i dont think thor would adjust to having one eye in a fight that quick i think his aim should've kept being off and he should've nearly wandered off the bifrost edge by accident while trying not to turn his neck too far to make up for the loss of sight range
#and hela should've laughed about it#:'(#like sure I can believe the lightning aims on it's own a little but he should've had to retrain i think#not just with the lightning powers without mjolnir but down an eye as well??#Statesman training arc where#I want Thor to get frustrated having to adjust and Loki sparring with him to help him out with it#Val can be there too but she'd just beat Thor up and call it a day

Posted: 10th February 2021
⚡ Bolts of Pleasure ⚡
You leant your head on the cold, marble worktop - the coolness easing the pressure of the already lingering tension head ache. How could he stand you up? Today of all day's.
Somewhere in the distance, over the sound of your own thoughts, you barely hear the sound of the main door sliding open. Nonchalantly wondering who it could be, you knew it wasn't Tony because he was out at dinner with Pepper and you knew this because you were supposed to be there too - a double date.
Something Pepper had organised because she was the one who set you up with that prick in the first place - you can't even bring yourself to say his name. You should've known dating anyone who wasn't involved in anything within the headquarters would end in trouble anyway.
You assumed the other couples would be out doing other romantic bullshit while you were sure all the other guys were on a mission. So who the hell could it be?
The kitchen doors opened behind you and by the sounds of the unmistakably heavy foot fall, it was definitely Thor. Neither of you said anything for a noticeably long pause, you didn't even bother to move your head off of the kitchen worktop.
"You do know it's the day of the valentine's, don't you?" Comes Thors booming voice from behind you, trust him to state the obvious.
"Valentine's Day and yes of course I do, why do you think I'm here? Alone. Banging my head against the counter."
"Please don't do that, I don't want you to hurt yourself" he says with a sincerity in his voice.
"Sarcasm just goes straight over your head doesn't it?" You say, finally standing up to face Thor just so he could see you rolling your eyes at him. You know the statement would be lost to him if he couldn't see your facial expressions.
"Not much can go over my head without me seeing it first, but yes if you say so" ok so even seeing your facial expression didn't work this time. You laugh out loud at his lack of understanding.
"Oh Thor, you do know how to cheer me up"
"Good. Now you may proceed with your head banging if you so wish"
Have you always found his ditziness to be so cute or is this a new occurance?
"I'm going to put my head back down but only because I have a banging headache, these pills should kick in soon. Besides now you're here you might as well keep me company" This made Thor smile from ear to ear as you resumed your earlier position.
Unbeknownst to you Thor had walked in to the room to find you bent over, your delicious ass accentuated by those tight leather trousers you were wearing. He'd been hoping to find you here alone, once he'd heard about you being stood up, but wasn't quite sure how to handle how he found you. If he had his way he would have just walked over and made his move straight away but he'd been taught how things work differently here and he's been working so hard on his restraint.
Now you're bent over again and it's making his mind go blank, all he can think about is how he wants to shove his dick into you while he grabs on to those voluptuous cheeks.
"Thor?" You ask wondering why he's still stood by the doors.
Fuck, the way you say his name makes his fingertips tingle with bolts of electrical current. He wants to hear you scream his name while he's pulling your hair back and slamming his dick between those cheeks until he's balls deep.
"Your trousers are very tight" You hear Thor's footsteps stop behind you and before you can mutter something about him stating the obvious a moan escapes your lips as a slight bolt of electric soars through your core. Where did that come from?
Thor still hadn't quite got to grips with controlling his power while he was in the moment - maybe something to do with all the testosterone. His eyes widened, shocked by your reaction but the way he elicited that moan spurred him to continue.
Thor's hands were still gripping your ass as you got your bearings, realising where the shock came from and not hating the idea. You wanted more.
Moving his hands to your hips as you pushed yourself on to his straining cock, gripping on tightly while he pushed himself against you - his head hanging back as he bit his bottom lip and felt the lightning electrify his body.
Fuck me. If you knew sex with Thor would be this amazing you would've made sure it happened a lot sooner. You could feel his body tingling, like a vibration as the currents circulated through his veins,
flowing with the blood into his rather large appendige.
Thor slapped your ass again, accidentally catching your slit with his fingertips. Your pussy clenched as another bolt of pleasure went through you.
"Shit, Thor" you moaned deeply making him groan with desperation.
He's wanted to hear you saying his name, like that, for a while now and isn't disappointed with the way it sounds falling from your lips. Now he won't stop until your screaming his name, begging for him to fuck you into oblivion.
You pushed yourself against his now rock hard cock craving the feel of him inside of you. The vibration hits your clit and sends you over the edge, making you tremble and your knees go weak as you come, hard. Feeling dizzy as you come down.
Thor catches you as you buckle, turning you around and pushing you up against the counter. Your eyes are hooded with need as he handles your body, gripping at your curves with his electric fingers.
Your body jerks everytime he touches you, little does he know that with every touch your pussy clenches building up that deep orgasm once again. Thor's powers leave other men at a major disadvantage, how can anyone ever live up to this. Even worse, how can you now be around Thor without thinking about what he can do to you every time you see him.
His hand travels hungrily up your top, straight to your nipples while his lips attach to yours. You can feel his facial hair tickling your upper lip, a whole new sensation to your already tingling body.
Thor takes your tender, erect nipples between his thumb and forefinger. Squeezing gently as he emits tiny shocks and watches as you convulse around him, small, soft whimpers leaving your mouth involuntarily.
"Mmm, Thor. Fuck" you can't stand the tension much longer.
He's in awe with how much he can pleasure you with just the touch of his fingers. If he'd known it would be this easy to make your usual fiesty self, submit so easily, he wouldn't have been quite so intimidated by you. Look at you now, quivering under his touch, he's pretty sure your seconds away from fully giving yourself to him. He stops touching you, waiting to see how you'll react, testing his theory.
"Don't stop" you moan, pushing your heat against him as his hands grab your ass.
"Tell me what you want, my love" he whispers seductively against your ear, almost making you come.
"Oh god, do that again" you whine into his neck, wrapping your arms around his neck and savouring the other worldly scent of the god of thunder.
"Do what? My sweet - " his breath tickles your ear as he whispers again, he knows exactly what you want. Nibbling gently on your earlobe as you struggle to hold up the weight of your head, crumbling beneath him. " - Now, tell me what you want"
"I want you. Fuck me Thor, fuck me hard" leaning back on your hands with your lips parted.
"I thought you'd never ask" he growls, his voice becoming impossibily deeper.
Trying to pull down those tight trousers is going to take way too long and he doesn't have the patience for that. Instead he reaches out and effortlessly slits the gusset in half. Unable to contain himself when he sees how wet you are.
You reach down to unbuckle his belt, he's watching you intently, his cock straining against his trousers. You pull them down, just enough to watch his cock spring up, with a weapon like that he has no need for the Mjolnir. You instinctively want to take it in your mouth but there's no time for that now. You lean backwards, watching as he lines his cock up with your entrance. He stops, pausing for an agonisingly long time, watching your face screw with need.
Thor can see how much you want him and he's savouring the moment, relishing in it. Not forgetting how he wants to hear you beg for him, waiting patiently.
You look at him expectantly, grinding yourself forward until you can feel the tip of his cock.
"Thor, please!" You plead embarrassingly, desperately.
That's all he needed to hear before he painfully, slowly eased himself into your tight pussy. Inhaling deeply as your walls clamped around him. Finally feeling the warmth of your insides, a feeling he's been craving since the first time he met you.
You laid back on to the counter while he gripped your thighs, holding them up as he slammed his cock deep into you, the pressure building as he relentlessly pounds you. Those bolts of pleasure sending shocks shooting through your veins, with every thrust.
Thor held onto your thighs tightly, gripping his thumbs into your flesh while he ravages you. Months and months of pent up frustration finally being released. Grunting as he thrusted the brutal strength of his passion into you with force, loving the way your face contorts with every hit of your spot.
"Thor!" You scream his name as you gush all over his cock when he hits your spot, hard, repeatedly.
Your finally screaming his name, hopefully not for the last time. He watches the way your third orgasm builds, clenching around him as your legs shake in his hands.
How could it be the only time, when this is what he does to you? You're a dripping mess by the time he's ready. The gripping sensation rising as your climaxes peak again, releasing sparks of lightning all around you. Pushing his cock deep inside you as he shoots his warm, powerful load into you.
Your hair clings to your face as you fall back onto the counter, your body feels like jelly and you can't move just yet. Your eyes are closed but you can feel Thor still holding your legs while he waits for you to recover, gently tickling your thighs with his thumb.
"I've wanted to do that for such a long time, would you be willing to make love with me again?" He says smiling widely, hardly breathelss at all - the stamina of a god!
"You can do that again?" You say breathlessly, impressed with his enthusiasm.
"I can go all night, my love. I am the god of thunder" he says proudly, puffing out his chest.
"You certainly are"

OUT OF TIME MASTERLIST
IT’S ALWAYS BEEN YOU MASTERLIST
< previous chapter
Word Count: 2,320ish
Summary: The final battle begins....
Notes: You must read Out Of Time in order to understand this. The chapter numbers continue from Out Of Time.
Y/N was lost in the midst of the chaos. Her unconscious body getting caught in one of the lower levels of the rubble. Tony was up first, searching for Y/N. He found the shield and Steve instead.
“Come on, buddy,” Tony urged, kneeling beside his brother-in-law. “Wake up.” Steve groaned, coming to. “That’s my man.” Tony held the shield up. “You lose this again, I’m keeping it.”
“What happened?” Steve asked.
“You messed with time. It tends to mess back. You’ll see.” Tony helped Steve to his feet.
“Where’s Y/N?”
“I was hoping she was with you. FRIDAY?”
“I am searching for her location, boss” FRIDAY responded.
“Please tell me that she’s alive."
“She has to be,” Steve said. “The Stones won’t allow anything to happen to her.”
“I’ve located Mrs. Stark,” FRIDAY announced. “She’s underneath the rubble.”
“Great, where?” Tony pressed.
“Tony,” Steve said, “maybe we need to deal with—“
“Deal with what?! Your sister—my wife is down there in who knows what kind of condition! We—I need to get to her!”
“Boss,” FRIDAY interrupted, “I don’t know if Y/N would see that as the best idea.”
“What?! Why are you choosing now to talk back, FRIDAY?”
“Because Thanos is here. Thor is currently watching him not too far from where you are.” Steve and Tony made eye contact.
“Y/N can protect herself,” Steve told his worried friend. “The she’ll be fine because the Stones need her.”
Tony nodded and the two walked out of the rubble they were in. They found Thor intensely watching Thanos, who was sitting on something not too far off.
“What’s he been doing?” Tony asked.
“Absolutely nothing,” Thor answered.
“Where are the Stones?” Steve questioned.
“Probably somewhere under all this,” Tony responded. “FRIDAY’s looking. All I know is he doesn’t have them.”
“So we keep it that way.”
“You know it’s a trap, right?” Thor said.
“Yeah,” Tony agreed. “And I don’t much care.”
“Good. Just as long we are all in agreement.” Thor stretched out both hands as thunder cracked. He summoned both Stormbreaker and Mjolnir, which he had stolen during the time heist. HIs casual clothes transformed into his armor and cape, with his beard forming into a braid. “Let’s kill him properly this time.”
The three walked down the rubble towards Thanos. All of them were very serious and ready to end this once and for all.
“You could not live with your own failure. And where did that bring you? Back to me,” Thanos stated, as the three heroes slowly moved to surround him. “I thought by eliminating half of life, the other half would thrive. But you’ve shown me that’s impossible. And as long as there are those that remember what was, there will always be those that are unable to accept what can be. They will resist.”
“Yep. We’re all kinds of stubborn,” Tony replied.
“I'm thankful. Because now, I know what I must do.” Thanos stood. “I will shred this universe down to its last atom.” He placed his helmet on his head. "And then– With the stones you've collected for me, create a new one. Teeming with life, but knows not what it has lost but only what it has been given.” Thor began crackling with lightning. “A grateful universe.”
“Born out of blood,” Steve said.
“They'll never know it. Because you won't be alive to tell them.”
And the fighting began.
~~~
Y/N groaned as she came to. Her head was pounding, it had obviously been hit during the chaos. She was breathing heavily as she took in her surroundings. There was a large metal beam trapping her against broken concrete.
“Hello!” She called out. “Is anyone there?”
No response. And she instantly regretted not putting a comms device in her ear. Y/N grunted as she tried to push the beam off of her, failing. Looking up, she studied the rubble barely hanging on above her. She needed to be careful or it was going to completely crush her.
“Use us,” a rough voice whispered to her in her head. “Use us.”
“It has always taken a lot from me to control you,” Y/N responded, aloud. “How am I suppose to do what I have to if I’m weak?”
“You’ll be fine.”
“What the hell am I even supposed to do anyway?”
“When the time comes, you will know.”
“You guys are incredibly unhelpful, you know?” She groaned as she tried to wiggle herself free again, without help from the Stones.
“You are wasting time.”
“Fine!” Y/N huffed.
She closed her eyes and tried to focus on the Stones.
~~~
“Okay, Thor! Hit me!” Tony exclaimed, the back of his suit opening up.
Thor banged his 2 weapons together, each loaded with lightning, and aimed them at the back of Tony’s suit. The Iron Man suit sucked up the energy and he shot it out at Thanos using his hands and body. Thanos twirled his blade really fast to divert the energy. Thor grabbed Stormbreaker and used it to bat Mjolnir to hit Thanos. Thanos used Tony as a shield, knocking him out and away.
“Boss, wake up!” FRIDAY pled.
Steve tried to attack Thanos but was easily shielded away. Thor’s attack was quickly blocked by Thanos’ sword. Thanos grabbed onto Thor and lifts him up by the neck, choking him, before slamming him down and punching him. Mjolnir is flicked away as Thanos relentlessly beats up Thor, throwing him into a tree and socking him before throwing Thor over rubble and socking him again. Thor tried to grab Stormbreaker but Thanos grabbed it and used it against Thor.
Form not too far off, Mjolnir began to float off the ground. Thanos was digging Stormbreaker into Thor, when suddenly Mjolnir flies into Thanos. It zoomed past, stopped, and then flew back the way it came. Both Thanos and Thor looked back in amazement as Steve wields the hammer.
“I knew it!” Thor said.
Frustrated, Thanos kicked Thor to the ground. Steve charged at the Titan, swinging Mjolnir, and hitting him in the face, knocking him down. Steve threw his shield and Thanos deflected. Steve threw Mjolnir to his shield, creating a shockwave and knocking Thanos off his feet.
Steve then threw his shield at Thanos, quickly hitting it back at the Titan again with Mjolnir. He lined his arm up with Thanos to channel lightning his way.
Thanos eventually got the upper hand, removing his helmet. He stabbed Steve’s leg and knocked Mjolnir out of the Captain’s hand. Thanos proceeded to destroy Steve’s shield with his double-bladed Soward and threw him across the battlefield. Steve staggeredly tried to get up.
“In all my years of conquest, violence, slaughter,” Thanos said, “it was never personal. But I’ll tell you now, what I’m about to do to your stubborn, annoying little planet—I’m gonna enjoy it. Very, very much.”
The entirety of Thanos’ army was then summoned to the ground. Upon seeing the army descending onto Earth, Steve slowly got back to his feet. With a fierce determination, he tightened his broken shield to his arm and stood against the army. Alone. Suddenly, a crackling came in on his comm.
“Hey, Cap, you read me?”
Steve stopped and looked around.
“Cap, it’s Sam. Can you hear me?”
A portal began to form behind the Captain.
“On your left.”
Steve looked behind to see the portal on his left side. Three figures stepped through; Okoye, Shuri, and T’Challa, all ready to fight. Sam then zoomed in from above. As he did, dozens of more portals opened up all around the battlefield. Through one of the portals, Doctor Strange appeared, joined by Drax, Mantis, Star Lord, and Spider-Man. Everyone on the battlefield watched in confusion and awe as more and more heroes arrive through the portals from all the corners of the universe.
Giant-Man (Scott) appeared out of the rubble with Rhodey, Bruce, and Rocket. Every one was lining up behind the Captain, all the teams and armies that Strange and the other sorcerers brought in to help. Tony was sitting up, finally coming around from the hit on his head. Suddenly, the ground in front of him began to tremble and crack. He pushed himself back as something blasted through it and into the sky. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was his wife.
Y/N was glowing with the power of the Stones. Each of the colors were circling around her, all six colors clearly defined. She slowly set herself down in front of Tony, the power fading away as she rushed to him.
“Tony! Are you okay?” She worried as she helped him to his feet.
“Am I okay?” He questioned. “You just shot up from the ground. You were glowing!”
“I’m okay. I’m ready to finish this. Once and for all.”
Tony pulled her in for a desperate kiss. Like he was terrified it would be their last. Y/N quickly reciprocated the desperation.
“I love you,” Tony breathed out as he pulled away.
“I love you too,” she responded.
They turned to join the group of heroes. Tony suited all the way up, while Y/N began to channel the Stones.
“AVENGERS!” Steve shouted, everyone gearing up as she summoned Mjolnir. “Assemble.”
Thor made a battle cry, as did T’Challa, and the heroes charged towards the opposing army. Thanos raised his sword towards the Avengers, signaling his army to charge as well. As the two armies collided, everyone short of paired up. Tony and Y/N were working together, keeping each other safe. Steve and Thor were doing the same thing, both switching off weapons. Steve had Stormbreaker in his hand while Thor had Mjolnir.
“No, no, give me that,” Thor said, tossing Mjolnir to Steve and signaling for Stormbreaker. “You have the little one.”
Steve passed Stormbreaker over and the two nodded to each other before running back into the battle. Y/N and Tony had gotten separated. Y/N could sense the Stones and knew she needed to get to them before Thanos did. It seemed that Thanos and his army knew that and were sending their biggest creatures to slow her down.
Despite her trying, Y/N was thrown down, plowing through the ground. She was panting, and groaning in pain. The creature stalked towards her as she tried to get back up. It raised its claws above its head and was just about to ship down on Y/N when someone stepped in-between her and the creature and killed it. Y/N inhaled sharply, still slightly panting, as she took in her hero. Bucky had turned, looking down at her with those eyes she had fallen in love with. But it wasn’t the same anymore. Y/N now knew that she was over him, though he would always have a place in her heart.
“Bucky,” she breathed out.
“Hey, doll,” he smiled softly, helping her off the ground.
“Bucky.”
“Yeah, it’s me.”
“Bucky.” She practically jumped on him, hugging him tightly. He held her close. “We did it… you’re back.”
“I’m back. Though it’s been mere seconds for me.”
Y/N pulled away. The two studied each other’s faces. Y/N was trying to figure out how to say what she needed to. Bucky was studying her, knowing what she needed to say.
“It’s okay,” he whispered. “I kept you waiting too many times. I get it.”
Tears pooled in her eyes. “I’m so sorry.”
“Don’t be. You’re happy, right? He treats you right?”
“Yes. He treats me like a queen. We have a daughter. Morgan Howard Stark.”
“Howard?” Bucky chuckled lightly.
“Yeah, I was hesitant on it too. But Tony did some pretty good persuading.”
“I’m happy for you. Really.”
“Thank you.”
“Hey! Can you two old people stop catching up and come help us with the fight?” Sam exclaimed over the comms.
“Be right there,” Y/N responded. She shot out her hand to the side, blasting a creature into pieces. “Thanks for the save though, Buck. But I could have handled it.” She smirked before running off.
~~~
Tony was fighting by himself, creatures and one of the Children of Thanos were after him. He was punched at the ground and he was going to get back up when Giant Man stopped on the Child of Thanos. Peter swung in, immediately going to help Tony up.
“Hey! Holy cow! You will not believe what's been going on. Do you remember when we were in space? And I got all dusty?” Peter rambled after both his and Tony’s helmets disappeared. Tony was looking at Peter, trying not to brake out in a total grin. “I must've passed out, Because I woke up, and you were gone. But Doctor Strange was there, right? He was like, "It's been five years. Come on, they need us." And then he started doing the yellow sparkly thing that he does all the time–“
Tony took steps towards the teen. “He did?” He mumbled. “Oh, no.” He opened his arms and pulled the teen into him. “Hold me.”
“What are you doing?” Peter hugged back. Tony slapped Peter’s back and closed his eyes, holding him tighter. “Oh, this is nice.”
Y/N had noticed the two and had allowed them some time while she fought off the army. Finally, she was done. She landed behind them.
“Okay, boys, party’s over,” she commented.
“Y/N!” Peter exclaimed, rushing over to hug her.
“Hey, Peter,” she welcomed him into her arms. “I’m so glad you’re back. Now,” she pulled away, “keep fighting.”
“On it!” His helmet closed and he swung away.
The couple watched before making eye contact.
“We did it,” Tony whispered, coming closer to his wife.
“But it’s not over yet,” Y/N replied. She leaned in and kissed him. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Warnings: Nothing for this chapter
Synopsis: Thor has lost a lot in a very short period of time and he’s worried about losing himself too. He goes to the one person who understands loss.
Chapter 7
After Thor had told Loki the whole story of everything that had happened since Loki had taken the Tesseract and run, marking the point this Loki diverged from Thor’s life, the trickster god had been quiet and introspective. He wandered around the large space that made up your cottage on the hill, inspecting the hoards of items that had found their way to you.
He didn’t participate in any further discussion about how Mjolnir might be repaired, and he’d wander off and return at random intervals. Over the course of the day, Thor found him gathering a strange collection of items together by the couch he’d been sleeping on. Thor didn’t take a very close look but he did notice a collection of jewelry with large crystals in the settings, some pressed flowers, a collection of mismatched jars, some half-melted decorative candles, and a collection of keys.
Thor was suspicious of his brother. He’d learned from experience that he should always expect even the least possible outcomes when Loki was around, and this particular version of his brother was the one who still had raw and open wounds from fighting with his family and finding out the truth about his heritage. Thor left him alone though, most of his attention turned to the repair of his hammer.
There was talk about going to Nidavellir. There were many reasons that that might not work. For starters; it was a lot to ask of Eitri now he was alone and without the use of his hands. Besides, the dwarf had already made one weapon for Thor, and Thor was reluctant to ask for more. Even if he did, it wouldn’t be quick. A new mold for Mjolnir would have to be made, and the forge would need to be repaired. Thor was fine with staying and helping as long as he could, but he couldn’t expect you and Loki to do that. Not to mention, if he did that, would it even be Mjolnir anymore or just a new hammer made from the old metal?
The other option was to see if it was possible to repair it here using a mixture of each of your abilities. You seemed to think it might be possible by using Loki’s magic, your powers to gather lost objects, and Thor’s lightning. The question was if it was possible to hold all the tiny fragments in their correct place and would it be weaker due to the thousands of joins?
“It’s your choice, Thor,” you said. “She belongs to you. Only you can decide how to repair her.”
He looked over at his brother, he’d returned to the couch with another assortment of items. This time he seemed to add a leather-bound notebook, an ancient-looking quill, and some equally ancient coins.
“I suppose repairing it would be best,” Thor said, finally. “If that fails I can always take the pieces to Nidavellir, but repairing it here will be something we can try sooner, and it would mean that it would be my Mjolnir. Perhaps not as pristine as it once was - but I am a little worse for wear too.”
You leaned over and kissed him gently. “I will miss you when you leave.”
“Who said I was leaving?” Thor asked.
You shrugged. “You’ll wither if you stay here with me. You know that as well as I do.”
Thor didn’t say anything for a moment. He did know it was true, but he wasn’t ready to go yet, and he dreaded leaving you now that he’d found you. “Well, not today,” he said brightly, breaking the silence. “Loki! Brother, come here.”
Loki slunk into the room and looked him over. “You summoned me,” he deadpanned.
“You know that’s not how I meant it,” Thor argued. “I just wanted to speak to you about Mjolnir. Do you have a spell you can use that will help us hold it together?”
“About that,” Loki said, taking a seat. “I’ve been considering your -” he waved his hand around as he tried to summon the correct word. “- Circumstance,” he settled on eventually. “I want to gift you this -” he flicked his wrist and seemed to reach into space itself before pulling out his horned helm. Or at least one of them.
“What would I do with your crown, Loki? I have my own helm,” he asked. “Though I do appreciate the gift.”
“I don’t expect you to wear it, but it is Uru and it was crafted in Asgard. It contains its own magical properties that might be useful,” he said. “If we melt it down, you can use it as the glue to hold Mjolnir together.” He waved his hand again like he was trying to avoid something unpleasant. “Besides, I have many.”
Thor was genuinely touched by the gesture. Tears pricked his eyes and he went to pull Loki into a bear hug. Loki was ready for him though and he pushed his chair back, avoiding the embrace. “Control yourself, brother,” Loki teased. “I’m not done.”
Thor looked at him curiously, picking up the helm from the table and turning it over in his hands. “What else have you been scheming?”
“Scheming, brother? That makes it sound so base level,” he said. “But I have been working on something.” He paused and tapped his fingers on the table like he was considering how best to phrase his plan. Thor was used to that look, it usually meant there was some trickery to it, and Loki was considering his words carefully so that no one would notice.
“The tale you told me of your life since we diverged,” Loki said. “It touched me, brother. It is tragic that you should have to live your life without a version of me in it. But you and I both know, I cannot stay here. The TVA will be looking for me as we speak and they are not bound by barriers of time or space. And the whole reason they arrested me in the first place was due to my universe hopping. I need to keep moving. So… I believe that the three of us together may be able to create a device - a key - that if used will bring us back together. Then you will not have to worry about living in a world without my presence. Won’t that be nice?”
Thor didn’t respond. Partly due to the shock of the offer. It appeared completely selfless. Loki and Thor had been close as children but that had been a long time ago, and as much as Thor had wanted to maintain his relationship with his brother, it had always been a struggle. Yet here was Loki - the version of Loki full of the most rage and hurt - and he was offering an olive branch to him. Was there some kind of plan he was cooking up and Thor would inevitably be burned yet again, or did his brother pity him so much that he’d offer him this one small thing?
“Loki, if this is some trick...” Thor warned.
“You wound me, brother,” Loki said, putting his hand on his heart. Something in his face changed and his whole demeanor shifted. “Not to get sentimental on you or anything, but … I worry about you, brother. What you’ve been through… If having a way to contact me will give you some relief, then it is a minor inconvenience to me to do so.”
Thor nodded and put his hand on Loki’s shoulder. “I thank you.”
“And… I can make one for this -” he waved his hand at you dismissively. “If you would desire. Then when you decide you’re ready to continue your adventures, you will have an instant portal back to her.”
Thor couldn’t hold back, he grabbed Loki’s arm and pulled him into a tight hug. Loki sighed as he let his brother hug him and then slowly pushed back. “Yes, yes, I am wonderful,” he said. “No need to crush me.”
“How did you propose we do this, Loki?” You asked.
The three of you moved outside. While Thor lit a fire and burned it hot enough to smelt the metal of Loki’s helm, Loki set up the things he had gathered together. He’d created a circle in the clearing using the items he’d been collecting in the house. He had pulled the gems from their respective pieces of jewelry and set them up around the edge of the circle. There were three pieces of amethyst spaced evenly apart in the circle’s edge and sitting on each piece was a key.
The circle’s center contained the tray where Mjolnir’s parts lay and beside it a glass jar that already held an ancient coin.
“How fare thee, brother?” Loki asked.
“Almost ready,” Thor said. “What would you have me do with it?”
“Just leave it. When it’s liquid - assuming this works - it will be called during the spell,” Loki said.
Thor watched as the last of Loki’s horned helmet collapsed into the molten pool of metal.
“Now, you -” Loki said, gesturing to you. “Come by me. I need you to tap into the power you use when you’re sending things back to their rightful owners. Only think about returning Mjolnir to Thor as it would look complete.”
You nodded and moved next to Loki. “Thor - you stand here. I need you to think about how badly you wish for your hammer to be returned to you, and how much you both believe in and feel for your lover. When the time comes, you will need to summon forth a lightning bolt. It needs to be powerful and after it hits Mjolnir, I need for it to split and hit each of the keys.”
Thor moved beside Loki, so you were each standing around Mjolnir in a small circle within the larger one. Loki closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He began to read from the notebook he had collected. He spoke an ancient and primitive tongue that even with the power of Allspeak Thor had difficulty understanding. It was a language that went back to the beginnings of the universe when his great-grandfather Buri ruled the vast emptiness of space. He dropped some dried flowers into the jar as he spoke, they sparked as they fell and landed in the jar burning with an emerald green flame.
Thor turned his attention to you and his hammer. Wishing for its return while also basking in the love he had for you and his faith in your abilities. Your eyes began to glow, deep gold and wisps of the golden light leaked from the corners. Loki tore off a sheet of paper and dropped it into the jar with the coin and the flowers and he waved his free hand. Green light swirled out from his fingers and around Mjolnir and both the handle and the shards began to drift up into the sky.
As Loki continued to read and drop different items into the jar, the feather from the quill, herbs, drops of wine and more sheets from the book the light that emitted both from him and the jar grew brighter. The gold that you emitted increased too and the two colors mixed in the air around his hammer as it began to form the shape he recognized.
When it looked like his hammer, Loki gestured to the molten metal on the outside of the circle and beckoned to it. It rose in a long tendril of glowing red liquid and floated to the hammer, seeping into the cracks and sealing them together. Thor began to summon the weather, his eyes leaking blue plasma adding to the green and gold in the air. As the last of the molten metal disappeared into the Hammer, Thor called forth a bolt of lightning. It shattered through the air with an ear-splitting crack of thunder. When it hit Mjolnir the whole thing glowed red and was swallowed but a flare of gold, blue, and green light. The lightning forked into three, each bolt passing through a person before hitting the keys on the ground.
Everything turned white, and as the color gradually returned to the world Thor held out his hand, and Mjolnir flew into it.
The hammer had changed, no more was it unblemished. The silver face was marked with a web of gold that made it more beautiful than ever. It had been healed and while it carried scars, it now glittered with them.
Thor held it against his chest. “Thank you, brother,” he whispered.
Loki smiled and touched Thor’s arm softly. “Don’t get all weepy on me,” he teased.
You went and collected the keys up from the circle. “Did it work?” You asked.
Loki took them from you and closed his eyes as he clutched them in his hand. “I believe so,” he said as he opened his eyes again. “They have been charged with each of our magic, along with Mjolnir’s. Our magic connects them, they are ours and ours alone. But with your ability to call to you what is lost, and Mjolnir’s ability to be called by its rightful owner - when we wish to see one of the others we only need to call to them as we use the key on a door. It will open that door directly to them.”
Thor pulled both you and Loki into a tight embrace. He had never been so thankful for something Loki did, and he was glad to have his brother back in his life again. This felt like a turning point. A way for him to be truly happy again. “Come,” he said, as he loosened his grip. “Let us feast together. We have much to celebrate.”
Phase One: Avengers (Part Two)
Apparently I had so much to comment on this crappy book that I had to break this up into two parts (you can read part one here). No, I have nothing to say for myself. Lol
Let’s continue.
Clint Barton and Loki’s hand-picked strike team were in a stolen Quinjet with a faked S.H.I.E.L.D. call sign, 26-Bravo. That got them close enough that by the time the air-traffic officer on the Helicarrier knew something was wrong, it was already too late.
Whoa whoa whoa. I thought you said Loki didn’t care about the details. I thought you said such things were beneath him. Make up your mind.
With a last heave and twist, she freed herself from the fallen beam and ran. At that moment, the Hulk turned and saw her. She vaulted up a stairway and onto the next level. The Hulk swiped at the stairway and shredded it into scrap metal. Loki had gotten what he wanted. He must have been trying to time it so he could manipulate Bruce into becoming the Hulk right as his soldiers came to attack the Helicarrier. The Hulk would do at least as much damage from the inside as the rogue Quinjet could do from the outside.
Yes. Yes, he did. Lol
Natasha kept running, and the Hulk came right behind her. For a moment, she thought she’d lost him, but then he came at her out of the shadows, roaring. He was like walking rage, a single-minded engine of destruction. She shot a hole in the pipe over his head. Steam shot out of it into the Hulk’s eyes, stopping him for just the moment she needed to get a head start. She ran as fast as she could, but she knew she wasn’t going to stay away from him for long. He came after her, smashing through bulkheads and doorways like they weren’t even there and roaring the whole time.
Mood, though.
Steve got to the edge of the turbine mount about the same time as Tony. “I’m here!” he called out.
“Good,” Tony said, dropping into view and hovering in the Iron Man armor to survey the wreckage. He had the suit on, and Steve could hear his voice through the earbud microphone all S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel wore. At least that channel was still intact; if they lost communications, they’d be done for.
Convenient. Clint would absolutely know this, which means either 1) he's incompetent, 2) he's not as mind-controlled as we think, or 3) Loki allowed/arranged for his own team's semi-failure.Take your pick.
“What’s it look like in there?” Tony asked.
“It seems to run on some form of electricity,” Steve said.
Tony was shoving loose huge pieces of debris that prevented the turbine blades from rotating. “Well, you’re not wrong,” he said.
Steve fumed. He wasn’t here for technical support. But that was all he could do at the moment.
Ironic for Steve to call out Tony for being useless without his suit when Steve is apparently useless at anything other than beating people up. Lol
Tony stood inside the turbine housing, looking at the blades. He’d cleared most of the debris jamming the rotors. “Even if I clear the rotors,” he said, “this thing won’t reengage without a jump. I’m going to have to get in there and push.”
“If that thing gets up to speed, you’ll get shredded,” Steve said.
Hey hey hey now, I thought Tony wasn't the type of guy to sacrifice himself??
The Hulk stomped around the flight deck, roaring. He saw Thor and swung a fist twice the size of Thor’s head. Thor caught it in both hands, straining to hold both the Hulk’s arm and his attention. “We are not your enemies, Banner,” he grunted. “Try to think!”
Now, where have I heard that before...?
In answer, the Hulk punched him through the wall.
Jealous.
Thor got up and watched the Hulk coming after him. Now this was a fight! He held out a hand, waiting for Mjolnir to return to him. Mjolnir smashed through another wall and reached Thor’s hand just as the charging Hulk came within striking distance.
What's a little bloodlust between friends, amirite?
The Hulk caught the hammer, and a fierce grin spread over his face… then he toppled backward and Mjolnir pinned him to the floor of the hangar.
None but I can lift Mjolnir, Thor thought. Not even this giant.
Yes, yes. You're very special, Thor. We're all super impressed, promise.
“You like this?” Coulson asked, meaning the gun. “We started working on the prototype after you sent the Destroyer. Even I don’t know what it does.” He powered it up, and rings along its barrel glowed bright orange. “Want to find out?”
But Loki wasn’t there in front of him. Thor saw it too late to do anything. That Loki was an illusion… and the real Loki was behind Coulson.
Lokiception.
“You lack conviction,” Coulson said. He did not move from where he sat against the wall. Blood trickled at the corner of his mouth, and the enormous gun lay uselessly across his lap.
Of all the things Coulson might have said, this was perhaps the one Loki expected least. I have moved worlds out of conviction, he thought. Made bargains with beings who snuff out planets as an afterthought. “I don’t think I…”
"bargains"
“Tasha,” he said. “How many agents did I—?”
“Don’t,” she said. “Don’t do that to yourself, Clint. This is Loki. This is monsters and magic and nothing we were ever trained for.” Better than maybe anyone on the Helicarrier, Natasha Romanoff knew you couldn’t blame yourself for things you did while you were brainwashed. All you could do was try to heal and get things right the next time.
OH? DO TELL.
“Yeah, takes us a while to get any traction, I’ll give you that one,” Tony said. “But let’s do a head count here. Your brother the demigod, a Super-Soldier, a living legend who kind of lives up to the legend, a man with breathtaking anger-management issues, a couple of master assassins… and you, big fella, you’ve managed to piss off every single one of them.”
“That was the plan,” Loki said with a grin.
“Not a great plan,” Tony said.
YOU'RE RIGHT, TONY. IT'S AN OBJECTIVELY TERRIBLE PLAN. NOW ASK YOURSELF WHY HE WOULD DO THAT ON PURPOSE.
“You’re missing the point!” he said, and his tone got sharper. “There’s no throne, there is no version of this where you come out on top. Maybe your army comes and maybe it’s too much for us… but it’s all on you. Because if we can’t protect the Earth, you can be sure we’ll avenge it.”
Weeeeeell...
With those last words, he tapped Tony on the chest with his scepter, just has he had Hawkeye and Dr. Selvig. Nothing happened. The Arc Reactor in Tony’s chest countered the scepter’s effect.
Loki tried it again. “This usually works.…”
“Well,” Tony said, “best-laid plans. You know the saying.”
Uncomfortable with mild swear words and dick jokes, I see. Lol
Look at this!” Thor shouted, holding Loki and forcing him to gaze out over the destruction in the city. “You think this madness will end with your rule?”
“It’s too late,” Loki said. Thor thought he was beginning to understand what he had done. “It’s too late to stop it.”
“No,” Thor said. “We can. Together.”
Loki looked him in the eye… and then betrayed Thor again, stabbing him in the side with a knife hidden in his sleeve. Thor dropped to the ground, clutching the wound. “Sentiment,” Loki said mockingly.
OH MY GOD. HE'S MOCKING HIMSELF, YOU ABSOLUTE KNUCKLEHEAD. I swear to god, this author sat down and went, "Hmm. How can I systematically erase any and all complexity this character possesses so he's as generic a villain as possible?"
CASE IN POINT:
On a bridge, Cap huddled behind a destroyed car with the Black Widow and Hawkeye. “Lots of civilians trapped up there,” Hawkeye said, indicating the nearby buildings. A flight of Chitauri went over, and Cap noticed something different about one of them.
“Loki,” he said. He was shooting at the civilians fleeing through the streets. “They’re fish in a barrel down there.”
It can be admittedly hard to tell because most shots of the Chitauri vehicles firing on people are from too far away to tell who's piloting... but I checked the clips from the Battle of NY and the only person Loki can definitively be seen firing at is Natasha. On another Chitauri whatever-you-call-them. Not even aiming for the street.
Thor was still watching the Chitauri zipping overhead. “I have unfinished business with Loki.”
“Yeah?” Hawkeye said. “Get in line.”
“Save it,” Steve said. “Loki’s going to keep this fight focused on us, and that’s what we need. Otherwise those things could run wild. We’ve got Stark up on top—”
Almost as if... according to plan...
Look, I have historically not bought into the full "Loki formed the Avengers so he could lose on purpose" theory because I feel that it contradicts the canon explanation that he was being influenced by the sceptre. But... you'd have to be an absolute moron to think he wasn't sabotaging himself, whether accidentally or on purpose. I suppose one could argue that just because it was amplifying his negative emotions, that doesn't necessarily mean it prevented him from working against his "allies". But if it wasn't affecting his actions at all, I don't know why they'd bother to confirm the theory as canon.
Also, like... according to this book, Loki is somehow targeting civilians and not targeting civilians at the same time ?? lmao
“Dr. Banner,” Steve said. “Now might be a really good time for you to get angry.”
Bruce was already walking toward the Leviathan. “That’s my secret, Captain,” he said over his shoulder. “I’m always angry.”
Same, tbh.
Thor reached the top of the Empire State Building and lifted Mjolnir. Storm clouds gathered and lightning struck down, hundreds of bolts reaching for Mjolnir. Thor turned the Empire State Building’s iconic spire into a lightning rod, gathering the force of the elements into it. Then he thrust Mjolnir in the direction of the portal. All the energy he had built up blazed out in a single forking bolt. It struck and destroyed every single Chitauri between the Empire State Building and the portal itself. Hundreds of them exploded and tumbled from the sky at once, including several of the Leviathans that tumbled down to smash into buildings below.
...so why didn't Thor just keep doing this for the rest of the battle? Too draining, or not exciting enough? Lol
Satisfied, Thor nodded and glanced over at the Hulk. Perhaps the scales were evened from their last fight against each other on the Helicarrier—
The Hulk shot out his left fist and smashed Thor all the way across the block-long gallery. Then it was his turn to look satisfied.
Jealous. Again.
Maybe that was just Loki, but Steve was starting to feel like the Chitauri were going to absorb every punch the Avengers could throw. They had to close that portal, or nothing was going to stop the invasion.
Well then. It sure is fortunate that Loki allowed Selvig to install a failsafe, huh?
Fury stood and listened to the World Security Council explain that they had decided to take the operation out of his hands. They were going to use a nuclear missile to destroy the Tesseract and close the portal—but at the cost of untold civilian lives. Fury protested as strongly as he could and one of the councilors cut him off. “Director Fury. The Council has made a decision.”
These crazy motherfuckers would have killed so many more people than Loki it's not even funny.
...and tbh, it probably wouldn't even have destroyed the Tesseract, so they would have killed them for literally no reason too.
The Hulk paused, confused.
“You are, all of you, beneath me!” Loki raged.
Not yet, sir, but I would very much like to be. 😏
She knelt next to him and said, “It’s not your fault. You didn’t know what you were doing.”
Selvig digested this for a moment and then said, “Actually I think I did. I built in a safety to cut the power source.”
Of note and as alluded to previously:
1) The mind control over Barton and Selvig was not absolute either; therefore, if they are not responsible for their actions over the course of this movie, Loki is not responsible for his either.
2) If The Other could hear everything Loki was up to, it's very likely that Loki could hear everything Barton and Selvig were up to as well. Meaning that, at a minimum, he knew about the failsafe and did nothing about it.
The missile had a lot of momentum built up, and Tony’s Mark 7 suit was not operating at full capacity after the amount of energy he’d expended in the battle already. It was no easy task to get the missile angled up sharply enough to clear the tallest buildings in Midtown—especially Stark Tower. That was where the missile seemed to want to go. So, Tony thought, the World Security Council is jealous of me, too.
Look, I get that he's mostly just being witty, but seriously... this dude is out here accusing Loki of being an egomaniac? Lol
He got underneath the missile and angled it upward, straining against its stabilizers, which tried to keep it on course. But slowly he forced it up, and once he got its warhead pointed at an angle, pushing it into a steeper climb got easier. A little.
Steve Rogers’s voice broke his concentration. “Stark, you know that’s a one-way trip?”
So... you're admitting you were wrong, then? 🙃
The Avengers looked up. On the roof of Stark Tower, Natasha said, “Come on, Stark.”
They saw the explosion through the portal, brilliant as a new sun. There was no way Tony could have survived that.
I was wrong about him, Steve thought. When the time came, he did make the sacrificial play.
Thanks, Steve. That's really all I wanted.
Loki had just gotten himself put back together enough to get out of the hole in the floor. Painfully he dragged himself toward the door. Never had a mortal damaged him as much as that green monster. He would be healing for a long time.
He's literally in better shape now than when he came through the portal. And the author made zero mention of his health there.
But heal he would, and then he would have his revenge. Even though the portal had collapsed and he had lost the Tesseract. Even though his Chitauri army was destroyed. Loki would show the so-called Avengers they never should have opposed him.
Raise your hand if you watched Avengers and thought Loki was thinking about revenge right after getting Hulk-smashed. Why aren't any of you raising your hands??
Seriously, there are two emotions I felt from Loki at the end of Avengers Assemble: relief and anxiety. I have no idea why Alex Irvine is so intent on turning him into a boring, one-dimensional villain, but it made this book absolutely insufferable to read.
Anyway, that's it! I hope you all found this as entertaining and cathartic as I did. Lol
Norsery Rhymes from A to Z Happy Thorsday - Eitri, Blacksmith of Poison Smoke and Sparks
Well here we are another Thor’s Day and another 20 min sketch of a Norse (and Germanic) mythological characters. This week it’s Eitri / Sindri the Dwarven (Dverg / Dvergr / Dwarf).
Known as a ‘Great Blacksmith’, 'the one who forms’, ‘He Who Causes Sparks”, ‘The Spark Maker’. His name Eitri literally means 'The Poisonous One’, likely from the smoke of the forge, and ‘Spark’ from Sindri / Sindre. Also an allusion to the blacksmith creating sparks as they work.
Brother of Brokkr. Brokkr and Eitrri were renown as smiths and craftsmen. He is critical in co-creating three of the most recognizable magic items of Asgard.
While either visiting Asgard, or in their home amongst the Dwarves. Loki bragged that the Sons of Ivaldi were the finest, most creative, and most skilled blacksmiths amongst the Dwarves and all other Dwarves were incapable of making anything as spectacular and useful as they had. Loki obviously trying to provoke the other craftsmen present.
The Sons of Ivaldi were very skilled however, having made Odin’s magic Spear Gungnir (The Swaying One), Freyr’s ship Skidbladnir / Skithabthnir 'the ship assembled from thin pieces of wood’ that could magically fold up and be placed in a small pocket until needed. Considered the best, fastest and largest ship all at the same time. They also made something for Loki after Thor threatened him to make up for a prank where he sheared off Sif’s possibly magic golden hair. This prank led Loki to require a replacement for it, leading to the creation of a golden headpiece with gold hair for Sif.
Brokkr hearing Loki’s boasting challenging claims he and his brother can make things equal or better than the Sons of Ivaldi. Betting his head against Loki’s on the outcome.
Loki takes them up on the bet and The Brothers go to their magic forge to make items of beauty and power. Brokkr blowing the bellow continuously as needed and Eitri forming the items one by one. Loki never content on a fair contest turns himself into a biting Gadfly to bite Brokkr as he blows, trying to interrupt the bellows. First on the hand while the mechanical riding Boar Gullinbursti 'Golden Mane’ or 'Golden Bristles’ Freyr is made. That could run in air and water, see in the dark, and provide light from it’s mane. Then Loki bit Brokkr on the neck while the arm band Draupnir 'the Dripper’ was made for Odin. Which drips copies of itself every ninth night. Then on the eyelid while the hammer Mjolnir 'The Grindstone’ or 'The Crusher’ was made for Thor. The divine thunder and lightning weapon, that could banish chaos, never fail, never break, and if thrown would never miss and always fly back to him. While the first two bites did not cause Brokkr to falter, the third caused blood to go into his eye and a small gasp which cooled the bellows, causing the handle on Mjolnir to be shorter than a normal hammer.
When the items were presented to the gods and the time of judgment was at hand, they claimed them to be as equal or even more impressive than what the Sons of Ivaldi had accomplished. This may have just been a way to see Loki’s head separated from his body for them given all the trouble he’d caused. Loki first runs away, but Thor returns him to the proceedings. Loki then claimed that as his neck was never part of the deal, Brokkr would need to separate his head without touching his neck, a feat unattainable. For this Brokkr still claiming ownership of Loki’s head regardless of if it was attached to the body or not, used his brother Eitri’s magic Awl and the thong of fabric Vartari and sowed Loki’s lips shut, until the thread came free on it’s own to keep him from causing more chaos.
In the Thorsteins saga, to ask for advise defeating the invincible viking Otunfaxe / Otun Faxe, during his adventures, Thorstein is advised to travel to meet Sindri / Sindre on the Smaller Isle of Brenner where Sindri lives with his family in a stone home, or a home that’s a stone. There he finds Sindri’s children are seemingly playing by a stream, but on closer inspection they seemed to be more searching the stream. The boy introduced himself as Herraud and the girl as Herrid. Herrid was worried her father would be angry that she’d lost a ring he’d made for her. They were searching for it without success. Thorstein gave Herrid his own gold ring so that she would not get in trouble. Asking that when she show her father the ring that if he’s happy with the gift that he joins Thorstein by the stream so they could talk, and get some advise from him. Herrid told Thorstein that her father can’t deny anything to her Brother and that her father would be more likely to come if Herraud asked as well. So Thorstein gave Herraud his silver belt and belt and fine ornamented knife, and Herraud agreed to help convince his father to come.
After a long while, the brother and sister returned with their father Eitri / Sindri / Sindre who greeted Thorstein warmly. They talked of Otun Faxe and Sindri advised that through some magic, nothing could injure him, so Thorstein would be best served to take his men and boats and run. But if he is intent of trying he will help him with what he has. For his kindness to his children Sindri and his children give Thorstein first Herrid’s small belt dirk dagger that was likely family made, that if used skillfully can pierce Otunfaxe. Herruad didn’t have anything power enough so suggested that Sindri enchant Thorstein the ability to call on their family Disir, their female guardian spirits that will always follow and assist him.
Sindri would meet up with Thorstein on the bright night assault on Otunfaxe, shooting his own arrows, and dropping every one of Otunfaxe’s men that he launched an arrow at.
Once Thorstein and Otunfaxe finally come to individual battle swimming in the sea, both wrestling their way to the bottom, Otunfaxe was far stronger, and invulnerable, and was about to bite out Thorsteins throat, when briefly above the water, Thorstein called on Sindre’s protection. Otunfaxe seemed to be griped by invisible hands all around him. Being dragged down to the bottom again. Thorstein being held by Faxe and tiring, was able to reach Herrid’s belt knife, and plunge it into Otun and then slash him several times, defeating him, and freeing himself.
Once healed Thorstein visited Sindre on his isle, giving him many gifts and praise. Now lifelong friends.
Later on when Thorstein was captured, he called on Sindri again. This time, Sindri’s Disir put the men holding him to sleep. Sindri, or some casting of him eventually coming along while the men were still asleep to free Thorstein. Sindri Disappearing once complete.
Eitri / Sindri would go on to have many descendants. Some of whom will create a hall of gold located in ‘the fields of the new moon’ Niðavellir / Nidavellir in the land of the Dwarves. That will be a place for the souls of the virtuous to live after the events of Ragnaraok.
Reusing my joke for Brokkr:
Brokkr and Eitri having made many things, had many adventures, and had done the incredible by shutting Loki up, likely retire as there was nothing left to achieve in life.
Choosing Between Two Loves Part 7 ~ Endgame - 3
Summary: You were a Goddess named (Y/N), who had powers similar to Thor and even stronger, you joined the Avengers back when Loki had tried to take over New York. You were great friends with most of them. Tony Stark was someone you were always in love with even though you knew you could never have him. However that all changes when you get to know a certain super soldier....
You woke up with your head pounding, you felt a heavy weight on your chest, when you opened your eyes you saw that it was all debris that surrounded you, something had gone entirely wrong. “Thor?! Tony?!” you called for anyone to hear you but you were met with silence. You pushed the debris off of you, you weren’t severely injured thankfully, you had minor cuts that would surely heal up within the hour, the benefit of being a goddess. You dusted yourself off, grabbed your gear and walked around to see if you could find anyone.
You spotted Thor standing on a small cliff looking down focused on something. “Are you okay?” you asked him, “Mhmmm”, you looked to see where he was looking, you felt your blood drain to your feet, it was Thanos, this wasn’t supposed to happen.
“Ehhh you mess with time and it’ll tend to mess back” you heard Tony say behind you being followed by Steve. You sighed in slight relief seeing these two alive as well. “What has he been doing?” Steve asked, “Sitting and waiting” Thor replied, “let’s kill him properly this time” he added. You took a deep breath walking first towards Thanos, you had to kill him, no matter what.
“I’ve seen you haven’t been appreciative of what I have done for you all” Thanos spoke when you walked closer to him. “We should appreciate half of a world?” you snickered at him, “Would you like me to destroy it like yours then?” he remarked, “Not this time” you gritted running towards him with your sword. You heard the boys behind you following your lead, each of you fought against Thanos. You were gaining advantage until he knocked out Tony, throwing him on a boulder. It was Steve, Thor, and you fighting against Thanos, he pushed Thor against another boulder, he wasn’t unconscious though, now it was you and Steve. You ran back towards Thanos, he picked you up by your neck, almost squishing you, you felt your feet dangle, “You...will ....never...be a god” you gritted at him between the breathes you were taking. That pissed him off, he was about to punch you straight on when you heard a swishing sound beside you, causing you and Thanos to turn to see what it was, Steve had caught the Mjolnir! You felt excitement, you knew one day it would happen just not when exactly. Steve ran towards you and Thanos, Thanos threw you onto the floor in order to avoid Steve, this gave you leverage in catching your breath. You ran towards the two of them, Steve and you double teamed, he threw his shield at you so you could hit Thanos harder while he tried his best to attain the lightning against Thanos. Unfortunately you caught a hard hit from Thanos, knocking you out unconscious
-----------------------------------------
The sound of someone yelling woke you up, turning to your right Thor was laying down passed out, Tony was still out. You turned to your left to see Steve limping towards something, you looked up to find Thanos and his entire army walking towards you all. You got up slowly to make sure you didn’t have any serious injuries, not that it mattered any way with Thanos and his army outnumbering you. You walked to Steve’s side, you both knew what was to come, didn’t mean you wouldn’t go down without a fight. This was it you thought, the end of your life, you were so close to beating him. You looked up to Steve, staring into his blue eyes, “It has been an honor to be by your side Cap” you said as your voice broke, Steve didn’t say anything but he gave you a sorrowful smile. He hadn’t heard you call him Cap in so long, he wasn’t ready to die but he was glad to have a great friend by his side not turning against the fight. You turned back towards Thanos, “let’s give them hell” you said.
You made one step forward when you heard a faint sound in your earpiece. “Cap” it buzzed again, “on your left”, it was Sam’s voice. You quickly turned to look at Steve in astonishment, there was no way that could be Sam. You were wrong though, it was, you saw a portal open on the top left, sure enough Sam flew out over you and Steve. You then saw more portals opening one by one, each revealing everyone that had been dusted away. You let out a breath when you saw the kid from Queens that Tony had brought onto the team. You were looking for two more faces, Nat and surprisingly, Bucky’s face. You saw Bucky from a distance, you could tell it was him because of his hair and the type of gun he had, you felt an odd sensation of butterflies in your stomach seeing Bucky. You turned to look at Steve, he had tears in his eyes this time, he gave you a wink, you smiled back to him, tears were falling out of your eyes.
You all formed up in lines, the biggest team of Avengers ready to take on Thanos and his army. You heard Steve yell, “A-VENGERS.........” you saw the Mjolnir fly back to him catching it, “assemble”. You all ran forward; you, Steve, and Thor being the fastest you took the lead. You had so much anger in you, you felt like you were going to explode. You ran into the fight first, pulling out your spear to throw it at one straight ahead and then pulling out your sword....it was hunting season. “Ahhhhh” you gritted through your teeth every time you cut one of them through, blood was splattered all over you, you didn’t care, your mission was further ahead. You were deep into the fight when you heard someone call your name, it was Bucky, “Did you miss me doll?” he smirked at you, you rolled your eyes at him, “Don’t shoot at me this time Bucky” you teased.
You don’t know how long you were fighting but you were all getting closer to the quantum realm machine, you needed it to snap away Thanos and his army. You were about a dozen feet away from Thanos when you were thrown back onto the floor, someone landed it front of you, it was Wanda. “You took EVERYTHING from me” she said angrily to Thanos, “I don’t even know who you are” he replied. To say that Wanda was the most powerful one was an understatement, she had Thanos in the palm of her hand like nothing, it was too much for him apparently because he had his own army attacked to get Wanda to let him go.
You were close to Peter when you saw a bunch of debris falling towards him, you ran to his aid, using your own shield to cover him mostly. “Thanks” he gasped, “No problem kid”. You ran back towards Thanos but he kept throwing things to people you cared about to get you to cover for them. At one point you weren’t sure who you were covering for when you saw Tony move closely to Thanos, you knew you couldn’t move until the debris stopped falling all over. It was getting heavier by the second, all you could do was see Tony get a hold of the gauntlet. “Tony NO!” you yelled, it was too late, the gauntlet formed around Tony’s hand, you saw him mumble something and then snap his fingers. In doing so, the winds picked up causing everything to fall down.
You sprinted towards Tony, holding him up, he looked up at you giving you a tired and sad smile, you looked down to see the damage on his body, it didn’t look good at all, half of it was completely burned. You placed him gently down, kneeling beside him, “Tony it was supposed to be me” you whispered to him, “you can not leave Tony” you said, your voice was breaking, Tony heard that, he didn’t say a word, only pointing a finger towards your heart. You caressed his face softly before placing a kiss on his forehead, you turned back to see Pepper, you didn’t say anything but your face told her everything, she had to say goodbye to the love of her life.
You got up, looking to face the others, you were trying to hold it in to look strong for them and Tony. “Where’s Thor?” you asked practically pleading to find him, you felt a pair of hands grab you pulling you into their chest, you thought it was Thor until you looked up to see Bucky. He looked at you, he had never seen you this way, you looked like you were going to break any second, the strongest warrior was going to break. “Shhh shhh doll” he said trying his best to soothe you, you didn’t realize it but you were almost hyperventilating, the last time you felt like this was when you lost your world, you were having a major panic attack. You opened your eyes again, trying to see through your tears, you caught back a glimpse of Tony, sitting there, his arc reactor was still on and then it shut down. You felt yourself drop, Tony Stark was gone from this world. Bucky held you tighter, rubbing your back while you let the tears drown out. “(Y/N)” you heard Thor’s voice right behind you, Bucky let go of you, as much as he wanted to sooth you, he knew Thor was a special person in your life. “Thor” you were sobbing once Thor hugged you, “he’s GONE”, you said, Bucky caught your last sentence to Thor, “It should have been ME” he heard you say.
-----------------------------------------
You were beyond exhausted, Thanos and his army were dusted away but you lost another great love in your life, Tony had become such an amazing friend, you couldn’t imagine your life without him, you never had. You were doing everything you could for Pepper to not worry about anything, “I just need you and Morgan to be okay” you would say to her, “thank you (Y/N)”. She was more than grateful to have you there, it gave her a sense of peace in knowing that you would watch over Morgan as if she were your own.
You guys walked down the steps of the Stark cabin towards the lake. You held Morgan’s hand while Happy guided Pepper ahead. Bucky wasn’t sure whether he should attend the funeral due to the situation with Tony but Steve had convinced him to go since everyone would be there, he even used you as an excuse. He saw you walking with Morgan, Tony’s daughter, you looked exhausted, sad, angry, everything was bottled up inside you. You saw Bucky at the far end looking at you, you smiled softly at him. Pepper and Happy arrived at the end of the dock where she let go of Tony’s original arc reactor that she had saved. You knelt down to be right next to Morgan, giving her a kiss on her head, Pepper reached her hand down to squeeze yours.
--------------------------------------------
Thor was planning on leaving with the Guardians, he and Rocket had asked you to come with them but you refused, “This world needs a suit of armor” you explained to them. You gave Thor a hug, “You know where to find me” you said, “And you’ll know where to find me. You be safe” he replied.
You walked away to head toward Steve, he had to return the stones so the timeline wouldn’t get weird again. You knew Steve was going to return but you also knew Steve would not entirely return as Steve. You walked up to him, Banner, Sam, and Bucky saying their goodbyes. “I’ll be okay” Steve said to you, “You be safe” you replied hugging him harder, “live that life Tony always talked about” you whispered, “Okay but give Bucky a chance” he whispered back causing you to chuckle. You pulled back to give him a kiss on the cheek, “I will miss you Steve” you said tearing up, he smiled at you and then walked over to say goodbye to his lifelong friend Bucky. You gave them their space, walking over to stand next to Sam, you and Sam didn’t really talk to each other but he rubbed your back, “You good?” he asked genuinely, “Hanging in there Sam” you replied.
Banner counted down to Steve leaving, then he was gone, he counted down for him to return, nothing happened. Bucky turned behind you and Sam, calling Sam over, you turned around to see someone else sitting on the bench a few feet away. You saw Sam walk over to him, it was Steve, you knew it. You heard the exchange between Sam and Steve, Sam looked over to you in confusion, Bucky nodded his head, you smiled at him, you could feel the tears again, you hadn’t cried this much in your life. You then saw Sam pick up the shield, it was time for a new Captain America, you knew Sam was the perfect choice.
You were sniffling quietly, “Are you crying again?” Bucky asked you, you avoided his gaze, wiping your tears away fast so he wouldn’t see them, “No” you muttered, “It sounded to me like you were” he said trying to make you laugh, “Shut up Barnes, lets go” you said pulling him with you, his eyes opened wide at you doing that, “Hey now let’s be nice” he teased you, you let him go but he did walk by your side towards Sam and Steve.
-----------------------------------------------
After working a few things out in New York, you had gone back to your home in Europe, you weren’t done with being an Avenger yet. You had stayed in touch with Bucky, he had asked for your number a few days after Steve handed over the shield to Sam. Bucky had been going to therapy and he was pardoned from his past crimes of being the Winter Soldier. You planned on staying in Europe for a while, as much as you had grown to like Bucky, you knew it wasn’t the right time to fall in love. You had to work things out on your own and you knew that Bucky had to work on his own things too, you guys however spoke on the phone a few times a week to check in on each other. One evening you were watching the news when you heard, “Breaking News, Avengers own Sam Wilson has come to the decision to turn in the shield over to the Smithsonian museum”, “SHIT” you said to yourself. You knew that Sam turning in the shield to the museum didn’t mean shit to the government, they were going to try to replace him in no time. You didn’t understand why Sam did it, only one way for you to find out....head back to the States.
More than 5 minutes with Thor
note from Jo: It’s been a long time since a plot bunny took me for a run. I’m not sure this worked out the way I wanted it to, but it’s a step in the writing direction again.
XXX “You green-eyed she-devil,” Thor spat, cursing me with his words. “This is all your fault!”
“How is is my fault?” I snarled back, trying to loosen the rope binding us together, back to back. “Can’t you just call your stupid hammer to come and save us?”
I felt his snort of disgust more than heard it. “You somehow think Mjolnir can just, what, exactly? Grow thumbs and untie these knots?”
“Listen thunderboy, if you don’t get us free, I will fucking kill you myself,” I snapped. I hated being sent on missions with Thor. He was certainly much humbler than he had been when he first came to Earth, but there was a natural arrogance carried by royalty that he could never completely shake. And suspicion about those of us with powers.
“Your jedi mind tricks won’t work on me,” he snapped. Right, and Tony had started introducing him to pop culture, which made him even more annoying.
“This is going to be so enjoyable,” a voice echoed through the room, obviously through some kind of speaker. “You idiots played right into my trap.”
“You dare entrap the son of Odin?” Thor roared, lightning sparking around the room ineffectively. A stray spark hit my wrist and somehow loosened the bonds there enough that I could begin to work the knot holding me.
“And the daughter of a man,” the voice laughed. “The great Thor brought low as a mortal by trying to save his powerless team member. If you wish to leave alive, you will do exactly as I say.”
Thor drew in his breath as though he was going to start yelling again, and I had just enough play in the ropes to elbow him in the ribs to shut him up. I was hoping he wasn’t so angry he didn’t notice that our captor thought I was powerless. I absolutely wasn’t.
“What is it you want from us?” I asked.
“Your love,” the voice responded. I choked on a laugh.
“We do not love each other,” I retorted. “We can barely stand one another. He’s an arrogant -”
“Stupid human, you couldn’t possibly understand,” the voice interrupted. “My plan is to pull all of the emotions from this world, starting with you. Without love, or hate, or empathy, or disdain, this entire planet will atrophy. There will be no drive, no motivation. Humanity will simply die off. And then my people can move in, extract the resources we need, and carry on, as we always have.”
“And why us first?” Thor demanded.
“The power of a god? Much like jumpstarting a vehicle, the strength of the first emotions gathered will make the power of my engine stronger,” the voice explained. I finally managed to push the end of the rope though the loop, freeing one of my wrists. Keeping my hands in place, I started working on the other knot.
“If you just want to deplete our emotions, why start with love? Isn’t hatred that much stronger?” I asked.
“Certainly, but making you fight might cause your death, and I need you to go out and spread the contagion that will leech your humanity away.”
“So you’re somehow going to make us fall in love?” I snorted. “Not likely, as I said -”
“No, you’re going to make love. At climax, this chamber will steal your passion, and -”
I started laughing, hysterically. “What the fuck?” I couldn’t help but cackle exactly like the witch Thor accused me of being. “This is the stupidest trope in the universe. Fuck or die? Seriously?”
I felt the ropes fall from both my wrists and turned to unbind Thor, still laughing. My laughter was both terrified and amused. Whoever had us captive honestly thought Thor and I would have sex in order to get free.
“Free! I could kiss you,” Thor teased as he held out his hand to call Mjolnir.
“Well, don’t. We don’t want this creep being successful.” Mjolnir broke through the wall of the room, and snapped into Thor’s hand. Through the hole in the wall, we could see a bank of computers, but no person or creature who could be responsible. We stepped through the hole in the wall, careful to be quiet, and followed the hallway to what appeared to be an exit, encountering no one. I tugged on Thor’s arm before he pushed the door open.
“Shouldn’t we be finding this asshole and stopping him?” I asked. Thor met your gaze and thought before speaking.
“No, I think we should return to the compound, and have Stark look into this,” he replied after a moment. “There’s more here than meets the eye.”
XXX
“You escaped before you had to do the do, right?” Tony asked. I sighed and rolled my eyes and Thor glared.
“I need not lay with a woman who hates me,” Thor replied and turned to me. “I am grateful for your skill at freeing us.”
“Your lightning trick in there zapped me, and loosened the ropes. It was a team effort,” I shrugged.
“I called you a she-devil. You have apologies,” he offered. I smirked.
“A green-eyed one, even. You’ve looked long enough to know my eye colour,” I winked. He grit his teeth and you noticed a light flush on his cheeks.
“He can describe the exact colour of your hair too,” Tony pointed out. “Something about the ruddy gold of Idunn’s apples right before the harvest.” Thor turned pinker.
“That’s downright romantic,” I commented, “particularly considering you hate me.”
Thor shook his head. “You are maddening. You try my every nerve. But I have never hated you. I only guard my feelings because of the disregard you hold me in. You’ve a viper’s tongue when you are angered.”
“And when I’m not?” I asked, curious. Thor met your eyes and looked away. He took a deep breath and looked back at you before looking down at his feet. He stared meaningfully at Tony until the latter cleared his throat and pointed at the door, excusing himself. Finally, his shoulders squared up and his eyes met yours.
“You are the most beautiful creature I’ve ever met. You beguile me enough that I asked Loki if you’d ensorcelled me with your magic,” he admitted.
“And what did Loki say?” I breathed.
“That there was no reek of Midgardian spellwork to me. That I am merely smitten with a woman who notices not my own charms,” he admitted, looking away. There was hurt and humiliation written on his face
“Oh, I’ve noticed your charms,” I admitted with a self-deprecating laugh. His head snapped back to look at me. “You’re infuriating, but you’re also really goddamn pretty.”
“It would have been no hardship to make love to you,” he admitted.
“Maybe under different circumstances,” I nodded.
“Yes, I believe after what you would call a date,” he smiled. “Perhaps we could watch a movie tonight.”
“We still have a bad guy to catch,” I protested. He stepped closer and pressed his forehead to mine.
“Tomorrow.”
I don’t know if this is where we submit requests or not but, I just had an idea for a Loki x Reader where he and the reader accidentally get handcuffed together for a day? Thanks!
A/n: Heyyyy, I’m a master procrastinator and I don’t feel like doing homework so I’m going to do this instead. Hope you enjoy my past 1 am nonsense and sorry for taking so long to get this up… I’m sure it’s been over a year since this was sent to me……… anyway this is pre-Thor, enjoy -G
Thor had insisted it was for their own good, explaining, or trying to, that the two needed to be able to get along. See, the trickster and the witch had never really gotten along, both constantly trying to one-up each other when it came to magic. It had been this way since they were kids, Frigga had trained them both from the time they were old enough to cast a spell and since then the two had argued nearly every day. It was starting to become an issue though, and there was a fairly important battle coming up. Thor couldn’t risk the two trying to start something on the field and losing lives due to it. Sure it was an honor to die in battle but he’d rather not lose warriors if he didn’t have to.
“This is ridiculous.” Y/n grumbled as she dragged her feet, purposely holding Loki back as he made his way to the library. “Your brother has really outdone himself this time. I think this is almost as stupid as his little get help scheme.”
“I thought you and my brother got along?” the trickster hummed, yanking on the handcuff that bound the two together to force the woman to keep up with him.
Y/n huffed “not when he ruins my day by hooking me up to you.”
The trickster just rolled his eyes, pushing open the double doors with his shoulder. He seemed less peeved than Y/n had expected him to be. He did love a good trick however so she figured it was just that.
“Well since you’re so upset why don’t we have a little fun?” the prince smirked, raising an eyebrow as he looked back at the sorceress.
There it was, the mischief in his eyes that many had learned to fear, Y/n usually saw it as an invitation though. Despite their lack of friendliness when the two managed to work together they could easily take on all nine realms. Their combined magic could clear battlefields when they weren’t trying to compete and Y/n truly believed that if Thor was with them he would be terrified.
“What exactly do you have in mind?”
The prank itself was rather simple in theory, make Thor think he was no longer worthy of his beloved hammer. That was easier said than done though, the older prince may have not been the smartest but Y/n was convinced he knew more about his brother’s tricks than he let on. This had to be flawless, they needed to create an illusion big enough to cover the sky, as well as a perfectly crafted replica of Mjolnir. Luckily a few dwarves owed the witch a favor and Loki was a master of illusions, the set up would still take time though and the trickster seemed rather reluctant to visit Sindri and Brok.
“Are you kidding me? They’ll have my head if I show my face in their forge again.” The prince huffed
Y/n rolled her eyes “It’s not my fault you burned a bridge with the only beings who know more about Mjolnir than Thor himself.” The sorceress pulled on her handcuff, Loki reluctantly following behind her as they reached the forge.
The dwarves were hard at work as per usual, their forge as hot as a star, Y/n yanked Loki through the door before approaching the brothers who were hard at work.
“It is time for the two of you to make good on your word.” Y/n declared as she looked between the two “I need a replica of Mjolnir for Thor, I owe him a favor and for whatever reason, one wasn’t enough for him. Don’t worry about the magic, I can handle that, but he requests for the hammer to look exactly the same as Mjolnir.”
Loki looked displeased, his face showing the slightest bit of fear as the dwarves' eyes moved from Y/n to him.
“You bring the trickster here ad expect us to believe your stories Lady Y/n?” Brok spoke up, eyeing the young prince.
“I understand he has caused you some troubles in the past, as does his brother. As much as I would love for you to sew his mouth shut once more, it’s important that he stay unharmed. You see, I won't be able to get rid of him until I repay my debt to Thor which is why I require this new hammer by tonight. Understood?” Y/n spoke without hesitation, her voice powerful and unwavering as she glared at the dwarves, challenging them to speak against her. The two nodded, albeit reluctantly, before starting their work.
The pair waited outside of the forge as the hammer was crafted, Loki going over the important steps of the illusion the two would need to create together.
“It has to be seamless, we’re not just tricking Thor but everyone at the feast tonight. I’ll take care of visuals, you make sure that the hammer behaves properly,” he instructed, motioning for her to practice with a rather large rock. The two ran through the routine quite a few times but whenever it got to the point where Thor would attempt to pick up the hammer Y/n’s magic would slip.
“If you would just stop using your magic to pull the damn thing up-”
“Do you really think my brother is a weak man? He’s not going to give up without a fight and you need to be prepared.” Loki huffed
“I am prepared, you’re overreacting.” Y/n countered
“Then hold it down next time, I know you can do better than this, I’ve seen you pull down Jotuns without a second thought.” The god sighed, looking to the sorceress next to him
“It’s different, I’m not in a life or death situation Loki,” the woman sighed, she was never as good as controlling her power, when she was stressed or upset she could topple buildings but even the nuisance beside her couldn’t generate enough anger for that to happen now.
Loki stopped and took his hand in hers “It’s only different because you make it different. You have that power inside you, Y/n, you just have to use it. I know you can do this, tap into that emotion.”
The sorceress sighed and closed her eyes, trying her best to tap into her power like Loki had said but she couldn’t. She shook her head before opening her eyes, she and Loki were rather close and for once he didn’t seem like a menace. A slight smile graced her lips before the door to the forge opened, causing her to jump to her feet, or rather attempt to. Loki had other plans and nearly pulled her down on top of him when he didn’t move, however, she managed to recover.
Sindri eyed the two before handing a perfect replica of Mjolnir to Y/n, “give the prince my regards.” he hummed before heading back inside.
The two made it back just in time, the feast had begun and they were fashionably late. Loki smiled as he tossed the hammer in his hand, walking into the banquet hall with Y/n by his side. “Brother!” He called out, pointing the hammer at him “Are you missing something?”
Y/n rolled her eyes slightly “I told him to just leave the damn thing alone but you know he never listens to me.” She huffed, watching as Thor got to his feet.
The God of Thunder walked over to the pair and clapped his brother on the back, “I’m glad,” he spoke, his nerves clear in his voice. “Forgive me for not believing this is real.” he laughed a bit, the others in the hall joining him. They grew quiet as Loki raised the hammer in the air, a large lightning bolt sprouting from the top of the hammer, singing the ceiling as a rumble of thunder echoed through the hall. “Still think this is a joke? Pick it up?”
Loki put the hammer on the ground, walking back a bit as he waited for his brother to try and take the hammer. He played it off for a moment, insisting it was all a joke before he leaned down. His body tensing as he tried to pull the weapon from the ground. Y/n’s grip on Loki’s hand tightened as she did her best to keep the hammer in place, but the younger prince could feel her slipping. He nudged her, getting her attention before pressing a firm kiss to her lips. Within a moment the hammer was flying through the air. It would’ve hit the trickster in the face if he hadn’t broken the kiss and caught it.
“Unlock these cuffs right now or so help me I will smash his head in with that thing!” Y/n screamed, her eyes on fire as she glared at Thor who made quick work of the locks on the chain. As soon as she was free she sent the replica Mjolnir flying into the wall, Loki attached to it and stormed out of the hall.
The hall was silent for a moment before erupting into laughter as a distraught trickster slowly picked himself up from the ground.
At least he had the sense to wait, Y/n thought as she heard the familiar soft knocking of the younger prince. She didn’t say anything but let the door swing open, the raven-haired man slowly making his way into the room. Y/n was curled in a ball, her blankets firmly tucked around her as she glared at him. “May I sit?” he spoke softly, waiting for an invitation before he lowered himself to a spot on the bed next to her. “I’m sorry about earlier, you were slipping, I- I thought it would help. Technically it did but not in the way I had hoped, I truly am sorry I thought we had a moment earlier and truth be told I’ve always tho-”
Loki stopped as a hand clamped over his mouth, “shut up” Y/n murmured, removing her hand from his mouth before scooting closer to him. After a while, she leaned her head against his shoulder, moving his arm so it was wrapped around her, the two of them at peace together for the first time in their lives.
OG616 : Thor 1 - Pt.5 [The Fallen Prince]
[My masterlist, where all parts of this and my other fics can be found]
Pairing: Loki / Sigyn (basically an oc based off the marvel/myth namesake)
Warnings: Mentions of violence, though nothing serious.
Author’s Note: get ready for the pain train, choo-choo.
Taglist: @high-functioning-lokipath
To be added to the taglist, just ask me here or send a message! <3 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It sounded like war already.
That evening, Sigyn was surprised to hear the Bifrost activate again. Something entered the palace. The two Einherjar outside Sigyn's chambers ordered her to stay within, where she was safe. She didn't argue.
She heard a struggle, what sounded like Gungnir being fired. Distant explosions. Cries.
Norns, please, if nothing else, keep Loki safe.
The Bifrost was activated yet again.
Sigyn ran to the balcony, looking out over the city, trying to catch a glimpse of who had arrived on Asgard, when she heard a familiar sound from the distance, saw a streak of scarlet heading for the castle.
"Thor!"
He disappeared behind one of the palace's spires.
But with him here, Asgard is safer. He and Loki can protect the realm until Odin awakes. Everything will go back to normal!
She swallowed, anxiously awaiting Thor or Loki to come get her. They'd smile. Tell her they'd won the battle. Celebrate.
She turned back toward the room.
Loki's helmet was gone. He must've summoned it to himself. But wearing his helmet meant he was still fighting...
He'll be fine. Thor is his ally - the Einherjar, too. They'll all fight off whatever has come here.
An enormous crash from outside made her look back over the balcony edge.
Thor was falling.
Thor had crashed through a wall of the palace and was falling.
"No!" Sigyn ran to the door. The Einherjar met her.
"Princess, you must stay here."
"No- Thor's hurt-"
"By order of the king, stay here."
They shut the door before she could retort.
Frustrated, she ran out to the balcony. The Bifrost glowed. Again. But this time, it didn't seem right. It was too bright, too loud. Left on for too long. The Bifrost never took that long to activate.
Thor flew out to it.
He's alive.
Then blue light shone from the Bifrost. The Bifrost isn't that shade of blue..
More explosions. Something broke through the Bifrost observatory, which was quickly gaining power. No one had shut it down yet.
Where's Heimdall?!
Lightning struck the bridge. Another explosion.
Then silence.
Deathly silence.
The Bifrost was still gaining power, it looked ready to burst.
Sigyn gripped the edge of the balcony tighter.
Then a low, deep boom. A flash of light.
Another.
And another.
Someone's destroying the Bifrost.
Each flash got brighter. Louder.
Please, please, wherever he is, let Loki be safe-
A final blow met the bridge with a resounding explosion, bright as a sun. The shock wave of the blast spread out over the ocean, over the city.
Sigyn watched in horror as the Bifrost fell into the abyss. Nothing else happened. She couldn't make out if anyone there was still alive.
Thor must have escaped. And Loki is king - he would've stayed here to defend the palace.
The threat was gone. It had to be.
She squinted, struggling to see in the fading light. Thor was returning, along with someone else.
They're all safe!
Sigyn raced out of the room, past the Einherjar, who yelled after her. Past patches of melting ice. Past wounded warriors, who were making their way to the healing room. She ran until she saw Thor, returning from the battle, with Odin next to him.
"You're awake- You've healed!" Sigyn ran faster to meet her father. Her brother. Her family. "You're home!" She met Thor with a hug as tight as she could muster.
But he didn't chuckle. Didn't smile.
"Sigyn.."
"All right, yes, sorry," She beamed up at him. "But you knew I'd have to embrace you, you're home at last! You're both well and- where's Loki?" She spun, looking for him. Frigga had joined them, looking slightly hurt, but otherwise well.
"Loki?" She turned again, facing Thor. “Is he with the healers? Is..”
He gazed down at her with misty eyes.
A few feet away, Odin whispered to Frigga, who broke into tears.
"Mother?" Sigyn turned, meeting the queen's gaze.
Her blood ran cold. That look. That horrible, dreadful look, unlike any Frigga had given her before.
"Frigga.." Odin looked weary.
"No. There can be no more secrets between us." Frigga exchanged a look with her husband, who after a moment of thought, conceded.
"Very well.. But we will tell Thor first."
Thor stopped Sigyn from stepping in front of Odin. "Sister."
"Why does nobody tell me what's going on? Where is Loki? What happened to him? What happened to you?" Her breath quickened, her heart raced. Any semblance of patience had gone.
"That," Odin turned to her with a decisive tone, "Will be explained momentarily. Einherjar, keep Sigyn here. Thor.. Come."
"That's not fair-"
"Sister," Thor placed an arm on her shoulder, "Wait. Wait a while longer. Father knows what he's doing."
"I'm not so sure." Sigyn huffed.
The thunder god exhaled a heavy breath. "I know." He smoothed down her hair. "Please trust him anyway."
She swallowed. Nodded. Then watched as Thor followed his parents into a separate room, the door closing behind them.
~~~~
Sigyn waited for what felt like hours.
She heard hushed whispers. Questions. Crying.
Her stomach churned. Where's Loki? He'd come for me by now.. Maybe he's in the healing room. Maybe Thor couldn't bear to tell me he was wounded. But he'll be okay.
We will all be okay.
The door opened. Sigyn stood.
Stay strong.
Thor exited the room first, his face screwed into a firm, pained grimace. He paced back and forth, gripping Mjolnir tightly.
Sigyn decided it was best to leave him alone. She turned back to the doorway.
Frigga stood, waiting for her, tears streaming down her cheeks. Silently, she beckoned Sigyn over.
Stay strong for him.
Sigyn joined her mother, glanced over her shoulder at Thor, who halted in his pacing.
"Brother?" Her voice was soft. Pleading. She didn't want to face this, whatever it was, alone.
He swallowed hard, and without a word, walked in with her and closed the door.
Sigyn sat across from Odin and Frigga. Thor stood nearby.
Odin broke the silence first.
"Where to begin.."
"You could begin with how you fell into the Odinsleep," Sigyn piped up, growing tenser by the moment. A part of her expected Loki to burst in at any moment, desperate to see her. To know she was okay. To hug her and keep her close.
"No, I think we must start from the beginning. The very beginning."
Sigyn furrowed her brow.
Before he could continue, Frigga spoke up. "Sigyn," She swallowed against another bout of tears, "We ask one thing of you."
"Yes?"
"Try to let us explain before you respond."
Sigyn fidgeted.
Frigga's hands quivered as she took a deep breath. "Please, give us a chance."
Slowly, Sigyn nodded.
~~~~
Sigyn lost track of how long she was there, listening to their explanation. Seeing Frigga struggle to hold back sobs. Seeing Odin himself work to remain composed.
But she stayed quiet, as Frigga requested. The shock alone was enough to keep her silent. The pain reduced her to staying there, slowly sinking further and further into herself, her cloak pulled close like a security blanket.
Loki was a Frost Giant. Laufey's son. A Jotun prince.
He'd been abandoned. Left to die, because he was too small. A runt. Not good enough.
Odin found him when he was just a baby. Took him in. Lied to him. Lied to everyone.
Sigyn bit the inside of her cheek.
Loki had discovered the truth while on Jotunheim. Odin found him in the weapons vault, they had argued - the argument made him fall into the Odinsleep.
Loki felt responsible for Odin's strength giving way. Her heart ached for him.
The three kept explaining.
Each word felt like a knife sliding Sigyn's gut. Every sentence stung. By now, she'd forgotten she was crying.
Loki would never try to have Thor killed.
Loki would never conspire with the Frost Giants.
Loki would never try to massacre an entire race.
Not my Loki.
"...And with the Bifrost destroyed, Jotunheim was saved." Thor was standing, Mjolnir placed carefully at his side.
Sigyn gulped. ".. Where's Loki now?"
The room went silent.
Her heart felt ready to burst. Her voice quivered.
"Where is Loki?"
Thor gave her a solemn look.
"Father was barely able to grab us in time, keep us from falling into the abyss."
"So he's safe then? Unharmed?"
"He.. Sigyn, he pleaded as though he'd done all of this - the scheming, the manipulating, the killing - to make father proud."
Sigyn swallowed.
"When father denounced him, he.." Thor clenched his fists, "He threw himself into the abyss."
Sigyn turned away from Thor, looking to her parents, desperate for an explanation. There was no way. There was no way that what Thor was insinuating could be true.
Frigga covered her face. Odin stared back at Sigyn, stoic, and spoke.
"Loki is dead."
Your answers are always so thought out so I wanted to ask you something! It’s a heavy debate if MCU Peter is worthy to wield mjolnir because of his refusal to kill. But I read a fic where he was able to, not because he was willing to kill, but because he was willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good. Now, hear me out. What if Spider-Man is worthy because he his willing to accept his sacrifice in order so save everyone?? (I really hope this makes sense, I love your blog btw <3)
Thank you, sweetheart♥
Well, I think you’re 100% right.
When Christopher Markus was asked if Steve was worthy in Age of Ultron, he answered:
I'd say he's not completely worthy yet. He still has the secret of Tony's parents' death to resolve.
Sometimes we can’t take the writers/directors logic about the hammer because they change them all the time. Sometimes for Thor’s narrative, sometimes they change the narrative to fit Cap’s idealism and can’t even keep up with the logic that was established before in the franchise.
There was certainly a debate at one point because particularly in Ragnarok, it establishes that Thor can summon the lightning without the hammer. I think Odin even says, ‘It was never the hammer.’ And yet Cap summons the lightning with the hammer. You get to those things and you’re like, ‘It’s too awesome not to do it! We’ll talk about it later.- Christopher Markus.
In this part, you can see that Christopher didn’t even know that what he said was accurate:
Odin in Thor 1:
Whosoever holds this hammer if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.
Man, I’m sorry but this Russo is my least favorite one lmao:
Joe Russo, stated that Cap was always worthy of lifting the hammer, but chose not to in Age of Ultron in order to preserve Thor's ego.
(I love how for them, anyone who is more powerful than Cap or has done different than Cap is just simply arrogant or has a big ego lmaooo)
Here, again, writers and directors contradicting themselves. So, we’re not going to pay attention to their logic.
-
So, Peter was able to hold the hammer with his webbing in Endgame. Take into consideration the word ‘hold’, not ‘lift’. They said Cap couldn’t do it because he felt guilty about keeping Tony’s parents’ death. Peter, in his case, holds Ben’s death over his head all the time. Now, this is something that happens with most of the spider-man versions. But MCU Peter Parker can be an exception since, you know, they made Cap an exception too.
We’re going to follow the first Thor movie for real reference and we’re going to mix what’s happened in the recent movies.
In the first movie, Thor only regains his worthiness when he sacrifices himself selflessly and at the same time this is what frees him of what made him unworthy in the first place. So, in this case, even if Thor still felt like he did wrong, he could regain that worthiness by showing true compassion and selflessness. In a headspace where he felt like he could truly find redemption. MCU Peter has altruism down to a science. His first reaction to everything is to help people. For example, IW: being on a fieldtrip and deciding to help even if the space war was out of his league. Staying on the ship for his people and Tony. Homecoming: sacrificing human activities and normal experiences to do the right thing. FFH: being the first one to help everyone out (you can see that for him, it doesn’t matter if he’s helping civilians or friends, he puts them on the same ground) instead of running and hiding. And more.
Loki: What is this newfound love for the Frost Giants? You, who could've killed them all with your bare hands.
Thor: I've changed.
Then Thor asks Loki that if the throne is really worth what he’s done and become. You can see the change in Thor’s personality. He really had a change of heart. This means the hammer determines who is worthy regardless of physical strength. In this case, not only Peter can be worthy of Mjolnir but Tony is also worthy. Why? He was always willing to make the sacrifice. For everyone. For the greater good. And regardless of the guilt he’s always carried around, going by the MCU logic, the hammer would’ve seen past through that if he had a real change of heart about said guilt (one of the things that prevented him from separating himself from Iron Man but Tony’s unwillingness to change that guilt is because he doesn’t see himself worthy ‘I wanted you to be better’ his valueless comes with a price for him, therefore he can’t find himself in the same headspace). Because the hammer did the same with Thor and Steve.
Now, why do I make the Tony and Peter parallel?
Because we can argue that Peter Parker carries the same amount or practically some of the same guilt as Tony Stark; (when you can do the things that I can but you don’t and then the bad things happen, they happen because of you) and because of that, he can never bear to clear his conscience of what he considers his past mistakes (Uncle Ben, Beck hit a nerve in FFH by telling Peter that if he was stronger Tony would be alive, and more), therefore, Mjolnir would not find him worthy. But as said before, MCU Peter is different. I’m sure that if they broke some rules for Cap, they can do it for Peter.
So, in conclusion, I think you’re right. Maybe next movie Peter finds his true way to redemption. Not for the public’s eye, but for his own heart and principle.
I’ll Protect You Forever
Rating: PG
Warnings: none
Characters: Loki Odinson, Thor Odinson, Frigga
Mentioned: Heimdall, Odin Borson
Loki pressed close to his brother as they listened to the seemingly endless battle outside. He knew that they should be safe in the palace. He knew that it was most guarded part of Asgard, but if these attackers managed to get past Heimdall, he knew they must be strong and smart. Nothing got passed the allseeing gatekeeper that he and his brother loved so dearly. The thought terrified him.
“It’s okay,” Thor whispered, pulling Loki closer into his side. Mjolnir was propped up against the bedroom door. It wasn’t the most effective protection, of course. Something could easily break the door above the hammer when they found they couldn’t force it open. Then, of course, there was the window on the opposite wall. He just hoped that it would give them a fighting chance.
“I’m scared, Brother,” Loki whispered. He had not yet begun his battle training, being much younger than Thor. He had learned a few moves from his brother and his friends, but it wasn’t enough. He wasn’t well-trained. He couldn’t fight properly. He had his magic, but he didn’t quite know how to control it. It flowed through him aimlessly, and he struggled to harness it enough to do much of anything. Frigga promised to teach him when he was older, but he feared that he might need to know how to use it properly now.
“The Einherjar will not let them find us, nor will Mother and Father,” Thor assured him. Loki wanted to believe him, but he could hear the nervousness in his voice. Asgard had not faced an attack like this in either of their lifetimes. It was possible that this was the first attack on the realm since the Fall of the Valkyrie, all other wars taking place elsewhere.
Loki just hummed uncertainly in reply. He felt Thor wrap an arm around him, his hand trailing through his overgrown black hair. Odin kept saying he needed a haircut, but Loki had come to enjoy the way both Thor and Frigga stroked his curls affectionately. He didn’t see any harm in letting it grow a bit longer.
“When this is over,” Thor whispered beside him, his gaze trailing to the moon that shone brightly outside the window. “We should go to the mountains. It’s been awhile.”
Loki smiled at the suggestion. He and Thor had camped outside the beautiful mountain range many times. The realm was a peaceful one. Peaceful enough that the princes were safe there, away from the city, even without being accompanied by their parents of any Einherjar. Sure, there were a few animal predators, but it was nothing that Thor couldn’t easily take out with Mjolnir if need be. It didn’t take much control of the hammer to knock out a weaker creature. “Could we?”
“I don’t see why we couldn’t,” Thor replied with a small smile. One that Loki had only ever seen him use with him. It was filled with love, and Loki couldn’t help but return it. Even when they would fight, all it took was for Thor to smile at one of his half-hearted jokes and he felt the tension leave his shoulders.
“I would like that.” Loki told him, shuffling even closer. He felt Thor lean down and press a small kiss to the top of his head. Lately, he had gotten to where he would push away at the action, but now he found himself savoring it. Because he was alone with his brother and scared and tired and he just wanted his mother to teleport into the room and let them know it was safe now. That the attackers were gone.
Loki froze as he heard a scratching at the window. He looked up to see a flying creature with a sharp beak. One he had never saw before. He felt Thor’s grip on him tighten at the sight of it, glancing between the window and his weapon as if he were ready to summon it if the bird-like enemy broke through. Something that happened only second later, the glass shattering onto Thor’s floor and a cry coming from the intruder before it dove towards them.
Thor, not having time to summon his hammer, threw a fist at the creature. Loki watched as it drew back, letting out a sound similar to a hissing snake. It spat something at them and Thor pushed Loki farther away as the liquid splattered to the floor, eating away at the stone. “What is that?” He cried, clinging to his brother’s cloak.
“I don’t know,” Thor admitted, reaching out for Mjolnir. “But whatever it’s spitting at us is corrosive. Some sort of venom!”
Loki nodded, watching as a lightning bolt traveled from Mjolnir to the creature, blackening its feathers. With a swing of the hammer, it was sent flying to the wall, limply falling to the floor. Loki was about to release a relieved breath when another came in, spitting at them.
Loki found the strength to pull a forcefield over them, deflecting the liquid before it could touch either of them. It faded as soon as it had rolled off, and Thor started to push him back again, always making sure to stay in front of the younger boy. This second attacker was larger than the first and took a bit more effort to defeat, but soon enough it crumbling to the floor as well. Only then did Thor turn to Loki. “Are you alright?”
Loki gave him a nod, his eyes wide with terror. He was physically unharmed, and that was enough. They could deal with the trauma of the situation after the adrenaline wore off and the battle had ended. For now, all the matters was they didn’t get hurt. “Are you?”
“I’m fine,” Thor assured him, his eyes flashing with sincerity at the words. “As long as you’re okay. That’s all that matters right now.”
With that, Thor turned to swing at a third creature that had made its way into the room. Loki briefly wondered if he could manage to put up some sort of shield over the window to protect them. He knew that it wouldn’t be very effective with how easily they broke through the glass, but he thought it might slow them down, at least.
So, after Thor defeated the third attacker, Loki summonded as much magic as he could and held his hands out. Gold-green lines floated from him fingertips and he watched as his magic carefully crafted a twisty screen of metal over the window. There were gaps large enough to let the moonlight speckle the floor, reflecting off the broken glass, but they were not wide enough for any of the creatures to push through. The only problem was that Loki was struggling to get the spell to stick.
“I can’t hold it!” he hissed out. He concentrated as much as he could, not daring to look over at his warrior brother as he urged his fragile seidr to hold. “Norns!”
“It’s okay, Loki,” Thor said carefully, though he didn’t touch his younger brother in fear of breaking the spell. Loki just shook his head and kept pressing. He thought he was going to collapse before he felt the familiar feeling that let him know the spell had worked. He let out a relieved sigh as he dropped his hands, slumping against Thor and closing his eyes.
Loki felt a hand on his cheek, a thumb rubbing circles against his jawline as Thor cradled his head. “I think we’re safe now,” he said quietly. “The battle seems to be dying down.”
Loki nodded tiredly in agreement. He could still hear the sounds of the creatures and the Einherjar’s battle cries, but he did think they seemed fainter now. Some of the noises almost sounding like whoops of victory, he thought, a smile creeping onto his face. Asgard would win this battle and he would live to see another day.
“You should try to sleep,” Thor said quietly after the room fell silent for a few moments. “It’s getting late.”
That was an understatement, but Loki didn’t pull it out. It was well past midnight. Well past his nine-thirty bedtime that he often begged his parents to extended just another half-hour. Now, after having only slept an hour before being ushered to Thor’s room by their frantic mother, he longed for that extra thirty minutes of sleep. His body craved it. So, he let himself doze.
Loki wasn’t quite sure how much later he woke up to a hand in his hair. He smiled sleepily when his eyes met Frigga’s. She had a few scratches on her face, but her smile was soft and her eyes were warm. “Hi, Baby.”
“Mother?” He asked quietly, blinking the lingering sleep from his eyes. “Is it over?”
“It’s over, Loki,” Frigga assured him. “Let’s get you back to your room.”
Loki’s eyes widened before his gaze flickered to Thor. He was relieved to find that his brother was still by his side, an arm wrapped around him protectively. He looked tired, too, but Loki could see that he had been awake the whole time. “It’s okay,” his brother assured him. He glanced over at the shattered window and then up at their mother. “Could I stay in Loki’s room tonight?”
“Of course,” Frigga said softly. “As long as it’s okay with your brother.”
Loki didn’t hesitate before nodding. Frigga just smiled in response and helped the tired boys to their feet, leading them to the next room. Loki was relieved when he was finally able to crawl under his covers, Thor at his side. They had slept in the same bed many times in the past, but Loki wasn’t sure he could remember the last time it happened.
“Brother?” He prompted quietly after Frigga had told them goodnight and left them to sleep. He was exhausted and wanted sleep more than anything, but he worried that he might forget what he wanted to say if he let himself sleep first.
“Hm?” Thor opened his already-closed eyes to look into Loki’s. Loki was faintly award of his brother draping an arm over him, hand again finding his black hair.
“Thank you for protecting me,” he said softly. It was when he said something like this that he truly felt his age. That he realized he was only a child and could not do all the things his brother could do just yet. For now, that was okay. He just wanted Thor to know that he was grateful for him. That he was glad he had such a great brother to stand up for him with all his power.
“There is no reason to thank me,” Thor said simply. He brought the hand that wasn’t twisting Loki’s hair to his face, rubbing at his right eye. “I’ll protect you forever, Loki. You’re my brother, and I love you. More than anything.”
Loki smiled and closed his eyes, pressing his head against Thor’s chest as his brother encircled his arms around him in a hug. “I love you too,” he mumbled, already feeling himself starting to drift back to sleep. He was much more relaxed now, knowing that they were safe. “More than anyone else.”
Warnings: Swearing, mentioned death and violence
A/N: Thank you to @mo320 and @hermionie-is-my-queen for proofreading and helping with the ideas for this chapter, thank you to @writeyourmindaway for making these awesome text dividers im so excited to use them all
You feel numb, you hear voices around you but you don't care enough to listen. Phil was gone, he was always there for you and now you'd never get to see him again. He promised it would be okay and now he's gone, how could he do this? He knew how broken you already were and he just lied to you, you shouldn't be angry but you were. It felt like losing a parent all over again. How dare he do this to you, how dare he make you feel this way, how dare he think you were strong enough to make it through this.
You’re suddenly snapped out of your thoughts at the sight of a set of bloodstained trading cards. How dare he, how dare he, how dare he. You feel yourself snap, you stand up and pull your chair off its hinges and throw it against the wall in a fit of rage. You walk out of the room leaving Steve, Tony and Nick behind you.
You sat on the floor across the bloodstained wall. It's hard to believe you'd never see him again. You quickly wiped the tears falling down your cheeks when you heard two people walk in.
"Was he married?" Steve was walking towards you with Tony following behind.
"No. There was a uh- cellist, it was nothing serious though." You wiped your hands on your pant legs.
Steve held his hand out to help you stand. "I’m sorry. He seemed like a good man."
You took his hand and thanked him. "He was."
"He was an idiot."
You scoffed at Tony's comment.
"Why? For believing?"
"For taking on Loki alone."
"He was doing his job."
"He was out of his league. He should have waited. He should have-
"He was doing what he thought was best." You couldn't take it anymore, they were talking as if they knew the kind of person Phil was. "He was always willing to do whatever it took to save the people he cared about most."
"Sometimes there isn’t a way out, Tony."
"Right. How did that work for him?"
You clenched your fist as he spoke, you couldn't stand the way he was talking about someone you cared about.
"Is this the first time you’ve lost a soldier?"
"We are not soldiers! I’m not marching to Fury’s fife."
"Neither are we. I may have known Nick for a long time but that doesn't mean I trust his intentions."
"He’s got the same blood on his hands that Loki does, but right now we gotta put that behind us and get this done. Now, Loki needs a power source, if we can put together a list-"
Tony looks down at the place Coulson fell, there is a dent in the wall. "He made it personal."
"That’s not the point."
"That is the point. That’s Loki’s point. He hit us all right where we live. Why?"
"To tear us apart."
"Yeah, divide and conquer is great but- he knows he has to take us out to win, right? That’s what he wants. He wants to beat us, he wants to be seen doing it. He wants an audience."
"Right. We caught his act in Stuttgart."
"Yeah. That’s just previews, this is- this is opening night. And Loki, he’s a full-tail diva. He wants flowers, he wants parades, he wants a monument built to the skies with his name plastered....Son of-a-bitch"
You follow Steve into the med bay.
"Time to go."
"Go where?" Natasha gives Steve a confused look.
"I’ll tell you on the way. Can you fly one of those jets?"
Clint walks out from the restroom, drying his hands. "I can."
"Then suit up."
You walk past Steve as he leaves the room and pull Clint into a tight hug. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine." He pulls away and puts a hand on your cheek. "I'm sorry about Phil."
You close your eyes for a second and will yourself not to cry. You feel Natasha wrap her arms around you.
"It's going to be okay."
"I know." You take a deep breath and give them both a small smile. "Come on, we gotta go."
The four of you make your way to a quinjet, when you enter you see Darcy waiting in the copilot seat.
"Quinjet is fueled up and ready to go when you are."
Steve gives her a hesitant look. "Maybe you should stay behind."
"No." You walk up next to her and turn to face Steve. "She is coming and that's final. We need all the help we can get and there's no one I trust more with my life than her."
He gives you a half smile. "Alright then. Let's go."
Darcy and Clint take their seats and prepare to take off.
The quinjet comes around to Stark Tower, Clint and Darcy start blasting the army who are firing at them. One of the wings is grazed by Chitauri gunfire. One of the jet's rotors is hit and the quinjet begins to fall. Clint and Darcy hold on for dear life while you, Natasha and Steve grab a hold of the roof as the jet grazes buildings and crashes to the street.
The jet harshly lands on the street and the five of you make your way outside
"We gotta get back up there."
You all run onto the overpass, looking up at Stark Tower. You freeze as they see a giant armored Leviathan -- a warship of the Chitauri, flies through the portal with more warriors.
"We need to help these people. "You start to look at the destruction around you and the people running for their lives.
Natasha and Darcy start to shoot at the Chitauri coming towards them. "We got this, you two go."
You and Steve leave the three of them fighting and jump off an overpass, rolling onto a bus and into the street. You run through the street and jump off cars towards a group of police shooting at Chitauri, once you reach them you two jump down on the car in front of them.
Steve starts to gesture towards the buildings around him. "You need men in these buildings. There are people inside and they can be running right into the line of fire. You take them to the basement or through the subway, you keep them off the streets. I need a perimeter as far back as 39th."
"Why the hell should I take orders from you?"
Two Chitauri warriors land next to the two of you. You each fight them off easily, Steve with his shield and you with your sword. You both turn back to the two men.
The two cops stand in shock. The police sergeant reacts and walks back to his men. "I need men in those buildings, lead the people down and away from the streets." He talks into his radio. "We need to set up a perimeter all the way down to 39th street."
You and Steve run back to Clint, Natasha and Darcy. You each knock out a few Chitauri as the rest are killed when Thor drops down from the tower with a bolt of lightning.
"What’s the story upstairs?" Steve walks up to Thor and questions him.
"The power surrounding the cube is impenetrable."
"How do we do this?"
"As a team."
"I have unfinished business with Loki."
You and Clint look at each other then towards Thor and speak in unison. "Get in line."
"Save it. Loki’s gonna keep this fight focused on us and that’s what we need. Without him these things could run wild. We got Stark up top, he’s gonna need us to-" Steve stops once he sees Bruce arriving on a motorbike.
Tony suddenly flies around a corner and towards the group, followed closely by the Leviathan.
Bruce climbs off the motorbike, turns and begins to walk away, towards the Leviathan.
"Doctor Banner, now might be a really good time for you to get angry."
Bruce looks back as he continues to walk. "That’s my secret, Cap. I’m always angry." He then transforms into the Hulk and punches the Leviathan, smashing it into the ground.
Tony blasts a missile at the creature and it explodes. You quickly grab Darcy and pull behind an abandoned car to cover her from the explosion.
"Alright, listen up. Until we can close that portal up there, we’re gonna use containment. Barton, I want you on that roof, eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays. Stark, you got the perimeter. Anything gets more than three blocks out, you turn it back or you turn it to ash."
Tony grabs Clint and flies him up to the top of a building, then flies off.
"Thor! You gotta try and bottleneck that portal, slow ’em down. You got the lightning, light the bastards up."
Thor swings Mjolnir, flying off.
"The four of us, we stay here on the ground, keep the fighting here. And Hulk!"
Hulk turns around facing Steve, who points at him. "Smash!"
Hulk grins, then leaps off.
You quickly fight off the remaining Chitauri around you, sword in hand prepared for more to arrive.
"Captain, none of this is gonna mean a damn thing if we don’t close that portal."
"Our biggest guns couldn’t touch it."
"Well, maybe it’s not about guns." Natasha looks up towards Stark Tower.
"You wanna get up there, you’re gonna need a ride."
You look towards Darcy knowing exactly what she was thinking. "There's only one way to get up there." You sheath your sword and take a few steps back.
She has a smile on her face as she makes her way over to the other side of the overpass. "The Dugan way."
She runs towards you, jumps on and off the hood of a car and with your hands you give her a boost. She grabs on to a passing Chitauri vehicle and flies off into the distance.
Natasha looks towards you. "I think I like the Dugan way. You mind giving me a boost too?"
You chuckle and she runs towards you, the same way as Darcy you give her a boost and she grabs a hold of another vehicle flying by.
You look to your right and there are more warriors coming, you unsheathe your sword and look to Steve. "You ready?"
He grips on to his shield. "Ready as I'll ever be."
Back to back you fight off each Chitauri. He throws his shield at them and cuts them in half as you stab them through their chests and slice off their heads.
You hear Clint over your earpiece. "Guys, the bank on 42nd, past Madison. They’ve cornered a lot of civilians in there."
"We're on it."
You both jump through a window of the bank and begin to fight. He snaps the neck of one and throws him into the pit while you shoot another. He is grabbed by a warrior and you quickly pull him off and toss him to the side. A grenade-like device goes off, Steve grabs a hold of you as it blasts you both out a window and onto a car. You stand silently while police lead the civilians from the building.
Soon all civilians are evacuated from the area. Thor arrives and the three of you fight off Chitauri warriors. Steve is shot in the ribs and drops to the ground, Thor sends a car rolling towards some of them and then throws Mjolnir in the other way. He helps Steve to his feet.
"You two ready for another bout?"
"What, you gettin’ sleepy?"
You look around you genuinely worried about how much more you can all take. You suddenly hear Natasha over your earpiece and get hopeful.
"I can close it. Can anybody copy? I can shut the portal down!"
Steve hears and reacts. "Do it!"
Tony speaks up over his earpiece. "No, wait."
"Stark, these things are still coming!"
"I got a nuke coming in, it’s gonna blow in less than a minute. And I know just where to put it."
You see him fly past you with the missile on his back. After he makes it through the portal you look around you and see the Chitauri warriors collapse, and the Leviathans fall from the sky.
You wait a few more seconds before you hear Steve speak up. "Close it."
You look up to the sky. "Come on Tony." You smile when you see him fall through the portal back to earth. You quickly start to panic when you see him plummeting to the ground. "He's not slowing down, someone needs to catch him."
Thor prepares to fly at him and catch him when the Hulk grabs him out of the air, slides down the side of a building and crashes to the ground in front of you. He throws Tony off him and you all run over to him. Thor pulls off his face plate.
You fall to your knees next to him, you place a hand on his cheek and you feel a tear fall down yours. "Uncle Tony," You listened for a heartbeat, then see the arc reactor is not glowing. After all these years of feeling nothing but hate towards him, you start to sense a new feeling. You're hurt, this isn't how it should end, after losing Phil, you can't lose your Uncle Tony too.
Suddenly the Hulk roars and beats his chest. Tony, shocked, gasps and opens his eyes, looking around. "What the hell? What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me."
You smile and wipe away your tears. "We won."
"Alright, Hey. Alright. Good job, guys. Let’s just not come in tomorrow. Let’s just take a day. You ever tried shawarma? There’s a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don’t know what it is, but I wanna try it."
"We’re not finished yet."
"And then shawarma after?"
Loki crawls over to a stair and turns to see you all surrounding him. Clint has an arrow aimed at his face. Natasha is holding his scepter. Hulk growls. "If it’s all the same to you, I’ll have that drink now."
You're all standing in central park ready to go your separate ways. Thor and Loki vanish into the sky with the tesseract in hand.
You say goodbye to Clint and Nat and you let them know you'll see them soon. You walk towards Tony, you smile at each other and pull him into a hug. "Don't be a stranger, Grandma and I would really like to have you around in our lives again."
He pulls back and kisses the top of your head. "Of course, I'd really like that."
You say your goodbyes and walk towards Darcy. You tell her to wait in the car so you can quickly talk to Steve. "Captain Rogers."
"Please, call me Steve." He smiles at you.
"Alright. Steve, if you'd ever like to visit my grandma just let me know. I'm sure she'd be very happy to see you again." You hand him a card with your number on it.
He takes it and puts it in his pocket. "Thank you, I really appreciate that."
You walk back to your car, you call back to him just before getting in. "And Steve. If you need any help adjusting to this new world, feel free to call me." You gave him a smile and got in your car before he could respond.
"Did you just give Captain America your number?"
You look towards Darcy and laugh. "Shut up." You drive off and think to yourself. A lot of things will be changing soon. Some for the worse, but hopefully many for the better.
WIP Wednesday, kind of!
for @grandthorkiday this year, I really wanted to finally finish the fic I started for it last year, but that didn’t happen because literally everything is happening at the same time this October and also it’s hard to focus on writing in general right now. but then I thought of this older Sakaar fic that has been vaguely on my “I’m almost positive this is practically done if I would just put some time and effort into finishing it (but it’s also totally possible it’s nowhere near as close to being done as I think it is)” list for ages, and I realized it totally fit the definition for Grandthorki, and I thought maybe I could finish that real quick instead!
...I couldn’t. there’s a lot more to this one that needs to be written than I kind of thought, in part because it’s so old I wrote it before Ragnarok ever came out, so it was based purely on the trailer (and then inspired by some speculation by @theotherodinson, I think), and to finish this fic I would first have to decide if it would be more straightforward to just keep going with my pre-Ragnarok speculation or change the setup a bit to fit the film. also I would have to turn a bunch of bullet points into an actual conversation that would have to...make sense? and, like, establish things? and that’s hard even when my brain isn’t busy constantly screaming.
but! I can post most of what I already wrote, just for fun and because at least this is something Grandthorki-related that I haven’t already posted elsewhere! knowing me this could backfire because then I won’t have as much motivation to try to finish it but on the other hand it’s been sitting at this exact level of unfinishedness for like three years so it’s probably not going to hurt.
warnings: I kind of don’t know what to say here because nothing actually happens but there’s a lot of discussion of rape and graphic violence, so...warnings for that!
[the basic premise/assumption here was that Thor ended up on Sakaar at some point in his search for the Infinity Stones, was forced into the Contest, and gradually gained more of the Grandmaster’s favor and attention because he’s Thor and he’s great at fighting. it’s probably been months at this point, he’s one of the Grandmaster’s champions, and that earns him a reward that he extremely does not want: a few hours with a sex slave, basically.]
The Grandmaster calls them his pets, sentient beings he keeps because they are pretty rather than for their fighting prowess, but the term seems only partially accurate given that it implies both ownership and some level of exclusivity. The latter, at least, seems to apply on a purely arbitrary basis according to the Grandmaster’s whims. There are other appropriate terms, certainly, and Thor has heard plenty from the guards and his fellow warriors. “Pleasure slave” seems to be the most accurate while still remaining within the bounds of marginal politeness.
“Grandmaster must like you special,” the guard says in a confiding tone as they walk. “This one used to be one of his favorite pets, all personal like—didn’t share him much, real picky about what anybody could do with him. Guess the mouthiness lost its shine. Oh yeah, that reminds me—” He digs into his bag and emerges with a handful of metal. “Boy’s really got a mouth on him, so use this when you get tired of it. Or if you wanna make sure he won’t bite; he still hasn’t learned his lesson on that either. Up to you though; walls are soundproof, so whatever you get up to won’t bother nobody else.”
It’s a gag, Thor realizes, reminded with a jolt of the muzzle he fastened on Loki before bringing him back to Asgard, and he cannot afford to think about Loki now. “Thank you,” he says as politely as he can, “but I have no need of…that.”
“You do, trust me,” the guard says. “Only way the boys have found to shut him up and stop him biting. Never met somebody who runs his mouth like that. Dunno why the Grandmaster liked him so long. Oh, and it opens, see—” He twists something at the side of the gag and part of the mouthpiece folds inward. Another twist and the opening widens, and it takes very little creativity to imagine how the mechanism would force the wearer’s jaw wide. “Careful with that, by the way,” the guard adds. “Two turns gets him open, three or four is good, keep going and you can dislocate his jaw—which is fine, fixed that before, it’s just the kind of thing you probably want to know you’re doing, right?”
Thor’s stomach turns over. When he is free of this place, he will come back to help the other slaves. He forces a smile. “I assure you, I do not need such an instrument.”
“You’ll thank me when you change your mind later,” the guard says, shoving the gag into Thor’s hand. Thor gives up and takes it, because if he has learned nothing else in the last few years he has at least learned the importance of picking his battles. “He hasn’t been fed today, either, so no worries he’ll puke on you. Might get him to cooperate if you promise him food after, but that never really works with this one, so, probably a waste of time. All up to you though. Anyway—” He puts a hand over the locking panel and the room’s outer door slides open. “I’ll lock you in, come get you in a few hours. Comms are open in case you need something. And ‘cause we get bored.”
“And if I prefer not to have an audience,” Thor says.
The guard snorts. “You been here this long and you don’t get how things work? In you go.”
Thor sighs and does as he’s bid. The outer door hisses shut behind him and the inner door slides open, revealing a modestly appointed bedchamber. The bed is the largest thing in it, a sturdy-looking wooden construction with prominent bedposts, but Thor’s attention is drawn immediately to the figure kneeling on the floor. He is facing away, though not by choice; his wrists are shackled behind his back and bound to a metal loop in the floor with a short length of chain. Thor has no doubt the positioning is deliberate, just another way of reminding the slave of his powerlessness. His shoulders are rigid, his fingers curled into fists—blue fingers, Thor notes, with black nails, and blue skin at the back of his neck under black hair. Probably Kree, then, which makes it a little odd that he is not being used in the arena, instead of…this.
Thor grimaces and moves to put himself in the slave’s line of sight.
[aaaaand naturally the slave is Loki, miraculously alive after dying in Thor’s arms on Svartalfheim! also he doesn’t recognize Thor at all and in fact remembers nothing prior to waking up half-dead on Svartalfheim and being scooped up by the Grandmaster somehow! this is all very upsetting for Thor! it gets more upsetting when, in the conversation I haven’t written, Loki starts working really hard to goad Thor into a temper and Thor realizes what he’s trying to do!]
“You want the gag,” Thor says finally.
Loki jerks back, his mouth snapping shut. He recovers quickly, his eyes crackling with anger, but he’s not quite fast enough to keep Thor from glimpsing a flash of fear underneath. “What I want is irrelevant. This is about what you want, that is the entire point, and I know your type, dozens of times over. You’re a warrior. You want to win. You want to hear me beg you to stop, to show mercy you delight in withholding. And I am telling you now, you can do anything you like but you will not hear me beg, not for anything. So use the damn gag.”
And with a flash of nauseating clarity Thor gets it, why Loki’s working so hard to goad others into forcibly shutting him up, because it’s the one tiny piece of control he has left. Unbidden, the image forces itself into his mind: Loki, eyes squeezed shut in pain, screaming into the gag and clinging to the very last scraps of his pride with the knowledge that if he breaks and begs for it to stop, no one will know—clinging to those scraps even though his defiance hurts him, because he has been left with nothing else that is still his.
[Thor gets real upset! upset enough to unlock his lightning powers without access to Mjolnir? yep!]
Loki’s red eyes widen, his bravado visibly wavering, and his voice shakes just a little as he says, “Well done, that’s actually a new one.”
“I’m sorry,” Thor says, “this will hurt, but I will be quick,” and he reaches out one crackling hand for the collar.
[Loki’s eyes widen etc. here instead probably] and he cringes away, raw panic breaking through his bravado, but if the guards are not already on their way they will be soon, and there is no time to spend on reassurances Loki will have no reason to believe anyway. Thor steels himself and lunges, seizing the chain at Loki’s wrists with one hand and his collar with the other, and Loki’s body snaps taut as lightning floods into him.
Once, over a century ago, a journey with Sif and the Warriors Three went disastrously wrong, resulting in Thor and Loki stranded alone on Muspelheim, relentlessly pursued by a dozen Fire Giants and unable to get far enough away to safely call on Heimdall. By the time the giants truly cornered them, they’d been running for three days straight without water or sleep, Loki’s magic was nearly depleted from several aborted attempts to hide them and open a pathway between realms, and Thor couldn’t draw down a storm from the painfully dry desert air. With no options remaining to them, Loki convinced Thor to channel the last dregs of Mjolnir’s lightning through Loki himself, in the theory that doing so might amplify what little remained of Loki’s magic and grant him the power needed to escape. It was a mad, desperate gamble that could have easily killed him and nearly did, but it worked, leaving Thor with—among other things—an unsettlingly precise knowledge of how much lightning Loki’s body could take without dying.
He has not thought of that incident in years, but he is glad of it now, especially without Mjolnir to help him control his power.
When everything clears, Loki is sprawled on his back, staring up at Thor and breathing hard, freed of all his bonds. His expression shifts through pain and fear and shock into confusion and then, finally, a faint glimmer of recognition, and he says hoarsely, “…Thor?”
Thor exhales, relief and battle-lust tangling inside him, and holds out his hand to help Loki up. “Come, brother. It’s time to get out of this place.”
Loki stares at him for a moment longer, his throat working, and then he reaches back and takes Thor’s hand.
Chapter 7: Glass Making
Our honeymoon was spent between the bed, the beach, and the pool. Everyone went into full time, holiday mode for once. We were relaxing and just enjoying each other. I was proud of them for just being able to turn off the way they all did. I thought Steve would keep checking in with Hill and Fury, but I never caught him doing that once. Instead, he was mostly out in the ocean with Thor, Clint, and Wanda, or at the bar with Tony and Sam.
There were a few small complications. Bucky was having a little bit of a problem with sand and the salt air with his arm, but Tony would use an air compressor to clean it out when he needed it. Mornings could be a little rough with Wanda’s and Natasha’s morning sickness, but with the right combination of ginger pills and bland food it usually passed before lunch and we’d spend the rest of the day sunbathing, swimming, going to the spa, or fucking. Most of the time we were just relaxing and having fun.
There was a buzz of excitement about me getting pregnant too, and Tony was extremely protective of me, which I found very funny. There was a firm rule; ‘the only dicking down Elise gets is his’. He seemed to really want to make sure that baby was biologically his.
It wasn’t until the second week that Tony wasn’t just hovering over me all the time, ready to try again at a moment's notice. I was taking the time to just relax on the beach, stretching out topless on a rug and getting some sun. Thor came striding down the sand wearing nothing except a pair of dark blue swim trunks. He had a bright pink frozen cocktail in one hand and Mjolnir hanging from the other.
“Elise,” he boomed, coming over and sitting beside me. “You are without your shadow.”
I chuckled and lowered my sunglasses, looking at him over the top of them. “Mmm… it’s nice isn’t it?”
Thor placed the glass down in the sand and Mjolnir above my head on the rug. He leaned down on his elbow so he was hovering over me and looked down into my eyes. “Very nice,” he agreed and brought his lips to mine. His hand ran up my side and caressed under the curve of my breast. I moaned softly and arched my back so my breast pushed up into his hand.
“Is Tony not being here a big turn on?” I giggled as he broke the kiss and began to kiss down my chest and latched on to my breast.
“My wife lying half-naked on the beach is a turn on,” he said looking up at me as his fingers danced down my stomach and slipped into my bikini bottoms.
I moaned and reached down and palmed his cock through his trunks. “I’ll have to do it more often then.”
“It is just good to see your inhibitions dropped,” he said as he slowly fingered my clit “There are always so many people to worry about doing such things. It is exciting, is it not?”
“Oh yes,” I gasped, rolling my hips up against this hand. His cock hardened under my hand, and I outlined it with my palm as I stroked it up and down.
Thor chuckled and pushed my legs apart before kneeling between them. “Try not to attract too much attention,” he teased before pushing my bikini bottoms to the side and running his tongue up in a wide swipe.
I hummed and closed my eyes, tangling my hands in his hair and tugging on it lightly. He began to slowly and methodically lap at my cunt. I rolled my hips against his face as he very gradually increased his pressure and pace and became more focused. Despite his warning not to attract attention, he was in no hurry to get this over with.
My cunt tingled and my toes curled. I gripped his hair and pushed him harder against my cunt grinding it against his face. He groaned loudly and pushed two fingers inside me. He twisted them inside me and spread them, adding a burn to the buzz traveling through me. I rocked my hips faster and faster as I got closer and closer to the edge. Just as I was sitting right there on the edge, Thor pushed his fingers against my g-spot and I came, bucking up against his face.
He groaned drinking up the fluids that gushed from me. He started to crawl back up my body, pushing down his trunks just enough to free his cock.
“Woah,” I said, putting my hand on his shoulder. “Where do you think that’s going?”
“You don’t want it, Elise?” He purred, kissing my neck and palming my cunt.
“Thor,” I moaned, rolling my hips against his hand without even meaning to. “Not until I’m pregnant.”
“But you are, my queen,” he said, his hands still sending waves of pleasure running through me.
I froze and looked up at him. “What?”
“I just noticed as I came over, mea vida,” Thor whispered. “You are with child.”
Tears pricked my eyes and I pulled him down into a deep and passionate kiss. As his lips caressed mine and his tongue flicked into my mouth, he sunk his cock deep inside of me. I moaned into the kiss and wrapped my arms around him, holding him close as he rolled his hips with mine, pulling himself up so that the base of his cock rubbed against my clit.
I raised my hips and pulled my knees up and he moved to his knees and pulled me up more, starting to fuck me hard. He leaned down, his spine curving, and his muscles flexing as he pounded into me. I reached my hands over my head and my hand wrapped around Mjolnir’s handle. A crackle went through both of us. It made my muscles clench and my hips buck up hard. I cried out and lightning started to dance on our skin and blue plasma leaked from our eyes.
“My goddess,” Thor groaned, looking down at me. I cradled his jaw and we began to move as one. He leaned down and kissed me deeply. Everything was intense, there was no thought of no longer attracting attention, we were loud and bright. Electricity danced along the sand, turning it to glass as we got closer and closer to our orgasms.
“Oh god,” I mewled, arching my back up. He angled his cock so the head hit my g-spot again and again. “Thor, Thor, I’m so close.”
“I am with you, lover. With me,” he groaned and picked up his pace.
We came as one, I cried out arched right up off the rug and Thor roared and he jerked inside me and released. A crash of lightning exploded out of us and burst up and along the sand.
As everything settled, I collapsed back panting. The ground was hard under me and when Thor rolled from on top of me onto his back he started to laugh in a soft deep rumble. “I think we marked our spot,” he chuckled.
The gate that led to our bungalow opened and Clint and Steve came out. “Well, well, well, what have you two been up to?” Clint teased.
“That thunderclap scared the shit out of me,” Steve added.
“Sorry,” Thor laughed as he got up and I put my bikini top back on. “We were taking a moment and Elise took hold of Mjolnir. Two thunder gods coming together like that will always make a mark.”
“Jesus,” Clint said, coming over and kneeling beside us. He brushed the sand away from the glass on the ground. “You can say that again. You made a sex sculpture.”
I got up and moved the rug. Beneath where we had a thick piece of glass had formed. Branching out from the large center where we lay were long tendrils of glass that resembled the roots of a tree. “That is beautiful,” I said. “Can we keep it? I bet it would look amazing in a fountain.”
“Yes, that’s what we need, El,” Clint teased. “A big ol’ sex sculpture.”
I pouted and Steve sighed. “Thor and I will dig it up and put it on the jet.”
I ran over and kissed his cheek. “Thank you, Steve.”
He wrapped his arm around my waist and drew me close. “Weren’t you supposed to be holding off on penetrative sex until we knew you were pregnant?”
I smiled up at him. “I am pregnant.”
Steve’s eyes went wide and then softened. “Really?”
I nodded, tearing up again. “It is true,” Thor added.
“Oh, El,” Steve said and leaned in and kissed me deeply. Clint moved up quickly and when Steve pulled back, Clint pulled me into his arms and kissed me too.
I pulled back and leaned against Clint as his calloused fingers brushed over my stomach. “El, I think there’s someone you need to go tell before everyone else.”
I nodded. “Yeah. Yes. I’ll go do it.”
“And tonight we’ll have a nice family meal on the beach to celebrate,” Steve said. “Four new children. This is going to be interesting.”
“You’re telling me,” Clint said. “Thank god we’re getting nannies.”
I flicked through the threads, locking on to Tony’s and I followed it to where he was sitting at the Bar with Sam.
“There she is,” Sam said with a slight slur in his voice. He held out his hand to me, and I took it and let him draw me in against him.
“What was the bang?” Tony said. “Gave me a minor heart episode.”
“I was making lightning with Thor,” I said.
“Well, warn a guy next time,” Tony said. “Were you looking for us? Ready to try again?”
I smiled and took Tony’s hand, putting it on my stomach. This was what it was supposed to be like when you were having kids. People were supposed to be there for you and be excited. I was so happy to be getting it now and I wanted to drag it out as long as I could. “I’ll doink you if you want.”
“Doink,” Sam giggled. “You’re so sexy, princess.”
“I know I am,” I teased. “We don’t need to try anymore though. So it would just be recreational doinking.”
Tony blinked at me as Sam wrapped me in his arms and kissed my neck. “Congratulations, babe,” Sam whispered.
“Seriously?” Tony asked.
“Yeah. Thor just told me,” I said smiling and playing with Tony’s fingers. “You happy?”
He seemed to be frozen and in the moment between heartbeats, I began to panic that he’d changed his mind and he was going to panic again.
All at once, he lit up, a huge smile crossing his face. He drew me into his arms and kissed me deeply. His hands going into my hair. I started to cry as we kissed, my emotions getting the best of me. I was so happy. Tony pulled back and brushed the tears from my cheek. “Why are you crying?” He asked.
I shook my head. “I just… can’t believe we get this life.”
He smiled and pulled me close. “Me either, honey,” he whispered. “But we do, so let’s just enjoy it.”
I was thinking about a scenario for the TLC Gold Saints, what if they meet Thor from the MCU or the other Avengers.
Funnily enough, I though about the same exact scenario, but with the classic goldies and/or the God Warriors. Happy to know this is not just my bizarre thinking.
Never though about the TLC Gold Saints, but oh boy, it would be nothing short than amazing. Just imagining Thor, who’s definitely not a real god and actually an alien, dealing with people that not only fight for a real goddess but also are aware of the existence of other gods... that’s amusing.
Same goes for the opposite. These Saints know gods are real, and probably know how to recognize real ones if they see them. How much disbelief Thor is going to see on their faces when he claims to be a god? Definitely a lot. Degél is definitely going to side eye him and roll his eyes at how wrong that statement is, while Manigoldo will laugh. I’m willing to bet one of them is going to alternate looks between Thor and Asmita and just shrug, because clearly one is more powerful than the other and it’s not the asgardian. Probably Rasgado, I don’t think he’ll say something out loud anyway.
Dohko is going to point out to Thor that he’s not actually a god, with his usual grin, and poor Sisyphus will have to calm down the ensuing fight because there’s no way Thor is not a real god. El Cid will just scowl at him, and who knows, maybe Thor gets on his (mostly calm) nerves and next thing he knows Mjolnir gets sliced in two and he’s back crying about his dear hammer.
The best thing, though, is Thor trying to showcase his lightning and thunder power, and getting completely annihilated by Regulus. Imagine him trying to reinforce the fact that he is a god, throwing a punch at Kardia to show his strength, not even move a single hair on his head and subsequently getting punched away like a stuntman yanked by a rope. Sure, Thor is powerful, but not as powerful as a Saint that can use his cosmo to disintegrate a rock with a single finger.
Although, they will recognize how strong and powerful he is, even though he’s not a god and they’ll keep trying to remind him of that. They will be curious about him, about his Asgard and about his companions, because of course they will be. Albafica is not going to let him come close anyway, alien or not, but he will ask questions about his origins and culture.
The goldies with more academical knowledge will try to confront his version of the story with proper mythology, and most of the others (Kardia has to be taken away by Degél) will fight against him to confront their abilities and power. Asmita will not be too impressed by his story of him withstanding the power of a star without dying too much, but is interested nonetheless.
The other Avengers will probably just listen in utter disbelief at the Saints, seeing their world completely turned upside down. Turns out the one they though was a god is not actually a god, but deities exist and have warriors fighting for them? Yeah, that’s a big pill to swallow. Just imagine poor Steve trying to cope with the fact that mythological creatures and people exist, or Tony trying to figure out how the Cloths work/are made. Natasha and Clint will shrug and try to befriend them, because powerful enemies are a pain and they’re good folks to hang out with. No questions asked on their past from the goldies’ part, they understand harsh training and unfriendly backgrounds.
Clint and Sisyphus are going to get into an archery competition, the latter encouraged by Regulus. Poor Clint doesn’t know what awaits him. Bruce is definitely having a conversation with Aspros and Defteros, and Asmita and Wanda immediately bond because I say so (sorry not sorry). My boy Pietro would be amazed by how fast Gold Saints can move.
Shion will be locked in conversation with Tony as soon as he discovers about his ability to repair those Cloths he doesn’t understand. All that tech and mechanic talking is enough to get him a headache, because Tony doesn’t wat to believe he repairs them using stardust and other cosmic materials.
This is, obviously, if the Avengers don’t try to attack them on sight. Because if that would happen, well... let’s say no one would be left to tell the tale.
I came up with all of this on the spot, because my own interpretation of an eventual crossover between Saint Seiya and the MCU is mostly based on the classic characters, but I hope you still had some fun reading. I know this is not my best, but I’m not living a good time right now, so please forgive me.
Also, Thor’s power and strength in the MCU is not consistent. He’s shown surviving a full blown star blast, yet he can get knocked down by much simpler stuff. Saints, on the other hand, are still inconsistent but a little bit more consistent, if the plot doesn’t call for shenaningans. So there’s that. Because of this, I generally believe he, despite the “god” label, would never be able to reach the same strength and power level of a Saint. Especially a Gold.
P.S. All the Saints minus Aspros can lift Mjolnir. When faced with this conundrum, Aspros made Thor grab the hammer and lifted him instead. I love dicking with Aspros, you know by this point.
