meaning I just fuck around and find out.) and for that one it was recent and I didn’t start culling the like 20 versions of it like I did most of these... If you ever wanna see process pics you’ve gotta hit me within the first week of posting cause I often do start deleting the earlier copies eventually and ended up fewer examples than I wanted…

My process for backgrounds highly varies depending on the intent of the picture. Sometimes I have very clear intent in mind when starting a picture, but because the way I work is so painterly now, I find that I’m willing to change the background or composition at any point if I don’t like it.

I can’t find the older versions of this one, but I did post one earlier in the process, initially it was going to be a very clean image of her sitting bored on her throne. But I didn’t have a clear reference for the throne, and what I ended up with was boring, I found myself disliking it, and so went with the shattered earth bg sort of merging the scenery from her card art. You can see how I was working from more flat lines, adding layers of color exclusion and subtraction to soften it, then jagged lines to add crunch and texture and make it look like the image was more grungy and decomposed.

But the same holds true of flatter styles. The background is actually a part of the picture I work on and change at random. Nothing is sacred and things can be added or discarded at any point. This one here here I drew all these bugs individually on a separate canvas and pasted them at random. But I was working on his figure and background at the same time. For the butterflies, I drew the front and back wings individually then sort of composited them into a complete bug. Rather than drawing them individually at various angles. Bc I wasn’t going for that for this one

This one here I got so wrapped up in the background I ended up zooming out and trying to add more characters and had to pause on it bc it’s a lot more work to build a multi character scene when really I should have just posted my grunged up little meow meow when I was ahead sigh

A few more thoughts: if the composition looks good flat it’ll look good shaded. Strong Shapes are really useful for a background. Windows are particularly elegant, I have to fight the urge to put a window in every picture as a frame within the frame/for an excuse for backlighting. Because any way you can emphasize the picture being a contained space will bring a sense of dimensionality, which invites you to want to look into it as a little world rather than a singular drawing of a character which is ungrounded, in which case the appeal is more the character itself. Like, you drew a decent pic of the character i like. Vs. you drew an image w a composition that is confusing and distracting enough occasionally people who don’t “go here” might still get caught up staring at it. Or at least this is the type of response that always brings me a lot of joy.

On that merit though, if the figure is strong enough on its own, which sometimes it is, then sometimes a simplistic background is the best you can do, because you don’t Want to overpower whatever your concept is without reason. Here’s an example of me choosing the simpler and cleaner picture even though it lacks the Crunch simply bc you lost the shape of the wings and the opening line of inferno which was the whole point of the pic (even though I’m ultimately still torn on that choice and miss the spooky vibes of pic 1)

If background is the central focus to the picture, it’s probably better to work bg first or even set the scene up in a poser program for better lighting or composition. But it is t necessary to put that much background work into Every picture. If you don’t need a background, sometimes adding details is just going to make it cluttered and messy. My current process I generally Want to look cluttered and messy bc it’s the type of art I enjoy looking at, but specifically in a way where you are rewarded for looking closer, and any time your eye wanders you’re pulled back to something else, because the more things of interest happening in the picture, the more likely someone will stop to stare for a longer time and hit reblog, because you’ve tricked them into spending more time in your personal little hellscape. Which I also talk about on my reply to some tags the Mephy pic. My current mentality is, if this is a long term picture I’m pouring a lot of effort into, I’m my harshest critic and can easily slip myself into the bored disillusioned user scrolling tumblr going “who cares” so any time my eye wanders when working on it, if I find myself slipping away out of the picture I want to put something there to redirect you to the subject.

Here’s an example of what happens when i draw the lines without thinking about the background till the very end (managing to keep a separate layer for figure and bg which I don’t often). It looks silly when the character layer is turned off but it gives you a better sense of how you start with flats and simple gradients and add all the little bastard textures on it later.

If you have questions on any specific texture or technique from a specific image I can probably go more into that! I use a combo of mostly default pro create brushes and ones I’ve made myself which are easilly replicated if you have the program. But even if you’re using object or texture brushes you have to keep them at a minimum. They shouldn’t carry the pic just enhance it

Aurora James prompt: ‘You’re the best thing that ever happened to me’ ♣️♥️♠️

Aurora James usually paced when she was stressed. Specifically, she paced in the dark corner where her mini bar had sat since her first night in the Mansion. Normally, she was as tightly wound as a leopard, prowling from wall to wall with her feline sharp amber eyes glowing and metaphoric tail twitching. Normally, her sheer shirts barely clung to her tight muscles, enhancing the delicious curve of her shoulders and finely muscled biceps. Which was perhaps what made it so surprising to find the air still when Lucy entered the sapphic lion’s den. She didn’t see the prowling predator, nor the sharp alertness Aurora often had when overwhelmed. Instead, the Hustler was still, her back resting against the wall and knees lifted to her chest. The Hustler cuddled her knees, keeping her eyes squeezed wilfully shut, as if denying herself sight might allow her to resist her biggest vice.

Alcohol. Even from across the room, Lucy could smell it in the air. The open bottle mocked her, lingering out of Aurora’s reach. Despite the fact it rested out of reach, Lucy could see the way Aurora’s body leaned towards the bottle, even if only subtly. There was always that pull, an allure which mocked all of Aurora’s progress. One week. The Hustler had not touched alcohol for over a week now, and the effects were so painfully clear. She trembled often, even on the hottest days. She was irritable, a starved beast snapping at anything that dared to come close. Lucy had no such fears. Aurora could bite, she could claw and scream, yet she was incapable of driving Lucy away. Not when the Californian born girl had no intention of allowing Aurora to suffer through this alone. Lucy made no effort to disguise her intentions as she strode across the room, moving until she was sitting next to Aurora, between her and the bottle.

Aurora simply sighed and let the shadows embrace her, let the artistic naked women along the walls lead her down memory lane, trying to find those rare few moments which made her feel alive, instead of just mindless pleasure. Sometimes, if she felt generous, she would try to recall their faces. Who was the first? Who really shook her world for that delicate first time? Had she trusted them? Had she begged as she made so many do since? Or, had it been Franco’s idea? Had that last shred of innocence been traded just as the rest of her was? Had he used his tool beyond the purposes Aurora understood?

Aurora was no fool, nor was she mindless. Her memory was razor sharp, at least when it needed to be. An opponent from ten years prior could return and Aurora would remember their style. How much she had taken. How to push and play the game until she had them on the edge of their sanity. A quick glance could have her memorizing and calculating in ways that left many to shame… except the Valentine Gangs Little Lamb. That gorgeous blonde with doe eyes the colour of storm clouds, and a wit that struck like lightning. The Little Lamb had a memory like a camera. She could flick through her history like a catalog, then calculate complex sums off the top of her head. Lucy Kim was the perfection Aurora had always strove to be, yet that had its downsides too. Lucy did not have the blessing of forgetting the faces of those who hurt her, even after those men were in the grave. She recalled her moments of fear with such clarity it gave Aurora shivers. When Lucy finally spoke of her nightmares, it was cold and clinical, something so far from her usual sunny personality that is still left Aurora chilled to the core.

Her head throbbed insistently, reminding her that salvation was within reach. All she had to do was overpower the lock of her muscles, or was it release them? All she needed to do was reach for that bottle and her suffering would be abated… and Lucy would let her. Oh, she knew Lucy would let her grab that bottle, would sit there as she downed the lot. Lucy would bathe her if she puked all over herself, just as she’d tenderly tuck her into the impossibly large bed. Lucy would hold her through another round of withdrawals and denial; support her as she fell back into toxic habits. But that would absolutely break the blonde. Lucy was too kind-hearted to leave, even if Aurora’s behaviours began to destroy her. She’d never abandon the older woman, never leave, not even if she was destroyed in the process. That thought hurt Aurora more than any of her physical symptoms. How could she do that? How could she break this beautiful young woman? How could she face that disappointment? It was true, Aurora had introduced Lucy to the criminal world. She had allowed the girl to shoot guns and drive fast cars. She’d taught Lucy how to count cards and cheat almost anybody at Texas Hold ‘Em. But, in all of that, Aurora had never, ever attempted to make Lucy turn evil. She’d never wanted to destroy that light within the younger woman. No matter how much simpler it would be if she had, if she’d not been lured into actually caring.

Ugh. This was a mess.

Aurora James was the Valentine’s Hustler. She drank. She fucked. She went breaking hearts who dared wish for more. She didn’t sit around talking about her feelings. Not to her family. Not to herself. And especially not to doe eyed younger women with a smile so pure it made her believe in goodness again. Then again, she had watched so many fall victim to that smile. Chance had slowly caved, unable to keep his full glare on the adorable Little Lamb. Yoshimitsu had been instantly smitten, going out of his way to ensure her comfort. Irving had opened his intelligent mind and heart, embracing the girl as his little sister. Ash offered gentle smiles and playful gestures, appreciating her almost as much as he loved her dog. Even Mateo found it within himself to soften for her. Was it such a shock that Aurora James fell victim to the Valentine kryptonite too?

Alcohol was a comfortable familiar. An orgasm was an orgasm, and she’d fucked her way through half of LA by this point. On the one hand, she wasn’t so sure that untold number was something to brag about anymore. But on the other, over half of LA had found her attractive. No, not her, what she offered. That was a confidence booster and then some. However not a single person had graced her bed since they had taken in the Little Lamb… darn it all! Aurora hadn’t even WANTED anybody in her bed. It wasn’t like offers weren’t there, it was simply that there weren’t anymore people she could reach out to for casual sex without giving them expectations despite her clear words. Without breaking their fragile hearts. She was tired of it. Tired of pretending that she didn’t enjoy curling around her lover, inhaling the scent of their hair before she even opened her eyes. Or that she had no desires for intimacy… That she didn’t need! It had absolutely nothing to do with her being tamed. Damn it all! Was the Little Lamb taking away her sex drive? Not only her desire for drink, but her addiction to sex as well?

What the actual fuck was wrong with her?

The Little Lamb was too good, to pure for the Gangster’s hands to ruin. Aurora knew this, even as she clung that little bit tighter. Was it so wrong that she wanted something good for once? That she wanted to see that smile grow that little bit more with pride? Or see those beautiful eyes soften in that unique way? Dangerous? Absolutely. Letting somebody in this close was absolutely reckless. It was allowing someone ways to destroy her, and the Valentines. It was allowing someone the power to crush her, destroy everything she was… but was it wrong?

“I need a drink.” Aurora whispered, finally letting those devastating words through her fine lips. Every word tasted foul, worse than soured wine and off juice bubbling over her dexterous tongue. The tang was unavoidable, no matter how she moved her tongue or clamped her amber eyes shut to imagine something better. Something sweeter.

“You said need. Don’t you want to drink?” Lucy’s quiet voice was so gentle, so soothing in Aurora’s ears. The Mexican couldn’t help but sigh, allowing herself to fall into the warm, waiting body offering comfort. A hug. Who could have known that a hug could cure all ailments, even if temporarily? Falling into Lucy’s arms was almost like surrendering to the warmth of a delightful bath; allowing every muscle to relax and simply enjoy the sensation. Aurora found herself drowning in the scents of expensive lotions and shampoos. They were her products, yet somehow they just smelt better on Lucy. Sweeter. Purer. Scents Aurora used to inspire seduction gave off comfort when applied to Lucy’s pale skin… how? How could the exact same scent be so different on her? It was as if none of the scents wanted to corrupt the goodness of Lucy Kim. A sentiment Aurora indulged in.

“Not anymore. It’s just…” Aurora couldn’t finish her sentence. It was just… what? Habit? Security? A way to have the years pass in a pleasant blur? Something to soothe the agony of her sordid past? Her abandonment issues? When it came down to it, why did alcohol soothe her so? For so many years it had been the balm, the remedy. It chased traumas away and kept her feeling warm and fuzzy. It added that edge of danger to her gambling, softening her just enough that her opponents provided an entertaining challenge… or at least slightly more challenge than just handing her their cash.

“Just…” Aurora struggled to find the words. Why was its burn so ineffective now? Why did the thought of it turn her tastebuds to ash? The answer was all around her, gazing at her with those loving grey eyes that stole her breath. They were twinkling, filled with so many emotions that they made Aurora’s world spin. Surely it wasn’t her head… ok, it was definitely her head. The world hadn’t looked this clear for years, yet all she wanted to admire was Lucy.  Funny how that worked.  The first time in years she was stone cold sober and the only beauty she wanted to admire was that of a breathtaking woman… not everything to change.

“Take your time, Rory. I’m here with you.” Lucy mumbled, bending down to press her lips to the crown of Aurora’s head. Honestly, it hurt, seeing Rory reduced to this. A shaking mess, a shadow of her usual self. So small and broken in the face of a crippling addiction. Aurora was so strong, lithe muscle and feminine curves which left so many in awe, yet that strength melted the instant Lucy pulled the Mexican into her lap. This wasn’t AJ, the Valentine Hustler who had bankrupted Casinos in her boredom. This wasn’t the woman who was comfortable with weapons and martial arts. This was not AJ, the woman who broke romantic hearts with her honesty and made legends with her prowess. This was Aurora. Rory. Lucy’s Rory. This was the little girl who’d been abandoned when her family was deported. This was the woman who was broken when her father figure rejected her sentiment. Broke the illusion of affection to inform Aurora she was nothing but a tool. This was the woman who was continuously discarded and beaten down whenever she dared open her heart. Yet here she was, braving heartbreak yet again, placing herself in Lucy’s unworthy hands. For once, Aurora wasn’t the one holding her wounds together. No matter how many times she slipped and had to suffer through the painful process of detoxing, she planned to fight it.   Without thought, she extended her foot, allowing her toes to tap the top of the bottle.  For one terrifying moment, it tittered, almost acting as a representation of Aurora’s difficult life.  Then, it fell, crashing to the floor and spewing its poisonous contents all over the carpet.   It was freeing, even though it reeked.  She’d done it.  When faced with temptation she had found the strength to deny herself.  To turn it away.   It was a weight off her chest, even as her heart seemed to grow three sizes at the delighted laugh that escaped Lucy.   The blonde leaned down, pressing her lips to Aurora’s tear stained cheek in a loving gesture before whispering.

“I am so proud of you.”

A big Yu-Gi-Oh Sevens post

New series! Awesome! The new art style will take some getting used to and Yuga’s hair isn’t nearly stupid enough but hey, it should be fun. I like that they’re not introducing a new summoning type as well since the game already had too much of that

This post is going to be mostly speculation about the series, along with just pointing out things that might be interesting

Okay so my first point is about the new art style. I know that it’s had mixed responses but hopefully it along with the simpler character designs means more interesting and dynamic movement. The previous series tended to lack that, and it was really obvious when you compare simpler looking characters like Ai’s movement to the human characters in that show. And hey, it worked for pokemon

The trailer doesn’t exactly show us much though. And hey, I’m just a person on the internet. Maybe I’m completely wrong

Anyway onto the characters. I’m gonna link to this webpage which does a better job summarising the characters than I can. But let’s look at Yuga

This is Yuga and he’s the new protagonist. He’s an inventor and the youngest protagonist yet at 11. But I want to draw your attention to this part of the above webpage’s summary of him

He thinks the Duels run by adults currently are overly rigid and super unfun, so he develops his own rule set that he dreams of entertaining the world with

He makes up his own rules instead of using the official ones. This is exactly how 11 year olds play this game and I love that

Next up: the monsters

On the left is Sevens Road Magician, Yuga’s ace monster. On the right is Rush Dragon Dragears. Both are, perhaps unsurprisingly, level 7 monsters

Sevens Road Magician is a magician monster, which makes Yuga the third protagonist to use some variant of the magician archetype (fourth if you count Yusaku’s Cyberse Magician, but that was only one monster). It also has the dark magical circle in the background, which a quick google search tells me is a thing exclusive to Yugi’s magicians aka the dark magicians. This is extra interesting, considering blue eyes white dragon appears in the trailer

It also only has 2100 attack which is really low for a level 7 monster. It had better have a good effect to make up for this. Also, this is a deviation from the trend of ace monsters having 2500 attack which I know was technically broken first by vrains but decode talker’s effect lets it boost itself to 2500 and also Yusaku’s ace was supposed to be firewall dragon anyway before it was banished to the tcg and ocg banlist for being too overpowered. Flame wingman had 2100 attack, so maybe another ace is coming later on?

You know what does have 2500 attack? Rush Dragon Dragears, which is Luke’s (the blue haired guy) ace. It’s not clear if this guy is the rival or not, but if he is this is also a deviation from the norm since rival’s aces usually have 3000 attack. It could also be that the guy using blue eyes is the rival

The ‘rush’ in the monster’s name probably refers to the new rush duels, and ‘dragears’ is a portmanteau of dragon and gears. ‘Gears’ is notable because Yuga is the inventor, and it’s stated that machines tend to break around Luke

It’s also stated that Yuga calls his inventions ‘roads’ (which is a pun on his name, for anyone curious). My guess is that he somehow invented or at least named Sevens Road Magician, and possibly Rush Dragon Dragears too. It looks like he at least has a connection to the latter monster

The parallels to DM are also very apparent with these two monsters. One has obvious ties to the dark magician archetype and the other is a blue dragon, plus we have a dark spellcaster and a light dragon (or at least, I assume that’s their types. I can’t read Japanese). Needless to say I’m very excited to learn more about them.

Plus, the title king of duels which the characters are fighting for according to the brief plot summary sounds very similar to king of games. Take this with a grain of salt though since 5Ds had the king of riding duels title but was mostly divorced from DM

Now onto rush duels. They seem to be the new gimmick, and I can’t help but compare them to speed duels from vrains. There’ll probably be a mix of master and rush duels in sevens, like how vrains had a mix of speed and master duels. It’s also stated that Yuga is the inventor of rush duels, and their focus is on winning duels quickly. Looks like we’ve come a long way from the 6 episode long duels in DM. I don’t doubt that the length of duels will still be 1 or 2 episodes though

What are rush duels exactly? Basically they’re regular duels except you can normal summon as much as you want in your turn, and at the start of your turn you draw until you have 5 cards in your hand. Special cards with the new layout seen on the earlier cards will be used in this format, so it won’t break the game thank goodness

One of the reasons I liked vrains so much was because their archetypes were really good in the actual game. It’ll be weird going from that to cards that can’t even be used in the TCG unless they get reprinted in the original card format

I am very fond of Sevens Road Magician though. He looks like a very friendly guy

My final point is the the series is probably called sevens because it’s the seventh series. Also the duel disk is shaped like a 7 which is pretty neat

Anyway, that’s all I have to say about the new info we’ve gotten. I guess we’ll have to wait until April so see how much I got right

Susie Campbell knew she saw just the end of it but it was enough to get her legs running and her bare feet thumping the hardwood floor. It wasn’t long before she was yelling but who could blame her? She just saw Sammy being murdered by…Henry, was that his name?

It doesn’t matter what the murderer’s name is- what matters is the police are called and they stop him. Whoever it was he’d killed Sammy with out any show of emotion at all; remembering his deadpan expression Susie felt her body shiver again.

 Remembering that just sent the whole scene to replay in her brain again but it is only in fragments despite having happened only minutes ago. The axe connected with Sammy’s body multiple times before he dropped to the ground. Blood had begun to pool around him and seep in the floor like the ink that would often times leak from the pipes. She knew the guy had hit him more times while on the ground but her mind already began to block the memories for her own sanity. So the dark spaces filled whatever was between Sammy falling to the ground and her throwing her heels off and running away.

She holds a hand over her mouth as she feels the vomit creep up from her stomach. It’s pushed down as she continues her sprinting and lets up on her screaming.

Though not for long because before Susie comprehends the situation she feels a hand grab her shoulder. Lifting her purse and spinning around she slams it into the attacker expecting to see the large dark haired man that killed Sammy behind. Instead the Irish toy maker raises his arms in defense.

“Woah lass! Just tryin’ ta help,” he gave a small patient smile as he saw her distressed look “ I heard your screamin’ decided to investigate. Did a somethin’ happen? Any body try somethin’ nasty? Cause if any of ‘em work down here under me they’ll have some hell to pay!” Susie wasn’t sure if Shawn raises his voice so the other toy makers could hear him or if his voice was just getting louder naturally. Sammy always called Shawn a walking crescendo after all the nickname must have some sort of meaning.

Sammy…

Her adrenaline had taken over earlier that she never even had a chance to cry. So not on her accord her body convulses with sobs. Susie has to sit down for fear of falling over;Shawn sits next to her offering a hand she takes and squeezes.

“Alright, give me a name or description or whatever you can muster- I’ll teach him, or her, a few lessons on manners,” even with his voice softening he’s as loud as ever.

She meant to explain the situation but her voice wavers and is quiet; the only thing she could make out is a soft “Sa-Sammy,”

“Sammy, the cunt,” Shawn curses.

“N-no he got h-hurt, while he- When the-” now that was an understatement but her lips refuses to form the words died.

“Sammy, the brave idiot bastard,” Shawn corrects himself. “Ya need a handkerchief lass ‘cause the best I got is an old rag used fer paint but it should work well enough,” she nods taking the rag in her hand. The two sit there Susie continue to cry until her throat is scratched, eyes are desserts, mouth tastes like the saltiest ocean, and her nose has more snot dripping from it then a sick toddler .

“He got more then hurt Shawn. He’s- well he’s gone,” the word of gone falters and is no more than a whisper.

“What do ya mean- wait, he-” Shawn’s face turns from concern to horrified. “And you saw- oh god Susie! No wonder ya more of a reck then the Titanic!” He wraps his arm around Susie and she ends up burying her face in his shoulder. His jacket smells of alcohol and hotdogs but she doesn’t care; she just needs to be by someone.

“He was killed…. He was killed by someone that works here,” She feels Shawn’s body go stiff from the new found fear.

Wally does his best to keep Henry at bay, which in all honesty is much simpler than he thought it would be. All Henry wants to do is play cards in Toy Department break room, which he refers to as a safe house which coming from the one who’s been murdering people has a layer of irony, and Wally complies to the games. It’s odd that Henry has been referring to him as Boris but he hadn’t attacked Wally…yet. He couldn’t help but have his wits up so Wally kept his tool box near him.

Thomas always told him some tools could be used in multiple ways.

 After a few games of cards Henry gets up and states he’s going to bed (people pass out from exhaustion from time to time so Shawn brought in a few old hammocks). Wally nods but Henry takes a detour over to the door out and rips the switch off the wall without warning. Wally brought out a wrench out and held it behind his back. He’d rather Henry underestimate him so maybe he’ll have a chance of escape. Then Henry’s shoulders slump and he walks over to the room with the hammock.

“So, Henry, I uh…fixed that switch you broke and uh-“

“Hey buddy. Have you seen that lever handle around here? Or are you keeping it hostage until I make you something to eat?”

Now Wally should know better, Henry is an unhinged man that has been on a murder spree, but food is his weakness; and how bad can a murderers food be?

The little voice in the back of his head yelled Henry was going to poison him and an even quieter voice told him if Henry wants him dead he doesn’t need to use poison.

 Shawn guides the mourning voice actress to one of the storage rooms so she can get her bearings; it wasn’t safe in the middle of the hall with no sort of means of defense at least the storage room had shelves to push against the door if need be.

Susie squeezes his hand again and he peers back over at her. The under of her eyes still held a pink-red tinge but the puffiness of the initial tears had already begun to fade. Her expression was a range of emotions that ended up looking, at least from an outsider’s perspective, like one of a confused child.

“ Now here’s a nice stuffy place where we store all the toys and such. Actually pretty empty right now ‘cause we sent a new shipment out to stores- maybe a few plush here and there. The shelves can be used well ta keep us in safety. If ya can help me push ‘em against the doors I’d be appreciative but if ya need to sit down I don’t mind it none-“ He would’ve rambled on if she didn’t interpret him.

“What happened to the rest of my department? Jack, Johnny, Alison..? What about other animators? What about Wally?” She absently asks.

“Well I’m sure that- did ya say Wally?” Shawn feels a new sense of dread overcome him. Sure he didn’t like to hear about anyone getting hurt or being part of the possibly dead but…Wally especially.

“Yes, he tends to work downsword. So he starts cleaning in the animation department,” He already knew all this, Wally told him the even most droll parts of his day, but putting it in the context of a murder walking around it gave a whole new perspective.

“Well Susie, I’m gonna go see how everyone else is managing and try to get a proper…proper idea of the situation,” He states “You’re strong enough to get the shelves down,”.

“Shawn you can’t-“

“Susie, ya mean well you really do but I gotta go see if Wally’s alright. If I see others good but he’s just a trustin’ kind of person and,” Shawn shakes his head “ I gotta go save him,”

“I know you care about your friends but we have to keep ourselves alive or…we just have to trust they can survive too. And shouldn’t the police come here soon?” Her tears began to flow again and Shawn remembers that he found them talking to each other on more than one occasion, sharing stories and gossip.

“Susie…” he took a deep breath the two of them were going to keep it on the down low until next week but “Me and Wally are more than friends,”

“What do you me-“ She stops herself her eyes widening in realization “Shawn, I get it…if Sammy was in trouble I’d- I understand but…just…be safe please,” and with that she gives a last squeeze to his hand.

Henry and Wally were navigating the perfectly lit room with a flashlight. Wally just gives a hopefully-genuine-looking smile and follows. The machinery around them clunks and clanks but Wally barely noticies the noises having blocked them out a long time ago while working with Thomas. Wait, if he’s with Henry right now perhaps Tom and Alison are all right.

 A different sound interrupts; it’s one of following footsteps and it stops them both. Wally looks behind him and sees only a flash of a person; at least the person has the sense to leave in a hurry.

“You hear that?” A second passes Henry already walking away “me neither,”. It sounds so odd, Wally can’t help noticing, he talks so calmly for having killed most of his coworkers. He expected at some point to hear a hint of anger maybe, or sadness, but nothing was ever shown. He squints his eyes as if he truly is looking into the dark.

“Henry, where are you?” Maybe the reason Wally wasn’t attacked was so he could help? He didn’t really believe in that destiny stuff but maybe he could snap Henry out of this.

But Henry doesn’t reply; he just keeps chugging along his deadpan expression never changing.

“First the kid went and ran off ,the pipes are flooding again, and now this whole building is coming apart! And not only that but this time somebody snapped and is going around being the next Lizzie Borden,” Thomas says while kicking a few fallen boards away. Sweat drips off his face and he huffs and puffs.He feels Alison rub his shoulders and he closes his eyes.

“Tom, everything is gonna be alright. We’re going to find Wally, get ahold of some authority, and we’re going to leave,” she says continuing the massage.

“Dear, I love your optimism but…this is not a good situation and people are already dead and-“

“Henry is only one man, if we got everyone together we could easily overpower him if need be,” she states then adds “it’s a little hope but mostly facts,”

“If we get everyone together…hey that’s not a bad idea!” Tom exclaims and Alison giggles from his sudden enthusiasm. The two cheer and exclaim;they are lucky to have each other and forget about their dubious situation even for a minute.

Not everyone is so lucky.

No one would believe Norman Polk if he told the, about the mass murder in the previous departments; why would they? Henry was always the civil one, a little plain but he balanced Joey’s strangeness well. At least until he snapped and started killing all of the band with an already bloody axe; Norman would rather not think of whom he tested the axe on first.

All Norman needs to do is get away from that place, go as far down this elevator will take him. If it was any other day Norman would admire the quality of the elevator as he often did, Thomas did a good job installing it, but at the moment he just needed a minute to calm down. He couldn’t hide away on Level 14 forever but it could by him time while everyone else is fixing the situation. Seems a little cold but Norman is a little too old to be going after murderers. Though he reasons that he needs to work either way, how else was anything going to get done in this place, and Level 14 has projectors he needs to do upkeep on.

He closes his eyes and breathes deeply; just focus on work and not the bodies piled in the band room.

Upon leaving and getting a ways away from the storage space Shawn realizes he never got a proper description of the killer. He assumes covered in blood would be a telling sign but if the lad (or lass, did Susie ever specify?) is even a little smart he’ll change his clothes. Though anyone to just start attacking people out of the blue isn’t necessarily the brightest of the bunch.

“Great job Flynn; tryin’ to stay away from a killer who could look like anything,” He berets himself sighing “just keep focused and find Wally; sure by the time I find him this whole thing has passed over. And he probably wouldn’t even know anything happened,” he tries to chuckle at his partners obliviousness but a feeling that Wally was in trouble refuses to leave him.

Shawn continues to walk through his department hoping he’ll be able to pick out the murder if he sees him.

 Susie keeps trying to tell herself this is the stupidest theory she’s ever conjured up before. She keeps trying to ignore the thoughts whirling In her mind. She tells herself that she saw Sammy die.

“Or did you?” A little voice in the back of her cracks with hope. “You never went over and checked, perhaps he didn’t die, she thought but the realistic voice in her head retorts back,”

“He was hit with an axe at least three times; if he didn’t die from the blows surely from the blood loss. And when you left him he wasn’t moving. He’s dead. Now is the time to move on, one of the stages of grief is denial,” Her inner realist argues. She’s reminded of how his body fell to the floor and he was bleeding and the axe kept hitting him and his eyes were closed and he yelled and-

“So he wasn’t moving, Sammy is a smart man. If he acted dead he would stop being attacked. Let’s go find him,” Susie can’t help but listen to what little hope was in her heart and presses foreword. She didn’t need to stay in that stuffy storage room anyway.

Susie, in the span of less than ten minutes, is lost. She isn’t very familiar with the layout of the lower levels of the studio; actually until today she had only ever traveled as far as the Toy Department’s break room. Now she was wandering around looking for a likely dead man.

How hopeless is this mission? She asks herself feeling her eyes water once again. When would the tears ever sto-

She’s interrupted as a song plays, her own voice filling the empty room. Susie can’t help but whisper the lyrics under her breath, they were truly catchy; Jack is as good as a lyricist as Sammy is a music director.

A sudden click lights the room enough to reveals the contents of the it. For a unknown reason Susie’s stomachs twists into a knot and a chill passes her spine. She continues to whisper the lyrics; now her mind is just playing tricks on her. Certainly just another worker turned on the light, looking for a tool or supplies or

Her breath catches, mid-inhale, in her throat at the sight before her. It’s the man who murdered Sammy, staring directly at her.His visage still holds the same deadpan look, his mouth turned in a slight pout accompanied by half lidded eyes. It is a usual expression that fills the halls of the studio but with the added blood stains that cover him reveal a new depth. Susie steps back not even able to give a fake smile to the murder. His head tilts his dark hair falling to the side before he raises both his fists. She wishes to run but her legs stick to the floor like glue and her face twists to a horrified expression as the window is pounded to oblivion. The glass, the only thing separating the two rooms, shatters to the floor along with dripping blood. Susie fills her lungs and shrieks the highest pitch she’s ever reached; the last note of Alice’s song following right behind.

Her sudden screech doesn’t unfreeze her legs; that’s saved for when the bloody man attempts to walk but he trips on the glass covering the floor. Her body kicks into hard drive as she leaves to run from this man from the second time. Susie swears she heard him calling the name Alice after her but He doesn’t follow her.

At least not that she noticies.

They're ridiculously ahead of schedule, even through all the necessary "shopping trips" Hinata made them take along the way, and Oikawa knows they'll reach the walled city in a few more days, tops. They've been traveling for a little over a week now, and with each step they take, he can almost smell the sea.

"We can rest all of tomorrow if we want," he says, glancing down the highway they'd been walking on. Upturned cars and smoke blur his vision, and the beating rays of sunlight don't help much either. He raises a hand to shield his eyes from the light, narrows them at a highway sign. "But I reckon we don't," he tacks on, "the longer we travel, the dirtier we'll be during the examinations."

Just as he's about to suggest they continue, there's a wrenching sound from behind him, and whirls around to find Hinata slouched over and dry heaving. He rushes over, taking a water bottle from Hinata's pack to push into his hands. Hinata really can't take it anyway, too busy throwing up absolutely nothing. "There, there," Oikawa says, gently patting his head. "It's all good now, Hina-chan," he comforts, pressing the softest of kisses to his forehead. Hinata nods into his chest, and his shaking shoulders slowly come to a stop. "They're going to give us a nice little house, where we'll live together," he says, imagining how good things will be for them now. "We're going to live together forever," he says, and then murmurs, "I love you, y'know?"

Hinata shakes ins his arms again, and Oikawa just barely catches the, "I love you," he mumbles back, before Hinata's dissolving into another quiet cry. All Oikawa does then is run his hands down Hinata's back, brushing Hinata's hair back to press the softest of pecks to his temple.

His head whips around to do a double take, standing on his toes in an effort to see who's being removed, desperate to prove his brain and ears wrong. 

He's about to let it go, push it off as some paranoia, when there's a tuft of orange peeking through all the rubber yellow, wild brown eyes looking around frantically. Oikawa's heart drops, and he's surging forward, hands slamming down on the plastic walls of his medical area, banging on the surface until his medic, and a few others are reaching forward to detain Oikawa. "Where are they taking him?" He shouts, watching as the men in sits wrestle Hinata out of Hinata's medical room, past the waiting lines they'd spent hours in, and out of Oikawa's sight. "Why are they taking him?" He cries, craning his neck in a last attempt to see his Hinata. 

"That patient has been found with traces of the apocalyptic virus in his DNA," someone says, and Oikawa's heart is hammering in his chest, pounding in his ears. 

"No," Oikawa breathes, flashes of Hinata flickering through his mind;  his blindingly bright smile, his bell-like laughter, his brown eyes wide with fear, his clothes drenched in blood, neither of them knowing whose it was, marking it off as a zombie's.
