today was not a day for drawing. i need to understand that my goal of getting better at things that may be remotely useful is a long term goal. and also that i am primarily a writer as opposed to an artist. god it’s so embarrassing to be bad at something I’ve only been doing for less than a year.

Maybe unpopular opinion, but I actually do like the way the whole “oh yeah, sometimes Jedi fuck” stuff is presented in recent books, because of course, the emphasis on it being a personal, individual choice, but also the implication that many Jedi do not fuck. Not because sex is forbidden or shame-based in the culture, but because within the Order, people more often choose not to, to the point that the footnote mention of “oh, but some do” needs to exist in current canon. 

It’s a society of communal living. Everyone pitches in on everything from childrearing to food growing to medicine, regardless of interpersonal relationships. Titles like father or wife that tie reproductive/family cycles to lifetime connections or property don’t exist. I love the idea of many Jedi choosing celibacy happily, and the Temple being a great place to live a lifestyle where your connection to others are expressly not dictated by a romantic or sexual relationship. And the inherent, platonic intimacy of a psychically-connected community. I really love thinking about it.

Artyom (reading the name of the news program; Nikita says something indistinct too): NOW. A small sound from Nikita, something between a chuckle and a cough. Artyom starts laughing and hitting the floor, Nikita joins him for a short moment. Artyom (talking about the news anchor's face): What a fucking mug! Fucking awful. (but more rude than that) Nikita (voicing the woman, in a stupid voice): HELLO, I'M A SILLY WOMAN. (Artyom chuckles) I have... (the scene changes to show some people) Oh, fuck (OR he says "Buryat", hard to tell), fuck off. (Nikita makes random sounds and growls, Artyom laughs) Nikita (reading the text in the bottom right corner, in a stupid voice): "Mongolia?" Fuck it, they'll be Buryats (a Mongolic ethnic group native to southeastern Siberia) anyway. (Artyom chuckles) AAAAAAAAHH! (Artyom laughs) Nikita starts speaking ("I- *something else*"), but Artyom interrupts him, voicing the man on the screen himself: I'm a Buryat, but I live here because I like communicating with Irkutsk people, they are all so kind, but they all beat me the fuck up. (Artyom tchk's with his tongue) Yeah. I also suck skins (skinheads) off. (Artyom takes a deep breath and makes random sounds, presumably trying to imitate the Buryat language)

a silly headcanon i have for peeta is that he is just LOUD. not just his feet when he walks. he has a voice that you can pinpoint out in a crowded room. his laugh can be heard above everyone else’s. sometimes when he gets excited his voice gets even louder and he has to ask katniss “i’m yelling, aren’t i?” when he notices her eyes getting wider. he can command a space with his words but also his sheer volume.
