btw you guys ever think about Shedinja? i didn't know this before i raised one but Shedinja is created (separated??) from Nincada/Ninjask with the same moveset, same personality... i took it to have its friendship evaluated and the woman in Verdanturf confirmed: my Shedinja knows me. it loves me. though seemingly just created, it has memories of me, and maybe even memories of being a Nincada.

and yet, Nincada's evolved form is standing right there next to Shedinja. Ninjask is the completed form, the imago, with that exact same love, those exact same memories. until that moment of evolution, the two were one Pokémon.

i can't stop wondering. what must that be like? what must it feel like, being the ghost of a living being? finding yourself empty, outside your biological body, but your body is still there and the one inhabiting it is still you? and what does Ninjask feel, seeing eyes peering out from the shell of its old form, and then finding that those eyes are its own?

Just! Firstly! That body is so fuckin’ cute! A lot of the bodies if you want a fat doll is just ‘pear-shaped’ but only just so. That’s hardly any fat on the arms, which makes sense. It’s easier to design dolls that can mix and match with other sizes. They’ll be more popular over all. :/!

In the size that I mostly collect, Summerbird was really the only one? o: And I do have a Summerbird in my collection (thank you forever, Pete!), but like getting another wasn’t gonna happen. :’) So it was a struggle trying to find a body I thought would work for Themmy. And then, this body happened.

And I love it! It’s so damn neat and looks so good and it still seems like the engineering would pretty solid. I love LoganDolls’ other body so I have a good idea they’ll still pose wonderfully, or pose in a way I can figure out in time, lol.

It’s short as fuck too, like. Doll!Ven is 41~cm, Argent is 38~39cm. Anathema? Gonna 35cm. :’D But that’s fine. I can get nem some chunky shoes or a box if the height difference in photos is a bit awkward, lol.

Also! I’m so in love with the head sculpt, like you have no idea! I had a few ideas for a head sculpt for Anathema but as soon as I saw Wren, I tossed out all those ideas. 😅 The slight smirky-smile and those dimples?! Perfect! I love them! I can see Anathema so easily in them, it’s gonna be fun! >:3!!

I’m gonna paint like 13,000 freckles and it’s gonna be a blast. Ven’s gonna have nir wanna-be emotional support sibling back (and let’s be real, vice versa for Themmy).

So. The Project With No Name ramblings, because it now has a name! At least a temporary name. It’s gonna be called just Sunday’s Most Beloved. ^^!

I like cheeky and/or sneaky titles, and it fits on the sneaky end of the scale, for sure! I really wanted to include Beloved in it too, given main character and the plot revolves so much around them as a person too. It’ll be easy to pick out a Sunday for the Outbreak to happen on. The Sunday Outbreak of 1889 sounds like simple enough to call it, as much as I wanted to Dog Days in the outbreak name. u__u; It is too vague for that, I think.

I started plotting out the details too. I have a good idea where it starts and how it’ll end, and a lot of plot beats in the middle. It’s been fun trying to figure who would knew what clues to what happened back on the Sunday Outbreak and what happened before Beloved and The Preacher left town. >:3!!! It’s been coming together pretty easily too. The story isn’t like super complicated, or very long in scope.

But breaking up the plotting into months works well. Prologue starts in January, and it continues until like August?? I do want to climax to happen in July, lol. It would be perfect!

I did switch up The Preacher’s name from Ellington to Rochester too. Rochester just fits her better, and it fits the theme of everyone’s names better too. Fergus remains the only kiddo named after a post-1913 tornado now, but I love his name too much to change. Fergus is just Fergus. I can’t picture anything else fitting him as well. u__u <3

I’m still not sure about stat options though. Flavor text? Ideas for days! I’m so excited for those, lol. But actual stats, I’m not sure. Beloved is supposed to be… quite unskilled but I do like the idea of them building up skills while they’re sneaking away from Rochester in the town. Most of the main cast do love to share info and teach, lol!

Do I exclude Regina and nir handler (and nir past self) because those are the easy answers? :')

Regina and Handler are auto-avoids nowadays. In the past though, Vendetta did get a slight thrill out of slipping away from their handler and causing all sorts of shenanigans as ne wandered around unknown cities, listening to all the thoughts around them. There was definitely an urge to antagonize her a bit though Vendetta never quite registered that nemself. Feelings are weird when you can only dance around them, you know? She was so pokey and experimental and two-faced under her perfect little veneer, and seeing that perfect little veneer break ever so slightly because Vendetta interpreted an order slightly off was always a fun time. In the moment. The aftermath less so, but the aftermath was always less so, so~.

Vendetta enjoyed antagonizing Regina during nir second stay too. It was far more of a challenge, possessing scientists in secret and fucking with experiments ever so slightly to cause annoyances and setbacks while not getting caught, but Ven took all the fun ne could get. Why makes things easy, after all?

Also. For some deeply petty bullshit, there was a bakery that Vendetta loved, but ne mouthed off to the owner in the nir early days in LD and got banned for it. Vendetta detests that owner to an unreasonably petty degree, even to this day. Any time Vendetta got goodies from it (a great and easy bribe), Vendetta would eat all the treats from across the street, staring daggers at the store window.

🔅: What’s a place that holds special meaning to them? Why?

Excluding places like Themmy's apartment and Ortega's too, because there's a lot of fond and complicated feelings tied up in them, mhm. Panzavecchia's? It was one of the first local diners Vendetta ended up in when ne first got to Los Diablos. Always had a special, was delicious and easy to afford and while one of the waitresses was a bit chatty, she was easy to distract and the main cook was a very stoic guy with little to say. It was an easy place to frequent, and frequent it Ven did!

Funny enough, after a few months of visiting, the portions just exploded?? Like three meals worth of fries and sandwiches thicker than Ven's closed fist. Just an absurd amounts of food for the price but it always made it easier to come back. The waitress was harder to distract, she always loved chatting and asking how Ven was doing and even the main cook would take trips to the floor to see what Vendetta thought of the food. Chill guy, quiet thoughts, never said more than he needed.

It was, idk. Just a nice place and one of those places that Ven found and it felt like theirs. Like ne could bring nir friends over and show off the Neat Place With Great Food that ne (ne!!) found on their own. The novelty of that never wore off, lol. It was a lot of nice memories, and silly ones too.

Ne hasn't been back since Heartbreak, it just feels wrong to go back and taint those memories now, but Ven does miss it.

✨: What motivates them? Is it a deep rooted passion/motivation, or is it something they struggle with from time to time?

It's not a struggle, per se, more of a tug-of-a-rope between what she wants and what her father wants for her. Because Shrike really just enjoys being herself, living outside of town in her little shack of a house as she reads her little dime-store novels and looks for fossils and other strange things in the dirt. That's such a near-perfect life to her, minus her need for people. She does enjoy talking with people too, and that's all she needs to motivate her: a good book, an interesting divot in the ground and/or an interesting person to talk with. Shrike is very simple and easy to please in that regard. c:

But she is her father's only child and he wants more for her. For her to be a proper lady, settle down and have a family and just bring some good to their family name, like he did. This is in part because her older brother (the Marathon heir if you will) was taken in the tornado along with her mother, and he tried to keep Shrike close as a result. Oddly enough, her own mother was incredibly headstrong and blunt, and would 100% kick his ass from the grave for trying to force Shrike into a role she hated. 'Our Daughter Is Fine You Ass!'

But grief is a strange thing.

So, Shrike struggles with that. Honestly, she's kind-of hoping that if her weird fossil turns out to be a Big Thing, that her father will just finally Leave Her The Fuck Alone and maybe she can move back into town without expecting a damn fight every day. Because that's exhausting, but she isn't going to change herself for him. So, it's this or that she finally just moves away for good. There's other places with people and books and things to dig out of the ground. :c

💧: Are there any places they avoid? If so, why?

She doesn't avoid Daisy Creek entirely? She enjoys people too much, and likes to hear the new news coming in through the post and the station. But she visits far less frequently than she wants too because of her father. It's just exhausting having to gear up for a potential fight every time she goes back into town, because she's a good-for-nothing and a trouble-maker and wasting her life in the dirt.

It's been years since she actually has stepped inside her old family room too, even though there's definitely some mementos and trinkets and books she'd love to grab ...if they even still there. Shrike worries they were tossed out or sold or burned, and she hasn't found the courage to face that reality yet. It would break her heart if they were, the last straw broken between her and her father.

I finally found some glasses for Vendetta! :D Nir face is so small, normally glasses are painfully oversized or far too small, but these are actually quite cute! ^^!

I typically draw nem with some when sketching nir revel!look, and idk. Chunky glasses just help pull it all together? Ven will still be endlessly pissed that ne lost nir mullet and most of nir orange hair. Ne love both of those so so much. u__u;

It is a Very Good Look for nem. u__u <333

I just wanted to doodle Ven and Ortega at the end of the Heartbreak AU fic I wrote, a post-scene if you will with Ven all curled up in the ball sleeping and Ortega sitting with nem, questioning all that's happened. It's been a rough week+ for her, and it's sure to continue too.
