ok the issue for me when gabriel dies (assuming he does.  lmao).  is that lila is the only like.  current candidate next!hawkmoth. and like.  lila can be a fun and great villian.  but the thing is.  she lacks the truly compelling motivation needed to carry being like. the main villain.  gabriel is fun because he is easy to hate, but also you totally see where he’s coming from, and he has a badbackstory and makes the wrong choices, but you understand why. he has an extremely compelling motivation to explain his actions.  he’s motivated by his wife, his memories of her, his son, and nathalie.  he wars against these things constantly and you see it pressure him and it’s fun.

felix has potential as a rising villain for his own conflicts and reasons for being who he is, it isnt fully revealed to us, but sentimonster theory is basically confirmed, etc. he has a reason and he has weakness and emotions, any cruelty he chooses is understandable and compelling.

lila does not have a compelling backstory or.  reason to do what she is doing.  she likes to be on top and feels insulted by others who disregard her, and she wants to have the world wrapped around her fingers but..she lacks like.  a REASON for that?  she hasn’t lost anything and she just like, doesn’t have any actual source of deep conflict that gabriel, nathalie, felix, or really many of the akumatized victims have.

like i am all for a new hawkmoth.  as much as i love gabriel, i understand his story has to crumble etc.  but if lila is the next holder i will be disappointed, as it will feel lacking and i cant really think of a way to make her compelling the way the other antagonists are.

pidge: trans girl, realized it at age baby and ended up with puberty blockers and HRT as a teenager. shes winning the gender game right up until she has to briefly detransition to sneak back into the garrison. she never does end up going back on estrogen because she ends up kidnapped in a space lion fighting fascists which is sad. she has an awkward relationship to femininity because shes expected to perform it somewhat despite the fact that shes kind of just an awkward nerd girl and it shows in her gender expression. her parents made a big deal of it (in a supportive way, happy and excited, but that veered a bit into "too much" territory regardless) but matt was just like oh little sister? sick. pidge doesnt actually remember her life pre-transition all that much. she was one of those trans toddlers who socially transitioned as soon as she could speak. her brief boymoding-at-the-garrison era was extremely eye-opening to her regarding social dynamics and not in a good way

hunk: trans guy. did the classic "didnt think much about it until puberty" in which he was suddenly seized with that dysphoric malaise. was very businesslike about the whole thing. came out to everyone in rapid succession in very anxious but short conversations. his parents were extremely awkward about it but ultimately supportive. didnt know how to explain it to their extended family. kind of let hunk figure it all out on his own. did pay for hrt and shit though so, trans win? lance was actually one of the last people he told and thats because he was worried about that interaction the least. lance was also extremely awkward about it at first (in that "oh god im sos sorrryyy i didnt mean to slip waaah!!!" kind of way) but pivoted hard into being all like Hunk my Bro my Guy my Buddy and it was really unsubtle but hunk appreciated the sentiment regardless lmao

lance: hes cis sorry. very much the youngest cisgender brother of a bunch of mean (cis) sisters. he was dragged into traditionally "feminine" things as a bonding ritual pretty young, and when he complained of emasculation he was swiftly mocked for being emasculated at all, because "whats so wrong with being like a girl?" which didnt actually help & actually made him really defensive of his more "feminine" habits (because he really does enjoy skincare & taking care of his hair & painting his nails and shit), which only fed into his wider cycle of insecure-and-peacocking-about-it.

keith: i think keiths relationship to gender is somewhat complex because keith is a queer autistic alien boy who literally didn't speak to anyone of the female sex until he was at least nine (when his dad died & his desert isolation childhood era ended). i dont think hes repulsed or confused by women necessarily so much as hes just confused by everyone all the time. i think if he cried too long as a kid his dad would ask him if he was a fuckin queer or if he was gonna man the hell up which certainly did something to his perception of gender but i dont think even he knows what hes supposed to get out of gender. i dont think he cares much about & or thinks about gender very much. i think he finds the general social dynamics of the subject to be vexing in an irritating way and tries not to think about it because it gives him a headache. shiro: hes a cisgender buff gay japanese man which is a whole conversation in and of itself but hes ALSO a soldier who works at a military academy (yknow prior to the alien abduction). i think shiro is very secure in his masculinity but he is also, as many cisgender men are, somewhat infected by the Weird Distance In Intimate Relationships thing. hes private and doesnt feel a need to prove himself but is burdened by how lonely it is trying to connect with other men. shiro shoulder touches keith for the first time and both of them feel a weird jolt. shiro can dedicate 3/4s of his life into bringing keith into the world and mentoring him but he cant say that or acknowledge it or he will die . a fascinating affliction. this is both eased and made tenfold worse after his time as the champion

12 for Harry: what do I think this character is up to post-canon?

Post CC Harry I hope is connecting with albus more and, if they have it, going to wizard therapy lol.

However, if disregarding cc and the epilogue and going from directly postwar, then harry is helping round up death eaters, both because harry wants other people to be safe but also because he isn't entirely sure who he is without Voldemort and being the chosen one. fingers crossed he'll figure it out, go traveling for a bit, quit being an auror and go teach defence at hogwarts.

12 for Lucius: rotting away in the manor, being hated by both the death eaters and the light side, regretting re-joining Voldemort, not because he particularly gives a toss about muggleborns but because of what voldemort and war did to his family. his only confidants, other than his wife and son, are the peacocks.

7 for Lucius: what is my unpopular opinion on this character?

LUCIUS LOVES HIS WIFE AND SON MORE THAN ANYTHING! ESPECIALLY DRACO! (and draco loves him right back)

This is def more common with people who have only seen the films, but a lot of people act as if Lucius was abusive towards him but he was not! Lucius loves Draco so much he gives him everything he wants and spoils him rotten, and in turn Draco idolises him almost to the point of hero-worshipping him. He buys the whole Slytherin quidditch team new brooms, he tries to get the hippogriff that attacked him put down (sidenote: that wasn't rly dracos fault but thats another post), he gets them seats in the ministers box for the quidditch world cup. I don't think he was necessarily a good parent - Lucius allowed Draco to be a bully and he groomed Draco into idolising a violent murdering purist cult, then got himself thrown in prison and couldn't protect Draco from his own naivety when it was his turn to join. (And Voldemort saw how much Lucius loved his precious son and set him up with a suicide mission as punishment).

Draco wanted to be a Death Eater yes, both because he was a blood purist who had no idea of real violence and because he wanted revenge for Lucius' imprisonment. There's a bit near the end of ootp where Draco confronts Harry on getting Lucius arrested, Harry is in full idgaf mode but Draco, instead of formally calling him Father he calls him Dad and I love that bit (forever questioning why draco was essentially an extra in that film) because it shows them more intimately.

And during the battle of hogwarts, Lucius wants to call off the fighting to look for Draco. Lucius and Narcissa are running around through the fighting wandless and defenceless screaming for Draco, drawing attention to themselves, because they love him so much. And remember at this point the Malfoys are all completely fucked - they've got both the order and the death eaters gunning for them now.

Lucius also seems to be the most involved father of the series. James? Dead (rip). Arthur? Can't remember how many kids he has. Remus? Trying to abandon his wife and infant son. Hermione's dad? All I know is that he's a dentist. Seamus? Dad didn't even know his wife was a witch. You know fatherhood in the wizarding world is a sorry state when Lucius Malfoy comes out top.

Awase - his cannon outfit works well with him tbh but I feel like he would unironically wear a full neon orange fit.

Sen - the only thing I can see him wearing is a hoodie and jeans. Not even that honestly, jeans is too much work for him he just spends the whole day in sweat pants and a t shirt lmao

Kamakiri - even before i looked up their casual fits for a previous post I thought Kamakiri would dress the way he does lol.

Kuroiro - his entire wardrobe is just black hoodies and jeans except one outfit which is the most over the top fit you have ever seen. It takes him and 3 hours to get it on but its worth it

Kendo - even her canon outfit I cant see her wearing all that much. I like it but I dont think it really fits her but at the same time I cant think of anything that I think would fit her. Maybe ripped jeans and a turtleneck idkidk

Kodai - i honestly cant see her in anything exsept her skirt and turtleneck combo. It works well for her and her style.

Komori - i honestly thought she would wear cute but simple dresses that ended around her knees or something but her cannon outfit is so much cooler.

Shiozaki - id like to see her in sundresses or something of the sort. Those long ass dresses that are kinda plain and reaches her ankles but theyre pretty anyway. Ykyk.

Shishida - the only thing that he would wear other than his cannon outfit is a full blown tux. I can 100% see him dressing up to go to a fucking mcdonalds. Its just everyday wear to him

Shoda - I cant explain it but I imagined him dressing either like a dad whos in the middle of his mid life crisis or a ceo of a big company. And somehow his canon casual outfit is a mix of the two lmao

Pony - i imagined her in her canon outfit honestly. Not the exact outfit but a crop top and jeans with a few light accessories here and there ykyk

Tsubaraba - ya know those stupid ass t shirts that say dumb shit like 'i have mental Illinois' with Illinois badly photoshopped into a brain. His entire wardrobe is stuff like that

Tetsutetsu - the only thing he wears is t shirts and sweat pants. Jeans if its a special event. He thinks his style is cool so thats all that matters.

Tokage - i really like her cannon outfit and all its all I can see her in honestly. Her style fits her really well.

Manga - i really like the way he dresses cannonly but I cant shake the thought of his entire wardrobe either being hand painted t shirts and hoodies or it all just being tie dye

Honenuki - i honestly have no idea. I have let this ask marinate in my drafts for a couple days and I can not figure out what the hell this dude would wear. Even his cannon outfit I cant really see him wearing. He is a void of any style in my mind and I hate it.

Bondo - his canon casual attire is atrocious but its the only thing i can see him wearing honestly. But id like to see him in one of those massive oversized hoodies and just some jeans honestly.

Monoma - i want him to dress in the most over the top outfits the world has ever seen. I want him to walk out of the dorms looking like a fucking peacock each day (but he makes it work)

Well we are well into Season 5 now. But I will try and summarize everything that happened that was important.

TIME FOR A GALE RECAP!

Season 4

-Luka and Marinette broke up in the first episode, Kagami and Adrien in the second.

-Jagged stone is Juleka and Luka's dad.

-Alya finds out that Marinette is ladybug because Marinette tells her

-Hawkmoth calls himself shadow moth

-The Peacock miraculous is fixed

-Ladybug gets a new form when she uses lucky charm.

-Ladybug can create akuma repealing charms

-Gabriel bottomed for a clown

-Turns out Fu wasnt the worst guardian because Su Han exists

-Chloe has a half-sister named Zoe who is basically her but not evil.

-Zoe becomes the new bee

-Then there is an episode where Gabriel makes all of Paris act risky thanks to an akuma.

-Marinette trying to confess to him but plot interferes

-Felix appears and swaps places with Adrien and finds emilie in the basement

I was born in California, raised angry there and let it out in Tennessee whenever mom saw tour started. I ran away twice and ended up teaching the math class at jt moore bc the teacher didnt want to, the only friend I had was basketball captain (we spoke once, he left me notes every day after, i avoided bc his script wasn't even interestingly terrible, just boringly bad), and the only real friend I had was the after school detention / art teacher (?) whose speech was so slow and thick like how glycerin swirled into underglaze looks. whoever picked me up took me to mcdonalds every day after school to gain some muscle(?) and I slept in a friend of a friends upstairs bedroom so cozy and warm in the winters, she had a plushie robe too, I loved taking showers I took them w the lights off after school, I learned six years later that a woman was murdered in that room and that's how they got that huge of a house so cheap when they did!

my uncle left our dead dogs body in the front seat of the flatbed for 9 extremely frigid days after he passed that winter. Super Bowl Sunday it was snowing and Hersheys body was taken out the day before but the smell of death stains everything and it lingers above its stain, I couldn't inhale but it was super bowl sunday. I had the best turkish apricots of my life that day and into the night. everyone was lit. I don't remember who won I don't care, that house was the only interesting home in Nashville lol. Little bowls of those apricots in every room of the giant party. and mini pickles but I never cared for those so much.

I met a 90 yr old sculptor who was visiting the hosts (her children) that weekend from Taos. Idk how I was related to the hosts. doesn't matter. she matters! she's the only one that matters. She showed me a stone cartoon at the base of the stairs which led to her guest room. she carved it. it resembled a peacock and doughdough bird, only the head of both. and soldered onto a concrete block, that was also a pillow.

somewhere between that moment and the drive home with the dog stained truck is when I decided I was going to taos, so i ran back home to Cali first. the homecoming was profound, i didnt know i had so many friends honestly i forgot and they seemed so distracted when I needed them. i never told them i needed them because I didnt want to freak them out with the explanation. They were there though and they didnt forget, thats still crazy to me. they thought I died I wasn't on Facebook yet and I left my phone with my dad at home. My 13 yr old girl heart got distracted by the reminder of friends and access to the sea and my molding soccer cleats in the garage, so I didnt go to taos till 8 years later. I went to Taos but now im Ny using my hands and melting a bit too much, and next month i’ll be over there letting it gush all the way out again,

brendan is the opposite, trained only in gathering intelligence about rivals, business or otherwise. basically he’s trained to learn the deep shit that the rich don’t want others to know—a spy in his own..brutal way. he’s the reason jess knows who to kill and why to kill them

liam used to be the face that kept all attention off of the opperations if any member of the family became too suspicious at events or interviews or whatever other public thing they attend

he was trained to be the heir to callums ‘throne’ so hes more business, economic, but he knows how to defend himself when it matters dw hes not defenseless.

jess has been assigned dozens of assignments for murders but he refuses to carry out half of them bcs everytime he tries he can only remember his brothers dead corpse staring back at him and he doesn’t want anyone to go through that ever

callum tells him that if he still wants to live in the manor and have a roof over his head he has to murder the son of this inventor bcs he like is in the process of patenting a machine that could threaten the work of the brightwell busines

ofc jess agrees bcs why would he not he doesnt want to be begging—and its not a superiority thing, he just know how hard it is to survive on the streets and knows he cant ask for a job anywhere else bcs the bw company is so well known and he refuses to bring shame to brendan in any way bcs he loves him

anyways the son (thomas) is going to a prestigous school for rich kids, or so says brendan when he was asking around (he was correct)

jess applied, got accepted, and meets Thomas on the train there

they get placed into the same homeroom so its a win in jess’ book on that, he doesnt need to find a way to get close to him

meets the ‘spoilt peacock’ he’s sharing his room with. doesnt like it, but doesnt have a choice. he needs to complete this mission, for his own dignity if nothing else.

spends time w thomas trying to find the best opportunity to murder him but guess what guys? jess ends up actually becoming close with him and they end up becoming very good friends

cue the dread and the promise to himself that he’d rather let thomas live than his father get his hands on him

drama drama family oh yea somehow he finds two new dads. yea thats new for him. trusting? crazy and he fails miserably multiple times at showing he trusts his new family

loving ppl? lmfaoo wtf is thatt..that exists?? well, jess has never experienced it for so long and its new and fragile and god has it always been so hard to be around people? maybe thats why he just refuses to be meet people…

so much simpler to be a husk of a person, there but not present.

he loves them though, and he’d give everything in a nanosecond should it save their lives. (and deep down that’s what scares him the most. that he’s capable of loving so deeply that it can—it will kill him eventually. and he’ll happily die because his family will be safe but gods what it’ll cost him along the way. he can only pray to the saints they take him mercifully, but even then he knows the world could never truly be that kind.)

different anon but ohmigod the nico as seb's stepmom idea is so delicious! it's insane i love it! seb knows that his dad is dating, has even encouraged it, he just didn't imagine that toto would ever date someone like nico, who is so young and beautiful. he also knows that his dad would never introduce him to someone who wasn't serious, which means that things with nico are serious, and seb has absolutely no idea how to handle that. seb alternates between awkwardly trying to bond with nico and just straight up being mean to him because wtf dad. he also definitely refers to nico as toto's child bride at various points

Seb being very excited when Toto says he is dating cos FINALLY he is dating lol. But he is naturally wary of how young Nico is and a bitchy teen at times lol.

Toto introducing Seb to Nico which means it must be serious and Seb is a little upset and definitelt calls Nico a child bride while the peacock omega just keeps his eyes on his food ajd doesnt really dare to say much and feels so bad for upsetting Seb.

Nico maybe even getting up from the table at that first meeting and hiding in the bedroom because altough the Omega is doing better than he was before Toto, he is still so insecure and thinks he might be losing the one relationship thst ever beought him joy over this... pls Seb would be so surprised because at first glance he thought Nico was going to be a spoiled sugar baby just after Toto's money, but he eavesdrop on Toto going to check on Nico, who is trembling and upset and clings to Toto so tight and he knows its more than just nico wanting money.

Thats not to say seb will still snap and grumble, he is 17 its in his blood, but he tries to be more civil about it

Day 13: Friday January 13, 2023 - “He Just Needs Love”

My current hobby: learning all I can about how to have really exceptional Dad days with a busy toddler.  From wake up to bedtime, being mindful every step of the way, stacking one piece at a time.  Audrie wants to put a beautiful spin on it that makes it seem so simple - and maybe thats why she’s such an effective Mom. “play, eat, change diaper, repeat. As for me, Ive got to work a lot harder!  Where I am not a natural, I need to be skillful.  I’ve learned the importance of having a plan, and staying a step ahead, having distractions in my back pocket ready for when things get sideways on me.  Its a big responsibility and I can’t just wing it.  I got him.

Today, after only about 4 hours of sleep, we were up and watching some Bluey.  Until 9am when I had to get on a work call. I got the butter noodles and Signing Time queued up to help me out so I could juggle both. It worked, enough = Win.   I got him down for morning nap after a little struggle - no Mom milk available buddy, going to have to do this right or risk not getting that break at all!  Got the right combo of songs, and toys, and cuddles and he was out at 10:45.   

Time to hustle now.  I figured I had 20 to 60 minutes to be productive and I used it to clean and reset the house...nothing is more helpful to my mental health on these days than that.  Clean slate.  Time to breathe and clean up the chaos. When he wakes up, we’ll have our fresh start.   We’ll have gotten over the biggest hurdle - the “Thursday night / Friday morning tornado.”  Ready to start over.  

At one hour, on the dot, he started quaking from his bed.  I quickly scooped him up, bopped him across the house, and settled into our bed.  I figured Id lay and cuddle him, extend his nap, and take as much bonus rest as we could get.   He laid there with me, drooling on my shoulder, for another 75 minutes.   Big win!!!   Day=shortened.  Win. 

Just after 1 and I had to listen in on another work call - A+++ for whomever invented the bluetooth headset.  I have to imagine it was for working Dads and moments like these as I chased and entertained William all through the house and even outside while multi-tasking....where we both enjoyed how nice and warm that sunny sky felt!

As soon as my call was over, the next step of my plan was ready to go.  Lets go back get outside!    Drove down to the Zoo for our first visit to the giraffes in 2023.  Lots of other people to watch as we made our way around to see the Peacocks, the Rhino, an elephant, meerkats, Lemur, the flamingos, the lion, and even the big bear up close!   William, in his cute little romper, was happy to say hello and wave at everyone.  Happy boy.  Daddy was doing good work.   And I was ready for my reward.  Zoo Fries.  Yum!  Win for us both!

Great time to facetime in with Mama (who was settled into New York City for the rest of the day) - check in time=check.   Good for mama’s heart to see her happy baby boy mow down some ketchup and ice.   But this is where my planning was important.  Knowing he had that late nap, I knew Id need to do more to run out some energy and not just drive home.  So we walked Reid Park, and saw the ducks, visited a playground (he had little interest today). I could see the ball fields were busy and William noticed to.   All week, William has been pretty obsessed with his baseball and we wondered if he connected his “baseball” (a special one from Cooperstown) with the sport he hasn’t seen on TV for a few months....and then he answered it as he stood in his stroller, pointed at the fields off in the distance - “baseball!” I guess he does know.   So we wandered around the outfield fence trying to learn the way to the diamonds next to Hi Corbett Field where the UofA plays.  Covered some ground together finding our way around this place.  Should be spending more time here! What awesome soft green grass!  We found our way in, under a beautiful sunsetty sky and found 3 different travel high school games being played between the Tucson teams and a team from Washington state.   Very cool.   We stayed for over an hour watching the games (a long time for a Toddler!). Win again!  

I pushed William right up behind the dugouts so he could get a close up view of the boys, and hear the sounds of the game and the coaching and the cheering.  He loved it. “Baseball” became the word of the rest of the day, and as soon as we got home, thats what he wanted to find.  He definitely connected the dots.   And for me it was fun too, to think about coming out here to watch more baseball this Spring -”I should look up the UofA schedule!”  I looked affectionately at the other baseball Dads there keeping track of the runs and the pitch counts.  I let him play in that great grass and he took advantage of that time to tackle me over and over and over....burn that energy buddy.  It was my favorite part of the day. 

We strolled our way back to the car, and started the commute home, and he was asleep in his car seat before we were out of the complex. I watched in the rearview mirror as his head started to bob, glad I was able to push that out to get it logged as a really solid sleep. Successful Afternoon Nap= Check.  

Whats next?  Home stretch! But my work isn’t done yet.  If I could get through the next 2.5 hours Id have a successful Dad day.  Had the quiet drive home to vision it out and reset again. Groceries, dinner, Spartans Basketball, bath and bed.  Lets have fun with this last little bit and get to the finish line!  Engage play and enjoy.  The secret weapon?  Butter and Noodles.  Take me home Noo Noos.

Before we knew it, he was fed, bathed and ready for a baba.  I whipped up a good combo that include butter and heavy cream, and he drank that right down as we looked at the Trucks book and read Booby Moon together as we talked about wanting to get some good sleep tonight.  It wasn’t the easiest goodnight.  Every time I put him down he was right back up like he hadn’t been out cold moments before! He’s been doing that a lot the past week for both of us, but I stayed calm and patient.  “You having trouble going to sleep?” I asked.  “yass” he answered.  “Its ok, Im here with you, for as long as you need. And even when I step out, I’ll come right back if you call me.  We’ll do this together.”   I bopped him to the finisher song, I’ll Be Around, and laid him down quietly.  He held still. I think I got him this time. ...  waaaiiittt.....  He quietly whimpered “mama” then “night night” - deep sigh, and that was it. Id made it to the end.  Check.  Win!

Donald Miller writes about a “good story” having a very simple formula:  A character that wants something and overcomes conflict to get it.  My fatherhood story here hasn’t been easy or natural. We’ve had some bumps.  But here we are, the story still being written.   I haven’t just left it at “this is impossible” - that wouldn’t be a very good story at all, for anyone; most of all William.   So as the plot takes shape, Ive had to work harder at it and these weekends on my own are the inciting incident(s).  As each Thursday night rolls around, its time to accept the invite again.  If I am going to have good days. - happy days - successful days, like today, its going to take a lot of effort. And I am sure as soon as I have it figured out, I’ll have to figure it out again.  I got great advice from Deni (Grammee) last week after the Friday morning tornado wiped me out;  “don’t get frustrated, just try something different.”  It takes a plan that is flexible enough to shake with his frenetic pace, and time to think of new and different things.  It takes more than just saying “that didn’t work” - but instead “what am I going to do if this doesn’t work?” - its not enough for me to know the play, its about “whats the next play?”  

Each weekend, I learn a little more and add some more skill. And the most important skill, is the importance of sequencing.  Its not enough to hope for an easy good night but what do I need to do from A to B in order to set him up to have an easy goodnight.   Audrie, in her love for both of us, simplified it down to “he just needs love.”  Sounds easy enough.  But knowing how I am going to deliver that love step by step through the day to keep up the positive momentum, thats the real game.  Before she left yesterday, we started something that I asked be a part of our weekly routine.  The pep talk.   We vision cast each of the days until she was back, including “what do you want for dinner Sunday night?”  We talked about whats been working recently and maybe what some new ideas are for play and for food.  I am not good enough at this to just be able to run out the clock, and take it easy.  At least not yet.  Maybe one of these weekends in 2023 I’ll put together the perfect weekend, and get through from start to finish without even so much of a raised blood pressure.  Im not there yet, but I am getting there.  Days like today make me believe that I am on my way.  And who knows, maybe when I am done putting together this great story, I will be apply everything Ive learned to my own every day life and then we can laugh about the cliche, “who was teaching who?”

Which does make alot of sense when you think about it. “Elation” already showed us that the cataclysm injury is starting to cause Gabriel physical pain again in episode 9:

For Nathalie though I had assumed by the end of s4 that Nathalie IS able to get back to full health again, but now “Passion” says that she’s doomed too:

So it seems Nathalie may have gotten better by now when it comes to the direct symptoms of the overuse of the peacock miraculous, but that doesnt stop the fatal long-term effects it has on her body. I guess that does check out.

And that means, with both Gabriel and Nathalie doomed to their ever futher-spreading illnesses set up to result in death, at some point neither of them can represent the business anymore without risking people catching onto the sicknesses. So I guess that only leaves the very obvious solution of having Adrien be the one to take over the position.

Although it does raise the questions of if or how Gabriels sickness can remain a secret from Adrien in all of this. Sure, NOW thats still possible to cover up but in what condition will he be in in another 9 episodes? Is Gabriel just never going to leave the lair again later in the season and Nathalie will tell Adrien that his father left elsewhere (without proplerly saying goodbye; season 4 finale possibly forshadowed that the other way around with Adrien leaving and Gabriel staying) and now Adrien has to fill in some of his fathers responsibilities? I mean, Adrien would have the time for it now that he isnt a model anymore.

Edit: The Tsurugi business might end up threatening to take over Gabriels business near the end too, since it’ll simply need a competent adult leader with gabriel and Nathalie down. That would fit surprisingly WELL too now in s5!

I dont see any reason why “Ephemeral” shouldnt have been legit forshadowing for s5, it sure felt weirdly “next-level for the Agreste story” in season 4.
