About the Leftöver Crack song “Shooticide” & its inspiration by Stza Crack
When I was 12, my step-father killed himself & the news was broken to me by an NYPD officer that was just inside of the apartment door when I got home from school. I was shocked, saddened & surprised. It felt like an ambush & they had no business being in our home. It was not a crime scene & was it the officers place to tell me this news when my mom was already there?
Growing up a block from Bellevue hospital, I saw police corruption, brutality & the victims of their violence up close all of the time & although I was “taught” that the police were there only to help us, as I grew, I soon learned to only loathe & fear them.
In 2014, with the public's access to video camera's on their smart-phones & with the advent & simplification of social media posting, holding police accountable for murdering people seemed to almost become a reality when news coverage momentarily shifted from the police departments “official” stories to the documented stories of civilian eye-witnesses. The evident & widespread abuse of police power & their flagrant lack of respect for human life started to trend until it was part of mainstream media & and unavoidable national conversation.
Then, all of a sudden, the "fad" waned, the media moved on to something else & nothing changed at all. Mandatory body cameras were either not worn or routinely shut off &/or "broken" at critical moments during confrontations with often unarmed black individuals many of whom were not even suspects in any crime.
With the botched “no-knock” raid that left Breonna Taylor murdered that March in Kentucky to the surfacing of footage of Sandra Bland’s arrest in Texas years earlier that led most people to the conclusion that she was murdered by the same police that had her detained illegally in a jail cell, by the time that George Floyd was murdered in Minneapolis, the people witnessing his mistreatment knew what to do & their film proved what most of us already knew, that the police were cruel & sadistic, but, as filming police violations became the norm & police started going on public trials for murder, the disturbing trend became more & more evident: the police were not only poorly trained & often racially motivated, but, time & time again, they explained that they were "scared". Now, this could seem like a "strategy" to get a police officer out of a murder charge, but, in the wake of the Uvalde school shooting & in light of the evacuations of their own precincts during national anti-police protests in major cities like Minneapolis & Seattle, even leaving behind guns, ammo & prisoners without food or water, a veritable checklist of state-irresponsibility, it became painfully obvious that police were very rarely "heroic" & almost always cowards.
Shooticide is about how the police in America have undermined their own authority by "outing" themselves as terrified of just about everything & that the farce of the slogan "to protect & serve" only applies to themselves & that 9 times out of 10, when they have their guns drawn, they are all pissing themselves in panic & afraid of their own shadows. Emptying their clips & their bladders simultaneously.
That's why "Defunding" the police is such an ill conceived idea (besides the fact that one vowel changed turns that slogan into “Defend the Police”, coincidence? Nobody’s that stupid, not even the cops), when these officers are so badly trained, less money means even less training. We believe that fundamentally, in its wide-spread corruption & systemic racism, policing needs to be abolished & people need to figure out a way to elect folks from their own communities to actually keep "the peace" instead of sowing chaos & fear through corruption & violence. The war on drugs needs to be suspended & condemned. And the judicial system needs to be reimagined & not as the even less equitable, zero tolerance of the cancel culture that is an essentially fascist style of moral policing that relies entirely on one person’s own testimony while ignoring any & all forensic evidence & the testimony of the only other witness present. Corruption & injustice collide with social media & the back lash of moral outrage & misinformation that used to set the dissenting & bigoted right apart from logical thinkers, but is now reserved for leftist activists in a political ruse to destroy us & our goals.
These are the themes in the song lyrics of “Shooticide”.

Still haven't caught sight of Drag Strip's or Wildrider's names, but that's three out of five components of Menasor who show up in the race alone.

I may have made an impulse purchase...and I do *not* regret it one bit!
(Edit: MeteorBricks is the shop! You can find 'em here or here!)
BEHOLD!
Tumblr media
TEH CUTES!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No, seriously, they are absolutely fucking adorable, and building them was an amazing way to wind down (and the buzzing in my brain quieted, too.)
The instructions are pretty simple, tho a couple of spots I had to start segregating the bricks bc either the colors were too similar, or I thought I was missing a piece.
Details under Cut, in order of build!
Valere!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She was the easiest to put together. Not too many similar brick colors so no confusion, and very simple! Set the stage for the boys!
.
Zale!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's my Boy!!! :D His hair is *messy* and I was giggling through placing every piece. His bangs are on a pivoting piece, too!
He was slightly complicated bc there were 2 yellows, an orange, and a tan that all washed out while using the instruction manual on my phone. Thankfully, each color for the flat 1x2s all were of different quantities (and the instructions had word descriptions and clear markings of which one you needed), so just had to separate and count to verify what went where. If you decide on a Zale of your own, separate and count the flat 1x2s.
.
Garl!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bestest Boy!!!
It goes without saying that he gets the most pics! He was also the most complicated, as well as the one that I nearly had a panic attack that I was missing a piece! (My fault bc at this point I was so excited that I didn't look at the step piece list; and in the mini build pic, the 3d model blurred the edges of two pieces, making it look like one and of course I couldn't find it bc it didn't *exist*!)
His hair lifts up and down, and his backpack not only opens, it will hold the 2 extra items you get with him! I remembered the apple in the listing, but not the sandwich or cherries, so it was a nice surprise!

Doing BG3 co-op with @frxstguardian, and here are some early scenes with our Tavs! They're adventurers, they're friends, they love shiny things, everyone else is in fantasy peril and they're living in a sitcom.

I’m curious, what is everyone’s take on nations being born? Do they just appear out of thin air like canon suggests? Do they birth or sire them themselves? Or are they born from humans, it being a long standing(or old depending on the time period ig) fear for parents finding out their newborn is a semi-immortal representation of their kingdom/empire/country to be?
I like all three theories depending on the narrative at play but I’m leaning towards the last one because it sounds cool now that I actually put it into words lol

thinkin about...digital friendships and how you still learn your friends' mannerisms even if you've never seen their faces or heard their voices. like knowing when someone is on their phone and not their computer based on their capitalization or autocorrect. or being able to tell where someone is based on when they reply. leaving asynchronous messages for a friend to read after work. adopting each other's phrases. forming a secondary language together through emote reacts or tag systems. calling each other screen names even when you've learned their in-person name. slowly learning schedules to make digital plans more efficiently than almost anyone does in real life. idk it's just got me misty-eyed that friends in your phone really are friends in your phone!! they're right there!! they're just right there chillin and they've got their own lives but somehow your paths crossed and changed something about you forever, miles and miles away

OK, taking a look around the distillery, the Waning Moon. Further reminders that this used to be a Selunite settlement before the darkness rolled in. (Headcanonically, it's just Karlach, Shadowheart, and Gale doing the searching around here, as Hector has wandered outside to be violently ill after his drinking contest with Thisobald. Mechanically I can't actually leave him outside because there are a lot of locked chests. XD )
Some of the more interesting bits to discover:
Thisobald's exploded corpse for looting, which got us a bunch of wine for camp supplies and a key that opens a nearby door.
Behind the aforementioned door is a special distillery area where Thisobald was apparently attempting to create a new kind of toxin. We got the recipe for it and can create it ourselves if we can find a local shipment of "corpse roses" although I'm not sure how much I care since I haven't engaged with the alchemy mechanics in the game at all.
Most of the other loot is also alchemical supplies, although we did find a club that grants extra damage when used while drunk. XD
Found the ledger that He Who Was wanted, written by the dead distiller, Madeline, who he wants to punish. It is labeled "For the Attention of Justiciar Netasha" and contains long lists of names of townsfolk who said anything bad about the Thorm Regime or members of the family during their takeover (including a plea to go easy on one set of names, since they are Madeline's best friends - a plea which, it seems, was ignored by the justiciar).
Hector may hate quite a lot of what he's been through on this adventure, but this place is making him realize that being a villager in this area a hundred years ago might quite possibly have been even worse. And...perhaps it's not entirely to his credit, but he's a little more inclined to listen to He Who Was and participate in further punishing Madeline. The amount of cruelty he's seen, both recorded and in person, towards Selunites in this place is still infuriating him, even though the really explosive anger has calmed.
