Vampire!

I kept asking myself, "How sexy is too sexy.." and "How the fuck does a sexy vampire even look like without it being a shirtless guy w fangs or Edward Cullen....." I think I figured it out

Sure, sure, vampires are superhumans with sun allergies that can drink blood really hotly. They can also easily overpower you to feast and blah blah blah, but what if said vampire (Noritoshi) was too weak to do any of that? Not literally, but he craves your say. He wants not only your blood but your affection. He wants to get praised as he drinks you in. Are you comfortable? How much will you allow him to take? Do you want to get him back in return? Guidance with this makes him feel more at ease. It's still Noritoshi at the end of the day. He's going to find a way to be a little awkward about you because of his crush. He refuses to drink from anyone other than you, even if it causes his death. Therefore, he has to keep you healthy! For the rest of your lives..! Besides, he can't really go outside or else he'd.. y'know. So if you think about it, this is a very beneficial relationship for both of you!!

The only downside is that you're losing blood on the regular, and for some reason, more people are moving away... Probably nothing, right? Noritoshi is always there to keep you company and help you recover anyways.

my attempts also bled into the witch design.... you got greedy with requesting two in one ask, but I'll spoil you this time bc I also wanted to see Noritoshi as a (sexy) vampire and witch. heh. AND I DIDNT REALIZE HED BE SO CUTE AS A WITCH..... WHAT THE FUCK?? rip momo, fight for your title of cute witch...

Noritoshi strikes me as one of those witches who'd rather be left to their own devices because they're running some important magic whatever in the background. though, he'll take some breaks and indulge you if you insist on having him around. Insist meaning you pass by and strike conversation, leaving him to neglect anything and everything to prioritize his time with you. He doesn't want to use magic on you unless it's beneficial for either you or both. Noritoshi likes a natural progression with you that he knows for a fact is true and not some product of some spell. Though it doesn't mean he wouldn't use charms and such to get you to interact with him more often to speed up the process!

Can't sleep? He has a remedy perfect for that! Bad luck? Oh no, take a charm. Nerves? A potion he perfected will help you ease your jitters. Annoying peers? With a snap of Noritoshi's fingers, they're gone! Just don't ask what happened. Enjoy yourself instead and come to him with any new issue. He's quick to resolve it.

Definitely has some sort of doll that looks suspiciously like you.. Noritoshi would probably talk to it and practice one liners that give you the strongest sense of nostalgia once he uses them. He's simultaneously giddy that the charm he put in the doll works but also a little annoyed that his hard work isn't surprising you, but leaving you with deja vu.

Idol!

i was crying the entire time bc what does an idol look like.... noritoshi is handsome enough to be an idol without actually being an idol... now i can confirm that idols are very well dressed though. thumbs up 100% but i had some thoughts...

Noritoshi would be the type to cherish his fans, but hold clear favoritism over you. he'd be those idols that look cold, but they talk, and they sound smug in a charming way. i don't know much about idols, but i know he'd be so fucking good.... he'd be the type of guy to sing to you amongst the hundreds in the crowd.... ahhh the interviews w these famous aus. they're just talking and acting like themselves. can you imagine Noritoshi getting asked the question if he has a lover or not? he can lie, im sure you're alright with that, but he doesn't want to!! he does have someone!!! someone he loves more than all his fans love for him combined!!! he just can't say it for the sake of your privacy and his career. so Noritoshi does what any charming guy who's good with their words does. he deflects the question. answering the question, but not really, that'd be something he's known for. fans online are split on why Noritoshi does this. some think he's trying to keep that side of his life private, others think he's trying to mess around, and others think he's hiding a secret lover!!! though the last one is usually seen as the outlandish one, sometimes it makes Noritoshi's heart drop bc they get some things right. "Having a lover is a complicated question hidden behind a simple disguise. If I had to answer, I'd say my lovers are my audience. they make sure i'm well cared for, some more than others." An amusing thought where Noritoshi goes out in his casual clothes, and he's mistaken for an idol. No one knows who he is, but he just looks like he'd be one. bro's just trying to buy groceries, and now he has a fan group asking him to take pictures with them.. He'd tell them that he's just a guy, not an idol, but the group would still want a picture with him. it'd be a waste to pass by someone who's so naturally gorgeous, so with a sigh of defeat, he relents. It's just a photo, right? No harm done. Noritoshi'd go home and feel overwhelmed/embarrassed by the whole ordeal. later, he gets a call from someone in the kyoto group or you to inform him how he's all over social media, known as that handsome guy in the supermarket. HED BE COMPLETELY UNREACHABLE TO MEDIA OUTLETS BC NORITOSHI IS THAT GUY WHO DOESNT HAVE SOCIAL MEDIA.... he'd have to make one to make sure no one pretends to be him online. Noritoshi would probably own a small clinic that he wants to expand. That or he opened one after working for a hospital for a while. He's a great doctor who's most likely respected but a pain in the ass to work with. Among patients, he's gotten the hot doctor reputation. Most want to be treated by him, but he's so professional, any chance of trying to flirt goes down the drain. Yeah, he puts his hair up to avoid it in his face even though his eyes are closed classic lab safety procedures. He seems like the type to have a soothing but authoritative voice during examination, so he gets his message across. it's a bit difficult when dealing with patients for Noritoshi. If he sees them too often, he firstly scolds you for not taking care of yourself, then feels guilty for not giving you the proper care. Keep yourself safe and healthy, or else Noritoshi will clearly :( Putting him in a yandere setting would be dangerous. He'd have a lot of control over you, considering he can prescribe medication, shots, visits, and other things.... he'd have a ball.... nothing that would cause you any harm, of course. he's only looking out for you and doing what's best for you..!

Noritoshi as a pirate would be more than a little odd, but also fitting. He looks like the type of guy who'd be well put together, yet he's willing to get his hands dirty. Like the guy who got into the pirate life because of some personal issue that couldn't be solved fast enough through conventional means. Even as a pirate, i imagine he holds everyone to high standards. They're still pirates though.. so his expected standards aren't even that high. He has more freedom here, so even he himself lets loose once or twice. Especially with you. He's even able to get away with more violent actions for you, the seas are unpredictable, after all. While taking some treasure, Noritoshi'd toss you a gem or golden coin, just so you can say you were the first to claim it. Just so he can see that happy glint in your eyes when getting your hands on treasure. God forbid anyone try to get their hands on your hard earned goods. They'd be met with a bullet to the foot or a sword at their neck. Everyone and their mother knows how you're his favorite, but Noritoshi downplays it. Its not a crime to help out someone from his crew is it? Not in the seven seas. He leans more into his cold ruthless killer side here. He has goals and people to help keep in line whether hes captain or not. Yet when around you, he's almost adorable in how he shows you a pearl so entrancing that it reminded him of you.

Noritoshi is the type to never be fully relaxed unless he knows for sure you'll be eternally his. In this scenario, YOU proposed to HIM but have to die to continue being together. Not only that, but someone in the living world is also after your heart. Someone who bleeds. Someone who's the obvious choice. Someone who can give you the life that you deserve. Someone who will succeed in their pursuits if you. remain. alive. Noritoshi's life was cut short, yet he still managed to lose so much and be abandoned a considerable amount of times. When he meets you and finds out about the possibility of having to go through that again even in death, it finally clicks in his rotting mind. He realizes he's been doing something wrong to keep constantly failing. Noritoshi revises his methods to a more.. selfish course. Why should he care about anyone else's wants or how his actions hurt them? You were the only one who made him truly fulfilled, to make him feel alive. The only one who deserves anything and everything good that comes from this world. Destiny is never done toying with him when he realizes your marriage is invalid because of your pulse and his lack thereof no matter how hard he'd try, but the opportunity arises. of course, he's ecstatic to give you an afterlife worth much more than what a silly beating heart can achieve. "All people die eventually. If you miss your living family or friends, all it takes is patience, darling. I'll wait by your side in the meantime." He weighs the pros and cons of everything, but when it comes to swaying manipulating your thoughts he only highlights the ones that'll get you on his side. in this case, the pros of dying to be with him! Honestly, the answer was so obvious that Noritoshi didn't know why he was stressing about it before. It hurts him to see you in any type of pain, but he reassures both himself and you that it'll only be for a moment. Afterward, he'll have the rest of your afterlives to make it up to you!! What happened to Till Death Do Us Part? Noritoshi thinks it's insulting that something as shallow as that could be so widely accepted. If your love were true, it wouldn't stop just because the world decided to take them away. "Till death do us part? Darling, don't be silly. the restaurant is cozy, the kind of place that doesn’t draw much attention from the outside but feels like a hidden treasure once you step inside.

soft lighting casts a warm glow over the wooden tables, and the low murmur of conversation mixes with the occasional clinking of plates.

you’re here with friends, seated at a corner table, menus spread out in front of you.

it’s the kind of night where you’re just looking forward to good food and laughter.

the waiter approaches, balancing several plates on his tray, and sets a bowl down in front of you. you thank him absentmindedly, but the moment your eyes land on your dish, you can’t help but pause.

it’s beautiful in its simplicity—steaming ramen served in a deep bowl, the broth shimmering under the restaurant’s soft light.

thin slices of pork rest delicately on the surface, alongside a soft-boiled egg, its yolk a vibrant golden color. green onions and a sheet of nori top it off, each detail deliberate and precise.

when you take the first bite, your eyes widen. the broth is rich and savory, the kind of flavor that seems to envelop your entire mouth.

the noodles are perfectly cooked, springy but not too firm, soaking up just enough of the broth.

each topping complements the next—the pork is tender, the egg creamy, the green onions adding a fresh, sharp contrast.

“oh my god,” you mutter, setting your chopsticks down for a moment. “this is incredible.”

your friends laugh at your reaction, one of them nudging you with their elbow. “you always get like this when the food’s good.”

the comment earns a round of laughter, but you’re already distracted, glancing around the room for the waiter.

the waiter looks surprised by the question. “our head chef is bakugou katsuki. would you like me to��”

“yes, please,” you interrupt, a little too quickly. realizing how eager you sound, you backtrack. “I mean, if he’s not too busy.”

the waiter nods and disappears toward the kitchen, leaving your friends to give you a variety of amused and curious looks.

“what?” you say defensively. “it’s not every day you eat something this good.”

a few minutes later, the kitchen door swings open, and the man who walks out is…not what you expected.

you were picturing someone older, maybe with a few gray hairs and a soft smile.

instead, this man—bakugou katsuki, apparently—is tall and broad-shouldered, his chef’s coat fitting snugly over a strong frame.

his spiky blond hair looks slightly damp, like he’s been working hard, and his expression is one of mild irritation.

he looks more like a professional athlete than a chef.

“what?” he says, his voice low and rough, as he strides up to your table. his crimson eyes sweep over the group before landing on you.

and for a moment, bakugou freezes. he didn’t know what to expect when the waiter said someone wanted to meet him—probably some pompous critic or a customer with a laundry list of complaints.

but you’re not what he expected. at all. there’s something about the way you’re looking at him, your eyes wide with a mix of nervousness and awe, that throws him completely off balance.

you’re…really pretty. too pretty, actually.

it’s annoying, how much it catches him off guard. his chest tightens, and he suddenly feels hyperaware of himself—his hands, his posture, the faint dampness of his forehead from the heat of the kitchen.

damn it.

“I, uh,” you start, faltering under his intense gaze. you weren’t expecting him to be so—well, intimidating. “I just wanted to say that the food is amazing. like, really amazing.”

for a moment, he just stares at you, his jaw tightening slightly. then he rubs the back of his neck, glancing away as if trying to compose himself. “thanks,” he mutters, his tone less gruff than before.

the way he looks away almost makes you smile.

he doesn’t seem like the type to take compliments well, and you can’t help but find it endearing. but at the same time, his presence is overwhelming, and you feel heat creeping up your neck.

“well,” he says abruptly, his eyes snapping back to yours. “if that’s it, I’ve got stuff to do.”

“right, of course,” you say quickly, nodding. “thank you again.”

he nods once, almost curtly, before turning and heading back toward the kitchen. you watch him go, your mind racing with thoughts you can’t quite organize.

the rest of the evening goes by in a blur.

you and your friends continue to chat and laugh, but your thoughts keep drifting back to bakugou. his sharp eyes, the way he looked almost flustered when you complimented him.

it’s distracting, and you can’t quite shake it.

as you’re leaving, stepping out into the cool night air, a voice calls out behind you.

“hey.”

you turn to see him standing in the doorway, still in his chef’s coat. he looks like he’s debating whether this is a good idea or not, his expression tight with something between determination and reluctance.

in his hand is a paper bag with the restaurant’s logo. “here,” he says, holding it out to you.

you blink, confused. “I didn’t order takeout.”

“it’s on me,” he says, shoving the bag toward you. his crimson eyes flick to the side, avoiding your gaze.

“oh, but—”

“just take it,” he interrupts, his voice firm but not unkind.

you hesitate for a moment before taking the bag. your fingers brush against his, and the brief contact sends a strange warmth through your chest. “thank you,” you murmur.

he nods, and for a moment, it looks like he might say something else. but then he just steps back inside, the door closing behind him.

when you get home, you open the bag to find a perfectly packaged serving of the ramen you raved about earlier. sitting on top is a small note, written in slightly messy handwriting:

here's a collection of my Murder Drones headcanons because I like yaping about Murder Drones

- Cyn likes to watch people sleep. This has nothing to do with the solver btw she just like that. She likes how calm they are when they're asleep.

- V loves trashy romance novels, the more sappy and lovey-dovey the better. A quarter of her memory is dedicated to her romance books. Also she has killed to keep this a secret and she will kill again.

- Uzi is a Sonic fan and she claims her favorite character is Shadow (but secretly her true favorite character is Amy, she just won't admit it). N doesn't really get Sonic but he will listen to Uzi talk about it for hours just because he likes hearing her talk. (Also his favorite is Silver)

- N is actually not that affected by horror movies, he has seen and done worse after all. But he does use horror movie nights as an excuse to snuggle Uzi and V.

- Tessa practices kissing on J once or twice.... Maybe three times but that's just what friends do, and J almost overheated after was completely coincidental, don't read into it there just gal pals trust me.

- Khan loved fishing before all the water froze and the fish died, kinda related but J also likes fishing.

- Nori really doesn't want to be the type of parent that judges her child partner but Uzi is testing her patients. She could handle a boyfriend, a girlfriend and a nonbinaryfriend, hell she would accept her dating a human, but no Uzi had to date not one but two of disassemble drones (NUziV is cannon because it's awesome) and Nori is terrified that the 3rd one will come home one day.

- post finale Thad and Cyn became surprisingly fast friends, Thad isn't really all that bothered by being friendly with someone who has tried to kill and eat everyone he knows (mainly because he kinda desensitizes to it) and he thinks she's fun to talk to. And Cyn just like anyone who would talk to her without all the baggage of her own actions.

- still post finale, Cyn has a little soundproof box she is put in when Uzi wants alone time, Cyn used to hate it and tried to escape the box, until one day she did and she saw something she didn't want to see. She still hates the box but she now knows better.

- Cyn whispers evil into Uzi's ear when she's asleep, like literally she repeatedly whispers the word evil into Uzi ears just to annoy her.

So what's Crystal's/Potato's backstory exactly? Like did Uzi and N come across her while hunting and collectively decided "our baby now"? Also I did notice she only seems to have one arm, did she lose the other one?

Potato's lore [which I'll just refer her as for simplicity sakes; also bc bouncing her diff names may get confusing] is actually kinda. Sad </3 so incoming for implied heavy themes;; also kinda long, I like to ramble soooo yeah :p

Potato was actually found by V first!

V was out finding drone parts for Nori [who has gotten a body at this point in this continuation. also the disassembly drones kinda?? (not entirely) work under Nori] when she stumbled upon a couple of murked drones, precisely a deceased couple & pod. It struck her as odd since she didn't recognize who the drones were or the fact there didn't seem like any of the disassemblers were behind it. Her attention was grabbed by a nearby, busted out car, & that's where she would find Potato; laying there, injured & scared, somehow surviving whatever had attacked the family.

Obvs first instinct was to bring the droneling [funny name ik] back & she was put under Nori's watch for awhile.. mostly bc V was unsure if she was qualified to take care of another kid, at least at the time [which in this continuation/au, she is paired up with Lizzy & those two already have a kid named Harley (owned by my bro @teddyberrii)].

That's really when Uzi & N step in, since at this point the two have been trying for a kid for awhile now to no avail; they didn't know Potato was in the Doorman residence/Nori's workshop until her little head poked out the doorway & they all stared at each other like deer in headlights. It is safe to say that Potato was already up Uzi's leg, clinging to her like a baby koala & she simply accepted the drone as her new kiddo [especially since it would a week or two & no additional family member of hers seemed to come pick up Potato... so she was officially a Doorman.]

Regarding some of Potato's scars [on her face, the lack of an arm, etc], they were inflicted. She's almost completely mute & doesn't really talk; essentially Potato's been through some.. hardy stuff & honestly it takes a long time to really come to terms with a lot of things [childhood trauma does wonders for you /sar.] However, pretty much after getting adopted by Uzi & N.. her life gets better! Despite now being in a family of, what everyone assumes, of mix-matched monsters & unimaginable eldritch horrors.. she is very happy! She gets to grow up with parents that love her dearly & recover from that past trauma.

Will I go into more Potato lore? Yeah, I plan to; not trying to be too secretive since I'm unsure if I'll ever make a story outta this but eh we'll see.. hope this answers something for you anon <3

[ Nori - Nizhóní Burman ]

A former outlaw that returned to a more domesticated life after meeting Khan on the mexican-US border in 1871, Nori seemed to never quite adapt to running a town. While she could get behind the importance, she always felt the urge to leave for great travels again, returning to a life in a gang once again. Upon her suden disappearance one day, folks are rumoring that she might've given in, returning to her life as an Outlaw, while the Elders in the town whisper of her being taken by the Spirits of the West, in order to help them establish balance again. Whatever's true in the end, only she know, and only she may tell her tale.

[ Khan Hernandez Burman ]

The child of an indian immigrant and a mexican farmer, Khan grew up appreciating the desert around the border, being fascinated by not only the farmwork, but also capentry and building houses, as well as helping his father establish the settlement that came to be known as "Tumbleweed", a humble yet orderly town he now runs after his father's passing in the Winter. Since Nori's disappearance he'd been on the look for her ever since, raising their daughter Neera by himself and establishing her as his deputy.

[ Neera "Uzi" Burman ]

Coming after her mother in many regards, Neera (also known als "Uzi") also seeks a life beyond the borders of the town she grew up in - held back by her father's fear of her bringing harm upon herself or the town. Assisting her father with deputy and farm works, Neera's also quite fascinated by guns, repairing and cleaning her own repeaters and colts, as well as saving up to buy new ones she finds in stores and catalogues all around. In her free time (or when she sneaks off) she's often seen in Thaddeus' saloon, downing a whiskey or two to pass the time and gossip with her best friend.

[ Thaddeus "Thad" ]

Thaddeus, by most folks only known as "Thad", is the friendly face and bartender of Tumbleweed's only saloon. He came from the city and is actually Lizzie's brother - annoyed and quite bored by the city life and rapid industrialisation happening he moved further down to the border, where he met Khan and his daughter Neera. Taking over the old, run-down saloon Khan's father used to run inbetween sheriffs work, Thad's skills from having worked in the city before proved themselves useful.

[ Elizabeth "Lizzie" ]

Always a smile on her joyous face, Lizzie is known for her pompous demeanor, loud voice and a meanly swung dance leg in the bar. She does not shy away from embracing her feminine side while also standing up for herself and other women, especially during the women's rights movements happening in the US. She grew up in the city together with Victoria, who she considers her best friend... and secret crush. Since Lizzie got married, she and Victoria had to keep their relationship even more off a secret. Upon recieving a letter one day asking her to join Victoria in the countryside, Lizzie leaves the city - although with a heavy heart - to rejoice with her lover.

[ Victoria "Vicky" ]

Similar to Nathan and Jemima, Victoria grew up as an orphan, actually stationed in the same orphanage as the other two, where they got to know each other. Being adopted into the city by a middle class family, Victoria felt gratitude, although she deeply missed the countryside and hard work on a farm she'd experienced before her parent's death, eventually running away from home at the age of 17, leaving not only her family but also Lizzie behind in the city. Swearing to make enough money as a farmhand to one day purchase her own property, Victoria stood up to defy the stereotype of the "weak woman" at the time, proving herself daily.

The sun had just begun to set behind the looming mountains on the horizon. The sky painted in hues of pink and orange, cast a golden light on the company of Thorin Oakenshield. The dwarves, tired from their journey potter around camp, setting up for the night. They chatter to one another in their secret language, laughing as they set down their packs and build a fire.

Placing your bag on the outskirts of the clearing, you look around discreetly at the men, seeing if any of them were looking, before taking your knapsack filled with toiletries and clean clothes and taking your leave. It had been at least a week since you had last bathed properly and the whole company had begun to smell like a pile of corpses. The sweat and filth from the horses was irritating your skin, and you didn’t know how much more of this you could take.

Since waking up in this strange land you have had nothing but pain and discomfort, especially if Thorin had anything to say about it. He seemed to have some sort of vendetta against you. Possibly because you’re a woman, more likely because you’re human. Either way, you get the sense he sees you as a burden on his company, despite Gandalfs insistence that your presence is a sign. Whatever that means.

Still they’re not all bad though. Bilbo is a gentleman with a kind soul, who enjoys spending the evenings talking with you. Bofur is friendly and easy to get along with, never failing to make you smile with a borderline inappropriate joke. And Kili, well, you weren’t yet sure to feel about him. He seems kind and charming, but he could very well just be a fuckboy in disguise. You try not to let his flowing locks and chiseled jaw distract you too much. You’re far too busy trying to survive to entertain a relationship right now. Plus you doubt Thorin would ever allow it, some strange human woman from another world and his prized prince nephew. ‘Pfft as if’ you think grumpily to yourself.

You kick rocks and twigs out of your way as you venture further into the forest, hoping to find a large enough bush to hide behind so you can give yourself a much needed rag wash.

As you walk though, you spot an unusual brick structure sticking out of the trees. Curious, you go over to take a look. The small stone wall stands around your chest height and curves around a pool of water, just big and deep enough for someone to sit in with their legs outstretched. The air around the water is warm and prickles your skin, “You’re joking” you whisper to yourself in disbelief. You dip your fingers in and sigh, it was hot. Quickly stripping off your clothes, you slip into the hot spring, groaning as your body relaxes for the first time in weeks.

You take your time lathering yourself up, before rinsing off the build up of filth. Once clean, you rest your head on the edge of the stones, soaking the water’s warmth. You’re so very tired. Your limbs feel heavy and your eyelids begin to flutter closed. You let out a long yawn before drifting off into a deep restful sleep.

Back at camp the dwarfs fuss around fire, each one playing their part like a well oiled machine. With Bomber, Bilbo, Nori and Ori preparing a stew dinner. Dori and Bifur tending to the fire. Bofur, Gloin and Oin tending to and unpacking the ponies. Balin and Thorin conversing over the map. And Dwalin, Fili and Kili preparing to hunt some fresh animals for the days to come. However, Kili’s mind seems to be elsewhere. He looks around the camp anxiously, a deep frown etched upon his face.

“What’s wrong brother?” Fili nudges him with his elbow. “She’s not here” he replies, looking out into the darkening forest with worry. Fili quickly surveys the camp “She took her bag. She’s probably off doing ladies business” he shrugs unconcerned. Kili shakes his head, still not convinced, “I just have a bad feeling about it, perhaps we should go look for her”,

“And perhaps you just wish to see her unclad” Fili jests, a cheeky smile stretched across his face.

Kili’s face grows hot with embarrassment “N-no” he stutters “I’m just concerned for her safety, from… wolves and stuff”. Fili stares at him in complete disbelief before sighing “Alright, let’s go find her, but you’re telling Dwalin we’re not helping him hunt tonight” Kili’s face pales at the thought of disappointing the older dwarf “Alright” he replies grimly.

After being growled at by Dwalin, Fili and Kili wandered through woods calling your name, but to little avail.

“I told you something was wrong” Kili exclaims frantically. “She probably just wandered too far” his brother tries to calm him with no success. Kili calls your name again, desperate to hear your voice. He wasn’t sure why he was having such a reaction to your absence. He’d barely held a proper conversation with you! Not that he didn’t try, he did, much to his own embarrassment. All he managed to get out was some crappy pickup line he’d heard used at an inn, which also didn’t work on the other lass either.

There was just something so.. magnetic about you, something that drew him in closer.

“I’m here, I’m just changing!” Your faint voice answers back. Kili whips his head in your direction, his hair flinging everywhere. “See, she’s just changing. Now, let’s give her some privacy aye?” Fili pats him on the shoulder as he heads back to camp. Kili spares one last glance before following in his brothers footsteps.

You rouse to the sound of your name being called, the male voice getting closer to your bathing spot. “I’m here, I’m just changing!” You call back to them groggily. Quickly climbing out of the pool you frantically redress yourself, not taking note of your surroundings as you throw your knapsack over your shoulder and trudge back to camp. Your muscles feel relaxed and your brain foggy after your long bath. You let out a long yawn as you finally reach the clearing where the company was staying.

As you lug yourself over to your bag, dropping your knapsack beside it, you begin to rummage through it trying to find your spoon and bowl.

"Uh.. lass?" Bofur asks hesitantly. "What?" You reply, still trying to find your utensils. "Would you mind turning around real quick?", "What?" You turn, looking at him over your shoulder, still kneeling down. "And can you stand up now?" He and the rest of the company stare at you with a look of shock. "What the fuck are you talking about Bofur?" you glare at him confused. "Please, just.. stand up" Kili pleads with you.

You stare at him for a moment, unsure what to do, before rising to your feet. As you stand however, your eyeline seems to fall quite short of where you usually rise to. Usually, you'd be at least a head taller than the dwarves, but now, your eyes seem to be inline with Kili's nose. You stare at him in complete shock, your body frozen in fear. "What the fuck is going on?" you whisper. "You're short," he states, staring at you. "I'm short" you echo.

Despite your hesitations surrounding Kili, you could obviously see he was quite the handsome man. But from this angle, jeeeesus did he look big. His shoulders were broader, his arms thicker, and his hands… definitely more noticeable.

Thorin marches over, his face stony with seriousness "What happened? Where did you go?" his voice booms. "I don't know, I just had a bath, fell asleep, and came back to camp" panic begins to grip your chest as you worry about the longevity of your sudden vertical ailment.

Kili steps closer to your side, his hand gently resting on your arm in comfort. Your heart warms briefly at the gesture. "And where did you bathe?" Gandalf asks, wandering over. You hesitate telling them about the hot spring, "Uhh.. It was like, a fallen stone structure surrounding a small pool".

He hums in thought for a moment, "And was there anything strange or unusual about this pool?",

"...The water was hot" you hear some of the company scoff or sigh at the thought of a hot bath.

Gandalf nods in understanding "There are many places in Middle Earth that hold magical properties. We should wait and see if it clears up with time" He smiles at you most unhelpfully, before pottering off to smoke. Thorin sighs slowly out his nose, agitated by the wizards cryptic ways "We'll do as he instructs" he looks to you then nods to Kili, before returning to his spot.

Kili lingers by your side for a moment, unsure whether to stay or go "Perhaps it would be best if you slept by Fili and I tonight, you know, for safety" he looks down at you. You nod your head, not even having thought of how this might affect other aspects of your life. Kili smiles widely at you before picking up both your bags with ease "Come, it'll be warmer by the fire anyway".

After settling in next to the two, now very tall and slightly intimidating, dwarf brothers. You curl up in your bedroll, scrunch your eyes shut, and pray to anything that might listen, that you return to size by the morning.

However, sleep does not come easy this time. The world seems all the more vast and all the more dangerous. You wriggle around trying to make yourself comfortable to little avail. Suddenly, a thick weight is placed across your body. You look down to find Kili's leather coat covering you "I thought you looked a bit cold" he says gently, tucking you in.

For the second time tonight, your heart warms because of Kili “Thank you. Are you sure you don’t want it though?”, he shakes his head “Nah, we dwarves are thick-skinned” he smile cheekily at you.

“Good night Amrâl (love)” he whispers, Good night Kili” you respond, before turning over.

You tuck your head into his coat, a sense of comfort and warmth washing over you as you finally drift off to sleep.

In the morning, you were sorely disappointed to find that you had not gone back to normal.

You frustratedly pack your bag as the company readies to leave. Swinging your now, much heavier backpack onto your shoulders, its weight causing you to lose your balance and fall flat on top of it. You lay on your back for a moment, staring up the early morning sky. Sighing, you attempt to roll over on to your side with no success. "Need help?" Kili steps into your vision, hand outstretched. You smile at him exhaustedly, allowing him to help you up.

Unbeknownst to you, this would not be the last time Kili assists you because of your new vertical condition. After a long day of riding, sat behind Bilbo, you struggle to find your footing on the stirrups. Kicking helplessly, as you attempt to get down, "Allow me to help" Kili says from behind you. You nod, and he places his hands firmly on your hips, lifting from the pony and onto the ground with ease.

Whilst travelling, the company comes across a steep rock wall in their path. Allowing the the ponies to climb up themselves would be safest, but it also meant you were left to struggle against the incline yourself. As you grip on to the rocks and roots, you find your muscles seizing up underneath the weight of your pack. Your hand suddenly slips and you lose your balance. Luckily, Kili manages to catch your arm before you topple down "Careful there Thatr (Star)" he smiles down at you cheekily, before lifting you up the rest of the way.

Every slip, trip, tumble and fall, is swiftly avoided by Kilis' keen senses and eagerness to protect you from harms way, especially during this vulnerability. However, his helping hand doesn't aid your feelings of helplessness. It feels as though each day you become even more and more of a burden than the last. You were on your last threads

And then a storm rolled in.

The wild winds threatens to throw you, and poor Bilbo, off your pony. "Thorin, we must find shelter!" Kili yells, his voice barely traveling against the pelting rain.

Thorin, at the front of the pony line, turns around to look at his miserable and waterlogged company, "Head for the tree line. We'll set up the tents!" he finally relents to the weather.

Trotting over to the forest, the company swiftly dismounts, and quickly begins to set up some two-man tents.

After helping Bilbo off the pony, you swing your leg over, attempting to dismount yourself. But your foot slips off the stirrup, and you fall backwards off the pony, twisting, and landing face first in the mud.

You lift yourself up with your arms, your leg still caught in the saddle causes you to partially hang off the horse. You gasp and spit out the mud, eyes screwed tightly shut. A shocked and frustrated yell leaves your lips.

“Hold on ‘Ibinê (my gem)!" Kili calls out to you. A pair of strong hands lift you up from under your armpits. Once standing, they wipe the mud from your face and you are finally able to see again. Kili stands in front of you, face scrunched in concern as he tries to wipe away the filth, "I'm so sorry Gaihith (Little Dove), I should have been there to catch you".

His words are the last straw. Your lip trembles as you try to keep the tears at bay. All you can do is nod your head in response, ducking it low so he wont see your teary eyes.

But he does, of course. Gentle hands cups your face, guiding you to raise your head again "Go to my tent. I'll be there in a moment" he says firmly, face mere inches from your own. You let out a shuddered breath and nod.

Crawling into his very cozy tent, you let out an exhausted sob. The tears begin to fall uncontrollably as you lay down on his bedroll.

As you wallow, the flap of the tent opens and Kili shuffles in, pushing your own bag into the corner.

He had stayed in the rain to retrieve it for you. The thought causes your heart to ache more and cry harder. "Come here Halwûna (Sweet one)" he coos scootching in beside you.

He holds his arms out and you don't skip a beat before cuddling into his chest. Kili holds you tight as sobs wrack your body "It's alright", "You're okay", "I'm here" he whispers into your hair.

As your cries calm down, Kili pull his head away to look at your face. You look haggard. Face puffy, eyes bloodshot, a bit of drool on the side of your mouth, drenched in sweat and rain. "What's wrong Benmar (Supreme beauty)?" he whispers, wiping ways the spit and tears. You sigh "I'm just so tired of being short" you manage to stutter out.

He hums in agreement "It has been and difficult few weeks hasn't it?",

"And I worry I might not ever go back to normal" you begin to sob again. Kili gently holds your cheek regaining your attention "I'm sure you'll go back to normal Mesem (Jewel), just give it time" he reassures you.

"But what if I don't" you can’t help but worry, as you gaze deeply into his warm brown eyes. "Well, then I suppose I'll just have to keep taking care of you forever" he smiles softly at you.

"Oh Kili-" you cry weakly at his romantic gesture. "Shh" he gently kisses your forehead, then you cheek, then your nose before pulling back slightly to stare at you, asking, no begging for permission.

"Please-" is all you have to say before he swoops in, planting a firm kiss against your lips. You clutch to his jacket, his touch grounding you. As you pull away, you rest your forehead against his "Everything will be alright. I'm sure of it Amrâlimê (My love/Love of mine)".

You nod, trusting him, "You know, you're gonna have to teach me what all these names mean one day". He smiles widely at you "It means ‘love of mine'" he whispers to you.

Your heart swells and you shyly smile at him "I love you too" you softly whisper back to him.

He grins before pulling you closer "Come, we should rest. It's been a long day. And we have plenty of time for kissing tomorrow" he pinches your side lightly, causing you to squeak and squirm. Settling in against him you fall into a long restful sleep.

Throughout the following week your height, very slowly, begins to go back to normal. Eventually, you are able to carry your pack again, hop on and off your pony, and even help around camp. Kili however, did not change one bit. Still offering to lift your bag, a hand when dismounting, and anything else he could think of. Kili stuck by your side like glue.

Sitting around the fire with the rest of the company, you lean your head on Kili's, now that you're tall enough to do so, his arm wrapped securely around your waist.

“I'm glad you didn't keep your word" you whisper to him privately.

"What do you mean?" he looks up at you, brows furrowed in concern.

“I'm glad you didn't stop taking care of me, just because I'm big again" you explain.

He scoffs at the thought “I also told you I’d take care of you forever, didn’t I?” He smiles up at you, eyes practically shining with affection. And in that moment, you knew he would.

Who is Lizzy's Secret Friend?

Two possibilities in my mind. Neither perfect, but they're the only remotely conceivable ones (sans a new character)

Nori or V, and Thad already knows about V.

Lizzy is clearly texting someone throughout the entirety of this scene, and her first instinct upon seeing N, V and J's ship destroyed is to take a picture and send it to whoever she's talking to.

I'm leaning more towards Nori as immediately after the Nori core asks N how he knows her daughter, it cuts to Lizzy and Thad. Two characters who know her daughter.

Lizzy says that she won't tell Thad why they're wandering around outside (or who her secret friend is), because secrets are blackmail and she's a good friend.

Lizzy keeping a secret allows her to use it as blackmail.

The only secret we're introduced to this episode is Nori's secret. How she wants to keep her existence hidden from UZI.

Nori told Lizzy about what was going to happen and how she needed to find a way off planet in exchange for Lizzy keeping her existence a secret. She's bringing Thad with her because she's a good friend and isn't going to leave him to die.

She may be sending the image of N, V, and J's destroyed ship to Nori to inform her that their exit plan isn't going to work.

Nori WAS possessing (semi-possessing) Thad in Ep4

She escaped from the EJ core into Thad in Ep2. From Thad to Cabin Fever Labs by jumping down ( a one way trip). Made it back to Cabin Fever Labs proper to secure the patch for UZI, and was in the middle of searching for, or directly mining a way out when UZI, N, and Flesha arrive.

Thad was likely completely unware of all this, but Lizzy wasn't. That's why Glitch deliberately depicts her and Thad talking in every scene they are in together, even when everyone else is focused on UZI, N, and V.

At some point during Ep4 Nori gains control of Thad, (likely not for the first time as Lizzy would already be aware), steers him towards the CFL opening, exits his body having regrown her core inside his chest, and jumps down after using her solver to repair him.

Maybe Lizzy was texting a supremely confused Thad instructions on how to get home in this scene.

Is this theory correct? No.

kíli: foreigner’s god

he loves outside of his race and this fact causes undue scorn to be thrown at his feet. it’s unheard of for almost any dwarf, let alone one from the line of durin, to do such a thing. this does not deter him - it empowers him; if his heart could go against the traditions forged into his bones, molten in his hot blood, how could it not be true? the strength of his love is what helps him ignore the doubts shouted by the prejudice plaguing those who know nothing of his heart. that, and the sound of your laughter at his antics, the soft smiles only given to him when he’s being a little too charming… he could go on.

bilbo: like real people do

as much flack as bilbo gets from the company for not being conventionally tough, he’s not weak by any means. he’s familiar with the pain of loss, and how the ways one tries to rise above the grief that follows aren’t always savory. he knows there’s a respect to be found in the absence of prying questions, choosing simply to coexist in the feelings and allow answers to come in their own sweet time. he’ll put some tea on to cook and scrounge up some leftovers from the previous meal, sitting beside you and letting the comfort flow naturally, his soft lips soothing the most tender aches.

dwalin: work song

just looking at him, you wouldn’t think dwalin a sap. but with his insanely strong sense of loyalty and stalwart dedication, he can’t be anything but. he’s faced down innumerable evils in his time, braved the fiercest of storms that many of his comrades didn’t; none of them even come close to keeping him from you. your arms welcome him home without question after each fight he braves, and your letters tucked into secret compartments in his armor keep him warm between embraces. he’ll read them by the fire every night when he’s away, every gentle word carrying his mind away from thoughts of the day’s turmoil.

thorin: sedated

this sweet, sad man doesn’t think he deserves good things in life. this, unfortunately, includes having someone love him despite his flaws and past mistakes. he couldn’t resist admitting his feelings for you and was ridiculously shocked that you reciprocated & allowed him to love you. on nights when he feels his failures deeper, he’ll try to convince you that he doesn’t deserve you. vitriol will escape from worried lips and terrified heart, piercing you in the way only a lover knows how. a soft kiss, gentle words, and a few strokes through his hair will soothe these wounds from him for a time and allow him some of the peace he’s fought to find, but doesn’t always believe is earned.

nori: it will come back

it was decades since the last time nori thought of love, even longer since he believed himself worthy of it. meeting you only solidified his disbelief; how could someone look at him and see someone that deserved such a pure thing, after everything he’s done in his life? he’s stolen, lied, cheated, and killed to survive (and sometimes not for mere survival). his attempts to spurn you away from him only increased your determination to break through the fortress he built around himself. he could only be strong against your advances for so long before he crumbled, reluctantly accepting the love and peace and safety you offered so freely.

bofur: nobody

bofur’s done a lot in his time. he was born in the blue mountains, a colony that never seemed to find the prosperity needed to do more than simply survive. he is a brother, uncle, cousin, friend, toymaker, miner, member of the great company that reclaimed erebor. but through all his adventures and hardships, he never lost his playful streak. he wants to have fun with who he loves, wants a little bit of mischief to make his laugh louder and brighter. bofur is a fun-loving soul who, despite his wandering past, will always choose you over anywhere that you’re not.

ori: francesca

ori’s life has never been a peaceful one. being raised by dori and being followed by the whispers of his late amad’s reputation (not to mention nori’s) without a mountain to call home, it weighed on his shoulders. even his craft, the pride of every dwarrow worth their beard, happened to be one seen as miniscule in importance compared to smithing. every moment spent with his one, doing anything or nothing at all, eases the burden he carries and makes every moment of strife worth it just to be with the soul made to mirror his.

fíli: i, carrion (icarian)

your love for him seems almost too good to be true, the remnants of stories told in dusty tomes written by those with far more eloquence than he can claim to possess. that being said, he is definitely not one to look a gift boar in the mouth. he relishes in each tender moment, every second spent in your presence that carries him far beyond the constraints life has placed upon him. but he recognizes that life isn’t always so simple, retreating into your arms and wishing that everything around you both just disappears. there’s always reality, waiting patiently outside of your chambers for one faulty misstep to throw you both askew. that’s why he dedicates himself to showing you that if life does what it does best and deals harsh blows, he will be there for you through it all.

dori never had time for love; he had two brothers to protect, one more wily than the other was young. his focus was on getting his brothers through the days, putting food on their plates and the semi-frequently used stash of bail money well-stocked. he allowed his feelings for his one to fall to the wayside in the name of preservation. he ignored their call for decades and braved out the pain that came with such a silence. he begged for his one’s forgiveness every time they called for him. but once the mountain was reclaimed and his brothers safe, he yearned for what he could have had. he would approach his one with much regret and sorrow for the time lost, but a pure hope that they could find forgiveness in their heart for him.

tauriel: unknown/nth

to earn her love is a feat unlike that which the world has known for a long time. being seen as worth all these mortal struggles and painful toils in the eyes of an elf, let alone one as fierce as tauriel, is quite the achievement to anyone outside looking in. to the red-haired warrior in question, though, giving her love to you has the same unthinking ease as breathing; it’s beyond instinct to do and just as necessary to her survival. you’re worth every century spent alone, every moment after knowing you spent away from you.

♥ You of course did not hesitate to agree. You nodded your head eagerly, a joyful smile playing at your lips as you entertained the thought of seeing Sevika's place. It was so exciting! She was such a reserved and private person, you couldn't help but feel curious to learn more about her.

♥ "I think you'll really like it..." She says with a subtle smile, her harsh face softened by your company. You felt so special when you were with her. She treated you so well, and the idea of her trusting you, willing to be vulnerable, was beyond touching.

♥ She wasn't like this with anybody else. Nobody had ever made her feel this way. Only you.

♥ Her home was cozy and secluded. The Lanes certainly were not a place of comfort, but Sevika's place was inviting and warm. She needed somewhere to unwind and relax what with the overwhelming stresses of her life.

"This is Nori. Heard her mewing at night so I took her in." She glanced down at her cat and then back up at you with the same fondness. Her expression was bright, her smile warm. It was adorably uncharacteristic of her. "Thought you'd like her. You're nice and soft like she is."

♥ You couldn't control the surge of warmth you felt inside. Your heart fluttered. She thinks you're nice? Nice and soft? And oh my gosh, Sevika looked so adorable holding that cat so delicately. You knew she had a huge heart, but she didn't make it known to people. Seeing her like this was so attractive. Your attempts to hide your blush were futile, and you giggled to play it off.

♥ "Aww she is precious!" you beamed, overjoyed at such an endearing sight. Sevika carefully placed the cat in your lap. She smirked with a sense of pride as she admired you.

My reaction to episode 8!

Shh, spoilers below!!

I loved every second of everything that was there.

Nori and Uzi's conversation at the beginning was so sweet, albeit short. Bseeing that little happy face Uzi made at seeing her mom again... Man, she's been through so much and probably already thought she might have lost everyone else. So seeing the one drone she always believed was dead alive and ready to help Uzi kick some butts... Just look at her happy face.

Uzi's little laugh when Nori gave her "parental" advice is so sweet too. In all the years of her life, she never got that from her mom until now. And she finally got her mom back. It's so sweet.

Along with the shy smile and wave Uzi did, as if she's saying "Do I look good with the necklace?" And Nori responds with the cute emoticon on the stone.

Of course, that gets cut off my N RAMMING Uzi with the spaceship and oh my god, them.

LOOK AT HOW PROUD AND HAPPY HE LOOKS!! Plus, we got to see his little fangs!

And when he admits that he was mad about Uzi trying to sacrifice herself... Like, you can clearly see it in his expression and voice, he was really hurt by what she did, but also, he's happy that she's alive.

And honestly, I can't be the only one that when she first grabbed his face, I thought she was going for a kiss lol.

Their soft expressions, and Uzi's tiny "yay" oh my god they stole my heart.

The backstory we're getting between them too. So I guess both were aware on everything, but only V was the one that wanted to change but was too scared to.

The amount of backstory we're getting on J too here kinda breaks my heart and kinda makes me angry at her. The way she said "it tricked me too..." probably because she geniunly through Tessa would be alright and fine, just for her to be... not.

J is obviously heartbroken. But she feels like she has no other choice but to team up with the Solver, especially know that it is wearing Tessa's skin, that's the closest J can ever have something of her.

"You know there's no escape, even in death!"

That line makes me think as if J wanted to die at some point, but couldn't. There's so escape for her from the reality that Tessa is dead, because the Solver will always bring her back.

I imagine as Erebor is coming back to life, the duties of Prince start to become a little overwhelming for our dear Kili, who has been able to get away with being a scamp almost the entirety of his life. Thorin is unbelievably busy, but Bilbo will be damned if he can't pass on all the good manners and etiquette he was raised on. Well, some of the manners - Bilbo likes to consider himself a realist. So, with his mind set, Bilbo is going to host an Etiquette School for his new nephew. He, surprisingly, also gains a few other students. Fili, who just wants to watch his brother make an ass out of himself. Nori, who is curious to see if hobbit etiquette also showed how they can travel so quietly and possibly help him in his spy world. And then Bofur, who just wanted to see how everyone's day was going to play out - he had some guesses, but he wanted to see it for himself.

Bilbo : Alright, Kili! Don't forget that today's lesson is on patience.

Fili : Something you lack, nadadith ◡̈ *Kili scowls and throws a book at Fili who laughs*

Bilbo : Boys! Kili, that's not very patient, and Fili, that's not very helpful.

Fili : It's true though.

Things You Do Together- Thorin's Company

You love reading stories, as does Balin; thus, you often take turns each night reciting old wonders to each other, perhaps even the folk tales of your own culture. Sometimes he reaches over and turns the page for you as you get lost in the tale, imagining yourself in the characters' shoes or pondering the outcome of an unfamiliar suspenseful story.

Dwalin has a deep-down love for anything domestic, thus his heart goes out to you when you invite him to bake together. He loves being the first to try whatever you make, the way it becomes second nature to move around each other in the kitchen, even doing the tasks which are your least favorite part to lighten your load! If you truly are in private, he will tell you that you are the greatest treat of it all.

Thorin takes an interest in your interest. You’ve been whittling for some time, but one day you catch the king peeking over your shoulder and, giggling, invite him to join you. His carvings, though not expert, depict far more regal subjects than the simple sights of nature you attempt to capture, but both his traditional dwarven effigy and your merry robin sit atop the same shelf together at completion.

Gardening is something Oin joins you in once you get settled, whether it’s potting plants within the great mountain itself or finding a patch outside of Dale. Such is a perfect activity for him to start an herb garden and help you keep up tending the soil. He knows a slew of tricks to keep it healthy and makes even tasks like weeding more enjoyable with his company.

Gloin teaches you every tavern game in the book and all the ways they try to throw them, too. So proud is he as you start out-gaming even the older members of the company, remembering all the tells Gloin spilled to you and imitated, making you laugh nonstop! You always tell him that no matter what, though, he is your favorite to play with, teasingly supposing he just throws the dice the best.

Bifur teaches you how to polish stones, even cut them yourself. The process is quite difficult at first, but seeing the way your eyes lit up at your craft was worth it. You keep a box to house most of your stone collection, but a few of the cut ones that turned out well seem to go missing until Bifur surprises you with jewelry made from them!

A lover of music, Bofur is over the moon teaching you how to play his flute or otherwise learning a new instrument with you! You get a laugh at how the sour notes of learning sound and even play wrong on purpose just for the joke. Progress makes him proud, though, and he always says you two could be in a band in no time!

Bombur loves building things for the children, the sight never failing to bring a smile to your face. You join him in repair of their roundabout, a bit awed at the confidence with which the quiet dwarf works. Once the children arrive and he lights up, you smile and rest a loving hand upon his shoulder- you can see exactly from where he derives his strength and focus.

Dori learns to crochet with you, having seen his brother do something similar. But with you, you make little dolls, trinkets that remind him of his toymaker friends. More than that, though, he adores more intricate patterns. They may be more difficult, but all the more beautiful if he can actually manage them! Gushes over your work even if he thinks his isn’t good.

Typically Nori hides the fact that his eldest brother forced him to learn to sew, planning to take that fact to his grave, but one day the gears turn within his mind. He could make you something rather fetching, after all. Suddenly you become his real-life model as he chooses the cut and color he’s always wanted to see you in, barely able to keep his hands off you during the pinning.

Ori would love learning languages with you, whether they are native tongues to you or you pair learning together, creating a bond and a secret way to talk just the two of you. He especially loves learning a new character system to write in, it's like a code! Soon you two are always passing messages back and forth, chatting about anything you want unabashedly, and giggling to each other.

If you delight in dancing, Fili adores learning every move with you, hands taking yours or sliding over your hips with a teasing wiggle of his eyebrows. His blue eyes will be locked on yours with every move, even if the steps require you to separate his gaze will search for you again.

Kili is fascinated by your writing. The fact that tales spring into your mind upon the hearing of a song or even endurance of pain amazes him beyond all else. Sometimes he puts a hand on either side of your head and says he wants to absorb your thoughts with a teasing smile. Kili has endless questions, though, about your stories, truly your biggest fan and supporter hanging on the edge of your every word.

Reading maps. Bilbo has countless in his study, old and new, that he likes to pore over and scour for new details. You join him out of natural curiosity one day, but as his hands pass over the delicately drawn features you find yourself falling in love. Well, and with the maps, too. It is amazing to think how far you both have traveled in your days when you see the whole world lain before you.

I hate hot food. For many reasons. I know a lot of Argonian meals are served cool/cold, but do the other races have meals intended to be the same way?

While not particularly common in some Provinces, chilled dishes can be found across Tamriel and are the perfect refreshment when hot food feels a little too weighty.

Altmer

Probably the Tamrielic masters of cold dishes, the High Elves are probably best known for their cold raw seafood dishes. Fresh fish, prawns, squid, octopus, sea urchin, and much more are sliced with a deft hand and served with wasabi and saltrice sauce. Sometimes, the seafood is placed atop rice and wrapped with a thin slice of nori to hold it together. While the idea of eating cold raw fish may not appeal to many, it's one of my favourite foods in Tamriel.

Argonians

Keeping clay or metal vessels submerged in water is an age-old Argonian technique of keeping their food cool, which is an absolute must in the hot and muggy climate of Black Marsh. Cold swamp jelly and seafood salad topped with grilled prawns and chilled marinated snails is a customary dish offered to visitors, and it's delightfully refreshing! The swamp jelly doesn't taste of much, but its soft, jelly-like texture complements the crunch of the seaweed.

Bosmer

Cold food isn't much of a thing for the Wood Elves, but one exception jumps to mind: the humble cottage cheese dip. Cottage cheese made from timber mammoth milk is aged in caves for two days, seasoned, and kept chilled. The dip is served cold with dried cured meats to dip with. It's not terribly exciting, but there's nothing quite as satisfying as eating meat and cheese in one bite!

Bretons

Chilled soufflés are all the rage in High Rock, and require lots of patience (and swearing) to master. Both sweet and savoury soufflés are served in this manner, from orange liqueur to parmesan and rosemary. My personal favourite is the chilled chili chocolate soufflé from the Rosy Lion in Daggerfall, part of their seasonal menu. The combination of rich dark cocoa with a touch of Alik'r spices is out of Nirn!

Dunmer

Chilled foods aren't an integral part of Dunmeri gastronomic culture, but certain Houses, namely the Telvanni, Hlaalu, and Redorans, do enjoy them. A Telvanni specialty is a cold chicken salad, where the chicken is marinated overnight in a blend of matcha, fire fern, saltrice sauce, and secret spices. It grilled and shredded, and served cold with hackle-lo leaves and gold kanet seeds atop steamed saltrice. However, don't let appearances fool you; any Telvanni with cold chicken salad leftovers can probably be found gobbling it at midnight straight from the cold cellar.

Imperials

The Gold Coast is famous for its chilled seafood soup, made with a creamy tomato and fish stock base, and loaded with all manner of fish and shellfish. While the hot variant from Bruma is more popular in colder climes, the cold seafood soup is a delightfully refreshing meal when beating the summer heat, especially when served with a mojito on the side.

Khajiit

If there's an excuse to make a food cold, the Khajiit will find it, and for good reason: the Deadlands-like heat of Elsweyr. Cold vegetable curries are a notable mention. Three or four small bowls of different curries, from mild okra to spicy potato, are served with moon sugar, saffron rice or tandoor flatbreads, and are meant to be eaten with your hands. I must say, though, that there's a rather jarring contrast between the cold curry and the searing heat you get from biting into a bird's eye chili.

Nords

Unlike the Khajiit, Nords look for any excuse to make food hot, with a couple of exceptions. Cold smoked salmon, mudcrab, or trout with dark rye bread is one of them. This rustic lunch dish is served with chilled horseradish cream, goat cheese, and fish roe topping, and is the perfect meal for when you want something filling that won't send you straight to sleep.

Orcs

Glass noodle salad is an Orcish delicacy said to have originated in Wrothgar in the early Second Era. The noodles, made from sweet potato starch, are thick and chewy, and are served chilled. To turn it into a salad, simply throw in some cold shredded daikon radish and carrots, sweet frost mirriam vinegar, peas, cold rare beef tongue slices, and fried chorizo. Easy and delicious, while packing lots of flavour!

Redguards

Cold foods are a welcome treat in Hammerfell, where the searing heat can be just as unbearable as Elsweyr's. Cold, pulled goat in a chilled tomato and harissa-based stew is eaten as a soup, and is a filling meal when mixed with bulgur or cous-cous. While it may sound and look a little like last night's disappointing leftovers, one bite of this on a Midyear day in the Alik'r will have you moaning with delight.

OMGOMGOMGKFMSGSKB IM FREAKING OUT IT'S HERE!!! MURDER DRONES EPISODE 7 TEASER!! EEEEEE!!! I went frame by frame and picked out some cool scenes I wanted to scream about, so get ready for a bunch of crazed ramblings and some theories !! (Long post ahead, folks)

Okay first of all- just- the lighting in these shots ✨ simply gorgeous... Also that "poster" thing in the background of the first image is very interesting.. obviously it says HELP (though that looks scrawled-on afterward with probably blood), and it looks like there could be possibly eyes? EDIT: it's not eyes it's two drones standing !!!

OKAY NEXT-

This thing. What is this thing. Probably part of the Solver, as it's all organic and eldritch-y, and it has veins. It looks lit from behind, almost like we're looking out from the inside of something? I think it's possible somebody gets dragged into one of those physical manifestations of the Solver, and this could be their perspective from inside it! Oooor we're looking at it from the outside, and there's something glowing inside the mass.

Next up, these guys??? So many possibilities here... They look like humans, but they aren't necessarily so, just like the "Tessa Isn't Human" theory. And from what little you can see in the teaser, they are moving in an odd way- suspicious. I originally thought they could be manifestation of the Solver or something, created to confuse, but after considering it for a bit, I realized it's more likely this scene is a flashback to when the core collapsed.

OMGOMGOGMOGMOMG YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HYPED I WAS WHEN I SAW THIS- WE'RE GETTING MURDER N YALL!!! FIRST TIME SINCE THE PILOT EEEE!!! Oh my gosh I just KNOW it's going to be an emotional response to something horrible happening- something to do with Uzi getting fully possessed, or almost dying, or N THINKING she's dead, or just all the stress of EVERYTHING, along with V's (hopefully not actually) death, and it just pushes him to his breaking point OH AND all the repressing he's been doing this whole time WILL NOT BE HELPING WITH THAT !!! I'm SO EXCITED TO FIND OUT AAAA-

Oh it could also be that N gets factory-reset, causing him to actually lose his memories or something, which is AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PILE OF ANGST, but personally I hope/think it'll be closer to the first one... It seems very likely to me that all of the stuff N's been going through (and how he's just been pretending everything's fine) would catch up to him, and it would lead to an "outburst" of everything he's been bottling up. PLUS do y'all remember that merch ad?? I know it was just a promo, but merch stuff has been shown to be kind of relevant to the plot in the past soo... yeah I'm feeling very good about this theory-

Okay so this is the same guy from the earlier image with all the humans- That feels notable, like they're going to be important. And is it just me and my poor video quality or does the Sentinel hand look glitchy?? Could it have turned on the humans like the one that turned on "Tessa" in Cabin Fever??
