The fire wasn't large, in the worst case scenario the floor on which the fire was would need to be relocated for the night but everything was under control for now and the fire was nearly out.

Fingers dance idly along the device, rubbing his thumb over the touch screen as color danced across his features. It was...well, it was somewhat embarrassing if the avian was being honest but at the same time he felt a swell of pride and confidence in the gesture. ' Hey... ' a soft hum, trailing off as head tilted while sapphires rested on husband's frame. Surely he wasn't interrupting something? He hoped not, sitting next to the other upon couch and scooting closer before leaning against his arm. ' I...I made something. For you. Us...mostly you. ' he nodded, biting down hard on lower lip. From stone cold indifferent assassin to embarrassed husband in the span of moments, he offered the other the device in his hand while connecting it to the Bluetooth speakers in their house. ' It's...it's a playlist. I mean it's not like. Anything creative or unique...or special. Nothing like that, but...just. Stuff...that reminds me of you. And us. ' he nodded, pressing play on it for music to begin on Shuffle. Initial musical offering was slow, but intimate, and the avian stood with darkening features yet still. ' Will...you dance with me? To it? ' an offered hand, finally meeting gaze.

entertainment was provided by a simple trivia show; something that ran on the tv every evening. husbands presence however, was welcome, and the canine quickly turned the volume down and turned his eyes towards the avian. an arm was thrown around his narrow shoulders to pull him closer, while the mobile phone in his hands went entirely ignored— it was rather common occurance after all.

" hi, " simple greeting was returned and then further accentuated with a kiss to forehead. " is something the matter? " he wasn't entirely ignorant to his mate's body language; it was often the primary way for the hound to actually decipher anything at all about the other. part of him believed naoto wouldn't say anything; admit to it at best, but not want to actually talk about it.

to hear that he'd made something for him— them —had the canid perking up with brows raised, whereas eyes tipped downwards to find mate's own. " yeah? what is it? " naturally, first expectations were some silly invention again— something technological in one way or another... the only thing that made ignis doubt was the fact that the bird didn't sound very confident about it— it was so unlike him.

a frown was adopted upon his features when the phone was pushed into his hands— immediatelly he wanted to complain about this not being the best idea, and that he had no clue how to operate this thing. naoto keeping his fingers on the touch screen and navigating through a couple menus kept him quiet, before he was turning his head in the direction of the sound playing. a playlist.

" that's already unique and special. and thoughtful, " especially with the emphasis on thoughtful, did he grab lover's face and pull him in for a proper kiss— he could only guess what other songs would be included after this one, something so slow that did not sound like the falcon's usual style. he didn't want to let him go even afterwards, thinking that'd be that, resisting the slight pull that the bird was exerting. a question about as much sat at the tip of his tongue, failing to be voiced and only expressed through the faint confusion in his expression once naoto did stand up.

it was his turn to blush, it seemed. considerably less noticeable than the flush staining pale cheeks, but there nonetheless. " oh... " it was soft, barely audible, even to his own ears. he could still swear that he could count the times he and naoto had shared a dance on the fingers of one hand, and so it remained... something sacred. all things considering. a smile tugged at his lips, happily accepting the offered hand, and standing. " yes. gladly so. "

-> They try to smooth themselves out by repeating the mantra that he's just one of those types. If they take what he says too seriously they'll be winding themselves up for nothing. Instead, their glare slides from him to the bar, pondering an opening.

"No thanks. I'm working and I don't feel like knocking down even more egos tonight."

-> He's so open to it they already know they've minced the logic; it's annoying, as is his easy-going, flirtatious behavior, but Lyric just shifts the tray on their hand a little with their fingertips and huffs.

"Don't cause trouble."

-> They almost feel they should walk backwards away from him, but they would almost definitely trip and look ridiculous, so they have to just turn around and not stew over what will certainly be his stare at the open skin of their back. Lyric trades bottle service with a girl wearing dog ears and a bouncing tail to go to the bar where they flick their cigarette butt into the trash. One cocktail isn't that hard to make, and he seems like a type that drinks like he speaks: profusely. They make it a double. Lyric has an easier time covering ground on the floor than some of the other waitstaff because of their kitten heels---if they went any taller they'd wipe out all the time, but as it was they can keep a careful balance even with trays as long as they're not sprinting. Lyric sets a nick and nora glass with a hazy yellow-gray mix and a lemon peel twist in front of Jaeger.

"Silver bullet. Dry gin, Kummel liqueur, lemon juice. A pinch of blessed salt."

--- ' Well, it's a pretty good lead...I could show you. ' chin rests on palm, easygoing expression never leaving despite the obvious disdain they have graced him with. Time and time again. Hues flick to the cigarette, brow lofting before he considers the option provided. ' Silver? Sounds exciting. I'll take it. ' he teases, knowing perfectly well they've got the wrong animal.
