i am a nick danforth-evans defender for LIFE. that boy did NOTHING wrong.

he just liked a girl and tried to hang out with her and ask her out, but when it became clear she liked someone else he quickly dropped it and respected her feelings. he showed up to all of her performances, hyped her up, and then went to her house to congratulate her after her big breakthrough performance, then got possessed by an evil ghost just for BEING THERE. he deserved SO MUCH BETTER

i feel so bad for nick anytime i watch any scene he's in, like you're a star lacrosse player and jazz guitarist dating the popular girl but she's kinda mean to the girl who's mom died last year and just got back into music again (and her band is poppin, by the way, they're definitely gonna blow up and you make sure not to miss a show) and you keep running into this girl and you kinda start liking her and your girlfriend just keeps getting meaner, so you break up with her, and even though you've gotten back together every other time, you swear you won't this time, because you're gonna ask out the girl you have a crush on, who also absolutely killed your dance performance, and you're pretty sure she'll say yes because she's always acted awkward around you so she probably has a crush too (even though she looked kind of close with her bandmate at her garage show but hey, you miss a hundred percent of the shots you don't take), but then she says she has feelings for someone else and you missed your chance so now you have to make the awkward exit, and that kinda sucked but you still like her band so there's no way you're not gonna go see her open for panic at the disco at the orpheum, like holy shit! and the next day you want to apologize and make sure things are alright between you so you bring her flowers but before you actually talk to her you get possessed by an evil sparkly ghost in steampunk goggles. and there is no resolution to this situation. ok

Thinking of Nick hanging out at Carrie's and wondering what do Nick and Carrie even have to talk about? Like, they seem so incompatible and just weird together. They're also an on-and-off situation which gets pretty toxic pretty fast. Also, how many times has Nick said they're not getting back together that Carrie doesn't even believe him anymore?

Good, you’re listening, Caleb thought smugly. Pay attention, Nicholas. This is important.

Nick blinked, nodding his head in acknowledgement even if it wasn’t necessary. Caleb had heard it as soon as the thought had appeared, he heard everything. But Caleb didn’t tolerate rudeness. Just because he could hear every thought as they were formed didn’t mean Nick was allowed to slack on the niceties. Manners were what separated people from animals and Nick may be a largely useless tool but he wasn’t an animal, there were rules to follow.

I’m afraid our time has come to an end, Caleb interrupted. You’ve been a subpar host at best but a host nonetheless and it is considered rude to slip out the door without so much as a farewell. So goodbye Nicholas, do try to be less of a failure in the future.

“You’ve seen the wall outside right? The—graffiti, or whatever they call it?”

“Uh, yes, I have.” Alex doesn’t mention that he stared at it for three whole minutes, entirely too long.

“Do me a favor and clean it up.”

Yep, there it is.

“Sure, Dad.”

Harold Mercer, Assistant Manager, raises an eyebrow at his assistant. Alex suppresses a sigh.

“I will, Mr. Mercer.”

She doesn’t have the faintest idea how to respond to that. Look, Julie might be a musician, she’s definitely not a theatre kid. She’s a terrible actress and a terrible liar and she’s never done improv in her life. She panics just at the thought of it. Imagine how she’s feeling now, in the middle of an improv exercise in front of an entire class of strangers. “Well, you see,” Nick continues, “I’ve had a wonderful dinner at this fine establishment, but I clearly indicated that I wanted, ah, a tomato to end my meal with, not an onion.”
