But the way Cas' relationship with the other angels is so homophobic racist conservative christian family coded.

With how long this fandom has been standing, I know I'm just saying something this fandom been knew. I just needed to get my thoughts out before I exploded. Hopefully, it's a good read anyway, though.

ALLUSIONS AND REFERENCES TO LOBOTOMIZATIONS AND CONVERSION CAMPS W/ NAOMI IS A GOOD START.

Ever since Cas met you, he's gone against us, which is your fault for exposing him to that idea. Putting the blame on the other party for your family member's queerness, talking away their responsibility AND autonomy on those decisions.

(I'm not even gonna talk about the connotations underneath "touch.")

Castiel was always off compared to other angels, more empathetic to humans, which only got stronger when meeting Dean because of the applied context of his love confession in 15x18. aka queer af.

(There are so many lines that follow/support the gay/queer interpretation, "spanner in the works," "love of humanity," etc. etc. etc; he's always seen as someone who doesn't fill the mold in a suspiciously rainbow-y way.)

"Who are you gonna believe? Your brother? Or this filthy ape?"

Ishim is probably the best example for the most overt racism, but most of the angels have exhibited some level of disdain, consider humans impure/lesser beings with microaggressions, or even just straight up racist terminology toward humans or other such kinds of discrimination and that's just real now. While this could also be read as homophobic, I think it's more applicable to racist ideation.

(The thing is, I can let Cas of the hook because it's conditioning that he grows out of, but it's clear this is a generally baked-in, cultural aspect to the behavior of angels. This quote also fits in with my next point!)

"It's us, or them," "We gave you our trust. Don't lose it over one man," "You draped yourself in the flag of heaven, but ultimately, it was all about saving one human, right?" etc. etc. etc.

Hammering home the concept that is Cas' driving plot of the series; where do his loyalties lie, and more importantly, that they are mutually exclusive. Because of the inherent nature of their groups, he has to pick one or the other. Angels constantly give him a choice, which is a rather passive aggressive tactic.

If the angels just changed their opinions, the Winchesters would gladly allow more angels in their group, but they chose to have this worldview and then demand that Cas follow it to be accepted in their society. You know what that sounds like?

Talk to me once you get over this gay phase. I'll wait.

"Lost," "pathetically weak," "human weakness," etc. etc. etc.

A general association between Cas' love for Dean as weakness/an obstacle to have to overcome. There are many lines that denote their relation under these terms, which indicates that they believe that Cas' love for Dean is actually damaging, which lines up uncomfortably well with Christian values of how being queer is seen as a sin, weakness if you will, getting lost and helping you find your way

(Which also ties into the conversion camp/lobotomy thing.)

And there is one aspect to this, which I think is the most fascinating, but is definitely not the only one left, I'm just kind of blanking right now.

The emotional strain it causes Cas is palpable. You can see how this scrutiny affects him on a deeply personal way that I relate to on a deeper level than any other character as a person living under similar circumstances, and I think a lot of people share this sentiment, which is why it almost feels TOO on the nose sometimes.

Mayhaps...... Intentional.

ANYWAY,

Of course, context is vital for these scenes, and Cas has done some pretty awful things to the angels in the past, but the way these scenes are framed/phrased can be EASILY read this way. It lines up startling well.

Dream is too nice.

That's a statement a lot of people say and it's true. I know this is gonna sound parasocial but I don't care.

Dream is one of the nicest CCs out there, someone who begs other to try and communicate with him and gets attacked over and over and over again and I HATE seeing that he does not learn from those experiences.

'Punz is my friend', no. No he isn't. As someone who has lost friends before I KNOW this hurts. Aknowledging that someone fucked up and did something to you is hard but it has to happen sometimes. Did Dream fuck up? Yes, yes he did. You just don't flirt with your friend's gf/on-off-relatiobship/whatever Punz and Andi were.

However that was in 2021, when peak pandemic happened and he explained why he did what he did. Which is fine, the relationship was toxic af anyway. There should have communication happened that DIDN'T. But you can always talk shit like that out when it bothered one of the people in the situation.

But it seems like Punz didn't. Instead he decided to use a situation that happened completely privately and air it out to possibily millions of people. Ignoring the reason as to why Dream wasn't named in the first place in the original statements.

And why did he do it? Cause throwing Dream under the bus isn't hard and it wasn't the first time Punz did it. Punz used a moment where people were already talking badly about Dream to distract from his own allegations, saying he was never friends with Dream and held him at arm length.

Even when that obviously wasn't true, Punz was more than ready to LIE about it to make Dream look as bad as he could. He was ready to give up a year long relationship with a friend to safe is own ass.

That's not friendship. A friend doesn't do that to you and the fact that Dream can't see that HURTS. Because yeah, they seemed to have talked about it in private now, but why not doing that sooner? Why forgive someone who obviously didn't care about your feelings when writing that damn essay of a callout post that was obviously only deleted because people were memeing on it.

I am so so happy to know that Dream tries to always see the good in people. But he has to learn that not everyone is your friend, that no everyone can be your friend and that not everyone wants to be your friend nor deserves to be your friend. And Punz is one of those.

Again this is very parasocial but as someone who has given their own friends a lot of chances only to be disappointed over and over again, my heart aches for Dream.

obviously - cooking and giving Gin food and watching him react, Sanji is always interested and always happy to see Gins enthusiasm especially because Gin accepts and celebrates every dish made by Sanji like the most incredible thing ever. Sanji has that proud "damn good right" reaction just like he did the first time he fed Gin and Gin loves to praise him, Gin curses his poor vocabulary for not being able to come up with more ways to say how much he loves the food.

Sanji worries and cares A LOT if Gin starts coughing or makes weird sounds with his chest, he honestly would consider avoiding smoking around Gin. Sanji gets such a genuinely worried look in his eyes, it's so amazing to see on his face that Gin is somewhat thankful for how messed up he is (he is sick in the head too, but he just loves Sanji and seeing deep sincere concern for HIM in Sanji's eyes, oh it makes him feel things)

Sanji undeniably likes being loved so much, even if Gin is awkward about it, even if he is bad at expressing it ("its written on his dumb ugly face" sanji would think) - Sanji loves being loved even if he cant quite respond with Gin's level of intensity - Sanji cares about Gin A LOT. He feels it especially strong when Gin touches and holds him, Sanji melts right back so easily and doesnt think of much when he runs his fingers through Gin's hair and kisses him (much to Gin's awe)

She nodded, biting her lower lip while she recalled her dream. “It’s not always quite the same, some minor details change at times” Nadia started saying. “It starts with me waking up in a lush forest, usually barefoot and empty handed. In the dream, I know I’m looking for something so I start walking, watching every step. At times, I wander in the forest for what feels hours or days, with only a bird overlooking my movements.” Nadia began to walk around the doctor’s office almost unconsciously. “Do you remember what kind of bird it is?” the therapist questioned with a soothing tone. The girl shocked her head, long brunette hair falling in waves down her shoulders. “I’m not sure, it’s either a crow or a raven, I can’t really tell the difference” said Nadia, frowning her eyebrows uncertain. The doctor invited her to go on with an encouraging hand’s gesture. “Please, go on” Nadia squared her shoulders for the next part: it usually plagued her most recent nightmares and it scared her to death. “Suddenly, I stop near a tree to inspect it and at a closer look I understand why. And then, I’m running for the hills, the creature…or man… whatever it is, it’s following me at full speed and I can’t escape, I can’t hide, I’m like a prey counting the seconds leading up to her death.”

2. The second is an excerpt of an original short story I wrote years ago for a contest called "Dark Seas". I was one of the 3 lucky winners! 🥰 It is not published in English (yet) but here is a little glimpse of it (translation is unedited, it's still in its raw form). 🌊🧜🏻‍♀️

And then a sound interrupted that moment frozen in time. The piercing sound of the general alarm urgently shook the Leviathan’s walls. The man looked up to the ceiling, swearing a bunch of profanities. He barked orders like a rabid animal, his eyes setting at last on the lifeless body of nurse Michaels. “Clean this mess, start the evacuation procedures, NOW!” he ordered peremptory, but no one around him seemed able to move a muscle. “You’ll die, general” declared Seline coldly. The sclera of her eyes shifted color, slowly turning into a deeper shade of blue in stark contrast with the pale iris. “You’ll die alone and forgotten in the depths of the abysses that you believe you can conquer for your dirty deeds” The man looked at her as if seeing the mermaid for the first time. “The ocean does not forgive. This is a promise” murmured Seline, voice sweet as honey before parting her lips and singing a wordless melody. She closed her eyes, listening carefully to the sound of the ocean. She could feel it, right there in the distance, the chanting of the waves screaming for vengeance. The mermaids are coming, my sweet darling. Seline projected that reassuring thought to Eloise, and a sense of calm overcame her. They’re here.

3. The third scene comes from an old, abandoned story about ghosts loosely based on my old school and a dream. 👻

“Tell me. Tell me what you saw,” he demanded, eyes boring a grave look I had never seen before. The sweet lull of the water made the moment feel surreal. I was still grasping for breath when Garrett moved. He cradled my nape gently, the other hand tangled in my wet hair in a silent prayer. He should not have been this close to me, but his touch felt like a reassuring anchor to reality. I parted my lips, words struggling to emerge under Garrett's intense, worried gaze. I frowned before finding the courage to let the truth come to the surface. “Are you familiar with Charlotte, Charlotte Wrought? The only daughter of Darren Wrought?” I said, swallowing my fears. Garrett nodded, not leaving me or moving away even for a second. “She did not take her life. She was murdered."

4. This is from my beloved Teen Wolf fanfiction. I spent a lot of time on it, sweat and tears spilled while shaping the plot which spread through the first three seasons of the show. It was my comfort throughout a very difficult summer. Now it's just a dusty memory on my pc. I won't say what's going on in this scene, just in case I decide to continue it eventually. 🐺🌕

A/n - Mounty is my favourite ghoul(our lanky boi is underrated af), and the idea for this came to me whilst dancing round the kitchen to ABBA :)

No matter how many times he tossed and turned, Mountain just couldn't find a comfortable position. This was the 5th night in a row where he was struggling to sleep, and he was getting sick of it. The worst thing was, he didn't even know the reason as to why he suddenly couldn't sleep. By this point, he'd given up trying to sleep.

Refusing to continue the battle of trying to sleep, Mountain put on a white shirt and black shorts before slipping out his room quietly. He tip toed down the hall, his tail swishing behind him softly. Unfortunately, he stepped on the one creaky floorboard right outside Sodo's room. He winced, gently stepping off the board in hopes the fiesty fire ghoul hadn't awoken. Mountain took a few gentle steps forward before hearing the door swing open behind him.

Slowly, he turned round, seeing a drowsy looking sodo glaring at him. "Sorry Sodo-" The fire ghoul cut him off. "Save it mount, not your fault this fucking ministry is older than Satan himself." With that, Sodo turned and went back into his room. Mountain sighed and carried on slowly making his way to the kitchen.

The closer he got, however, the more evident the light shining under the door became. Either someone else was up at this hour, or someone had just forgotten to turn the light off. Mountain leaned towards the latter since he had never seen or heard anyone else up in the early hours of the morning.

Once at the door, Mountain pressed his ear to the door, hearing a muffled noise on the other side. He listened curiously and smiled at the sound of your voice singing the song, "Take a chance on me." Slowly, he pushed the door open and held back laughter, seeing your small figure dancing and flaunting round the kitchen with a pair of headphones on. He then spotted some messy bowls on the counter with a handful of ingedients next to them. Clearly, you were baking something.

The thing Mountain found the most adorable about the whole situation was how oblivious you were. You were washing some batter off your hands at the sink, so you had your back to him. He quietly moved into the room and closed the door before slowly making way over to you. On the beat, he pulled your headphones off and sang the male line. "Gonna do my very best, and it aint no lie." You gasped and turned round, looking up at your ghoul partner before bursting out laughing. He chuckled and kissed your forehead before holding your hand and pulling you into the more open part of the kitchen.

The both of you then started to dance and sing to "Why did it have to be me," being just as dramatic as each other. At one point ,you accidently knocked into some pots and pans hung on the wall, causing a lot of clanging. You and Mountain looked at each other before bursting out laughing and continuing to dance about. Soon, the song died down, and the mountain stood in front of you, leaning down for a kiss.

However, right before your lips touched, the kitchen door flew open, revealing a very angry looking Papa ,accompanied by an even angrier looking sodo. Papa was the only one to speak. "Good choice of music, but for satans sake, would you two KEEP. IT. DOWN!" You and Mountain sheepishly nodded as Papa walked off, follwed by Sodomizer who just glared at you the entire time.Once the door was shut, you looked at each other before giggling quietly like cheeky school girls. You may have been told off and gotten caught twice, but it was definitely worth it.

I have a question for you concerning the show and racial education. Like, it's wrong to call Armand manipulative? Bc I found him very manipulative, but I don't want to sound racist telling it. How should I point his faults? Or I shouldn't?

It's not wrong to call Armand manipulative or Louis a liar or any of those things. Every character is complex and u can say that out loud! It's great to have black and brown characters have these layers instead of be one dimensional stereotypes. It's also good there's so many of them around too, not just one or two. U don't have to worry about sounding racist for commenting on what the writers and actors are saying is there for u to see in the characters.

What makes this stuff racist is if u were to talk about it in a way that reveals ur own bias. This is what a lot of the white fandom ppl do. A rly obvious way would be like "u can't trust Louis to tell the truth, he's black," or "show Armand feels less innocent than book Armand." Most ppl aren't doing that tho. Usually u'll see it in ways like how Lestat's behavior is talked about in a way that's easily forgiven, misunderstood, or going to be revealed to be a lie, but *everything* shitty about Armand is true, no question. Then there's usually a doubling down of "it's not about race, it's in the books!" The show has so far not given any indication that Lestat is innocent of anything, so to want everyone to lighten up on the white guy but say the brown one is "clearly" evil is gonna make u sound racist af.

Ur meant to feel uneasy about Armand rn, about Armand and Louis, about the theatre, all of this stuff. All of these characters are doing things that are fucked up and meant to have u questioning everything. If u look at how ppl write, u'll see how often Daniel and Lestat are seen in positive lights for doing fucked up shit that black and brown characters can't do without being instantly condemned. How many ppl said Louis is the worst for anything he does to Daniel but overlook *all* Daniel's behavior towards Louis (AND Armand AND the staff)? If Lestat were the one doing those things to Daniel, ppl prbly wouldn't even notice. Did u see ppl complain about Lestat making that man slap himself in the theatre in S1? Even when Lestat is doing some antiblack, outright abusive shit to his own family, the fandom is calling it "cunty." No other character has done anything close to that but we're supposed to forgive him already because that was all "Louis' lies" and "we'll see the truth soon" (that it was all Armand, wtf). Louis does a fraction of a fraction of that to a white character, who is consistently being disrespectful towards everyone, and he's "gone too far." Do u see the difference? We're going to be seeing more of Armand so u can watch how the fandom is gonna be racist af about this in real time. Ppl will not be as affectionate to him as they were to Lestat. He's going to instantly be said to be "bad" and "evil" and Loumand is fucked up, Louis needs to go back to Lestat etc. These are things u can rly think too, it's not racist to not like Armand or Loumand because it *is* fucked up. But u'll see the difference still tho. Ppl who overly imply "it's not a race thing" when hating on Armand, Louis or Loumand are probably racist because there's no reason to have to clarify that if it's not. Nobody rly thinks ur racist for saying stuff ur supposed to notice. Nobody needs the black and brown characters to be perfect, we know they're all fucked up too. It's the *way* u talk about it.

ok now that i've had some time to process this week/weekend i think im ready for a little vent? a ramble? just talk about what happened? yeah i like that, just talk about how this weekend went.

ok so this whole week was us keeping an eye on hurricane beryl since we live in the coastal bend out by Corpus Christi.

on friday my mom made the decision that we all should leave, with my husband driving up front leading the way to San Antonio because it's up north and rain was probably the worst they were gonna get.

so saturday she has me book the hotel, map out the drive, call up my sister in law, and all i can think about is how is my child going to act because he has a tendency to act wild.

not his fault, he's 4, he's got that adhd energy, and he's all about routine and this trip really did fuck with his routine.

so sunday morning, i get up at 4 something, i'm double checking the bags, double checking the local news, weather channel, packing lunch boxes for him to snack on the drive cause San Antonio is like 2 hours away, even if we go through Mathis, its like 2 hours.

im doing this and im trying to wake my husband up so he can help me load up the car and hes sound asleep 🙃

so im hauling ass to clean up because everyone all decided they wanted breakfast instead of buying tacos on the way out of town and my husband and child wake up at 6 to get ready for the trip and im like its fine. its all fine and honestly i wanted to scream.

we all load up in the two cars and my mom and her husband dont follow the gps well and they wanted to follow us instead of the gps because they're too set in their ways and thankfully my brother talked them into typing in the hotel address into the gps in case we got separated on the road.

anyway the fist half of the trip went without a hitch, until we hit the fist pit stop.

my child almost threw himself on the floor for a captain america plushie, one he ALREADY HAS and for a teddy bear backpack. it looked mangy af.

we get back on the road and he's eating his snack box, my other brother rode with us to help with the child and im grateful for that.

it wasn't until pit stop number 2 that all hell broke loose.

he went to the bathroom and on the way into the gas station they had a fuckload of looney tunes merch and those tweety palatas and he wanted one but we told him no cause it'll melt in the car and hes gonna gag when he feels it on him. he has a lot of texture issues and i was trying to avoid it.

instead we carried him out like a surf board and we had a 30 minute meltdown to deal with complete with spitting, kicking the back of the seat, taking his shoes off and trying to throw them at us, biting his blanky, throwing his stuffed animals at my brother who was trying to comfort him, and it was just a lot to deal with while we were trying to hear the gps and having to ignore my moms calls so we dont miss an exit.

we get to the hotel and my mom starts going off on how we drove so fast and that she almost lost us and she wasn't going anywhere and we were gonna have to go to the store for her.

i had to remind her we were gonna stay at my sister in laws because we dont have money for a room. we barely had money for gas.

we help her settle in and shes mad over the fact that the heb, walmart, and whataburger are a good distant aways and she was gonna have to drive to places and didn't want to. she claims i lied to her on the places nearby. i told her i didnt lie and i showed her on maps where the places were.

it was still too far for her. so me and my husband got our things and her list and bought what she asked for.

we got back to the room and everyone's on edge/upset and i feel so uncomfortable i wanna scream.

my child is wanting to run around and we all had to remind him its a hotel room and he can't be too loud or we can get kicked out. we ended up leaving to my inlaws after we got done running errands for my mom since her, her husband, and my brothers refused to drive anywhere in the city.

getting to my in laws was like driving to fury road oh my fucking god.

the construction!!!! i hate it. i'll never complain about Corpus traffic or construction again.

child ends up falling asleep on the way to the in laws and he ends up waking up when we get there and he makes himself right at home. he's never met my husbands sisters so it was really sweet how easy he went with them but also scary cause my child is too damn friendly and loveable.

the stay was stressful cause the house is not kid proof and thats not their fault, its their space, my sister in law and her husband have their apartment decorated their way and my younger sister in law has her space decorated her way.

we eventually get settled in and go to bed just to get a 5am wakeup call from my mom that the storm shifted waaaay the hell away and we can head back to town today.

packing up in chingas, waking up a sleepy child and having to guide him to the bathroom while hes half asleep was a thing, had to pack lunchboxes for him and then we were off.

we settled in and i wanted to sleep all day and i still haven't napped but i feel more relaxed now since the child is asleep and we unpacked and i feel better knowing the storm shifted.

the way back was a lot easier. one pit stop and the child didn't need to go to the bathroom until we got home so drive home was definitely a win.

i hope theres no more storms the rest of this hurricane season and i hope we dont have to leave anymore because i can't do this shit again.

I don’t even know how I feel about this mess of a show. I’m frustrated. It’s so fucking good yet I hate it!! Why? Cause why tf is Mew getting on my nerves yet again? If we think about it, he’s also using people for his own benefit, so that makes him selfish. Just if not almost as selfish as Ray which may i add is an idiot and I’m disliking him a lot right now. I love Khao but Ray is seriously getting on my nerves.

This is the best writing in TV because all these characters have potential of being liked and disliked one episode to the next. As of right now the only person I can tolerate and have tolerated from the start is Sand. Don’t get me wrong last episode he was petty af and wasn’t innocent at all either but he’s the only character I don’t fully hate. Mew is giving me a false act vibe with this bad boy wanna be era. I mean yes I’m glad he’s being petty but let’s be real, he had just met Top and you’re really gonna try and screw your friend, who you’ve probably known longer than your ex boyfriend, over. I’m hoping he’s doing it based off the betrayal he felt from Boston and not from Top which would make a lot more sense.

Let’s address the biggest fucking elephant in the room yea? Mew & Ray. Mew is being a sneaky little bitch yet again. Why are you now only gonna give Ray a chance? Why now after finding out the “perfect” boyfriend wasn’t so perfect? Why drag this poor guy around just cause you know he’ll always be there for you and love you? Sounds a little narcissistic to me not gonna lie. The corny Harley Quinn & Joker costumes for next week’s episode?? LMAO i actually laughed.

I’m gonna need Sand to not give in to this guy anymore, PLEASE!!! I beg of him. I’m not even sure I want sandray to be a thing anymore. That ending scene broke me!! How can Ray be so selfish after everything Sand has done?! I’m actually flabbergasted. Not me feeling bad for Boston and Top this episode lol but no fr maybe Top was falling for Mew, but idk I don’t really care for Top as a character tbh he lowkey fades out for me. Boston on the other hand, he may be a dick and all but at least he has no filter and tells people their shit like how it is. I actually felt bad for him. He was secretly recorded, twice!!! One thing I’ll give Mew is respect for not sharing it and instead handling it over to Boston but I’m not so convinced it’s gone.

I don’t even know what to expect next episode all I know is that it’s gonna be yet another shit show, sand better not be stupid and take the blame for Ray or fall into his trap again, Nick deserves better, sand deserves better, mew & ray are a shit show and the party is gonna be a big bag of shit. We shall wait and see…

Sorry adding in, Mark did an amazing job this episode. This poor baby is so in love with this man it actually hurt me but I can’t say I didn’t see it coming. He did do a lot of sneaky creepy shit to get Boston. Idk he deserves better but I can’t help feel bad for him.

A Dublin Story: wow, just wow. The subjects this short film touches on and the way it handles them are amazing, Rob was so young and his acting was already so powerful. He also managed to make Clocker very funny, I like it a lot.

Song For a Raggy Boy: what a pile of bricks, this movie is very very hard to watch. But it's a fun game of Spot the Rob. Lefties rise up!

The Tudors: I know his bit was cut, but boy did I spend hours watching over and over to see if I could spot him.

Hey, I kind of need advice, but I'll understand if you ignore this ask<3

So I was seeing a boy exclusively for maybe 6 months, kind of "manipulated" relationship treatment from him, which I didn't even realize back then. I was a bad person, who was so desperate for love and I didn't even appreciate what I had - I kept interrogating him about new girls in his followings, meanwhile I should've given him the benefit of the doubt. So he got fed up with it and since the end of August we still kept seeing each other, but without the label of exclusivity, but there were no new girls in his followings until recently. I thought I could take not being exclusive because I was so sure he's got gonna see other people, but I'm screaming crying throwing up right now and worst thing is I'm seeing him in 2 hours.

When he followed one of the girls maybe last week, I got on Bumble and found a bunch of guys, went on a date with one of them, but I can't seem to find more time to hang out with him again and I keep finding reasons why he's not "better" than boy1. I wouldn't have a problem with leaving boy1, but I don't wanna explain all of it to my parents (I'm in my 20s but they're nosy af), then explain I'm seeing boy2, how we met (even if I lie they'll know it was through a dating app), I feel so overwhelmed with all of this

oh sweetheart :( that all sounds so complicated. first of all i wanna say that it’s completely fine to come to my inbox for advice! secondly, i completely understand the way you’re feeling/acting, even though yes, it might be a bit toxic for the relationship. what you should do right now is take more time to understand yourself, look deep inside yourself and why you are feeling this sense of jealousy and lack of trust towards him, and where it stems from. if you figure this out, it will become easier to communicate it with him as well. also, please explain to him that not being exclusive is not an option to you, and that he either has got to be patient with your trust for him slowly building up throughout the relationship where he can show you that you can trust him, or that is not going to work for you at all. because if he can’t respect that and won’t have that patience for you, then he’s not the one for you angel.

also, don’t worry too much about your parents. dating is for experimenting and finding the one that matches you the most, so yes, it is completely normal if there are more boys involved in that. i’m sure they will understand that since they have been young themselves as well and if they don’t, fuck them! because this is your experience.
