#ningguang hurt-comfort
Text
What happens when someone hurts Beidou? Ningguang wants to hurt the person who did it. Espesically this time.
ship: beidou × ningguang word count: 1.2k warnings: mentions of r*pe, mentions of getting beidou getting drugged, cussing, crying lots of crying, Ningguang calls Beidou baby a lot, breast sucking as beidou falls asleep because she is still crying content: hurt-comfort, angst summary: Beidou ends up getting drugged while she is out in Inazuma. She ends up sexually assaulted. When she gets back to Liyue, Ningguang notices that Beidou is acting weird. When Beidou is making breakfast for them Ningguang hugs her from behind and that’s hen Beidou breaks down. note: I am truly sorry Beidou.
Beidou just got off her ship, basically running away from it since she was in it having drinks. She wished this never happened to her, it hurt knowing that it did happen to her. As she walked into her and Ningguang’s house she realized her girlfriend wasn’t home at the time. She changed into something more comfortable she layed down on the bed and tried taking a nap.
Luckily it only took an hour or two to actually get to sleep, which was progress from the last few times since her se*ual assault. It had been days since she had actually slept due to waking up to having nightmares. This time was no different. Beidou woke up in a puddle of sweat so she gets up and goes to the bathroom and takes a shower. The water that hit her skin felt nice since it was the first shower that she had had since she was in Inazuma. The water that h her skin made her think that the water was washing away his touches. The touches that she did not want but since she was drugged she couldn’t stop him. She washed her body carefully so that she could get out and put clothes on since the SA has her not wanting to be naked for a long period of time since she was naked for such a long time while being attacked. After getting out of the shower she dried her hair and ended up looking into the mirror for a long time. Such a long time that she didn’t realize when she started crying. When she came out of her zoned out state she realized that she was crying. Beidou quickly dried up her tears before going to her and Ningguang’s room and putting some clothes on. She didn’t know when Ninguang would be getting home so she made herself something to eat despite her not wanting any food or to take care of herself. She made herself some Cream Stew since she found it easy to make and she needed to make herself something to eat and because it's good. As she was waiting for her food to finish cooking she layed in the floor staring at the ceiling. When the timer goes off she slowly pushes herself off the floor and puts her food in a bowl. She sat at the dining table with her bowl of Cream Stew then went and grabbed herself a glass of water. Once she finished eating she went back to her and Ningguang’s room to lay down. After she layed down it didn’t take her long to fall asleep tucked away in bed not really excited to see her girlfriend due to what happened. Beidou was in such a deep sleep for once that she didn’t even hear when Ningguang came home and showered then went to bed. When she woke up she felt an arm around her waist which made her panic and shoot out of the bed. Once she realized it was only Ningguang she went to the living room to calm her nerves down and to get a drink of water. She sat on the floor in front of the refrigerator as she drank her water. After she finished her water she started making herself something to eat as it was around 8 in the morning and she was hungry from sleeping quite a long time and having an early dinner. While looking in the pantry to find something to make she felt hands wrap around her waist which made her scream and pull away eyes filling with tears as Ninguang pulled Beidou into a hug and telling her it was just her. “Shhh baby its just me. Why are you so jumpy?” she asked jokingly, kissing the side of Beidou’s head. Beidou started sobbing loudly as she sank to the floor bringing Ningguang down with her. She continues to cry while tightly holding onto Ningguang. Luckily Ningguang dosen’t ask any questions as she just wants her girlfriend to calm down and to stop crying before she makes herself sick. ‘Ning he hurt me” Beidou sobbed as she tightly gripped onto Ningguang. To say that NIngguang was shocked to hear this from Beidou was an understatement, “Who hurt you baby?” Ningguang asked, petting the crying woman's head while holding her close. “The man that drugged me” She cried out as she basically sat completely on Ningguang. Ningguang sighed as she finally got what happened “oh baby, I'm sorry. Do you need me to do anything?” Ningguang asked as she kissed the crying woman before tears gathered in her own eyes as she realized just how much the man hurt her baby. Beidou pulled away from Ningguang so she could wipe her tears but when she seen Ningguang had tears going down her face. Beidou hugged Ningguang again then sobbed into her shoulder “please don’t leave me” she said while crying into her shoulder. Ningguang sighed then pulled away slightly to look at Beidou in the eyes “I have no reason to leave you baby, it wasn’t your fault. It will never be your fault” Ningguang said, as she pressed a million kisses, Beidou's tears off of her cheeks. Beidou giggles tiredly while she continues to cry. “I will never leave you” Ningguang says again before pulling her into a hug again before pulling both of them up off the ground. “I will make us food and you will sit on the counter and watch me” Ningguang said jokingly before picking Beidou up and setting her onto the counter so that Beidou could watch her and help her if he wants Beidou continues to cry as Ningguang makes breakfast for them both. Every chance that Beidou got she hugged NIngguang wanting to make sure the man's touches were gone but she knew that she would always remember the man’s touches. Once the food was done Ningguang plated some for both of them and they ate. Beidou did eat as she cried and held Ningguang’s hand. After they ate their pancakes Beidou was still crying as she kept remembering everything that happened. Ningguang just let her cry, making sure that she drank water here and there so that she wouldn’t end up hurting her throat and being extremely dehydrated.  Beidou let Ningguang take her plate as she was finished. She watched Ningguang wash the dishes for a second before going into their room and laying down. Once Ningguang finished the dishes she went to their room and seen Beidou laying down holding her pillow as tears rolled down her face. “Oh baby” Ningguang said, laying down beside her and pulling her close so she could try and calm down. She seen how Beidou was struggling to keep her eyes open as tears occasionally fell down her face, “Do you want me to take my shirt off?” Ningguang asked as she played with Beidou’s hair. She knew that Beidou liked to suck on her boobs as she fell asleep, especially when she is upset when she first gets home. Beidou nods and Ningguang takes her shirt off leaving her in sweatpants. Her mouth immediately went to Ningguang’s nipple and sucked on it, closing her eyes in contentment. Ningguang’s hand went to Beidou’s head again, playing with her hair. She knew that it wouldn’t take long for Beidou to go to sleep since she had been crying and upset. As Ningguang watched Beidou she felt herself getting tired as she had also cried. She quickly fell asleep while watching Beidou while holding her close so she knew that Ningguang wouldn’t do anything to her and she wouldn’t leave her.

Yae Miko, Ningguang and Yelan comforting Male!Reader after a nightmare!
A/N: That's right - you lived to see me post something. Enjoy!
CW: Description of the nightmare - images of destruction and raiding, non-canon monsters.
Tumblr media
The scent of smoke reaches your nose. It's dark all around you. And hot, so hot. You feel around, trying to map out your surroundings. You touch a table, and soon move deeper towards the familiar wall of your house, and soon reach the front door. Though the door is stuck, a strong bash is enough to swing it open. Darkness greets you, but you run out into void regardless.
You turn, and witness your house, your home, your livelihood burning.
Fire already settled comfortably across the entire roof, the beautiful woodwork now a blazing ruin. The heat drips from the top, having long set fire to the walls and foundations as well. The facade of your house, once clean and pristine, is now covered in dark, oily soot. Even the flowers weren't spared - now, the only proof of their existence being a pile of dirt and pottery, broken by the hellish temperatures.
This isn't happening. This isn't…
Just then you turn around to face the inferno behind you.
The city is burning. Not a single building isn't damaged or alight with roaring fire. Debris litters the streets - scattered fruits, burning wood, torn lanterns and broken vessels add to the chaos. The figures you spot on the orange backdrop both make your blood boil and send shivers down your spine. Hulking figures drag themselves through the cobbled alleys, crude two handed axes in the iron grip of their rotting hands. The shoulder guards shine a blue hue upon your eyes, their faces blurred and unfocused. They go door to door, breaking in those yet unharmed. The cut off screams sounding out from the homes they enter make your fists clench.
You turn your head and see them. They stand across the street on the widest point in a line formation, overlooking all exits and entrances of the area. Soundlessly they float above the rubble, the purple smoke filling their legless torsos casting ominous shadows on the cobblestone below. They clutch the black javelins in their skeletal hands, ready to strike at the slightest que.
It's unreal. The bodies. The screams. The monsters, crawling across the city. They walk on all fours, both dog and humanlike in appearance. Filled with crooked teeth, their elongated mouths drool repulsively as they move from body to body, looking for loot with their clawed, malformed hands.
Your eyes dart across the image in front of you. Dead, dead, so many dead. Mauled corpses litter the street, not one recognisable in the dim light of the fire. Your head boils with fear and rage, and on instinct you run forward. The heaviness of the shield on your left arm and feeling of rough leather of your sword hilt give you a sense of comfort.
A swing approaches you from behind. You turn and block the axe, retaliating with a chop to the side of your attacker's midsection. Whatever is attacking you, you can't tell. All you know, all you feel is you have to fight. Fight this. Protect your home. Protect her. You can't let them do any more evil.
You swing wildly, hitting at most blurry silhouettes of threats. They retaliate with swords, spears, axes, cleavers. They maul your body, but you don't feel pain. You feel nothing, yet you can tell your body is shutting down. You strike, again and again, despite your limbs losing strength, one by one. You fall.
For a brief moment, you see clearly.
You see her face, pale, bloodied, lifeless.
Opening your eyes, blurry with tears, you feel not the hard stone below you, but a soft mattress instead.
Yae Miko
It's not the first time. Miko knows what to do. As soon as she comes to her senses from the sudden awakening, she will take charge and calm you down.
"Shh. I'm here. You're okay. Here, hold my hand. It's warm, isn't it? Nice, soft and real. Breathe, my dear. You're safe."
Miko will pull you into herself tightly so you can feel her presence. She'll speak to you slowly and gently, keeping her voice calm and steady.
As much as she hates seeing you in pain Miko can't help but admit that it's heartwarming. Seeing how much genuine distress the vision of her getting hurt brings you makes her feel like the most loved being in Teyvat.
She has a habit of teasing, true, but your own struggles will never be treated lightheartedly. As your wife, she is there to support, not ridicule.
Yae Miko will be there to bring you back to reality and straight into her arms no matter when it occurs, nor what you saw. She will do it once, twice, thrice and how many more times you need it.
Ningguang
At first, she was quite surprised, woken up to you clutching her tightly, thanking the Archons she's alright.
Ningguang was fairly concerned at first - she doesn't usually see you this disturbed. Upon catching the fact that it's a nightmare, she immediately focused her attention on calming you down.
"Breathe in, breathe out. Just like that. You're doing great. I'm alright. There's no need to worry, darling. I'm not going anywhere. Not now, not ever."
Even the greatest of the greatest have moments of weakness. And the courage to show vulnerability? It's a value on its own, Ningguang thinks.
Being able to comfort you in such a vulnerable moment is a true privilege, and she will show only the utmost care towards you.
Yelan
Her vigilant ears picked up your muttering quite a while before the nightmare woke you up. When it did, you found your hand in hers, Yelan's eyes resting kindly on yours.
"Don't worry. I'm here, and I've never been better. What you saw wasn't real. It was just a dream, sweetheart."
She held you as you cried into her shoulder, your head hidden in her gentle arms. With her assurances, you soon fell back into a comforting slumber.
When you wake up in the morning, and if you agree, Yelan will gladly hear more about the dream. It might uncover some problems she could help you with. The last thing she wants to see is you struggling.
In her line of work, death or abduction is a constant risk. It's no wonder the thoughts of something happening to her are there. Although she can't guarantee that something like that won't ever happen, she will promise to be careful.
She's certainly going to make up all the anxiety she caused with gentle kisses and comforting touches.

[read it on ao3]
“Do you remember how we first met?” Ningguang is careful about the way she asks the question, her hands balled into fists against Beidou’s bare chest, her head pillowed against her shoulder. Beidou’s fingers graze up and down her back, it’s the only way Ningguang knows she isn’t sleeping.
Those fingers draw to a stop in the middle of her spine, Beidou’s thumb digging in without the force it would take to actually hurt.
“You threw a rock at my head.” Beidou answers simply, “Is that what you’re thinking about with such a serious look on your face?” They’d been children then, not that either of them got much of a chance to be children. Beidou had been hellbent on her own survival and Ningguang had walked all over Liyue, from the harbor to wharf, selling her wares just so her family might have a little extra money. Ningguang hadn’t thought about why she decided to throw a rock at Beidou back then, she just felt compelled to do it. Something that Ningguang hadn’t had a word for back then had masked itself and paraded around as childhood cruelty.
“I threw a rock at you because I thought you were pretty and I wanted you to look at me.” The truth doesn’t come out easily, her eyes focusing hard on the expanse of skin between where she lays and Beidou’s shoulder. She can still faintly pick out where she’d sunk her teeth into Beidou earlier, a punishment for straying so far for so long. She doesn’t expect Beidou to snort and laugh, but she isn’t surprised either. The only reason she still sits up on her elbows is because she knows Beidou expects her to.
Ningguang lets Beidou follow after her, the blankets falling away from the both of them as Beidou sits up and holds Ningguang against her chest, one arm draped over her back while the other hand brushes hair from Ningguang’s face. Ningguang can’t stop herself, she’s already reaching for Beidou with both hands outstretched. “I thought you were dirty and loud and I didn’t want you to look at anyone but me.” Beidou’s cheeks are warm in Ningguang’s hands, her thumbs tracing over her lips.
She’s always been possessive and selfish, but both of those things took new levels when it came to Beidou. The rest of the world could look, Ningguang wouldn’t care just so long as Beidou never looked at anyone else. Men and other women alike, none of them were allowed to have the kind of warmth Beidou looks at her with, it was Ningguang’s to keep like a hidden treasure.
Beidou’s fingers splay wide against her back, tangling in Ningguang’s hair and tugging at the ends as she’s pulled in, their lips crushing together. It lacks the desperation and the heat from before, but Ningguang still moans into it. She can still taste herself on Beidou’s tongue. She’d ridden Beidou’s face for what seemed like forever as a punishment for sailing so far away from her reach. Beidou had proven her apology by digging her fingers into Ningguang’s thighs, holding her in place long after Ningguang had granted her forgiveness. Beidou had left Ningguang aching and bruised. Beidou took Ningguang into her hands and made her tender in ways no one else could. Ningguang knows she should hate her for it, for knowing her so well and so completely, but it only makes her want to keep Beidou closer. It only makes her more selfish.
Ningguang sinks her teeth into Beidou’s bottom lip to prove it, shifting herself over until she straddles Beidou’s thigh. “NingNing’er,” Beidou teases, a drop of blood clinging to her lips before Ningguang leans in to lick it away, “you’re acting like I’ve ever so much as glanced at anyone else.” Ningguang hates that nickname, she hates that Beidou uses it so fearlessly, she hates that Beidou is already dragging her back and forth over her thigh before she can object. “I’m only interested in treasures, after all. You said so yourself, didn’t you?”
“Liar.” Ningguang sighs and wraps her arms around Beidou’s neck, pressing herself closer. She grinds herself harder against Beidou’s thigh as a punishment, wrenching the control away from her all too quickly and biting her own lip. “You brought back that girl from Inazuma and acted like you were over the moon for her.” They hadn’t been children back then, but they still hadn’t been old enough to know better just yet. They’d still been young enough to play games of the heart with each other. Ningguang can’t claim full innocence either, she’d played with Beidou more than enough all on her own.
Two of Beidou’s fingers drag slow, heavy circles over Ningguang’s clit as a grin blossoms on her face, “I forgot about that. You looked like you wanted to claw her eyes out.” The memory of Beidou pulling that stunt felt as if it were a lifetime ago now, it was before Beidou was a captain, it was shortly after she’d started making her way, Ningguang hadn’t been the Tianquan then, either. A kiss, light and feathery, lands against Ningguang’s cheek as a moan slips past her lips.
“I was going to.” Ningguang says it without an ounce of guilt. That girl had known what she was doing, she’d even had the audacity to look smug while she hung over Beidou, her arms around her waist rather than around her neck the way Beidou preferred. She’d done everything wrong and Beidou had still brought her all the way back to Liyue. “What were you thinking?” There’s hostility in her voice as Ningguang catches Beidou’s wrist and drives her hand forward, needing to feel Beidou inside of her. Beidou’s thumb picks up the abandoned post her fingers left, the three appendages working in tandem to soothe Ningguang’s temper.
“You broke my heart, Ning. What else was I supposed to do?” The wound is old, long since scabbed and scarred over, but there’s still something tender and painful in Beidou’s eye when Ningguang pulls back to look at her, her hips going still and her arms tensing around Beidou’s neck. It gives Beidou the opportunity to snatch control away from her yet again and push her down onto her back. Ningguang spreads her legs and wraps her thighs as tightly around Beidou’s waist as she can manage. It’s a silent plea for Beidou to stay, to not get up and walk away from her, for Beidou to stay where Ningguang can reach over and feel her too warm body and lay her head on her chest.
Beidou’s fingers and thumb are still damp with Ningguang’s slick as Beidou wraps her hands around Ningguang’s wrists, pinning them to the bed while she looks down at Ningguang. The expression on Beidou’s face would be unreadable to anyone else, but to Ningguang the hurt and desire mix into something tumultuous, like crashing waves during a storm, like a hurricane about to deliver itself onto the shores of their hearts. “I lived for your letters. At every port we stopped at, I hoped that you’d written to me and that you’d sprayed the paper with your perfume so I wouldn’t have to try and remember what you smelled like when I held you in my arms.” Ningguang had convinced herself that she was the cruel one, but what other name is there for the way Beidou grinds them against each other? “I thought about you day and night, about how we were going to get married just as soon as we’d saved up enough mora.”
Ningguang can’t help the way her body jolts in response to Beidou’s weight against her, moans ripping out of her faster than she dares stop them. “Beidou,” Ningguang tries, but Beidou interrupts her with a snap of her hips and the tightening of her hands. Ningguang thought she knew what agony was, she thought it was waiting through storm after storm, hoping against hope that Beidou hadn’t been dragged to the bottom of the sea. She thought agony was repeatedly peeking through a door she’d slammed shut.
“I knew your mother hated me, that she thought I would ruin you. I just never expected you to agree with her. I never thought your next letter would say that you couldn’t marry me. I never thought you would send your engagement necklace back.” It hadn’t been easy, Ningguang hadn’t taken off the pendant since Beidou draped it around her neck. The noctilucous jade had been heavy, but it had been Ningguang’s prized possession once. She thought sending it back to Beidou would kill her, or if it didn’t, it would kill Beidou instead. The thought alone almost made her keep it.
Beidou’s throat catches, dragging out something between a moan and a sob as she hangs above Ningguang, her breasts starting to bounce as she picks up the pace of her grinding. “You wouldn’t even tell me why, you sent back all my letters without even opening them, Ningguang.” They never talked about it. It was an unspoken agreement, it was the kinder thing for both of them, at least Ningguang had thought so. “I couldn’t even get you to see me when I got back.” Beidou’s words get tighter and tighter the closer she drags the both of them to orgasm, her grip on Ningguang’s wrists loosening and then tightening again at intervals.
“What… What did you do with the pendant after… after I sent it back to you?” Ningguang asks, breathless but still desperate to know. She’d always wondered, but she’d never been able to ask. Not until now.
“I threw it into the ocean.” There’s an angry edge to Beidou’s voice, angry enough that Ningguang thinks it might be a lie, that the pendant might still be laying in the bottom of Beidou’s desk drawer aboard the Alchor, waiting for the day it would be returned to Ningguang’s hands. “I was too drunk to care.”
Wrestling her hands free, Ningguang drags Beidou down for a proper kiss, before the anger has a chance to sink in fully. Beidou would stay away out of spite if it did. Ningguang couldn’t bear that. She barely survived it all those years ago.
Her kiss is Beidou’s undoing, it often is, but Ningguang clings to Beidou through it, refusing to let her pull away again. Her nails dig into Beidou’s back and her scalp as Ningguang comes hard again, she’d already lost track of how many times Beidou had brought her to orgasm, though her mind still goes thick and sluggish as if it were the first time.
For a long moment, Ningguang wonders if Beidou has gone sullen, her eye angry and her mouth refusing to open, but then she feels it. Something hot and wet burns against her shoulder and Ningguang tightens her arms where they lay instinctively.
She would marry Beidou now. She would wear the green and gold wedding robes and the heavy crown atop her head. Ningguang would buy Beidou three more ships as a wedding present because she could. But the Beidou who would hold Ningguang’s hands in her own and ask her in a soft voice, both of her eyes shining, if she would marry her is gone. That guileless Beidou lays at the bottom of the ocean with the pendant she’d worked day and night for three months to buy.
Ningguang had drowned her and then she’d fallen in love with Beidou all over again. She’d accepted and loved this new Beidou who’d never let their knees brush while she asked for her hand. Before she can stop them, tears spill out of her own eyes and drip onto the top of Beidou’s head, her breathing turning loud and rough.
“Ning?” Beidou calls, her voice wobbly, but strong as she fights past Ningguang’s arms. “Oh fuck, Ningguang, I’m…” Beidou starts, but trails off, her hands reaching for Ningguang before stopping and restarting again. They didn’t do this with each other, it was how Ningguang liked it. Beidou’s hands, callused and wonderful, find Ningguang’s cheeks and wipe away the tears.
If she had any sense left, Ningguang would push Beidou away and kick her out for the night, but she can’t, she might die if she had to watch Beidou’s back get smaller and smaller as she walked away from her again. Instead, against her better judgment, Ningguang leans into Beidou’s hands and breathes hard to try and pull herself together, her eyes squeezed shut.
“That girl from Inazuma,” Ningguang starts, her chest still heaving, “it wasn’t because you…loved her, was it?” They aren’t young anymore, Ningguang won’t beat around the bush. She forces herself to say the word. “You only carried on with her because you wanted to bother me, didn’t you?” No matter how old she is, the memory still makes Ningguang feel juvenile enough to froth with jealousy.
Beidou could have done more with that girl from Inazuma, she could’ve played the game longer. She could have let that girl lean in closer and kiss her neck like Ningguang did, she could have sat her in her lap at Wanmin Restaurant like she used to talk Ningguang into doing and she could have held her tight around the middle, but she hadn’t. The second Ningguang had stormed over, cold indifference in her eyes towards the girl, Beidou had let herself be dragged off and pushed against the wall of some alley. Ningguang had intended to argue and raise her voice, she thought she was shaking with anger, but she’d collapsed against Beidou’s chest and realized too late that she’d been shaking with envy and heartbreak all at once.
“I don’t even remember her name, Ning.” Beidou answers and Ningguang can’t find a single lie in the depths of her eye. It shouldn’t soothe her as much as it does, but a knot works itself loose from between Ningguang’s shoulders. “She wasn’t you, that’s all that mattered to me back then, and it’s all that matters to me right now.”
The girl’s name had been Haruka, and she’d thrown a fit when she caught the two of them kissing as though they were the only two sources of air for each other in all of Teyvat. Ningguang doesn’t feel an ounce of guilt for keeping tabs on her even after she’d gone back to Inazuma.
“How fickle the great Captain Beidou is.” Ningguang says, her thumb tracing over Beidou’s bottom lip as it swells. She’d been cruel, but she knows Beidou can handle it, she knows how much Beidou looks forward to it.
Never again would Ningguang deprive her of it.

her star
In all her years of barging into the Jade Chamber, Beidou is fairly certain she’s never heard this combination of words come from any of Ningguang’s secretaries — until now. “What do you mean, the Tianquan is not taking visitors today?” she repeats, raising an eyebrow.
Baiwen sighs. “It’s her orders, Captain. Come back another day?”
“Nah. I’m leaving for Sumeru tonight.” Beidou shrugs, brushing past the secretary and poking her head into Ningguang’s study. No Ningguang.
“Captain—”
“Come on!” The pirate strolls towards Ningguang’s bedroom, completely unfazed by the three ladies helplessly trailing her. “Five minutes.” She never leaves Liyue without telling her star.
Beidou pushes open the unlocked door before the secretaries can stop her. “Ning—” She pauses, wondering why the room is so dark. The curtains are fully drawn to boot, blocking even the faintest hint of sunlight. “What’s going on? You suddenly got an allergy to sunlight?”
“Shh!” Baishi hisses.
Beidou folds her arms, raising an eyebrow again.
“Please just come back another day,” Baixiao pleads. “Lady Ningguang is—”
“It’s alright,” a soft voice suddenly says from the darkness, “I’ll see her.”
Beidou turns back to the shadows, taking in a rather unfamiliar sight: Ningguang, with her hair down, dressed in violet silk robes. Tired wine-red eyes lock onto hers for a moment. “You can leave us,” the Tianquan murmurs. The secretaries bow and close the door, though Baishi shoots Beidou a rather vicious glare. The captain, however, only has eyes for her fading star.
“Ning?” she asks softly, approaching the slender woman as she sways unstably on her feet. “What’s wrong?”
Ningguang offers no answer. Beidou gently pulls her close and she all but melts into her firm embrace, her legs giving out. The pirate is quick to catch her, carrying her love the rest of the way to her bed. The sheets are a mess. Quietly, she lays Ningguang down before pressing the back of her hand to her pale forehead. Even through her gloves, Beidou can feel her forehead burning. “Archons.” She gets up, rummaging through Ningguang’s drawers. “You can’t just sleep this off, do you have medicine somewhere?”
“Third… drawer,” comes the slurred response.
Beidou grabs the bottle, slipping a hand under Ningguang’s head to prop her up. “Here,” she coos softly, lifting the bottle to her lips. The Tianquan obediently finishes the concoction, her nose wrinkling in disgust at the bitter medicine. With that settled, the pirate studies her carefully. Ningguang’s normally-vibrant red eyes are dulled, her eyelids barely half-open. She shivers all of a sudden. Quietly, Beidou pulls the soft fleece blanket over Ningguang, stroking her hair tenderly. “Baobei. You should’ve told me,” she scolds gently.
“You’re… leaving tonight,” Ningguang murmurs sleepily.
“You’re more important than whatever business I have in Sumeru, my star,” Beidou whispers, leaning in to kiss her forehead.
“It’s just a… mild illness.” A feeble protest.
“Mild or no, I’m staying. My partners can wait,” the brunette says firmly. “I’m not leaving you alone, Ning. These fevers can get bad quickly.”
Silence. Then — a quiet whisper: “Thank you… Beidou.”
Tenderly, she leans down, pressing another kiss to Ningguang’s forehead. “I just want you safe and well, my star.” I worry for you.
“So do I,” Ningguang mumbles, her eyes already starting to close.
Beidou encourages it with gentle pats on her head. “Get some rest, okay? I’ll be here,” she promises, “Rest well, my heart.”

Look At Me, Perceive Only Me
Pairing: Beidou/Ningguang (Beidou) Rating: Teen Summary: Ningguang traces Beidou’s footsteps within the Captain’s quarters of The Alcor—yearning, recalling, missing Beidou. Even though Beidou was right there, on the other side of the door, albeit paying more attention to her crew; her visitors; and her hearty companions; who had all arrived in celebration of another one of The Crux’s achievements. Ningguang had received the invitation from Beidou herself, enclosed in a special envelope embroidered at the seams in gold and red, just the way she knew the Tianquan would have liked.
Yet here she was, alone, in the Captain’s quarters, acquiescing to the company of none but her own tobacco pipe and a pirate’s ashtray. She lit and lit her kindling ablaze, without restraint, as though to set her unhappy, ugly self on fire; to burn her desire to ashes; anything at all, as long as her suffering would end and she could rise again from the flames.
Tonight, Ningguang had wished to be seen only by Beidou, to be perceived only by the woman she loved.

Zhongli’s coupe snaked through the parking lot at the Northland Bank. Winding through the various parked cars and valet staff spotted across the asphalt, the anxiety that had been coiling in the pit of his stomach grew tighter. Each car that he passed was distinctly not the eleventh harbinger’s powder-blue convertible.
Zhongli banished the thought. Childe said he was here, so he was here. It didn’t do either of them any good to have Zhongli skulking through the parking lot, and probably drawing attention from the bank’s expansive security detail.
Looping back to the main driveway, he pulled up to the valet station and stepped out of the champagne coupe, quickly exchanging the key for a ticketed placeholder, and walked up the short stairs to the main door.

“I have some news you won’t like” Ajax mumbled against Zhongli’s cheek, pressing an apologetic kiss to his temple.
Zhongli gave a hum of disapproval, languidly stretching and shifting on the mattress, pulling Ajax tighter against his shoulder.
“I’m going to be gone for the next few days, work stuff. I’d wiggle out of it if I could, but it looks like they actually need me.”
“Where are you going?” Zhongli whispered, half asleep.
“I’m staying local, actually.”
Zhongli’s gaze met Ajax’s, a budding confusion showing in his expression.
“What do you mean?”
“I have an assignment at the Northland branch here in Liyue, but they’re having some higher-ups come in, and it’s going to be nothing but politics and policies for a few days. Between keeping up with my with my actual work and the sheer amount of political jockeying I have to do, Ekaterina said to just plan on passing out on one of the couches in the back every couple days.”
“They torture you” Zhongli huffed,  closing his eyes and snuggling even closer into Ajax’s side.
Ajax’s expression iced over, guilt stabbing through his chest. He already hated lying to Zhongli, but the poetic irony of his lover’s declaration almost made it feel worse somehow.
———
“I’m here to see Tartaglia”
“Name?”
“Zhongli”
“I’m sorry, he doesn’t have any public appointments scheduled today, are you sure you’re here to see the harbinger?”
“I don’t have an appointment “ Zhongli replied, “it’s urgent and I couldn’t get ahold of his direct office.”
“I’m sorry, but unfortunately I won’t be able to schedule you for a walk-in meeting today. If you’d like I can set an appointment later this week-“
“I’m his fiancé” Zhongli interrupted “it’s a family emergency. I need to see him.”
“…I, one moment.”
Zhongli fidgeted with his engagement ring as the receptionist dialed an extension and waited for the line to pick up.
“Hello? Yes, I have a visitor for Tartaglia. Yes I- I understand however I have an unusual situation-Sir, what would you like me to do about- one moment.”
The receptionist held out the telephone to Zhongli with an apologetic smile.
The building worry threatened to suffocate him as he took it.
“Childe?”
“Hi sweetheart-“ by Celestia, he sounded tired, “what’s up?”
“You’re okay” Zhongli sighed with relief, Even though he’d tried not to think about it, he knew how dangerous Childe’s career was, and he had been fearing the worst.
“Yeah, I’m okay” he chuckled, “I’m at work, why wouldn’t I be?”
“I was just… worried. You haven’t answered my calls in a couple days and I was worried-“
“-shit, I’m so sorry!” Childe interjected, “fuck, I left my phone at my desk and I honestly haven’t been back to check it, by the Archons, I must’ve worried you sick-“
“It’s okay” Zhongli insisted, “You’re okay and that’s all the matters. You are doing alright, my love? You’ve never stayed this long at Northland, I’m concerned.”
“I’m fine, really “ Childe replied “a little more tired than usual, I’ve been going pretty much non-stop the past… what has it been now, four days? I lose track of time in here.”
“Where are you, Childe? I thought you said this was all meetings.”
The dull buzz of the telephone hung in the air.
“I.. I’m here at Northland, truly Zhongli, I know you’re worried but I’m just working away from my office.”
“Your car isn’t here” Zhongli replied.
Childe was faster to cover the second time “Ekaterina must be out, she sometimes takes the car to run work errands or pick up lunch-“
“Can I see you?” Zhongli pleaded “Just for a minute or two, I won’t keep you long, I just- I need to know you’re okay.”
Another pause.
“I… one second-“ Zhongli heard the soft thump of Childe’s palm covering the other end of the call and his muffled voice. He couldn’t make out what Childe was actually saying, just the timbre of his voice. He didn’t recognize the muffled reply Childe got, but his heart sunk at the agitated tone.
Zhongli heard more thumping as Childe adjusted the phone again,
“I’m sorry I worried you, of course it’s okay for you to see me, would you give the phone back to the receptionist? I’ll let her know it’s okay and someone will take you back- I’ll see you in a minute, okay? I love you.”
“I love you too” Zhongli barely registered handing the phone back to the receptionist, or the short conversation she had with Childe before hanging up. It was all he could do just to still his heart and not bolt through every hallway until he found Childe himself.
— — —
“You know, despite your incessant whining, taking a break isn’t going to make this any easier. In fact, it’ll actually most likely delay my research, we’ll probably have to reset at least the last hour’s worth of endurance testing-“
“What the fuck else was I supposed to tell him, Dottore?” Childe snapped back, “thanks to you I’ve been gone nearly a fucking week, and if you would’ve given me, I don’t know, maybe two minutes to check my phone in the past forty-eight hours, we wouldn’t even be fucking dealing with this-“
“Whatever you need to tell yourself to feel better, it’s not improving my research”
“Shove your research up your ass- and clean this shit up,” Childe gestured wildly to the blood-covered blades, blunt weapons, syringes, and various research equipment that was scattered about the room, “you think a phone call is bad? I don’t think even you want to know what’ll happen if he sees all this.”
Dottore stared back at Childe with what could only be described as a malevolent smile as Childe wobbled to his feet and limped out the door.
How in Teyvat was he going to fix this, he thought. Catching his murky reflection in the metallic hallway wall, he could see the maroon and purple gashes and bruises that mottled nearly every inch of exposed skin.
Wincing as he made his way down the hall and into his office, he prayed that he at least beat Zhongli and the receptionist to the room. He needed every available second to try and come up with some rational explanation as to why he looked half-dead.
Panicking, he quickly pulled a spare coat from a nearby closet and shrugged it on, hoping to cover as much of the damage as possible. He tugged at his pant legs to try and cover his bruised, broken ankles, and quickly summoned a small orb of hydro energy to try and scrub as much blood as he could from his face.
He barely had time to lean against his desk and feign relaxation before a very worried Zhongli was ushered through the door.
“Hi Xiangsheng-“ Childe was instantly silenced as Zhongli flung his arms around his neck. It took everything in him to not scream out in pain from the agitation to his various injuries, locking his jaw tightly and burying his face in the crook of Zhongli’s neck to hide the fact that his eyes were watering against his will.
“What’s going on?” Zhongli pulled back, gingerly resting his hand on Childe’s shoulder and absentmindedly toying with the end of his hair.
“It’s work” Childe soothed, willing his jaw to relax and forcing a weak smile “you know how it is.”
Zhongli’s eyes flickered to the top of Childe’s head,
“You’re bleeding-“
Pushing his hair off of his forehead and thumbing over his scalp, Zhongli frowned at the blood picked up by his fingertips.
“Will you please tell me what’s going on?” Zhongli begged, “You look exhausted, for some reason you’re wearing a coat in the middle of spring in Liyue, you haven’t talked to me in four days, you seem like you’re avoiding something, you’re clearly injured with no obvious cause, please- just, let me in…”
Zhongli cradled Childe’s face in his hand, his troubled expression softening as Childe leaned into his hand,
“I want to be there for you” Zhongli murmured, “even if there’s nothing I can do to help, I’m worried, please.”
Childe sighed as he hung his head forward, his temple leaning against Zhongli’s collarbone,
“Alright… I wasn’t lying when I said I’m stuck in meetings, that was at least the first day. There’s this… researcher- well, he’s really a doctor but that’s not the point-“
“A doctor?” Zhongli asked
“I think, that’s what he calls himself anyway- besides the point, he’s here for research, and… research with, me, specifically.”
“…Elaborate”
“The Tsaritsa, the other harbingers, basically everyone in her majesty’s service know about my… qualities, let’s say, from my time in The Abyss. But, beyond a surface level understanding and examples from my time in battle, nobody really knows the extent of what I can do, not even myself, to be frank, so there’s a doctor, here, on the Tsaritsa’s orders, researching my particular case. It’s happened a few times before, the past few days has been… endurance testing”
“Endurance…?”
Childe sighed, “it’d…. It’d be easier if I just showed you, I don’t want to get into the details, just… promise you wont freak out, okay?”
Slowly, Childe pulled away from Zhongli, rolling his shoulders with a small wince, he carefully shrugged off the hastily-grabbed coat, letting it pool at his feet as he unfastened his uniform top.
“…Ajax”
Childe flinched, avoiding Zhongli’s eyes,
“Really, it looks worse than it is-you and I both know I have above-average stamina, this was just… seeing how far it would go.”
“Ajax, look at me.”
Childe met Zhongli’s gaze with guilt tearing at his core, quickly morphing into genuine fear as he saw the barely restrained rage in Zhongli’s expression.
“What exactly was the goal here? I’ve seen corpses that were in better shape than you right now. Was the plan to just torture you to death? Let enough blades slice into you until you succumbed to blood loss? Beat you unconscious to see how many times you could take it before you didn’t wake up?”
“I have a duty to the Tsaritsa-“
“What would’ve happened if I hadn’t come here?”
…Childe didn’t have an honest answer to give him.
Zhongli slung one arm under Childe’s shoulder and tilted to carry most of his weight,
“We’re leaving-“
“I’m still not done with the research-“
“Drop it.”
Childe shuddered at the burning rage laced through Zhongli’s latest statement. He was quite afraid of Dottore, and even more afraid of what the Tsaritsa would do when she found out he disobeyed a direct order, but both paled in comparison to the sheer terror he felt at hearing that in Zhongli’s voice
— — —
“Qiqi, forceps, please”
“Forceps”
Childe hissed in pain as the shrapnel buried in his ribs was wiggled around and out of his flesh. Slowly, every bit of embedded weaponry was meticulously outlined and fished out of his skin. It’d been at least an hour and a half and he still wasn’t done.
That wasn’t even considering all the other categories of injury still to be addressed.
Zhongli’s hand ghosted gently over Childe’s, rubbing small circles into the iron-tight grip his knuckles had on the bed railing.
“Thank you again, Baizhu.” Zhongli said, “truly, I’m beyond words.”
“My pleasure” Baizhu replied “I must say, I’m fascinated that you’ve not only managed to not succumb to your injuries, but also still somehow stay conscious. If you wouldn’t mind, I’d be interested in researching-“
“Absolutely not” Zhongli said coldly. Seeing the surprised look from both Childe and Baizhu, he sighed
“I apologize, I mean no disrespect, that simply is not a possibility.”
“It’s no matter” Baizhu said breezily, seemingly ignoring the suppressed whine from his patient as he pulled a particularly tight suture “I’ve already made quite a few discoveries just in this work so far.”
“Lovely” Childe hissed through gritted teeth, earning a sharp frown from Zhongli.
“I should warn you” Baizhu continued, “While I have no problem respecting your privacy, I am required by oath to report this to the Qixing; the amount of damage I’ve assessed is clearly criminal assault.”
“Consider it done” Zhongli replied “I will be discussing this with the Tianquan Ningguang myself.”
“Xiangsheng-“
“This is not up for debate.”
“Can you just-“ Childe groaned as he sat up a few centimeters, earning a firm push to the shoulder from both Baizhu and Zhongli “think about this for a second?”
“It has already been decided.”
“For just a moment” Childe said, “think about the political implications of that; for one minute, honestly.”
“What part of criminal assault are you not understanding-“
“So the Qixing get involved, yeah?” Childe retorted “even if they make a private investigation, word will get out that Liyue is making a direct accusation against the Tsaritsa; at least the leaders in Mondstat will find out, if not the general public of Teyvat.”
Childe sighed, head pressed against the pillow and massaging his temple,
“Think about how anyone in the Schneznayan service is going to react to that. Both  countries have sacrificed too much- you have sacrificed too much for an active conflict to start over me fulfilling my duty-“
“-I need to step out for a moment” Baizhu interrupted, “Qiqi, please fetch three rolls of gauze from the store room.”
“Gauze.” Qiqi repeated softly as she walked around the foot of the bed and out the door, her lilac braid trailing lazily behind her. Baizhu’s footsteps echoing across the tile behind her faded into a suffocating silence.
“…My love-”
“Don’t-“ Childe interrupted, “please, don’t make this harder than it has to be.”
Zhongli inched his chair closer to the bedside, watching as Childe screwed his eyes shut, angrily swiping his knuckles across his tear-stained cheeks.
Archons, he was in so much pain.
“My love…” Zhongli carded his hand through Childe’s damp hair, “What you have gone through, is completely beyond your duty to the Tsaritsa. While your loyalty is undeniably admirable, you don’t have to do this-“
“-I owe her my life-“
“I am owed your life as well-“ Zhongli argued.
Childe blinked back in surprise, confusion written across his face.
“I made a promise to share the rest of my life with you,” Zhongli’s free hand coming to Childe’s cheek, “share, Ajax, not sit idly as you risk your life again and again-“
“-you know me” Childe interrupted, his voice tight with unshed tears, “you know who I am, you know what I am… You know how this is going to end, how I’m going to end-“
“Stop” Zhongli interrupted “I will not hear a word of this. You deserve kindness, Ajax. You deserve a chance to live a normal life-“
“Nothing about this is normal” Childe murmured, “nothing about me is normal. My entire life has been one freak string of luck and if you’re looking for normal then I’m sorry but you picked the wrong person-“
Zhongli’s gaze was drawn to Childe’s hands, knotted in the white sheets, he watched as Childe fidgeted with his engagement ring, the ring sliding further and further down his finger as his shaking hands seemingly fought with his own mind about what he was even doing.
“Shh” Zhongli reached and took Childe’s left hand, gently flattening his palm and sliding Childe’s engagement ring back to its rightful place, “Baobei, look at me.”
Childe’s cobalt eyes, glassy and rimmed red with tears, met Zhongli’s steady, tawny gaze.
“I made a promise,” Zhongli said “to you, to myself, to Celestia itself, that you are who I am going to spend this life with. You, Baobei, wholly and utterly you, not the version of yourself that never went through your hardships that lives in your own mind.”
Childe hiccuped, fresh tears tracking down his face as his grip on Zhongli’s hand tightened.
“You are resilient, my love, not damaged, or broken. You have lived through things no one deserves to endure, that others could not endure, and yet you found your way to me.”
Zhongli pressed a soft kiss to Childe’s temple, feeling his beloved tremble slightly beneath his lips as the harbinger fought to breathe between shuddering, tearful breaths.
“I’m not going anywhere” Zhongli murmured against Childe’s skin, “I promise.”
Childe cried out as he threw his arms around Zhongli’s shoulders, burying his face in Zhongli’s neck and sobbing in earnest now. Zhongli held him steady, murmuring quiet nothings in Childe’s hair and wrapping both arms around his waist.
Zhongli had made peace with the fact that he could not go back and change the past. Archon that is was, it was a gift he still did not possess. Godhood, he found, was not ultimate power.
The future, however, he had decided, was his to mold as he wished. His ego had calmed with time, shifting from the War God Morax to Rex Lapis, the God of Contracts, before finally becoming Zhongli; the closest he had ever come to one of his mortal subjects. He had little want to transform the very earth and people upon it these days as he had in his youth.
Little, but not none.
As Childe clung, trembling, to his body across the cold metal of the hospital bed, Zhongli made another vow.
The “doctor”, would pay for what he did. The Tsaritsa herself would pay for her orders, and Zhongli would see it through as he lived his chosen life:
with his beloved at his side.

Reacting and taking care of their S/O who, due to some accident, ended up shrinking in size, to the point where they can carry them with the palm of their hands.
Genshin Girls: Beidou, Noelle, Eula, Shenhe, Ganyu, Shogun Ei and Yae Miko.
(Genshin Impact) Beidou, Noelle, Eula, Shenhe, Ganyu, Ei, and Yae's S/O getting shrunk down
Tumblr media
(Beidou) "How did you...? Bah, it doesn't matter. I'll get ya fixed up in no time, S/O!"
Beidou has no idea what caused S/O to become so tiny, but she won't rest until they're back to normal!
Though truth be told, Beidou just thought that S/O being tiny was a result of her being drunk off her ass.
While she does find it cute that she can carry them in her palm, she doesn't actually do so due to how much she talks with her hands, or in general just moves them.
She's afraid she's going to crush them based on pure muscle movement.
Instead, S/O rests comfortably on the back of her coat, near her neck, at least when they're moving.
Beidou has a bird cage in her room that she bought and adorned it with soft feathers.
(S/O) "...This makes me feel like a pet."
(Beidou) "Do you wanna be on the wooden floors of the Crux instead?"
At least this was temporary. Her first order of business is to get Ningguang to help out with this problem.
Tumblr media
(Noelle) "My goodness, what happened to you?!"
Noelle is terribly confused, but she immediately sets off to find help, S/O safely in her palms all the while.
She becomes hyper aware of her grip strength and where S/O is, afraid that they would get hurt, crushed, stepped on, or all sorts of dangerous things!
Noelle goes to find Sucrose, Albedo, or Lisa, preferably all three so they could explain what happened!
She also becomes hyper defensive of anyone holding S/O, her palms shielding them as she turns her entire body away from said person.
(Noelle) "Ah, please do not touch S/O! They are in a very precarious state!"
(S/O) "Uh, Noelle? I still need to be able to see-"
(Noelle) "Please bear with me, it would give me peace of mind if you are wholly incapable of being harmed!"
(S/O) "If I were in anyone else's hands, I would've doubted that."
That comment makes Noelle beam with pride.
Tumblr media
(Eula) "When I said that my vengeance would dwarf your entire being...I did not mean it literally."
(S/O) "Yes yes, very funny Eula. Now can you put me down? You holding me with two fingers just feels like I'm a grape or something."
Honestly? Eula finds the situation hilarious. Her teasing goes up tenfold when S/O is extremely tiny like this.
If they try to give her any lip, she'll just pull the-
(Eula) "How can you make such threats when you are the size of my thumb, S/O?"
-card.
Eula will ask Amber or the Traveler for help, and while she is concerned for S/O, there is a smile on her face whenever she looked at them.
A pocket S/O was very cute to her.
(Eula) "Would you like to go to Dragonspine with me in this state, S/O?"
(S/O) "What, you planning on turning me into a popsicle?"
(Eula) "That is an excellent idea!"
Tumblr media
(Shenhe) "...You are tiny."
(S/O) "Really? I haven't noticed, Shenhe..."
Shenhe figured this is something that the Adepti can help her with.
In all her life, she had never encountered a situation as bizarre as her current predicament.
If Noelle was possessive of tiny S/O, then Shenhe is borderline yandere.
Those who seem to mean harm to her tiny significant other will be met with a violent and bloody end.
One which S/O's voice can be frantically heard coming out of her palms, begging her to stand down.
Hopefully her master, Cloud Retainer, can bring S/O back to normal.
(Shenhe) "Are you resting comfortably?"
(S/O) "I am but...resting on your chest is kind of...strange."
(Shenhe) "But you do so all the time."
(S/O) "It's one thing for me to rest my head on it, Shenhe, and an entirely different situation for me to literally sit on it!"
Tumblr media
(Ganyu) "S-S/O! Are you okay, how did this happen? Don't worry, we'll get some help right away!"
Ganyu immediately defers to Cloud Retainer for bringing S/O back to normal.
But when she's told it'd take a few days before the rite would happen, Ganyu takes S/O with her at all times.
At work, S/O is sitting at her desk while she catches up on her neverending paperwork.
S/O has a plate with flowers to sit on as they watch her work.
In some strange fashion...Ganyu quite liked this.
It allowed S/O to be with her during work so she didn't feel entirely stressed.
Though the threat of S/O being blown away or crushed gave her a whole new level of stress.
(S/O) "Careful, Ganyu. You're sweating enough that it's threatening to splash on me."
(Ganyu) "R-REALLY?!"
(S/O) "A-ah, it was just a joke! Though, I guess not anymore with how you shot straight up like that...!"
Tumblr media
(Ei) "...You did not tell me you were capable of this, S/O."
(S/O) "It's because I'm not!"
Ei decides to find out what happened to S/O herself, and leaves them in the most capable hands.
Also herself.
The Raiden Shogun stands unflinchingly on guard, meditating until Ei's return as S/O is sitting in her palm.
(S/O) "...Can I get something to eat?"
(Raiden) "Sara. Retrieve a bowl of rice at once."
(Sara) "Yes, Almighty Shogun!"
S/O awkwardly fidgets with their hands.
(S/O) "Can I move?-"
(Raiden) "No."
Meanwhile, Ei lets S/O sit on her finger like a bird, though they have a much harder time balancing themselves.
(Ei) "What a curious situation you have found yourself in."
(S/O) "Y-You don't have to stare at me that intensely, you know!"
Tumblr media
(Yae) "Oh, how adorable you have become, S/O! I could just eat you up-"
(S/O) "Try it and I'm pulling out the fur on your ears!"
Yae has to try her best not to hurt herself laughing at S/O's situation.
Now this was worth writing down!
Though, S/O clearly disagreed.
(Yae) "Come now, S/O. I wouldn't be distressed, think of all the interesting new friends you can make!"
(S/O) "Yeah, plenty of bugs and birds would like to meet and eat me, Yae."
(Yae) "Do you want to test that out?"
(S/O) "Absolutely not!"
Surprisingly, she's seen this kind of situation happen throughout her long life.
And she knows that S/O will go back to normal in a few days.
But that's all the more reason for her to enjoy the time she has!
Who knows when the next time she'll be able to laugh this hard?

this is a weird request but how would you favourite characters in any game(S) react to your death ? Just genuinely curious LOL
Ooh very interesting. I know some will react more intensely than others, while some would have that "silent but internally dying" reaction. I also believe the reactions would differ depending on the method of death. Here's what I could categorize~
HEAVY ANGST AHEAD WITH TW THEMES
Ok so I think it's obvious that Signora would have the most devastating reaction and I hate to imagine that oh god 😭😭 To have this happen a second time would surely destroy her, even worse if it's similar to the previous experience where she was too late to save her love. I think.... I think she will not want to live anymore and would kill herself 😭 Nothing matters now, there's nothing that can give her hope anymore, be it Tsaritsa or whatever she doesn't care anymore....
Another one to have a devastating reaction would be Chameleon I feel. It's the pattern of already having lost closed loved ones before, I know these people would breakdown. We already know how far Chameleon went to seek revenge for her parents' death, if you are killed by someone else then she will not hold back at all... If it's more on the line of natural causes then she'd pretend to be fine but she's clearly out of it for a long time...
Ningguang's reaction would be similar to when the Jade Chamber was destroyed. She has a position and status to maintain so she'd do her utmost to appear fine on the outside, she'd process the death so much and try to console herself until she reaches her breaking point and loudly cries in her room. She'd look over all the gifts she ever bought for you and would hold them close to her heart and cry out more, but in the end she knows she has to bounce back soon...
Lisa would be angry, surprisingly. She's another one to hide her true emotions at first, others like Jean and Kaeya may try to comfort her and she always acts her usual flirty self. I imagine when she first got the news of your death, she was so angry and hurt that purple sparks fly around her as she'd look down and hide her face with her hat. She curses herself for not being there to save you, all this knowledge and power she has becomes useless if she couldn't even save you...
Cabernet would have a very.... twisted reaction, to say the least. I know she would be sad, but for a different reason. It's the fact that she can't have your soul anymore. If she finds you in a dying state then she'd definitely take your soul and preserve it for as long as she wants, it's the biggest temptation she'd hold back. She'll only eat your preserved soul as her last meal, to have you as the last taste on her tongue and both of you die together. If she's unable to preserve your soul then she might even try to get into some resurrection stuff just to extract your soul at least....
Cocolia would have 2 different reactions. If she's affected by the Stellaron then she'd honor your sacrifice and try to achieve her goal even more, using your death as a motivator. If it's normal Supreme Guardian Cocolia then she'd be similar to Ningguang, appearing strong and balanced on the outside but breaking down in private. She'd look over your memories together and promise to fulfill all that you wanted for Belobog....
Himeko would become reserved and detached for a while. She'd continue doing her duties like normal, but it's easy to tell her mind is diverted and there's nothing much that can be done. She'd feel very lonely once again, she'd look over the stars and think of you all the time. She may lose interest in her hobbies since she got so used to doing them with you, she'd silently cry in private a lot...
Eirene would be pretty indifferent. Yes, she did love you a lot that was never a lie. But she has bigger goals, she had hoped to accomplish them with you but she will now continue on her own. She will do it for you too, she won't cry but she will promise to do everything you wanted. If you were killed by a rival of hers then she'll be merciless, she will have revenge and destroy them for sure. She will never let your death become her weakness.

i. an unexpected guest ♡
Of all the possible unexpected things that could await the Regrator in his Snezhnaya residence—one of them, at least; the amount of properties he owned was certainly more than what one could count on both hands—this was... most definitely among one of the more shocking.
       He was speechless, really.
"Please do humor me. How did you manage to get in?"
Of all the unexpected things that could await the Regrator in his his home, in his office of all places... thievery in and of itself wasn't unexpected; rather, it was the fact that standing in front of him was undoubtedly a child no older than fourteen. Not only that, but additionally the fact that they were actually standing in his office. They had not been caught. A child, no older than fourteen, possessed more skill than all of the others in the past who had made poor attempts to steal from him.
"You need better security"—they shrugged, making him somewhat annoyed at their nonchalance—"I really thought it would be hard to rob the richest man on Teyvat. It was harder to rob Lady Ningguang. I actually had to abandon that job, you know? Couldn't get to the Jade Chamber."
Again, he was left absolutely speechless.
Being compared to Ningguang made a bitter taste settle in his mouth. He made a mental note to drastically improve the quality of his security.
       "You..."
"What? It's not my fault all of your agents are incompetent."
They weren't wrong, he supposed. His agents surely could do better at their jobs. Their smugness still irritated him, though. "Do you routinely rob the wealthy?"
They scoffed. "You all are hoarding wealth that should never have been yours in the first place. Archons forbid I steal from wicked people who couldn't possibly care less about anyone but themselves... Get over yourself. Seriously."
He genuinely couldn't tell if they had no sense of danger or if they simply had that sheer amount of audacity by nature. Though, admittedly, he did have to respect the fact that they managed to sneak in completely undetected. If not for his sudden appearance, they most likely would have gotten away with it. Their audacity did irk him a little, but... that was also something he had to respect. It was impressive in its own right. No average Snezhnayan child would so much as dream of talking to a Harbinger the way they did oh-so effortlessly
It did occur to him, however, that they did not look well-off; they were not the average Snezhnayan child.
Their hair looked as if it had been haphazardly and unevenly chopped off so that it was too short to become tangled (he did recall doing such a thing himself—at the lowest point in his life, taking care of his hair was a useless endeavor, solely because it did not help better his chances of survival). They were clothed decently enough in layers adequately thick to keep themselves from freezing which, indeed, was also something he understood on a nauseously personal level.
Most of the mora he managed to earn in his unfortunate youth was invested in... not freezing to death. Through them, he was forced to once again acknowledge his past, a past he endeavored to forget about because it made him feel pathetic.
...Or maybe it made him feel like an impostor in his wealth?
What kind of sick twist of fate had the Archons cursed him with, forcing him to think about such trivial things?
He should punish them. He should arrest them. He should send them off to Dottore and never spare them another thought ever again, even, but... somehow, he didn't want to. Much as he may have acted as if he couldn't possibly know why, he did.
The brat reminded him sickeningly of himself.
"Where do you think you're going?"
They were half out of his window when he called out to them, having taken advantage of his pondering.
       "To sell what I've taken?"
He almost rolled his eyes. Almost, but didn't. That would have been immature and inelegant of him. "Come here."
They would have just left, but truthfully, it would not have been a smart move on their behalf. The only reason they had not yet been caught and apprehended was simply because no-one had spotted them in the first place. Not a single one of their 'victims' had managed to catch a glimpse of them. Now that a Harbinger had seen them...
They figured it was in their best interests to avoid being pursued by anyone with that much power, especially by someone like Pantalone. A man with that much political influence was dangerous.
"Show me what it is that you've taken."
       They did.
A letter opener, a few picture frames... Nothing significant or extremely expensive (though, to them, anything at all from his office would likely be of high value), which is what left Pantalone completely perplexed. He honestly hadn't even noticed that anything was missing from his office when he had first entered.
Perhaps that was what made them so skilled, combined with their capacity to avoid being seen.
"Out of everything you could have taken," he mused, "you chose... these inconsequential items?"
"They're inconsequential to you, maybe. To me and to my buyers, things like this are worth a ton. Whether I'll actually be given what is owed is... uh. More or less likely. I don't know, I just— can I leave yet?"
"Not so fast, dear." He smiled, tilting his head slightly. They thought he somewhat resembled a fox.
"...What? Are you seriously going to arrest me for something so little?"
"Nothing of the sort. In fact... I have a proposal of sorts for you."
ii. the proposal in question. ♡
"You know, when someone says something ominous like 'I have a proposal for you'," they began, twirling a defiant strand of their now neat hair—which the Harbinger had... shockingly, taken upon himself to cut properly rather than paying someone else to do it—around their finger, "they generally don't mean... all this."
"Don't be difficult." He pinched their cheek like a scolding (or affectionate, but the nature of his gesture was debatable, given the fact that he tended to hide his thoughts behind a skilled mask of eerie calmness that they could only imagine took years to perfect) grandparent might. "Let the tailor take your measurements."
"Ugh... fine. I don't even see why I'm doing this," they murmured, gingerly raising their arms when the tailor politely prompted them to.
"Oh? Did I not say? My apologies. I intend for you to become a permanent resident of my household."
       Silence.
       "...So you're adopting me."
"That is one way to look at it, yes."
"Oh. I was... um." They paused, blinking a few times as if in an attempt to dispel the bewilderment they felt. "I was kidding. I didn't expect that response."
       He only smiled.
They wondered if they would ever learn to understand that ambiguous smile.
iii. another unexpected guest ♡
Between teaching the newest member of his house noble etiquette, conversational skills, and other important skills they would need to master, Pantalone had grown unexpectedly fond of the little orphan he took in.
He should have been annoyed by how often they questioned his authority, by how unruly they were...
Of course, he wasn't. It was endearing and even refreshing in its own way—when was the last time anyone had dared to speak so freely and honestly and daringly to him? The respect rooted in fear that his status as a Harbinger gave him became dull after a while.
It really shouldn't have surprised him that he had become so fond of the little one who did not fear speaking in the most unfiltered way to him.
However... he did wonder if his fondness was causing him to spoil them just a little too much.
       "...What is that?"
They grinned brightly. In their arms, a small arctic fox sat contentedly, strangely unbothered by the fact that a random child decided to pick it up and bring it home. It seemed to snuggle further into them and their warmth, in fact.
       "It's an arctic fox!"
"My dear, that is a wild animal."
       "And?"
Silence. Pantalone was the first to break it:
"I have the ability to acquire any animal you so desire of only the highest pedigree," he began, "the best available on the market—of course, assuming it could survive in an extreme climate such as this one—and yet, you chose to bring home a little street fox?"
They pouted, lower lip jutting out in an exceedingly childish way that he would have chided them for had it not just been himself, them, and the various Fatui guards stationed around (who all knew far better than to say anything about whatever they saw or heard within their Lord's residence) present. "Don't be mean. I came from the street too, you know... look at her! Look at this little creature! Say hi."
If it had been anyone else demanding such childish things of him, he would be appalled... but he supposed since it was them, he could tolerate it. He leaned down slightly.
       "Hello."
Much to his apparent surprise, the fox barked back at him, to which they giggled.
       "Soo, can I keep her?"
The silence returned for a brief second. Then, the Harbinger sighed deeply—it was undoubtedly comparable to the kind of sigh an exasperated parent might let out. As if he wasn't already going grey enough without this child around...
He caved to their whims regardless.
He was encouraging a bad habit, yes, but they looked so happy with that little fox. He could only hope that, in the future, they would not bring home any other wild animals.
"Very well, but I expect you to learn how to take care of her properly, otherwise I will be forced to let her go."
iv. old habits die hard.
The first event they ever had to attend with the Regrator was an annual event hosted by the Tsaritsa herself.
Much as they weren't exactly... keen on going, Pantalone insisted—he had claimed it was for publicity's sake. The public would favor him more if he was seen as the caretaker of a child. They supposed they couldn't really argue with that, but the thought of being used as a device to build public rapport was uncomfortable at best and nauseating at worst.
(He was very adamant on reassuring them that he didn't take them in solely for such a shallow reason. Though... he still did not tell them why exactly it was that he chose to take them in, which admittedly did make them doubt the sincerity of his words.
They decided to give him the benefit of the doubt, given how kind he tended to be with them.)
They absolutely hated being surrounded by so many pompous rich people who only ever turned a blind eye to the struggling of every low-income family in Snezhnaya. How these people could live with themselves, hoarding the majority of the wealth of an entire nation, they would never know nor understand.
(What made Pantalone any different, they sometimes wondered?)
       However...
They were all viable targets, even including the other Harbingers present.
Columbina... there was nothing they could steal off of her without getting caught, and the idea of making a scene, especially one involving the third Harbinger herself, made their stomach churn anxiously. She was not an option.
Dottore... stealing off of him was unwise. They wondered if Pantalone would lose favor in them if they did. The Doctor, like the Damselette, was not an option, despite the many things they could take off his person without him ever knowing that something was missing (probably; they weren't truly sure if they'd like to test that theory).
Arlecchino... her silver hairclip was awfully pretty. Surely she wouldn't miss it? She didn't like the Regrator much anyways, so—
       "Dear."
"Oh. Um." They cleared their throat, embarrassedly looking anywhere but at him. They tried their best not to pick at the threads of their sleeves. "Sorry. Force of habit."
He hummed, gloved hand raising up to rub reassuring circles on their back. The bubbling anxiety and discomfort in their chest subsided slightly.
"Come along. There is nothing to be afraid of, and please... do not take anything off of anyone. Leave the Knave and the other Harbingers be."
Of course, upon passing Arlecchino, they did end up stealing her hairclip regardless.
Though annoyed, she said nothing of it, because even though their audacity to steal something from a Harbinger at an event such as that one agitated her beyond belief...
It seemed to make them happy, and she didn't see them take anything from anyone else the entire night. She decided that she would let it slide just this one time.
(She also took it upon herself to secure it in their hair—which had grown longer and healthier ever since the Ninth took them in—after the event, claiming that it was a gift from her...
...And that, if they knew what was good for them, they would not dare to pull another foolish stunt like that ever again.)
v. achilles heel.
"What is it that plagues your mind?"
"Huh?" They blinked, sitting up a little straighter in their place on one of the soft sofas in the Ninth's personal library. Most of their time was spent in there, absorbing all the knowledge that they didn't have access to earlier on in their life. "What do you mean?"
"You've been withdrawn lately," Pantalone said, approaching them slowly as if they were some kind of skittish animal. He tenderly caressed their cheek upon seeing no signs of discomfort. "Have I done something to drive you away?"
"...No," they admitted quietly, looking outside of the large window and watching the snow fall. It looked... peaceful, but they knew from experience what it was really like out there. They gnawed on their lower lip, searching for a way to word their concerns without sounding ungrateful. "I just... ugh, it's nothing. I don't know. I don't know how to say it without it sounding... bad."
He raised an eyebrow. His hand moved away from their face, now stroking their hair calmingly. "You speak to me so freely all the time. Why the sudden change of heart, hm?"
He did have a point there. They never once thought twice about the way they spoke to him up until that point.
A sigh left their lips, and they shifted their gaze to meet his.
The way their eyes glistened with the sheen of unshed, frustrated tears made Pantalone feel a sort of fatherly protectiveness that he wasn't sure he should have been able to feel, and yet... their expression flipped some kind of switch in him.
"Why did you take me in?"
       "I—"
"Wait, I'm not done," they interrupted. He went quiet. "What benefit do I provide to you? What kind of rich guy sees a random orphaned thief and decides to take them in? Who does that? No rich person I've met before you, that's for sure. People like you don't care about those of us barely scraping by in poor conditions, so why—"
If it were anyone else Pantalone was speaking to, his tone would have been harsh and commanding, but... that was how it always had been with them. They could get away with things that others could not. They were always shown a side of him that others were not. Perhaps that made them the Regrator's one single Achilles heel, and if that were the case? So be it.
       "Stop. Listen."
His tone came out very gently. It was more akin to a comforting hush than a demand. He kneeled down to their height—never once had they seen him voluntarily get so close to the ground. Most nobles didn't, and yet, here he was. With his ungloved knuckles, he wiped away the tears that they hadn't even noticed were beginning to fall.
"I was you once, little one."
"I don't believe you," they sniffled.
"You should. I was not born into this life. My bloodline is not noble and my birth name holds no significance," he mused, tucking a stray strand of hair behind their ear. "I also used to steal from people, you know."
Their hair fell over their shoulders, to which they quickly raised a hand to the back of their head. The clip—once belonging to Arlecchino—was gone, now settled in their caretaker's open palm.
       "H— huh?!"
"Admittedly, I haven't done so in quite some time, so what you saw just then was moreso the skills I've learned as a Harbinger than my thievery skills."
He kindly secured their hair back once again.
"Ah... I never would have guessed."
"That is the point." He nodded, going on to tease: "You do very much remind me of the younger version of myself... you have quite the awful amount of attitude, though. I was never so difficult."
They huffed, patting their face dry with their palms, to which he chuckled.
"Hmph, I doubt that. I'll bet you were worse than I am."
       "Whatever you say, dearest."
He was, but he had no plans of telling them that, of course.
vi. enrollment.
"My orphans seem to like you, [Name]."
They smiled up at Arlecchino from their place on the ground, one of the much younger children sleeping against their thigh. Their hand absently toyed with the child's hair in a manner that seemed akin to that of a loving older sibling. "I like to think they do. They're lucky, then, because I happen to quite like them, too!"
The ghost of a smile graced her lips at that.
"You know," she mused calmly, placing a firm hand on their head. They squeaked slightly at the force behind her display of affection. "You are publicly viewed as the Regrator's child."
"What?!" they gasped, a mix between shocked and embarrassed. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but... "Wait, people are saying that? Actually?"
"They are," she confirmed, "but I mention this for one very particular reason: do you know how to defend yourself, [Name]?"
"Somewhat, but not entirely," they admitted. "I learned a lot in my time... um, wandering, shall we call it..? Anyway. I can defend myself, but not really well. Not at all well enough for the place I've found myself in, I think."
She nodded in understanding at that.
"Have you considered enrolling in the House of Hearth?"
"I've thought about it. Would I even qualify, though..? I'm technically not an orphan..."
"No, but consider it a favor from me. You would get an education of equal rigor to Snezhnayan private schools, as well as learning how to protect yourself."
"...You would do that for me, Arle?"
Her cheeks tinted red at that, and she groaned, lightly pushing them away by the head. They giggled at her annoyance.
"Don't call me that"—she coughed into her fist, trying her best to mask the good-natured embarrassment such a nickname caused her—"but... I would. You need to learn how to handle yourself."
She then got on one knee, meeting their gaze with intensity that made them a bit nervous. Both her hands sat firmly on their shoulders.
"What you need to understand, however, is that you will automatically be drafted into the Fatui at your graduation. I do not believe that the Regrator would let you out of his sight at your young age, so you needn't worry about being separated from him, but... you will be exposed to wicked things."
"...But I need to do this for my safety, right?"
"You don't 'need' to do anything," she clarified. "I would advise it, though. You are an annoying little brat, but I—as well as the Ninth—would loathe to see anything happen to you."
       "Well... I don't mind enrolling."
       "Oh?"
"I really don't mind," they repeated, offering her a pensive smile. "I've already seen pretty rough things, and, I mean... I know what you all do for a living. I'm not oblivious, Arlecchino. Any kid born and raised in Snezhnaya would know."
"I didn't think so," she assured. "No, I never once believed you to be oblivious... that much, I agree with. Childhood innocence does not thrive in this nation."
       "You're right. It doesn't."
A comfortable silence settled for a moment. Arlecchino's battle-hardened hands were a calming force upon their shoulders.
"...Soo, how exactly are we planning on convincing Pantalone to let this happen?"
"Ah." She went quiet. "...That is the question."

hello! how are you? I hope everything is ok, it's me again, sorry for the inconvenience!
But I have a doubt, maybe this can even become a chapter
After the reader returns from Teyvat, all injured, having lost some fingers and teeth (from what I remember from Fitzgerald's chapter), Yosano is the only one who knew the total destruction done to the reader's body (Fitzgerald theoretically also know after having heard Pantalone and Ningguang commenting), having to take care of the reader and having her ability, well, we all know how Yosano's ability works, would she feel bad about having to use her ability on the reader to help him recover (even though it's the only way), besides, being a doctor, she has a greater understanding of things, do you think the reader's situation would make her sadder? Because she understand more about injuries, etc.?
thank you for your attention :)
Count them
Self-Aware BSD AU x SAGAU Imposter crossover
Self-Aware! Akiko Yosano x GN! Reader
Tumblr media
Description: Yosano found another reason to hate her ability.
Warning: OOC. English is my second language. Injuries.
Set during last bits of Lost and Found, during Reader being unconscious.
Short fic.
A bit of comfort at the end.
______
Yosano has a strange relationship with "Thou Shalt Not Die".
She wasn't fond of it. Yet, there is no way she will dismiss its usefulness.
The ability was powerful, but, Yosano wished, that it could be activated differently.
But, when she got her chance, she missed it. She choosed something different.
_________
Yosano looked at the screen of Ango's computer. He recently got access to game files and find a way to alter their abilities.
"So... I could either choose my ability be able to heal any decease, be it chronic, internal, or incurable by modern medicine, or have "Thou Shalt Not Die" activated without fatal injuries, but stuck with physical external injuries?"
Ango nodded.
"Yes. I am sorry, but, you can't have both."
Yosano closed her eyes and rubbed her temples.
"Can I have some time to think about it?"
Ango smiles reassuringly.
"Of course, Yosano-san"
Yosano spent whole night, reading about diseases from real world. About experience medicine, about slim chances. And about not having chances.
In the morning, she chooses being able to choose any diseases.
_______
Yosano silently leave your room. She needs one moment to herself.
To write it down.
She returned to her room and took one of her books from the shelf.
A simple atlas medical book.
It took her few minutes to find pen and pencils.
She never thought about that part of her ability. About knowing what injuries her ability have healed.
You have many. And fatal injuries.
In no way it were good news, but, at least, there was no need for Yosano to hurt you more. To use her ability.
Yosano took a pen and opened the book.
Time to write them down.
______
Burned mouth
Broken ribs
Multiple burns on legs, arms
Cut off toes
Removed canines (all four)
Ear bitten off (old injury)
Shoulders were pierced (claws? old injury)
Multiple stabs in the chest (arrow, spears)
Left eye gouged out
Nose broken (not clear, if it was an incident, or from the hit)
All nails torn off
Patches of skin removed (all body parts)
Joint dislocated (rack?)
how dare they...
_______
Yosano hid the book with the list.
She won't show it to anyone.
She won't tell anyone about it.
The anger will fuel. Her anger already burns with rage.
They don't need to know. For nor.
Right now, they should focus on you.
And not on the desire to chop off everything that monsters have.
Right now, she should return to you. And wait for you to wake up.
_______
Yosano rubbed your feet.
"All toes are here." her voice was hushed and soft.
"All toes are her." echoed you.
Yosano carefully rubbed your knees.
"Your knees aren't dislocated."
"They aren't dislocated" repeated you.
It became your daily routine.
Yosano would point at every part of you, that were injured, showing you, reminding you, that you aren't injured anymore. That you are safe. That you aren't in pain.
Yosano finished with you and left for a moment to wash her hands.
When she returns, she sat down on the bed near you.
She squeezed your hand.
"[Y/N]... You will never be hurt again. You will never be scared again."
You nodded weakly. You still were scared. But, even so, you believed in Yosano's words.
Yosano carefully pet your head.
"Let's brush your hair."
Yosano helped you sit up and took a hairbrush from the nightstand.
Carefully and gently, Yosano brushed your tangled hair. You yawned. You had another sleepless night, and brushing made you sleepy. Yosano whispered.
"You can sleep, if you want. I will be here. We will be here."
'I won't leave. You won't dissapear. No one will hurt you. There will be no need to use my ability on you. For me to count them.'
"Sleep, My Dear Dango. Don't be afraid. You are home."
You doze off. You had no dreams. Just a healthy dreamless sleep.

Ah. I didn't finish the last one, so you could discard that one. Maybe a few girls of your choosing plus Yelan with a super nice, caring, and gentle S/O that doesn't want to have sex and the reason to that is because he has a 4 inch pp. Maybe he feels insecure that when they found out they would leave him? Maybe some reassurance from the girls that they wouldn't leave him or something.
Powerful Genshin girls comforting a small S/O
A/N: I hope you like it, anon!
Characters: Yae Miko, Yelan & Ningguang
CW: Male!Reader, smutiness.
Tumblr media
Miko narrows her eyes as you speak. When you're done, she keeps still, staring you dead in the eye. Then, she blinks once. Twice.
"You can't be serious."
You look down, ashamed. But before you can apologize, Miko quickly steps towards you, aiming her finger at your chest. Her eyes glimmer pink with Electro. You instinctively raise your hands and start backing up. With every word she jabs your chest. Not nearly enough to hurt you, but painful all the same.
"You are telling me you didn't bed me because you were insecure about your dick? Is that right??"
You nod shyly. "Yes…"
"And…" She looks you square in the eye. "... you were scared that I would leave you for a dick???"
"I… yes…"
You're against the wall now. Miko growls, and pins her hands on the wall on the sides of your head.
"Oh, this is not only idiotic, but downright insulting."
You look down, blushing slightly in embarrassment. It really was stupid of you to think that. You open your mouth to apologize, but she immediately covers it with her hand.
"You've said enough. To think so low of me… Hm! Let me make something clear, Y/N." She points at your crotch. "This? The appeal of this is that it's attached to you, and not the other way around. I don't care if it's microscopic or monstrous, because as long as it is yours, I want it. Did I make myself clear?"
You nod.
"Good." She grabs your chin with her hand, forcing you to look in her eyes. "Now… I want to take you, you big idiot, for a test ride. You'll be lucky to have a single thought after what I'll do to you, my dear."
Tumblr media
Yelan smiles softly.
"Oh? Is that right?" Yelan chuckles. "That's a relief, actually. You got me thinking that you want to break up, or you don't really like me."
"Well… sorry."
Your girlfriend raises her brow and smirks. "For what exactly?"
"For being this way, I guess. For not being able to satisfy you."
“You're really quick to make assumptions, aren't you? What makes you think that?"
Yelan moves behind you, dragging her fingertips over the curve of your back."I… well, if it's small there's no fun, right?"
She laughs, and snakes her hands around your stomach. You feel her chin rest on your shoulder.
"You're so cute, you know that? And a little oblivious as well…" She caresses your chest, scratching at it lightly with her nails. "You can use much more than just your shaft, hm? How about those hands? They give the best massages I've ever experienced… You're also a great kisser with a more than agile tongue… Oh, just look at me. Daydreaming about just what mileage I can get out of your body…"
She slowly pulls her hands and face away. Before she fully retreats, she gives you a small kiss on your cheek. You turn around, blushing. “Yelan…?”
She laughs, mockingly, but there’s no bite to it.
“What? Now you want it? Oh Y/N…” She stretches out her hand towards you. “Alright, but no more of those pointless anxieties. I love you no matter what you have or don’t have. Can you do that for me?”
You take her hand.
“I will… thank you, my love.”
“No problem. Now come on, there’s no time to waste. I need some… answers.”
Tumblr media
Ningguang inhales her pipe calmly, looking at you with her signature, expecting expression. She exhales the smoke, and shakes her head.
"You men are all the same, aren't you?"
"What…?"
She sighs. "It's all a competition for you. Even the stupidest things. Like who has the biggest salary, status, cock. It's so infantile."
She raises from her seat, and approaches you slowly. Her every step echoes through the Jade Chamber. She stands before you, hands crossed over her chest.
"It's foolish because you never compare what actually matters. You never compare what's here." She places her hand on your chest, right over your beating heart. "You never compete over how big your heart is, how beautiful and colorful your soul is. Loyalty, passion, devotion… Do those not matter to you?"
You avoid her eyes, embarrassed.
"I'm sorry for bothering you, Ningguang."
"No, don't be. It's a natural concern. Does it make you feel any less of a man, perhaps?"
You don't answer right away, instead taking your time to think over her words. Before you can answer, she continues.
"A man's value doesn't lie in what he carries between his legs, my love. It lies in what he holds dear, in his values and his personality. You are caring, loving, protective and loyal. You know how to treat me right. Is that not enough proof of your validity?"
"I… suppose you're right. Thank you Ningguang."
She smiles, and sets down her spent pipe. She places her hand on your cheek, and closes in for a kiss.
"You're welcome. Any time you feel like you're not enough, come to me and I'll remind you of just how valuable you are to me. Alright?"
"Alright."
Your lips meet in a soft kiss.

series: genshin impact pairing: beidou x ningguang rating: T genre: sickfic, hurt/comfort part 1 of flowers of teyvat read on ao3
The cough is a persistent parasite, announcing its presence at the most inopportune moments like a certain boat captain. It greedily sucks out all the air from her lungs and rattles her ribs; it leaves her shaking and gasping for breath.
“It’ll pass,” is what she’d said when the coughing first began, waving a gloved hand dismissively.
“It’s been a week,” her secretary frets, documents in hand. “Lady Ningguang, perhaps you’d like to consider—”
“Lantern Rite is almost upon us,” Ningguang interrupts, shakily reaching for her mint tea and taking a few sips. The warm liquid washes down the last of the sour taste in her mouth, soothing her scratchy throat. “Lady Keqing needs our full support.” She catches sight of the dejected look on the young lady’s face and sighs, setting her teacup aside. “But… you could cancel all my unimportant meetings for the day, dear Baiwen. I will take it easy.”
Baiwen nods, taking her leave. Ningguang returns her attention to the scroll unfurled across the length of her walnut desk. It is a proposal penned by Keqing’s hand on how they can bring the Lantern Rite celebrations to Qingce Village once again this year. At least, that's what she was told when the Yuheng brought it up to the Jade Chamber. She’d been too focused on keeping the cough suppressed while Keqing gave a speech on the specifics of her plan.
It’s odd how her head feels like it’s been stuffed with silk flowers today. The words seem to dance around the parchment, passing through her wooly brain but not quite sticking, like oil meeting water. Her brow furrows; she re-reads the scroll again, but she understands so little that it might as well be written in another language.
It’s a little too hot, Ningguang thinks, and her qipao is damp with perspiration. She wipes beads of sweat off her neck, rising from the table. The world abruptly lurches forward; Ningguang digs her clawed fingers into the wood, managing to stop herself from tipping forward. Her claws aren't so lucky — they break off with a snap.
When the world rights itself again, she slowly releases her death grip on the desk, and walks over to the window. The Tianquan slides it open, instantly greeted by a gentle breeze.
It caresses her clammy skin; she shivers and slams the window shut instead.
That is not the only noise to echo in her ears. In the silence of her office, she becomes aware of foreign noises within — the careless, heavy footsteps of a certain buffoon descending the spiral stairs; the soft, high-pitched pleas of Baiwen as she haplessly follows.
Ningguang pinches her nose with a sigh, looking up just as Beidou barges into her office, her fur cloak carelessly draped over her broad shoulders. Baiwen throws up her hands in surrender and leaves. The brunette stands in the middle of the office and grins, albeit a little too mischievously.
Archons. Did she—
"Heard you're taking the afternoon off, Ningguang," the pirate booms. The Tianquan is becoming painfully aware of a dull throb beginning to build towards a crescendo at the base of her skull. "Care for a game, then?"
Ningguang bites back a sharp retort sitting at the tip of her tongue. She can never understand why Beidou's very presence both gratifies and irks her. Perhaps it's because she's flattered that the captain visits often these days, but her timing is the absolute worst. Always.
Regardless, when Beidou leaves — well, Ningguang would liken it to the warm sun giving way to the lonely night.
"And here I thought you were coming to pay your fines without a summons, Captain," the Tianquan replies, stopping shy of pouting.

𖠵𝟎𝟓: Ningguang can only hope that you keep her out of trouble and not encourage it. (Rest assured, you don’t. . . Most of the time.)
𖠵𝟎𝟔: Is fully confident that you can handle yourself, but if someone yells at or hurts you, then she’s immediately stepping in.
𖠵𝟎𝟕: She nearly crushes you in her hugs.

𖠵𝟏𝟓: Her hands are always warm—she’s always warm, so if you’re ever cold, just ask for a hug and she’ll happily oblige.
𖠵𝟏𝟔: Although her motive was never the loot, she’ll always try and bring you something back from her adventures if you couldn’t come with her.
𖠵𝟏𝟕: Shifts her coat on your shoulders whenever she senses danger nearby.
𖠵𝟏𝟖: She’s incredibly loyal to you. You do not have to worry about her leaving you for someone else; she loves only you.

𖠵𝟎𝟏: Please drag her away from her work ‹///3 The poor girl needs a break.
𖠵𝟎𝟐: She acts like your mom, and you act like hers—you guys always go on and off taking and looking after one another.
𖠵𝟎𝟑: She’s such a sweetheart omg ‹/3 Ganyu, my beloved.
𖠵𝟎𝟒: The girl doesn’t understand relationships all too much, but what she does know is that she loves you more than she could fully comprehend.
𖠵𝟎𝟓: Cloud Retainer is thankful that you take such good care of her; mom approves of your guys’ relationship !!
𖠵𝟎𝟔: Struggles to fall asleep on her own, but when she’s snuggled up to you, she finds it much easier.
𖠵𝟎𝟕: Wasn’t too familiar with the concept of affectionate nicknames until you called her one. Then she politely asked if she could call you “sunflower” and “sunshine.”
❝S-Sunflower? What-What are you doing? B-But I still have work to do! (Sighs.) Alright, alright. . . I’ll call it in for the night I-I do miss your cuddles. . .❞
𖠵𝟎𝟖: Ganyu adores your cuddles !! She’s actually quite clingy with you; your touch tends to soothe her worries.
𖠵𝟎𝟗: You have to politely decline munching on qingxins with her; instead she weaves you flower crowns out of them and brings you home bouquets of them !!
𖠵𝟏𝟎: Rest assured, if you’re stressed with work or stuck on something, your girlfriend will be at your side as soon as possible !!
𖠵𝟏𝟏: Loves getting her hair played with !!
𖠵𝟏𝟐: The best way to help her sleep is slowly rub up and down her horns.
𖠵𝟏𝟑: Arguments are very rare since she’s a peacemaker and is always soft-spoken.
𖠵𝟏𝟒: Sometimes when you notice she’s overworking yourself, you’ll either do some of the paperwork for her or go to Ningguang personally and ask if she can give her a few days off. (She normally complies.)
𖠵𝟏𝟓: Her skin is always so soft !! Holding her hand is like holding a cloud.
𖠵𝟏𝟔: She always pushes herself to get stronger so that she can protect you better.

𖠵𝟎𝟏: She’s very playful and mischievous !! Often playing little harmless pranks on you as a means to get your attention.
𖠵𝟎𝟐: Quite blunt with how she feels about you; we all know she loves to express herself freely.
𖠵𝟎𝟑: However, she’s also incredibly sweet when it comes to you !! She’s almost a completely different person when it comes to you—being normally so energetic with everyone else and being rather soft and gentle with you.
𖠵𝟎𝟒: On the days you’re not doing commissions, she’ll drag you to the parlor so that she can spend the day with you. (Given if she doesn’t have the day off herself.)
𖠵𝟎𝟓: If you have a heavy (or light) of death, she’ll try n’ help you overcome it !!
she’ll also try and cut back on talking about it so carelessly in hopes of not scaring you or making you uncomfortable.
𖠵𝟎𝟔: Calls you “(little) crystalfly,” “(my) butterfly,” and “(my) love.”
❝Why, hello there, my butterfly! What brings you to the parlor at this time of day? Wait. . . What’s with that gloomy expression? Hm. Alright, my love, I’m going to need a name and location. What’s with that look for? I’m not going to do anything rash! I’m just gonna. . . offer them a limited-time offer, that’s all!❞
𖠵𝟎𝟕: She ‘subtly’ threatens anyone who hurts you, LMFAO.
𖠵𝟎𝟖: Sometimes she’ll beg you to come and advertise with her, claiming, “well, you’re so cute, crystalfly! How can they decline when you’re around?”
𖠵𝟎𝟗: Loves to play and dance with you in the rain !!
𖠵𝟏𝟎: She can be a little clingy sometimes. She loves to hold your hand and give you side hugs.
𖠵𝟏𝟏: Butterfly kisses to the max !!
𖠵𝟏𝟐: Whenever you’re sad, she’ll tickle you relentlessly.
𖠵𝟏𝟑: Squishes and kisses your cheeks a bunch.
𖠵𝟏𝟒: Watches over your shoulder curiously whenever you’re doing something.
𖠵𝟏𝟓: You sometimes have to drag her away from getting carried away with promoting.
𖠵𝟏𝟔: She likes to take you along with her to find spirits !! If you’re starting to get nervous, she’ll wrap you in a tight hug and assure you everything’s going to be fine and that’ll she protect you no matter.
𖠵𝟏𝟕: Loves to brag and boast about you whenever she can. (Especially to Zhongli and Xiao.)
𖠵𝟏𝟖: Despite being all too familiar with death and passing, she’s terrified that she’s going to lose you to it earlier than she’d like; she won’t ever tell you that, though. (She doesn’t want to worry you!)
𖠵𝟏𝟗: Days off are either spent in each other’s arms or on a picnic date up on the cliffs, watching the sunset when it comes that time of day.
Tumblr media
꒱₊˚ 𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐆𝐔𝐀𝐍𝐆 !! 𝐄𝐂𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑
Tumblr media
𖠵𝟎𝟏: She’s a lot more flirty than you might think.
𖠵𝟎𝟐: As her s/o, you have special privileges to the Jade Chamber.
𖠵𝟎𝟑: She spoils the fuck out of you; you only receive the most highest quality of gifts.
𖠵𝟎𝟒: Initially, you two kept your relationship hidden from the public eye, but then someone started prying and spreading rumors.
of course, she didn’t mind telling people she’s in a relationship with you; she just didn’t want people to pressure you into answering any of their absurd and disrespectful questions and/or comments.
𖠵𝟎𝟓: She’s naturally busy with meetings, making it hard to schedule time with you alone. As a means to it, if you're ever free when she's not, she’ll ask you if you'd like to tag along.
𖠵𝟎𝟔: She likes to turn to you and see your point of view; she greatly values your opinion on the things she discusses with you.
𖠵𝟎𝟕: “(My) jewel,” “(my) dear,” and “sweetheart.”
❝Welcome home, my jewel. Hm, you look so exhausted. . . You haven’t been overexerting yourself, have you? Go take a hot shower, and I’ll brew you a cup of tea, alright? I’m free these next two days how about we spend some quality time together, hm? It's been a while since I’ve properly taken you on a date. . .❞
𖠵𝟎𝟖: Whenever she meets with Beidou, it’s always accompanied by her teasing and asking questions about you.
𖠵𝟎𝟗: She once told you, “out of every antique and piece of gold in this chamber, you, my dear, are the most prized and cherished.”
she doesn’t say such things very often because she doesn’t want them to sound excessive to the point where they’ve lost their meaning.
𖠵𝟏𝟎: Like Zhongli, she already has an engagement ring made out of the most finest quality cor lapis stored safely somewhere in the Jade Chamber.
𖠵𝟏𝟏: Despite all the compliments she gets, she always remains loyal to you and politely tells them that she’s with you.
𖠵𝟏𝟐: Knowing your Ningguang’s lover, people usually avoid messing with you.
𖠵𝟏𝟑: Her touches are always so warm and filled with love. Things such as slowly running her hands up and down your arms, her fingers gradually combing through your hair, and humming you to sleep when you’re stressed.
𖠵𝟏𝟒: Loves to color coordinate your guys’ outfits !! She thinks it’s a cute, subtle way of showing people that you’re together.
𖠵𝟏𝟓: She can be a little protective over you sometimes.
Tumblr media
꒱₊˚ 𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐇𝐄 !! 𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄
Tumblr media
𖠵𝟎𝟏: She was very confused about what romantic relationships were and what they entailed; “I thought you were supposed to feel such strong feelings towards your friends. . .” Not if you have the overwhelming desire to hold them, Shenhe.
𖠵𝟎𝟐: She went to Cloud Retainer for some help, the adeptus didn’t know much, but she did confirm what Shenhe felt was love.
𖠵𝟎𝟑: She’s new to a lot of this, so you’re going to have to be patient with her ‹//3 She loves learning, though !!
𖠵𝟎𝟒: Quite protective over you; she fears that something out of her control will hurt you one day. And for that, she wouldn’t be able to forgive herself.
𖠵𝟎𝟓: Reads a lot of books regarding romantic relationships.
𖠵𝟎𝟔: Likes to follow along with you on your adventures and commissions.
𖠵𝟎𝟕: Was very confused when she heard someone call their significant other “love” and asked you, “who would name their creation that?” So you had to explain to her that it wasn’t their actual name and rather a term of endearment.
and after reading more about it, she started calling you “xiào niâo” which means “little bird” and “(little) love.”
❝You know, xiào niâo. . . After being in a relationship with you for quite some time now and knowing what cheating refers to, I can’t seem to comprehend why someone would do such an awful thing to their partner. . . They’re dedicating their love and time to them, are they not? So why betray their kindness and commit your love to someone completely different?❞
𖠵𝟎𝟖: Mhm, after you explained to her what cheating was, she was heartbroken because she couldn’t even imagine hurting you like that after you set aside so much of your love and time for her.
𖠵𝟎𝟗: Even though she doesn’t care much of the rumors spread of her, you’re always quick to shut them down and in some cases, shut the said person up.
𖠵𝟏𝟎: (↑) However, regarding any rumors of you or of how she treats you, she won’t hesitate to bring them to a stop.
𖠵𝟏𝟏: Isn’t very open with her emotions and how to show them, so most of the time you’ll have to directly ask her how she’s feeling.
𖠵𝟏𝟐: Definitely a caretaker type; she likes to take care of you if you’re ever feeling unwell—severe or not.
𖠵𝟏𝟑: After feeling and knowing affection, she’s become a lot more accustomed to your touch, often leaning into your arms when she comes back home.
𖠵𝟏𝟒: Will 100% show her love for you in public. She isn’t too familiar with the term PDA but why wouldn’t she want to show the world that she loves you ??
𖠵𝟏𝟓: You are the greatest and noblest thing that’s happened to her.
𖠵𝟏𝟔: Without a doubt, your bodyguard. She’s rather protective over you, both from outside forces and inside. You are very precious to her and she will not have you getting hurt.
𖠵𝟏𝟕: She’ll take new things she sees outside, and try them out with you.
𖠵𝟏𝟖: Cannot sleep without you after the first time. She’ll always look at you with pleading eyes if you’re not immediately coming to bed with her.
𖠵𝟏𝟗: Loves to kiss the backs of your hands and your palms !!
𖠵𝟐𝟎: You both always like to stop in and see Yunjin’s performances !!
Tumblr media
꒱₊˚ 𝐘𝐀𝐍𝐅𝐄𝐈 !! 𝐖𝐈𝐒𝐄 𝐈𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄
Tumblr media
𖠵𝟎𝟏: She’s by far one of the best people you can go to for advice !! Whether that be legal advice or not.
𖠵𝟎𝟐: She actually initially thought that a romantic relationship would get in the way of her work, but after growing closer to you, that idea quickly diminished.
Yelan also protested against it, saying, “if you do really like them in that way, then go for it. love waits for no one.”
𖠵𝟎𝟑: Gives you the best legal advice, hoping to keep you out of trouble, LMFAO.
𖠵𝟎𝟒: Also quite new to the concept of relationships, not knowing what exactly they entail and what she should do.
𖠵𝟎𝟓: Petty arguments are always peacefully resolved as she hates them more than anything, LMFAO.
𖠵𝟎𝟔: She notices when something’s off with you almost immediately; it’s hard to hide stuff like that from her.
𖠵𝟎𝟕: “Belladonna,” “(my) dear,” and “(my) love.”
❝Welcome home, belladonna! How were your commissions today? You didn’t run into any problems, did you? Make sure you always let me know if someone or something bothers you I want to do all that I can to make sure you live a comfortable life. . .❞
𖠵𝟎𝟖: Yelan likes to playfully pester her about you.
𖠵𝟎𝟗: She loves to fall into your arms after a long day of work.
𖠵𝟏𝟎: Sometimes you like to bring snacks and drinks to the law firm to make sure she’s taking care of herself and not drowning herself in work.
𖠵𝟏𝟏: She’s very analytical, so she thinks over each decision before deciding on one.
𖠵𝟏𝟐: Will not have anyone putting a bad name to yours; she knows how kind-hearted you are and can’t fathom how anyone doesn’t see that.
𖠵𝟏𝟑: If she’s ever stuck on a case, she’ll turn to you for advice, whether you have intel or not; she loves to see your view of things.
𖠵𝟏𝟒: Melts into your touch whenever you card your fingers through her hair or rub her antlers.
𖠵𝟏𝟓: Mindlessly plays with your fingers and hands sometimes, it grounds her from all the petty cases that she has to deal with.
𖠵𝟏𝟔: Memorizes just about everything you say, what you do, your likes, your dislikes. . .
𖠵𝟏𝟕: She can be a little awkward about receiving and imitating affection, but she’ll warm up (:
𖠵𝟏𝟖: If she feels overwhelmed with work, she’ll invite you over and ask you to ramble on about your interest—your voice often bringing a sense of peace and comfort.
𖠵𝟏𝟗: A really good caretaker !! Especially if you’re sick or injured.
𖠵𝟐𝟎: Really cherishes small and intimate moments between you two.
Tumblr media
꒱₊˚ 𝐘𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐍 !! 𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐘 𝐎𝐑𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐃
Tumblr media
𖠵𝟎𝟏: Another one who’s surprisingly flirty. . . She loves to make you tick.
𖠵𝟎𝟐: She keeps your guys’ relationship hidden from the public eye, not wanting to put a target on your back because of being affiliated with her.
the only one who really knows of your relationship is Yanfei since she knows and trusts her well.
𖠵𝟎𝟑: A protective mom when it comes to you. She wants nothing but for you to be safe and unharmed.
𖠵𝟎𝟒: If you’re out in public and she notices you’re getting apprehensive, she’ll slyly grab your hand and tap her fingers three times against your inner wrist, her code for “I love you” in public.
𖠵𝟎𝟓: If you ever get cold while you’re out, she’ll sling her jacket over you, hoping that it’ll help at least a little.
𖠵𝟎𝟔: When she senses danger, she’ll put her jacket over your shoulders and step in front of you protectively, her main goal being to keep you safe and unharmed.
𖠵𝟎𝟕: You ask her to hum you to sleep, she doesn’t understand why but she normally doesn’t argue, as long as you go to bed happy.
𖠵𝟎𝟖: “Darling,” “sweetheart,” and “(my) blossom.”
❝Hm? Why’re you all dolled up, blossom? Going somewhere important? Oh? A business meeting, you say? Why don’t I come along with you, hm? I dare say that I can strike a good bargain, if needed, of course. . . What? Of course, it’s not just so that I can keep an eye on the guys there. Okay, maybe a little. But can you blame them, darling? You’re awfully striking, you know. . . I’m so incredibly lucky to have you as my partner.❞
𖠵𝟎𝟗: If you happened to be with her in the Chasm, she would make it a priority to take care of you, also glaring at Itto whenever he seemed to get a little too friendly with you.
𖠵𝟏𝟎: To make up for her busy schedule, she always brings you food and little trinkets home to show that she’s thinking of you.
𖠵𝟏𝟏: If she hears that someone’s bothering you, she’ll have them dealt with in about. . . 2-3 days.
𖠵𝟏𝟐: Can cook some good ass food !! Yelan is hella wife material even if she protests she’s not. (Which she does.)
𖠵𝟏𝟑: When you’re not looking, she’ll stare at you with smitten eyes; she loves to admire your beauty.
𖠵𝟏𝟒: Another one who’s an excellent listener and gives great advice; she’ll always lend you her shoulder to cry on.
𖠵𝟏𝟓: She either takes you on really expensive dates or really simple, cute/romantic ones. Her main goal is for you to enjoy yourself (:
Tumblr media
꒱₊˚ 𝐘𝐔𝐍 𝐉𝐈𝐍 !! 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐄 𝐋𝐔𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐀
Tumblr media
𖠵𝟎𝟏: 100% gushed to Xinyan and Xiangling when she started crushing on you; the two have never seen their friend so starstruck by someone.
even now, when you two are actually dating, she still squeals to them about how much she loves you and how you make her so much happier than she could ever imagine.
𖠵𝟎𝟐: You’re a new wave of inspiration for her, bringing forth new ideas to her mind whether you know it or not.
𖠵𝟎𝟑: She loves to do your makeup !! She thinks the style magnifies your beauty by x10,000.
𖠵𝟎𝟒: Had a long discussion with her manager (that I forgot the name of ‹//3) about how she should be paying more attention to her performances rather than relationships. Yunjin had never felt more offended in her life.
𖠵𝟎𝟓: She had no problem whatsoever telling her fans that she’s in a relationship with you—happily telling them you’re her star in the night sky and the sun in the morning sky.
𖠵𝟎𝟔: Teaches you how to act—giggling whenever you’re being purposefully overdramatic.
𖠵𝟎𝟕: This girl loves you so so much.
𖠵𝟎𝟖: “(My) starlight,” “my muse,” and “(my) darling.”
❝S—Starlight? What’re you doing here? I-I thought you said couldn’t come to today's performance. . . O-Oh, you-you wanted to surprise me? Oh, (NAME). Thank you so much! I really love you, you know that? H-How about I treat you to lunch, hm? It’s the least I can do, really. . .❞
𖠵𝟎𝟗: Really cherishes the time she has alone with you, given she’s normally busy with practicing and performing.
𖠵𝟏𝟎: At the end of the night, she likes to rest her head on your lap and tell you all about her day.
𖠵𝟏𝟏: Loves to dress you up in her clothes !!
𖠵𝟏𝟐: She also loves to buy you things !! One of her love languages is definitely gift giving (:
𖠵𝟏𝟑: Whenever you’re watching her perform, she’ll always find a way to lock eyes with you and give you a small wink.
𖠵𝟏𝟒: Really wants you to perform with her one day !!
𖠵𝟏𝟓: Teaches you all different kinds of dances !! Dancing with you is one of her favorite past times.
𖠵𝟏𝟔: If she ever feels discouraged, she’ll always think of you and get back on her feet.
𖠵𝟏𝟕: Speaks of you so highly to both her friends and fans.
𖠵𝟏𝟖: Makes you the most finest quality of jewelry.

i wanna share the genshin impact ships i enjoy and why (mostly rarepairs)
Rosaria/Kaeya - undeniable trust and friendship turned romantic interest. though capable of forming a relationship, their occupation and circumstances prevent them from fully pursuing it. Even if all factors could ignite mutual interest, the fear of ruining the friendship they harbored would stand in the way. What's important in a lonesome city is the same stranger who is looking for the same comfort you seek. Frequent liar or not, he's quite the personality to have around.
Jean/Diluc - everyone says they are exes turned lovers however I view them as the failed chance at love. They are friends who knew each other since they were learning to walk type of friendship. The first love you never forget. If they were given the chance, they could say what they want to the other. "You look even better after you became a stranger to me, pretty woman"
Yelan/Ningguang - The what could've beens. similar to jealuc but in ninglan it's focus is more on the one-sided, unrequited type of love. (using Beiguang for this example) watching the one you love fall for someone you know she deserves hurts. It hurts because you know you could've been with her if not for your own issues. thankfully she will never know you love her since that love will die with you
Rosaria/Jean - oh god where do i begin with this. The "outcast" meets the city's beloved individual. For someone who feels they never belong, its confusing to have the city's hope make excuses to see you. Rosaria and Jean's relationship begins with jealousy due to the nun and the idol deaconess' relationship. What makes Barbara look at Rosaria the way Jean always wanted? Filled with concern and trust that only families have for one another. Giving that to a complete stranger is agonizing.
Lisa/Jean - coworkers to lovers <3. A workaholic learning the simplicities of life from the reliable, easygoing, gentle person. When she'd forget to take care of herself mentally, she'd be there. Unknowingly providing comfort with just her presence alone.
Beidou/Ningguang - Two people who rule and have a significant influence on the community. Bickering and arguing over the smallest things yet loving each other for the same reason. What makes these two so wonderful is the fact that they both witnessed each other overcome difficulties in their own manner. They both achieved goals that brought them together in some way. Competing with which one would make the other prouder.
Venti/Zhongli - centuries have gone and past, and yet home always had the same eyes and breeze. When it comes to gods, the only one they could consider as equal are the same immortals who suffer with them. Why does meeting each other again bring so much comfort and pain? How many friends did they watch come and go like sand through the wind? Thankfully, they can overcome these uncertainties together. Until they could no longer control the corrosion within them.
Surcrose/Rosaria - When your curiosity leads to people questioning your character, the person you gravitate towards is someone similar. Sucrose would have a lot on her mind and would desperately need someone to talk to. Rosaria always wanted to learn more about the world but never had the guts to say it out loud. The mutual silence between them could be a conversation. "I have something on my mind, but I have difficulties saying it" and "Take your time. No rush."
Kaeya/Albedo - Understanding your past from the product of the past can be an interesting combo. Kaeya and Albedo are two perspectives of the Khaenri’ahn existence. The truth is never black or white, in fact, the truth is always relative. Messing around with your coworker because of mutual origins grives a sense of comfort in the city where everyone knows everyone.
Ganyu/Keqing - coworker who has false impressions towards each other. A tender and careful love formed from the desire to protect their city. Patience is a virtue especially for Ganyu. However, with all the years she had lived, days with Keqing always felt like love personafied.
Xiao/Traveler - what cannot be may be. One's duties always hinder relationships, but there will always be someone stubborn enough to reach out. Someone once said that unnecessary suffering is not a proof of strength. Relying on others is difficult but if it's with the person they love, one could only hope that they're not a burden. Thankfully, they don't give a damn about your stubbornness and go out of their way to talk and spend time with you. Since you know that these times wouldn't last.
Ayaka/Yoimiya - The different lives we live shouldn't turn us into strangers. In a life where expectations are laid upon you, finding freedom and happiness incarnate is like grasping sunlight. Ayaka knows she has her duties but spending time with Yoimiya makes her forget the time. Grief and loss often isolate us from relationships (including socioeconomic circumstances). Thankfully the eternal shogun's antithesis stays by your side.
Itto/Sara - Our beliefs do not align, but if someone talks shit about the other. Someone will be getting punched or electrocuted. Being a Yokai in human society always leads to discrimination unless you are equipped with power and unimaginable influence. Seeing each other's most vulnerable sides in the most unexpected times always led to curiosity. Curiosity leading to interest. And interest leading to fondness.
Al Haitham/Kaveh - Unconventional ways of saying "i love you" almost always lead to someone's wrinkly forhead. If turning himself into Kaveh's personal screaming outlet would let him relax, Al haitham would gladly do it. What happened in the past has long gone, and what's left is to continue. Is it so difficult to let him love you?
Candace/Dehya - Every neighborhood child's first loves daring each other. Duty is always the priority. Traveling the world will come one day but not today. If that is someone's belief, then someone will bring the world to them. Even if it's small material gifts, its treasured dearly. Just make sure not to come home bruised and covered in wounds. Else a medicated scolding (and some kisses) would be perscribed by the village's resident guardian.
and that's all folks tell me what you think.
