What will happen when a gal from St. Louis and a guy from Philly move to Florida? I'm not sure, but excited to find out.

Mike and I aren't seeing eye to eye on the mish-mash we have going on in our family room (as in he thinks it's fine and I want grown-up furniture) So today I spent the morning with my sales-gal at Haverty's furniture. I started out all in the mood for red, but then came home and saw this blue Ikat chair. Now I'm just confused.

Florida Logic
I have driven through Daytona Beach 5 times in the past 5 weeks. Each time I've gotten stuck in major isolated hurricane-ish thunderstorms along 1-95.
Therefore I can only assume it rains every day in Daytona Beach.

We're trying to eat at a different local place each Friday night. Tonight's random selection was Pizza Palace- which was pretty awesome. Mike and I shared a Boss Pizza which had sliced tomatoes and feta. Lilly had plain cheese....big surprise.

Trend #4 - what's up with all the golf carts in my neighborhood? I do not live on or a near a golf course or country club. In fact the nearest golf course is 7 miles away...
Case in point- last night while walking the dog, a golf cart came buzzing past me. Random dad was driving with an infant sitting on his lap and a toddler sitting shotgun. It appeared that they were also listening to Van Halen.

Trend #3 of Jacksonville: Cut off sleeve tank tops. Guys...seriously - stop it. And to the guy at Hess buying gas today - for real - put a shirt on.
In other news I have assembled 2 teal bookcases and a 3 piece patio bistro set. All from Target - because that's how I roll.

I've noticed 2 trends in Jacksonville my first week.
1. Men don't wear shirts while working and/or doing any activity outside. This is generally a bad thing and I immediately wish I had the powers to un-see.
2. Pickup trucks. Covered in mud or spotlessly clean. They usually have a "Salt Life" window decal.

Let's recap today. Spent the night at grandmoms. Left around 8:45am. Drive towards Washington DC. Got phone call that train was delayed. Took a break in Maryland. Ate lunch at the busiest McDonald's. Arrived at the auto train at 1pm. Was told we are 3 1/2 hours delayed. Left and went to Potomac Mills Mall. Went back to Amtrak at 3pm. Waited. Waited. Waited. Was provided snacks and water. Boarded the train at 8pm. Now waiting as they load all the cars.

It took 5 hours to load the moving truck today. A few things are left scattered about- a backpack, vacuum, alarm clock, shoes, aerobed.
