it is my feeling that true detective season 1 could've been improved with the addition of a dance montage and I don't mean like the scene at the longhorn in 1.03 it should've been completely gratuitous and served no importance to plot events. Something that I throughly enjoy about the back to the future trilogy is the visual storytelling and characterization.

Like not only things set up with an especific purpose but they pay off so well if you pay attention, like obvs 2 and 3 have better continuity since they were planned together (originally there was only gonna be first movie)

But overall every bit of info serves to flesh out the characters or progress the story. Such as outfits or scenary.

Perhaps it's cuz we see him evolve during 3 movies but I believe Marty is one of the most fleshed out protagonists out there. Why?

What we know about Marty is that he is a teen, especifically an 80's teen archetype initially.

Unbothered by bigger concecuences, lives on the now, all he cares abt is his gf, his music and hanging out with this cool science dude that he probably met by chance bc wow! Science!!

His character arc in the first movie is to learn and grow from his parent's mistakes, to take ahead the what ifs with no fear of rejection or worst case scenario.

The second arc is one of big importance since in the second movie he slowly has to realize just how bad things can get if you mess up the timeline, he was SO CLOSE to mess up everything and he knew it. It was terrifying but necessary so he could understand that yeah... actions have concecuences.

The third one is definately my personal favorite, since the first movie we get the idea that Marty has a set idea of what a man is and has no problems throwing hands.

But this also can get him in trouble, the whole movie he has to connect the idea of the HUGE trouble he went through to fix his mistakes and acting without thinking out of pride like he usually does.

We can see this in the way he keeps egging the doc on just going back to the future and to the status quo.

Imo this is not only bc well, he'd miss the doc but also cuz he is now very aware of what could happen and he is scared and just needs everything to be okay.

The culmination of all of this is his decition to not risk his neck into a gun duel with the wild dog and actually just do what he has to.

This is reinforced with him refusing to race needles at the end, he never knew about his accident, Jennifer did.

So he actively refusing to act on impulse is all on him, based on the things he learned and experienced.

Not only all of this but also, he as a lot of lil quirks, he likes hard rock, doesn't fully understand science yet likes what the doc can do, he randomly befriended the local mad scientist, likes si-fi movies (Darkvader/Vulcan reference), is SASSY veryyyy very sassy and sarcastic, can throw good hands, can be prideful and very stubborn, good at skating too, doesn't like sugary things much, plays videogames etc.

He's sorta geeky for the 80's standars yet very extroverted and jockey, but best of all? He is LIKEABLE he is charming and adorable, also a bit of a romantic, he absolutely adores Jennifer. That sometimes can be so hard to do with a character let alone a protagonist.

He is just a little guy, a neat little guy :D

Roy & Joy - Their relationship was kind of strained after PL1 due to Joy being too busy to help him with the Pizzeria but they eventually became the besties they used to be yet again. Joy does the cooking, Roy delivers.

Marty & Rita - They didn't often talk with one another but were relatively good-ish. After PL2 they grew as besties and talk a lot more. They swap between cooking and serving often.

Mitch & Maggie - Exes on awful terms, they don't hate each other and hold no ill will but the cascade leading to their breakup was really emotionally damaging. They can exist in the same room with one another just fine, but they refuse to talk to each other. Mitch cooks, Maggie serves.

Alberto & Penny - They're so fluffy with one another and it's so much sweeter than the sundaes at the Freezeria that it could probably make you sick! They also swap restaurant roles on occasion but not as often. (Penny usually is behind the counter)

Cooper & Prudence - They text more often than they actually interact in the Pancakeria because otherwise they'd be rambling too much to work. But they're besties with a love for their animals :] They're usually both cooking but Prudence handles delivery when needed.

Taylor & Peggy - They work at separate locations (HC two different Hot Doggerias) they have never actually spoken. Whoops :P but they are both cheffing doing chef shit.

James & Willow - James very rarely actually shows up and doesn't even really do too much other than being bored. Willow does just about everything but business is slow enough for her to not care enough.

Rudy & Scarlett - Rowdy as hell and it kind of made locals uncomfy because they were very outward about their adoration of one another. And by were I mean cause they no longer work at the Cheeseria! When they got their instruments back they just quit but the restaurant still exists since replacements were found.

Timm & Cecilia - I don't actually have much to say here cause promotional stuff has said it all for me.

Carlo & Koilee - OH BOY these bitches fucking hate each other! Kismesis goals but they hadn't enough respect for one another to say that. Kinda sad how people really liked watching them argue and Koilee did feel really bad about unknowingly making Carlo way more stressed than he already was (and never seeing him again so it's not like she could apologize or anything). Doesn't make her hate him any less, though. Koilee is the chef but before Carlo quit she was the server.

Allan & Akari - Moiraillegiance of all time. They were already really good friends long before the Mocharia and became even better friends while they were there. Allan quit due to heavy stress regarding this and his hockey career alongside like. BEING IN A FILM. but a replacement chef was found who works alongside Akari (who's obv delivery).

Wylan & Olivia - VERY chaotic best friends and how they pulled off whatever the fuck they did in Cluckeria remains a mystery as well as who does what. They dink off way more than they actually work help-

uhh that wasn't actually my tag BUT in terms of starter classic country songs with narratives you can't really go wrong with dolly parton and jonny cash. I'd particularly recommend "Jolene", "Hushabye Hard Times" (not as narrative, but RULES) "Ghost Riders in the Sky" and "Folsom Prison Blues". For individual songs, “Big Iron” by Marty Robbins,  "Goodbye Earl" by the Chicks is absolutely MANDATORY listening, and in the same vein (aka murder songs) there's also "Two Black Cadillacs" by Carrie Underwood and "Maneater" by Blue Eyed Blondes (which are more contemporary but still scratch a similar itch)

It's terms of classic narrative songs that are more..country adjacent? the song that actually inspired the original post was "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" by Jim Croce (also listen to "Don't Mess Around With Jim" by the same guy he really be writtin about some Dudes huh). fun facts about Cash that i’m thinking about to distract myself from writing fic(bc i am a menace to myself):

-Cash works as a drug and alcohol runner to a lot of different companies and organizations in the MK universe, including the Black Dragon.

-she gives literally everyone she meets a nickname. Kabal is “Kabobble”, Erron is “Fellow Yeehaw”(since theyre both into cowboy shit) or “Old Man” once she learns how old he really is, Kano is either “Bossman” if she’s trying to stay on his good side or “Pissboy” if not.

-she is not related to Erron at all, even though they both have the surname Black and dress in cowboy hats. most of the BD base either doesn’t believe them when they tell people this, or assume they’re fucking(they’re definitely not lmao, Cash is bi but mostly into women)

-Cash has a big mouth and loves to be goofy and talkative. she punctuates almost every doofy thought she has with awkward finger guns. she’s very much a “class clown” type of person. she just likes to shoot shit and make people laugh.

-she has good luck powers(like Domino but way dumber in execution). she’s never been able to tangibly prove it, since how the fuck do you measure luck? but her adoptive dad(Pops Black, she calls him) called her “his good luck charm” growing up, and one time while on a drug bender in the desert she was approached by a random very shiny woman and told she was “an avatar of good fortune”. she still has no idea if that actually happened or not.

-She’s done a few scavenging runs for Kano on the side, finding rare and valuable artifacts in hard to reach places. she always found more than she came for, bc of the whole good luck thing. as a result he’s tried to recruit her into the Black Dragon by force a few times, but she always manages to both escape and cause problems for him at the same time inadvertently. after the third time, which actually caused damage to the Black Dragon compound, he decided to stop trying and just let her work freelance before something really expensive got destroyed.

-Cash LOVES music. it’s her favorite thing in the whole world, even more than booze and other fun chemicals. she’s a huge fan of old country music(Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn etc), but also loves funk, blues, grunge, and desert rock. Queens of the Stone Age are her favorite modern band. she can play multiple different instruments, including the harmonica, both acoustic and electric guitar, and bass. she’s trying to learn banjo and piano at the moment. she’ll occasionally bring a beat-up old guitar or cheap keyboard on her visits to the BD compound and play some music for anyone who wants to listen. since it’s usually old country covers, it’s usually just Erron listening.

-the first time she met Erron, she managed to fleece a good amount of money from him playing blackjack, since she didn’t tell him about her luck powers. he was not happy when he found out. she managed to smooth things over by bringing him some really nice Outworld whiskey next time she delivered to the BD compound. he still plays card games with her but refuses to bet actual money, instead just using beer bottle caps(Cash collects them). he has yet to actually win a game against her.

-loves to dance. cannot dance at all. it’s like watching a drunk suburban dad at a summer backyard party: all elbows and shoulders. she still does it anyways, bc dancing is fun, and she likes to do dumb shit that makes other people laugh, even if it’s at her expense. ironically enough, she’s much more coordinated on stage with an instrument in her hand.

-literally always has a cigarette in her hand. during the daytime she’s got coffee on her at all times; at night, it’s a bottle or flask of some kind of alcohol(usually tequila, whiskey, or beer). she and Kano constantly make fun of each others’ choices in beer(when they’re not pissed at each other anyways).

-was raised by a part-time cattle rancher, part-time hired gun out in the Mojave desert, and thus has little idea about modern pop culture. she hasn’t seen most movies or tv shows.

-she almost starved to death as a child before her Pops found her. as a result, she is not a picky eater whatsoever, and will eat just about anything, no matter how gross it is. the only thing she dislikes even a little is anything well-done when it doesn’t have to be(ie well-done steaks, eggs with no runny yolk, etc), but she’ll still eat it. in fact. she has terrible eating habits. people are very confused how she stays so stick-thin when her primary diet is shitty gas station coffee and donuts, and she just shrugs and tells them she takes her gummy vitamins every day(she doesn’t.)

-occasionally she’ll just fuck off into the desert for a few days on a drug-fueled bender. if she had her way, she’d live out in a tent on her own in the middle of the Mojave.

skam thoughts

hi ok i’m bored n sick so i’m here to give my (maybe unpopular? idk) thoughts on skam + remakes. i have seen most* remakes, but i’ll mention if i have not seen a particular season or not

first off: basic opinions (favorite remakes, favorite characters, etc)

fav jonas/eva remake:

- skam nl (kes/isa) - isa is, in my opinion, the most relatable eva remake. she’s so sassy and lovable! in general i’m not the biggest fan of the season 1 plot, but i think all jonas/eva pairings, chemistry wise, have been phenomenal. isa/kes are just a little bit more impressive in my opinion.

fav noorhelm remake

- this will be of no shock, as this is quite a popular opinion, but wtfock (senne and zoë). most william remakes kind of suck, and the general character dynamic between noora and william is not something i like. i enjoy the plot but a lot of williams are just...ew. i’m interesting in skam españa interpretation (nora and alejandro) but i can’t fully judge their season until it’s over. zoë is such a wonderful character and senne is actually not a dick! i sobbed when they broke up in s3.

fav evak remake

- i’m tied. either skam france/wtfock. i love the (for some reason controversial) dynamic between sander and robbe. i also love elu, like the basic bitch i am. elliott demaury OWNS me.

fav youssana remake

- honestly, i kind of didn’t like any of them (that are released). there’s only two out there, druck and skam france, and i didn’t like any. i’m sorrryyyy i just love sana bakkoush and no one could ever be better than her. oof! disclaimer i have not watched all of amira’s season/druck s4. i wasn’t personally interested but the acting was phenomenal.

SKAM, the original, the og, love of my life, scandi legend that started this obsession

- honestly one of the best teen shows i’ve ever seen. the development of characters is so prominent. the acting, for mostly amateur teenagers, is mind blowing. maybe american shows just suck? but i’m absolutely in love with every character. they show such realistic stories and i applaud the skam team + actors for portraying their stories so well.

- the one comment i have is the noorhelm relationship. i just? i don’t like it. when i first watched skam i loved it. noora was hilarious (still think that) and the perfect independent woman model. i also liked william. i just wished they showed more of his vulnerability because his kind of static character is not doing it for me. he doesn’t show any evolution or change. idk, he’s still a wet fish in my eyes. obv this has no shade to the actors, thomas hayes is lovely. his character? not so much. i could write a whole essay on how flawed and dislikable william is.

now, the first remake: skam france

skam france, oui oui baguettes this remake really tickles my fancy

- as someone who kind of understands french, i really do like this remake. i have some issues with s1 and s2 but overall it is a solid remake. being the first, it makes sense for the seasons to seems little unoriginal. i still love emma and manon but their characters aren’t very authentic.

- s3 is where they really nailed it. elu’s immense popularity is only a testament to how truly wonderful the season is. the acting, the characters, slight changes in plot. i loved it. a lot.

- i wasnt impressed by s4 but it might just be my extreme love for iman meskini. no one could ever replace her.

- BUT S5. OH BOY. ROBIN. MY BABY. he is such a good actor and i love arthur he MUST be protected! i love that his shame is not romantically related. also as someone who is interested in deaf culture wow! i’m impressed by the research done by skam france. not only is his the first original season but it is excellently executed. noee is my mother i love her.

druck, likely the most liked remake to which i do not disagree with that statement

- druck is legendary. i really appreciate the small changes in plot and character dynamics that create an identity for each remake and druck is so so good at doing that. mia’s season is lovely and so is matteo’s, as well as the other two. i did not finish amira’s season as wtfock s3 started and i was a little too invested in that haha but i liked what i saw. the mia/noora drama annoyed me but it was okay. i saw it in the way how we all beg for evak/elu/nicotino/etc content in later seasons but then complain when noorhelm/jonas and eva content occur in later seasons, which is weird at best or just fetishization of gay couples at worst. take ur pick. i like it when previous plot lines kind of intertwine into the current ones as it shows that people’s shakes are not temporary and have immense effects on others (which is the point of skam, right?

skam italia, the controversial remake that said bye and then uno-reversed itself (thanks netflix)

- a lot of people don’t like skam italia. it’s understandable, as the actress for sana is not a woc or muslim. however, it is slightly understandable (but not defendable, i was way too disappointed when i found this out) given italy and it’s cultural background. it astonished me that they could even produce an isak remake due to their pretty strong religious beliefs. italy is very much roman catholic, and gay marriage isn’t even legal there (this is the only skam where gay marriage is not legalized). so i give them major props to facing potential backlash in producing s2/marti’s season. it makes sense for there to not be a muslim/woc actress because of the demographics in italy. ww1 and ww2 really spun a number on italy’s race, as many jews and romas as well as pretty much any non-italian ethnicity were kicked out. this creates barriers especially when it comes to hiring a woc actress. skam italia is already breaking barriers when it came to controversial topics (literally all of skam would be controversial in italy’s alt-right view, it seems). tl;dr: kudos for being able to produce a pro-gay show but shame for not being able to hire a woc actess.

- i loved marti’s season as was a fan of the other two seasons. they’re well produced and beautiful and more dramatic than the other skams imo! the soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous.

skam austin, the american cousin no one seems to like that really lives up to the american stereotype

- ok. when i first saw austin/the fact that they made an american remake, i hated it. disgusting. i hâte america as it is. it was cringey, the acting was bad (i’m sorry i’m sorry), and it got rid of the charm that skam had.

- when i watched it a second time around, i changed my mind. i think grace’s season redeemed it a lil bit. it’s living proof that skam remakes must be watched twice or more to fully formulate an opinion. it’s still cringey but i mean, it’s very accurate to american culture. i’m ashamed to say that i, an american, have said many phrases that austin has used.

- skam austin isn’t THAT bad as people make it out to be. i think americans esp are uncomfortable with a skam from their own culture, myself included. and it’s fine to not vibe with it and prefer other skam remakes. i think the actors are okay, better when i saw it the second time, and the editing/music/videography is beautiful (ofc julie andem is a part of it). people give it crap for being american.

skam nl, may she rest in peace or pull an italia and 180 us

- man i was so depressed when i heard that lucas vdh was not getting his season. lucas is downright one of my favorite isak remakes and his story would’ve been so interesting.

- besides that, skam italia has one of the best eva seasons. it is my favorite and is usually a lot of others favorites as well. isa is just so relatable. liv’s season is also incredibly well produced. i didn’t hate noah! it was a miracle come true. he redeemed the william character if only for one remake.

- my one comment/critic isn’t even that serious. it’s just? dutch? it sounds so...weird. i’m a stupid american but i cracked up at things that were definitely NOT jokes because of the language. i’m sorry netherlands/holland i do not mean to laugh.

skam españa, also controversial for good reasons but also conflictingly good

- alright folks. i am confused with skam españa. i don’t know if i love it or like it.

- hear me out. we all know of the controversy with the panphobic comment that nora made. it was stupid and uncalled for and really disrespected the whole pan community of viewers. now, not many people are pan but for a show where an original character (even bech næsheim, love of my life) is canonically pan? it was kind of a slap to the face.

- besides the comment i loved cris’ season. it was refreshing to get an isak season where it was a she, one, and where isak was not living with his eskild but instead had a family. it was also beautifully shot and i love irene with my entire heart.

- that said, i liked eva’s season. nora’s season is interesting. maybe it’s because it’s the first i’ve watched multiple seasons live (españa and france) and have no attention span and is more interested in skam france s5? idk. the clips aren’t really doing it for me. i love the viri clips but the nora clips are eh. she just seems very...in genuine? idk. i also hate miquel get his ugly ass out of here. i can’t fully analyze the season until it’s over but i’m not really interested in it. i also don’t like the noorhelm plot or dynamic at all so that may be it.

wtfock, or another controversial remake that imo shouldn’t be controversial

- wow. i love wtfock. s1 was rocky and i wasn’t sure of how it would be. s2 SLAPPED ME THRU THE ROOF. god i love senne de smet so much. zoë is actually redeemable??? and oh my god milan is my favorite eskild like please adopt me.

- season 3 was the first one i watched live. i arrived to the skam scene late so i didn’t get to experience march madness aka 5 live skams at once and i wish i did. but wow. willem ds and willem h really are one of the main reasons why wtfock s3 did so well. they’re amazing actors with incredibly chemistry.

- the controversy that imo should be controversy: the gay bashing scene. i was surprised at the backlash. people were upset over the fact that they showed such...intense events without immediate remediation. it’s understandable to be mad but? they were criticizing things that had no correlation with the scene, like the willems’ acting or the music picked. it was very wild. they also did a lot of bitching about how lgbt people should see gay bashing because it’ll bring back bad memories and that skam was for the gays only and should cater for only lgbt people. which i heavily disagree with. 1) gay bashing in media is so prevalent and downright important. things can’t be fluffy gay all the time. this happens in real life and does such a great complement to noor’s comment about how no one cares that robbe is gay because it’s 2019. THAT. IS. SO. IMPORTANT. it’s so so important to realize that despite the strides made for lgbt people, gay bashing and violent homophobia. still. exist. also. i would like to direct you to these examples of gay bashing where no one blinked an eye : queer as folk, where s1 justin gets bashed in at his prom and has difficulties drawing; s2 (i think? may be s1) skam españa where lucas rubio gets bashed; skam s4 where even and isak encounter a homophobic dick; these examples are endless. the one thing that miffed me the most was that many critics acted as if they were forced to watch wtfock and therefore criticize its every move. like no? you have a choice? no one is forcing you. quite the opposite! wtfock is geoblocked! you’re actually forcing yourself because you’re taking the time to find illicit resources in order to watch it! alright man i’m done with this rant. many also criticized the writing of the show. it was shaky but watching it a 2nd time, where all clips were released, was so much better when it came to clarity. many ‘poor writing choices’ made sense in the larger picture. again another example that you should watch skam remakes twice to understand the big picture.

- tl;dr wtfock is lovely and should not be criticized for one wrong move.

I have just finished Sana's season for skam italia, and honestly despite my hesitations it delivered, and it made me remember how much i love eva, eleonora, martino, gio, filippo and elia, but it also gave me a new love for Sana (obvs) as I felt like this season really fleshed her character out a lot more, and I think we really got to know her as a character, which I hadn't felt as much with the previous Sana seasons...I think also it gave more of a character to Niccoló which I liked as 1/?

as well because I felt like maybe they gave his past storyline justice, it made much more sense in how they wrote what happened etc. I think it was also interesting how they made Martino the jealous type, I'm not sure if that extends from his insecurity? Or similar? But one thing I do see here and wholeheartedly agree is how they're praising the season since it still tells the sideplots without giving Sana's storyline away. 2/2

Especially the part about the characters! Seeing them all together, everybody caring about each other so much (like Filippo’s home being the refuge or how much Marti and Sana helped each other even in their lowest or even Gio proposing going to Bracciano so the girls could make up)...it just gave me a new found love for them! And Sana too! I agree I didn’t feel like I knew her before and now I do. I understand her and she has her distinct characteristics, she feels more like a character.

And the part about Nicco yes yes! I liked how his past was handled (better than og) I liked that him and Luai had a relationship and it was actually something good for them at that point in their lives. It just felt like it added more depth to Nicco. And as for Marti I guess it can be explained by his insecurities, coming from his family and how they started their relationship. And also he is in high school, he is young jealousy is pretty understandable.

And about the last part I think especially that’s why this season is praised so much too! The original and the other remakes so far have made s4 about others. Of course there are sideplots because the people around the main continue living their lives too but in other remakes it always took away from the Sana characters. Here, whatever drama, whatever subplot there was Sana was a part of it. She was involved, she took away lessons, sideplots were thrown in by little lines etc. They wanted to make Gio and Eva endgame? Two jealous looks were enough for us viewers to understand. They broke up Marti and Nicco? Us hearing Luai’s story added a lot to the theme of the season. On the one hand we have people trying to cure Luai using religion and on the other hand we have Sana’s parents etc. making Luai come back. And that breakup lead to, Sana being there for Marti, Marti being there for Sana so in the end it was about Sana as well.

So in short yes I agree with this all!

i have the same reaction to being told by a man to relax as marty does to being called a chicken. my brother exited out of the movie i had paused on netflix because i was in the bathroom, and i told him to put it back on and he told me to relax and then i just felt so irrationally angry that i started yelling at him over fucking madagascar 2 until he left the room. Like i couldnt even think straight i was just yelling “dont tell me to relax” because i couldnt verbalize that him (and other men) telling me to relax (i wasnt even worked up in the first place i was just annoyed obv tho i did get worked up afterwards) just invalidates any upset or anger that i felt, and i know that he also meant it to invalidate me because he sure wasnt saying it because he actually cared about my emotional well being in the moment. i definitely blew it out of the water because it was just a movie but he’s always doing casually sexist shit like that

Letting it all fall.

So for a quite sometime Skam It fandom was my happy place: people sharing their opinions that wasn’t far from my own, which is almost always admiring Edo’s softness. (And I’m not saying that happy place for me should include only similar opinions, the opposite tbh). But this Ele’s right or wrong situation and every say about it punches me right in the stomach. 

I’ve never thought I'll relate so strong to the character based on the characteristics everyone criticise. Like I do really understand her, her motivation, her emotional state and where she’s coming from. I see flaws in it and I’m not trying to defend them (as it may seem in one of my last posts). I just accept her. And I’m sick of people telling that writers should have done more worked through job to not worsen the original character. Sick of people telling what a horrible person Ele is, that she’s hypocrite and doesn’t actually stand for anything, that she’s too passive in this season and so on. And maybe I take those comments too personally, ‘cause they make me feel like I’m awful for understanding her and relating to her. But real people aren’t perfect, I’m not perfect. And it’s exhausting trying to be one. It’s exhausting trying to justify your every move in order to be liked. I read this one insight that Ele is so critical about her mother for not being able to listen and instead she’s doing exactly the same thing with Edo. “She’s so like her mother. Only bringing up child’s problems about Edo’s brother when her mother did the same with her eating disoder, like this is the ultimate cause of all of his/her problems”. Most probably it is true, she does act like her mother, but so what? Am I the only one who can feel for character bacause of his/her flaws? Even when these flaws aren’t redeemable as Edo’s lying in order to protect. Am I the only one who cares that Ele was tought to act that way, that she sees the need to protect herself like this?

Have you ever thought that every main character of every season did some terrible shit, Eva with cheating and lying to her new friends, Martino with having problems with being open and making some girl fell for him, and we all know what Sana will do. This show is about change, actual characters who are certain people at the begining and completely different in the end. Ele’s story isn’t about her love or assult or anything else, it’s about her. Skam It for once made a very flawed character for Noora, who’s still figuring herself out. And writers make a hell of a job portraing more controversial conflict on violence which will in the end actually  make Noora’s character accept different views, about what she’s talking in every remake. Writers also doing a good job bringing Ele’s mom into this, her trust issues (I must say that Skam NL also kinda great at this), her being closed off and judgy, you can see it with Eva choosing to hang out with a boy and Ele’s feeling betrayed and alone again because of her own ideals and views. I read a theory about how Skam It uses color to represent each character, like Nico’s color is red, obv, and Marti’s is blue, Eva’s orange that represents forgivness. So Ele’s color is purple. The color of feminism, but also the color of people who are too closed off. Ele’s need for a way out is a need I understand most of all. I understand how unimaginably irrational this need is, it’s just always here with you trying to protect yourself at all cost, just hiding, paralyzed, letting other people to decide, letting it all fall. I mean the last scene and Ele’s reaction to the Edo’s words shows it all.

I guess, I just want to say that being flawed and figuring it all out is a beautiful thing. This is why I liked original Eva so much, why I felt close to her. Skam It gave me a huge gift with Ele. I’m not saying give her a chance, because she’s already perfect just being her, living her life, making her mistakes. And even if now she would be to decide not to change and not to trust it would just mean that she’s not ready yet. (However we all know she is).

But you just judge, never actually listen.
