not sure if they failed to clap or if jxk dodged on purpose, hes been doing that. lg does take his hand after unlike the 1st. they play rps as they roll out, cxs gladly slaps lg but runs away when its his turn to get slapped.

during the next bit cxs has to drag lg over to sing, sometimes he comes over on his own sometimes ql calls him and them he goes. but this version is my fave.

lg wins all three rounds of rps, he looks so happy lol, he lost all rounds recently so this must feel great. also he slaps cxs very gently, but cxs still acted like it hurt

during rps song cxs has a very special prop... i knew that was around somewhere but i havent seen it used so thank you jxk. the rest of the cast all falling over lmao.

lg jukes(is that the correct word?) cxs during the handshake, this happens often. i think it happened on all 3 days here why is he so suprised.

then during the bow, im not sure what theyre doing like arm wrestling in air? lg calls him childish before the next song begins. during which jxk makes ghx cup his mic, this happened before but this time there is no excuse. they cup mics while singing so it sounds better ig, but not everyone does it. or maybe they do i havent been watching chronologically until now. also i like that theyre making group effort during introductions at the end usually its lg actor introducing everyone and well, i get it forgetting names.

jsk jukes the highfive at the start, but offers his hand a bit later, ghx rightfully slaps it away. i like when the trio holds hands as they roll out for the end of that song. also they fucked the heart up, or so it seems but ghx was looking and did that on purpose, why, that i cant say.

during sofa song cxs retaliates by pinching lg back, im glad, they always bully him in that bit, cxs actors should fight back more often. cxs has to drag lg to sing with ql, and ql pushes cxs and he falls of the table. very animated fall i was rooting for him.

lg does not win one round of rps, and goes to sulk, while cxs happily dances. this time it is lg who jukes cxs during the clap.

idk what theyre doing during the bow, but i hear pain noises and audiance laughing. when the lights turn on they arent in their spots, lg maybe accidentally jumpscares cxs, i really cannot figure out what was happening.

ql does a heart with her hands when they stomp on the table. again weird activites during the bow. when lights turn on lg is massaging cxs, and cxs says something but i sadly cant understand. one day. lg walks away and cxs sticks his pinky finger out, other actors seem confused, me too, lg laughs though.

peep the gap staying even on my side ? flex nyehehe… i can’t recall when i woke up ehe.. (this was the morning i weighed in !) i skipped my workout because i think i unironically cleaned my room for my entire day to ignore my mental hunger which is LOUD. AS. FUCK. i literally cleaned all the mess, did A LOt of decorating like, an excessive amount… all the way untill dinner time unironically LMFAO I DID NOTHING

this food was so…. SO.. good. i counted very well ! i ate it with chopsticks so i wouldn’t rush to shove it down my throat like a pig lol, it was super good, the fish was light, the shrimps were super yummy and tangy, the potato salad was nice, and so were the green beans.

after dinner i was like… um i don’t have enough steps so me and my mom went on a big walk so id get enough steps and i smoked some cigarettes too it was nice…

when i was home my mental hunger was. SO. BAD. i tried drawing to distract myself from my hunger but guys. instead of that happening i ended up staying up. the entire. night. drawing. because i couldn’t sleep, i wanted to eat food so bad.

i was calling eli the entire time and she made sure i didn’t eat because i really shouldn’t. i did break my fast at around 5 am, but i consider it a breakfast omad for today atp and im fine with that.

she made me a spider lilly out of arts and crafts supplies ?!?! it shocked me so much because it actually looked so high quality i was so shocked, i was so pleased and happy to see it even tho she can’t quite physically give it to me unless she ships it to me, she made it with me in mind and it almost made me cry LMAO.

i also finished all the lineart for my school project that’s a self portrait of sorts… but ofc you couldn’t literally just draw yourself, it had to be something that’s like a look into your soul. so i made an animation of my 2 main oc’s because i love my ocs a lot and i didn’t want to make something depressing about my ED or other illnesses… i chose joy and whimsy !!!!

here are my late night talk show thoughts.

i think in the modern era the only hosts who understand the potential of the format are eric andre (obviously), craig ferguson, and. ok i want to say ziwe but she has one bit she does and was not allowed the time to develop beyond that (i think she could) (ferguson took literal years to get into his groove and he was only allowed because a) white guy and b) some fabulously weird, impossible-to-replicate network circumstances i could go into another time). conan is good but i ultimately dont find him interesting in a long term way. if there were old people here theyd probably demand i have opinions about letterman or carson or something. i do not. suck it. wendy williams presents an interesting conundrum to me, her vibe is quintissentially daytime but i think the warm, slightly unhinged gossipyness of her show would translate really well to late night. ACROSS THE POND graham norton is good at what he does but im slightly bored because hes been doing it the same so long. i like how incredibly gay alan carr is but i cant deal w him in large doses. jonathan ross eh.

now, there is also the question of politics. i reallyl genuinely question the value of addressing political issues in late night tv monlogues/obviously colbert was on the fuck-trump beat for the entire administration, and john oliver and the daily show make an entire premise out of comic political commentary. its fundamentally useless. i think it just makes people feel smug. sure they occasionally learn something, but like. how much. and does it spur them on to greater action or learning? eh.

oliver is occasionally nice for edutainment, but id say its...how do i put this...not that late nighty? hasan minhaj's show was on netflix, and had a similar format, and worked just fine at any time of day. i really think shows like this do great if you slapped them onto the msnbc lineup or kept them on streaming. like its a different thing.

WHAT IM SAYING. is that the ideal late night host has to combine charisma, warmth, wit, and anarchy. they cannot be overly impressed with their celebrity guests. you need to look incredibly beautiful, talented, famous people in the eye and talk to them like a friend from college you havent seen in a long time - of course youre happy to see them and youre engaged and interested in them, but you see them as fundamentally on the same level as you. ferguson could make anyone feel like the prettiest girl in the room. andre makes everyone fear for their lives.

some people i think would do a really good late night show: laci mosely. scam goddess is great and i think acts as an audition on its own. amelia dimoldenberg probably. cant actually think of anything else right now. oh, right. ME.

Yoon Sae Bom is a special agent with quick wits and reflexes and another special quality. Yi Hyun is a detective investigating the spread of a mysterious disease. They are trapped in their apartment building when Han Tae Seok, head of the task force to control the spread of the disease, orders the complex to be sealed off from the rest of the city. Quarantine and disease reveal a social caste system, bringing out the best and worst of the apartment residents.

The Good Stuff:

The music in the last couple of episodes was so good?? Genuinely amazing.

Bit of a silly one: there was a scene in an earlier episode where one of the leads is giving a powerpoint presentation to a bunch of businessmen while discussing the cure and it got me thinking about the people responsible for making the little blink and you'll miss it slides for these scenes. I wish them all a good day.

The lead actors work so well together.

Actually every actor played their characters extremely well, especially the ones playing the more antagonistic characters. Bae Hae Seon is a fantastic actress.

Some people have said they didn't like how many references this series made to Covid-19 and the lockdowns, but I quite like it. It's subtle, and the idea that the country is still dealing with the trauma of the pandemic really adds new weight to the story.

Bar one child, not a single character in this show is wholly "good" and it is great. I would have liked a bit more recognition of the fact that the leads aren't necessarily always as good as they're portrayed to be, but eh. There are a lot of characters who are just horrible for the sake of it, and a few that are just downright evil, but there are quite a few who are presented in the beginning as these really unlikable figures that genuinely turn out to be some of the best people in the whole apartment block.

The Not-So-Good Stuff:

WHO KNOWINGLY LEAVES A CHILD WITH A DAMN SERIAL KILLER??? RIGHT AFTER TRYING TO KILL HER GUARDIAN??? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!

There's a character that's introduced in I think episode 2 and slowly built up as this "mysterious" figure throughout the entire series. He is then really, really built up from about episode 8 (?) onwards (bearing in mind this is a 12 episode series), becoming a major player in the final episodes. And his ending is just... Honestly a bit disappointing. Like it wasn't bad, but Idk. There were too many fakeouts.

Speaking of fakeouts, the closing minutes of episode 12 are just downright cruel (/j). I hope the writers are happy with themselves!!

I saw a review that said they felt the overall ending was a bit vague, and I can't help but agree. Apart from two of the main leads, the fate of the rest of the cast is only really implied and I think I would have liked a bit more of a visual confirmation of what happens. Especially after spending 12 episodes learning to love or hate them.

Now maybe I'm clutching at straws here, but it's established early on that the main male lead cannot/struggles to run because of an old baseball injury that really fucked up his knee when he was in school. It's a major part of this character. So explain to me how this man manages to run perfectly fine in just about every episode. I understand that he's probably exaggerating a bit when he said he couldn't run, but apparently this has really irked me.

Parts of the final episodes felt a bit rushed. It makes sense, considering it's the climax of the story and so everything has ramped up several gears, but it just felt like in some parts they tried to cram too much in.

Would I Survive?

Hey I reckon I could be in with a shot for a while, you know. As long as I could hole myself up in a house for a bit I think I'd have a good chance.

Rewatch Ability: 6/10

I enjoyed it, but, personally, I don't think this is something that I'll rewatch for a while. I'm not opposed to the idea but I just don't think it would be worth it.

Overall Rating: 7/10

Final Thoughts:

Normally I only watch a new K-drama when it's suggested to me by my friend. I think this is the first time I've branched out and watched one without recommendation, and honestly? I think I made a good choice. It combines all the best parts of fiction that small me used to love: the marriage of convenience to slowburn romance pipeline, the zombies, the morally ambiguous cast etc.

(And as a note, while there is a romantic plot between the two leads, it does not detract from the actual "apocalypse survival" storyline. The two plots actually mesh quite well together, and there is a good platonic foundation to the characters' relationship.)

I also love the whole idea of zombies who aren't always zombies. They "turn" back into humans after a period of time and either immediately regret everything they did, or want to do it again. And the more it went on, the more "human" zombies they introduced and the more "inhumane" the human characters became. It was such a good contrast. I don't fully understand the mechanics of the virus or how it affected people, but I don't particularly care. I enjoyed it.

Fun side note: I don't actually think the word "zombie" is used at all in this series. Everyone affected by the disease is referred to as the "infected".

“Come on, the voting boxes have been open for an entire week now! And the Splatfest starts in only a few hours!” Magolor practically dragged you by your arm to pledge your loyalty one of the three teams and to pick up your Splatfest Tee.

“Alright, alright! What even are the options this fest, anyways?” You asked. Magolor just stared at you for a good, long moment.

“You… haven’t heard? They finally gave us the fest we all predicted! It’s an ice cream themed fest— vanilla versus strawberry versus mint chip.”

You cocked your head to the side. “Interesting how they’d listen to us for once,” You smiled. “What team are you gonna choose, Magolor?” You added as you two approached the voting kiosk.

“Easy!” Magolor began typing in the player ID that was displayed on his splashtag. “I’m Mint Choco. How about you?”

You hummed, watching Magolor’s Splatfest tee be dispensed at the bottom of the kiosk. He then stepped to the side, allowing you to move forward and begin your selection. You typed in your player ID, and Magolor eagerly looked over your shoulder to see your choice.

You selected your team, and Magolor facepalmed.

“Vanilla? Really?!” He shook his head as you began laughing. “Whaaat?? It’s a classic, we get white ink, and Shiver is really cool!” You protested.

“[Name], you know that means we’ll be going against each other, right?” Magolor tried to hide his disappointment and looked down.

You frowned. “Magolor… don’t give me that face…” You looked around the kiosk area before taking a deep breath. “It’ll just be friendly competition, alright?” You decided maybe the best way to get him to perk up again was to tease him. “Are you just scared your team is gonna lose?”

“What-?! No!” You could’ve sworn that you saw him blush a bit.

“Then prove it to me by fighting hard for your team! And who knows, maybe we’ll come across each other in a match?” You cheered, and Magolor regained his determination.

“Right! I’ll go grab my splatling now, then! See you later, [Name]!” And with that, both you and Magolor rushed off to change your clothes and grab your weapons.

All was going well, and you were having a lot of fun! You kept going, match after match after match. Until eventually, when the splashtags showed on the side screens…

Oh NO.

You had hyped up Magolor earlier, but you knew damn well that he and his hydra splatling were absolutely KILLER. It would be a real challenge that you’re not on the same side as he.

Before you could think any further, you heard the “GO!” sound effect and was launched onto the map.

The map was Scorch Gorge. You and your teammates split up: The carbon roller stayed back to paint base, the aerospray mg took the left, and the painbrush took the right. You, however, were only left with one choice: Taking the middle.

You gripped your weapon and gulped before going for the center build. And lo-and-behold, Magolor was running over the grates to get to the center too.

A thought struck you like an e-liter, and you smiled mischievously. You would surprise Magolor, just to shake him up a little. You held your squid surge against the side of the center build, and waited.

After a few seconds, Magolor made it to the top of the center build and began inking it. But when you jumped up to surprise him, he immediately began charging his booyah bomb.

“Ah, shit…” You said to yourself as you squid rolled out of the center of the map. You made the mistake of looking back, to which you saw Magolor smirk and stick his tongue out at you before launching his booyah bomb…

directly at you.

SPLAT!

Once you respawned on the map, you smiled with malicious intent, albeit nervously. “Oh it is SO on!” You shouted as you charged back for the center. Before you reached the midpoint you made sure your special was charged, and launched it specifically at Magolor.

This went back and forth for the whole game, until the whistle sounded to mark the end of the turf war.

Everyone turned to Judd and Lil Judd except for you and Magolor. You two smirked at each other, waiting to boast to the other about who won the so-called “friendly match”.

Judd and Lil Judd took a good look at the map, and…

Lil Judd held up the teal flag. Team Mint Choco had won this turf war, meaning Magolor won!

You sighed, and hauled up your weapon to leave the lobby and take a break. However, Magolor rushed away from his team to find you.

“Hey! [Name]! Wait up!” He ran after you, to which you stopped and turned around. “Hm? Come to brag or something?” You half smiled.

“No, no, not at all. I actually wanted to say that you put up a really good fight. And…” He blushed in embarrassment. “You were right. It was really fun fighting against you for a change.”

Your eyes widened. “…Did you just learn that phrase?” You teased.

“SHUT UP!” Magolor smacked your arm as you laughed.

“Hehehey! Just being honest, Mags!” You countered.

“Right, whatever. Anyways, wanna go grab something to eat? I heard that there’s this really good food bar by the lobby, and I think you’d like it.” Magolor offered. You smiled and nodded.

“Sure! Let’s go,” You instinctively grabbed his hand. He began blushing, and you tilted your head to the side in confusion. Upon realizing your grip on his hand, you too turned red and immediately pulled your hand away.

“Sorry! I didn’t–“ “It’s okay. I… kinda liked it.”

You two walked to the food stand, Crab-N-Go, and decided to share a pescatariat royale.

“You’ve got something on your face,” You said with your mouth full, and wiped the piece of lettuce off his cheek. “Hey! Don’t speak with your mouth full! It’s rude!” Magolor said as he went against his own words, also guilty of talking before swallowing. You both began laughing as you took a sip of your drink to wash down the meat of the dish.

“You’re so cute, you know that?” Magolor asked. You stopped in your tracks, having not expected to hear such thing from the mage. Your face became even redder than before, having already been cherry tinted from all your giggling.

“No I’m not,” You denied as you looked away, trying to hide your blushing face. Magolor turned your head to look at him and lifted your chin to be closer to himself. What was in that pescatariat royale? It sure must be something with him acting–

You were cut off as his kissed you.

On the lips.

Your face may as well have been an advertisement for Team Strawberry with how pink you looked. Magolor realized what he has just done, and his eyes went wide.

“I’m sorry! I just– I don’t know what– I can–“ He cut himself off as he hid his face in his hands. You had to admit, you had feelings for him for a while. Yet, you pushed them down to some dark place in yourself, somewhere they couldn’t come between what you and him already had.

You pulled his hands away from his face, took a deep breath, and kissed him back. Now he too was a blushing mess.

“So uh… wanna go watch Deep Cut’s live show?” You said with a sheepish smile. Magolor, still recovering from whatever-the-fuck-just-happened, nodded. You gave him a moment to process things, to which he thanked you for.

You two spent the rest of the night exploring Splatsville, and had a blast despite not being on the same team.

good morning the colosseum hyperfocus continues. i’m gonna grab some light breakfast and then it’s time for mt battle’s battle mode for ho-oh (this is my first time ever doing it)

this is the team! i did the entire shadow purification grind without connecting to my GBA and i want to see if it’s possible to do mt battle without it too, so these are all my story pokemon from playing colosseum normally. i’m happy i kept the starter espeon and umbreon on the team lol. i chose not to use the legendary beasts because eh i’ve used those in playthroughs before and i just didn’t want to this time. i’m going to be playing doubles because this team was built for doubles for obvious reasons

by the time i finished catching and purifying every shadow pokemon, my flygon was level 66 but the rest of my team was between 60-63, so i had some grinding to do bc all my pokemon need to be the same level for this. i got all their levels equal last night by battling in all the various colosseums for completion’s sake - i don’t think i missed any? and this is how i got shadow ball on metagross for example, bc of the TM rewards

to be honest i’ve grown attached to this team in a way i haven’t with any colosseum team before despite playing this game multiple times. i’ve never really done the postgame for colosseum fully and as a result i’ve never put this much effort into movesets and generally thinking about my team because i haven’t had to - but unless i wanted to make my grind even more miserable, i needed to to take out overleveled opponents. and that’s been a blast for me! the slow incrementation of my team has led to really rewarding battles where i feel massive brain bc everything is always stronger than you 😭

i don’t think the novelty would still be there if i did this again, at least not anytime soon, because colo’s teambuilding options are limited due to the lack of viable pokemon to choose from, and also that shadow purification grind is a nightmare straight from hell (i had fun with it bc i like video game grinding but doing it twice in a row might destroy even me lol) but this time it was really fun!!

colosseum is really like if the indigo disc DLC was an entire video game (high compliment bc i loved ID) and you also didn’t have access to easy grinding/resources in general so you really have to think about the choices you make and how you spend your time. i was thinking so far ahead while using TMs and there’s no move reminder in this game so i had to think carefully about levelup moves as well. you have no idea how long i lingered on whether or not i should delete confuse ray on umbreon, etc 😭 this game reminds me how much i love double battles and i wish there was more singleplayer double battle content in pokemon a lot

anyway i’m just rambling at this point but i’m excited to take this team to the finish line :)

ANYWAY livestream over nice 30 pulls of aventurine funds for anni!!!! they didnt do anything insane but honestly it was kinda cope to expect them to, ratio for free was clearly a more of a spontaneous move and hes available throughout anniversary anyway so the "another 5*" were.... a little over the top im sorry wjkjwdjkwdjk altho i wouldnt have complained obviously. a free himeko or sth couldve been on theme for the cosmodussy event but eh cant be helped

im actually glad for the skippability of the reruns 😭😭 like i have luocha n jingliu (+ LC for latter) so by skipping acheron for now im gonna have a nice time getting aventurine and most likely his LC (2/3 of his 4* LC selection is so sad tho), love that fucker hope he gets to do proper mayhem in story too. cool death talk please dont actually die yourself for real for real tho i will be sad. like i do think its based of aventurine to pull off a stunt that appears to be what we in the business might call a certified chapter 5 komaeda moment but. ahahaha nooo dont actually die youre such a funny hat man .

leakers public shaming session was definitely a jumpscare but i do genuinely empathize w shaoji on that one. like. ive always been one for kit + banner leaks first and foremost and story leaks just. i dont care for them much. ive had my share of looking at them occasionally but i definitely agree with the way story leaks either by themselves or when misconstrued and misinterpreted really fucking mess with the intended experience for any given story and how that must feel like shit for the writers. like if story leaks stopped happening altogether id be perfectly content. and thats just ppl who look at story leaks on purpose cuz. im not going to even begin w how like. yes the leaks subreddits and most big leakers do spoiler warnings and keep the story stuff spoilered. but then theres literally the entire rest of the internet where shit gets spread untagged and without warnings the second they are posted anywhere at all and how that fucking ruins peoples experiences. like its 1 thing to click at a spoiler tagged post knowingly and get ur experience messed up with. but when u dont even want to see it its rly fucking bad and i v well understand condemning all story leaks (even those properly flagged) just on that basis alone. but yeah actually felt bad for him there and see where he was coming from for sure, even as a consumer of leaks

Anyway. biggest priority is holding strong w skipping acheron as sick as her animations are but def looking forward to her teaser and the animated short. like . even with the black swan dykery. (that was a fucking jumpscare too). i dont need her rn. despite how cool she is 😭😭

& also have to say im v happy they clarified their stance on hi3rd references like. the way theyre going abt it is absolutely how it should be going. hsr by nature is more directly linked to hi3rd like honkai is in the name but its such a dumbass idea (like some fan takes out there....) to want the stories of hsr depend on another games lore. rewarding old fans with easter eggs and tidbits is perfectly fine and im even interested in seeing where they go with acherons obvious raiden situation - especially knowing theyre not about to ruin their own story with "it was hi3rd all along!" (not that i ever rly thought theyd seriously blunder that bad lmao 💀) . so yea thats neat

i think story wise im not gonna say much of my thoughts bc unfortunately i have clicked on like. a leak or four. not the major stuff i dont think but enough that commenting on stuff w some of the things im aware of in the periphery is going to tint stuff . but im still excited to see where things go!!!

AAND OH. ACTUALLY i do have one more thing . so the multiple POV thing being actually implemented is SOOOO good im so fucking happy theyre committing to it being a thing 😭😭😭 like SO many story pitfalls can be avoided by just letting it be that TB doesnt need to be fucking everywhere a major thing happens as the centerpiece of events so we as players can see it. like it gives a way of showing different events and sides of characters in a much more natural manner its sooo good that theyre implementing it already. like this alone has me in such high hopes for the story going forward. like yea theyve branched from our POV before already and in penacony as well but expanding on it even more is 100% the correct way forward

Another sip of the awful tasting drink, a glower affixed to his face before the man that had all but forced him to come out like this eventually came back from another round of Beer Pong. Frustrating, to say the least...being around so many others like this was entirely foreign to him but Ignis was quite a personality and even if it wasn't Naoto who was inclined towards these things. There was a certain motivation in the other all but forcing him to come out of his shell...just as well. He downed half the shitty plastic cup, wincing and making a face as companion brought him another without asking. ' Having fun? ' he beamed, as if the alcohol had no effect on him whatsoever. ' Not even a little. ' a huff, deadpan, before turning his gaze away. Was it the beer making him feel warm? Flush? Who knew. In an attempt to wash the anxiety of it away, he downed the other plastic cup in a couple gulps, regardless of what a lightweight he happened to be.

now that the boy didn't hate him, went out with him every now and then even, shared a little smooch or two, mostly just as means to tease, ignis was happy when he'd finally agreed to come along with him to one of the parties held in their apartment complex.

and he knew the other hated that, even if his feelings towards the officer-to-be himself turned more amicable by now. some had teased the ravenette for ' oh the goblin had finally crawled out of his cave ' and the like, as he'd earned something of a recluse, a ghost kind of reputation around the place. the same kind of people that then also praised ignis for even achieving as much.

it was oddly satisfying to see the other down the alcohol like that— almost as if desperate to get drunk, like it'd make dealing with this easier. and it might. ignis had picked up his own cup that he'd left at the table for time that he was off playing, swirling it a little in his hand and offering it to the shorter, " you're just slurping that shit right up. want mine, too? i'm actually not a huge beer fan, " he confessed with a light shrug; if at least the people had bothered to get something of better quality, but who was to judge a handful of poor college boys? but it was part of the reason that he often looked barely drunk at these gatherings; rarely drinking any of this watered-down foam beyond the first few sips.
