The End?

My take on what’s happening in NnT right now. I had to calm myself down first too but let’s talk a bit about the “epilogue” and the series possibly ending. First of all, there is no official statement yet, not in the magazine itself, not on their Twitter or anywhere, even though I think it’s pretty normal to announce a manga ending at least like 3 chapters in advance. Epilogues usually aren’t that long and I can’t really imagine them NOT announcing it’s gonna end when they write something like “epilogue 1″ as a chapter title. Also, I checked the japanese title, because I feared it would be the typical “beginning, middle, end” in japanese but it wasn’t, which makes me think it’s gonna be longer than 3 chapters. TECHNICALLY Nakaba could make 50 more chapters and call them all “epilogue”, this is Nakaba, guys. I remember the “All’s well that ends well” chapter after Hendrickson was defeated all too well. Everyone panicked and thought it was gonna end, but it didn’t. There was too much left to be resolved. And while we did get a good amount of resolved problems, there’s still a lot that we didn’t get. -supreme deity, where is she, what is she doing? -who is Rosa? -what about Arthur? He can’t be dead for good -goddess in the horn anyone? -there’s still that thing about Meliodas not being able to stay in this world, it can’t stay unresolved -Ban’s sacred treasure? -Escanor and Merlin gaidens? -how did Meliodas and Elizabeth meet? -Gelda??? -what happened with Cath? -Solaseed? Did Derieri get reincarnated? Did Monspeet get reincarnated too?  -SUPREME DEITY AGAIN, this can’t just be over without her at least making an actual appearance I’m sure there’s a lot more and even if we don’t get everything on this list, we MUST at least get SOME, and there’s no way it can be handled without feeling rushed. And there is no reason to rush it. I really can’t imagine this going well if NnT really ends.  But I can imagine one outcome, though it’s kinda weird it wasn’t announced then... Like, what if the Arthur spinoff was greenlit and is planned to start right after NnT ends? We could get a timeskip, Merlin was able to resurrect Arthur with Elizabeth’s help... Or who knows, maybe even Meliodas... And Meliodas couldn’t stay in this world because his powers have awakened so he’s seperated from everyone else and has given up on a happy life, again. And now it’s Arthur’s turn to save Meliodas, with Arthur being the main character. He has the knights of the round table and stuff. Merlin is of course also there, and Escanor could also easily make an appearance, so they could both still get their gaidens. Since this is in the future we’d get to see what happened to everyone, or things could still happen without it feeling rushed.  There were theories about Arthur having a connection to the goddess clan because of multiple hints so the supreme deity and the goddess in the horn could be introduced as this story’s antagonists We’d get to see all sorts of old characters that were forgotten in the main series, like Nanashi for example? And Solaseed? There were a lot of unused characters that I really would like to see more of.  I really have no idea what it’s gonna be like, if Nakaba is just trolling and the “epilogue” is not an actual epilogue but just supposed to lead us astray. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens next... I will keep an eye out on official announcements too, though Ju is probably gonna be faster than me again.  Don’t lose hope yet!

And yeah, he probably was talking about the OS. But it was still weird as hell. Not gonna lie though, I totally forgot you haven’t been reading the manga for a while just because you get the gist from Tumblr haha.

I don’t have to read tbh. I’ve skipped entire chapters without knowing a thing about them, and I could summarize this whole arc. I officially dropped the series after the Southern Front bullshit (and the fact that untagged/unavoidable spoilers completely ruined it for me), so I haven’t read 2/3rds of this arc but I’ve been predicting plot twists anyway haha.

Admittedly, Fairy Tail is the only series I could get away with this for. I’m 2 volumes behind on BNHA and everyone has been very courteous about warning me that their posts/chats have spoilers and no one seems to post panels from the manga in the tags. Never have problems with NNT, Noragami or Yona of the Dawn either.

I happen to like print manga (partially due to poor eyesight that make reading scans difficult) and I do have access to all the English volumes including the spinoffs. So I don’t mind waiting a bit. I’m reading about 20+ series on and off plus novels and non fiction books so I’m not chomping at the bit to get the next chapter.

theory: cath is guinevere and nanashi is lancelot. in the future arthur spinoff, there will be an arthur/cath/nanashi love triangle, which was foreshadowed by both arthur and nanashi’s interest in cath in nnt chapter 179,

I heard 310 was going to be the last chapter do you think this is true?

It LOOKS like it might be, but I still can’t really believe that this is supposed to be the end. There’s still a lot of stuff left to tell, this feels a bit too rushed, you know? The way it’s now the most important main plotpoints have been mostly resolved but there’s still stuff missing. Like everything surrounding Arthur and Cath. And the fact that even though the demon king was defeated, the Holy War itself is not over, the supreme deity still exists and I can’t imagine she’d just sit around and do nothing.Also

Do you think the supreme diety will make an appearance? 

That depends on how many chapters we still have left. If next chapter really is the last, then no, I can’t imagine Nakaba would stuff her into the last chapter. If we still have more, I can see it. I also still think that the reason NnT seems to be getting rushed is that the remaining plotpoints will be resolved in the (unannounced but hinted at) spinoff series featuring Arthur. In which case I think the supreme deity will be completely left for that spinoff series and not appear in NnT any more.

A mini anime series "Gekidan Nanatsu no Taizai" part 1 was uploaded today on vap official on Youtube. The mini series will be uploaded daily and will have Sins and Elizabeth dressing up as characters from six fairytales (Urashima Tarou, Momotarou, The Golden Axe, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, The Little Match Girl and Tsuru no Ongaeshi) and playing those stories.

A new oneshot called "About that Transfer Student X" will release today, midnight japanese time, on the Shogakukan official app. It's a story inspired by "characters from Nanatsu no Taizai that were really popular" and is set in a completely different world. The whole education system kinda broke down and a teacher from the Gokuran Highschool, Mishuku, has some troubles with his class. And on one day a mysterious beautiful girl called Onmu Kiruko transfers into his class.

In Suzuki-sensei comment, he wrote that their relationship is basically the same as in "Nanatsu no Taizai"
