@ofdieus @merxxki @stxrfclls ... amethyst & open.
the former high lady of winter sat upon a balcony, much like she had the night before at the capital, overlooking the scenery. in her 600 years it was hard to find things she had never seen before. she could say this place was something she had never seen before or heard of in centuries. she was sure it was the dusk court, surprise was still edvident as she looked upon the horizon with both awe and amazement. she knew so many would be running about but she was taking time to look. "come sit," she said, and while her powers were not to their fullest, her hearing was still inacted. "watch the horizon with me."

she's been avoiding the main hall , ever since the portraits had been hung . too many eyes weighing down on her , suffocating . but knowing this can't last forever , and as activity around the palace meets a lull in the night , suzume finally goes to try meeting their gaze . which proves successful , at first , but as she trails over to the young chakris , there's a familiar , deeply - detested sting on the inner corners of her eyes . by the time she reaches the emperor and empress ( she assumes ) , their portraits are but blurry outlines . she turns on her heel , rushing out of the room with so little awareness that she nearly collides with @classiqals @espionisms @balteren @bxrnfrxmashes in the process . no one was supposed to be here . she shoots them a withering look , but in that very moment , the first tear rolls down her face . immediately , she turns her head with a sniff , swiping at her cheek . " excuse me . "

Rakesfall by @adamantine
They met as children in the middle of the Sri Lankan civil war. Later, in a demon-haunted wood, an act of violence linked them and propelled their souls on a journey through the ages. As they reincarnate ever deeper into the future, a truth emerges: Some stories take more than one lifetime to tell.
Running Close to the Wind by @ariaste
In this queer pirate fantasy, Avra Helvaçi has accidentally stolen the single most expensive secret in the world. To avoid capture, he flees to the open sea, where only his on-again, off-again ex aka pirate Captain Teveri az-Ḥaffār can help him survive, profit, and become a legend.
Cuckoo by Gretchen Felker-Martin
Something evil is buried deep in the desert. It wants your body and wears your skin. Welcome to Camp Resolution, a queer conversion center where everyone leaves a different person. In 1995, seven queer teens were abandoned here by their parents, but survived. Sixteen years later, they’re scarred and broken, but back to face an evil that threatens the world.
Kinning by Nisi Shawl
In this alternate history where barkcloth airships soar and former colonies claim freedom from imperialist tyrants, the identity of the island of Everfair still wavers. Victorious in the wake of the Great War, a new threat looms. Can Everfair continue to serve as a symbol of hope for anticolonial movements around the world, or will it fall to forces within and without?
Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea by @rebeccathornewrites
Can one of the Queen’s private guard and the most powerful mage in existence leave their lives behind to settle down in their new bookshop that serves tea? This cozy fantasy is steeped in sapphic romance and nestled on the edge of dragon country.
The Fragile Threads of Power by V. E. Schwab
Once there were four worlds, nestled like pages in a book, each pulsing with fantastical power and connected by a single city: London. After a desperate attempt to prevent corruption and ruin in the four Londons, there are only three. Now the worlds are going to collide anew—brought to a dangerous precipice by the discoveries of three remarkable magicians.
Now available in paperback!
The Archive Undying by @emcandon
This is a story about misplaced faith, complicated love, so much self-loathing, and yeah—giant robots. Plugged into his AI god when its apocalyptic corruption renders him unfortunately immortal, sad gay disaster Sunai takes a die-again-or-die-trying approach to things. Unending life’s tough when intimacy is somehow scarier even than either of the warring police states set on turning you into a weapon or the rogue undead mecha-fragment of your old god that wants to eat you.
Now available in paperback!
The Bell in the Fog by Lev AC Rosen
A dazzling historical mystery that dives into the shadowy, closeted world of the Navy, emerging in the gay bars of the city. It’s a whirlpool of missing people, violent strangers, and scandalous photos in 1952 San Francisco.
Now available in paperback!

Howdy @hdgnj & @radiance1 would it be alright if hypothetically a new thread was started?
I'm starting to feel bad for the people trying to get through the pages of text on our blogs lol.
HDNJ Reblog | RADIANCE Reblog
[I also understand if you would prefer just continuing from the initial thread]
So no matter what happens, it's pretty much agreed upon that the two need help. Along with the fact that they really can't just be left to wander, no matter how well they were doing.
(Bruce is having flashbacks to walking into Tim's stalker-shrine room when they look through the toddler's notebook) Because like, Match was pretty much live.
A lot of people saw him, and a lot more will continue, so it's not even close to being safe. For all they knew? Cadmus might've thought they had died since they were already deemed failures. But now everyone in the knows not only is at least one alive, but nearly fought Superman to a standstill.
Probably could've if not for the fact that they're a half-starved teen- though the half-feral part probably helped with the can't predict what the Duck attack is going to be next.
(I wanna add more but if idk which to do if we go to the thread lol)
(Also hi if ur just finding this, idk if it'll go anywhere but welcome to Radiance's prompt of tiny SuperWonder clone Danny)

it is all chaos and entropy. the thing is that the chaos and entropy make it beautiful and lovely.
yes, it's true that nature and the universe are uncaring and unspecific, and that is terrifying. i have lived through some of the unfairness - i got born like this, with my body caving into itself, with this ironic love of dance when i sometimes can't stand up for longer than 15 minutes. i am a poet with hands that are slowly shutting down - i can't hold a pen some days. recently i found a dead bird on our front porch. she had no visible injuries. she had just died, the way things die sometimes.
it is also true that nature and the universe are uncaring and unspecific, and that is wonderful. the sheer happenstance that makes rain turn into a rainbow. the impossible coincidence of finding your best friend. i have made so many mistakes and i have let myself down and i have harmed other people by accident. nature moves anyway. on the worst day of my life she delivers me an orange juice sunset, as if she is saying try again tomorrow.
how vast and unknowing the universe! how small we are! isn't that lovely. the universe has given us flowers and harp strings and the shape of clouds. how massive our lives are in comparison to a grasshopper. the world so bright, still undiscovered. even after 30 years of being on this earth, i learned about a new type of animal today: the dhole.
chance echoing in my life like a harmony between two people talking. do you think you and i, living in different worlds but connected through the internet - do you think we've ever seen the same butterfly? they migrate thousands of miles. it's possible, right?
how beautiful the ways we fill the vastness of space. i love that when large amounts of people are applauding in a room, they all start clapping at the same time. i love that the ocean reminds us of our mother's heartbeat. i love that out of all the colors, chlorophyll chose green. i love the coincidences. i love the places where science says i don't know, but it just happens.
"the universe doesn't care about you!" oh, i know. that's okay. i care about the universe. i will put my big stupid heart out into it and watch the universe feast on it. it is not painful. it is strange - the more love you pour into the unfeeling world, the more it feels the world loves you in return. i know it's confirmation bias. i think i'm okay if my proof of kindness is just my own body and my own spirit.
i buried the bird from our porch deep in the woods. that same day, an old friend reaches out to me and says i miss you. wherever you go, no matter how bad it gets - you try to do good.

I have sewed a few more blocks from the beach quilt, and I repaired a stuffed animal for a neighbor (no pictures because it's not my stuffed animal), but crafting updates might be a little sparse for the next week or so? I have a short week at work this week, a lot of work to get done, and I am getting my covid booster this week (we'll see how that goes lol)

[luminaryofblood] "You keep dangerous company... But then, I suppose I can't think of better company. Not in this time and age."
BALDUR'S GATE 3 SENTENCE STARTERS || Highly accepting!
Rya lifted her head, blinking at the towering figure. Hands crossed close to her chest. Unlike the current company, she was the contrast to the danger.
Since little, Rya had no friends of her age, growing up among recusants, or who ever her mother invited for trials. Among knights and dedicated the champions also included the wretched, murderers, deserters and those escaping ghosts from their pasts. Dangerous people, for dangerous tasks. Yet, she had opportunity to see better side of humanity within them. By cover, not many seemed too different.
Being no human herself she found kinship among the variety of beings mostly deceived by cover - aggressive, for having suffered of wrong doings. Some... pushed others away until convinced otherwise.
Perhaps, she had been merely lucky to avoid confrontation of a true monster, more likely, in a skin of a human, rather than anything else.
Finally, she spoke.
"...I suppose it depends, if I am in danger... I cannot think of anyone who hadn't stained their hands in blood. Whether in name of the Order, or blasphemy against it..." || @luminaryofblood

@n1ghtsongs @stxrfclls sunan & each sister.
once they were able to calm kitti down, and help them to another member of the dawn court, sunan was on the way to make sure his siblings were okay. his back was still killing him and he still had no idea where on the mother's green earth they were but it seemed as though it wasn't hostile . . . yet. gods he hoped it wasn't because his magic was already drained so much. upon seeing the back of their sibling they trotted up to them, placing a hand on each of their shoulders as he look inventory of their body. "are you okay?"

Thinking about that Zhihu AU where Tang Seng's disciples were Erlang Shen, Sun Wukong, and Bull Demon King instead.....
[ID: 1. An illustration of Erlang Shen, Sun Wukong, and Bull Demon King from the waist-up. Erlang Shen is wearing a weimao and a purple yuanlingpao archer-style with the left lapel flipped out. His two inner robe layers are checkered blue and purple-ish off-white. He has a snow leopard pelt at his waist. Sun Wukong is in his typical pilgrimage outfit, chewing on a piece of willow with his arms crossed. Bull Demon King has his arm around SWK's shoulder, leaning against him. He has a leopard pelt across his chest and a dark red scarf around his shoulders, with a red banbi and off-white inner robe. His other hand is on his mixed-iron rod, which is placed on his shoulder.
2. A translated screenshot from the aforementioned Zhihu thread. It reads "西天路走的太顺利畅,我反而无聊 This path to the Western Heaven is too smooth. I'm actually bored." End ID]

i don’t know if this is a weird question or not, but i’m just gonna ask it before i overthink too much 😅:
so, i’m formatting/printing TRT in order to bind in (just to have, not to profit off of, don’t worry), and i was thinking. you know how lots of books have a dedication from the author to friends/family/fans?
well, if you could write a dedication like that (and it would go in the printing if you’re okay with it), what would you say?
~ sincerely, a massive fan of your talent 💜
Thank you SO SO MUC! 😭 And this isn't weird at all although I FEEL LIKE PEDRO PASCAL WHEN HE GOT THE AWARD AND DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY BECAUSE HE HAD NOTHING PREPARED
I had to sit here for a GOOD long minute and then edit it down because holy shit there are people to thank.
Thank you to my family for always supporting your little oddball of a child over the years as I searched for, and eventually found, the artform that made my soul sing.
Thank you to the Daredevil writers, and Charlie Cox, for bringing to life a world and a character I've come to love so dearly, and a character whose struggles helped me process so much of my own pain and trauma.
And thank you to TRT's fans for following Matt and Jane's wild journey that I hilariously thought would attract three readers at most. Thank you for all the love and encouragement, the new friendships, and for letting me throw all my favorite tropes at you. You've kept me going when things got dark. You're the best readers I could have asked for. May this saga of foul-mouthed psychics, sexy devils, evil scientists, penguin courtship, emotional healing, wild smut, and true love most of all, give you just as much joy as it gave me. I love you. Stay hydrated.
