i don’t mean to sound crazy but it’s starting to become clear to me that a lot of the the straw hats’ gags stem from some sort of childhood trauma. so far i personally know that
- nami’s greedy gag comes from her being poor and needing to steal to save her village since she was a young girl
- luffy being greedy and a fast eater seems to stem from living with the mountain bandits and ace and sabo. aka, if you don’t eat fast enough/snatch what you want you’ll go hungry
- sanji’s love and strange respect for women stems not only from zeff, but also from the fact that only the women in his life were nice to him growing up (his mother and reiju)
- usopp being a liar stems from lying about his father coming back to cheer up his sick mother
so does this mean we will eventually figure out where zoro constantly getting lost comes from?
