ngl im fucking terrified of how the fandom will act when the asian ccs get added and they are confronted with asian customs such as honorifics, asian cultural norms, and the language itself (ie words that are common in one language that sounds like a slur in another) and i know most of the fandom will be open and welcoming but idk im probably being way too pessimistic as someone who is asian and has seen the bs that people can spew esp regarding things like stereotypes

Self-conception is the source some of our sweetest pleasures — knowing ourselves to be loved or to have done well; and our greatest (and often self-inflicted) torments — believing ourselves to be worthless, unlovely, or unlovable. A sure sense of self-worth, based on the wholehearted endorsement of our practical identities, is enough in most circumstances to make life worth living. A sense of personal worthlessness, on the other hand, can be the motive for suicide or — as Nietzsche argued — the germ from which nihilism and the rejection of all value spreads. And I believe that self-conception is, and relatedly, the source of our capacity for everyday decency as well as of heroic virtue; and of our capacity for trivial pettinesses as well as for great crimes. I think that self-conception is, in short, the root of both moral good and evil.

I also find it funny that fandom will only accept Lyanna being her non-conforming, wild self in the context of saying that Arya isn't meant to be pretty; Any other day we get back-to-back posts about how Lyanna is actually super traditionally feminine cause she sniffled at a song once, so she's actually more like Sansa. Instead of constantly speaking on Arya and Lyanna, how about you guys reflect on why your standards of beauty for women are attached to how well they perform feminity within the patriarchy?

For my previous profound morality, having discovered that I’m as crudely alive as that crude light I learned yesterday, for that morality of mine, the hard glory of being alive is the horror. Before I lived in the humanized world, but did something purely alive collapse the morality I had? Because a world fully alive has the power of a Hell.

We know Kipperlilly hated the Bad Kids but how are we defining 'hate'? This is a longshot but what if she wasn't actually planning on targeting them personally for death etc. until that first meeting in the cafeteria? Because she approached them with serene grace then and for awhile after despite BLeeM's amazing acting it making it visibly clear she was struggling to not respond negatively to the bullying. Sure, she arranged for Frosty Fair to be held at the Thistlespring's, but we now know that wasn't about Gorgug at all and he may not have been personally in danger from what they were attempting. Maybe she even expected Kristen would be grateful for reuniting Cassandra with Ankarna.
Of course, I don't think Cassandra wanted to be reunited with Ankarna, Ankarna is obviously evil and all of this is evil, but what if the Rat Grinders have been hoodwinked this whole time, or at least up until a recent point of no return? Yolanda and the Loams could have died purely from Ankarna filling them with too much rage, it's possible the RGs had no intentional part in making that happen.
So like, what if Kipperlilly obsessively hated the Bad Kids, yes, but was on at least some level aware it was irrational? Because she'd gone all these years without blowing-up or striking out at them at all, maybe she knew to some extent that her hatred was disproportionate if only in regards to what they personally did wrong, right up until she finally had a face-to-face conversation with them and one of them literally entered the election just to keep her from winning?
The only crease to this is that for as much as Brennan has been desperately trying to signal to the IHs that Kipperlilly isn't Solace Hitler, and partly because of that, it's unlikely Euegnia is intended to be wrong when she speculates that Mazey only isn't dead for practical reasons and describes Kipperlilly finding her as holding her grave hostage.

kotlc is so interesting to me cause their societal norms are so different from humans but they're never portrayed as "better" (at least by Sophie/the narrative)

Dawg the fact that Ive been a big fan of Creepypasta since I was 12, and recently got involved in the fandom to get closer to the community, only to be dehumanized and harassed for MONTHS cuz of shit I cannot control. The same fucking disorders yall love to romanticize and glamorize. It's late where I am now so Im probably not wording this how I want to, but it's insane. Its not a safe space for the exact people it should be a safe space for. People who dont follow social norms, people who enjoy darker content, people who lack empathy, people with real debilitating mental illnesses that actually impact their lives who find comfort in characters who are like them. Good job for creating a cesspool of ableism towards the people this fandom was made for. I aint gonna name names but you know who you are

Hegel tells us in the last part of The Phenomenology of Mind that moral consciousness can exist only to the extent that there is disagreement between nature and morality. It would disappear if the ethical law became the natural law. To such an extent that by a paradoxical “displacement,” if moral action is the absolute goal, the absolute goal is also that moral action may not be present. This means that there can be a having-to-be only for a being who, according to the existentialist definition, questions himself in his being, a being who is at a distance from himself and who has to be his being.

My brain is a mess atm so I'm gonna try to keep this as cohesive as possible but god. I saw Across the Spiderverse for the second time yesterday night and I had completely forgotten the opening with the Comics Code Authority seal. My first time watching me and my friends laughed at that scene, "Haha lmao they're spoofing on the comics code authority a bit, hell yeah" I had thought, and I moved on to the masterpiece that was ATSP. The second time though, after knowing all the themes and ideas of the movie, the comics code seal hit me like a truck. Because Miles's story could NEVER be approved by the comics code. Neither could Pavitr's, nor Gwen's and definitely not Hobie's for that matter. And this ties back exactly to the themes of the movie because Miles's story is about rejecting conventional storytelling and the norms of what a Spiderman story should be. In the same way that Miguel is so obsessed with maintaining canon, maintaining the status quo of the Spiderman mythos, the entire point of the comics code was to restrict stories with new perspectives that didn't fit a certain agenda. It was when comics were able to break free from the code that we got so much innovation and diversity and complexity. And I know that morally Miguel and the Comics Code are definitely not a 1 to 1 comparison but in a meta sense, viewing ATSV's themes as a commentary on storytelling conventions, it fits perfectly I think.

Don't bother with R's, they'll show you inhumanity and selfishness unseen by your innocent mind.
Send to friends and family, bait and switch comments asking for links to YT videos, say it was an accident, followed by quotes by R politicians, such as Dump's, current, VP pick.
Normal people will have the normal reaction you did reading this. They will not think about it without the external information sharing. Make them. Because R's don't think. They Larp.
