Good morning to everyone, except Netflix who keeps cancelling perfectly good shows for no fathomable reason. Fuck you in particular actually.

ohohohohohoho love when characters get premature/supernatural gray and white hair………yes please symbolism of the trauma you go through changing you physically.. wearing you out.. brushing with death in ways that prematurely age you……yes…..

So I guess the moral of the story is if you have an idea for an LGBTQ+-friendly fantasy drama/comedy, don’t pitch it to Netflix

It's hilarious to me how much the second half of the show seemed to want Lockwood specifically to suffer. Three instances come to mind in particular: at Winkman's, at the auction, and the fight with Joplin.
Winkman's in the book: Lucy and Lockwood snoop around, get caught, get thrown out
Show: Lockwood gets ELECTRIC CHAIR TORTURED
The auction in the book: Lucy and Lockwood’s plan works fairly well. They still jump into the Thames, but all in all, it goes according to plan
Show: a DEPRAC agent with a family gets MURDERED and Lockwood has a PANIC ATTACK because he feels at fault
Fight with Joplin in the book: Lockwood has a few scrapes from the fight with the thugs, comes and saves Lucy, George, and Kipps. The gun doesn't go off.
Show: SHOOT HIM AND HOIST HIS COLLAPSED BODY UP THE CATAFALQUE

sorry. okay. thinking about. locklyle and how they're portrayed in the show. cause like. it really doesn't feel like a typical ship that a show would produce? it's much more.... more. it's nit like. hyper emotional scenes and drama and tension between them. some of the most prevailing and iconic scenes for locklyle is them caring for esch other. it's lockwood steadying lucy as she's stumbling through a possession. it's him leaving a note to drink water and eat after passing out. it's lucy gripping his neck, telling him he'll be alright as he feels the world close in on them. it's him bandaging her wound. it's him making her toast. it's all so mundane and it feels less like we watch them fall in love and more like. they've always been in love, and we get to see their lives. we get to watch them as they find someone who cares as much about them as they do the other person. i'm just. idk i miss them so much

trying to get my roommate into lockwood and co and midway through the first episode she goes “okay I know I make everything about capitalism so I’m trying not to but…” and I literally had to cut her off and be like “no that’s exactly what it’s about”

Frankly Lucy seems more excited about the potential return of her terrible emotional support ghost than getting gifted a romantic necklace.

they officially cancelled My Lady Jane after only one season because it apparently “didn’t find a broad enough audience”. i’m disappointed but not surprised, unfortunately it’s just one more name in the very long list of too-soon cancelled shows with incredible potential.
