My Quick Thoughts on the Newest Nightmare Critter....

The fact the Poe, the RAVEN, isn't dark academia themed and that the references to the poem aren't more ham is killing me. Out of all of Edgar Allen Poe's works, this one is pretty close to the possible themes of Poppy Playtime.

Literally, the second stanza of the poem is as follows

Like, let me have this crow be dark and broody, but in a Victorian Horror Hero way, and reciting all the old school Victorian era and Gothic literature and nobody getting it except maybe Baba and Allister and leaving those two to play translate with various success (Allister using as few words as possible to explain or just giving his thoughts, Baba being slightly better at explaining but just done with everyone)

i.e.

Poe: Get thee back into the tempest and the Night’s Plutonian shore! Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken! Leave my loneliness unbroken!—quit the bust above my door!

[Smiling Critters stare in absolute confusion]

Baba: They would like you twerps to leave.

Allister: Ditto

I mean I suppose them being a raven is just cause everybody else in the "Nightmare Critters" are supposed to be the spooky/not your average critters to make into marketable plushies, but I feel like we're almost so close to something really cool and yet defeat has been snatched from the jaws of victory.

Also, their scent being cinnamon and not sandalwood, incense, or like the scent of an old library is such a copout. Like everybody's scent choices make me go "huh?" to some extent but this one has me scratching my head much more than the others.

- Their human name is Eddie

- They're 14 years old

- Also kinda has anger issues but they're less loud

- Like to time how long Simon takes to ragequit

- Likes poetry

- Thinks their dad (Killy Willy) is the coolest monster but won't admit out loud

- Wears a headset everywhere

- Wears make up

- Their best friend is Peppermint

- No ship
