Hi, yes poor Kit Connor and all that but don't you contribute to this state of affairs by always emphasising Tim's sexuality and such. Your obsession with an alleged relationship between Tim and Armie is as intrusive.
Hello, Anon:
If you’ve ever actually read my posts, you would find that I do my best to respect their boundaries in that regard. I’m not always perfect but I am mindful of the fact that they are real people with the right to privacy.
I kindly invite you to show me where I have crossed the line and I will delete those posts as they would be wholly antithetical to my personal belief that theirs is not my story to tell.
I can assure you that I’m not in the habit of assuming these specific things about other people who’ve not even had the chance to speak their truth.
That’s simply not my jam, Anon.
Tumblr media
Human beings connect with each other in ways that don’t always have to be romantic or sexual, and I’m not entirely sure how I “emphasize Tim’s sexuality” in this blog. I’m simply looking for signs of connection, that’s all.
And that connection could be strictly platonic, brotherly, as peers, colleagues, artists in the same craft, as close friends who care deeply about each other in a beautiful, heartwarming way. This might not apply to some of my mutuals, but it truly doesn’t matter to me how they choose to define their relationship. Knowing that it exists is enough for me.
I would just love to see them together again in some way, to know that their connection is alive and thriving. Because they literally bloom in each other’s presence. I want for them to feel for each other the same joy we feel when we see them together.
And who wouldn’t want THAT, Anon?
Thanks for your comment. 🤘💚✨💙💪

not to sound like a boomer, but I need some people to learn how to write emails in a semi-professional (at the very least) format so you're not cold emailing a business/potential employer/any other stranger about formal matters in the exact same way you'd DM a close friend on instagram
the formality/language can loosen up in the email chain once you've established a rapport and you match the other person if they're being less formal, but please don't have the very first email you send a stranger be written in all lowercase ultra-casual sms slang with no greeting or signature and a billion emojis

JUSTINE is Still My Highest Reviewed Book
After publishing my first memoir, Not-My-Story-to-Tell, readers wanted more. Some said the book was too short and they wanted to know more about Justine’s life. I decided to write a sequel and include happier times. I titled this book, JUSTINE. I didn’t make a paperback version this time due to cost and I wasn’t sure it would be as well-liked. It’s been getting solid reviews and has even gotten…

So Venus is my favorite planet in the solar system - everything about it is just so weird.
Tumblr media
It has this extraordinarily dense atmosphere that by all accounts shouldn't exist - Venus is close enough to the sun (and therefore hot enough) that the atmosphere should have literally evaporated away, just like Mercury's. We think Earth manages to keep its atmosphere by virtue of our magnetic field, but Venus doesn't even have that going for it. While Venus is probably volcanically active, it definitely doesn't have an internal magnetic dynamo, so whatever form of volcanism it has going on is very different from ours. And, it spins backwards! For some reason!!
But, for as many mysteries as Venus has, the United States really hasn't spent much time investigating it. The Soviet Union, on the other hand, sent no less than 16 probes to Venus between 1961 and 1984 as part of the Venera program - most of them looked like this!
Tumblr media
The Soviet Union had a very different approach to space than the United States. NASA missions are typically extremely risk averse, and the spacecraft we launch are generally very expensive one-offs that have only one chance to succeed or fail.
It's lead to some really amazing science, but to put it into perspective, the Mars Opportunity rover only had to survive on Mars for 90 days for the mission to be declared a complete success. That thing lasted 15 years. I love the Opportunity rover as much as any self-respecting NASA engineer, but how much extra time and money did we spend that we didn't technically "need" to for it to last 60x longer than required?
Anyway, all to say, the Soviet Union took a more incremental approach, where failures were far less devastating. The Venera 9 through 14 probes were designed to land on the surface of Venus, and survive long enough to take a picture with two cameras - not an easy task, but a fairly straightforward goal compared to NASA standards. They had…mixed results.
Venera 9 managed to take a picture with one camera, but the other one's lens cap didn't deploy.
Venera 10 also managed to take a picture with one camera, but again the other lens cap didn't deploy.
Venera 11 took no pictures - neither lens cap deployed this time.
Venera 12 also took no pictures - because again, neither lens cap deployed.
Lotta problems with lens caps.
For Venera 13 and 14, in addition to the cameras they sent a device to sample the Venusian "soil". Upon landing, the arm was supposed to swing down and analyze the surface it touched - it was a simple mechanism that couldn't be re-deployed or adjusted after the first go.
This time, both lens caps FINALLY ejected perfectly, and we were treated to these marvelous, eerie pictures of the Venus landscape:
Tumblr media
However, when the Venera 14 soil sampler arm deployed, instead of sampling the Venus surface, it managed to swing down and land perfectly on….an ejected lens cap.

I think that one thing people fail to understand is that unsolicited literary criticism coming from an online stranger who is reading with no knowledge of what the authors intended goal is, is not going to be received the same as say: the authors beta reader or friends who know what the authors intended goal and has the sufficient knowledge and input to help the author reach that desired outcome.
"But I'm only trying to be helpful" How do I know you have the knowledge and literary skill for you to be able to actaully do that when we don't know each other and you are essentially a stranger to me? Are you applying this criticism based out of personal biased experience and desire to see the story or characterization be driven in another direction or tweaked, or do you know the author's intentions for the character? If the story is incomplete, are you basing your criticism of a character on the incomplete narration with only partial information available of them or are you building up a report until the story's completion? Did the author provide you with the information needed to make a fully informed criticism?
Have you discussed with the author what their plans are or are you assuming them based off the narration, especially if the narration is proven or implied to be unreliable or missing key points of the plot? Are you unbiased enough to help them reach their desired outcome for the characters and story regardless of your personal feelings towards the characters/antagonists and setting? Can you handle being told your specific input isn't wanted because you're a reader and/or have no written anything relating to their genre or topic? Do you understand and respect that the author's personal experiences might influence their writing and make it different than how you would have done it personally? Do you understand if an author only wants input from a specific demographic relating to their story?
If it's for fanfiction or other hobby media, are you holding a free hobby to a professional standard? Are you trying to give criticism because you feel like the author has produced 'subpar job performance' of their fic? Are you viewing their work as a personal intimate outlet or something that must conform with mass media? Are you applying rules and guidelines when the fic is shared for simple sharing sake? Is your criticism worded appropriately and focused on the parts where the author has requested input on rather than a general dismissal and or disapproval?
Have you put yourself in a place where you assumed you have the input needed for the story to evolve better, or have you asked what the author needs and what they're having trouble with? Can you handle having your criticism rejected if the author decides their story doesn't need the change and not take it as a personal offense against your character? Are you crossing that boundary because you think you are doing the author a favor? Are you trying to be helpful, or do you just want to be?
I think sometimes when people hear authors go 'please don't give me unsolicited writing advice or criticism' they automatically chalk it up to 'this author doesn't want ANY constructive feedback on their stuff at all' and not "i already have trusted individuals who will help me with my writing goals and- hey i don't know you like that, please stop acting so overly familiar with me'

i know that chilchuck saying there's not much interesting for him to say about his daughters and then saying, like, two sentences about each is Very In Character but what would have been funnier is if he was like. hm. it's not very interesting. and then smash cutting to, like, five hours later and he's still going on about them (marcille listens attentively with sparkly eyes. we've done it. we've found how to make him talk)

wish list for people who don’t want anything
aka possessions which are just possessions, but which have noticeably improved my quality of life: for when people ask you “what do you want for your birthday/Christmas/graduation” and you instantly transform into St Francis and pledge fealty to Lady Poverty because your mind went blank
nice. new. sheets. I cannot emphasize this one enough. if you’re still using the same sheets you had in college, you should probably get new ones. get yourself some 100% bamboo rayon sheets—they're silky and perfect for summer and great for sensitive skin! or, if you’re cold all the time, flannel sheets!
kitchen knives. or even just one really good kitchen knife.
new curtains—blackout if you are a creature of the night like I am
fleece lined anything, but especially sweatpants and hoodies. wool lined socks are also good. if you don’t have the option of coming home after work and putting on an entire outfit that is loose and fuzzy, you should change that, because you deserve that option.
cookie sheets with a layer of air between the top and the bottom. the bottoms of your cookies will never burn again.
kitchen scale!!! no more leveling off flour with a knife and getting it all over the table!! now all your measuring is just shoveling stuff in and out of bowls like you’re at the beach. baking is both more accurate and also way more fun.
coffee bean grinder. if you want to upgrade your coffee experience, this is a great one-time purchase. just-ground beans have a much better flavor than pre-ground.
CDs!! ask for a gift card and expand your physical music collection! or a collection of the DVDs for your favorite show!

Its funny because many people who are up in arms about the way Kit was treated (horribly btw) will turn around and post some interesting things about T and A... but respect privacy and no one should be forced to come out..... the double standard in the Fandom right now is yikes!
Hello, Anon:
I have said time and again that theirs is not my story to tell, for exactly this reason. Reserving skepticism for Charmie until we know any actual facts regarding this wonderful friendship also makes me something of an outlier in the fandom. I’m not a perfect Charmie, nor have I ever claimed to be.
In the safe space of this tumblr fandom, as a fan in my own blog, I am free to speculate, to fantasize, to dream this beautiful dream. I know that so many of us on this ship would love nothing more than to see them as Elio and Oliver IRL.
The fact of the matter is that we simply do not know, and we may never know, the truth.
And that’s okay.
This is why I hesitate to reblog overly bold Charmie declaration posts and manips that would cross anyone’s personal boundaries if they were real photos. I do blog about and reblog signs that might support the Charmie premise. I’m always looking for signs, kismet, winks from TheUniverse™️, of which there have been many, imho.
That still doesn’t give me the right to force the issue, not especially on a public platform. We fans do not own them. They don’t owe us anything. They have a right to privacy and boundaries that must be respected, just as any of us would, as human beings.
I think sometimes we fans forget this, Anon.
Is it any of our business how anyone chooses to define their close connections? Why should it even matter? Love is love love. That’s what matters.
No labels required.
Thanks for your comment. 🤘💚✨💙💪

Book Reviews
Authors rely on book reviews to boost our algorithm. Whenever someone leaves a review, it bumps our book up the ladder, so more people see it, hopefully buy it and review it. Self-published or Indy authors, like myself, don’t make much money. It’s really just a few dollars for each sale and to be honest, we give many books away, hopping to get that coveted review. A review doesn’t have to be…
