When he is not augmented by the Prototype Virus, Wesker focuses on disarming his opponents, using their bodies against them, and placing them upon their backs. Even in combat, he views everyone but those he respects as below him. To this day, there is only a small group of people that have gained his respect, "admiration," or favor: Leon S. Kennedy, Ada Wong, Jill Valentine, Rebecca Chambers, & Chris Redfield.

Wesker has also braided his own bullwhip: it is short, black, of about 4 feet in length, and is shot loaded. He wove it out of paracord and has been using the same whip since the early, intense physical fitness program he was involved in during Project W. The whip has a holster at his hip, or can even be worn around his belt, snugged in his belt loops. When he fights with it, he usually uses a knife also to fend off attackers. Typically, the whip only comes out when he is fighting multiple individuals, or if he needs to use it to scare off wildlife. This whip was used often in his lab when dealing with different animals. He became Chief of Security for Umbrella because he could defend himself as a researcher, especially in the predominant animal-focused Arklay Mountains laboratory.

He has trained on a variety of weapons and fighting styles, having to do so for the fitness program he was thrust into during his time at Project W.

He is an excellent marksman, a crack shot, and in the time as a Special Forces officer and spy, he was also an accomplished sniper providing detachment support.

At STARS, he prefers using the "Samurai Edge," a Beretta 92F custom semi-automatic pistol, and carries a combat knife. He still uses the Samurai Edge after he leaves STARS.

He is an exceptionally skilled martial artist. His fighting style seems to comprise of Karate, Animal Styles of Kung Fu, Taekwondo, Jujitsu, Muay Thai, Judo, Aikido, and Capoeira, though he also loves using Krav Maga, also. His main animal styles of Kung Fu include: The Snake, The Crane, & The Tiger, as from this lovely post.
