Notes: Okay, but how did this author write such a compelling storyline that dove into the characters, their mindsets, morals and motivations and have me chomping at the bit for the next part. I'm literally in awe of this kind of writing talent. I loved this story a lot. It's 91 chapters? When? Because I ate that shit up wayyyy too quickly to realize that I read 91 chapters. This was such a fun read and it was fascinating to see the clashes in personality, nationality, morality, locationality, (how many more -ality's can I fit?).

Personally I think that Azula should have been redeemed simply so that she can become Zuko's horrible little advisor who whispers evil little plans to him so that he can do the exact opposite

Something we don't consider enough in Howl!AU zukka. Is Zuko harassing the old man sokka. but he does so with young sokka as well hm...

thinking about how Zuko got kicked out of his home country and, by extension, all formal education, at age 13. and i'm sorry Uncle Iroh but you're not qualified to teach a freshly traumatised 13 y/o algebra. so Zuko only has like, an 8th grade level of maths at most.

I fear that "fire bending didn't come easy to zuko" and "zuko isn't a prodigy" (both true) has somehow snowballed into "zuko is a bad or at best average fire bender".... which simply isn't true, especially by the end of book 3
