Food is scarce, humanitarian aid is not reaching us, and my little nieces and nephews go to bed hungry. Among them is my sister, who is deaf, and another sister who has a newborn baby. They, too, are suffering in this crisis, and I’m doing everything I can to protect and provide for them.

...Okay new RitualCandles hc:

Simon bought Super Mario 3D World and wanted to play w/ someone cuz he thought solo playthroughs are rather boring (which, kinda true). So, he invited Poe over; 1st level and chaos already ensued.

Simon's busy jamming out to Super Bell Hill, all while Poe just wants to play the level (even though the game legit is featuring sunlight-)

Sometime later, they finally managed to get past W1-1, but it kinda gets worse from there; Simon wants to do the infinite lives trick, but Poe just wants to progress, get the stars + stamp, and carry on w/ the game (However, they were rather surprised/impressed with how Simon was able to keep up with the inputs of having to do the infinite lives trick)

Oh? I forgot something?

OHHHHHH,, Silly me....

Did I forget to mention how Competitive (yes, with a capital c) those two got when they both found out about the crown mechanic in the game?

For the first level, Poe won the crown (no questions there) and Simon's eyes WIDENED the moment he saw a crown + 1st place next to Poe's character and bro became DETERMINED to get that crown from his partner, no matter what it took.

Poe, surprisingly, was not gonna back down against their bf the moment they realized that there's actual competition in the game. The moment Poe saw that crown, they immediately knew what was running through Simon's mind.

And oh boy, for nearly half the game, there were just shenanigans left and right; Simon trying to throw Poe off the stage, so he has more points, Poe ground-pounding so that the crown falls off Simon's head (+ vice versa), and just basically competitive shenanigans between the two.

But tbh, Simon and Poe just like doing the competitive bit in Mario 3D World for the hell of it + they have a LOT of fun w/ it,, They both know it's just lighthearted competition mechanic to add more spice to the game, but that doesn't mean they'll back away from the mechanic so easily,, Both Simon and Poe know that they just like to mess with one another when committing to the competitive bit of the game

(+ They both know when they gotta lock tf in and be the power couple that the other critters call them as :3c)

Oki, hear me out on this AMV idea I legit got in my mind,,,

This song, but GoldenThunder,,

I kinda got this idea bc of @smilingcrittersthingig's opinion on GoldenThunder where they give off power couple vibes,, (sorry for the tag,, ;w;)

Okay, here's my idea:

The AMV would start w/ Poe flying through a cloudy atmosphere contemplating whatever for the first few seconds and suddenly an upside down windbag appears in front of them as a voice tells them "All you have to do is not open this bag~", which stops Poe in their tracks as they recognize that voice and look up to see a familiar, upside-down red dragon flying above them.

"Simon?"

"Heya, sweetie~" (He likes calling Poe pet names, even tho they aren't dating...yet.)

Poe, who is rather surprised, asks Simon why he's here and Simon, who is now right-side up, tells them it's Poe's one last chance to make it home if they're able to 'dance' with fate and then Poe retorts due to them knowing that Simon can be rather mischievous and that whatever he has up his sleeve won't be easy.

(Here comes the fun part)

Simon then tells Poe that their journey will definitely be dangerous, but he encourages them by saying they have to take certain risks to get their way; putting it all on the line. (and throughout the verse, he's kinda having fun flying around Poe, doing spirals n stuff, but also sometimes getting in close proximity within Poe, kinda catching them off guard + kinda flustering them, to try and encourage them to listen to Simon's words)

Poe, intrigued, agrees to work with what Simon's putting down for them and asks what they should do. Simon obliges in telling them what they have to do, along with exaggerating his motions (i.e. putting his arm around Poe's shoulder to gester towards the North Star and softly booping their beak afterwards, with a dumbass smirk might I add) and then repeating how the journey's gonna be dangerous n stuff.

And back to the windbag, Simon's playful, mischievous expression then becomes slightly more stoic and warning as he lets Poe know that they NEED to keep the bag closed to make it home, otherwise they'll never make it home.

However, Poe feeling encouraged by Simon, is up to the challenge and that they're willing to be dangerous for this mission of theirs. Simon would become rather surprised by this sudden change in mood, but he'd feel proud he was able to encourage them for the better. And then he'd have an admiring expression towards them saying "That's my Poe~"

And as Simon feels he has accomplished his task of supporting Poe and encouraging them to make it home, he starts to fly away for Poe to continue their journey home. That is, until...

"Simon!"

Simon stops and turns back to look at Poe, flying up to him.

*chu!*

...Did they just kiss him on the cheek?

"...Thank you."

Simon, completely caught off guard + flustered by the sudden action, processes for a moment tf just happened, but tries to shake it off for a second and he explains to Poe that they shouldn't thank him as someone else had fought for them. (up to you ig)

"Then who?"

"Heheh..."

*return chu!*

Aaaand he just gave them a kiss on the cheek too.

"Good luck~"

Simon then flies away with one last wink towards Poe + AMV ends.

Aaaaand that's my idea!

Btw, a TLDR for those who don't like reading words:

The whole AMV would be Simon encouraging Poe to take a stand towards whatever danger may come at them and to keep going no matter what struggle happens
