kandreil + "are you ticklish?"

i have never written kandriel before,  this will not go well im sorry, but tysm for the prompt sol!

64. “are you ticklish?”

Aaron glanced back at his twin fumbling through the corridor, wondering where he had been in the early hours of the morning, but understood when he saw him distracted by the pots he was balancing on his arms as he rummaged through his wallet. He turned back and kept walking towards his room, grinning a little when he heard whatever Andrew was carrying hit the door as he leant forward to push the handle.

The sound of gunfire fell short as Andrew walked in; Kevin threw his controller down by his feet and pushed himself upright on his bean bag. Neil reached up as Andrew walked towards him, holding out two different flavours of ice cream.

“Chocolate,” Neil responded, letting his controller hang as it balanced on his fingertips. Andrew leaned away and turned towards Kevin, when his breathing hitched and he stood straight. Neil thought he heard a pitched squeak come from his direction, but Andrew Minyard did not squeak.

Neil looked over at Kevin in question, whose eyebrows were furrowed together. Kevin’s lips parted slightly, gaping, before he said, “Are you ticklish?” Andrew glared at him, his eyes narrowing, but otherwise didn’t move. “I had no idea,” Kevin exclaimed in disbelief. “You told me you weren’t.” 

“Mostly not,” Andrew replied, taking a cautious step away from Kevin as he said it. Just far enough that if Kevin extended his arm out, Andrew was out of reach.

“Is it only your feet? Oh, it is,” Kevin’s face lit up. Andrew shook his head, looked Kevin dead in the eye, and placed his ice cream on the table, just slightly further than Kevin’s arm length, before pushing Neil into the middle of the two beanbags, and taking a seat on the end.

“I can’t believe you’re ticklish,” Kevin whispered under his breath. Neil suspected this was how Andrew or Kevin felt when he spoke German or French with the other.

“What does ticklish mean?” Neil asked blankly. Both Andrew and Kevin’s eyes snapped towards him. Andrew’s face had softened, laced with pity, and after a stuttered moment Kevin replied. 

“I can show you?” His grin lit up his features, and a soft ‘oh my god’ came from Andrew. Neil looked up at him, but Andrew’s face had quickly returned to neutral.

“Um, sure.” Upon those words Andrew lifted the weight of his frame from Neil’s shoulder. Kevin reached out towards Neil, who, within an instant, lit out a high pitched scream, and scrambled back into Andrew’s side. Kevin glanced behind him, half expecting Aaron to knock on the wall from his room, before remembering it was empty. Kevin turned back to Neil, who was stood up and attempting to push Andrew into the middle seat, who slowly approached Kevin, glaring at his hands. He lowered himself between Kevin and Neil.

“What the hell?” Neil cried out. Kevin just began laughing, half-cackling; Andrew was grinning beside him. Neil, scowling, leant into his arm chair, pulling his now melted ice cream to his chest, and glaring at Kevin behind Andrew’s back. Kevin grinned, before getting up for his own. On his way back he inched his foot towards Neil. Andrew pulled his own legs up and crossed them, and Neil turned his body, his back leaning against Andrew’s shoulders, protecting himself from Kevin. Sitting himself down, Kevin clapped a hand down, breezing past Andrew’s legs, and clapped his thigh, grinning at the other two. Without a second’s wait Andrew collected his ice cream and spoon and stood up, letting the discarded lid flutter onto Kevin, and walked into his room, slamming the door behind him.
