Still thinking about Gortash’s coronation and how smoothly he cuts a Durge off from their companions (and wishing we had a follow up with that)

The first words out of his mouth are that he cares about them- anybody else who remembers Durge has only distain for them, but not him- he’s happy to see them, he missed them, they’re his favorite assassin and he’s only glad to see them alive

And then he takes it a step further by providing insight into their past, something Ketheric refused to do for them- and Gortash isn’t dumb. He knows exactly how Durge’s companions will react, knows that he’s effectively outing Durge when he so easily could have pulled them to the side instead

And when their companions snap at them and refuse to look at them, Gortash is still smiling. Suddenly, he’s the nicest person in the room. Suddenly, everything is unstable and dangerous- but he likes you. He’s sitting there with open arms while the companions are rightfully so mad with Durge, but Gortash is more than happy to resume their alliance

He’s more than happy to be their sole source of comfort again, and isn’t he just so sweet for that?

i had an idea for an art server which is making a list of adjectives and nouns and randomizing them to do weekly/biweekly prompts cause i love those sort of things, would anyone be interested? like for example the prompt could be "evil shepherd" and then you can draw something inspired by that

Something I really like is that April’s constant stream of odd jobs she goes through is somewhat reflected in the boys as well. Like, you have April working at random pizza places or getting a crane license or being fully willing to apply for a job at a place clearly made out of cardboard. Then you have the boys as well who do anything from working as a basketball mascot, building a massive dog park, being waiters, getting a whole band gig at a theme park, etc, etc-

Main difference is that April actively applies for these jobs (and is hopefully paid for the short time she’s in them) whereas for the bros the jobs usually find them (and they practically never get paid.) It doesn’t even stop at jobs either, they just seem to casually amass skills in general.

I don’t know, I like how both April and the turtles are just so ready and willing to do things. Sure, they’re not always good at these things, but they do them readily! In a way, being heroes is just another job (well, more like volunteer work/vigilantism/another fun activity) that they initially took on because of their general sense of “why not?”

They’re very willing and open to trying out new things despite their tendency to revert back to what they enjoy (and how commonly trying new things ends up going wrong), and I think that adaptational interest of theirs really helps them be well rounded in multiple regards.

I kinda hope Braius gets an origin comic or a short story or something, cause I think the implications of what we know about him are really fascinating.

He's a religious refugee from the Kryn Dynasty. Maybe there's a whole sect of Kryn Platinum Dragon worshipers with their own religious rites and traditions, which could perhaps clash interestingly with Platinum Dragon worshipers in the Empire. Braius mentions the Empire's xenophobia when he's talking to Jester about what happened to him and his family- it's easy to imagine factions in the church had varying feelings on taking in refugees in the first place, and how that might have contributed to him gaining his job at a young age and then losing it and everything over a fairly minor fuck up.

This is pure speculation in that I don't actually think anything in the campaign implies specifically this (I don't think anything contradicts it either, so), but imagine Braius got promoted to head of security at a very young age as a gesture of goodwill towards a refugee population that maybe feels a bit mistreated. A gesture that's kind of empty, because they maybe specifically chose a very young man who would be easy to keep under church leadership's thumb and not actually have the confidence or experience to leverage any power granted by his station to any great effect on behalf of the other refugees. And when a very minor fuckup happens, people within that leadership who didn't ever want refugees there take the opportunity to blow it out of the water and get rid of a few undesirables.

I think the choice to make Braius a religious refugee explicitly subject to xenophobia in the land his family fled to is so fucking interesting for shit that's almost certainly not gonna get explored in any depth in game. It really ads a lot of color and texture to the God Debates if you let it percolate in your brain a little bit.

I just think he's neat. :]

my Stephanie Brown hot take is that she should get mad bitches now that she's single in comics. Yes yes shipping BUT the one time she had sex she was punished by the narrative via teen pregnancy. I think she should be allowed to have as much sex as she wants with zero consequences. Could be a lot of sex, could be a little. Point is she should get to do it without getting narratively baby trapped this time. she should get them pregnant, actually.
