happy lesbian visibility day to all the lesbians who stumble across this message! you are all so beautiful, handsome, special and valid 💗 it’s not easy to wander around in this world without having absolutely none of the cismale privileges and everyday is a struggle to some of us, and i’m so incredibly happy to know that i’m part of such a strong community, makes me proud to be a lesbian every day!
i hope each and every one of you still find the strength and courage to express yourselves the way you want to, to love anyone without being afraid, and that all of you feel welcome and valid in our community. thank you femme lesbians, butch lesbians, studs, stems, trans and cisgender lesbians, fat and disabled lesbians, latin and black lesbians, and many more of us that fill our community with diversity and culture. i love you all endlessly 💗

There’s a stereotype and joke that “gay people can’t do math”, or inversely, that queer people are amazing at English and other humanities. Mostly this seems to be said by queer people, not straight and cis people. But that doesn’t mean it’s not kind of icky.
I think this stems from the idea that maths (and other related subjects) is cold and logical, and inversely, that humanities subjects like English are sensitive and subtle.
Queerness is thought of as something sensitive and subtle, and not something cold and logical. And people seem to think that accepting queer people (or being queer) means you’re sensitive and good at understanding others’ feelings, and so on, and not necessarily logical.
In reality, queerness is entirely logical and objectively true. Homophobia and transphobia aren’t just a case of being overly logical or insensitive - they’re a case of being biased, they’re a case of being cruel.
But because some queer people seem to believe on some level that accepting their identity requires amazing emotional skills and minimal logic, they sort of separate themselves from things that they see as so objective and cold - maths and STEM subjects.
It’s not great, is it?
That is why I do not like “gays can’t do math” jokes.

Just a reminder that trans people, you aren't betraying anybody by transitioning. You aren't disappointing women, or men, or whomever because you have decided to transition. This is a personal decision, and if somebody put so much stake into your gender that they feel betrayed by you when they were wrong, that is (frankly) not your problem.
You aren't betraying anybody.

study participants needed!
UPDATE: thank you everyone that's taken part :) the study has now closed, we got over 200 participants!! thank you so much
Hi, I'm a second year psychology student doing research on how queer people view others within the LGBTQ+ community.
Its just a short task and survey that should take 5-10minutes to complete, any participation is appreciated! Thank you!

Extra clarrification on some things under the cut :)
In this study we use the words "(gender) conforming" to mean anyone thats not part of the LGBTQ+ community and "(gender)non-conforming" for anyone that is. This was suggested to help us code the results better, but we now know that this may have overcomplicated things.
The first part of the study involves an IAT, for some people they will be put into the "positive, conforming" conditioin first and others will be the "positive, nonconforming" first. It may seem scewed, and some people have bought up that it can seem bias, but that is just how this type of test works- it has been used and tested in many other studies and has not shown internal bias.
These are the main two points people have bought up, feel free to ask any other questions about this research though I will be happy to try and answer as much as I can :)

wait wait so speaking in terms of the eng translation, everyone in the cast uses they/them for mizuki?? or do people typically switch between the two??? the pronoun discourse when it came to mizuki (when it was really big a while back) stressed me tf out but i'd like to make sure i'm getting it right this time about what pronouns to use if that's ok
everyone uses they/them for mizuki on EN. There's old dialogue that uses she/her (I think all of it's from Kanade), but they stopped doing that very early on. The general consensus in the fandom nowadays is she/her though, due to it better aligning with how her story and gender is portrayed.
