Ngl, I am having a lot of fun just making silly diy jewelry designs for Vendetta. 🥰 Ne makes a lot, especially out of wire. I feel like Themmy just gave nem a spool one day and was like ‘go wild you funky little gremlin’.
God. Vendetta would love the nickname of gremlin so so much too. :’l
#ne is like ‘i am one. :)’#malfunctioning re-gene. gremlin is a reasonable plausibility#I think Ven would pick another word than fuck#but all nir favorite words are so long#and Ichor is too on point#as much as Ven would want an Ichor one#gabe stfu#doodlenonsense

I was thinking about Vendetta’s word obsession and I don’t think?? I ever posted this dribble over here?? I still like it tho. c:<
It’s set at the Farm, so there’s an allusion to assault towards the end. Just as a heads up.
———
It’s not a word at first. You don’t know words yet, not truly. They’re just noises, ringing and singing, shrill and frustrated, floating around you in an amniotic soup.
None of them stick on you, not until this one.
The syllables dance together in your mind, melodic as they repeat themselves without prompt. You have no words, not yet, but sensations still exist.
Pleasant, something inside you settles on. It’s pleasant, this string of sounds.
Ven. Det. Ta.
They simply repeat themselves over and over, like a lullaby, lulling you back into a void without feelings.
——
Even as you learn new strings of syllables and repeat them to yourself silently—
(Woebegone. Apropos. Coalesce.)
—vendetta remains your favorite. It feels contrary, and you like the way it tastes on your tongue. Orange. Copper. Apricot.
All your favorite things tend to be orangeish: your ball, your hair, your word. It feels fitting in a way you can’t explain, like you belong in this spectrum of warmth.
You hum it in your dreams. It keeps the bad dreams away, especially when they appear physical in your room.
Vendetta (sanctuary).
Vendetta (safety).
Vendetta (shield).
Your first walls are constructed with those syllables, mortared between your unsaid no’s.
#vendetta frey#ven’s love for words and orange~~#dribblenonsense#maybe I’ll finish it one day#especially with some thoughts I Had about#nir other favorite words. 🤔

Hi have you seen the video of the 5 female hostages from Nir Oz? I made it a point to not watch any videos from Oct 7 or any of the other hostage videos Hamas publishes. But this one I had to see. And I feel physically sick thinking about what those girls are going through for the last 7 (almost 8) months. The more I think about it the more anger I feel. I am so so disappointed in all these feminists all these female celebrities siding with literal terrorists. Im just so so mad that I cant even put it into words properly.
Have I, Nonnie. -_- We all knew the kidnapping was bad, but it's still not like actually seeing it, right? Even seeing "just" a version that's partly censored (for example, at one point you'll notice there's a body of a girl still in her pajama pants, lying right in front of the girls being taken as hostages, and to preserve the murdered girls' dignity, in accordance with our Jewish value of כבוד המת, whenever the camera is about to show anything identifying of her, the footage cuts off).
Keep in mind, a part of what's so hard about watching the vid isn't just seeing human beings attacked and degraded, that's always awful, but it's especially terrible seeing these girls still in their pajamas, knowing that they were unarmed and weren't trained to fight. I can't stress enough how vulnerable and defenseless they were. Which makes everything worse, but especially seeing the patterns of where they've been bloodied, given that they didn't have any training to put on a fight: around their intimate parts and around the mouth.
BTW, 19 years old Naama Levil mentions in the vid she has a Palestinian friend. She did, she was a peace activist. Her mother said in one interview that a part of what hurts so much is that Naama was victimized exactly by the people she had faith in.
I want to share the vid, I'll just point out that the English subtitles are not completely accurate. One thing is that a terrorist says to one of the girls, "You are more beautiful" (as in, they're choosing which one of them is gonna get which girl, and he decided on her, because he thinks she's "more beautiful" than the other ones), but it's translated as "You are so beautiful." The second thing is that "sabaya" was translated as "the girls who can get pregnant." Which isn't untrue, but we know that Islamist terrorist organizations, like ISIS, use it as a term for sex slaves. Here's a reference to that:
Here's the vid, under the cut.

i get being nonverbal irl; but how does it equate to typing in broken english online?
hi.
1. am not nonverbal, am semiverbal. able speak mouth but difficult n with problems (short phrases, stutter, wrong words, wrong grammar, etc.)
2. being nonverbal / semiverbal does not 'equate' typing with bad grammar. some nonverbal semiverbal people type with correct grammar. some not. it individual.
3. some nonverbal semiverbal people are nonverbal semiverbal with only mouth speech problems. when brain mouth disconnect or disarthria or other reasons. can form sentences fine just can't say it by mouth. some not. some have other language problems. which impact forming sentences, finding words, etc.
4. nir semiverballness impact not only mouth. impact thoughts. impact language forming. translate thoughts into words is difficult. connect words together n form sentences is difficult. so not only speak weird. but type weird too.
5. if your question good faith, not best way to ask it. some people uncomfortable explaining why speak type this way. so better ask permission before questions about how speak type. also some people uncomfortable when call their way speaking typing 'broken.' better ask 'if comfortable, tell how semiverballness impact your typing.'

How to Build a Sustainable Writing Habit Through SCIENCE (Fuck Off, NaNoWriMo)
This is a lightly edited repost from a previous post on my mostly-defunct blog, topazadine.com. I feel like it's an excellent thing to highlight now that everyone's wondering what the hell do to after NaNoWriMo showed their ass as anti-creative idiots.
I have never liked NaNoWriMo and think, frankly, that it is a garbage tool for new writers. If you've done it and enjoyed it, that's great, but overall, it is not the best way to build motivation. At all.
But why is NaNoWriMo so bad? (Other than the current controversy.)
It encourages younger writers to think of writing as something they do during the months of October through November. Not something they do all year round, day in and day out. People will prep for weeks to do a whole novel in one month and hinge all their writerly hopes on that one singular month.
We won't even get into the fact that November is the absolute shittiest month to try to get a novel done because the holidays are coming up, and many working-class people are busting their asses off to get extra hours in before Christmas.
Writing is something you do all. the. time. It is not bound by a singular month. It is not limited to a certain time of year. And when you are working to complete a draft, it doesn't matter season it is. What matters is that you get it done.
So let me show you something better. But first, why should you listen to me? And why is my method an improvement over a shitty organization's AI-riddled contest?
I wrote the first draft of my novel, Poesy (104,323 words) in 39 days.
That’s an average of 2,647 words per day. It is also about twice as much as the typical person aims for during NaNoWriMo. I did not set out to get it done in any given time period, but I still completed way, way more than NaNoWriMo would require in just about the same amount of time (plus 9 days).
I didn't have a buddy group. I didn't have checkins. I just had me and my keyboard and my secret weapon, which I'll show you in a bit.
How is it possible to get so much more done without that external motivator?
Simple: I compete with myself.
You Need to Develop Intrinsic Motivation
What in the world is intrinsic motivation?
Intrinsic motivation is defined as the doing of an activity for its inherent satisfaction rather than for some separable consequence. When intrinsically motivated, a person is moved to act for the fun or challenge entailed rather than because of external products, pressures, or rewards. Frontiers in Neurobiotics
That is, in essence, what we do when we’re writing for fun; or, rather, it should be what we’re doing when we write for fun.
A lack of intrinsic motivation is why people who see novels as a get-rich-quick scheme tend to burn out when they realize that most writers make less than minimum wage. That's called extrinsic motivation, and it doesn't work well for things like writing, where there may not be any easily-defined goals or motivators. Most of us are not going to become rich from our writing.
Here's why extrinsic motivation is unhelpful:
Extrinsic motivation does not always work best; sometimes it can make us perform poorly at certain tasks. For instance, studies reveal that high stake rewards, like cash bonuses, can hinder cognitive capacity. This happens because they shift our focus away from the task and onto the outcome. We can become preoccupied with rewards and all the things that come with them, such as our social status, instead of just doing the work. Extrinsic rewards also tend to narrow our focus on a defined goal and reduce our ability to see other possibilities, hindering creativity. Studies find people perform worse on tasks requiring imagination and ingenuity when they are offered extrinsic rewards, such as higher pay. Nir and Far
And, well, note that "performing worse on tasks requiring imagination and ingenuity." Extrinsic motivation is literally the WORST motivator for writing specifically.
NaNoWriMo is extrinsic motivation, which is not anywhere near as powerful or sustaining as intrinsic motivation. You want to get the shiny achievement award, so you just bang out 50,000 words of slop because you want to say you did it.
You're not motivated by anything but the outcome. That does not a sustainable writing practice make.
But there’s something about intrinsic motivation I want to highlight, because it’s crucial to what I am about to show you: the challenge.
Sometimes writing is a total slog because we’re worrying about all the other things and not on the words themselves. We’re fussing about whether we will ever get published, if we’ve added enough tension in a certain part, if our mom is going to read our porn and realize what a freak they raised.
You cannot think about those things while actively writing.
Instead, you need to focus on the writing process itself. John Schinnerer, a psychologist and life coach, explains further:
Remember as you are in the process of achieving your goals that the enjoyment comes from the doing not the attaining. It is important to find contentment in the act of pursuing the goal while placing less weight on the actual fulfillment of the goal itself. PsychCentral
So we know you need to find the challenge fun, and you need to focus on the act of putting the words on the page.
In other words, you need to make it a contest with yourself. Here’s how.
Use a Word Count Spreadsheet
Finally! We get to why I’m telling you this! It's free, it's easy, it can be done all year round.
A daily word count spreadsheet is an amazing way to stay motivated and to keep pushing yourself to write because you can literally see the wins rack up. Every day, the word count jumps significantly, which can be much more motivating than just “oh, I’m at 8,453 words.”
More importantly, you’ll start to want to beat your “high score” from the day before.
I’ve highlighted one of the cells so that you can see the simple formula that you need to set up: it’s just yesterday’s count minus today’s count.
Put that in one cell, then click and drag the bottom righthand corner of the cell, and it will populate the rest of the cells in that column with the adjusted formula (B4-B3, and so on).
This is very easy to create. All you have to do is copy-paste the wordcount from your document into your spreadsheet, make sure you have that super-simple formula, and you're done. I have severe dyscalculia and can still use it.
But you can see how much this really helped me:
Things started to really ramp up right at the end because I was getting so motivated by the word counts of the day previous. I wanted to beat yesterday’s high score and keep going.
At the beginning, I was writing maybe 1.9k words; by the end, I was an absolute demon, regularly breaking over 2.8k and then some. On the last day, when the rest of the family was in a post-Christmas hangover, my butt was glued to my chair, banging out those last few thousand words.
Psychologists and life coaches agree that self-competition, a type of intrinsic motivation, is one of the best ways to improve.
Michelle Gibbings, a workplace expert, explains:
When you compete with yourself, you don’t become fixated on what other people are doing; you set the direction and speed. You put yourself in the driver’s seat and control your progress, setting meaningful goals rather than focusing on the progress of others. Michelle Gibbings
Making a word count spreadsheet like this is the definition of setting your own speed and controlling your progress. You can decide on a threshold you always want to hit and then feel very satisfied when you go beyond that.
I set my threshold at 1.5k words every day so that I didn’t feel bummed out when I had an off day and couldn’t get a lot done, but I really wanted my average to be around 2k, so I’d periodically check how close I was to that. If I had a terrible day or was busy, then I’d want to make up for lost time and write more the next day so I kept my average.
Now, I live a life that is quite advantageous to consistent writing: I’m single, I’m childless, I work from home, and most of my hobbies are pretty low-key.
Your life doesn’t look like mine, and that’s totally okay.
There’s no need to match the speed I showed here.
What matters is that your schedule works for you, and that you are consistent.
If you’re a caretaker or have a strenuous job, then set your threshold at just 100 words and aim for an average of 500. However, you’ll be sad if your spreadsheet has a blank cell, so you’ll want to get down at least something, even if you only have 15 minutes to write.
Plus, it’s so encouraging to see the word count go up day by day: much more satisfying than just seeing it in tiny font at the bottom of a Word document or Google Doc.
Or getting some dumb t-shirt from an organization that is actively trying to murder creativity for commercial gain. (Oh, and they protected an actual pedophile from consequences for months on end while he continued to groom children. But that was last year's controversy.)
There’s another reason why this particular method works so well for writers, though.
Word Counts Banish the Urge to Edit
You know you shouldn’t, but you do it anyway. A single word here. A removed sentence there.
The first draft is just about getting everything out, not fixing everything that needs fixing. That part comes later during your five billion revisions where you tweak every single word.
Revising means you have less to work with, which means you have less development. You can get rid of anything that shouldn’t be there when you’ve gotten to that very satisfying “The End” page.
If you are motivated by the spreadsheet method, then you are screwing yourself over if you edit.
Your word count went down! It looks like you did less than you did! You’re losing! Best add more, and fast!
(I had to include my placeholder chapter names; it was obligatory.)
Use strikethrough! Now you know exactly what you’ll be getting rid of when you get to the end of your draft, but you’re not decimating your word count. I removed the entire beginning of the book; that scene is super cute, though, so I later turned it into its own one-shot on my AO3 page.
I prefer doing that because then, if you find that you actually wanted to keep that scene or move it elsewhere, all you have to do is copy-paste from the old version, remove the strikethrough, and you’re all good.
So that’s my tool. It’s really that simple.
But even though it’s so simple, it works wonders for your motivation and consistency, which are crucial for a good writer.
Are you going to give it a whirl? You may find it nervewracking at first, but I encourage you to sample this method, especially if you have a hard time getting motivated.
And if you enjoyed this article, maybe you'll consider purchasing my debut novel, 9 Years Yearning.
This is not the book I drafted last year; it is in fact a prequel of sorts to that first novel. However, it helps set the scene for Poesy (the sixth book in the Eirenic Verses) so that you'll be all prepped for the masterpiece.
9 Years Yearning is a coming of age romance that follows the life of two young soldiers as they go from sorta-enemies, to frenemies, to friends, and then finally to lovers. It is a short read; you can probably finish it in about 2 hours all the way through. Perfect for a weekend romp.
If you do read my book, please don't forget to leave a review!
Reviews are essential to success on Amazon as they boost visibility. (Yes, even bad ones.) Always leave reviews, no matter how short, to support indie authors!

People I'd like to know better tag game!
tagged by @the-least-undefinable-ordinal
I don't get what the game is so I just stole their template lol hope that's ok
last song: been listening to Nir Knaan's new album on loop, espפסטה בשמנת (= Pasta with Cream Sauce) - [my interpretation is] it's a waltz about a guy making pasta for his partner who, unbeknownst to him, is just about to break up with him, as a metaphor for a love story between the guy and the pasta, itself a metaphor for eating disorders. it has so many ingenious pieces of lyrics (for example, it uses the word "ta'ale", which is both the third-person future feminine and the imperative male form of "go up" - so both "she'll (the partner) go up by stairs" and "(talking to himself) you, go up by stairs"). it fills me with such love of art. there's also a beautiful music clip for it on youtube
favourite colour: probably light blue - I like how calming it is; also, it has its own word in hebrew ("tkhelet", which actually used to mean "purple") and that's cool too
last book: I don't like reading, but uhh I sometimes leaf through Winning Ways for your Mathematical Plays bc I'm irrevocably conway-pilled
last movie: rewatched Glass Onion (: A Knives Out Mystery) bc I was bored. not as exciting on the second watch but whatchugonnado
last tv show: Ranma ½ (the netflix reboot)!! I like trans media what can I say, I only wish it could've been made with a more modern mindset, there's some missed potential. I'm also planning on watching the original after that bc the animation there is so pretty. also watching Brooklyn 99 bc I'm a comedy nerd
sweet/spicy/savoury: savoury :) I've had depression and anxiety, there's no other answer
relationship status: single and way too scared to mingle
last thing I googled: idk but my newest open tab is the nlab page on reflective subcategories - opened it bc I wanted to know what they are, left it open bc I don't get adjunctions :(
current obsession: just found a series on yt called "therapist plays Slay the Princess" (by Euro Brady). I love(!!!) Slay the Princess (still best trans allegory!!! and no one gets it), and the therapist is so empathetic and sharp, it's really fun watching them try to understand it (they haven't mentioned gender so far but I still agree with a lot of their analysis)
looking forward to: uhhh nothing I can think of rn. my main emotion is anxiety lately :( but soon I'm traveling to the US (and meeting my ex-wife🤭) even if it's just for a bit!! that's something! and I'm waiting for some bureaucratic stuff to go through so hopefully things start moving again
tags: @jansjo, @hewsos-from-lesbos, @thegneurshk, @bubbliterally, sorry if any of you got tagged already. also - anyone who wants to play and hasn't been tagged - say I tagged you and I'll edit this post to say that, no one has to know >:3

GN Reader x Lifeweaver - Halloween Movie Night
Content: Fluff with Niran and small platonic cuddles with Satya.
Word Count: 700+
A/N: No real plot in mind with this one, I just wrote until I found a good stopping point! Some cute Halloween fluff (with a little bit of Satya content for @lifeweaver-niran because we love her)
“AUGHHHH!!”
The jump scare got you so bad your popcorn went everywhere. You found yourself buried against Niran’s chest, clinging to his shirt. He chuckled a little before giving the top of your head a kiss.
“Oh Petal, you alright?”
You didn’t mind horror movies, but jump scares were always something you hated. Niran however loved them. The rush of adrenaline he got from them felt so good.
“N..no..”
You peaked up at him and he smiled at you, thinking you were just the cutest thing. He was surprised you wanted to watch such a scary film, especially late at night when it was dark and spooky.
“Oh gardenia, I’ll protect you!”
He coaxed you out from his chest, holding your waist, cuddling you a little tighter. He kissed your forehead and went back to watching the movie, and you did too, still cautious and fearful. You felt save with him though, and that’s all the mattered.
“Thank you..”
The whole time Niran holds you close comforting you, whenever he feels you getting too tense he whispers sweet nothings in your ear and promises that things are okay. It relaxes you and he tries his best to warn you of jump scares.
Soon though he found himself getting bored, the movie was getting a little repetitive and you were much more interesting. He began to rub circles on your hips working you up, before he leant down to whisper in your ear.
“Kiss me.”
You turn to your pretty boyfriend, whose lips are pursed slightly, waiting for a sweet kiss from his gorgeous partner. Of course you oblige him, stretching up to plant your lips on his.
The moment you do, he holds the back of your head, pushing you down on the sofa, tongue pressing against you, begging to be let in. Your hands find his waist, holding him from below as you open your mouth for him. You hear screams from the movie in the background, as a poor girl gets chased by the killer yet again, but in this moment all you care about is Niran. His hands roam your body, paying special attention to your hips and chest. His lips were soft, his tongue warm. He felt amazing.
Suddenly the door bursts open and you both jolt to look at the door, screaming in fear. A figure stood in the doorway, head cocked wondering why you were both screaming. The woman frowned.
“You two are hopeless.”
“Dearest!! You scared us!”
Satya rolls her eyes and stepped inside the apartment, locking the front door behind her. Niran doesn’t move, watching her intently, keeping your body pinned to the sofa.
“You have a bedroom Niran, please use it for such…. Activities.”
Niran blushed, sitting up right away and rubbing the back of his neck. You sit up too, nervously fixing your top. He apologised to his roommate who was less than pleased with him, scolding him on what she could have walked in on. You apologise too, yet she offers you a warm smile, stating that you shouldn’t apologise for Niran’s antics, to which he grins.
“Care to join us Satya? I promise not to kiss Y/N in such close proximity to you.”
“Fine, it suppose it reminds me of Halloween nights at the academy, we had good times back then.”
That’s how you found yourself cuddled up to Satya each time there was a jump scare. She looked at you like you were the most fragile thing and yet was all too happy to comfort you, promising it wasn’t real and that her and Niran would protect you. At one point she got so comfortable with you, she allowed you to lay your head on her lap, gently stroking your hair as you watched the end of the movie. Niran held your hand in his and pulled your legs into his lap, helping you get comfortable and stretch out across them both. Soon you were asleep, neither of them surprised. You looked so sweet. Satya turned to Niran who glanced her way.
“They are rather cute aren’t they.”
“Oh very much so.”
Both sighed, neither wanting to move, neither wanting to wake you up. Both smiling and settling in for a long night of movies, willing to wait up all night if that’s what it took to allow you to rest.

Oh! Yes! @sidesteppostinghours I'm always up for explanations and picking at Ven's brain. >:3
Doomed: Vendetta is just very fate-minded. Ne always has been, always will be. And ne can’t help but look at everything that has happened to nem, every twist, every turn, every chance, and think the ne is simply just doomed. Cursed. Personally bullied by the hand of Fate. It just feels like nir destiny, after all.
(And ne will one day meet Fate and try to rip their throat out with nir teeth as a thank you~)
Essential: All nir plans require nemself. Even if nir soul is rotten and doomed, Ven needs Ven to cross over whatever finish line ne’s gunning for. Plus, ne is pretty arrogant and egotistical. Ne knows nir worth, however damned it is. Essential is a must.
Here: Hmm. Despite everything, Ven is still here. The Farm couldn’t break nem. The Nanosurge and the Void couldn’t break nem. Not even Heartbreak. The only person who got close was Ortega and even she didn’t do it right. So, Ven is still here. Maybe not feeling quite alive some days, or hell even present, but ne can’t deny ne is indeed here. And some days, that's just enough for nem.
And honestly? Ne thought they all sounded decently okay. :')
how about 7 and 30 for ven? and maybe lulu if youre up for it? :D
Thanks Pulp!! ^^!! And yeah, I can toss in Lulu too. I really need to replay them again, but let's see what I remember for the moment~ >:3
7. Describe them in three words. Now let them describe themself in three words.
Mine for Vendetta: Perfectionist, Empathetic, Theatrical Ven's for Vendetta: Doomed, Essential, Here
Mine for Lulu: Angry, Divided, Romantic (more in the vein of romanticism) Lulu's for Lulu: Righteous, Resourceful, Romantic (same as above).
Vendetta…doesn't really like to think about nemself so directly. Probably why their therapy sessions are Going Great. :’)
And I'm starting to regret not letting Lulu be an art thief too. You would've slayed at it, Lulu. But alas, you want to punch heroes more~ u__u <33
30. What would they do if they knew it would be forgiven?
Boring answer, I'm sorry! Neither Vendetta or Lulu have ever considered forgiveness in terms of the things they do. ^^;; Ven already thinks of nemself as irredeemable, and just lets nir own moral guide nem more than the idea of forgiveness. “No one should forgive me anyways."
And Lulu is a touch self-righteous and detached? They either firmly believe in the things they do (culling incompetent heroes) or they brush it aside as not personal to begin with (civilian causalities). "Some people will die, it's nothing personal."
They miiiiiiiiight be tempted to put Ortega in the hospital for a good few months, just to get her out of their hair for a bit. Being around her makes Lulu remember their more idealistic romantic self instead of the self-righteous romantic self they are nowadays, and they hate that. When that wall finally cracks, oh. I don't think it'll be pretty. :'l Still, forgiveness isn't worth considering. Lulu will do what Lulu feels is right~~
#i mean doomed might be a bit much#but ven is shaking nir hands at nir life like#'what other word fits this?'#doomed is just honest. as is essential. and here.#all honest and objective and dancing along the surface#never under. mhm. maybe in book three#a lot of shit got cracked open in retri#so maybe ne will start to look deeper

OC Speech Mannerisms
Thank you @darkfire1177 for the tag! Tagging mhm, @the-golden-comet and @midnight-octopus (no pressure either) and anyone else if y'all want too. <3 I'm picking Vendetta because ne is the only one I've really thought about actual speech mannerisms in long time and I have thoughts, lol. Let's go! >:3
»» vendetta frey
NO. OF SPOKEN LANGUAGES: 1 / 2 / 3+
TONE OF VOICE: high (and raspy af) / average / deep
ACCENT: Yes (kinda?) / No
(Nir speech is accented to a degree, but it's just because Vendetta tends to mimic people so much. There's an something here, but given it's such a smorgasbord of dozen or so accents Ven's picked up over the years, it's never gonna sound like anything that specific.)
DEMEANOUR: confident / shy / approachable / hostile / other (dramatic with friends, indifferent with strangers)
POSTURE: slumped (absolute goblin, nir spine is a noodle) / straight / stiff / relaxed
HABITS: head tilting / swaying / fidgeting (!) / stuttering / gesturing (!!!!!!) / arm crossing / strokes taps chin / er, um, or other interjections / plays with hair or clothing / hands at hips / inconsistent eye contact / maintains eye contact / frequent pausing / stands close / stands at a distance
COMPLEXITY
VOCABULARY: ⬤⬤⬤⬤⬤
(Ne has an odd habit of speaking in threes sometimes when describing things, like ne is trying to find the perfect word. Caused Anathema to buy nem a thesaurus thick enough to kill a baby bird and Ven loved using all the ridiculous words ne knew when ne could. It was fun~)
EMOTION: ⬤⬤⬤〇〇
(Should be a four+ but the Farm is hard to shake sometimes.)
SENTENCE STRUCTURE: ⬤⬤〇〇〇
PROFANITY
FREQUENCY: ⬤◐〇〇〇
CREATIVITY (in regards to profanity): ⬤⬤⬤〇〇
BOLD ALL THAT APPLY: arse. ass. asshole. bastard. bitch. bloody. bugger. bollocks. chicken shit. crap. cunt. dick. frick. fuck. horseshit. motherfucker. piss. prick. screw. shit. shitass. son of a bitch. twat. wanker. pussy.
(Mhm. Vendetta swears more in Spanish, but prefers trading insults in English. Ne doesn't swear that much, insults way more or just bites people. Biting is a fun and fast and says more like 'fuck you' ever could. c:)
IMPORTANT QUESTIONS
DO PEOPLE HAVE A HARD TIME HEARING OR UNDERSTANDING YOUR CHARACTER? - almost always / frequently / rarely / never
(Not unless Vendetta is being purposefully obtuse but ne likes being heard too much to do that much, even as a joke.)
DOES YOUR CHARACTER'S INTENDED POINT COME ACROSS EASILY WHEN THEY SPEAK? - almost always / frequently / sometimes / rarely / never.
WOULD YOUR CHARACTER INITIATE CONVERSATIONS? - almost always / frequently / sometimes / never.
(More than you'd guess from nir bite ratio? Vendetta craves people and connections like nothing else, so eventually ne does reach out to make conversations, at least pre-Heartbreak).
WOULD YOUR CHARACTER BE THE ONE TO END CONVERSATIONS? - almost always / frequently / sometimes / rarely / never.
WOULD YOUR CHARACTER USE 'WHOM' IN A SENTENCE? - yes / no / only ironically
YOUR CHARACTER WANTS TO MAKE A COUNTERPOINT. WHAT WORD DO THEY USE? - but / though / although / however / perhaps / mayhaps (so rare, but so good. loves a well-placed mayhaps).
HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER END CONVERSATIONS? - walk away / ask if that's everything / say that's everything / give a proper goodbye / tell their company they're done here / remain quiet / they don't.
WHAT SOCIAL CLASS WOULD OTHERS ASSUME YOUR CHARACTER BELONGS TO, HEARING THEM SPEAK? - upper / middle / lower.
IN WHAT WAYS DOES THE WAY YOUR CHARACTER SPEAK STAND OUT TO OTHERS? - accent / vocabulary / tone / level / politeness / brusqueness / it doesn't.
(Bonus? Because I spent my whole walk home last week thinking about this and it's adjacently related, so fuck it~
Vendetta sings like a sledgehammer (affectionate), just a lot of emotion and power. Ne loves over-the-top songs since it's fun to go full-out. Mhm. Voice is a bit similar to Gin Wigmore? o: High pitched, raspy, not really traditionally 'pretty' but quirky and fun. It did get a bit lower and even more raspy post-Heartbreak tho Because Reasons, and Ven really doesn't sing as much anymore. Just when ne gets possessed by the few songs ne remembers and Must Sing. uwu <3)
#thank you for the tag! this was delightful. c: <3#always like thinking about ven's speech quirks~#ask games#idk who has played but go for it if you want to. i'd love to see. <3

First Verse SpandaKarika
"Yasyonmesanimesabhyaip jagatah pralayodayau/
Tam Sakticakravibhavaprabhavani Sankaraip stumah//
We laud that Sankara by whose mere opening and shutting of the eye-lids there is the appearance and dissolution of the world and who is the source of the glorious powers of the collective whole of the saktis (the divine energy in various forms).
Now the great lord who is the great God of the nature of Light has absolute Freedom (svatantrya), of the nature of Parasakti (the Highest Power) that displays Herself in the two poles of arani (I) and visarga (creation or idam i.e. the objective world) and is always full of the flash of a compact mass of bliss and whose essence consists in Full I-consciousness which is the supreme import of the multitude of letters.
Therefore the Svatantrya Sakti (the Power of Absolute Freedom) of the Lord is called spanda. This power though nondistinct from the Lord goes on presenting the entire cycle of manifestation and withdrawal on its own background like the reflection of a city in a mirror.
This sakti of the lord who is non-moving, being of the nature of consciousness is known as spanda in accordance with the root meaning of the word signifying slight movement. Thus the essential nature of the Lord is perpetual spanda (creative pulsation). He is never without spanda. Some hold that the Highest Reality is without any activity whatsoever. But in such a case the Highest Reality being devoid of activity, all this (i.e. the universe) will be without a lord or Creative Power.
The great teacher has written this sastra (sacred book) in order to explain the fact that our nature is identical with that of Sahkara who is full of spanda sakti, the essence of which consists in quivering light. Thus this sastra has been appropriately named spanda.
Svatantrya—Freedom or Iccha Will i.e. of Siva which brings about both manifestation and absorption. Unmesa and nimesa denote succession. Succession means Time, but Siva is above Time. Therefore, unmesa and nimesa have not to be taken in the order of succession. They are simply two expressions of Iccha sakti of the Divine.
In Spandasandoha, Ksemaraja says that there are many names of this Iccha Sakti (power of will) in this system. Spanda, sphuratta Crmi, Bala, Udyoga, Hrdaya, sara, MalinU Para etc. are synonyms of this Iccha sakti. In Spanda-nir^aya also he says : It is only spanda-sakti which is simultaneously unmesa and nimesa.
Ksemaraja concludes-
"In reality nothing arises, and nothing subsides, only the divine Spanda-sakti which, though free of succession, appears in different aspects as if arising, and as if subsiding."
Ksemaraja has pointed out that nimesa and unmesa refer to another significant concept of Saiva philosophy.
This is a philosophy of Evolution. Evolution has two aspects—the arc of descent or avarohakrama (nimesa) from the Divine upto the empirical individual, from Consciousness upto the matter and the arc of ascent or aroha-krama (unmesa) from the empirical individual upto Siva-pramata and from inconscient matter upto samvid or the divine consciousness.
The purpose of all the scriptures including Spandakarika is to show how the empirical individual can mount to the stage of Siva-pramata. Siva-consciousness is the upeya or the goal, the methods recommended in the book are the means (upayas) for reaching the goal (upeya).
"When there is unmesa or revelation of the essential nature of the Divine, there is the pralaya or disappearance of the world. When there is nimesa or concealment of the essential nature of the Divine, there is the udaya or appearance of the world."
As Ksemaraja puts it beautifully "Kalpitapramatrpada-nimajjanena samavisamah, tatsamavesa eva hi jivanmuktiphala iha prakarana upadesyah."
"We are united with Him by obliterating our state of assumed agency. This treatise is going to teach that identification with Him is the real reward of liberation in life."
Verse 1- (Mark Dyczkowski) Ksemaraja writes:
Thus whenever extroverted being rests in one's
own nature, all outer things are withdrawn and
one is established in the state of inner tranquility.
This is the Fourth State (turiya) which is creation
(persistence and destruction as well as their) union
(melana) (within universal consciousness).
It is the Goddess of Consciousness who vomits forth and withdraws every single thing in the moments of creation and the rest. She is always full (purna)and lean (krsa), both and (yet) neither, pulsingly
radiantly (sphuranti) and free of succession.
When the Supreme Lord Who is consciousness,
out of His own free will submerges the pervasive
(awareness) of unity and assumes the pervasive
(awareness) of diversity, then the powers of His
will, etc., although uncontracted, manifest as contracted.
It is then that this transmigrating soul,
obscured by impurity, comes into being.
Although the fettered soul is obscured by the
impurity of individuality (anavamala) brought
about by the contracted condition of his powers, he is nonetheless the agent of these five
functions, at least in the limited sphere of his
operation.
Ignorant of this, he is deluded by his
own powers; conversely when he realizes this,
consciousness which had, through its own
power of self-limitation, assumed the condition
of the individual mind agitated by its own
thought forms, turns in on itself and so rises to
the level of pure awareness, to resume its original pristine condition.
Cessation (vilapana):- All things forcibly (hathatah) consigned to the fire which burns in the stomach of one's own consciousness, abandon the division of difference and so serve to fuel it by their power. By this process of forced digestion, the duality of things is destroyedand the universe is turned to nectar upon which the deities of consciousness then feed and, satisfied, repose at one with Lord Bhairava, the Sky of Consciousness Who, full and perfect (purna), resides solitary in the Heart."

My personal opinion has always been that Skyrim lore alone spits in the face of established lore in the TES universe, which is hardly the first time. The retconning of Cyrodiil’s ecology comes to mind immediately.
I’ve long had a headcanon that the tale of the World-Eater Alduin is, if not wrong, then misunderstood. Certainly he’s supposed to be inspired by the Wyrm, Nidhogg, from Nordic mythology.
But what if that was a corruption of his sphere of influence?
Anu and Padomay were Stasis and Change, Order and Chaos, respectively. Paarthurnax and Alduin seem to be a reflection of these primordial siblings, and given they are “children” of Akatosh, that adds a layer of bittersweet tragedy to their roles. Imagining a lonely Akatosh/Auri-el/Anu recreating himself and his lost sibling makes my heart ache.
Going by the idea that Akatosh, Auri-el, and Anu (among others) are just facets and interpretations of the same godly being, him assigning to Alduin the almost identical purpose as what ended up corrupting and causing the fall of Padomay feels cruel.
And beyond strange, given that Nirn is the corpse of Anu’s wife Nir, and their many children. Whom Padomay slew. Why on earth would Anu want anything to devour Nirn, least of all a son he himself created to maybe [fill the void] of his previous loss. And this is the same guy who chucked Lorkhan’s heart to fuck for daring to intervene with Nirn even a little, and established a dynasty of mortals infused with his blood and will to protect Tamriel from Daedra. Who sent Padomay to the Void, whence he can never come back.
Change itself isn’t even an evil by design. Lorkhan’s desire for change won out, even if he was punished for it. Mehrunes Dagon, the Daedra of Change, Natural Catastrophes and Revolutions, is not evil by what he influences, so the same can be argued for Alduin, even if he’s more demigod than Daedra. And demigods are also an established thing, there have been several mentioned throughout Tamriel’s history, like Morihaus Breath-of-Kyne. Alduin claiming to be a son of Akatosh isn’t farfetched.
The idea of a World-Eater who regularly eats the world flies in the face of all lore about Anu. We know this because the Aedra are actual living things in this universe, who influence, appear to, and even talk to the people on Nirn. Auri-el walked among the Aldmer for a long time, just to have a walk. No biggie. The Septim line could all summon his Avatar in dragon-form as part of their bloodline’s contract. Note that the Avatar is one of Protection, not Destruction. The Septims could destroy as many mortals as they liked, even reshape lands and landscapes, but notice how they were still duty-bound to protect Nirn. From forces that could actually harm [her corpse].
So who exactly would benefit from Alduin the World-Eater?
Whose sphere used to be Change, whose corruption led to Nir’s death [the corpse of the world], who wishes for all things to come to the Void, to be Ended, more than anyone else?
Padomay. Sithis.
Hell, even the color palette of Sithis’ legion is the same as Alduin; black and red. The painful irony of the Betrayer Brother corrupting the son Anu created in his very image is just. No words. Even more so if Alduin doesn’t realize, doesn’t know he’s fighting under the banner of his father’s enemy. And what an amusing showdown it’d be; instead of a Dragonborn just Shouting the Problem away for Someone Else To Deal With, it’s trying to talk someone out of continuing down a path they were never meant to tread. A classic “come back to your senses”, only it’s aimed at a giant demigod dragon with a daddy complex.
#the elder scrolls#akatosh#alduin#sithis#i haven’t slept much can you tell#putting the headcanon into words for the very first time#note again this is a headcanon#i do not take criticism#say it with me#alduin = nidhogg is a cop-out#too basic#this is the unhinged fantasy universe#we’re not supposed to be basic here#typing format is a nightmare i know

I hope this isn't insensitive to say, but I love seeing you on my dash specifically because of how you speak. I am schizophrenic, and I've beaten myself up (mentally) about my alogia more times than I can count, and how when I'm trying to communicate despite it, my words come out... very weird, at least how other people see it. My husband has tried to help me with how much it upsets me by telling me he doesn't care, but I never considered it might be true until I saw posts of yours getting hundreds of notes. Maybe he really doesn't care if I baby talk because hard C is difficult, or if I rely on gestures despite my parents telling me how "rude" it is to "not use my words"
hi. gonna say lots of different stuff. not sure what appropriate n what answer required so sorry if inappropriate answer.
1. sorry you have to face ableism about way you speak. don't deserve it. every way of speaking valid. every way of communication valid. deserve be listened to. deserve be respected. not speak mouth isn't rude. gestures aren't rude. untypical pronunciation isn't rude. allowed communicate way you are. allowed communicate as able to.
2. am glad seeing ne makes you feel better. about how speak. maybe represented, don't know.
3. not sure if am completely ok with comment about nir speech. not completely not ok, but not completely ok too. got comments about how speak for whole life. sometimes how speak gets more attention than what try to say. sometimes instead of listening, only get jokes about how said. about wrong words, about new words, about weird way saying things. so sensitive. so not know if uncomfortable because what you said or because of trigger. have lots of things wanna say. wanna more attention to WHAT said, not HOW said it. not mad, just sharing feelings.
4. some people who speak type weird ok with comments about way speaking typing. some people not ok. so better ask before comment.
5. some people actually don't care how speak. some people actually listen what say, not how speak. some people not. second don't deserve our energy. because doing ableist thing. but still may be threat. so stay safe.
6. it's possible to find people who actually care about understanding you. about understanding what wanna say. what have to say. sometimes takes time n energy n bad experiences. but possible. hope you find more people like this. n less people who mock judge not respect not try understand.
