bn Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to me, “Recite the Qur'an to me.” I said: “O Messenger of Allah! Shall I recite it to you when it was revealed to you?” He (peace be upon him) said, “I like to hear it from others.” Then I began to recite Surat An-Nisa’. When I reached the Ayah: ‘How will it be when We shall bring a witness from every people and bring you as a witness against them?’ [4:41] (Having heard it) he said, “Enough!
Chapter: The virtue of listening to the Qur’an, asking one who has memorized it to recite so that one may listen, weeping when reciting, and pondering the meanings . Muslim ()
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) asked Ibn Mas‘ūd to recite some verses of the Qur’an to him. Ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "O Messenger of Allah, how can I recite it to you while it has been revealed to you and you have greater knowledge of it than I!" The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) explained: "I love to hear it being recited by others." So Ibn Mas‘ūd recited a portion from Sūrat An-Nisā' to him, and he reached the verse that says: {So how [will it be] when We bring from every nation a witness and we bring you [O Muhammad] against these [people] as a witness?} [Sūrat An-Nisā': 41] Meaning: how will your and their condition be? At this point, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Enough for now", meaning: stop the recitation. Ibn Mas‘ūd remarked: "When I looked at him, I saw that his eyes were filled with tears out of mercy towards his followers."
(Bakara, 200)
"Onlar ayaktayken, otururken ve yatarken (daima) Al- lah'ı anarlar." (Al-i Imran, 191)
SAYFA 16 İMAM-I GAZÂLÎ
"Artık namazı bitirdiğiniz zaman ayakta iken, otururken ve yanlarınız üzerinde (uzanmış) iken Allah'ı zikredin." (Nisa, 103)
(Nisa,142)
Yine Allah Teâlâ şöyle buyuruyor:
"Rabbini, içinden yalvararak ve korkarak, sabah akşam sessizce (hafif bir sesle) an! Sakın gâfillerden olma!" (A'raf, 205)
Peygamber (sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem)' in naklettiği bir hadis-i kudsîde Allah Teâlâ şöyle buyurmaktadır:
SAYFA 18 İMAM-I GAZÂLÎ
Bir hadis-i kudside Allah Teâlâ şöyle buyurmaktadır:
Bir hadîs-i kudside Allah Teâlâ şöyle buyurmuştur:
"Beni zikretmekle meşgul olduğu için benden ihtiyacını
istemeye vakit bulamayan kimseye, isteyenlere verdiğimden
daha fazlasını veririm."

Children of Eönwë and Elenna (OCs): The Lady of Ithilien
[Since I don't know how many years LOI will cover yet, I am posting the faceclaims of the children up until year FoA 43— the year both their parents die. The adult versions of the surviving children will be featured in the sequel Estel i Hína]
Fionwë
FoA 25 (stillbirth; named posthumously)
Mírion
DOB: FoA 26
DOD:
First child of Eönwë and Elenna. He's his father's heir and his mother's pride and joy. He adores his parents and would give his life for them.
Fancast: Berkecan Akkaya (toddler/childhood)
Louis Partridge (teenage years/adulthood)
Éowyn ("Wyn")
DOB: FoA 27
DOD: FoA 44 (aged 17)
Eönwë and Elenna's second child and first daughter. Named after her maternal grandmother, she's lively, spunky and fun. She's obsessed with jewelry and, according to her siblings, she talks way too much. She's her father's darling and has a very complicated relationship with her mother.
Fancast: Ayda Acar (toddler); Grace May O' Leary (childhood); (teenage tears/early adulthood:
Boromir
DOB: FoA 29
DOD: FoA 35/36
Named after his uncle (the son of deceased Captain of the White Tower; check my Half-Human/Half-Elven OC profiles for reference), he's an adorable ray of sunshine.
Unfortunately, due to *things that happen to his mom*, he's very sickly and often bedridden. He and his younger brother Elarion adore one another (they're basically twins even though they're actually not) and will die on the same day. Natural causes? Coincidence? Mairon trying to undermine Eönwë in any possible way to break him utterly? Who knows (spoiler, I don't either)
Fancast: Alihan Türkdemir
Elarion
DOB: FoA 31
DOD: FoA 35/36
Fourth child of Eönwë and Elenna, he's also very sickly. Boromir is his best friend and they always stick together. They will probably die together as well.
Fancast: I only found a gif and a pic of him but that's basically how he looks like (he's such a cute kid). I'll make a collage once I have found more pics.
Eglantine ("Tilly")
DOB: Adopted in FoA 32
DOD: FoA 39
Adopted in FoA 32. She's an elf. She's very close with Wyn and her younger sister Finduilas. Enna brings her home with the intent to keep her temporarily. Needless to say, they end up keeping her permanently and adopt her.
Fancast: Amelie Child Villiers
Finduilas ("Finnie")
DOB: FoA 32
DOD:
Fifth child of Eönwë and Elenna. Tilly is her best friend. She's quiet, enjoys reading and studying and is a polyglot. She adores her dad, but she also has a closer relationship to Enna compared to her sisters.
Fancast: Balim Gaye Bayrak
Elanorellë ("Ellie")
DOB: FoA 34
DOD: FoA 40
Fancast: Amelia Crouch
Aearwen Elanel
DOB: FoA 36
DOD: FoA 40
Partly named after Enna's birth mother.
Fancast: [Esmanur from Magnificent Century]
Stillborn boy in FoA 41
Vanya Elestellë & Faramir Elegil
DOB: FoA 43 (twins)
DOD:
The last children. Depending on when LOI ends, they will either appear as newborn or as toddlers. In any case, I'm including their faceclaims.
Vanya Elestellë
Fancast: Nisa Sofiya Aksongur
(Adult version to be featured in the sequel: Evie Allen)
Faramir Elegil ("Feathermir")
Fancast: Çağan Efe Ak
(Adult version to be featured in the sequel: Boran Bağci)
NOTE (& SPOILERS NO ONE WILL CARE ABOUT)=> I know I haven't included all the children's adult versions in this post, but that doesn't mean they're all going to die. I just haven't found the right faceclaims yet 😊 the only confirmed casualties here are Boromir and Elarion. Wyn may die too after her parents' death.
Shortly after Boromir and Elarion's funeral, Eönwë realizes there's seriously wrong with him and it doesn't take him long to figure that he will eventually die. He doesn't say anything to anyone, but he knows the end is coming for him. Which is why, he'll try not to produce any more children (creation is a Maiarin thing, after all). As a matter of fact, Vanya and Faramir are a mistake. They just...happen. They weren't planned (none of the children was actually, but...you know what I mean).
I'll update this post again once I find the name of all the missing actors 😊

ISLAM 101: Muslim Culture and Character: Morals And Manners: Part 19
TEASING AND MOCKING
The Qur’an commands that people should not make fun of, embarrass, or ridicule one another, nor call each other by unbecoming nicknames. This is an important principle if there are to be good relations among people in a community.
O you who believe! Let not some people among you deride another people, it may be that the latter are better than the former; nor let some women deride other women, it may be that the latter are better than the former. Nor defame one another (and provoke the same for yourselves in retaliation), nor insult one another with nicknames (that your brothers and sisters dislike). Evil is using names with vile meaning after (those so addressed have accepted) the faith (– doing so is like replacing a mark of faith with a mark of transgression). Whoever (does that and then) does not turn to God in repentance, (giving up doing so), those are indeed wrongdoers. (Hujurat 49:11)
Here I will address the issues in this verse, using Elmalili Hamdi Yazir as a source, but attempting to simplify his ideas. After the verse opens with a call to believers to conscientiously treat each other well, it inspires believers to do so with the great- est sincerity, indicating that this will make it possible for many more nations and people to perceive and accept the beauty of Islam. Then, this verse goes on from generally fostering brotherhood to teaching people the adab of how to treat each other, both face to face and when apart. There were several events that occasioned the revelation of this verse: 1. According to a narration from Dahhaq, several people from the tribe of Banu Tamim teased and mocked Companions like Bilal al-Habashi, Habbab, Ammar, Suhayb, Abu Dharr, Salim, and Mawla Hudayfa.
2. Aisha said she used to tease Zaynab bint Huzayma al-Hila- liyya for being short. Likewise, she and Hafsa talked between themselves about how short Umm Salama was. 3. Ibn Abbas relates that Safiyya bint Huyayy once came to the Messenger and said, “The women call me ‘Jew, daughter of a Jew’ to tease me.” The Messenger replied, “Why do you not reply, ‘My father was Aaron, my uncle was Moses, and my husband is Muhammad’?” 4. Thabit ibn Qays was partially deaf and therefore when he was near the Prophet, other people would let him through the crowd so he could come closer to hear. One day he came and started going through the others, saying, “Move, make room.” One man did not pay attention, and Thabit became offended and asked, “Who is this?” The man told him his name. The other retorted, “No, you are the son of the woman who—” attributing him to a woman known for indecency. The man was embarrassed, and when this verse was revealed, Thabit never talked about nobleness by birth again. 5. Ikrima, the son of Abu Jahl (Islam’s most determined enemy), became Muslim, but he was called “Son of the Pharaoh of the community of believers.” This upset him and he told the Prophet about it.41 According to Qurtubi, to mock someone means that one is looking down on them, insulting them, putting them down, and talking about their faults in order to ridicule them. Razi says from a community point of view, mocking another person means “showing one’s believing brother or sister less than their deserved respect and honor, approaching them in an uncomplimentary way.” In the above verse, the words qawm (tribe) and nisa (women) are used, which in Arabic denotes the men and the women of the community. There are other linguistic clues as well which prove this. The concept of the community is important in this verse in several ways:
1. It serves as a reminder that Islam is not a religion solely for private practice, but is meant to be lived as a community. 2. It shows that mocking others can cause serious problems and individuals must cease to practice such behavior. 3. The verse also implies that this action or habit on the part of one individual becomes like a sickness that affects the whole community, as a person who mocks others will always have some hangers-on laughing at the jokes and try- ing to become their friend by doing the same. If any question remains as to why such actions are forbidden, every believer should be concerned about the final reason: It may be that, in God’s sight, the one who is mocked is actually better than the one who is mocking. For we can only know the outer appearance of others; God alone knows their hearts. We are not capable of knowing what level of value a person has in front of God. Therefore, no one has the right to belittle, look down on, or make fun of another person because of some outward appearance or action; this may be misleading. If the person we mock is greatly loved by God and we show them disrespect, then surely we will have wronged our own soul as well as that of the person. In other words, making fun of others is wrong in two ways: First, if a Muslim mocks another believer, they are mocking themselves, since we are all like one body. Second, if a person does something shameful, it brings shame most of all on their own soul. Thus, the verse can be paraphrased like this: “Do not mock, embarrass, or belittle believers; for to do so is to mock, embarrass, and belittle yourself.” Or, if we look at it from the second aspect, “When you make a fool of someone or demean them, the result is that you have made a fool of yourself and besmirched your own name.” In other words, the first meaning is more to do with brotherhood, while the second meaning pertains to the honor and dignity of our individual soul.
A nickname is given either to honor someone or to bring them down in some way. The verse uses the word nabz to refer to epithets with derogatory meanings; these are forbidden. On the other hand, it is permissible to give or use positive epithets. According to Kashshaf, the Prophet said, “One of the rights of a believer over his believing brother is to be called by the name he loves most.” This is why giving a beautiful epithet is Sunna, in accordance with the Prophet’s example. Some of the Companions had such kunya, or respectful but intimate names. Most societies have such epithets. But any kind of derogatory term of abuse should be avoided. Calling someone by a derogatory name is fisq, or deviant, immoral behavior, so a person doing this is considered to be ignoring the ethics of Islam. This is a very serious situation for anyone to find themselves in. Knowing that this brings serious punishment and a state that is less than true practice and belief, one should actively and carefully avoid calling other people names or mocking them.
MAKING A MOCKERY OF FAITH
Another related topic addressed in the Qur’an is a type of hypocrisy. This occurs when people act one way while with believers, but make fun of the believers when they are not with them, thus showing their hidden identity. Just as believers should not make fun of one another, they should also exercise common sense and avoid making themselves the butt of others’ jokes by speaking of their beliefs among people who may mock them once they leave. In Sura Baqara it is written: When they meet those who believe, they declare (hypocritically), “We believe”; but when they are alone in secret with their (apparently human) satans (to whom they hasten in need to renew their unbelief and their pledge to them for fear of losing their support), they say, “Assuredly we are with you; we only mock (those others).” (Since what they do only means demanding straying and ridicule,) God returns their mockery, leaving them to wander blindly on in their rebellion. Such are the ones who have bought straying in exchange for guidance, but their trade has brought no profit, and they have no way out to escape it. (Baqara 2:14–16)
There is no question about how despicable this kind of behavior is moral; such people cannot be called believers. They show a friendly, fawning face toward believers while they are with them, but only so that they can hide their true, malicious intentions. Then when they get together with the evildoing mischief-makers, they say, “We are true with you and were only acting; trust us.” The more they swear their allegiance, the more they are actually confirming their treachery, pitting themselves against the believers with their fellow conspirators. Such an action is against basic decency and morality, as these people are mocking and devaluing belief itself; thus, it is easy to understand why such an attitude is one of the markers of unbelief (kufr). To ridicule someone, even in jest, means to violate their honor and dignity. Most people who make fun of believers do not have the courage to insult them; if they do, then insult reflects badly on the person uttering it, not on the one they are insulting. But when people insult believers, God and the whole universe will hold them in contempt, whether they realize it or not, even if they think that their action is concealed. Without a doubt, it must be the greatest burden to have such a thing on one’s conscience.

🍂🍁🍂 The Purified Imams are witnesses upon the creatures
🍂 The Purified Imams (a.s.) are witnesses upon the creatures and the deeds of people are shown to them
There are the following verses in this connection:
First verse:
And thus We have made you a medium (just) nation that you may be the bearers of witness to the people and (that) the Apostle may be a bearer of witness to you. (Sura Baqarah 2:143)
Second verse:
How will it be, then, when We bring from every people a witness and bring you as a witness against these? (Sura Nisa 4:41)
Third verse:
And say: Work; so Allah will see your work and (so will) His Apostle and the believers; and you shall be brought back to the Knower of the unseen and the seen, then He will inform you of what you did. (Sura Tawbah 9:105)
Fourth verse:
And on the day when We will raise up in every people a witness against them from among themselves, and bring you as a witness against these and We have revealed the Book to you explaining clearly everything, and a guidance and mercy and good news for those who submit. (Sura Nahl 16:89)
Fifth verse:
And strive hard in (the way of) Allah, (such) a striving as is due to Him; He has chosen you and has not laid upon you a hardship in religion; the faith of your father Ibrahim; He named you Muslims before and in this, that the Apostle may be a bearer of witness to you, and you may be bearers of witness to the people; therefore keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and hold fast by Allah; He is your Guardian; how excellent the Guardian and how excellent the Helper! (Sura Haj 22:78)
Sixth verse:
And We will draw forth from among every nation a witness and say: Bring your proof; then shall they know that the truth is Allah’s, and that which they forged shall depart from them. (Sura Qasas 28:75)
Seventh verse:
And the earth shall beam with the light of its Lord, and the Book shall be laid down, and the prophets and the witnesses shall be brought up, and judgment shall be given between them with justice, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. (Sura Zumar 39:69)
Eighth verse:
And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah? These shall be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses shall say: These are they who lied against their Lord. Now surely the curse of Allah is on the unjust. (Sura Hud 11:18)
Ninth verse:
Is he then who has with him clear proof from his Lord, and a witness from Him recites it and before it (is) the Book of Musa, a guide and a mercy? These believe in it; and whoever of the (different) parties disbelieves in it, surely it is the truth from your Lord, but most men do not believe. (Sura Hud 11:17)
Tenth verse:
And every soul shall come, with it a driver and a witness. (Sura Qaf 50:21)
Shaykh Tusi has said that there are three statements regarding their being witness: The first is that they are witness over people in the matter of their deeds in this world and in the hereafter which might have been done against truth has been said:
and the prophets and the witnesses shall be brought up. (Sura Zumar 39:69)
Secondly, it may mean that you are proof (Hujjat) on people so put before them the truth and the religion and the messenger may be witness over you and may put (describe) the truth and religion.
Thirdly, these noble ones will give witness about the messengers that they conveyed the Divine Commands and that their communities belied them, and that the meaning of the messenger’s being witness over them is that they will give witness about their deeds or will be proofs over them or will give witness about them on the Day of Judgment that they had given true testimony. In this case ‘upon’ would be in the meaning of ‘for’, that is, ‘upon you’ will mean ‘for you’.1
Kulaini, Saffar, Ibne Shahr Aashob and Ayyashi have, with reliable chains of narrators, quoted Imams Baqir and Sadiq (a.s.) that they have while explaining this verse they said: We are the medium nation (Ummate Wusta) and we are Allah’s witness over the creation and Allah’s proof (Hujjat) on the earth.
Furat has, with reliable chains of narrators, about the meaning of this verse, quoted Imam Baqir (a.s.) that there always is a witness from us Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) in every age. Imam Ali was in his time and Imam Hasan was in his days and Imam Husain was in his period and likewise every Imam who guides people towards Allah is in his time the witness of Allah.
Likewise in Basair, Imam Baqir (a.s.) is reported to have said that he said: The ‘medium nation’ means the Imams who are witnesses over the people and: and (that) the Apostle may be a bearer of witness to you… means the messenger will be a witness over you.
Imam Sadiq (a.s.) is reported to have said that we are the witnesses over the people about their Halaal (permissible) and Haraam (prohibited) and about whichever of Divine Commandments have been broken by them.
In Kafi and in Basair, Imam Ali (a.s.) is reported to have said: Allah has made us clean of evils and also infallible and made us witnesses over the creation and also proof (Hujjat) in His earth and also He has made Quran with us and us with the Quran. Neither we will separate ourselves from it nor will it separate itself from us.
Ayyashi has narrated from Imam Baqir (a.s.) that: We are the most moderate in all manners and we are the best of all, that is, of the angles and the couches which are being spread in presidential places with the qualities of the creation as has been said by Allah: And thus We have made you a medium (just) nation… So it is necessary that the one who makes excesses should return towards us.
He has also narrated from Imam Sadiq (a.s.) that he recited this verse and said: Do you think that what is meant in this verse is all the people of Qibla (Muslims) who believe in Allah’s oneness? It is not so. Do you think that the witness of the one whose testimony is not being accepted in world even for a little quantity of dates will be called in the Hereafter to give testimony by Allah and He will accept it before all the communities of the past? It is not so, Allah has not desired like that but it is regarding only that community in whose favor the prayer of Ibrahim (a.s.) has been answered. They are those who have been addressed by Allah thus:
You are the best of the nations raised up for (the benefit of) men… (Sura Ale-Imran 3:110)
Thereafter He describes their attributes saying they order the performance of good deeds and prohibit the commitment of evil deeds and by it what is meant is the Imams, as only they are the most moderate of all people and also the best of all. He is also reported to have said that no one is the witness to people except the messengers and the Imams because it is not comprehensible that Allah will call on the entire community for giving witness because in it there also are some such people whose testimony is not worth even a little green stem of a tree.
Abul Qasim Haqqani has quoted Imam Ali (a.s.) in Shawahidut Tanzil that the Lord of the universe had mentioned us in the verse: …that you may be the bearers of witness to the people… and He has addressed us in it. So the Holy Prophet (S) is witness over us and we are, from Allah, witnesses over the creation and we are the Proof (Hujjat) of Allah on the earth and it is only us about whom Allah has said: And thus We have made you a medium (just) nation…
The commentators have said that they are the messengers who are the witnesses of their communities.
O Muhammad! We will make you the witness over all of them.
Some have said:
O Messenger! Be witness over your Ummat.
And some others have said:
You are the witness over those witnesses from us over that community and Muhammad is the witness over us.
In Ihtijaj, in a lengthy tradition, Amirul Momineen is reported to have said showing the attribute of the Ahle Muqif (the halted ones) that Prophets will be made to halt and they will be questioned: Did you convey My message to your communities over whom you were appointed by Me? All the messengers will reply: We did convey. Then those communities will be asked: Did My messengers made you aware of My message? The disbelievers would deny as mentioned by Allah:
فَلَنَسْأَلَنَّ الَّذِينَ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَنَسْأَلَنَّ الْمُرْسَلِينَ.
Most certainly then We will question those to whom (the apostles) were sent, and most certainly We will also question the apostles; (Sura Araf 7:6)
The disbelievers would say:
(أَنْ تَقُولُوا) مَا جَاءَنَا مِنْ بَشِيرٍ وَلَا نَذِيرٍ.
There came not to us a giver of good news or a warner…(Sura Maida 5:19)
At that time the messengers will request the Holy Prophet (S) to give witness and the Holy Prophet (S) will testify that the messengers are telling the truth and those of their community are telling a lie who have denied the conveyance of message. Then the community of every messenger will be addressed:
فَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ بَشِيرٌ وَنَذِيرٌ وَاللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ.
So indeed there has come to you a giver of good news and a warner; and Allah has power over all things. (Sura Maida 5:19)
Imam (a.s.) said: He has power enough to make your organs speak in order to testify on your behalf that the messengers of Allah had conveyed the message to you. This is pointer to the Divine Word:
فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جِئْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ بِشَهِيدٍ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ شَهِيدًا.
How will it be, then, when We bring from every people a witness and bring you as a witness against these? (Sura Nisa 4:41)
At that time they will not be able to reject the witness given by the Holy Prophet (S) because of the fear that their lips may be sealed and then their organs may testify. Thereafter the Holy Prophet (S) will give witness about the deniers and the hypocrites of his Ummah that they had become atheists and turned away from religion and they became enemies of the legatees of the Holy Prophet (S) and broke covenants and changed their habits and oppressed his family members and turned their back to the religion and became apostates and followed those communities who had been dishonest to their Prophets in earlier times and had oppressed their legatees. At that time all will confess their denial and misguidance and say: O Allah! Our hearts had become stony and we were of the misguided groups. Thereafter:
On that day will those who disbelieve and disobey the Apostle desire that the earth were levelled with them, and they shall not hide any word from Allah. (Sura Nisa 4:42)
Ali bin Ibrahim has narrated that it means those who had grabbed the right of Amirul Momineen (a.s.) will wish they had sunk in the ground at the place where they had gathered to grab the right of Amirul Momineen (a.s.), and that they will not be able hide from Allah what the Holy Prophet (S) had said in favor of Amirul Momineen and about their deviation.
The subject matter of the third and the fourth verses is almost similar.
The translation of the third verse is:
وَقُلْ اعْمَلُوا فَسَيَرَى اللَّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَسَتُرَدُّونَ إِلَى عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ.
And say: Work; so Allah will see your work and (so will) His Apostle and the believers; and you shall be brought back to the Knower of the unseen and the seen, then He will inform you of what you did. (Sura Tawbah 9:105)
Commentators have differed in interpreting the word ‘believers’. Some have said they are the martyrs and some opined that they are angels who record human deeds. There are many Shias as well as Ahle Sunnat traditions that mention that here ‘believers’ means the Holy Imams (a.s.).
Accordingly Saffar, Ibne Shahr Aashob, Ayyashi, Kulaini and others have with reliable chains of narrators narrated that Imams Baqir and Sadiq (a.s.) have said that everywhere the word ‘believers’ means us, the Imams.
In Majalis of Shaykh Tusi, Basairud Darajat and in the Tafsir Ayyashi Imam Baqir (a.s.) is reported to have said that one day the Holy Prophet (S) was sitting among his companions when he said: My being in the midst of you is good for you and my leaving this place is also good for you. Hearing this Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari got up and said: O Messenger of Allah! We know that your presence among us is good for us but how is it good for us when you are not present among us?! The Prophet said: My presence before you is better on the basis of Allah’s words:
But Allah was not going to chastise them while you were among them, (Sura Anfal 8:33)
and it is also not so that
Allah is going to chastise them while yet they ask for forgiveness. (Sura Anfal 8:33)
The Hazrat said they are being punished by the sword. And my separation from you is better for you in this way that your deeds are being presented before us every Monday and Thursday. When I see that your deeds are good, I thank Allah and when I notice that your deeds are evil, I seek Allah’s pardon for you.
It is narrated in Majalis of the Shaykh and Basairud Darajat with reliable chains of narrators that Ibne Uzniyaa once requested Imam Sadiq (a.s.) to explain the meaning of the Divine Words:
And say: Work; so Allah will see your work and (so will) His Apostle and the believers. (Sura Tawbah 9:105)
The Imam replied: Here ‘believers’ means us.
The Shaykh has in Majalis and others have with reliable chains of narrators, narrated from Dawood ibne Kathir that he says that one day I was with Imam Sadiq (a.s.) when, without my asking the Imam (a.s.) began to say: O Dawood! Your deeds were presented to me on Thursday and when I saw that you behaved nicely with your such and such cousin I became very glad and I imagined that this good attitude with relatives might be because of the realization of the fact that very soon his life would end and his death arrive.
Dawood says that I had a cousin who was very bad natured and inimical towards me. I came to know that he and his family members are in big trouble. So before proceeding to Holy Mecca, I made some arrangement for the removal of his difficulties. Then when I reached Medina Imam (a.s.) informed me about this.
Ali bin Ibrahim has, with reliable chains of narrators, narrated from Imam Sadiq (a.s.) that, in this verse, ‘believers’ means the Holy Imams, and also that the deeds of righteous and evil servants are presented to the Holy Prophet (S) every morning. So, all of you should avoid presentation of your evil deeds to the Holy Prophet (S).
The same Imam is reported to have said that no believer or disbeliever is ever buried before the presentation of his deeds to the Holy Prophet (S), Amirul Momineen and all the Holy Imams whose obedience has been made obligatory for the creatures by Allah and that this is the meaning of the Divine words:
And say: Work; so Allah will see your work and (so will) His Apostle and the believers. 9:105
In Maniul Akhbar and Tafsir Maashi, Abu Baseer is reported to have visited Imam Sadiq (a.s.) and said: Abul Khattab was saying that, every Thursday, the deeds of the Ummah are being presented to the Holy Prophet (S).
The Imam said: Not so but the good and bad deeds of the Ummah are being presented to the Holy Prophet (S) every morning (so refrain from misdeeds). Then he recited this verse and remained silent. Abu Baseer said ‘believers’ means the Holy Imams.
In Basair, Imam Sadiq (a.s.) is reported to have said that the good and bad deeds of servants are being presented before the Holy Prophet (S) so (refrain from sins).
According to another narration, Muhammad bin Muslim asked the same Imam whether the deeds of the Ummah are being presented to the Holy Prophet (S)? The Hazrat replied: There is no doubt about it. Then, in response to an inquiry about this verse, the Imam said: ‘Believers’ are the Imams who have been appointed by Allah over the people of the earth as witness.
Similarly, the said Imam is reported to have said that the deeds of servants are presented to the Holy Prophet (S) every Thursday.
According to yet another narration he said that every Thursday they are presented to the Holy Prophet (S) as well as the Holy Imams.
And according to yet another narration, every Thursday, the deeds of people are presented to the Holy Prophet (S) and when the Day of Arafat arrives, Allah nullifies the deeds of the enemies of us and of our Shias as He has said:
وَقَدِمْنَا إِلَى مَا عَمِلُوا مِنْ عَمَلٍ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ هَبَاءً مَنْثُورًا.
And We will proceed to what they have done of deeds, so We shall render them as scattered floating dust. (Sura Furqan 25:23)
That is, We looked at their deeds and We crushed them like atoms which are swept away by the wind and none of them are of any gain or benefit.
According to another tradition, he said: ‘Believers’ means Imams before whom the deeds of the people will continue to be presented every day till the Day of Judgment.
Similarly, it is reported that Imam Ridha (a.s.) was once requested by one of his near companions for praying for him and for his family members. The Hazrat told him: Don’t I pray for you? By Allah your deeds are presented to me every night and every day. That companion says: I gave extraordinary importance to these words of the Holy Imam. Then the Hazrat said: Perhaps, you have not read the Holy verse:
And say: Work; so Allah will see your work and (so will) His Apostle and the believers. (Sura Tawbah 9:105)
It is also reported that once Imam Sadiq (a.s.) addressed his companions: Why are you making the Holy Prophet (S) sorrowful? One from the audience asked: May I be sacrificed for you. How are we grieving the Holy Prophet (S)? The Imam replied: Perhaps you do not know that your deeds are presented to the Holy Prophet (S). When he sees disobedience and sin in your deeds he becomes sorrowful. So do not give sorrow to the Holy Prophet (S) by your misdeeds; rather make him happy through your good deeds.
Kulaini has reported that once a man recited this verse before Imam Sadiq (a.s.). Imam said: This verse is not like this. It is not and the believers (mominoon) but it is the trusted ones (mamoonoon) we Imams are the Maamoonoon, that is the trustees of Allah’s religion and of the knowledge, codes and commands of Allah’s religion.
Sayyid Ibne Tawoos has, in his work Risala Muhaasabtun Nafs, quoted from Ibne Mahyar’s Tafsir and said that once Ammar bin Yasir requested the Holy Prophet (S): It is my aspiration and I earnestly wish that you may live among us the long life of Nuh (a.s.).
The Holy Prophet (S) replied: O Ammar! For you both my life and my death are good. Life is better because when you commit a misdeed, I pray for your forgiveness. But fear Allah after my death and continue to send more and more Salawat on me and on my Ahlul Bayt (a.s.). Surely your deeds, along with your and your parents and forefathers names are being presented to me. When I see your good deeds, I praise Allah and when I see your misdeeds, I pray for your forgiveness.
Hearing this, all those who were hypocrites and who had doubts about the Messengership of the Holy Prophet (S) and whose hearts were affected by the illness of disbelief and hypocrisy began to say: Can you imagine that, after his death, your deeds along with your full names will be presented to him. No, never, it cannot be so. This is a lie. At that time Allah revealed this verse: And say: Work… till end. People asked: O Messenger of Allah! Who are ‘believers’? The Holy Prophet (S) replied: They are Aale Muhammad and then added:
وَسَتُرَدُّونَ إِلَى عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ.
And you shall be brought back to the Knower of the unseen and the seen, then He will inform you of what you did. (Sura Tawbah 9:105)
Allah will show each and every good and bad deeds done by you. There are many traditions regarding every such subject. We have considered this much as sufficient.
Shaykh Tabarsi and Ali bin Ibrahim have, in explanation of this verse, quoted Imam Sadiq (a.s.) that there will be a community and an Imam in every age and every community will be raised with its Imam.
In Manaqib Ibne Shahr Aashob says that Imam Baqir (a.s.) in the explanation of this verse said: We are the witness of this Ummat.
Ali bin Ibrahim has said that the witness is the Imams and added that Allah said to His Messenger: O Muhammad! Thereafter, We will make you witness over them, that is, the Messenger of Allah will be a witness over the Imams and the Holy Imams will be the witness over all people.
About fifth verse, Ali bin Ibrahim has narrated that this verse is exclusively for the Aale Muhammad and the Messenger of Allah is witness over Aale Muhammad and the Aale Muhammad are witness over the Ummat and Isa (a.s.) will say to Allah: I was the witness over my Ummat till I lived among them and when You lifted me up from the world only your were the witness over them and you are the witness to everything. And Allah has, for this Ummat, after the messenger, made his Ahlul Bayt and Progeny the witness until even one of them is present in the world. When they leave the world; all in earth will perish and the Holy Prophet (S) has said that Allah has made the stars shelter for those in the sky and my Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) for those in the world.
Ibne Shahr Aashob has narrated that: He named you Muslims before and in this… in the prayer of Ibrahim and Ismail (a.s.), who were the servants of the House of Allah is an indication towards Muhammad and Aale Muhammad (a.s.) when they believed in the last messenger of Allah. Prophet Muhammad (S) is a witness over Aale Muhammad and those gentlemen are witness over those who came after him.
It is narrated in Tafsir Furat that people asked the explanation of this verse from Imam Baqir (a.s.). He said: It is we who are meant in this verse and we are the chosen ones of Allah and it is due to us that Allah has not made any difficulty in religion and the severest blames are hardships.
By the faith of your father is meant we and that’s all. Allah named us Muslims. ‘Before’ means in earlier Books and ‘in this’ means in this Quran. That the Apostle may be a bearer of witness to you… So the messenger is the witness over us in the matter of those things which we conveyed from Allah and we are witnesses over people. So, on the Day of Qiyamat, we will testify the one who will tell the truth and we will negate the one who lies.
In Qurbul Asnaad, there is a narration from Imam Sadiq (a.s.) that the Holy Prophet (S) said that the honour bestowed by Allah on the Lord of the universe to my Ummat is such that was not given to any of the earlier Ummats excepts to the messengers.
The first honour is that Allah used to tell each of His messengers: Strive in religion; there is no blame on Us. But while addressing my Ummat He said: and has not laid upon you a hardship in religion… wherein Haraj means doubt.
The second honour is that whenever Allah sent any messenger He used to reveal to him: Whenever you confront a situation disliked by you pray to Me so that I may answer your prayer. He gave the same honour to this Ummat saying: Call upon Me, I will answer you… 40:60
The third honour is that whenever Allah sent any messenger He used to make him a witness over his community. But He made my Ummah witness over the entire creation. He said: and you may be bearers of witness to the people…
Ibne Babawayh has narrated in Akmaluddeen that Amirul Momineen had, in the time of the caliphate of Uthman, said addressing a group of Emigrants and Helpers: Tell me taking oath of Allah, do you know that Allah sent the verse:
O you who believe! Bow down and prostrate yourselves and serve your Lord, and do good that you may succeed. (Sura Haj 22:77-78)
And Salman (r.a.) got up and asked: O Messenger of Allah! Who are those people on whom you are a witness and whom Allah has chosen and for whom there is no hardship in religion and whom Allah made the faith of their father Ibrahim? The Holy Prophet (S) replied; by this Ummat is meant the certain thirteen persons and not the entire Ummah.
Salman said: O Messenger of Allah! Who are they? Please make us aware of them. The Holy Prophet (S) replied: I and my brother Ali and eleven persons from his progeny. All (Emigrants and Helpers present in the assembly of Uthman) said: Yes, we have heard.
In the explanation of the sixth verse Ali bin Ibrahim has narrated from Imam Baqir (a.s.) that: (We) will call the Imam of every group of this Ummah to give testimony to them.
About the seventh verse, commentators have also said this and Ali bin Ibrahim has quoted Imam Sadiq (a.s.) saying: ‘Its Lord’ is its Imam. People asked: How will be the Imam who comes? Imam said: He would be such that due to his radiance at his arrival the people of the earth will become needless of the sun and the moon?
In Irshad of Shaykh Mufeed, the same Imam is reported to have said that when Qaem Muntazar (Imam Mahdi) will appear the earth will become bright with the light of its Lord and the servants of Allah will not need the light of the sun and moon and darkness will vanish.
And: and the Book shall be laid down, and the prophets and the witnesses shall be brought up… Commentators have said that the witnesses are either the angels or the believers and Ali bin Ibrahim has said that the witnesses are the Imams.
And judgment shall be given between them with justice…means judgment based on justice will be proclaimed between them and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.
About the eighth verse, Ali bin Ibrahim has said that the witnesses mean the Imams (a.s.) and the ‘unjust’ means those people who oppressed the Aale Muhammad and grabbed their rights.
About the ninth verse, According to Most commentators it is the man who possesses the true knowledge and reason granted by Allah and for whom a witness may come from Allah is like the one who may not be like him but who may be a slave of the world and its temptation?
Some have said that ‘clear proof’ means Quran and the witness means Jibraeel who is reciting the Quran.
Some have said that the witness is Muhammad (S) and some have said that it means an angel who protects him (Muhammad) and keeps him on the right path and some have said that the witness is Ali Ibne Abi Talib who testifies the truth about the Holy Prophet (S). There many more traditions from on this matter.
Thus Shaykh Tabarsi has narrated from Imams Ridha and Taqi (a.s.) and Kulaini from Imam Ridha (a.s.) that Amirul Momineen is witness of the Prophet of Allah and the Holy Prophet (S) is the Proof from his Lord.
It is mentioned in Basairud Darajat that Amirul Momineen said: By Allah, there is not a single verse which might not have been revealed during day or night but that I know it and there is none among the companions who might have been hit by a sword on his head but that any verse might have been revealed in his praise and which is about his entering Paradise or Hell. Hearing this, a man got up and asked: O Amirul Momineen! Which verse has been revealed in your praise? The Hazrat said: Did you not hear Allah’s words: Is he then who has with him clear proof from his Lord, and a witness from Him recites it… The Prophet of Allah is of the Proofs from his Lord and I am his witness and I am from him only.
Shaykh Tusi has also described this subject in Majalis and it is narrated in Tafsir Ayyashi from Imam Baqir that the one who is on clear truth (Bayyinat) from his Lord is the Holy Prophet (S) and the one who is to come after him and who is his witness and who is only from him is Amirul Momineen. After him are his legatees one after another and there are many traditions on this subject some of which will be, Insha Allah, mentioned in the forthcoming volume based on the events of Amirul Momineen (a.s.).
About the tenth verse, it is written in the Tafsir of Ali bin Ibrahim and in Nahjul Balagha that the puller will pull him towards Mahshar (great gathering ground in the Hereafter) and the witness will give testimony to his deeds.
In the book Tawilul Aayaat it is mentioned that Imam Sadiq (a.s.) said that the puller will be Amirul Momineen and witness is the Prophet of Allah (S).

Eğer Allah, “Benden Korkun” yerine “Beni Sevin, Çünkü Ben Hepinizi Çok Seviyorum” deseydi, daha güzel olmaz mıydı?
Değerli Dostlar,

THE BENEFITS AND VIRTUES OF RECITING OF OR LISTENING TO SURAH AL-BUROOJ, 85.
The Holy Prophet (SallAllahu ‘alaihi wa Sallam) narrates that the reward for reciting it is that ten good deeds for all the Fridays and days of Arafah of the world will be written as a reward for the person who does so.
Surah Al-Buruj: Explanation and Benefits
Eman is a writer and an engineer. She also studied at Zad story of People of the Ditch (Al-Ukhdood). The story is about the believers who were burned in the ditch because they believed in God. The king and his aides who ordered the digging of the ditch were witnesses to this holocaust. Allah also confirmed that he accepts the repentance of those who committed this holocaust, with the promise of revenge from those who did not repent by the punishment of Hell in the hereafter.
Allah also confirms in Surah Al-Buruj that the Holy Quran is preserved from distortion.
Tafsir (Explanation)
“In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
{1} By the heaven full of constellations,
Meaning: God Almighty swears by the sky and its constellation. And great stars it contains and regular planets that do not deviate from their paths. This indicates the power and greatness of God. Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) says in Holy Quran: (Blessed is He Who has placed constellations in the sky, and a ˹radiant˺ lamp and a luminous moon) Surah Al-Furqan (The Criterion): 61
{2} And the promised Day (The Day of Judgment).
{3} And by the witness and what is witnessed,
Scholars of Tafsir (interpretation) stated that God swore by the witness and what is witnessed.
From the witnesses:
The Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu ‘alaihi waSallam). Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) said in Holy Quran: (So how will it be when We bring from every faith community a witness and We bring you {O Prophet} as a witness against these people?) An-Nisa (The Women): 41
The organs of the human body bear witness to what he did, good or bad. Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) says: (On a Day when their tongues, hands, and feet will bear witness against them for what they used to do) Surah An-Noor (The Light): 24
Angels will bear witness on the Day of Resurrection. Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) says in Holy Quran: (But Allāh bears witness to that which He has sent down to you. He has sent it with His knowledge. And the angels bear witness as well. And Allāh is sufficient as Witness) Surah An-Nisa: 166
As for what is witnessed, like the day of Arafat and the Day of Resurrection. Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) says: (This is a Day (the Day of Judgment) for which humanity will be collected, and that is a Day that will be witnessed) Surah Hud: 103
{4} Destroyed [i.e., cursed] were the makers of the trench.
(The makers of the trench): They are infidels who have burned the believers in the fire. These infidels tried to prevent the believers from worshiping Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala), but they failed. They drilled a great trench in the ground. And they collected firewood and burnt believers in it.
{5} The fire filled with fuel.
{6} Meaning that these infidels were sitting by the fire watching the torture of the believers. This indicates the severity of the hardness of their heart.
{7} And they (the king and his companions who ordered the trench to be dug and their followers) to what they were doing against the believers were witnesses.
{8} And they resented them for no reason other than they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy.
{9} Meaning: Allah, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is nothing hidden for Him. Allah is a witness to everything.
{10} Meaning that Those who burned and tortured the believing men and women and then did not repent of their unbelief and what they did with the believers. They will have the punishment of Hell. In the hereafter, their torment will be more severe than their unbelief for burning the believers.
{11} That is, surely, those who believed and done righteous deeds will have in the Hereafter, Gardens under which rivers flow. That is the greatest triumph.
{12} Meaning: Indeed, punishment and the vengeance of your Lord is severe.
{13} It is He who to originate and repeat. That is, He who creates creation from the beginning and then repeats it back at the resurrection.
{14} And He is the Forgiving, All-Loving.
{15} Lord of the Throne, the All-Glorious.
{16} Doer of what He wills.
{17} Has the story of the soldiers reached you (O Prophet) – Meaning: God Almighty says to His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings upon him): Has the story of the soldiers reached you, O Muhammad?
{18} The forces of Pharaoh and Thamûd?
Pharaoh’s story: God destroyed him and his soldiers and saved the believers, who followed Allah’s prophet Moses (peace and blessings upon him).
The story of Thamud: God destroyed them all and saved Allah’s Prophet Salih (peace and blessings upon him) and his followers.
{19} Meaning: Yet they who disbelieve still in (persist) denial.
{20} That is, Allah encompasses them from all sides.
{21} Indeed, this is a glorious Quran.
{22} Meaning: In a preserved Slate, it is neither changed nor distorted. Allah says in Holy Quran: (Allah eliminates and confirms what He wills, and with Him is the Mother of the Book) Surah Ar-Ra‘d (The Thunder): 39
What is the Mother of the Book? The Mother of the Book is the Preserved Slate (al-Lawḥ al-Maḥfuẓ). In which is inscribed the original of every scripture revealed by Allah.
Benefits
Verse 10 confirms that God accepts the repentance of the penitent, no matter how great the sins are. Allah also says: (Say, O Prophet, that Allah says, “O My servants who have exceeded the limits against their souls! Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy, for Allah certainly forgives all sins. He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful) Surah Az-Zumar (The Troops): 53
God may bring the infidels to power over the believers, killing them or using all means of torture against them. This is a test from Allah for the believers to determine their patience and intensity of faith in God. God promised the believers a great reward. God Almighty confirms this in verse 11. Allah also says: (But those who believe and do good will have a reward uninterrupted) Surah Al-Inshiqaq: 25

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Surah Al-Nahl Ayah 89
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
16:89 And on the Day when We resurrect a witness from each nation from among themselves, and We bring you (O Muhammad) as a witness against these.
And We have revealed the Book (the Qur'an) to you as an explanation of everything, a guidance, a mercy, and good news for the Muslims.
Every Prophet will bear Witness against his Nation on the Day of Resurrection
Allah addressed His servant and Messenger Muhammad, saying:
And on the Day when We resurrect a witness from each nation from among themselves, and We bring you (O Muhammad) as a witness against these),
meaning, your Ummah.
The Ayah means: remember that Day and its terrors, and the great honor and high position that Allah has bestowed upon you.
This is like the Ayah with which Abdullah bin Mas`ud ended when he recited to the Messenger of Allah from the beginning of Surah An-Nisa'. When he reached the Ayah:
How (will it be) then, when We bring from each nation a witness and We bring you (O Muhammad) as a witness against these! (4:41)
the Messenger of Allah said to him:
Enough.
Ibn Mas`ud said:
"I turned to him and saw his eyes streaming with tears.''
The Qur'an explains Everything
Allah says:
(And We revealed the Book (the Qur'an) to you as an explanation of everything,) Ibn Mas`ud said: "Allah﴾ made it clear that in this Qur'an there is complete knowledge and about everything.'' The Qur'an contains all kinds of beneficial knowledge, such as reports of what happened in the past, information about what is yet to come, what is lawful and unlawful, and what people need to know about their worldly affairs, their religion, their livelihood in this world, and their destiny in the Hereafter.
a guidance,
means, for their hearts.
a mercy, and good news for the Muslims.
Al- Awza`i said: (And We have revealed the Book (the Qur'an) as an explanation of everything),
meaning, with the Sunnah. The is the reason why the phrase, (And We have revealed the Book to you), is mentioned immediately after the phrase,
And We shall bring you (O Muhammad) as a witness against these.
the meaning - and Allah knows best - is that the One Who obligated you to convey the Book which He revealed to you, will also ask you about that on the Day of Resurrection.
Then We shall indeed question those (people) to whom it (the Book) was sent and We shall indeed question the Messengers. (7:6)
So by your Lord We question them all about what they did. (15:92-92)
On the Day when Allah gathers the Messengers together and says to them: "What was the response you received (to your Message)!''
They will say: "We have no knowledge, indeed only You are the Knower of all that is hidden.'' )5:109(
And Allah says:
Verily, He Who obligated the Qur'an upon you (O Muhammad) will surely bring you back to the return. (28:85)
meaning, the One Who gave you the obligation of conveying the Qur'an will bring you back to Him, and your return will be on the Day of Resurrection, and He will question you about you commission of the duty He gave you.
This is one of the opinions, and it presents a good understanding of it.
