I love that in this scene (ep 9) Dean once again defends Cas to Ezekiel/Gadriel. Ezekiel/Gadriel asking Dean what he’s going to do about Cas being around them and Dean gets pissed off. He says that Cas is the one that the angels are after and yet he’s fighting. He wonders what Ezekiel/Gadriel is afraid of. Cas has been on earth for like 6 years and I’m happy to see him understanding human things. He could tell that every time Sam brought up Cas leaving the bunker Dean changed the subject and Cas waited until he was alone with Dean to ask him about that. He understands that Dean changing the subject meant there was something Dean didn’t want to talk about with Sam in the room. Back in season 4 Cas wouldn’t have understood that and probably would’ve said something at the wrong time. Then the fact that Cas knew that Dean is in a tough situation and even though he wants to be around Dean he knew he had to listen to Dean.

I’m pretty much just adding this part because Cas looks amazing. I don’t like that he’s being tortured and that he has blood on him but I love seeing him half naked. I will say there was soooo many missed opportunities with human Cas. I would’ve loved to seen Dean teaching Cas to cook or to shave or even something stupid like tieing his shoelaces. In my opinion they didn’t think this storyline completely out. There’s a few things that happened that don’t make sense. Like how did that angel (April I think her name was) find Cas since he had the tattoo?

In ep 9 Dean tells Cas they have to stay away from each other and at the end of that ep Cas says he should stay away from Dean and the very next ep (ep 10) Dean calls Cas for help and Cas comes right away. I would love to know what happened to Cas tie. He obviously magics up his suit and trench coat considering when he got out of purgatory he was still wearing the clothes he got from the mental hospital then when he came out of the bathroom he had his suit on so where is his tie now? I also love how Dean is looking at Cas here. He obviously loves looking at Cas in his suit (the ep where Cas gets out of purgatory proves that) and Cas is letting Dean look.

This scene is hilarious. There’s an angel, a human and the king of hell and the human takes over. It’s Cas car (I’d love to know how Cas learned to drive) yet Dean just goes directly to the drivers side and tells Crowley to get in the back which he listens to Dean (at that point Crowley is handcuffed so he doesn’t have powers) and tells Cas to get in the back with Crowley and Cas listens to him. Cas and Dean will literally do anything the other asks them to do. Another cute thing I noticed Crowley said to Cas riddle me this boy wonder. Riddle me this is what the Riddler says and he is a villain so obviously Crowley is calling himself a villain (he’s the king of hell obviously he’s a villain) but Dean is in the scene and Jensen has voiced Batman a few times. Boy wonder is Robin which is Batmans sidekick so Crowley is calling Cas Deans sidekick.

Dean finally apologizes to Cas for not telling him about Gadriel possessing Sam snd kicking Cas out of the bunker and I love that Cas completely understood what was going on and that Dean really thought Sams life was in danger. This scene also had my second favourite quote so far in the show Dean says we’re dumbasses and Cas says I prefer the word trusting less dumb less ass.

This scene is interesting. Pretty much since Cas and Dean have known each other Dean says whatever he wants to to Cas without any fear that Cas will hurt him because he knows he’s the one person Cas won’t hurt. Cas gets pissed off when he finds out the angel possessing Sam is Gadriel and that Gadriel is the reason for all the bad stuff that has happened to earth and Dean clearly knows that Cas is pissed off because he puts his hands up. To me he is showing Cas that he knows that Cas is an extremely strong angel even with his stolen grace (at this point at least) and can kill anyone if he wants to and right now Cas wants to kill Gadriel but Dean knows he has to calm Cas down so they can get Gadriel out of Sam.

To me (ep11) this shows how much Dean trusts Cas. Crowley is trying to look at the journal but Dean pulls it away from him. Back in season 8 Cas was picking through Deans stuff and looking through the journal and Dean didn’t care. Even in the scene when Naomi comes to Dean and Dean says he doesn’t trust angels which means I don’t trust you. Obviously that scene was about Dean not putting the signs on the boat so Cas would be able to come back to him but it does show Cas is the exception to that rule. Plus in the ep before this Dean was willing to let Cas possess Sam to get Gadriel out. He knows how much trouble letting Gadriel possess Sam made but Cas is the one angel he trusts would get Gadriel out and wouldn’t hurt Sam in the process.

I love that here Cas is trying to defend Dean to Sam. I don’t think Sam understands that Dean lied to Cas too but Cas got over it.

I love how honest Cas is. He’s always been truthful about how much he doesn’t like Sam. Cas has said that he doesn’t like the sound of Sams voice and other such things. I found it interesting that Cas said that before he became human he would’ve pushed the needle into Sams neck and killed him because the ends always justifies the means but now that he’s had human emotions he no longer feels that way. I find it interesting because even before Cas was human Cas would never do something like that to Dean. He didn’t need human emotions to feel like that for Dean. I personally don’t see Cas and Sam as friends I see them as putting up with each other for Dean. I do think that them spending that time together did help them not to become friends but to understand each other better and be able to be around each other if Deans not around.

Relations and notes?

For Auzidynes, Queens mean female and subjects mean male. Queens distinctively have dual brains while subjects have one. Alexandra is the Paradigm of the Auzidyne Order of have species and humans, which means ruler. Malevolence, Vermicula and Verdant are generals of different departments. Malevolence is the general of Power hypnosis and distribution, the cruelest of them all. Vermicula is blind but is the general of bio-weaponry. Verdant is a strategist that commands human forces against the TFC.

Can we say the Mia and Phoenix are rivals? Sure but why aren’t they in the Auzidyne Order anymore? How did Phoenix become a Supersoldier?

Jordan appears much later in the storyline but plays a rather enormous role, no pun intended. She holding a holographic projection of Vesperia to the Vesperian chieftain herself named Nevaeh? But why?

Jayson is Nevaeh’s son and although Beri is in the TFC, she’s Svr. Fidelis’s guard, she adores Jayson so much.

Tabby is the main protagonist and co-guardian alongside Ezekiel over Amaryllis (guardians as in protectors, why would an engineer like Amaryllis need two guardians?). Also the reptilian avatar of Tabby is unveiling itself as well as her capabilities, which looks like a clock?

Gordon is a technician and estranged spouse of Amaryllis. Mariballe is Amaryllis’s sister, who is curious of what’s happening with Tabby but Mariballe is the guardian of Anemone, who is the TFC universal leader of all races. Why is she looking at Ezekiel like that?

I’d say the most curious characters are Malleus the preacher and Oliver, the Auzidyne standing above him. Malleus doesn’t appear intimidated but… doesn’t really trust Oliver either.

There’ll be a post-3rd season group picture followed by post-series finale group picture depending on the storyline progression and how it concerns my in real life situations.

Title: And the Reunion of Trust

Description: So @jacobstone asked me to write a fic based off their prompt which you can find by clicking here in this general area. It was such a good post and I just could not resist!! I love delving deeper into this whole Magic Deal thing between Cassandra and Jacob. I really hope y’all enjoy! also bad title is bad, lmao sorry guys

Cassandra watched in glee as the crystal lifted from the ice block and rose, and rose, and rose until it was gone in a blur, shooting off to the side. She didn’t know where it was or what had happened to it until she saw Jacob, standing near the exit to the cave, fly backwards and collide with the wall behind him. She screamed.

“Jacob!”

She raced over to him and crouched down next to him, hands patting uselessly at his chest, trying to find the wound that her brain was already going into overdrive with ways to fix. She was thinking of spells she knew, artifacts she could quickly get her hands on back at home, and just simple, everyday medical procedures she remembered from her days in the hospital, both as a patient and a worker.

When she quickly realized there was no gaping hole in his chest, Cassandra leaned away from him with a frown as he peeled himself away from the wall, rubbing the back of his head where he had smacked it.

“I don’t…I don’t understand. What happened?” Cassandra stammered. “Where did the-?”

Then Jacob’s chest began to glow, barely visible beneath his heavy jacket, but still there. Cassandra’s mouth popped open in surprise as Jacob’s eyes widened, and he began to hit at his chest. “No, no, no, no, no! Do not tell me that damn thing is inside of me.” He met Cassandra’s eyes. “Cassie, tell me a magical crystal did not just embed itself inside my chest!”

Cassandra shook her head, completely unable to lie to him. “I-I don’t think I can.”

“Get it out!” He was nearly shouting now, grabbing her hands in a tight grip in an almost pleading gesture. “Get it out! What is it going to do? You can get it out, right?”

Cassandra’s mouth opened and closed quickly, but she was unable to answer. “I-I don’t know, m-maybe Jenkins-?”

“Then let’s go,” Jacob snapped, getting to his feet. He began to pick up his supplies, bunching them up underneath his arm. Cassandra could just barely see the way his hands were shaking. A bruise was blossoming on his cheek; she’d nearly forgotten about the man who’d attacked them.

She raced over to him and grabbed his arm, bringing him to a halt. He was breathing harshly, shoulders rising and falling with each breath. “Jacob, you need to stop and think. What about the blizzard? What about that man; what happened to him?”

Jacob shrugged her off him, heading towards the exit. “He’s gone. We don’t need to worry about him. And the storm will be fine; we’ve been through worse.”

Cassandra watched helplessly as he disappeared from her sight. She sighed, grabbing her book from the ice tomb, and followed him out into the storm.

“Look, there!” Jacob shouted over the howling wind. He lifted up his arm, pointing out ahead of them. Cassandra could barely make out a tall cabin structure through the white sheet of snow that was falling all around them. “Let’s get over there! Maybe they have a phone we can use to call Jenkins.”

Cassandra followed his lead, crossing her arms tightly over her chest.

When they reached the cabin, they pushed through the front doors and began to shed their winter clothes, hanging them politely. Ahead of them, Cassandra could hear loud voices and even some crashing sounds. She glanced at Jacob, a little worried.

He didn’t look back and instead said, “C’mon, let’s just get the hell outta here as quick as possible.”

Cassandra sighed and followed him. She kept the goggles with her, fiddling with them in her hands. When they exited the front hall and into the main part of the lodge, she lifted them to her eyes, glancing around, and then nearly screamed. Instead, she held her tongue and stumbled backwards, catching Jacob’s arm with her hand.

He sighed, frustrated. “What is it?”

Cassandra shoved the goggles onto his face. She expected him to pull back just as startled as she was, but instead, he just pushed them away from his face. She smacked him on the arm. “Come on, we need to get out of here! These are monsters! They’re probably going to kill us.”

Jacob snorted, but he had a dangerous look in his eyes - a reckless look. He glacned at her. “But maybe they can help get this damn thing out of my chest. They’re obviously here for a reason; maybe this thing is that reason. They could help me.”

Cassandra’s eyes were wide, and when she spoke, she could barely get her words out. “W-What are - are you insane? I-I can’t believe - why would you - I can help you!”

Jacob scoffed. “Sure. Just like you got the crystal out, right?” He stepped away from her. “I’ll take my chances with the messed-up faces over here.” He raised his hands and cupped them over his mouth, taking a deep breath. “Does anybody here know how to extract a-!”

He was cut off by Cassandra’s hand slapping over his mouth. She laughed awkwardly at the people who Jacob had attracted the attention of and shrugged helplessly at them. A majority of them were narrowing their eyes at them with suspicious faces.

Cassandra latched onto the back of Jacob’s shirt and tugged him away from all the people. She opened the nearest door she found and threw him into it, closing it behind her as she followed him in. She looked around at the cramped coat closet in distaste; it would have to do.

She began slapping Jacob on the arm and chest. “Are you insane?! What were you thinking? Those are monsters out there, Jacob! You could have gotten us killed!”

“Like you almost got me killed!” Jacob yelled back at her. He ran a hand through his hair in frustration, pulling tightly and messing it up.

“That’s not fair, and you know it!” Cassandra snapped. “It was an accident, okay?”

“That’s the point!” Jacob was pacing now in the cramped space, leaving Cassandra no choice but to press herself up against the door. “You used magic, and it ended in an accident. What would’ve happened had it been worse? What if it had impaled me instead of just being absorbed into me? What would you have done, huh Cass? C’mon, enlighten me!”

Cassandra crossed her arms over her chest, chewing on her lip. She shook her head sharply. “Stop it. You’re not being fair.”

“When has this job ever been fair?” Jacob said, turning towards her. He didn’t advance on her but instead kept his distance, short and sharp breaths conveying just how angry he was. “When has life ever been fair?”

“What do you know about unfair life?!” Cassandra snapped. She stepped towards him, almost close enough that they were brushing up against each other. Now her own breaths were starting to match his, quick and angry. “Don’t sit there and pretend you know my life! Don’t sit there and pretend my life has been easy up until now! You always get so mad, and you never listen; now you need to listen.”

“Fine,” Jacob said, nodding to her. “I’m listening.”

Cassandra huffed in frustration, stepping away from him. “You don’t even get it, do you? You don’t you even understand why magic is so important to me.”

Jacob rolled his eyes, leaning back against the coats and jackets behind him. “Of course I do, Cassie. You’re a scientist; the unknown is your playground. But you don’t understand how dangerous it is; you don’t understand what it can do-.”

“I know what it can do!” Cassandra yelled, voice going a little shrill. “You don’t understand how much I know what it can do! Do you want to know what it can do?” She paused, but he didn’t say anything, waiting. “It can cure me! It can save me!”

Jacob’s eyes suddenly darted to the ground, guilty. His shoulders slumped, and he exhaled deeply.

Cassandra sighed. “Look, I know I don’t talk about it much, and that’s okay. I don’t want it to be my defining feature but…it’s still there, you know? I’ve been looking for a cure since we got here, and…I’m still looking for one. Magic is dangerous, I know, but magic is also beautiful, and powerful, and…well, saving. It saves every person we ever have, Jake. And I thought…well, maybe it would save me too?”

“Cassie, I-.” He paused, obviously thinking. She watched him rub self-consciously at his chest.

“Look,” Cassandra said before he could pull his thoughts together, “I’m not standing here and telling you this to make you feel guilty. I just wanted you to know because you deserve to.”

He sighed but slowly nodded his head. “I know…thank you.” He rubbed the back of his neck, still not meeting her eyes. “I-I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have…you don’t deserve me yellin’ at you. It’s just, this stuff…it scares me. Probably more than I’d actually like to admit. When you do this kind of stuff, I’m just so afraid you’re gonna hurt yourself. I don’t want to see that happen.”

“I’m scared of that too,” Cassandra admitted. “Some of the stuff magic can do, it really is terrifying. But it’s no different than when you step in front of us to protect us; it’s no different than when you draw away a bad guy or take a punch. It looks different on the outside, yeah, but it’s not. I’m just trying to help in the way I know I can.”

Slowly, Jacob nodded. “I…I understand.” He shook his head and finally glanced up at her. “I’m sorry.”

Cassandra shrugged, stepping up to him. She pulled him into a hug, feeling his obvious surprise. He was quick to remedy it as he threw an awkward arm back around her. “It’s okay.” She murmured. She laughed a little, a bit rueful. “I just kinda wish we would’ve hashed this out sooner.”

Jacob nodded, his chin bumping the top of her head lightly. “Yeah, me too.”

They stood there for a few more moments until Cassandra pulled back. She glanced up at him to find him much more relaxed than earlier. The dangerous look was out of his eyes, replaced with a determined one. “Alright, you ready to leave?”

Cassandra nodded. “Yep.” She then bit her lip. “And how do you propose we do that?”

“Uh,” Jacob said, “not sure. To be honest, I was gonna ask for your input. I’ve got nothin’.”

“Well,” Cassandra said, wringing out her hands in front of her, “I might have something…but it involves magic.”

Jacob looked unsure for half a second, but it quickly cleared. He nodded. “Alright.” He grinned at her a little bit. “I trust ya, Cassie.”

And then they’d stepped out of the room and a nearby monster who’d been talking to his friend had said the words, “I can’t wait to see the Angrboda Crystal again!” and then Jacob’s chest had lit up like a clear summer night on the fourth of July.

The monsters had quickly deduced they were ‘unfavorables’ and began chasing them around the hotel as Cassandra worked on chanting a homing spell for the Backdoor. She’d eventually gotten a passageway to open up in the elevator as Jacob wrenched the doors apart. They looked down into the abyss, seeing a slight shimmer at the bottom.

Cassandra glanced at Jacob, hand extended. “Trust me?”

He grinned at her, having to shout over the angry yells of the monsters charging towards them. “Always!”

And they jumped.

And fell into the Library to find Eve beginning to strap goggles over her eyes, Jenkins standing next to the Globe, and Ezekiel with a confused look on his face and a giant, blue egg in his hands. Cassandra caught her breath first and yelled, “Close the door! Close it, close it, close it!”

Jenkins rushed to close the door, as Jacob and Cassandra slumped to the ground, both breathing heavily from the running and adrenaline.

Eve was frowning at them. “We were just about to come get you.”

“Appreciate it,” Jacob muttered, still trying in vain to catch his breath.

“How’d it go?” Ezekiel asked cheerfully, walking over to look down at them.

Jacob glanced at Cassandra and met her eyes. She grinned at him, and he nodded. “Good. Really good.”

Cassandra reached over and squeezed his hand. “Good trust-building exercise, for sure.”

“And what of the crystal?” Jenkins asked.

“Oh, yeah, it’s currently lodged in Jacob’s chest,” Cassandra said, shrugging.

“What?!” Three different voices shouted at her, but it didn’t matter because Jacob was laughing.

It didn’t matter because Jacob trusted her.

TWD 11x05 “Out of the Ashes” Review

You know, trying to follow four different storylines in one episode feels a lot like watching a game of pinball. We’re with Aaron in Alexandria one minute, Eugene and co in the Commonwealth the next, back to Alexandria with Judith, but not before jumping to Maggie and Negan in the woods for a hot second, then oh yeah, how about Hilltop? Haven’t been there in a while. Yikes, looking pretty rough. Eugene? Back to you. 

Maybe I’m too much of a linear thinker, but it gets very disorienting. Couple that with the drastic tonal shifts — torturing a whisper to eating ice cream — and suddenly I need to lay down. But anyway. That’s just a criticism of the structure. I have some good things to say about the stories themselves. Also some not so good things. 

Because I apparently love some clean, organized emotional tracking, let’s go arc by arc starting with Maggie and Negan. I was truly looking forward to seeing how their tension would unfold this season, but now I think I’ve already had enough of them.  We see them indeed trudging through the woods, arguing about trust (or lack thereof), and at one point Negan asks her why she hasn’t put him down yet, which essentially echoes what the audience is probably wondering too. Unfortunately Maggie’s response “I ask myself that everyday” feels like a copout and reminds us that no matter what color you put on it -- Maggie’s fighting to hold onto her humanity for her people and her son, Maggie knows Glenn wouldn’t want her to sink that low -- the real answer may just lie behind the fourth wall. 

The argument continues inside a suburban house harboring supplies. Just as in previous episodes, we hear both sides of the coin. A rational Negan thinks it’s time to “cut their losses” and head back to Alexandria. A determined Maggie insists they don’t have nearly enough to show for those losses and they should wait for the others. Negan tries to use Hershel as leverage, another bold move, though this time not antagonistic. Maggie maintains  she’s taking risks for her son and the rest of the children back home. Not surprisingly, they make no headway, even escalating things to a brief physical altercation until Gabriel and Elijah show up. Their arrival is truly the only movement in the story, which makes me question the need for it at all in an already overstuffed episode. I get it. Maggie and Negan have a very troubled past.  Maggie can’t forgive Negan for killing Glenn. Negan’s never going to be sorry about it anyway. If their relationship can’t evolve in any way, and frankly I wouldn’t really expect it to, it’s best to focus on something that can. 

I’m still not a huge fan of the Commonwealth arc, but at least progress is being made. We get to see what the place looks like, and despite having as many as 50,000 “citizens,”  it comes across very cutesy and tiny town. Lance Hornsby’s introduction video (propaganda much?) heightens the cheese factor, not that I’m complaining. It definitely gives me Woodbury vibes, and a little nostalgia is always appreciated. Our group is assigned housing and jobs based on their skillset in the old world, but Eugene reminds them they’re only there to seek help for their friends back home. Whilst enjoying an ice cream cone, he appeals to the woman he thinks is Stephanie (a cameo from Margot Bingham confirms that it’s not), who gives him access to a radio. It’s risky and highly illegal, requiring a hilarious distraction from Princess so that Mercer doesn’t catch them. Tactical or not, there’s definitely a spark between those two, my friends. Sadly the plan still fails. In the middle of a conversation with Rosita over the radio, Eugene and fake Stephanie are busted. Not yet considered citizens, Eugene, Princess, and Ezekiel are subject to banishment or other forms of punishment and could really use a good lawyer. In case that wasn’t obvious, I’m now segueing over to Yumiko, who gets to reunite with her brother Tomi, who has an accent that for some reason I find really distracting (Anyone else feel that way or??) It seems he’s holding out on his community by working at a bakery instead utilizing his skills as a surgeon. How much do you want to bet those skills are going to come in handy for a certain someone with a goiter on their neck?  

Jumping over to Alexandria, it’s great to see Judith  taking on a leadership role by helping the other kids practice with swords and standing up to unruly teenagers twice her size after they taunt a child walker (portrayed by JDM’s son if anyone was curious). She’s certainly living up to her parents’ legacy, which I’ve noted before can actually be really crippling for her character if that’s the only purpose she’s there to serve. Precisely why I’m glad that in addition to her being a badass warrior kid, she’s shown to ultimately just be a kid who doesn’t have all the answers. She’s struggling to cope with all the people she’s lost, and in a really beautiful scene, gets some much needed comfort and advice from her Tia Rosita. We get a nice callback to the scene in season 8 when Carl and baby Judith made their handprints together, and we also get a little insight into Rosita’s family background. Turns out she can also relate to losing a parent. Maybe my memory is failing me, but I don’t think we’ve ever seen Rosita and Judith properly bond before, and again, as much as I love some badassery, there’s also something really touching about how their exchange allows both of them to be more vulnerable. 

Another way the episode taps into a character’s innermost feelings is through dreams. In the past, they’ve helped expose Carol’s deepest desires and Rosita’s greatest fears. This time, the privilege is given to Aaron in a horrific moment of  him being stabbed and eaten by Walkers, Wolves, and Whisperers (oh my). Clearly, every villain  he’s ever had to face still weighs heavily on his mind and as agonizing as it is to constantly carry that around with him, he’ll continue to stay vigilant. Whatever helps him keep his home, his community, and his daughter safe.  It’s no wonder then that he goes to such extreme measures at Hilltop where he, Carol, Jerry, and Lydia confront a  whisperer taking refuge. He ties the man up despite Lydia’s protests. Having a personal connection to this whisperer, she remains the voice of empathy, reminding Aaron that not all of them are liars. Too bad it falls flat when they find out that this one was in fact lying to them. He claimed to be alone, but there are others living in the cellar. That, and nearly getting stabbed in an escape attempt fuels Aaron’s rage. Jerry is also not in the mood to be merciful, seeing the walkers of Hilltopers who died in the fire and finding one of Nabila’s stolen scarves. Carol acts as a casual observer, but gets a good punch in, so there’s that. 

I’m of two minds when it comes to this arc. On one hand, Aaron is a vital, longstanding character who deserves way more focus than he or any of the series regulars have been getting in recent seasons, and I love seeing the distinct transformation from someone who “wouldn’t hurt a fly” to someone who tortures a man and lets him get bitten. My question is, does putting a less prominent character in the driver’s seat have to be to the detriment of a lead female character who spends the bulk of the episode mainly just hovering? I realize I’m biased, but I think it also could have serviced the overall story to see more of Carol’s POV throughout, which thankfully does at least manifest in a really powerful heart to heart towards the end. With a quivering voice, Carol expresses her regret for letting the pain of losing Henry spread to the people she cares about and implores Aaron not to travel down the same dark path she did. He ultimately listens, offering to cut off the whisperer’s hand before the infection from the bite can kill him. It’s both Carol’s and Aaron’s choices to do the humane thing over the practical thing that leads to new information about Connie’s whereabouts, providing their group  renewed hope and determination. Though it certainly extends to Aaron too, it’s especially meaningful for Carol who we know has been “standing on the ashes” of her pain, and is now finally getting the opportunities to rise out of them.  

And what do you know; what do you say? According to the promo for 11x06, it looks like Carol is going to be out and about with Kelly (and Magna) to some extent after all. Lydia mentions in this episode that the “screaming rock,” Connie’s last known whereabouts, is close to Alexandria (and they’re just now finding clues?), but there might be something to the idea of “being followed” that leads them to venture further out. We shall see. Meanwhile, Daryl is probably going to have to torture, maybe even kill Frost to gain the Reapers’ trust while they continue to hunt down Maggie and co. That should be interesting. 

Side note: I know press for Rendition is going to come out tomorrow, and supposedly some interviews with Lynn Collins. Try to bear in mind anything she says is just her opinion, and that she’s likely seeing things through the eyes of the character she’s portraying. TWD 11x15: Trust - Analysis

Okay, how did everyone like 11×15, Trust? I really enjoyed this episode. Again, it's not one of those episodes with hundreds and hundreds of symbolic clues, though there are certainly some things to talk about. I'll talk about the broad things and the ones that jumped out at me the most today. Tomorrow, we'll do details.

***As always, spoilers abound below for the episode. Don't read until you've watched!***

We basically had three different storylines going on here. The main one was Gabriel and Aaron, trying to commit convince Lance that they are not lying about what happened at the Complex. All of them end up going to Hilltop to see Maggie. The others were more minor. Carol and Ezekiel help people outside the system at the Commonwealth, and Eugene and Max are going to try and steal some secret files.

So of course, the main storyline is Daryl finally arriving at the Complex and becoming privy to what's been going on there. It was hard to say what he knew during the episode, but he was constantly communicating with Aaron and Gabriel via significant looks. At the end. AK said that they were basically communicating telepathically.

So, Daryl didn't really know what was going on. I don't think Gabe and Aaron had a chance to pull him aside and tell him, since he arrived with Lance. But it was clear to Daryl that something had gone down and even though he didn't know what it was, he was instantly on Aaron and Gabe's side. They go to hilltop and things get pretty tense. There are really two things that I want to point out that happened in the storyline.

The first is a “serious” mention. When they are heading toward the Hilltop, they run into a small cluster of walkers. Lance suggests that Gabriel and Aaron take care of things. Daryl immediately asks, "You serious?" I totally missed this until about the third time I watched it. It just wasn’t registering with me as a serious mention. I actually think it's super significant.

Of course we hear serious/Sirius mentions all the time, and usually in conjunction with Beth symbolism. But I don't think we have heard Daryl say one for a long time. Obviously, he had one in S4 with Beth and the serious piggyback. But I asked my fellow theorists if they remember him saying one since. Sure, we might be forgetting something. (And if anyone remembers Daryl having a serious mention between S4 and S11, let me know.) But if not, then this may be the first time since S4 we are hearing him say it. Which suggests kind of a bookend situation. Like he said it right before Beth disappeared and now again, right before she’s about to return. Hopefully. ;D

The other thing is that during the Insider portion of the episode at the end, Angela Kang also called Gabriel and Aaron, "serious." I must have watched the Insider part like three times before jumped out at me. We've always said that Aaron is a Beth proxy and Gabe is sort of the embodiment of the serious character right now because of his eye. And Angela called them both “serious characters.” I think that's on purpose and she's talking to TD.

But also think about that for a minute. If Gabriel and Aaron collectively represent Beth, we have a situation where, symbolically, that the study walkers and Daryl helps her. Could be a throwback to S4, but could also be a foreshadow. So, I thought that was pretty fun.

The other major symbolic moment that jumped out at me was with the blue truck inside of Hilltop. I said back in episode 13 when Maggie first left HT to go to the Complex that the blue truck reminded me of the blue suburban from S4. And that one was definitely a Beth symbol. So. I wasn't sure exactly how this one might be, but I was keeping an eye on it. And sure enough, it didn't disappoint.

It's a little tricky to nail down, but I knew right away there was Beth symbolism going on there. I mean, the truck was kind of "dead" and Lance couldn't get it to start. Obviously, Maggie or one of her people messed with it in some way to make sure it wouldn't start, even beyond the small problem Lance saw and reconnected.

When he turned the key, the engine didn't even turn over, which could suggest a battery problem. But we, the viewers, know the car was "alive" and working last episode when Maggie used it. So, you could argue that it's "playing dead" or at least that it's made to look dead when it's not, and there are people standing around who know very well that the truck isn't dead, but are just trying to make it look that way. *coughs Beth*

And of course it was very gratifying to see Lance come off looking like an idiot.

There are plenty more details to be had in the storyline, but I'll come back to it tomorrow. The biggest thing is just that pretty much all of TF knows that something is rotten in the state of the Commonwealth. Even Daryl at the end says, "something's about to go down.” So for TF, their liking of the CW is crumbling fast.

I thought the Carzekiel storyline here was really adorable. We first have Ezekiel sneaking around, trying to recruit Tomi to help patients outside the system. They get caught stealing medical supplies and Carol comes to bail them out. Ezekiel then takes them both to his little charitable operation.

One thing I noticed was that while they were walking, they walked past a ton of animals that Ezekiel is helping to keep. We saw horses, goats, and alpacas. All of them were black and white. Like, all of them, and no other colors that we saw. Black and white theme. And also Carzekiel = Bethyl because soulmate couple.

A later scene between Carol and Ezekiel is actually very sweet. It talks a lot about darkness and shows how Ezekiel sees her. First, Carol says she's thinking about, "just all the years. The darkness." She says that after all that, Ezekiel is sitting there growing. And that the light suits him.

All the years and the darkness made me think of Beth. It reminded me specifically of Maggie saying in 5x10 that, "this was just the dark part." Anytime someone mentions years, I can't help but go back to those early seasons. I can't help but think that mention of years is the writers’ way of directing us back to what's happened before.

Ezekiel then says that his light, "came from a spark you helped me find. Darkness is heavy. Some of us carry more than others because were strong enough to hold the weight."

That's definitely true of Carol and could be said of Daryl as well. They carry the darkness because they're strong enough to hold up under it. Not everyone is. And then Ezekiel says, "But we make the light. You make the light, Carol. You know that, don't you?"

Again, something that can easily be said of Daryl. But as @wdway​ said, this is sweet because there are very few people who look at Carol, or even Carol's character in the fandom, and see her as a “light” character. It just shows that Ezekiel genuinely loves her and sees the good in her.

By this time, Carol has tears in her eyes, and she says, "you know were not getting back together, right?" And they both laugh. Yes, I'm sure certain shippers are jumping all over that as being fact. But if you understand the vibe of the scene, they’re actually being sarcastic when they say it. They're both laughing. And why would Carol bring that up if she hadn't had the thought right then about getting back together with him? It's basically a clumsy way of saying that they absolutely are getting back together.

Now, I’ve talked about Ezekiel's death fake out a lot. I don't think it'll be happening until 11c. And it didn't happen with his operation. However, in thinking about this scene, I realized something.

All the couples who experience a major death fake out are moving forward in their relationship in some way right before it happens. So, for example, Maggie and Glenn found out they were pregnant. For Beth and Daryl, Daryl had just admitted his feelings for Beth right before she disappeared. Rick and Michonne had just decided to have another child together.

So, while it's different in each situation, the couple’s relationship is always progressing in some way right before the death fake out and separation happens. So, my guess is that they will actually get Carol and Ezekiel back together. Like 100%, all the way, so even Carol is all in. And then the death fake out will happen. Again, still pretty much impossible to predict when, but I think it will be before the end of s11.

Moving on to Max and Eugene. Not tons to say about them as things didn't progress in a massive way in this episode. Eugene asks Max to help still secret files so they can figure out what's going on with the list of names of people that are disappearing.

Rosita says that even if some of the names on the list are people that Sebastian sent in the house, there's way too many. So where happening to the rest of these people? Well, we already know that certain groups, such as Jadis and her Heapsters, were in the habit of selling people to the CRM. Could the Commonwealth be doing the same thing?

People disappearing without a trace definitely smacks of the CRM. But of course was have to wait and see what kind of explanation there is. The other thing we found suspicious is that when Eugene came to speak with Max, he brought her greens. Fruits and vegetables that were his cover so he could come talk to her without anyone being suspicious. A bunch of us laughed at that, because he literally brought the greens. We've been saying for years that Beth would come through Eugene storyline. In other words, he's going to bring the Greene.

The operation with the burst appendix was also really interesting from a symbolic standpoint. The first thing that struck me is that it wasn't terribly realistic. When an appendix bursts, it's because it's full of toxins and those toxins and immediately enter the blood. It instantly becomes an emergent and sometimes an ICU situation, because the blood become so toxic that the person can die of sepsis.

In the episode, they're a fairly casual about it. It wasn't that big a deal and, as long as they moved quickly, it would be okay. I honestly don't know if the patient would survive in that situation if the appendix had burst. But as TDs detractors like to say, this is a fictional show. It's not that I think they're going out of their way to be incorrect with the medical stuff, but rather that perhaps it’s symbolic.

So, we had a patient in a hospital setting. Clearly, that has ties to Grady for obvious reasons. More than anything else, though, this reminded me of the scene at Grady where they amputate Joan’s arm. Only because they had to act very quickly and had several people moving about the room trying to help.

I was thinking that the toxicity in the blood that comes from an appendix bursting is not unlike the zombie virus when someone is bitten. So, think of it this way. With Joan, she'd been bitten, which means there were toxins in her blood that might kill her. They had to move quickly and remove her arm to save her life. Here, an appendix burst, which means the patient had toxins in their bloodstream that might kill them quickly. So, Tomi had to move quickly to remove the appendix and save their life.

Finally, there's Leah. Again, not much happening with her here. Just one scene. But it is very significant. Lance says he's going to give her job, and from the trailer for 11x16, it seems that job is probably killing Maggie. My fellow theorists and I actually talked about this happening back during and after 11a. Because Pope was so hell bent on killing Maggie, and we still don't understand exactly why he was so obsessed with her, we wondered if Leah would take up that gauntlet. Clearly she is, though she didn't do on her own. She did she's doing it because Lance is paying her to do it.

The other thing that jumped out at about her to us was that she's living much like Daryl was living after Rick disappeared. She’s living by herself, in the woods, in a tent. She's being very feral and not terribly civilized, much as Daryl was back then. So were wondering if her arc is meant to somewhat mirror Daryl's from back then. It's hard to say yet, but will just have to wait and see.

Those are the major things that jumped out at me. I'll be back tomorrow with details. What did everyone else think the episode?

Summer reading update

Who would have thought that having a to read list also involves dropping lots of books instead of reading them. But what else can you do with books not up your ally? Drop drop drop

There are 4 books in the Black dog series so far (not finished yet damn it) but I'm afraid of finishing the first book.🥺 The next book apparently starts with an outsider character and I wanna keep reading about the darlings I'm attached to... esp Alejandro he is so cool and conflicted all the time. Natividad is fun and fine, a bit too cheerful and straightforward, though I'm very curious about her potential bad boy boyfriend Ezekiel there. Girl likes the power of this talented executioner, can't blame her, plus he is so lazily perfect at everything. Though if Ezekiel and Alejandro bonded, it would be even greater for my bromance loving heart.

Good thing I found this series when I did. Keraunani left me disappointed though I raced through the book in two days. Enemies to lovers? Pche. It was just a man from very anti woman culture realizing women are strong and could be his equals too. Big revelation omg. This arc is getting very old and boring. Yawn.

Legacy of Ash was great with the politics and enemies to friends storyline...except the book ends tragically and the bromance even more tragically so hands off this one. I hate tragic bad endings. Blah. Though I love Anastacia being a former angel, such an op demon girl, so self-assured and manipulative and pure badass and her love with Josiri was well established and still so juicy and tense, I was taking notes so much. Great character. I loved all the girl characters in this book, so feisty.

There is still Ember blade, Alloy of law, Declaration of rights of magicians as far as bromances go. Crooked saints and Wicked saints look promising, but I don't trust the style just yet. Villians by necessity sound juicy. Hands of the Emperor should be a slow burn political slice of life bromance, just a bit worried about how giant it is?

There is still Emperor's edge: a ragtag bunch of misfits led by a righteous former policeman girl, with some hardcore enemies to maybe friends, and I love it for the critic that it's basically MC girl and nothing but boys, that's my fave constellation. Funny how bad reviews sometimes tip you over to reading a book after all, cause you love what they criticize.🤣 Happened to me with anime before too.

I really wanted to like For the wolf since it was the first rec for similar books to Uprooted, which I love with all my heart but ehh. Reading felt like scratching nails on a whiteboard, though I can't idenity what it was doing wrong. Just ehh. Dropped after first two chapters.

Walking Dead Origins: Carol and Daryl tidbits in Daryl’s story

the thing to know about Daryl Dixon: he speaks his mind and he knows what he’s doing. that goes with what Norman always says about the character - he says what he means and he means what he says. no bullshitting!! Daryl is also described as a searcher as in he is always searching for something - food, friends, redemption, a place to belong, etc.. 

this might get a bit long... so all the Carol/Daryl related quotes, and some of my thoughts after the jump...

s2 - “Carol’s daughter Sophia runs off (...) Daryl remains the loner of the group, continuing to search for Sophia. Daryl’s search gives Carol hope and we begin to see a change in him, too (...) while he recovers, Carol and Daryl really start to bond, whether he likes it or not. And he begins to have a kind of a softer touch with the rest of the group now (...) He won’t let his injury stop him searching for Sophia, but he doesn’t know how to accept Carol’s affection. So he rejects it. But soon, Daryl is the one who’s comforting Carol. Daryl doesn’t hold people. He finds them. [he says this as we watch Daryl holding Carol as Sophia exists the barn lol]. He couldn’t find Sophia in time and he feels like maybe he failed Carol. After losing Sophia, Daryl detaches from the group.”

Daryl is a searcher.  that's exactly who Daryl is ever since we first met him - looking for his brother Merle, then Sophia, Beth, Rick, Connie... he never gives up on his people!

s5 - “Daryl’s about to become dinner, when a good friend helps him escape.”

s7 - “Daryl learns of a plot to trick Ezekiel into fighting the Saviors, but there’s one problem - it means killing Carol. [full Richard scene plays] (...) Daryl goes to see her and he doesn’t tell her about Abraham and Glenn. He lies to protect her.”

again, Daryl always doing everything to protect Carol even from emotional pain.

(34 mins to sum up 8 whole seasons of TWD. the rest is focused on S9 and S10)

s9 - “Just like after Sophia died he detaches from the group (...) Daryl thinks if he lets another person in, he’ll lose them (...) While he’s been away Carol has married King Ezekiel, and they’ve adopted a son, Henry. When she and Henry visit, Carol asks Daryl for a favor. Daryl can’t say no to Carol and they all go to Hilltop (...) Daryl reunites with the group and they make a horrible discovery (...) It’s Carol’s son, Henry. This is literally his worst nightmare. He was entrusted with protecting Carol’s child, and he failed her again. Just like when Sophia walked out of the barn, he holds Carol up as her world comes crashing down.”

s10 - “Carol returns. (...) He respects Alpha’s borders because he doesn’t want to start a war. She thinks it’s bullshit. Carol’s ready to leave again, but he’s not ready to say goodbye to her. And then Carol sees Alpha. With Carol hell-bent on finding Alpha, he realizes he needs to keep an eye on his friend. But when they catch up with the herd, there’s no stopping her. She runs off and takes a whisperer hostage. Carol is losing control and Daryl doesn’t know how to protect her if he can’t trust her. She ignores his advice and leads the group right into a cave with Alpha’s horde (...) Daryl tries to talk some sense into his friend. They find a way out, but Carol’s run off again. Daryl finds her just as she’s about to blow up the horde and probably herself. He pulls her to safety but the whole places starts caving in. They make it out just in time. (...) The Whisperers are coming for Hilltop, so everyone starts preparing for what may be the last night of their lives [I’m never gonna hate you scene!] (...) The whisperers have been silenced and the group reunites, so Daryl checks in on Carol. [You still got me scene!]” THE END! 

what’s next for Daryl Dixon? Blah blah blah. We don’t know what’s next for Daryl... bitch, pls! you gonna spin off!!! Whatever it is, he’ll find a way to protect the people he loves at all costs. YEAH, he will. even if that means running away with his fav bestie Carol. love that for him!

i always thought that losing Sophia was a turning point for both Carol and Daryl. it changed them, it still has a huge emotional impact in everything they do and who they are now. it was so important to their storylines that Norman refers back to it a few times. 

what i don’t like about Origins is that it’s basically one hour narrating action and events in chronological order in an almost completely emotionally detached way. the emotional side only really comes out when he’s talking about Merle, Rick, but specially Carol.

i like how there are many, many small Caryl scenes while Norman is narrating (even if Carol isn’t mentioned!), or they just let Caryl scenes play out in full with no commentary. they let the scenes speak for themselves and that’s a powerful thing for who’s watching, imo.

You and Angel have been quarantined together for a month. 

While you two enjoyed the other’s company, the movies and television shows to binge on was slimming down. You both loved nature and craved to be outside. You missed being able to just walk outside without a worry.

But you also knew not to be selfish. 

This was for the better and it was going to save lives. 

But you both were surprised that you haven’t wanted to kill one another. Surprisingly enough, you two enjoyed one another’s company and gave the other space when needed. You two shared a two bedroom apartment. It was nice to share your apartment with a friend, especially one you met through your ex-schoolmate Ezekiel. You and Ezekiel had become close during your first semester at Stanford and when you found out of his fate, you visited him weekly. He didn’t close you off and you were thankful for that. One time you came and his family was there, you met his big brother, Angel and his father Felipe. 

The attraction to Angel was immediate, but you kept everything at bay since you both were in different places.

But somehow, four years after meeting, you found yourself in Santo Padre. While you two texted often, you didn’t hang out with Angel much. When he offered to room with you when you immediately moved to Santo Padre, you were hesitant at first, but you realized that there was no other person you would want to room with besides Angel. 

Work brought you to Santo Padre. Currently, you were a teacher at the high school. It was nerve wrecking since teenagers could be little shits, but somehow, they enjoyed your world history facts that you always taught them.

Living with Angel was a delight. He always brought you home food when he could and helped you cook when he could. He did your laundry for you when he was doing his. Always made sure your oil was changed for your car and everything. And it was always a plus to see Angel walking around shirtless. That man was a god and if you just had some guts, you would jump him, but there was always this unspoken thing between you two. EZ was his younger brother and you were EZ���s best friend, you two were just not allowed to be together, for EZ’s sake.

Regardless, that didn’t mean your attraction was nonexistent. Angel was very attracted to you, and he has been for years, but his promise to his brother always trumped his desire for you.

However, with this quarantine in place and the time he spent with you, Angel found it harder to resist you. Walking in those booty shorts of yours that showed off your assets. He was a strong man, but there was just so much he could take.

One of the best things about living with Angel was the artwork. He painted your room, the artwork suited you so well. You loved watching Angel paint. Your favorite thing to do was reading a book while Angel painted on the ground, concentrating on his next masterpiece. If this outlaw biker thing didn’t work, he could totally open up a gallery. 

Currently, you both were on the couch, finishing up the Punisher. Angel had his head on your lap, as you watched the show intently, digging the storyline and enjoying the eye candy.

“This show is amazing.” You praised it as the ending credits came on.

Angel clicked his tongue. “Or you mean the guys are hot?”

“Don’t be jealous Ignacio, you’re still the apple of my eye.” You pinched his cheek, causing Angel to push your hand away, but he chuckled, loving the feel of your skin on his. It was pathetic really, but he promised EZ he would never fall for you. He thought that maybe EZ was in love with you, but that didn’t seem to be the case.

“Want to take a break from watching?”

“Sure, what you got in mind? If you say let’s fuck, I’m going to slit your throat.”

“I love it when you threaten me.” Angel chuckled, sitting up. “Want to help me paint?”

“You know I don’t have an ounce of talent for art in my body.” You’ve painted with Angel a few times and he always told you how you were getting better, but you somehow doubted that. Angel was a great teacher, really nice too. Maybe if he didn’t want to do the art gallery, he could definitely be a teacher. 

“No, let me paint you.” Angel really enjoyed your presence whenever he was painting, he felt inspired and encouraged whenever you were around. 

Angel has never requested to paint you before. Wait, that’s a lie, he has numerous times but you always shut him down and made an excuse to leave. He knew that you wouldn’t be able to make an excuse today. You were stuck at home after all.

“Me? No way.” You shook your head. “I feel like we can FaceTime someone and you can paint them instead.” 

“Come on mi dulce, I’ve always wanted to paint you.” He took your hand in his, trying to ignore the butterflies and the spark that just coarse through your body.

“Angel, let me FaceTime Kristin, remember how hot you thought she was?” You were really trying to get out of this as best as you can. You couldn’t keep still and there was no point in painting you.

He recalled making that comment, but he only said it to get a reaction out of you, which obviously didn’t work. “Nope, I want you.” The way he said it, it made the butterflies in your stomach move around even more wildly than before. 

“Can you just not paint me and say you did?” You offered.

“You don’t trust me?”

“No, I’m just shy.” 

Angel smirked. ���Shy? You don’t have to be shy with me.” He stood up, taking your hand and taking you to his room. “Do me a favor mama, strip to your bra and panty.”

“What?!” You crossed your arms over your chest.

“Come on baby girl, you won’t be fully naked.” He tried to ease your shyness.

“Alright fine, but I expect to be compensated for this.” You were comfortable with your body, but this was also Angel who most likely has seen so many beautiful girls naked. And he may have also slept with you before, it was a drunken night which you remembered well however, you weren’t sure if he did. He’s never mentioned it and you didn’t want to be the one to do so.

As you took off your clothing, Angel immediately regretted asking you to be his model. He’s always imagined how you would look in your unmentionables and he was beginning to forget about his promise to EZ and well, he was fucking forgetting EZ. 

He’s seen it all before. He was buzzed that night, but he definitely wasn’t drunk. At times, you haunted his dreams, seeing you naked could make any man go crazy and it fucked up Angel. He didn’t even know how to approach the subject and quite frankly, since you didn’t mention it, he didn’t want to. He didn’t want to embarrass you or himself.

Theories on Season 11

Hey! So, as I’m sure you all are very aware, Find Me is out, and I can honestly say that I’m somewhat relieved it did. I was tired of all the theories and anxieties I was feeling about it. At least now we know what we’re working with officially.

I don’t want to make a review, as most blogs have already done their own. For this post, I’m going to jot down some theories on what Leah’s role will be in Season 11. Some of these theories I’ve thought of and others I’ve seen from other bloggers, but I just wanted to get my thoughts down. 

Of course, it’s just my opinion, and if you don’t agree, that’s perfectly fine.

Spoilers and theories under the cut... 

So is everyone ok after 10x18? Yes? No? No worries on whatever your answer is; your emotions are valid.

Anyways, even though the episode was a bit painful to watch as Caryl shippers, I really don’t think it sunk the Caryl ship. If anything, the subtle (not really) parallels between Caryl and Daryl and Leah just showed that Caryl could very possibly happen despite all the naysayers saying they could never sleep together. 

Also, can I say that the whole fish scene was freaking hilarious.

But I digress... I have a few predictions on how Leah’s going to fit into the storyline for season 11. I might hit the nail on the head, or I might be so off that I break my thumb instead, but that’s ok. It’s what makes it fun.

1) I’ve made this first part into a group of theories instead of just one. These are theories that I’ve heard about or read, but I really don’t think are going to happen. They’re just interesting enough for me to list them, but they’re unlikely in my opinion:

- Leah is in Season 11 but in flashbacks - I don’t think they would go this route, because it would be even lazier writing than what we’ve gotten, and it would be more interesting to have her in person instead of being in flashbacks. If they went that way, it would be incredibly obvious that she is a plotpoint for Daryl and that’s it, and that’s pretty crappy writing even for TWD.

- Leah is in Season 11 but she isn’t real - Now this one is an interesting concept admittedly. What if Daryl was in such a crappy mood in the woods, and is thirsting for companionship, so he makes someone up in his head that is pretty similar to Carol, but doesn’t look like her b/c he wouldn’t want to be that kind of creepy friend. Then in Season 11, the viewer realizes one way or another that she was made up, that he made her up in his head to help with his woes, but now that he’s better and with Carol he doesn’t need her anymore. Really neat theory from a mentality standpoint, but I highly doubt that’s where the writers would go.

- Leah is in Season 11, but she dies - I know some folks have said this before, and I get it. Some of us are so done with the drama, we’re just thinking the worst case scenario at this point. What if Leah comes back and Daryl’s all happy and thinks that he’ll spend the rest of his life with her but then Leah dies somehow and he decides to go on a roadtrip with Carol to help with his man pain. I know some peeps feel like that would happen, but in my opinion, I really don’t think so. Angela Kang does have a lot of respect for Daryl and Carol (I know we don’t feel that way right now b/c of 10x18 but bear with me), as she’s said that this is about their story and their journey I really don’t think she would have the story go as low and as misogynistic as that. I honestly don’t.

Now these next two theories are the ones that I believe have a much higher chance of happening in season 11:

2). Leah is in Season 11, and is a part of the new antagonist group (Reapers) - So it wouldn’t be a season of the walking dead without some sort of antagonist being around. The Reapers have already made their presence known with the first extra episode, and I’m sure is going to cause issues throughout the season. An interesting theory that I’m a fan of that people have thought up already is that Leah is part of the Reapers. Whether she’s the leader or one of the followers, it doesn’t really matter, for she’s still a plot device for Daryl. 

The current fantasy I’m having is that Leah comes back and tries to get close to Daryl, which Daryl isn’t necessarily against but is still wary. But then Carol notices things about Leah and catches her doing stuff and she’s like “wtf?” and she tells Daryl her concerns but he brushes her off because he doesn’t trust her judgment very much right now. Most ASZ peeps think Leah is a good person but Carol’s like “mehhh something’s off”. Then the reveal happens where Leah is a double agent of sorts and betrays them all by having the Reapers infiltrating Alexandria or some crazy shit like that. Then it looks like she kills Carol in some way and Daryl’s absolutely gut wrenched because his Carol just died at the hands of his crazy ex girlfriend that he believed more than his best friend and what the fuck is wrong with him?? But then Carol comes back and butchers the Reapers cause she’s a goddamn queen and Daryl looks at her like she could fart fairy dust and gives the biggest smile we’ve ever seen him give on the show. Then he hugs her fiercely and starts sobbing, telling her how sorry he was and how relieved he was at her being alive and... same old story that’s happened on MULTIPLE occasions with other shows and books.

Now considering how Leah is made out to be in 10x18, I would say this theory is ‘less likely’ than what I thought it would be originally, but there’s still a decent chance. I don’t think Leah’s a cold blooded/narcissist, but it’s possible she could get roped up with the Reapers... and lets face it, Daryl isn’t the same person from who he was in the woods, so there’s a good chance she won’t be either when she comes back.

3). Leah is in Season 11, and pushes for a relationship with Daryl - Admittedly, this one would hurt to watch, but I think it’s a fair possibility we can’t rule out. Daryl is arguably at a better headspace now than he was way back when in the woods, and he knows he belongs with his family. But then Leah shows up and wants to start things over with him, and it could go multiple ways. He could realize right away that he doesn’t want that, and maybe he and Leah both get closer together. Or maybe he will give it a try for old times sake, but then he realizes that she’s not the person she was, or whom he thought she was, and they’re not actually a good pairing, and then he realizes “you know who I really want? That grey haired queen”... it would probably more emotional than that though.

I mean, we’ve all been there. We break up from a long term partner and it hurts like hell but we heal and we’re stronger for it. But then the ex comes back and is wanting to be with you again, and you’re at the very least tempted to give it a go b/c you were happy with them at one point. But then you’re with them and you realize that maybe this wasn’t a good idea, and maybe you should’ve listened to your goddamn gut all along b/c it was warning you that there’s a reason why it didn’t work out the first time.

Arguably, this theory would be more satisfying than the last one, because it would be Daryl who would choose who he would want to be with in the end. Think about it. We were initially bummed that Ezekiel wasn’t going to get his comic death in season 9 (and of course we were pissed about Henry), but then it turned out for the better because Carol willingly chose to leave him instead of being forced out of the relationship via death. So for Daryl to choose Carol over Leah in the end would be incredibly satisfying, albeit looooong overdue...

I still very much think Caryl is endgame despite the tough road we’re facing. I know folks are taking this last hurdle really hard because it’s been ingrained in our heads that Daryl is a “one woman kind of guy”, but... maybe that’s still the case. Maybe his heart is a “one woman kind of organ”, but Daryl’s been able to move past his traumas enough to be physical with more than one person. At least that’s how I’m seeing things at the moment. Obviously, it’s not good taste to go completely backwards on what is “known” about a character and assume that the audience would catch on as to why it would happen (like how Daryl reading the “children of abuse” book was never addressed in the show, but we’re having to assume he did b/c Norman said he did). Hoping the audience assumes the things that the writers are thinking of has always been an ongoing issue with TWD, so this whole shindig wasn’t necessarily surprising to me.

Anyways, that’s my two cents on things. I still think they’ll happen, and I still trust Kang. I’m just thinking of this as just the angsty part of a fanfic that I love and adore, and I just have to grit my teeth and wait for the author to finish writing the next chapter before hauling ass to my computer to see the update and breaking my desktop in the process. We’ll get to the healing part, I promise.

Hi hello hi. I wanted to come on and say that seeing everyone general negativty over 1018 is actually very saddening. I get it you are allowed your own way of dealing may that be thorough anger, frustration which ever which way it is that's your way. For some people such as myself having to come onto twitter or here to see the same type of things being said questions being repeated it's quite frustrating. It's as if everyone all at once has dismissed the whole of season 10 over one episode in which no one has seen yet we are reading spoilers and reviews of the episode small clips here and there but no one has fully seen this episode yet.

With the opening minutes we see Daryl is upset over something we don't know yet but I think so of the negativity and comments have to remember that in this episode we are gonna have a deep dive of Daryl character we may not like it and it may hurt or it may not we don't know as this storyline doesn't feel important in ways of Caryl relationship I feel it is. Yes Daryl is seeming pissy but we don't know if this is towards Carol or about Kelly being worried about Connie by the map Carol picks up I think he has been mapping down places to look. Him looking for Connie is going to bring back bad memory's of looking for Rick and some of Leah. As well as the argument scene I feel this scene is so important as A. They are giving us a real look at Caryl a REAL look into their relationship, yes we've seen their relationship for years but this argument is the writers showing it a real relationship with ups and down that it's not as perfect as some of us would wish it to be. Arguments in a relationship and one like Caryls is important as they've had so much over the years buried things that were never discussed war wound not quite held over this X amount of time, we haven't seen them once argue since hmm S2 maybe and that was mainly in Daryl part this scene seems to be mirroring it. And B. Angela has said that Carol and Daryl are the main focus I mean they are the last ogs standing their story has been highlighted as important so many times over season 10 it's kinda hard to forget every good scene we got for them. We got so much movement for Caryl over season 10 I do understand the feeling of people feeling like this movement has stopped but this episode is just moving it more. Their is also the point of the whisper war Daryl thought so many times he was losing Carol like us shipper he wants his relationship to be perfect but cracks show Daryl has lived through so many toxic relationship I don't ever think he would feel Carol was one but maybe he is feeling this way with the lack of trust she has in him locking him out in season 10 when he tried so hard to reach her. Carol in turn in 1021 is going to prove to him that actually she doesn't want to lock him out anymore show him such as his line ' I know where I'm suppose to be ' she showing him that she does too she isn't running she isn't fighting it she is trying whatever is said in the argument shakes her to that point of proving herself of living a life inside the walls of Alexandria.

Don't dissmiss everything that happened in season 10 because of one episode I know that's easier said than done but if we as a fandom could watch Carol be married to Ezekiel I'm pretty sure we can survive an episode of Daryl and some other women. Who I feel isn't mirroring Carol, in looks maybe, but I'm attitude she is mirroring himself they way he stubborn, his loneliness, his need to belong with people. Such as Carol does the way Daryl character has been explained with Leah it is as if he is wearing a mask.

Also its not anti dean or dean crit to criticise him for instances where he was objectively in the wrong. Im not even talking about times where he did shitty stuff but had no other choice (the entire ezekiel situation including kicking cas out), but the times where he unnecessarily fucked up due to his own stubborness or when he lets his feelings cloud his judgement.

Many of those are actually understandable and in character, so i am not mad at the writers those. For example his violent reaction to Sam drinking demon blood. Over the top and actually manages to alienate sam further, but understandable considering dean JUST came back from hell.

His behaviour towards cas for the entirety of s6. Comes off as dismissive of castiels struggles and like he only Sees cas as a means to an end. And then later he refuses to listen to cas explanations and Sees him as a threat. Understandable if you know that dean has immense trust issues and he thinks hes the only one allowed to make sacrifices for the greater good, when other people do it theyre stupid.

Kicking cas out is one thing, but not supporting him in any way? Causing cas to have to sleep at his workplace? Dean probably didnt realise what becoming human meant for cas bc he had always been fine without the winchesters for literal millenia. Pretty dumb of dean, but it sorta makes sense.

Not trusting Jack immediately? Also perfectly understandable tbh. He didnt have to be so hostile, but his mistrust makes sense.

Putting Jack in the Box? So fucking stupid, but he did see Jack as a threat at that moment.

The entire divorce thing? Dumb as hell and cruel, but in character. He later realises that he was wrong himself.

Now the one thing i cant find an explanation for and thst is so ooc and horrible to me is his behaviour around Jack at the end of the show. I have to ignore this entire storyline bc it completely contradicts my understanding of who dean is and i hate it so much. But i blame the writers for that. You show us dean reconciling with Jack and then you have him treat Jack as literally nothing more than a weapon bc hes not family anymore all of a sudden? Idiotic.

In conclusion: dean fucks up a lot, sometimes with good intentions sometimes with NO intentions and you can absolutely talk about that without being anti dean. I want to whack him over the head every other ep and guess what? Hes still my second favourite character. Not all dean crit is the same. Saying that dean was in the right in any of these situation is disingenuous.

Watched 11x07. Ugh.

I see what everyone is saying. Things are going too slow. No Carol. No Caryl. The people at the Commonwealth are institutional sadists. Daryl freakin' about to spill at least some of why he is there is stupid. That scene with the man taking them to his family was touching and it definitely set up an opening to paint Leah as whatever Daryl is looking for to gain his trust. But it will be a big mistake if he actually trusts her. If she can defy Pope for herself, Then, what makes Daryl think she will listen to him?

No Carol. Seriously, second billing and minimal utilization is repugnant. Seriously, it reminds me of Rick. That's like him being top billed and getting the tail end of separate storylines, which would never happen. But it is okay to do it to Carol, who has contributed just as much -and more, in my opinion- to the group. What, Maggie, Leah and Carol as prominent females getting equal amounts of screentime is too much? Like, come on already. Of course Carol always has to be the one to get reduced. This is one of the reasons why I am happy TWD is ending.

Ezekiel seems too chipper or am I reading into that too much? Love him dearly!

It seems like your predictions about 11a were right, especially about Leah.

Aaaaannnndddd what if Pope is one step ahead and is suspicious of Leah so he sent a man to spy on her and Daryl and it was reported back to him that Leah didn't follow his orders? I'm sure we'll find out.

I totally hear your frustration about the lack of Carol. I do believe they are building up to something great for her in the next few episodes, but it’s unfortunate that it’s happening so slowly.

As for Daryl trusting Leah, I think it’s a combination of using her vulnerability to his own advantage so he can protect his family, wanting to believe there’s still a semblance left of the person he thought he knew which goes hand in hand with that damn toxic hero complex of his, and also connecting her to Carol to some degree (all discussed in more detail in my review). It’s probably not going to turn out the way he’s thinking lol

Ezekiel is getting the most out of those painkillers. It wasn’t made explicitly clear if the CW understands he needs these things because he has cancer or if he made up another story. Those doctors are shit if the latter is true.

Pope is clearly the type of leader to toy with his people. To what degree, I’m not sure, so like you said, we’ll find out.

The Walking Dead Season 11: Who Lives and Who Dies

This Walking Dead article contains major spoilers.

Many of us thought this day would never come, but as all of The Walking Dead‘s characters know very well, everything that has a beginning has an end. Season 11 of AMC’s flagship zombie drama will be the show’s final run of episodes, but fortunately it’s an expanded season. Fans will get 24 more episodes, broken up into three parts, before the show — and a few of its characters — meets its end.

And it wouldn’t be a season of The Walking Dead without a few big deaths along the way. As we have in past seasons, we’ve made some predictions regarding who will bite the bullet in season 11. For the final time, here are the characters we think are on the chopping block and the ones we believe will live on to remember them after the credits roll on the series finale.

Roy (C. Thomas Howell)

Prediction: Dies

Result: Dead

Roy took an arrow to the face during a Reaper ambush.

Gage (Jackson Pace)

Prediction: Dies

Result: Dead

Gage stabbed himself in the chest twice, attempting to kill himself before being devoured by walkers in a train car. Zombie Gage was then put down with a shot to the head by Gabriel.

Pope (Ritchie Coster)

Prediction: Dies

I’ve never seen a guy more likely to die in the first half of a Walking Dead season than Pope, the leader of the show’s newest villains, the Reapers, who themselves strike me as filler villains for Maggie and Daryl while the real story at the Commonwealth develops. I assume the Reapers will be out of the picture by the time Alexandria needs to turn its attention to the much larger settlement in the second part of season 11.

Pamela Milton (Laila Robins)

Prediction: Dies

The Governor of the Commonwealth is poised to be the final season’s big bad. A bureaucrat hellbent on preserving the way things were before the zombie outbreak, Milton even established a caste system within her settlement to propagate class inequality. She represents everything that was wrong with the world before the fall of society and the complete anti-thesis of how the Alexandrians do things.

If you’ve read the comics, you know how Pamela’s story ends in Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard’s story, but the TV series is known for taking sharp left turns when you least expect it. One thing we know for sure is that the Alexandrians will have to reckon with Pamela’s rule before the series finale.

Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton)

Prediction: Dies

A Commonwealth acolyte and bookkeeper of the community, Lance is one of Milton’s chief personnel, helping her run the settlement’s government. He’s also seems like cannon fodder to me as things heat up between the Commonwealth and Alexandria, an early death that could spark a conflict between the two factions.

Mercer (Michael James Shaw)

Prediction: Lives

Mercer is loyal to the Commonwealth but there are more sides to him than his distinct orange military armor lets on. He’s one of the most interesting characters of the comic’s final storyline, and it would be a shame to lose him before we can see his story through.

Elijah (Okea Eme-Akwari)

Prediction: Lives

Elijah made his debut in one of the most WTF moments of season 10 when he rescued Aaron and Alden from the Whisperers. For weeks after his reveal, people wondered who the man in the steal mask could be. When he returned in the final six episodes of season 10, the show just kind of moved on without fleshing him out, which is unfortunate since he looks so cool! I’m going to assume that the series is saving a big Elijah-focused episode for later in the season and that he’s too awesome to kill off. You don’t just introduce a blade expert in a steel mask for no reason!

Virgil (Kevin Carroll)

Prediction: Dies

Virgil has a lot to atone for after kidnapping and drugging Michonne in season 10. At the end of the season, we learn that he’s found a disoriented Connie in the woods. His redemption arc will likely include helping Connie survive on the walker-infested road back to Alexandria. Will that eventually involve a final sacrifice to save her?

Connie (Lauren Ridloff)

Prediction: Lives

Connie’s been through a hell of a lot in the past season. After surviving an explosion, a cave-in, and an entire walker horde, Connie’s made it out of Whisperer territory but is still a ways from home. Expect part of season 11’s story to be about Connie’s odyssey and ultimate reunion with her sister and Daryl.

Lydia (Cassady McClincy)

Prediction: Lives

Lydia was at the center of Alexandria’s conflict with the Whisperers for a season and a half. With Alpha and Beta defeated, and their faction all but obliterated, I have to wonder what Lydia has left to do on the show. That said, the writers have continued to find interesting ways to explore this character, and someone has to live on to lead the next generation of Alexandrians. I think Lydia is in it for the long haul.

Magna (Nadia Hilker)

Prediction: Dies

Magna was sidelined pretty quickly after her introduction. While a reunion with Yumiko seems like the logical direction for her story, The Walking Dead universe is a cruel one. She could be headed toward tragedy.

Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura)

Prediction: Lives

In season 11, Yumiko is inheriting a major storyline from the comics that likely means she’ll survive the final 24 episodes of the series. Of course, the TV show could always alter that storyline to bring a tragic end to Yumiko’s story.

Luke (Dan Fogler)

Prediction: Dies

It’s pretty wild that Luke has survived as long as he has. A man of the arts hardly has a place in the cruel world of this show, but he has clumsily persevered thus far. But if the writers are planning an especially bloody final season, I’d put Luke on the short list.

Kelly (Angel Theory)

Prediction: Lives

Kelly has been one of the best late additions to the show. It would suck for her to finally reunite with her sister only to meet an unexpected end.

Alden (Callan McAuliffe)

Prediction: Dies

Another candidate for the chopping block. I’m surprised he’s even made it this long.

King Ezekiel (Khary Payton)

Prediction: Lives

Yes, Ezekiel has thyroid cancer, and were he in Alexandria, that would mean his inevitable death. But the Commonwealth is a different ballgame, an advanced settlement in the comics that will likely have the doctors and surgical resources needed to save him. That is, if Ezekiel isn’t caught up in Milton’s caste system.

Jerry (Cooper Andrews)

Prediction: Dies

I love Jerry and don’t want to see the tank with a heart of gold go. But if the season needs an early death that pulls at the heart strings, Jerry is a prime candidate for a midseason casualty.

Father Gabriel Stokes (Seth Gilliam)

Prediction: Lives

Gabriel has evolved so much since his debut in season 5, becoming one of Alexandria’s key leaders. He’s come so far and even survived longer than his comic book counterpart. I’d hate to see him go so close to the end. So I’m just going to say he lives.

Aaron (Ross Marquand)

Prediction: Lives

Aaron seemed destined to die seasons ago, too kind and trusting to survive this long. But here he is, still fighting and surviving. He’s lost the man he loves, his arm, and many friends — and it’s all hardened him into a war machine. It’d be a shame for him to die now.

Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos)

Prediction: Lives

In the comics, Rosita’s head ended up on a pike during the Whisperer war, but her TV counterpart has persevered. It’s difficult to predict where her story goes at this point, but since she survived her comic book death, I assume the show’s writers have something in mind for her in season 11.

Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt)

Prediction: Lives

Eugene has become an unlikely protagonist going into season 11. From a mulleted coward hiding behind his intelligence so that others protect him to the Alexandrian leading his people to the Commonwealth, Eugene is central to the plot of the final season, and I think that means he’s safe. Plus, Eugene is hilarious, and The Walking Dead can always use a little comedic relief.

Judith Grimes (Cailey Fleming)

Prediction: Lives

Result: Lived

Rick Grimes Jr. (Antony Azor)

Prediction: Lives

Nah.

Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan)

Prediction: Lives

I think The Walking Dead is going to end with one last big death, one last sacrifice before the credits roll on the massive zombie drama. Like Rick in the comics, one of the major characters of the TV series will likely become the martyr who inspires change inside the Commonwealth’s walls. Negan would probably be on the short list for this big moment from the comics, a villain finally choosing to do the right thing for a cause bigger than himself, a fitting conclusion to his seasons-long redemption arc. But Jeffrey Dean Morgan recently teased that he was already having discussions with AMC about a potential Negan spinoff after The Walking Dead has concluded, which means the former Savior leader is safe…unless the Negan show is a prequel.

Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride)

Prediction: Lives

This one’s an easy one: Melissa McBride is getting her own spinoff that will follow her character after The Walking Dead series finale. That means she’s safe.

Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus)

Prediction: Lives

Norman Reedus is joining McBride for that spinoff, so he’s safe, too. The actor even told us what the Daryl and Carol show will be about.

Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan)

Prediction: Dies

That leaves The Walking Dead with one logical choice to pick up Rick’s final storyline from the comic. It’s Maggie. It also makes a bit of sense from a logistical standpoint. Lauren Cohan has already left The Walking Dead universe once before to pursue other small and big screen projects. She’s back for the final 24 episodes of the series as a welcome legacy character but that doesn’t mean Cohan wants to stick around for longer than that. I assume Cohan’s returned to bring closure to her character, not to prepare for a spinoff.

okay so i ranked 113 total drama/ridonculous race ships based on how much i like them with explanations below the cut.. fair warning that i’m a lil mean to some of the ships lower on the list.

also i forgot to include dwayne senior and that one girl’s mom from rr because i literally forgot they existed until now, and i don’t want to manually add them in so i’ll just say that i think they’re cute but not super interesting.

EDIT: this has been updated post-roti-rewatch. i switched around the order of a couple ships, and added a new one. if i ever rewatch rr or pahkitew i’ll probably edit it again, but the likelihood of me rewatching either of those seasons any time soon is... ok i was about to say it was slim but it’s probably not

also i’m not ever adding in dwayne and the mom because i like it being a part f the description lmao. an afterthought. as it should be.

109. coderra - i can only deal with this ship in rewrites. i’ve seen super well thought out rewrites of coderra and sierra’s character, but as it stands, i really don’t ship this at all.

108. davesky - dave is an incel lmao. anyway yea this ship initially seemed like bootleg zoke, which was kind of bootleg gwent, but then BOY did davesky get worse. i can’t stand dave and i can’t stand pairing him with sky, either.

107. leonard/sugar - why. i hate both of these characters. no thank u.

106. ella/dave - ok so u know i don’t like dave. i also hc ella as a lesbian, she hasn’t realized it and is dealing with comphet. i don’t like this ship.

105. topher/ella - i hc both of them as gay. they are friends tho.

104. macarthur/brody - in case you’re noticing a trend, i do in fact hc macarthur as a lesbian. i also don’t really care about her at all lmao. anyway, not a fan of this one. i really don’t understand why fresh thought this was a good idea.

103. noah/katie - again, i hc noah as gay, but this ship is more funny to me than anything else because these characters were shipped together so often early on, when they both a) barely had any characterization and b) had never interacted? anyway yea i don’t ship it.

102. cameron/sierra - this one’s weird? literally sierra had a crush on him or whatever because he reminded her of cody even though they’re… nothing alike? dude please get sierra some therapy oh my god

101. heather/justin - i knew someone who really, really shipped them once, which is why i’m including it. anyway i cannot see this ship at all, next.

100. amy/rodney - i guess this existed? i barely remember pahkitew, and i know rodney had a bunch of crushes, but this is the main one i remember so it’s the only one i can be bothered to include. anyway this relationship didn’t seem healthy at all.

99. max/scarlett - i don’t like max and i don’t really care about scarlett, but i also hc both of them as gay, so this is a no from me.

98. gwody - creepy and bad. i don’t trust people who ship this or davesky.

97. dashawn - shawn can do better. that one scene where they look at each other when dave has to kiss the person next to him is kinda funny tho.

96. topher/dave - marginally better than all other dave ships just because topher is there and i like topher. again tho, topher can do much better.

95. malejandro - why does this ship exist.

94. ezekiel/bridgette - not my thing at all. i don’t care about zeke too much, and i have a lot more ships with bridgette that i prefer over this one.

93. cody/beth - i only care about cody in certain contexts, and i practically never care about beth. i wouldn’t click off of a fic if this were a background pairing or whatever, but i definitely wouldn’t seek it out.

92. ezekiel/beth - again, don’t really care about beth or ezekiel that much. but in certain contexts, i can see why this would be cute.

91. courtney/jose - the only way this is cute is alongside aleheather, so that courtney and heather could marry into the same family. but also, why is this a ship that exists?

90. scourtney - i love both scott and courtney, but no thank u. they had absolutely no chemistry, and courtney was using scott both in the competition and as a rebound. not a fan.

89. gwen/cameron - is this a thing that exists? i found a screenshot of gwen kissing cameron on the cheek but is that edited? if it is real, i probably blocked it from my mind.

88. courtney/cameron - now i know this one exists in the weirdest, stupidest way the show could’ve gone about it. barely even qualifies as a ship, and it’s definitely not a good one.

87. duncan/zoey - i kind of see why others would like this one, but at the same time, it doesn’t really appeal to me.

86. alejandro/courtney - i love alejandro and i love courtney. but i can only see them as friends, tho i can see them like. kissing just because they’re bored. or to fuck with people. they did that in the show, right? kind of? i forget the specifics.

85. chris/blaineley - while i guess i can see why people ship this, chref is canon and blaineley is a lesbian.

84. katie and/or sadie/justin - why would katie or sadie date justin, when they’re in love?

83. gwuncan - maybe could’ve been good, but literally everything about how they got together and their relationship in canon has tainted my view of this ship. i definitely preferred them as friends in tda anyway. there’s a lotta cute gwuncan fanart out there so i do rb it sometimes tho. i see why people ship this, i get the potential, but for me it’s soured by world tour.

75. macarthur/josee - i really like the whole rivals to lovers thing, but again, acab. this is higher than sanders/macarthur because of the rivals to lovers, but mostly it’s because there’s only one bastard cop here rather than two.

74. owen/alejandro - i don’t really mind this one, but i see it as more of a one sided crush on owen’s side.

73. lightning/cameron - i don’t really care about cameron, but the jock/nerd dynamic is kinda good.

72. rockspud - they’re definitely a couple, but as the trend indicates, i really can’t bring myself to care too much about rr ships.

71. lindsay/beth - best beth ship, worst lindsay ship. i like one this better if lindsay is also dating tyler.

70. lindsay/lightning - a crackship i made up when i was eleven. i just think it’s really funny.

69. noco - not a bad ship, it’s just not my thing. i definitely see why other people ship it, i just ship both of them with other people.

68. ella/sugar - i see why people ship this as well, but i just really don’t like sugar. i can bring myself to see past that because this dynamic is genuinely good.

67. sierra/heather - i’ve seen this in au’s and rewrites of sierra’s character, and i see the potential. not bad.

65. dakota/zoey - okay so i’m adding this one in as i’m reordering stuff because i rewatched roti. i didn’t have this here initially but their friendship was cute until zoey was all “she’s scary” and voted her off. just saying, if zoey wasn’t written as a hypocrite and was actually written as a COOL character that lived up to the potential of her concept, this would’ve slapped. also i love any combo of dawn, zoey, and dakota, because they’re cute. i’m not including poly ships on here because that’d make things wayy complicated, but i’d be here for a poly ship of these three.

64. scott/zoey - UPDATED. was originally “yea something about this rubs me the wrong way. i feel like if i rewatched roti i would remember what, but i’m not going to do that just for this list. maybe someday.” i ended up rewatching roti for unrelated reasons the next day, and honestly? this one is not that bad. could be cute, potentially.

44. brody/geoff - good ship! putting the romance in bromance. i like this one more when it’s combined with gidgette though.

43. anne maria/vito - originally i put “what is the appeal of this ship? genuinely asking.” as the description, and then an anon sent in this reply: “You wanted the appeal of anne maria and vito? Well here it is; they are both so dumb. Not a brain cell between the two of them. Imagine them trying to do anything domestic like. They could not assemble a bookshelf or make a pot of spaghetti without it turning into a horrible, but memorably fun, mess. 42. lindsay/courtney - lmao their dynamic is so funny. i don’t know how well a relationship between them would go, but i can see court realizing over time that lindsay is a lot smarter than she initially seems to be. idk courtney’s observant and lindsay is actually pretty smart. i can see it happening.

41. trent/justin - best justin ship, worst trent ship (that i can think of. i’m sure there are more trent ships but i can’t think of them lmao). i can see them getting along pretty well! i bet in universe a bunch of drama brothers fans ship them, because of course they do. i can see the potential here.

40. lindsay/heather - yea this one could be good. i’d like to see a post world tour version of this ship, or an island au where they get together. either way, i like the idea of this one.

39. lindsay/gwen - again, this ship is pretty good. gwen was kind of rude to lindsay at points, but i think after she stood up to heather, gwen gained some respect for her. idk i can see it happening.

38. lightning/scott - is this jock/farmer? jock/asshole? i’m not sure, but i really like it.

37. harzeke - tumblr user harzeke has opened my eyes. their posts are enlightening. the reason i kind of like ezekiel. harzeke is a good ship.

36. sadie/lindsay - remember in phobia factor when they were hyping each other up? yeah. they’d be cute together.

35. dundie - you know, i really didn’t expect them to make this one canon, but total drama dundie came outta nowhere. i wasn’t sure i was going to like them together, but fresh pulled together it’s first coherent plot in years and created a beautiful love story. very well done.

33. katie/sadie - after they got over their comphet, they realized they were in love and they end up having a really cute wedding.

32. ozzy - this ship is cute! they’re both bi and i hc they talk about cute people together because of course they do. also they would be so much fun to be around. i like them.

31. dj/geoff - djeoff? yea i like this. i think they’d both go out of their way to do sweet things for the other, but of course, they’re still geoff and dj. dj would probably bake a lot for geoff, but at least once, he’s gotten nervous and dropped it by accident. and geoff practices pick up lines and jokes before their dates but they’re like. the bad ones. dj loves them. anyway! this ship is good.

30. courtney/trent - i really, REALLY love them as friends, but i like them as a ship too! honestly i just love them getting along in any capacity. i think they’d be cute.

29. dawn/dakota - i made this up five minutes ago and i love it. i have no idea if people actually ship this but they should. just… think about it for a second. think about it and then try to tell me i’m wrong. u can’t.

28. alenoah - noah had a crush on alejandro during world tour, and u can quote me on this. i think they would be a power couple for sure. i like this one.

27. gidgette - season one gidgette is amazing. gidgette in the context of the killer bass five is amazing. season two and three gidgette is kind of meh to me, but not horrible i guess! i like geoff and bridgette and i think they’re cute together.

26. duncan/dj - i like the idea of this one. remember when duncan found dj a bunny? yea. they’d be cute.

25. jock - jock is good. rivals to allies to lovers. that’s the path i see this ship going down. i really like picturing them in any sort of au where they can kick ass together.

24. gwourtney - i used to like this one a lot more, but it’s still very good. i love the idea of them both mistakenly attributing their feelings for each other to duncan and accidentally ruining their friendship in the process. and by love i mean hate but also think is a good interpretation of the love triangle. i can see them together in an au, or after seriously reconciling in the future. or, honestly, in any universe where sundae muddy sundae doesn’t exist.

23. leshawna/gwen - did i hear u say best friends to lovers? no? well you’re getting them anyway. leshawna and gwen would be amazing i’m telling u. it’s a good ship.

22. tyler/alejandro - this is the third time i’ve said someone had a crush on alejandro during world tour, but. tyler had a crush on alejandro during world tour. i think they’d make a cute couple.

21. jashawn - this is a relationship built on respect and trust and i am here for that. they’re both a lil weird but neither of them mind, and they care about each other so much… i’m soft.

20. jasammy - i like this only marginally better than jashawn. honestly, i like all three dating the most. but anyway, jasmine was the first person who saw sammy as more than an extension of her sister… she stuck up for her. she was sammy’s first real friend. can i just reiterate… i’m soft.

19. evzy - they would light your house on fire together just cuz they were in the mood. eva bench presses izzy every morning. do not try to challenge them to any sort of competition, they will win by any means possible. eva picks izzy up at every opportunity. whenever they cook anything, they burn it. is this by accident or on purpose? i’m not sure. izzy likes lighting stuff on fire and eva likes eating burnt food for some reason, so it doesn’t really matter. i love their dynamic so much.

18. jomaria - if u were talking shit about either one of them, they would both get together and beat u up. they’re both legends and i love them.

17. gweather - total trauma comic has truly opened my eyes… i really like them in a future setting where they’re both more mature and can understand how they were both in the wrong at times during total drama, and ended up hurting people and were hurt themselves, and work through that together. so basically… in the setting of the total trauma comic.

16. heather/leshawna - rivals to lovers…. au where leshawna and heather get together during tda… i’m telling u it’s a good ship.

15. nowen - imho, this is both the best noah ship and the best owen ship. they complement each other so well. world tour nowen is just. the peak of their dynamic. i think enough has been said about nowen that you can understand why i would like it, so i’m just gonna move on.

14. trody - this one came outta NOWHERE a while back, i’m telling u. but i love it?? i liked their friendship in island, and i just. i love the idea of cody having a crush on both gwen and trent during island, misunderstanding that and thinking he just has a crush on gwen, and realizing after island at some point that he also liked trent. and then trent developing a crush on cody after the breakup with gwen and just… dijfalsfjla honestly i like them in so many contexts. thank u tumblr user gothcody for bringing the trody hype. anyway they’re a good ship!

13. bridgecourt - my favorite bridgette ship! idk i loved bridgette and courtney’s friendship in island, and i can see them having a best friends to lovers type of deal. i just think they’d be cute together, and their relationship would be really healthy and balanced.

12. gwoey - u can try and tell me there wasn’t a little something between these two in all stars, but u would be wrong. their designs compliment each other really well, they’re cute together… i’m a fan.

11. lesharold - SO valid. harold drinks his respect women juice every morning, except for that one time he rigged the votes in island to vote out courtney because he was mad at duncan smh. anyway this is a relationship built on RESPECT and CARE. they’re very cute together, and i love them.

10. dawn/zoey - the superior doey. listen the only reason these two weren’t friends is because fresh decided that zoey was going to think dawn was “weird”? but what if zoey just said that because she didn’t know how to deal with the fact that she found zoey cute… zoey is the epitome of that “i had a crush on a girl and i didn’t know how to deal with it so i sent her a letter that said ‘get out of my school’” tweet. n e way they would be such a good couple.

9. samkota - dafjlsflkaakf i think about samkota and i freak out i’m telling u. like is there anything. ANYTHING. better than a guy loving and respecting his girlfriend unconditionally? and mutual love and respect? … well i mean there are several more entries on this list, so okay, maybe a couple of things, but this shit is galaxy brain right here.

8. aleduncan - ok so apparently something i like slightly more than partners who are soft and even softer for each other is total assholes who care about each other. like alejandro is a gentleman… but he’s a manipulative jerk too. and duncan’s a fucking asshole and i love him for it. anyway when they teamed up in world tour, especially in that episode where they hunted ezekiel (??? what is total drama??) i really liked their dynamic.

7. lyler - ok back to love and respect. tyler and lindsay are so good!! tyler got so excited when lindsay remembered who he was right? and lindsay never stopped asking ppl if they were tyler ok. like she knew she cared about tyler enough to want to be with him even when she didn’t know who he was?? i feel like we don’t talk about the implications of this enough. honestly… i feel like people overlook how much the period in between tyler’s elimination and slap slap evolution must have sucked for both of them? like it was played for laughs but… that shit’s sad :( ok i’m done being sad they’re cute and they love each other and i love them.

6. gwent - yea u got me i still care about them. tdi gwent was really sweet! there was a lil pining. a lil outside meddling. and a lot of cute. and GOD during the finale when trent ran alongside gwen with that boulder? he cared about her so much!! of course action ruined it with the shitty portrayal of ocd and a healthy portion of not fucking communicating with your partner, but before that it was good.

5. truncan - you got me, i like the idea of trent serenading duncan with his guitar and duncan liking it a lot more than he anticipated. i think they’d have a dynamic that’s a little more turbulent than most other trent ships, but less so than most other duncan ships. they’d be a lot more balanced i think. i’m a fan of that.

4. scuncan - okay so u remember how i said i like to ship two fucking assholes together? scuncan is peak asshole/asshole rights. all stars totally missed their chance to have these two team up by dumbing scott down, whatever they did with duncan, and of course, introducing scourtney, i’m just saying. scott was actually playing the game pretty well in roti, and duncan was a veteran of the series. the two of them could’ve dominated the game. those fuckin assholes.

3. aleheather - okay now this ship was like, the only central ship that started out good and ended good in this entire series, except maybe jashawn but they don’t count because they were literally only in 13 episodes. anyway they did rivals to lovers right here. also, they simultaneously gave heather a great character arc and wrote alejandro super well. so the characters as individuals were great at the time they got together, and the couple was great together, so what i’m trying to say is… aleheather was and still is amazing.

2. duncney - in case u couldn’t tell from how high gwent is on this list, i am a fan of the tdi ships. another thing you might be able to tell from this list- duncan and courtney are two of my favorite characters in the series. so of course duncney gets a high placement on this list. not only that, but they go from disliking each other to really liking each other, which is something else that i really like. tdi duncney is opposites attract in the best way, where they compliment each other each other instead of clash. beyond that… ugh. eughhh. i don’t even want to think about that. but duncney in tdi alone earns itself number two on the list.

1. heathney - yes i love girls. yes this ship is pretty fucking basic. and no, there are no heathney fics on ao3. i will be attempting to remedy that. anyway, i could see them pulling a rivals to friends to lovers as well, which is one of my absolute favorite tropes. i think they’d be a total power couple. and to top it off, i love them both. a lot. so much. thank u for ur time.

MSF

I want to apologise to those who have sent me detailed and thought provoking asks about the MSF for not answering them. I have reasons - which I promise are nothing to do with either secret spoilers (I have none! I swear) or whether this ep is good or bad for us. I honestly don't have a clue!

I spent hours going over the trailer frame by frame and I still really couldn't draw any conclusions. I know what I hope happens,but that's not the same as fact based speculation, which you know I am a fan of.

I will say this though (because it's almost 6am, and I fell asleep for 30 mins at 3am and then cant get back to sleep!!) to me the purpose of a MSF is to answer some questions they have posed, and raise some new ones.

Now we know about Dante, and we can see from the trailer they know about him and Siddiq, that scores one big question off the list. We also know in this ep we will find out why Michonne leaves, so that will one sense end and start a story, so I will leave that out as it's not really going to affect 10b events.

We also know that Gamma is crumbling and will give info to Aron, so that's another question answered, which of course then raises howwill that affect the war with the Whisperers.

IMO this is some of the questions raised that we dont know how or if they will be answered:

Will Ezekiel keep his condition hidden now Siddiq is dead? Will he tell Carol? Will they talk and resolve any of the unresolved issues between them.

The trailer shows us they talk, and I think the quote "set you free" over that visual is no coincidence. I do think they will have a resolution of sorts, with Zeke not wanting her to know about his condition or feel obligated to him.

Who released Negan?

This is a huge question for the series, and I am not sure it will be revealed just yet, though I can see it go either way.

If they don't reveal it, then there are more eps of Negan humming up to Alpha and we dont know if he is genuine or not.

If they do reveal it, then we tye audience will be in on the secret that he us going to kill her. Given it's a well known comic story, it is possible they will assume people know that and are happy to let the audience in on it.

It's also possible that if Lydua runs back to her mother, we will need to know Negan is remaining "good" so we can see that he will protect Lydia and they can work together to bring her down.

As I have said, I am convinced Daryl released Negan. I think they want us to think it's Carol as part of her impulsive, do something behaviour, but IMO it doesnt fit. She wants to kill Alpha herself, and she is continuing on a path of she is the only one doing something. I don't see her trusting Negan to doit. Nor do I see her releasing Negan knowing people would to looking for him, and thus distract them more from Alpha.

So I think it is possible in the MSF we learn Daryl released Negan. But it may be a big question they hold off for later in the season.

Which brings me to Caryl.

AK made it very clear, Daryl and Carol's relationship was the heart and theme of this season - for that reason,I don't think there's a chance all their issues will be resolved midseason.

But, I do think they have raised more than one question with Caryl. In essence they have 2 storylines about their relationship- two storylines intertwined and inextricable!

One is their unspoken love for each other. Their bond that clearly has undercurrents of something more. They have been building this UP with Carol's dream, the bracelet, Daryl with the flower on the tray, why not? Etc.

But at the same time, storyline two has been their bond and total trust in each other being pulled apart by Carol's grief and need for revenge.

It seems these two stories are in direct conflict with each other, but in truth they are not. As the more story two happens, the more they are being forced to confront story one.

How these 2 stories will be addressed in the MSF, I honestly am not sure. Obviously from the trailer we know story two is going to be highlighted a lot,which arguments an distrust and possible parting ways. And it is possible that the MSF could end with story 2 reaching a breaking point, of them parting ways in some manner.

However, we must remember story 1 exists and has been built up every episode. They are not going to destroy that jn the MSF. It exists for a reason, not to just be thrown away and the Caryl bond destroyed.

So, I think IF the episode ends with Caryl story 2 at a low point, Caryl story 1 will be at a high point.

How is that possible? Well I think with a break, we would also get irrefutable proof of Daryl's feelings for Carol. Either via his dream, or in a conversation with someone else.

I think they would make it a double cliffhanger, like oh no Carol and Daryl have fallen put, and oh shit it's worse than that, Daryl actually is in love with Carol too!

I do also think that it could just all be good for us, with them doing like the Gamma story - resolving one part and opening up another.

So it's possible they absolutely do resolve the issue of Carol pushing Daryl away and going rogue, and all is good on that front. But they also reveal Daryl's feelings to the audience so we're left with the oooh how's that going to go? cliffhanger.

Essentially I think the one question we are very likely to have answered - no matter the state of Caryl's relationship- and that is "so why isn't Daryl into Connie?"

There were trucks leaving the Kingdom, early enough in the morning so most of its residents would be still asleep. Daryl and you’d been awake, though, wanting to see what was going on and trying to stay out of view, and you had caught some of the guards getting part of the harvest into it.

“Wanna bet who’re they meeting up with?” Daryl muttered to you before the trucks drove away, the King himself in one of them and also Morgan.

They didn’t take long to come back and as soon as he was alone, Daryl went to face Morgan. You were considering following the King, try to talk to him, but you decided to stay with Daryl while he talked to Morgan, just in case...maybe the man would listen to him, or maybe they’d just start arguing.

“You went to see them, right?” Daryl accused the other man, who nodded. “Part of your deal? What the hell’s wrong with you? You’re bleeding, they did that to you, you know what they are.”

“I do.” Morgan kept just nodding and somehow it was frustrating for you.

“Daryl, he’s not going to help us.” There was no point in keep trying to talk with Morgan, he wasn’t going to change his mind now.

“You know, if Carol were here, she saw all that, if she knew about Abraham, and Glenn...she’d be leading us right to them, ready to kill them all.”

You flinched a bit at the mention of the woman who had been one of your best friends but who had left you, but Daryl was right. You couldn’t believe you were going to fight without Carol on your side. Would it be different if she knew? Would have she left anyway? Would have she come back?

“She would,” Morgan agreed. “And that’s why she left, man.”

Daryl scoffed at that and you placed a hand on his arm, walking him away and further into the Kingdom.

“What do you think he meant?” Daryl asked you, frowning as if in deep thought.

“I don’t know...” You shrugged helplessly. “But...after the Wolves attack, after all the people we had to kill, Carol was pretty shaken for a while...”

“So she left? Cos she killed people?” Daryl seemed confused but you were feeling the same and you hadn’t any words of comfort or a better explanation. “Like we were making her kill people?”

“I don’t think it’s like that...I don’t know...”

You two walked in silence, aimlessly through the Kingdom, until you spotted Richard practicing with a bow. The guard was serious and harsh, and you weren’t sure if you trusted him, but you liked that he wanted to fight the Saviours too. At any rate, you welcomed the distraction.

“Look,” You pulled at Daryl’s arm, pointing at Richard. “Let’s see how you can’t shoot a bow.”

Daryl scoffed but followed you.

“I’m practicing. Gonna have to start using these more.” Richard told you without stopping shooting arrows. “The Saviours are smart enough to know I shouldn’t have a gun around them.”

Shooting his last arrow, Richard turned to Daryl and took a crossbow from the table and passed it to Daryl. “Morgan said you’re a bowman.”

You gaped, looking from Richard to Daryl, who took the crossbow after a second of hesitance.

“Why?” Daryl asked, he obviously didn’t trust Richard’s intentions, guessing there must be something behind his actions.

“’cause we want the same things. I need your help.”

He wanted Daryl to go help him ambush some small groups of Saviours that crossed the roads close to the Kingdom from time to time and, unsurprisingly, Daryl agreed.

“Hey, wait,” You grabbed his hand before he could walk behind Richard. “Think it for a minute...we don’t know this man...”

“We know he also wants the Saviours dead,” Daryl said, looking impatient to leave.

“Okay, I buy it, say it’s not a trap...it could be dangerous anyway, you know the Saviours are dangerous.”

“Only in big groups, I already took one of their patrols.” Daryl took his hand out of your grip and you opened your mouth to speak but he stopped you. “Y/N, I’m doing this. It’s bad enough I’m here without helping Rick and the others fight, at least I’m going to do this.”

You let out a deflated sigh, knowing there was no point in trying to change his mind.

“Fine, let’s go.”

“I...I rather you stayed here...” Daryl was looking at you unsure, as if he knew you were going to argue, which you did.

“What?! No! Just no! There’s no way you’re leaving without me!” You stormed, you already were worried about the dangers of the idea, how could he think you weren’t going to go with him? “I’m not letting you go alone!”

“Not alone...with Richard...” Daryl said quietly.

“Yes, right, cos suddenly he’s our friend and we trust him just because he wants the same people than us dead.” You grumbled in frustration.

“It’s not that...”

“What then? I told you it was a dangerous idea and you said no, but you don’t want me going with you...so it’s dangerous or not?”

“Could be, I don’t know!” Daryl was sounding frustrated too. “But if it is, I don’t want you there...”

“If it is, I don’t want you there either.” You retorted. “If it is, I want to be there with you! I’m not letting them hurt you or take you away again, I’m not!” You tried not to cry but it was being hard. “You can’t stop me from going.”

“Y/N, please...” Daryl took a deep breath as if trying to calm down. “You don’t even have a weapon...”

The Saviours had taken your guns and you only had your knife with you, which you knew wouldn’t be that useful against the Saviours, but maybe you could sneak something from the Kingdom...

“Y/N, stay here...Rick wanted us to talk with Ezekiel to change his mind...that’s not...not really my thing...but maybe you could.”

“Yeah, sure,” you snorted. “If you want an excuse try a better one.”

“Just...stay.” Daryl still seemed frustrated but his eyes were begging you. “I promise I’m not going to do anything stupid, just want to see them, do whatever Richard has planned, but if it’s too dangerous I’ll come back, okay?”

“Sure.” You rolled your eyes. You wished you could believe his words, could believe he wouldn’t do anything reckless, but you couldn’t.

“Daryl, are you coming?” Richard called from ahead.

“Y/N...”

“Okay, you don’t want me with you I won’t go without you, I stay here and let the King tell me off again.”

“It ain’t that, you know it...”

Daryl reached out his hand but you didn’t take it, so he let out a sigh and turned, walking away with Richard. You rubbed your eyes furiously, not wanting to cry, and went to see if you could do anything useful.

It didn’t take you long to regret not having gone with him, to have let your frustration win, and you walked to the door, wondering if you’d be still on time to follow him, if they were close enough for you to find them...but you knew it was risky to go out there with only a knife and not knowing which way they had gone.

You regretted you argument with Daryl but not as much as you regretted having let him go to fight Saviours alone. What if they were too many? What if it was a trap? You should be with him. You were supposed to never get separated again...if something happened to him you would never forgive yourself...

You felt like you may just start crying and you kicked yourself, you couldn’t just mope around. Daryl had been right, the very least you could do was to talk to the King. With that in mind, you walked purposely to the throne room.

It didn’t go well, not that you had expected any different. The King had listened to you politely, he was kind, understanding even, but he would not change his mind, and it was obvious he had gotten more and more tired and irritated of hearing you say the same again and again, and finally his guards had escorted you out.

You had even begged, right before leaving, breaking down about Glenn and Abraham, about everything the Saviours had done to your family. Now that you thought about it was quite humiliating. Ezekiel had seemed moved, though, with sweet but too elaborated and extravagant words that still amounted to a no. At the very least you had seen the tiger, who by the way, was called Shiva.

The sun went down and Daryl wasn’t back and you were dying of worry. Maybe you had been right, maybe it was a trap or the Saviours had been too many for Richard and him, maybe Daryl was captive again, or hurt, or worse...You felt it was hard to breathe and you let out a tearless sob, trying to calm down but unable to do so.

Jerry, one of Ezekiel closest guard, had seen you pacing along the walls in distress and had come to see what was wrong. You had told him that Daryl was outside, hiding the fact that he was with Richard trying to take down groups of Saviours, and Jerry had tried his best to comfort you and calm you down, assuring you Daryl would be back soon and that the outsides of the Kingdom weren’t that dangerous.

You liked Jerry, he was sweet and kind, it was clear every fiver of him was good, but at that moment he was unable to make you feel better, and finally, he gave up.

“Don’t worry that much...I’ve seen him all sullen mopping around, sure a day out walking did him good to clear his head and all that things, he’ll be back in a better mood.” He tried to offer you some comfort. “Why don’t you come for dinner?”

You just shook your head and Jerry handed you a piece of cobbler, as if he had guessed you wouldn’t want to leave your post.

“Thanks...” You were truly thankful for his kindness, both for the food and also for his attempts and calming you down, but you were so worried you couldn’t even give him a smile.

The guard patted your arm and left.

When finally, finally, the doors opened and Daryl walked through them, you ran to him, throwing your arms around his neck, holding tight to him. You had tried not to cry but couldn’t help it, you had been so scared and you were so relieved, you couldn’t help your tears.

“Where were you? I was so scared, you were so long out there...the sun went down and I was so worried...”

“I know, I’m sorry...” Daryl held you tight, kissing the top of your head before pulling away to wipe your tears, seeming regretful at having made you cry. “I just...it was unexpected, I...”

He was stumbling over words as if not sure of how to explain himself, which only worried you more.

“Something went wrong?”

“No, it ain’t that...not really...I...” He trailed off and you looked at him expectantly, still worried. “I found Carol.”

“What?”

You were taken aback. Morgan had told you Carol was somewhere near the Kingdom, but you weren’t expecting Daryl to bump into her in the forest...and why she hadn’t come with him? Maybe she really didn’t love any of you anymore, maybe she didn’t want to see you anymore? Daryl noticed your dumbfounded expression.

“I’ll tell you everything, just...not here...”

Daryl was looking around as if not wanting anyone to hear him and took your hand, beginning to walk toward one of the buildings.

“But where’s Carol?” You asked but let Daryl walk you to wherever he wanted, his destination seeming to be the main building. “Is she okay?”

“Yeah, kind of...” Daryl replied evasively, sneaking with you into a part of the building you’d never been in.

“What does that mean, does...she doesn’t want to see me?”

“Ain’t that...”

Daryl opened a door and you found yourself face to face with Shiva, who was in a cage. You had never been this close and for a moment you found yourself lost in her eyes as the tiger surveyed you...she didn’t seem to find you very interesting because she yawned and went to lie down on the ground again.

“What the hell?” You turned to Daryl, looking at him in confusion.

“I found Ezekiel keeps her here during the night.” He shrugged.

“Poor thing, I don’t like to see her caged...” You turned your attention back to the tiger, who was cocking her head at Daryl.

“Don’t think Ezekiel likes it either...but he can’t have her eating half the population.”

“She won’t eat them, she can behave...” You were sure, though you didn’t know Shiva...but she looked so calm with Ezekiel. “And she’s well fed...”

“Can’t be too careful...and she’d give heart attacks to people if she were wandering free.”

“Yeah well...” You turned your attention back to Daryl. “Daryl Dixon, are you trying to distract me with a tiger?”

“I know you like her...thought you’d like to see her closer...” Daryl shrugged, looking down.

“You’re so trying to distract me with a tiger.”

“Did it work?”

“I was scared, Daryl! I was so scared!” You swallowed hard, trying not to cry. “You scared me...I thought...I thought something had happened to you...”

“I’m sorry...” Daryl took your hands, lacing your fingers and lifting one to kiss your knuckles. “Didn’t mean to scare you.”

“I know, just...so...Carol...” You were back at your initial question, trying to calm down. “Is she really okay? Why she didn’t come with you?”

“She’s...yeah, she’s alive and safe, has a house in the woods, not too far... wants to live there alone...” Daryl was explaining to you, though he was frowning like a thousand thoughts were racing through his mind. “She doesn’t know you’re here.”

“You didn’t tell her?”

“No, I...I lied to her...” Daryl seemed regretful and you arched your eyebrows at him, silently asking him to keep going. “About...I told her everyone was safe back home, that none had died...”

“Why you did that?” You didn’t understand. Carol needed to know, Glenn and Abraham were her family too, and as Daryl had said, if she knew, she would come back to help you fight the Saviours.

“She was so sad, Y/N, she seemed so broken...” Daryl’s eyes were so sad and regretful you couldn’t help but pull him closer to you. “Said she’d kill anyone who hurt us...but she seemed so broken about it, Morgan was right...I just...couldn’t tell her about Glenn or Abraham...it’d break her more...”

You couldn’t really understand it, couldn’t understand what Carol was thinking, what she was going through...you wished she’d have told you instead of just leaving, maybe you could have helped her, you would have tried...you were still hurt, you couldn’t deny it, but wanted to help her anyway, and you understood Daryl’s need to protect her from the horrible news too, to allow her to keep living the life she had now chosen.

“It’s okay...if she’s happy that way, if that’s what she wants...then it’s better for her not to know...” Even though it hurt you. “Just...I wish I had seen her too...” You whispered into Daryl’s ear before kissing his cheek and hold him tight. You were still upset, though, so when you felt he had calmed, you pulled away.

“So, you were hanging out with Carol and I was here worried out of my mind.”

“I’m sorry...”

“I know you’re, just...” You let out a sigh, trying to find the right words. “You can’t just go out there and want me to stay behind! It doesn’t work like that...” You still regretted not having gone with him today.

“Could have been dangerous...didn’t want you to take the risk...”

“I didn’t want you either! That’s the whole point!” You couldn’t help how frustrated you sounded. “But we’re going to do it anyway...we take risks, that’s what we do, it’s always been...We’re going to fight the Saviours, but we’re going to do it together, okay?”

Daryl didn’t say anything, just chewed on his lower lip, you knew he was nervous and frustrated too.

“We take care of each other, right?”

Daryl was still looking down but he nodded, finally lifting his gaze to you.

“I don’t want you getting hurt because of me...I don’t want anyone else dying because of me, I don’t want you dying because of me...”

“Daryl...” You were broken-hearted, almost taking all your anger and frustration away. “Nobody died because of you...”

You thought he’d fight you on that, as he always did, but he just shook his head weakly, looking down again and you cupped his face, guiding him closer until he buried his head on your chest and you wrapped your arms around him.

It killed you seeing him like that. If there were a way of making him stop hurting, of taking his pain, and guilt, and blame away...but you didn’t know how to do it.

“I can’t keep doing this...can’t keep getting separated from you,” You whispered, stroking his hair. “First when we lost the prison, then Terminus took you, then the Saviours, and all those times thinking I had lost you...I can’t take it anymore...”

“I’m sorry...” He murmured against your shirt and you kissed the top of his head.

“No, you don’t have to be sorry about that, just...don't try to make me stay behind cos I won’t, I want to go out there with you, I need to...I know you worry about me, and I’m thankful for it, but I worry about you just as much...and I want to kill the Saviours too, Daryl, they took people from me too...”

You already swore you were going to kill them, to kill Negan, for what he had done to Glenn and Abraham, and after what he did to Daryl too...none was going to make you stay away from the fight, not even Daryl, not even if you had to fight with him for that every day.

“I know...”

You didn’t want to keep talking about that, didn’t want to keep thinking about Negan, about the Saviours, and how they had torn up your lives, so you stayed silent and so did Daryl, still holding tight to you.

“I talked to the King.” You said eventually.

“I’m guessing how it went...” Daryl looked at you, his eyes were wet but he gave you a weak smile.

“Yeah...maybe you should actually try to stare him into submission as Rick said...doesn’t work on me but you do have quite a convincing glare.” You said, making Daryl roll his eyes.

“We should leave, we’re losing time here, we have to help the others get ready for the fight.”

“Daryl, the Saviours are looking for you...”

“So what, we stay here hidden forever?” Daryl shook his head in frustration. “I want to fight the Saviours, I have to, I’m not saying here doing nothing any longer.”

“Alright...”

You gave in, partly because he was right, party because you knew him enough to know there was no point trying to change his mind, and you didn’t want to argue more. And you hadn’t been lying when you said you wanted to kill the Saviours...you needed to help your family to fight them and you weren’t going to do it from the Kingdom.

Daryl gave you a half smile, seeming relieved you were agreeing.

“Not to Alexandria, though... first place they’d search looking for you.”

“Could go to the Hilltop...” Daryl suggested though he seemed a bit reluctant.

“Yeah, they were talking about getting ready to fight too...and my brother’s there.”

“Okay, to Hilltop then.”

Daryl tugged at your hand as if impatient to get going but you stopped him.

“There’s no way we’re walking to Hilltop in the middle of the night, Daryl.”

“Alright...” He didn’t let go of your hand, though. “By the way, Richard’s plan was bullshit.”

“I knew it.” You muttered. “What happened?”

“Apparently, the King cares for Carol or something...” Daryl sounded a bit confused and neither you knew what to think of that. “So Richard wanted to kill some Saviours, left a trail to Carol’s house so another group would kill her, hoping that’d make Ezekiel join the fight.”

“I ought to kick that bastard’s ass.” You hissed.

“Already did.”

“Good.”

Daryl snorted quietly and pulled you into his arms again.

“I’m sorry I didn’t take you to Carol...I’m sorry I went out without you...” He began whispering again but you stopped him.

“I don’t want to talk about all that anymore, please, just...let’s go to bed, we have to leave early tomorrow.”

“In a minute...”

Daryl walked closer to Shiva’s cage, pulling you down to the floor with him and wrapping his arm around your shoulder.

“Gotta say goodbye to the tiger...”

“But of course...” You chuckled softly. “Wish she’d be coming to fight with us, half the Saviours would run away.”

“Yeah...Carol said Ezekiel’s alright, talks good about him...”

“If only he joined us.”

Daryl just hummed and before you knew what he was doing, he had stuck his hand through the bars of the cage and was holding it in front of Shiva for her to sniff.

“What are you doing sticking your hand onto a tiger’s mouth.”

“I ain’t sticking it onto her mouth...” Daryl grumbled and you shook your head in disbelieve, chuckling softly when Shiva nuzzled her head against Daryl’s hand like a cat.

“I’m so jealous of you right now.”

“Come on, she won’t bite..you said she behaved, didn’t you?”

Daryl teased and you rolled your eyes but you were dying to touch the tiger and he knew. He took his hand away to take yours and slowly, he guided both your hands to Shiva’s head. The tiger sniffed your fingers and then nuzzled against your hands, even letting out a purr before you took your hands away, and your heart almost melted...unbelievable.

“Remember those kittens we found?”

“Yeah, yeah I do...” You grinned to Daryl...so many time had passed since then.

“Gotta be so big now...”

“I had such a crush on you already and that day I just fell more...” You said softly, enjoying how Daryl blushed at your words.

“Yeah?”

“Yes...tried hard to cut those feelings but they were stubborn and you saving kittens wasn’t helping...”

He chuckled softly and leaned to kiss your lips. You pulled away when you heard Shiva grunting and you opened your eyes to find her sticking his nose through the bars as if waiting to be petted again.

“Well, you’re good with her.” Morgan walked into the room, not seeming very surprised to find you there. Probably Daryl hadn’t been so discrete in his hustle to get you there as he thought he’d been. “Ezekiel’ll be impressed.”

Neither he seemed surprised Daryl had found Carol, just as you were unsurprised of him once again declining to ask Ezekiel to join the fight. Without much more to say to him, you say goodbye to Shiva and went to bed.

I understand him, after what he went through, but I think in the show they took it  abit too far, sometimes he almost didn’t seem himself to me (like killing people who surendered) alas, he’s very traumatised, so I can’t really tell....I just want to hug him.
