design notes

Birds of paradise <333 Them being of the same bird family is important to me... (honorary mention to the snowy owl for Kristoph) (also honorable mention to the paradise crow) (but i like them having matching ribbons (and the two birds i went with are more closely related))

I originally tried giving Klav the whole fluffy back of yellow/white feathers, but (a) he looked SO over complicated (especially compared to everyone else) and (b) I realized that no other character has back feathers, anyways. so it would make sense he does not either.

The ribbon-tails are similar to Apollo and Trucy's hearts: they both inherit this feature from one of their parents. (One parent is a stephanie's astrapia, one is a lesser bird-of-paradise). (Also of note: the lesser bird-of-paradise also has two long wire plumes, if you look closely)

Tails: (Klav's is basically a ribbon-tailed astrapia's tail btw.) Because the tail is such a notable feature of these species, I'm including it, though they also come from the base of the wing (though I'll probably just draw them as essentially tails in the future), and are much shorter than they would be, were they proportional.

i got very lazy on the individual introduction sheets they're so bad 😭😭 specifically klavier pls just imagine he and his wings look better there 🙏🙏🙏 LOL i hope the other drawings make up for it !! >:3

(on the off chance that this did not happen, the squad goes out as cowboys — the sexy ones, with, like, only vests and low hanging jeans and frilly boots and bedazzled hats. and you? you’re dressed in an inflatable t-rex costume.)

Yes, that is super low for 911 standards. So was last week.

As I previously said, a highly anticipated Young Sheldon spinoff started airing same night, same time two weeks ago. That show blew up largely because of that relationship that this spinoff is based around. The Young Sheldon series finale had 9 million live viewers (unheard of these days).

It's the nature of the industry. A lot of people have probably switched to watching that show live and recording 911 or watching it on Hulu.

There's also sports programs airing over top of regularly scheduled programing in some areas so that doesn't help.

ABC cares about streaming numbers enough that I doubt it'll massively impact 9-1-1 in their eyes. They'd move 9-1-1 to a new night (or time) before they'd cancel it.

One time Goat! Ganyu got her head wedged between the bars of the fence at the sanctuary, and then Vet! Reader was called in to saw off parts of the fence while keeping a nervous Ganyu calm.

The Vet was definitely thinking “what the fuck” because woodworking was not in the job description for being a Vet and yet here she was; sawing off fence pieces like a lumberjack while Goat! Ganyu bleats for her to hurry 😭😭
