A non-exhaustive list of things I accidentally predicted in Just Dance

In honor of my current fic being known as "the time I accidentally sorta predicted Night Swan taking ALL the Just Dancers in JD24 story mode with this idea coming to me in early to mid 2023", here are some other things I predicted:

Mihaly turning into a panda: in my fic about Mihaly's childhood days, there was a running joke about Mihaly becoming convinced they'd become a panda when they grew up. While the idea came to me earlier than that, it was first published in my fics on August 10th, 2023, weeks before Never Be Like You leaked in mid-October.

Mihaly looking up to Night Swan because they liked ballet, rather than any more sinister/shady reason: when we first saw the Night Swan poster being ripped in Never Be Like You, my first instinct was to make jokes about how they had it up for target practice. But then, I wrote it into the fic (twice) that there wasn't anything shady in their past, they just REALLY liked ballet. First hinted at in a oneshot published on October 14th 2023, then in my book about Mihaly's childhood on November 25th that same year, I definitely breathed a sigh of relief during littlesiha's lore week when Aurore confirmed it was due to her "dance skill, charisma, and elegance".

Payphone having a split screen that showed where Rasputin was during the wedding while The Bride destroyed everything on the other side: I have no comment. I am still just in awe. This was from June 1st.

Calling that the official Eva Chase loredump using Telephone's footage was a red herring, and Rasputin was still the one to break the Gaga coaches out: this was a private conversation so unfortunately I don't have the receipts for this one, but my exact words - dated July 19th at 1:22 PM, were "I'm just not gonna panic about it until I hear the words 'Eva broke them out in Telephone' explicit". This was of course LONG before we saw the ending of Payphone that suggests he was involved after all.

Bang Bang showing Epsilon's face: Also a private conversation, which took place over a call, in which I said something to the effect of "the leakers probably aren't showing us much of Bang Bang because there's something they wanna 'gatekeep', like either showing us who his ex is or showing his face". Not long after, we got the preview showing his face. Admittely this one is less cool because I'm pretty sure the avatar with the half-face-reveal had leaked by this point but SHHH I'M COUNTING IT

K/DA (specifically Seraphine) perhaps being a little less noncanon than initially stated: During Aurore's official interview, the K/DA routines were specifically singled out as being non-canon, along with the Disney routines. My response was to just...ignore this, and have one of the characters prominent in my fic series just casually cosplay Seraphine and dance to MORE. This came out at the end of August 2023. And wouldn't you know it? Seraphine's avatar shows up on a card in Poker Face alternate, quietly implying that K/DA and Seraphine DO exist in the Danceverses in some capacity (likely as fictional characters in-universe as well, but I'm not expecting it to be addressed officially).

Grace breaking up with Ari but eventually getting back together: I had spent summer 2023 writing a fic about the Wannabe coaches being superheroes in high school, with Ari as the antagonist. Just one of those ideas that started as a sarcastic joke, but I inadvertently got attached to it, y'know? Anyway, in the finale of the fic, Grace dumps her for her actions, but they get back together during a timeskip. Now, this was before even VAMPIRE came out, or was even leaked - although I did later incorporate Vampire into it as a bonus chapter shortly after 2024 Edition's release because- I'm gonna save that tangeant for later actually and move onto how much I lost my freaking mind when Grace and Ari were revealed to be going through a rough patch in canon. One Last Time matched that even further when Grace dumped Ari, but then got back together with her.

Lilith being WLW: What can I say? I knew in my heart that that wasn't a straight woman all along. I talked about my WLW ship involving Lilith on September 2nd 2023.

Whenever, Wherever coming: I had saved Whenever, Wherever to my Spotify with the idea of potential Just Dance ties back in April...which was before even the ESRB accidentally revealed it.

Conclusion: Y'all gotta start listening to me more often /j

What's your favourite episode of 13's run and why?

Ok! I surprisingly enough do have a favorite episode… but it’s by such a small margin I’ve made an executive decision to talk about 2 other of my favorites episodes and then a few honorable mentions and why I love them

I’m half sorry for how long this is, I’m fully sorry for the fact that it took a while to actually put my thoughts to words

We’re starting with my absolute favorite because that’s what was asked lol. The Power Of The Doctor is my favorite episode, the plot is fun but it’s really the characters that make me love it so much! Every character that shows up is used really well.

Yaz is absolutely the star of the episode. I love her in every episode but especially in this one she shines a lot. She takes charge so well and really does fill the docs shoes with flying the tardis and making the plans and all that jazz. Her interactions with everyone is amazing to watch but especially the master, their dynamic is so interesting to me! Mandip also does a great job portraying emotions in this one- her anger at the master, and sadness about 13 regenerating in particular is one of my favorite parts. Also yaz with a gun is hot, and I fully believe she woulda shot the master if he gave her a reason so this episode would be in my top five just for that

Speaking of the master! This is 100% his best appearance. The dancing, the outfit, his interactions with yaz being a mix of cruel and endearing, in a way? Maybe that’s not the right word… interesting at the very least. The way he talks to her like they’re friendly, like they both know the doctor very well… kinda like they’re two sides of the same coin, in a way?

13 is lovely in this episode. A) I ADORE the navy version of her coat and am so happy they brought it back in the inbetween cliff (or whatever that was) B) her regeneration might just be one of my favorite scenes, even if it pains me to watch (ignoring 14’s existence for this) and the hologram is so smart (btw does yaz still have that? Do you think it activates still?) also love the fugitive doctor appearance even if it was hologram form. Her comforting yaz, their conversation, the icecream <333333

Love ace and Teagan and vinder, they’re all great but especially ace is SO FUN and I love her interactions with graham(did they flirt?) who btw, I love that he was right back! Too bad Ryan isn’t there tho, it’s fun to see how the dr leaving affects the companions, the bitterness Teagan holds is definitely a really fun bit that I’m glad they included. Also Kate is amazing as she always is! Dan wasn’t that bad either but I’m still glad he didn’t stick around

Also! I really like the plot! I saw someone complain about having all 3 cybermen, daleks and the master in the same episode but honestly it was just super fun- and the master was really the main villain with the cybermen and daleks as minor/background/subvillains. I much approve fun plots over anything else and having the master dance to Rasputin is very fun!

Onto The Woman Who Fell To Earth!

Yes, 13’s first and last appearance are my favorite episodes! This will be much less in depth but I did recently rewatch this one so it’s as fresh in my mind as the first.

I really like how… snappy they all are, in a weird way? The fam kinda mellow out through the series, especially Graham. Theyre all somewhat aggressive in this one and it’s very fun! It’s too bad grace died… she’d have made a great companion

Also the plot, the plot is great. 13 making her own sonic, not remembering who she is but knowing she has to help people, picking up the first humans she sees (which she has a habit of throughout the series, lol), being super smart! Just lovely! Also her in a suit is hot

“I’m calling you yaz, cuz we’re friends now.” Is 100% one of my favorite quotes too

Also Swiss army sonic should’ve been a running gag, it’s funny! I think that’s everything- my thoughts on this episode are very disconnected but oh well

My third favorite: the witch finders!

I’m not actually sure why I love this episode so much? Actually yes I do, soaked 13 is hot- that’s not the only reason tho, promise.

The fam is great, as always, but especially yaz this episode. It portrays how kind she is really well! 13 experiencing sexism and being pissed about it is also really cool, I kinda wish we got at least one other episode where it happened but I understand why we didn’t . Also the king being gay for Ryan is funny as fuck and I didn’t notice it my first watch

The background(side?) characters are also really good- the possessed lady is a fun antagonist, and the king is wonderfully incompetent at his job.

Also 13 telling them not to interfere and then immediately interfering is fantastic. I don’t think I have much to say about this one? I just really like it

Honorable mentions!

The timeless children, solely for the scene with Graham and yaz being family and for yaz being halfway to the portal by the time Graham is done asking who’s first- tbh this is my least favorite appearance for the master and I think the cybermasters are stupid so

Arachnids in the uk I love yaz’s family, i love jade, i love that the bitch ceo gets schooled by women in stem and yaz’s mom, i like that when asked if she and the doctor are together yaz’s response is “we’re [just?] friends!” But when asked the same about ryan it’s a very emphatic “no!”, I love “more of the universe… more time with you.”

Demons of the punjab “we can’t have a universe with no yaz!”, young umbreen is so much like yaz it’s amazing, i love yaz in this episode (this, ive realized, doesn’t say much, I love her in every episode), the plot is really fun and again i love yaz’s family

The legend of the seadevils my beloved gays. The characters are all really fun, the plot is great, all the thasmin moments I love and they hurt my heart, and Dan has a stupid outfit!

Eve of the daleks once again: my beloved gays! The plot is so fun, and even though the side characters aren’t my favorite I still really like them

Fugitive of the judoon FUGITIVE DOCTOR MY BELOVED <333333 also Jack is cool

Oh also My least favorite is resolution because it’s boring. Ok I think that’s everything… hope you don’t regret asking!

Questioner: What was it like bringing a comedic edge to such a scary character in the flight attendant?

I’m classically trained and I did an Epsom play not known for it comedic tendencies, and the review came out and said Michelle Gomez plays one of the funniest performances in the Master Builder by Epsom, and I was like WHAT? I was quite offended, I don’t know I’m being funny is my answer to your question. Miranda in flight attendant was not meant to be funny she was meant to be very scary, thank you. (Laughing)

Questioner: Sacha when I was in line for my photo I asked about the Rasputin dance and you said you were saving it, is now the time?

Sacha: is it the time? You know when I did the dance I thought it was written in the script… but it wasn’t and for some reason I thought it said ‘the master dances’ I realise now everyone who was there that day must have been thinking ‘what is he doing?’ I don’t think I’ll be able to bust those moves out again. I remember we had 5 minutes to shoot that scene and under pressure it’s amazing what shapes you throw, I remember not being able to walk the next day.

Question asker: I think that’s the best Master moment to date… both cheers and boos from the audience, and a lot of laughter.

But obviously being the Master I thought there’s no way I’d ever be the Doctor so it was amazing that the opportunity came up and I LOVED IT. But I did realise the Doctor has way to much pressure, the Master can come in mess things up then leave because I don’t have to worry about the mess but the Doctor then has to clean it up, so as much as it was nice doing it for a bit I was happy to give it back to Jodie.

Questioner: What are your next projects?

Michelle: We have a strike at the moment so nothing.

Sacha: I’ve got a show coming out in the UK called Wolf it’s a dark detective series with a a black comedy element to it it comes out in July I think

Michelle: and are you playing a Wolf?

Sacha: I think not necessarily just with me as the Master or with Jodie, I think being part of Doctor who this time around it felt like the show creates some extreme worlds but it keeps an eye on what’s going on in the world generally and I think that’s, I’m really proud to be a part of it in that way. I’ve mentioned earlier I wanted to be part of the whoniverse maybe years earlier but actually being part of it this time round felt right and I kind of, even though I have some extreme storyline’s with Jodie about Gallifrey, I don’t know, I always thought about what was going on in the world and I think the show reflects that and I wanted to reflect that in my performance as well so I feel immensely proud about that.

Michelle: similarly for me it really felt like it was time to shake things up, why can’t the master be a woman? Be a mistress? And I felt like I got a lot of love from the transgender community and I get it, I understand it, like being an Uber nerd growing up and not feeling like I fit in, so I felt like I was paying homage to that in a big way. It felt like it was time, like it was current. Steven Moffatt always said it was the best person for the job at the time it didn’t matter (if it was a man or a woman)

Let’s just say our little spy master isn’t afraid let his feminine self shine, lol. They have a really funny and flirty chemistry together.

They were sat next to each other at the autograph tables with a volunteer between each actor, Sacha and the volunteer swapped spots so Sacha and Michelle could sit next to each other where Michelle proceed to write on posit notes and throw them at him, and they were quiet funny together sitting there.

Immediately I think about my Basil headcanons because he’s my favorite

basil headcanons I have:

-Basil and Polly have a found family relationship and nobody can convince me otherwise (I HATE BASILS PARENTS <3 <3)

-Basil actually has some decent muscle on him from frequent physical activity out in the garden, I also headcanon that he and Aubrey do workouts together post good-end as a way to bond and rebuild thier relationship

-Basil is vaguely spiritual in a casual way..like, he believes in herbal remedies and many different luck or good-will superstitions, he’ll put out bushels of rosemary and light incense and hang a horseshoe over his door, stuff like that (it helps with the paranoia)

-Basil goes to coffee shops and orders the worst tasting most high caffeine drinks imaginable, like you’d expect him to go for something sweet but Basils not actually that into sweets since too much sugar gives him a headache, and he does get awful caffeine jitters of course but refuses to stop drinking coffee “it helps he focus” he says (it doesn’t)

-Basil can dance. If you can convince him to actually get out there he will TEAR UP that carpet like it’s nobody’s business, nobody knows where he learned that and the first time he and the gang all go to a party together Kel and Aubrey are just left flabbergasted watching him absolutely KILL IT to Rasputin on a Saturday night

-I headcanon Sunny as trans FTM… am I projecting? Maybe a little…

-Sunny is a really sore looser when it comes to games, do not play monopoly with Sunny he won’t even look at you for days, and don’t even THINK about Mario kart with this guy

-Sunny has high tolerance for horror content and is constantly consuming some form of horror media, everyone hates when it’s Sunny’s turn to pick the movie on movie night because he will find the goriest stuff imaginable (he knows Basil and Kel are wimps, he thinks it’s funny)

-Sunny can be incredibly insightful out of the blue, like you’ll say something to him about a problem you have and he’ll drop the soundest advice you’ve ever heard (he and Mari got that from their mom)

-Aubrey hosts a monthly “rage night” out behind the Othermart where all her friends get together and break stuff, they drag out wooden crates and old furniture and occasional a personal item they’d like destroyed and just smash it with bats and pipes and whathaveyou

-Aubrey was the one who shaved the side of Kim’s head, Kim’s mom was not happy

-Mikhael secretly loves baking, he just won’t admit it because he knows his siblings will tease him for how he’d been acting

-Kel goes to party’s, accepts drinks, then pours them out when nobody’s looking and pretends to be drunk when he isn’t

-Kels first car was an old station wagon, surprisingly he’s an incredibly responsible and good driver, he’s also everyone else’s chauffeur for several years until the rest of the teenagers in town get thier licenses

I'm sad so here's some music headcanons for Destiny 2 characters, assuming music remained intact since the pre-Golden Age:

- Cayde: ofc I'm starting with him. I feel like he'd listen to a bit of everything to be honest (I'm projecting so hard rn), but most of the content of his playlists would be "european childhood" songs (idk what else to call them), 80's music and white girl music. My boy would absolutely kill it at an ABBA karaoke night. He knows every single move to the Just Dance Rasputin dance (he learnt when he was a human, but don't tell him that. He likes to think he came up with it), which only fueled Andal's jokes about him being Rasputin (the warmind, not the dude). Oh and he listens to Hozier when he's Feeling™.

- Eris: my favorite goth. However, i feel like she'd mainly go for the loud stuff, to drown The Voices™. Real loud. Like, Deep Purple loud. Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath are on the list as well, she likes to vary. As for the goth, perhaps some Nine Inch Nails. The Cure, definitely. She really likes how russian songs sound. Saint thinks she's weird.

- Ikora: other than the occasional heavy metal music sesh with her gf (she specifically enjoys Metallica), she's really into lofi. I know, i know. Polar opposites. But she's stressed, ok? She also wouldn't say no to some bedroom pop/alternative/indie. I can picture her listening to Rex Orange County.

- Zavala: Zuzuvela! Classical music, who would've guessed. A bit cliche, i know, but hear me out. I like to think man's learned to play the piano when living with Safiyah, and used to play Für Elise for her. He still plays it now when he's feeling down. Are you crying yet? I am. Anyways, we all know he listens to Shaxx's tapes as well.

- Amanda: everything about her screams rap to me. But like, all rap. From Eminem to Tupac to Nicki Minaj to Kendrick Lamar. Imma throw Tyler, The Creator and Childish Gambino in as well because that's my personal Holy Trinity. Kendrick, Gambino and Tyler. In that order, iykwim.

- Crow: now this guy, he's the definition of "a bit of everything". Hozier. Soooo much Hozier in this guy's wrapped. If you look closely you might spot some Will Wood and Mitski. Oh and, ofc, the queens as well: Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Britney Spears, etc. Now that i think about it, he would make a great Y2K girl, but that's between me and God.

Clement would be like yeah tbh I saw that one coming too.

Rose is an orphan!!! So!!! No parents there to disappoint! If I had to guess though I think her mom would be fine with it and her dad would be upset bc he arranged her to Rhoam.

The entire staff of Hyrule Castle would host a big blowout party about it. Mari would help with the wedding plans.

Sorcerous Reviews: Reign of Winter

Reign of Winter is a very well written adventure path, but it is absolutely not a good fit for many tables. I found this out the hard way.

What You Will Need:

A functional understanding of D&D 3.x/Pathfinder 1e's (aka D&D 3.P's) environmental rules.

A desire to play a survival game (i.e., treat all resources as precious).

Experienced players who all have some familiarity with the Romanovs, Rasputin, and Russian Fairies/Fairy Tales.

Reign of Winter's emotional stakes are initially set in dealing with a climate crisis (The Snows of Summer). You can choose to deal with this in one of two ways. If you go about it as written with the players not having specific defenses against hypothermia, blinding precipitation, and snowdrifts, then it becomes a "man vs. nature" drama. If instead every player plays a race with Cold Resistance or picks up the campaign trait that gives Cold Resistance 2, then suddenly you're playing D&D but with hampered movement (with only snowshoes and freedom of movement fixing that problem) and poor visibility (but in a way D&D doesn't handle: in all of third edition, PF included, there are very few ways of seeing through precipitation, but plenty to see through darkness). This gets annoying very, very quickly.

The plot and setting gradually filter in -- and it becomes painfully clear that this is very much The Russian AP. Pathfinder 1e takes place roughly around the turn of the century, with the year this came out falling shortly after the Russian Revolution. Baba Yaga's Dancing Hut (in all editions of D&D) is a TARDIS: it's a semi-sentient, mobile building that is bigger on the inside and can warp to nearly any destination. Combined, that means you go to Earth, with lots and lots of setup in Russian folklore. I don't feel comfortable playing or running this game anymore because I am not familiar enough with the background information to do it justice. That said, it doesn't really kick in until the third module. I mean, there are lots of fey and there are lots of fey that aren't Russian (there's a huldra at one point, plus sprites and atomies, and such). But you'll get the most bang for your buck if you know your Russian fairy stories.

Part one begins with the party in Taldor having to investigate a localized cold snap and snowfall in a nearby forest (in the middle of summer). It turns out that this is due to a portal that's been opened to Irrisen, the magically frozen land of witches. The party cannot close the portal from this side, nor can they make it back through the portal once they attempt to close it. Leaving Irrisen is a very difficult prospect on its own, but they can do so via the Dancing Hut -- save that it has a mind of its own, will only go to certain places of its choosing, and won't budge until the players find certain keys in its inside (which changes configurations at each stop, so it's a mini-dungeon).

The travel goes across Avistan (international travel; though you cross the majority of the continent, it's still intracontinental), then to Iobaria (intercontinental), then to Triaxus during its winter period (interplanetary, but same solar system), to the Earth (interstellar and possibly intergalactic), and finally through Matryoshka-themed layers of the Dancing Hut itself. If your players decide they don't want to do this and they want off the ride, well, tough shit, right? There's no exit point and none have the means of wresting complete control of the Dancing Hut (a Major Artifact) from anyone.

The farther you get in the module series, with the main exception being Triaxus, the more Russian it gets. Everything is about winter, hence Triaxus, but things which aren't taken from Russian folklore gradually start to fall away. There's not a whole lot of room for anything else: it will just distract unless it's also cold-themed. You could insert Siberian, Inuit, Finnish, and Scandinavian tidbits if you wanted, but they would still detract from this being a story about Baba Yaga and things of her ilk.

TO KILL RASPUTIN

So, a few things to point out here.

First of all, there is a long-standing complaint in third edition especially that everything resists fire. This is mostly true: if you are going to resist an energy type, it's almost always fire, followed by cold. Since the vast majority of attacking spells that deal energy damage deal these two types, they're considered suboptimal choices; you're better off selecting acid (no spell resistance, since it's Conjuration instead of Evocation), force (almost nothing resists force), or sonic damage...if you can find them. There aren't very many force effects that deal damage outside of magic missile and some levels of the Bigby's hand series; there are more spells that deal sonic damage, but they're largely isolated to Bards; and acid spells are more common still, but also more likely to be resisted.

Except in this campaign, since 90% of the monsters you face will have some form of winter template on them, giving them immunity to cold but weakness to fire. FIRE IS NOW SUPER-EFFECTIVE! The casters? They also frequently cast cold spells.

This is just obvious from the front cover, though.

What isn't obvious is how well encounters are designed. The initial setup in Taldor is essentially a five-room dungeon, but it's set outside. You have a wide variety of encounters in this introductory bit. From there, you move to an actual dungeon (the tower of the mage responsible for the portal to Taldor). After some travel and interesting side-encounters, you eventually reach the capital, which is very tricksy to get through on its own and then has dungeon-esque levels needed to get to the Dancing Hut. Maiden, Mother, Crone, the third part, takes place in a triple-dungeon that requires lots of switching between parts (kinda like the Spirit Temple in Ocarina of Time).

And then there's part five: Rasputin Must Die! If there is any incentive for playing this AP, it's killing one of the most infamous people of the previous century and playing up the mythos that's grown up around him.

My Experience

I had the benefit of running this during a very bitter winter. However, I didn't realize that this was not a newbie-friendly module up front, as I should have by its title. I was running it for newbs: no one in the group had ever played a TTRPG before. To make matters worse, I was on a time limit (one of them would be moving), so I decided to skip through a lot of it and jump them up to the point where they could face Rasputin...only to find out that none of them knew who Rasputin was and those who had seen Anastasia (the '90s cartoon) had forgotten they had. This resulted in me improvising a smidge, which no one ever wants me to do. (I threw them against a Dread Gazebo riding a Grassy Gnoll because it was going to be more fun for them.)

The worst part was that I had a party of seven players, which is not great for most tables and certainly not good with a group of new players. This part was not my fault, as the setting up of the campaign was a mutual effort with a friend and I couldn't get out of it. (This is especially true given venue: we had to keep shifting apartments we played at, which meant that everyone but me and one other player hosted several sessions at different points. I couldn't because I live with my parents.) They were not a bad group, but balancing play among seven players is difficult at the best of times and seven newbies is much harder.

"But Sorcerer, how can you make these assertions if you skipped so much of the AP when you ran it?"

First, I've read through the module series enough to know this much. I would have been prepared to run the entire thing had we had the time for it, but some of the players going in (including the more engaged ones) didn't realize that D&D campaigns can last months to years.

Second, this is the wide consensus in reviews I have read. Every review I have ever come across about this AP says that it is well done, but it's on rails and you are strapped in until the ride is over -- and you'd better know your Russian stuff, because if you don't, half of what's going on will not make sense. Your only real exit point is after you have closed the portal (in module 1) and before you've gotten into the Dancing Hut (in module 2), as you have the potential to leave Irrisen if you try.

However, doing so is a feat unto itself and you're still in the middle of the Hoarwood; your best chance of reaching regular civilization is to Varisia in the south, but you have to pass over the Kodar Mountains (which are treacherous -- see the end of AP 1) and then are in the middle of nowhere, Varisia. If you go east, you're in the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, which isn't much better (the government is less out to get you, but it's still fucking cold). Going west is a much longer trek and puts you in the Lands of the Linnorm Kings (so still cold). North is the worst idea. All by foot or similar land travel.

The trouble with that is that Irrisen is essentially a prison for all of its citizens. Baba Yaga and her armies of cold and fey descended upon the place and took over; her descendants, the White Witches, rule the area with a cold fist. The land is brutally cold -- to the point of ecological collapse, though somehow certain vegetation survives. Humans are treated worse than anything and natives are not allowed to leave. Trade is vitally important to keep the country alive, but it is also heavily monitored and the roads and borders are guarded more intensely and violently than any others in Golarion. It would be "no one in, no one out" if it weren't for the necessity of trade, which I think is more a logical/logistics error on the part of the game designers than anything; if climate weren't the means by which the White Witches controlled the country, but they still had the same level of power, then the country would be completely sealed off save for whenever it tries to expand. (The whole plot of Reign of Winter, in fact, is predicated on such expansion.)

Thus, it's much, much easier and more entertaining to just go along with the AP than to fight it. This means every player should be aware of all of this up front. Dangling the morsel of killing Rasputin is definitely incentive to play something so railroady.

Suggested Characters

Everything Irrisen is winter, be it the white witches, standard snow animals, or winter fey. If you want to blend in (for a module and a half), there's an idea. This doesn't make sense in the context of starting in Taldor, though.

Obviously, if you are highly skilled at pyromancy, you will not only kill basically anything that comes your way (with few exceptions), but you will also be surprisingly adept at keeping your party alive outside of combat.

There are multiple big animals to tame, so if you're wanting to ride a war weasel or an elk, you're good. These will probably help you move better than you would otherwise. By contrast, if you're a flyer, you're still in for a rough time, given that flurries, blizzards, and snow whipped up from wind are common.

Again, I would not suggest having multiple players with cold resistance, since that defeats a lot of the point and makes the AP more annoying than gripping. Instead, if you're going to have your Legolas/Serafina Pekkala/tiefling, only have one so that you have a panic button in case the rest of the party runs into problems. There will be magic items along the way to assist with all such problems anyway, so what drama there could be you're throwing out to be annoyed until all of the thematic conditions become trivial.

The Cult of Milani features in part two because of how oppressed the humanoid citizens of Irrisen (almost all humans) are under the reign of the White Witches. Indeed, there is a caste system that places at the top the White Witches, then non-witch descendants of Baba Yaga as a sort of nobility, then winter monsters (Wikkawaks, Winter Wolves, Winter Wolf lycanthropes, Ice Trolls, and others), and far below them native humans. Winter fey are adjacent to the caste system, as they mostly don't want to participate in it, but they're just as evil and murderous as anything else. A divine caster of Milani and any type of monster-hunter (e.g., Ranger) or liberator class (e.g., Paladin of Freedom) would fit well, especially as a back-up character in case someone dies before leaving Irrisen.

You're kinda on your own for coming up with a new character once you get to Iobaria, as the only times you'll be interacting with locals after that point are on Triaxus (so Triaxians) or Earth (at which point you're speaking Russian instead of Common).

Anyone who saw my previous music tag will know I love synthwave and Timecop1983 is one of the firsts I've found and love in this genre. I do not remember where I heard this song before but I love it so much. Possibly spent all of 2020's summer listening to this album's instrumental version.

I am a huge Tool fan. I listened to their albums since high school. I do not listen to them a lot anymore because their songs are heavy and they send me into deep thoughts. I do not want to be that moody all the time but they are the answer when someone asks what's my favourite band. And this album, this song, it's a masterpiece in the genre.

R is for Rasputin by Boney M.

So this song, I love it so much. Not only I learned about this man named Rasputin thanks to it, it is so wonderfully 80s. It is a song about the murder of a man and it's so cheery, I don't know. It makes me laugh, dance and think all at the same time. Love Boney M. as well!

I know I probably have the most eclectic taste in music but I can't commit myself to only one genre!

- Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You) is just a really solid and fun map, especially for workouts. I don’t really know what else to say except Brezziana my beloved <3

- DJ Got us Fallin In Love is also fun! Not one I’d search up as a must-dance if I’m dancing solo but I think it’d be a good one to do as a duo or group!

- Confession: I’ve never danced Rasputin. Ever. So I really struggled with parts of the chorus of I Am My Own Muse. Really fun to dance tho! I just need to figure out how to do those few moves and then try again to get the full experience

- Wasabi is so fun! A bit harder to follow than the others though, due to the animation. Especially in verses, the contrast (or lack thereof) was an issue. Still very fun though!

- Tainted love my beloved. Love the cover, love the dance, what more can I say

- I danced Cervaco Amore because my friend recommended it to me and it was so fun! High energy but mostly not too complicated, the perfect song to end this session on! I did immediately wanted to dance it again, but I’m just so tired now so I’m not going to. Next time, though! This one’s a keeper!

I can’t pick just one. Because it depends on who I am talking to and about what kind of Genre we are discussing. Clearly I have a very... eclectic range of music and this is pretty tame for an average playlist.

…so just dance has even more ties to the Greek myths. Jack’s four possible dad’s post listed Cygnus and Orion right?

Both of those are famous constellations.

Orpheus is credited as being the Cygnus constellation, and then later a man named Cygnus was transformed into the namesake.

I…have to hand it to Leda. She is astonishingly good at dramatic irony. Cygnus and Traveler-a GOD-were confirmed, Rasputin has been implied to-if not having a romantic relationship had at least had to break people out of her prison so they at least know of each other.

Which makes me curious about Orion. Two constellation guys, two time and space guys, one punk who is taking inspiration from or is the actual Rasputin, it just makes me curious.

I see the theme here so I wonder what Orion has to do with it, exactly. I don’t think he’s just random. But I am so curious what and how and why of the whole thing

Also there is not a zero percent chance Cygnus isn’t either the schmuck who became a swan or Orpheus. And if he’s Orpheus….oh boy. If he’s just a guy named after them….again. Really needs better role models. Or learning lessons from them. Because um. My guy
