You know that scene in Emmerdale's Aaron and Robert are having that hushed little married couple argument about letting Faith in the house (she's trying to move in), we'll I would love something like that for Buck and Tommy 😂.
Like maybe Eddie or Madney just won't leave and they're having a quiet argument in the kitchen about who's fault it was that they're even there in the first place 😂
Oh i can definitely see it happening with Eddie. They invited him over for dinner or something to cheer him up and then expect him to just go home after, only he's had too much to drink to be able to drive and drunk!Eddie gets all melancholy and Buck is torn between wanting to Be There for his best friend and wanting to get naked with his hot boyfriend.
I don't know if you meant it as a fic prompt but this happened:
----
"What do we do? He can't go home like this." Buck said quietly, one eye on Eddie slumped over on the sofa.
He'd invited Eddie along when he mentioned going to Tommy's to cook for him, knowing Tommy wouldn't mind, and the evening had been nice. Only one beer with dinner turned into a lot of beers during and after dinner, and Eddie moping and talking about how his life was a mess.
"I know, he's had way too much to drink." Tommy agreed, having joined Buck in the kitchen under the guise of helping him with dessert.
"Maybe I should call him an Uber."
"He'll pass out in the car and they'll leave him on the curb. And that's the best case scenario."
Buck groaned and dropped his head on Tommy's shoulder.
"I hate it when you're right." he stepped a little closer and wrapped his arms around Tommy's waist, letting out a content sigh when the other man's wrapped around his shoulders and he pressed a kiss to his temple.
"Maybe he'll just pass out on the sofa soon and we'll get him a blanket and some aspirin for the hangover tomorrow, and we can go upstairs." Tommy said hopeful.
"Tomás!" Eddie called out from the living room. "You still owe me a rematch from our mu-my-mui our sesh the other day! Let's go big man! I can take you!" he stood up from the sofa and almost lost his balance.
Tommy winced.
"Maybe I should go make sure he doesn't get himself killed falling through the glass table."
Buck tightened his grip on Tommy's waist.
"Not yet."
"What're youtwo doing'nthere?" Eddie had stumbled into the kitchen. "You're making out! In secret!"
"No, no, we weren't. We're just... standing here." Buck said, wishing Eddie would go back to the living room and give them five minutes of peace.
"Uhuh... that's what me and Shannon used t'do. And then, and thennn... there was Chris!"
"I don't think there's any risk of that happening for us." Tommy said, amused.
Eddie considered his words for a moment and then nodded.
"But Buck likes kids! He's like... the... baby whisperer. He... he... can talk to kids... you know? You need to give him a baby. Do you hear me Tomás? You gotta give Buck a baby."
"I'll keep that in mind."
"Hey Eds, do you want to crash on the sofa tonight? It's getting late." Buck offered.
Eddie frowned.
"No. No. Noooo. I'll just... go hooome. To my big... house... with no-one in it... because my son went to Texas... bcuz I screwed up."
"Nope you're staying here." Tommy insisted. "Or else Evan and I will be worrying about you all night and wondering if you made it home in one piece." He reluctantly let go of Buck and gently steered Eddie back to the living room.
"You don't have to worry about me!" Eddie announced, a little too loudly. "I'll be fiiiine!"
"Yeah, well, you can be fine on my sofa for tonight. Humour me." Tommy told him. "Evan, can you get the blanket and pillow from the spare room for him?"
About an hour later, Eddie was snoring on the sofa and Buck followed Tommy up the stairs to the bedroom. He let himself fall forward onto the bed and buried his face in Tommy's pillow, not turning around until he felt the other man's hand running down his spine.
"I'm sorry." he mumbled, deciding to bury his face in Tommy's chest instead.
"What for?"
"Ruining date night..."
"Evan..." Tommy started and waited for Buck to look at him. "Nothing's ruined. You wanted to cheer your best friend up because he's going through a tough time. What's so bad about that?"
Buck gave him a one armed shrug.
"It's not exactly the romantic night we planned..."
"No... but we have plenty of opportunities for romantic nights together. I wouldn't be able to enjoy it anyway if I knew Eddie was home alone feeling miserable. And I know you wouldn't either."
"I suppose not." Buck agreed. "And the hangover he'll have when he wakes up will be plenty of payback." he joked and they both laughed.

Eddie's journey
Eddie is the 10 year old whose father told him he needed to be the man of the house. He's the teenager whose girlfriend got pregnant and who felt pressured to marry partly because of the Church. He's a Mexican-American man, and culturally/lapsed Catholic. He's the young man who enlisted to provide for his family, even though he never wanted to be like his father. He's the husband who thinks they could've done better, who feels guilt for his wife leaving. He's the man who proposed again but got asked for a divorce, and who feels he wasn't enough. He's the widower who didn't get to fix things with his wife, whom he still thinks of as 'the love of [his] life'. He's the man who thinks he needs to be in control, who doesn't want to appear weak, who 'doesn't panic'. He's the son who's recently been patching things up with his father. He's the father who's recently let his kid down and misses him terribly.
Non-exhaustive list of quotes pulled from the show, with links to videos when youtube allows (full 'playlist'), arranged by broad themes:
MASCULINITY
It's under control. Don't worry. S: Every time we talk about money, you tell me not to worry. Guess what, I worry. (2.15) / Bobby: I just wanna make sure you don't think you have to lose everything before you can allow yourself to feel anything. E: No, Christopher needs me to be in control. [...] I wasn't there when he was a baby. Stayed away too long, and it broke his mother. Shannon ran away, and I couldn't stop her. I couldn't bring her back home. (3.08) / S: We'll just sell the house and the cars and I'll go back to work. Maybe only part-time but - E: No, no. Christopher is the priority right now. You should stay home with him. [...] I'm trying to provide for this family. That's the reason I enlisted in the first place. S: I don't need a provider. I need a partner. (3.15) / I don't remember you being around much when I was his age. Ramón: I was working. E: So was I. / Frank: You're a man who spends all of his time managing other people's pain [...] but not a lot of time facing your own. Can't put all your feelings in a box, Eddie. You might think if you're strong enough that it'll hold. But at some point, that box is gonna blow open. E: And take me with it. F: You and anyone else around you. (5.13) / [R] spent his whole life driving across the state. Living everywhere but under his own roof with his own family. ... Oh, uh, why don't you tell them about the time you pulled your ten-year-old son aside and told him it was time to step up? Be the man of the house? [...] R: I was providing for the family. E: Providing? Providing what money? - Okay R: Exactly. I had to do what I had to do. E: A family needs more than money. (6.17)

RELIGION
Turns out, I'm a Manchurian Catholic. I've just got a reservoir of Catholic guilt just lying dormant, waiting to be activated [...] What, you think I should go to confession? You think a priest is going to make me feel better about all this? [...] Bobby: Lapsed Catholic, still a Catholic. [...] That was a lot of the reason why we got married. The Church. She got pregnant and I think we both felt pressured into it. But I never regretted it, and even when things got really bad, there was always a part of me that I loved being married to her. (7.05) / Bobby: Eddie, I was going through some things, and I found this [prayer book]. Made me think of you. Just hang onto it, It might come in handy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SHANNON
He loves having you around.[...] We both do. [...] I want this. Want to have a nice day on the beach with my son and his mother. ... Bobby: Were you ready the first time? Eddie: No. I knew I loved her, but I didn't think I was ready to get married. [...] I guess the question is, can I be a good husband? ... I knew Christopher missed you, but I I don't think I realized just how much I did, too. [...] We could have done better, we could have tried, I want us to be a family again. (2.17) / I loved your mom and I miss her, probably always will. (3.04) / I'm angry at a dead person and at myself because I forgave her for everything, and and it wasn't enough. I wasn't enough. (3.08) / I just want what I had when I met Shannon. It just happened. It was magic. Hen: Oh, so you believe in magic. E: I believe in chemistry. ... Bobby: Eddie, I know how hard this is. One thing you can't do is compare what you had with what you think you're gonna have. You just have to be open to whatever comes. (6.17)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(7.09 deleted scene)
CHRISTOPHER
E: Christopher. Is this Mom? Hey. Is that who you've been dreaming about? (3.04) / I wish I could forget. People go away. Not just Mom. Abuelita, Carla, my friends. They leave and then I miss them. I don't want to miss anyone else. (4.08) / Ravi: You must be Eddie's wife? C: Not yet. (5.02) / They just end up leaving anyway. Buck: Uh, why would you say that? C: My mom did. B: Uh, Chris, your mom died. C: Before that. She left us. We loved her, and she left anyway. I can't remember her voice anymore. (7.01)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(5.03) (6.18)
Dad, do you think she can hear us when we talk to her? E: Absolutely. That's why we come here. C: I wish I could hear her talk back. E: Me, too, bud. Me, too. ...
Tumblr media
I'm sorry. I was thinking maybe we could watch it together in El Paso next weekend. I know. Yeah, I know. I know, it's last-minute, but I miss you guys, and I know Christopher does, too. Exactly. Why wait? Well, there's no better time than now. (6.15) / Chris, he's excited to see everyone, he misses them. (5.17)
I tried to talk about it with him and he ignored me the whole drive back. R: That part, that part sounds like us. The old Díaz family cold shoulder. Your Abuela originated it, but as I recall, you perfected it. [...] You had to grow up a lot faster than you should have. But that doesn't mean you can keep Christopher a kid forever. (6.04)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It just pisses me off. I mean, here's a kid who actually wants his dad in his life, and he doesn't even bother to show up? I miss him so much, Cap. I'm trying to respect his wishes, but we zoom a couple times a week, barely says a word to me. ... Sometimes a son just needs his father. Hell, a father needs his son. I speak from experience. ... But you're missing out on watching him grow up, on who he's becoming. ... I'm a dad who doesn't live under the same roof as his son. And it's my fault. And I hate it. (8.04) / Christopher doesn't want anything to do with Halloween, turns out. [...] Not like I was gonna be able to do it with him anyway. I just wish I knew last year was his last. (8.05)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
That's the path behind him, so I don't think it's outrageous to expect that his future storyline(s) at least in short and mid term will involve unpacking at least some of that as well as whatever moves/decisions made to actively heal his relationship with Christopher and get him back.
Also, this is why Christopher felt the need for some space; it's not out of nowhere, and he isn't throwing a tantrum.
Some interesting posts: Eddie Díaz's tragic timeline; 2.17 vs 8.05 comparison gifset; about Ryan Guzmán's references in interviews (x, x, x); about Eddie's background/potential SLs based on it (x, x).

Note
I had a theory I wanted to share but bear with me while I get to it.
Thinking about how now we know for sure Eddie & Marisol are actually having sex regularly got me thinking about how Eddie & Shannon's problem was never their sex life and wondering how/if that plays into Eddie being with Marisol? Because we know things never seemed to click with Ana both emotionally and physically but they are clicking physically with Marisol up until the whole nun thing after which Eddie seemed to be like "well I guess we'll break up now" but didn't seem too devastated by it? If anything he felt more like someone in the beginning of relationship not someone after months of dating & then moving in together. Which of course they decided to slow that because he realized they were going too fast but he said he really wants this time to work out but I'm not seeing a convincing reason why? They're friendly sure & having good sex I guess but what's their emotional connection? How close actually are they? I'm having a hard time understanding it. But this is only his like 3rd ever relationship right? He doesn't have a lot to compare it to & so maybe because he clicked in a way he didn't with Ana that maybe reminds him of what he had with Shannon? Except he & Shannon were best friends, they had a deep emotional connection in addition to a pretty good sex life. So I don't know but maybe Eddie is thinking they needed to move in because it would help them get closer and now maybe they need more time or something? We know he hates dating and feeling like he needs to perform so maybe it's like this is the first woman since Shannon he's able to/enjoys sleeping with so he figures that must mean something more? And I love the idea of he's never considered men being an option before and him now starting on that journey or realizing he did like men or at least Buck and he's now realizing Buck could be an option, like any of those theories and then realizing maybe what he's actually missing in his relationship with Marisol he already has with Buck and realizing he can also have that good sexual part of it (not that he has to but it does seem important to him) too. Because for all of the problems that he & Shannon had they did love and care about each other. I like to think if she'd lived they would have still gotten divorced & actually settled into a solid friendship with each other. But that's neither here nor there.
Is this a crazy stretch? Maybe. I'm just trying to make sense of it all. And I'm a Buddie girlie at heart always so it makes me feel more hopeful.
No, I'm actually with you here. I think Ana was just the first person he thought he could latch onto back then, and she was pretty and nice and Chris liked her, so he thought he could learn to love her eventually. I mean the show does imply that eddieana had sex. I know we like to joke they didn't, but the show very much does imply that with the "you really like to dress me up" "and the other thing" comment at the store before the first panic attack. But they weren't clicking emotionally and we didn't see them connect physically, so Eddie was just "sticking it out". Shannon, the sex worked and I did know how to talk, I don't think you can fight the way they did if you don't know each other. Shannon knew exactly how to disarm Eddie. How to say the thing that would get him questioning his actions. So even if we didn't get to see a lot of moments in their marriage where they were just happy, we know they had good sex and we know they knew how to talk. With Marisol he seems to be connecting with her physically, but he can't seem to connect with her emotionally, because we don't know anything about Marisol because the impression they are giving is that Eddie doesn't know a lot about her. He could have thought that the shock of moving in would bring them closer and then make the relationship better, there is an argument to be made there. And like, he says he really likes her but his brain went to the break up route and he didn't seem that devastated about it. It is canon information that this is Eddie's 3rd relationship, assumed 3rd person he slept with. So he doesn't have a lot of reference points. Which is why he keeps chasing Shannon. But I also think that enough pent up sexual energy can make people see more in a relationship than there actually is, good sex doesn't equal a good relationship (just look at Buck and Taylor and the way they had the chemistry but lacked everything else). But Shannon worked because they had both the friendship and the chemistry. If Shannon was still alive I think they would very much learn to be friends for Chris' sake and eventually settle back into the friendship and figure out who they are together while better equipped to handle what's being thrown at them. But he's lacking the communication aspect of a good relationship with Marisol. He doesn't have the friendship. He does have the friendship with Buck though. And I guess having sex with men in general never occurred to him (but as a demisexual Eddie believer I think sex is not something he worries about a lot unless it's actively creating problems in his life like in merry exmas and you don't know me, both episodes who contain the two sex scenes that lead to problems in the relationship, and it is an interesting way to create problems on Eddie's relationship by calling back to that conflict with Shannon that eventually led Eddie to let Shannon back in but literally led to him kicking Marisol out, also interesting that he sneaks Shannon out of the house and leaves Marisol alone in it) so he never thought about having sex with Buck specifically, but I don't see how Eddie could go "oh maybe I want to have sex with men?" and not instantly attach that to Buck too, because he's Buck. Considering the way I don't think Eddie knows how to qualify who Buck is to him, but does have Buck stored away as the person he trusts the most, I think that attraction to men would instantly attach to the safest person, and that's Buck.
But the question is how they are gonna handle his sexuality. I don't know if they are ever gonna explicitly label him, or Buck for they matter, on the show, but on a meta level Buck is being thought of as bisexual and they are adding to the pieces that are already there to make Buck a bisexual man. I have no idea where Eddie's sexuality is going. I can give you an argument for that man to be demisexual and/or demiromantic with the last episode. The fact that he didn't know that aspect of her killed his boner and his excitement with the relationship. So much so he had to go back to the getting to know her step. But is the show ballsy enough to have a character like Eddie be demisexual? Are they ballzy enough to make the womanizer bi and the single father ace? I don't know. Probably not. I think Eddie has a complicated relationship with sex. Is it the religious trauma? Is the demisexuality? Is it both? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I also think that that complicated relationship with sex makes it harder for him to want to date, because dating comes with expectations. He's clearly not romance or sex repulsed, but he does have trouble connecting on a deeper level with these women. He doesn't have trouble connecting with Buck. I think if you plant the attraction to men seed with him, his brain would fill the empty space with Buck. Kinda in the same way he keeps trying to match these women to Shannon. So he could get there. He can absolutely get there. I see this being a route to be taken. I don't know if the show is brave enough to do it though.

2024 fic roundup!
I got tagged to do this by @cal-daisies-and-briars and @inell!
This year I wrote 16 fics, with a total word count of 67,200! I didn't write anything until May because I was sort of between fandoms at the beginning of the year until I started watching 911, so we'll start with May! *ed fics are my personal favorites!
If you haven't read my stuff, hopefully you'll see something that interests you!
May
no one's ever had me (not like you)
Buck/Eddie; Teen; Teacher!Buck with Daniel Lives!
This was my first work in this fandom, and it was fun, and I still like it but I think that I definitely got a better hold on the characters as I went on. Re-reading a bit ago I could definitely tell I was still trying to figure out exactly how to find their voices.
Summary: “Uhm, excuse me? Excuse - “ Evan turns to find a man - a very very attractive man - in a faded army t-shirt and sunglasses shielding his eyes standing in front of him. Evan is so distracted by the man’s arms that he nearly doesn’t see that he actually does have a kid with him. “Hi, can you help me?”
“Uh - “ Evan feels stupid. Maybe his parents were right about him and he’s just really dumb. He doesn’t even remember what he’s doing here. “Uh, yes. That’s my…job? Yes, that’s what I’m here for.”
-or-
an au where Daniel didn't die, and eventually Buck became a teacher. Chris' teacher, to be exact.
June
as the decade would play us for fools *
Buck/Eddie; Teen; Army Buddies AU
This is my most popular fic of the year and in the fandom. It's my second most kudo-ed fic of all time. I really love it, and it's hard to believe it was only my second 911/buddie fic. I'm so proud of it, and I'm really really glad that other people in fandom seem to love it!
Summary: “Don’t look, Buck, but I think you might have some competition.” Chim sounds way too amused for his own good.
Buck’s eyes settled onto the naked, beautiful, toned torso of a man. Buck is really good at schooling his face until his eyes slide up to the new recruit’s face and suddenly the jealousy and tension fades away.
“Diaz!?” Buck’s already walking towards the locker room when Eddie looks up. The shocked surprise on his face is evident. And, well.
;or
Buck and Eddie met in basic training. Buck hasn't seen Eddie since the day he left the army, but he's never forgotten him.
think i really want this (i'm not even kidding)
Buck/Eddie; Teen; Buck adopts a baby AU
This was the fic I wrote for my partner, @itsabeenado's birthday. It was a lot of fun to just play with Buck as a Dad. I got the idea and had to write it. I also used elements from Ted Lasso's anonymous dating app plot because that was just fun. Also Shannon is alive because I can do that if I want.
Summary: He’d deleted all of his dating apps when he adopted Camille but this feels different. Maybe if nothing else he can find some other single parents to commiserate about how hard it is. Buck knows he chose this life, but it would be nice to have someone who didn’t remind him of that every time he was sad he couldn’t go out with the team because there wasn’t another person at home to pick up parenting duties for a couple of hours. It might be nice to have friends who get how hard being a single parent is.
;or
Buck adopts a baby girl, meets Eddie Diaz, and makes a friend. Somewhere along the way he falls in love.
July
pauses, then says you're my best friend (you knew what it was) *
Buck/Eddie; Teen; Twitter fic; SWIFTIE FIREFIGHTERS ORIGIN STORY
I'm not gonna lie this is probably an OOC mess but it was fun and silly and I'm a swiftie so I wanted to make my boys swifties and challenge myself to tell a story in this way. I love sm aus and boy I found it *so* hard to tell a story without narrative. I have so much respect for people who specialize in epistolary story telling. Also I fucking love the OCs I created for this fic. They were so much fun and I really want to write a sequel some day so I can play with them again.
Summary: bbuckley: well chim got called into work because SOMEONE – @ragingravi – got food poisoning last night so now maddie can’t come to taylor
bbuckley: it’s okay i just pouted at @ediaz118 until he agreed to come
ediaz118: god help me i have lost control of my ability to say no to @bbuckley
or;
buck drags eddie to a taylor swift concert. wackiness ensues.
the sign on your heart says it's still reserved for me
Buck/Eddie; Gen Audiences; Prompt Fill
What it says on the tin. Cute little prompt fill about coming out to Chris.
Summary: “Do you think he was really okay with it?” Buck wipes his hands over his jeans. “Like, I know he likes me. We hang out all the time! It’s just - “
“Are you really asking if Chris is okay with us dating? I can’t believe you ever thought there was a chance he might not be, Buck.”
and the way you keep the world at bay for me *
Buck/Eddie; Gen Audiences; Prompt Fill
BIRTHMARK KISSING.
Summary: “It’s, uh. A birthmark. No one hit me.” Most people would think he says it in good humor, and mostly he does, but Eddie knows Buck well enough to detect the hint of annoyance there - the slight whisper of insecurity.
“You know, my dad is one of the best dermatologists in LA. He works on the Kardashians.” She giggles. “I bet he could fix that for you. I’ll tell him you saved my life.”
gimme something that'll haunt me when you're not around
BuddieTommy; General Audiences; Prompt Fill
Cute little fic about Tommy and Buck taking Eddie on a date.
Summary: “You know, it’s okay if you need Eddie, too. I won’t be jealous. It’s not like I haven’t always known - “
“Known what!?”
“That you and Eddie are important to each other.” Tommy sounds like he’s being careful with his words, and it makes Buck feel a buzzing under his skin, like Tommy’s seeing something he doesn’t want seen, not even by himself.
“He’s my best friend.”
or-
tommy takes buck and eddie on a date. it just takes buck a minute.
August
i choose you and me, religiously
Buck/Eddie (Buck/Tommy Break-Up); Mature; Cheating-Ish Fic.
IDK, man. Y'all know I love Tommy and Buck/Tommy. But I got real obsessed with this song and I wanted to kind of write a fic based onto it. No Tommy Bashing. Also I wrote this on a fucking airplane from San Diego to Dallas. That's all.
Summary: “Are you going to stand in the doorway or follow me to the kitchen?”
“Oh right, yeah. Kitchen.” Buck reminds himself he has a boyfriend. A boyfriend that really cares about him and is also very attractive. With a lot of muscles and can lift him off the ground in one move. Eddie is his best friend.
Buck is really, really, a lot more drunk than he initially thought.
He stands at the counter while Eddie gets him a glass of water and sits it in front of him.
“Why did you come here?” Eddie smiles, big bright brown eyes and soft smile.
“I don’t know. Just thought I hadn’t been over in a while. I wanted to see you.”
;or
Buck has a boyfriend but he can't stop thinking about his best friend.
and you'll say lets run away now
Buck/Eddie (Buck/Taylor Break-Up); Teen; Eddie Does Not Hold His Peace
Again, I just wanted to write a fic based on Speak Now because it's a fun little song. I didn't want to break up Buck and Tommy again, though, so I used Buck and Taylor.
Summary: His job today is to stand up with Buck and be happy for him. To hand him the ring when Bobby asks him to - because of course Bobby is performing the ceremony. Eddie knows he’s not the only one who thinks this is a bad idea. He couldn’t be, right?
Buck and Taylor shouldn’t be getting married.
or -
Eddie is around when they say speak now (or something like it)
if our love starts to grow out of control
BuddieTommy; Mature; Buck and Eddie get married in Vegas. Tommy thinks it's funny.
This was actually the first idea I ever got in this fandom, but I could never quite get what I wanted out of it. I decided to post it as a wip and this is why I don't ever write wips. IDK if anything will ever come of it, but it works decent as a little one-shot too, I guess. I hope I do manage to come back to it some day though.
Summary: “Come on. I’m on shift practically all weekend. Why don’t you and Eddie take a boys trip to Vegas? You could probably both use the distraction.”
“You wouldn’t want to fly us there, would you?”
“Can’t, sorry.” Tommy laughs to himself. “Honestly, I probably would if I didn’t have to be on call in the morning. Go on, have a road trip, eat some fast food, and do something crazy with your best friend.”
or;
Tommy suggests Buck and Eddie get away for the weekend and do something crazy. And, well, they end up married.
so honey hold my hand like you're making me wait for it
BuddieTommy; Teen; Popstar Buck, Firefighter Eddie, and Bodyguard Tommy
This is another one that I have a wide amount of backstory in my head for and eventually wanted to do more with. It works as a little one shot but. Sigh.
Summary: “Did you make it into the venue alright?”
Buck looks up at Eddie, much to his make up artists’ annoyance. He’s got to be on stage in twenty minutes, and he hasn’t seen his boyfriend in months. The long distance of telephones and facetime, or if it’s a really busy day for one of them, text have been the only thing holding them together since Buck had left for his long tour.
He never regretted his career choice until he met Eddie Diaz.
or,
Buck is a popstar. Eddie is his boyfriend. Tommy saves their lives. A lot.
September
now i found myself this kinda love (i can't believe it)
Buck/Tommy; Teen; Photographer Buck AU
I really just wanted to write a Buck/Tommy fic because I hadn't yet, and this was a fun little AU idea I got and I couldn't help myself.
Summary: “Evan Buckley. I’m the photographer for the shoot.” He holds out his hand, but Tommy is distracted by his - quite honestly ridiculous blue eyes and it takes him way too long to shake his head out of it and extend his own hand.
“I’m Eddie, in case anyone was wondering.” The other guy - Mr. 118, Eddie - supplies, voice laced with humor.
“I know your name, asshole.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Eddie.” He clears his throat. “And, uh. Evan. It’s nice to meet you.”
;or
Evan is the photographer for the LAFD firefighter calendar, and Tommy is Mr. June.
October
time flies, messy as the mud on your truck tires *
Buck/Eddie; Teen; Tis the Damn Season AU
THIS FIC!!!! This fic nearly murdered me. At one point I thought it was going to be like 10 chapters and 100k or something and I really had to real myself in and tell the story in a soft and simple way. But I have so many different parts in my head. I know their whole backstory. I know their future. I know so many little details. I think I lived with this fic in my mind in some capacity for months and I breathed it by the time I actually wrote it. I'm proud of how it ultimately came out, though. Once again, Shannon is alive.
Summary: “I’m in El Paso.” Buck fumbles with the hem of his t-shirt, nervously. It’s so annoying that he hasn’t just let himself turn up to Eddie’s parents, asking where he can find Eddie. Helena had always loved him. She wouldn’t question his presence even a little bit. She would probably give him a big hug and invite him in for coffee. He’s just not sure he has that right or place in Eddie’s life anymore.
After all, he was the one who’d taken off.
“You’re - “ There’s a long pause on the other end of the line and then Buck hears the click of a door. “You’re here?”
“Yeah, I had to get out of LA. I was feeling a little suffocated and a lot lost. I’m at my parents’ house.”
;or Buck, Shannon, and Eddie were best friends in high school until it got messy. Buck left the day of their wedding, but now he's injured and he can't go back to work and he just needs to get out of la, so he goes back to his home town.
December
don't love you yet but probably will
BuddieTommy; Teen; Established Buddie
For the BuddieTommy Daily Holiday Exchange! A fun little fic where Buddie are established and bring Tommy in.
Summary: “Whoa, whoa.” Eddie blinks when they walk into the hangar. He hasn’t seen Tommy Kinard in years and now here he is, about to fly them into a fucking hurricane, and apparently he used to be with the 118. There’s a lot of thoughts swirling through Eddie’s mind right now. “Kinard?”
or;
Eddie and Tommy were in the army together, and now here he is, flying them into a hurricane. Also, Eddie's boyfriend is definitely into Tommy. It's fine.
i thought the plane was going down (how'd you turn it right around) *
BuddieTommy; Teen; Shooting Arc with Established Eddie/Tommy
Pinch Hit for the same exchange. I just. Really love the shooting Arc, and I wanted to fuck Buck up emotionally because it's fun for me to do. And I just thought it'd be a little fun twist to have established Eddie/Tommy instead of Buddie or BuckTommy. Let's put Buck on the outside and see how it goes.
Summary: Buck hasn’t met Eddie’s husband.
Tommy Kinard-Diaz is a commercial pilot who spends most of his time away from home.
And then Eddie gets shot in front of him, is bleeding out in an ambulance and all Buck can do is repeat stay with me stay with me while thinking about Chris at home, unaware that his dad could be dying, and Tommy somewhere in the world probably thinking about coming home to his husband in a couple of days, unaware that his husband is on his way to the hospital with a gunshot wound.
or;
Eddie gets shot, and Buck has not only tell his son but also his commercial pilot husband who could be anywhere in the world right now.
it's all me (in my head) i'm the one who burned us down *
BuddieTommy; Teen; Post 8x06 Confessions Fic with Tommy POV
ohhh my love. I loved this fic. I really enjoyed being in Tommy's head for once, and it was my first time really digging into his POV. When I saw Gat liked angst with a happy ending, I saw the perfect opportunity to play with the break up and see how I could get them to work it out but obviously, I love my BuddieTommy and it was for that exchange so I worked in elements of Buddie and EddieTommy throughout. This is maybe one of my favorite things I've written.
Summary: Tommy allows himself five minutes to sit in the perfect parking spot he’d found at Evan’s building. Five minutes to wonder if he’s doing the right thing. Five minutes to let himself grieve the relationship he briefly thought would be his last. Five minutes.
or;
Tommy broke up with Evan and broke his own heart in the process.
That's only the beginning of the story.
NO PRESSURETagging @lonelychicago, @hawkbutt and any other writer friends who haven't done this yet (though I think most of you have!!!)

my brain isnt primed for dads au rn so feel free to ignore if this is just repetitive but if you havent done it before.... something something libby's bday?
libby's third birthday
//
"Yes, I have the list of emergency contacts, yes, I have you on speed dial, yes, I know the route from the rink to the closest urgent care centre. I've got moleskine in case the new skates give her blisters and a screwdriver set if I have to adjust her helmet." Shannon grins. "Careful, I might start to think you don't trust me with her."
"One might be correct in that assumption," Lilith drawls. "Forgive me if I've never really gotten over you skating a lap with her in your trapper when she was six months old."
"Not every day you bring home the 'ship. Had to celly with my best girl."
"Oof," Mary says as she joins them from the kitchen. She passes a duffel to Shannon and knocks into her shoulder. "What does that make me?"
"Bestest girl? Wonder woman? Dearly beloved?"
Mary tilts her head, considers the options for a moment, then nods. "I'll take it. You have your coaching bag in the car?"
"Yes, darling, I wasn't about to teach her in my goalie skates."
"Just checking." She kisses Shannon softly. "You've got this, babe."
"I know I do! Why is that even in question?"
Beatrice has Libby cradled on her hip swaddled in a snowsuit when she joins them. "Lily, can you get her boots on, please? And lay off Shan. She taught me how to skate, Libby's going to be fine."
"Thank you for the vote of confidence," Shannon replies.
Beatrice grins back at her. "Unless Libby ends up wanting to be a goalie. None of them are the least bit normal."
"Never mind, I take back every nice thing I've ever said about you. Let's go, Libs. At least you appreciate me."
//
Stepping out onto fresh ice will always, always be a top three sensation for Shannon. The sharp cut of blade across the surface, the air frosty in her chest, cheeks pink with the chill of it all.
Libby doesn't seem as immediately enamoured with it all, though. She's shaky on her skates, her arms crossed over her chest, brow knitted together behind the cage of her helmet as she surveys the ice. Shannon crouches in front of her and holds out a gloved hand. "Are you ready, Libs?"
Libby gnaws thoughtfully at her lip. "Can I hold both of your hands?" she asks finally, inching towards the gate.
"Of course, darling." Shannon takes both of Libby's hands in hers, marvels for a moment at the size disparity between them. "Okay, just step over nice and slow."
Libby stumbles slightly when she lands both skates on the ice, but catches her balance quickly. She grins at Shannon. "I'm doing it!"
"Yes, you are! Good girl, Libs. Okay, do you remember how I'm gonna hold onto you?"
"Under my arms?"
"That's right. So I'm gonna shift my hold on you now, alright? Try your best to stay standing, but remember–"
"Everyone falls sometimes," Libby parrots back. She tips her chin down, focuses intently on her skates.
"Exactly. I'm gonna let go in three, two, one–" She pulls her hands away from Libby's and stands upright, taking a moment to stretch her back as she circles behind her. Libby's head follows her, drawn by the movement, and then her body, and then she's in a heap on the ice.
Shannon rolls her eyes, crouches again. "You okay, Libs?"
"Fine," Libby announces, "I'm fine," and it's so Beatrice that Shannon has to bite back a smile.
"What do you need to do now?"
"Get up," Libby says, squirming about onto her knees. She gets one foot up under her, then the other, then pushes up with her hands until she's standing tall again.
"Great work, Libs. I'm gonna grab you under the arms now, okay?" Libby nods, and Shannon takes hold. "And we're off!"
//
When Shannon returns to the house, it's with Libby cradled on her hip, head drooping tiredly against her shoulder. She presses a finger to her lips to shush the questions boiling up in Lilith's chest, but the movement stirs Libby fully awake and she groggily raises her head and glances around.
"Dad!"
"How was it, Libby?"
"Wonderful," she replies dreamily. "Aunt Shan, can we go again next week?"
Shannon makes direct eye contact with Lilith and makes no attempt to keep her smug grin from her face. "If your dads say it's okay, darling, then of course we can."

Disagreeing with my own post
I put up this post two nights ago and while I think I was right about the first part regarding Eddie's relationship issues, some tags from @elibad (thank you!) have made me rethink the second part regarding the actual outcome on the show. I'm going to clarify my position a bit before debunking it, though, because it brings up issues I have...feelings about.
Fwiw, I didn't mean that Christopher would be taken permanently, I meant that Eddie would agree to let his grandparents take him maybe for a summer so that Eddie could have a break and take some time to figure himself out. I am EXTREMELY against any situation where Buck takes Chris, especially in any kind of government-enforced sense (which would be BS anyway) while Eddie is still alive because there is such a terrible history in the US of brown kids (which Christopher is even if Gavin isn't) being taken from brown parents at the drop of a hat and either being given to Nice White families or just dumped into a shitty foster care system. So, again, what I should have made clear is that, in my theory, Eddie would realize that he's not in a good place and would let his parents (NOT Buck) take Chris temporarily just to give him some time to breathe. It takes a village, you know.
All that said, no, actually, that would be a terrible outcome. It would defeat the purpose of 6 seasons of Buck being integrated into Eddie and Christopher's lives and would also inevitably punish Eddie more than it would help him. I also think that narratively, anything that reinforces the heteronormative nuclear family bias that Helena has and that she has forced onto Eddie would conflict with the narrative the show is trying to present. Helena being proven right about Christopher's placement, even temporarily, might do that. Plus...taking a kid from a single parent is also bad rep and just shouldn't happen.
Bottom line, Eddie is a phenomenal father. Despite Eddie's struggles with trauma from war and the death of his wife, Christopher is loved, appreciated, and supported to a much higher degree than not only most disabled children but also most children, period. End of. Just because Eddie is going through something right now does not mean that he is unfit in any way, and it truly horrifies me to think that I implied that at all. I do think that, because of his own issues, the speed with which Eddie integrates the women he dates into his life with Christopher is exacerbating Christopher's abandonment issues and that should be addressed, but it's not something that's hurting Chris to the degree that removal is necessary or appropriate.
What Eddie needs is support. And he has it. From Buck. Who was basically framed as his wife in 7x07 (which is, ironically, why people who are determined to ship Buck with someone else are ALSO the ones suggesting that Buck has the right and motivation to kick Eddie in the metaphorical nuts for lying - they view Buck as a spouse even if they think they don't because Tim is brilliant at framing and narrative). So the best outcome of this situation is for Eddie to put Shannon to bed and stand up for the decision he has made for Christopher against his parents, even if that alienates them. And for Buck to back Eddie to the hilt when it matters. And for Christopher to stay exactly where he is. Moving forward, I'm going to be starting any future speculation from this premise.

love this podcast so much! this is probably a bit of a nuts ask but i just wanted to let you guys know that you've genuinely helped me in real life- I was approached by two Mormon missionaries today (i live in the UK so it was Unexpected to say the least) and for the entirety of the conversation I was remembering how you mentioned on one of your episodes (99% sure it was you guys) about how being on missionary is most Mormons' first experience of the wider world so you should do your best to be polite etc. all the context you gave genuinely helped me navigate the conversation so much lmao, you guys are entertaining AND educational 10/10
oh wow!! daaaamn, good for you!
and yeah, that sounds like something we would say. I (G) can't seem to dig up receipts right now but the tl;dr is that oftentimes, door-to-door evangelism of the kind mormon missionaries and jehovah's witnesses engage in is less effective at converting people, but highly effective at reinforcing to the group's members that all outsiders are Cruel And Sinful and therefore you should never leave The Church because that's where the only good and kind people are.
but also, like, 90% of the time the reason I (G) try to be kind to mormon missionaries is because they're like 20 and have never been allowed the simple joy of a macchiato (but must try to fill that void with vile concoctions of dr pepper, gummy worms, and half 'n half, apparently.)
also, let the record show that "being kind" does not mean showing any interest whatsoever in converting to mormonism, or leading them on to that effect! but it costs $0 to wish them a nice day and be a shining example of how wearing spaghetti straps does not in fact lead to sacrificing live goats to satan.
anyway. we're proud of you, anon! glad you like the ole podcast 🤠
—G
yeah this is awesome to hear!! and even to add onto this, that sort of advice is pretty good to utilize just in general when talking to people from these ultra-conservative, super-sheltered (and yes, usually religious) upbringings. like G said, you don't need to lie to them and make them believe that "oh yeah totally i'm absolutely going to see you this sunday and I sure will consider changing the entirety of my belief system/morals!" but, yknow, just be kind. it's good to do even for Normal Regular people you see on the street. but this isn't sesame street so I won't start that brand of schoolyard lecture.
semi-related, but a little tangential: my super-strict catholic high school used to invite mormon missionaries to come and 'speak with' specific religious classes (usually the TrulyCatholic bitches took these) every year. and every year we heard about how "lol the ridiculous mormons keep coming and being nice to us to try and talk about their religion as if we're EVER going to change our minds and believe in their FAKE and WRONG version of christianity?? isn't it so stupid that they're so patient and kind to us even as sister catherine anne stands back and lets us bully—I mean, debate these guys? anyways I wonder when the morons—I mean, mormons, will stop coming back. 😌💅"
and to this day I still think about those guys! because I never understood their willingness to come back every year, and I could not fathom why they were consistently so nice. learning more about mormonism through this podcast has really helped my ex-catholic ass look at the outside world and be like "oh, we were the assholes. I mean, I knew that already, but shit." and tbh i'm sure they honestly loved coming to my school, because nothing will solidify your own stance/opinion on a group of 'outsiders' than a mob of privileged ravenous catholic teenagers. anyways, let that be a refrain for you on your new day-to-day: don't be like the catholics, be kind. amen 🙏

hi hi finally getting onto this thank you for the tags & sorry i'm so bad at responding life has been busy!
@cal-daisies-and-briars @jeeyuns i appreciate you!
Tumblr media
(what a lovely gif @nymika-arts!)
under the cut for dash reasons:
this is from a new thing that is slowly taking shape but is just a small thing (kind of)...
She laughs again, warm and mischievous. “God, she is the worst. It’s like, you’re also married, Julie. Sorry your husband’s hedge fund arms aren’t as big.”  Buck laughs. “Oh, I have to avoid the dads like him because otherwise they corner me to obsess about my body and ask about my workout routine. I don’t even think it’s that they want to fuck me, it’s that weird straight guy masc adoration thing.” She cackles, laughing so much she has to put down her drink.   She sighs.  “I love bitching about PTA moms with you.”  Buck laughs. “I thought you’d prefer Eddie for this, he says I’m too nice to them.”  She laughs. “Eddie’s bitchier, but you’re so funny. They act so weird about you.” “I’ll take it, then,” he grins, taking a sip.  There’s something in the back of his mind, something catching but not lighting. “Where’s Eddie?” he asks.  There’s music coming from the french doors behind them, lightly. That band that Eddie likes because his Dad used to play them a lot. What were they called? Something Spanish? Buena Vista Social Club, he remembers.  She glances back at the open doors, then back to him, “I love this song,” she says picking up her drink to take a sip. “Eddie’s in there with Toby.”  “Toby?” Buck asks, trying to remember.  She giggles. “How tipsy are you? My partner, Toby. They’re probably getting distracted by talking about baseball or something.”  “Right, Toby,” he smiles.  He watches her, with her perfect red lipstick and sparkling eyes, and suddenly, the thing at the back of his mind occurs to him. “Shannon?”  “Yes, Buck?”  “How - how are you here? And where - where’s here?” he asks, sitting up and looking around. He puts his drink down.
i hope that people enjoy this whenever i get around to finishing it! <3

Sorry in advanced for the caps but WE WERE FINE WITHOUT THE STILLS so like we know Shannon is in this episode yep and like so Eddie has unfinished business with her so like he gonna like have a panic attack again I guess about M and him and I’m like tbh I just want him to break up with M 😭😭😭 and she is also gonna be in the medals episode so I’m like 💀 WE CANT HAVE NICE THINGS WE WERE BETTER WITHOUT THE STILLS unless is a dream nightmare and make him think you know what im not ready to date or I don’t want to date and he doesn’t get the why yet and thinks is because he haven’t move on from Shannon
Please let it be a dream nightmare lol
But yea... we bit the hand that fed us and those still are our punishment. Lets just hope its a short scene and somehow ties into Eddie's whole arc of trying to live up to certain standards pushed onto him.
Let M go Eddie. (Her smile alone gives me nightmares). Let Shannon go too, but in a more positive way after she smacks the hetero norms out.
(I'm scared too anon.)

Chapter 3 of Just Coffee Hearts is out now!!
not tagging people today because I'm tired
“I just don't understand how you two ended up at an abandoned water park in the first place,” Amy tells Dex. We’re all working this Saturday, and it’s a slow day so we're pretty much just hanging out, and talking, not worrying about much,
“We got lost,” Keefe shrugs casually, Keefe isn't working today but is here nonetheless and sharing some random story from last summer when he and Dex went camping. I’m still not sure how they got to the water park and they won’t tell me so I've pretty much given up on finding out.
I hear the door open and look up, my legs nearly falling out from underneath me seeing Biana walk through the door, her mouth breaks into a smile when she sees me and I can feel my cheeks get warm,
“How are you already blushing?” my cousin whispers,
“Shut up please,” I respond quickly before Biana can get to the counter and can hear all my so-called friends laughing quietly,
“Hi, um what can I get you today, I should mention were having a sale on our blueberry muffins,” I say to her finding words much easier than the last time we spoke,
“A latte please and a blueberry muffin I guess,” she laughs “Oh, and a chocolate chip muffin too, please, thank you,” she seems nervous and it makes her even cuter,
“Coming right up,”
Biana’s phone rings and she steps outside to answer it while Amy says “Ok Sophie you make her coffee and Dex you get her muffin,”
“And what will you be doing?” Keefe asks,
Amy looks around for a second, “I will get her the other muffin,” she says confidently,
I turn to start making Biana’s latte deciding to add a little foam art of a heart on top,
“Oh that's cute,” Keefe says looking over my shoulder “You should write your number on the side,”
“Oh, you totally should!” Amy says almost squealing,
“I'm not going to do that,”
“Why not?” Dex asks, “You clearly seem to like her, I mean you practically melt when you see her so why don't you make a move?”
“Ok that's a pretty good point hand me that sharpie,” I say
“Hey sorry about that one of my brothers called me and I didn’t want to miss it,” Biana says coming back in,
“No worries I get it, my older sister is at college so I try not to miss any of her calls either,” I say to her while handing her the latte and bag of muffins,
“My brother is in college too,” she says and looks down seeing her coffee, “Oh this is super cute, I love it! I hope it wasn't too much trouble.”
“Thanks, and don't worry it's just a coffee heart, I've known how to do them for a while it’s a plus of having parents that own a coffee shop,” I say light heartily,
“Your parents own this place?” Biana asks,
“Yeah they opened it a little after they graduated from college and used to live in the apartment upstairs”
“Very cool,” Biana smiles and pauses for a moment looking down at my name tag, “Sophie, that's a nice name,”
“Thanks, I've had it all my life”. Dear god, why did I decide to say that, Biana chuckles and looks back down at her coffee “Is this your phone number?”
“Yes, it is,” I say hoping she doesn't feel like I overstepped,
“I will make sure to call you, Sophie,” Biana says and I smile, we stand there for a moment before she turns to leave. The moment I see the door close I sink to the floor not knowing what to do next,
“I'm not going to lie that went much better than I thought it would, I so thought you would make a fool out of yourself but you were surprisingly put together,” Biana says sitting down next to me,
“Really because I feel like a disaster,” I say into my hands,
“You are a disaster but that was already known knowledge so don't worry about it,” Keefe picks up a cookie and brushes off some crumbs onto the floor before taking a bite,
“You know you have to pay for that right?” I ask him, he responds by reaching into his pocket and pulling out a few dollars, and putting them on the counter before finishing his snack,
“Anyway Amy’s right-” Dex starts to say but I interrupt “Hey”
“Not the part where she was insulting you I mean the part about it going well,”
I hear two sets of footsteps behind me and am about to stand up before I recognize the shoes,
“Um, quick question, why is one of my daughters sitting on the floor like she just completely flunked a school project and why is one of my other daughters looking like she's enjoying it?” my mom says,
“Sophie talked to a girl then promptly shutdown and Amy is either revaling in her sister’s embarrassment or genuinely excited for Sophie because the girl said she would call Sophie,” Keefe tells my parents,
“Oh that makes sense, wait you don't work today why are you here?” Grady asks
“I'm always here, plus it's still too cold to start surfing,” Keefe states,
“Oh, that reminds me one of your surfboards is still upstairs with some wax, in case your looking for it,” my mom tells him,
“Thanks, I’ve been wondering where it was, I can bring it back over to my place in a few days if that's okay,”
“Of course, your stuff can stay up there for as long as needed,”
Keefe’s face breaks into a smile and I stand up wiping dust off my jeans,
“Alright well you kids should get going, your shifts are over and you guys should have lives outside of this building,” my dad tells us,
“Hey do either of you have notes from Ms. Talle’s class?” Dex asks,
“I think I have some over on Sophie’s desk but I'm not sure if they're very clear,” Keefe responds rifling through a few pieces of paper, the three of us are on my bed doing homework and studying while Amy goes to Jensi’s,
“How are these not clear they’re better than ninety percent of mine, this is one of the benefits of having two best friends that are at the top of our grade,” Dex says after finding the right one of Keefe’s notebook,
“That is why you hang out with us, for our notes,” I laugh and look to my phone,
“She probably hasn't texted yet because she’s busy,” Keefe says,
“Or she doesn't want to appear to forward so is waiting a few hours, don't stress about it,” Dex adds on,
“I'm not thinking about Biana,” I say a bit too defensively,
“That was the fifth time you've checked your phone in half an hour what else could you possibly be waiting for?” my cousin continues,
“The end of the world,” I state, when a beep interrupts my thoughts I grab my phone in record time that probably just proves my friend's point,
“Hi it's Biana from the Calla’s I guess I just wanted to say hi, so hi”
“She texted me!” my voice is definitely higher than it normally is,
“We told you she would, are you going to text her back?” Keefe asks,
“I don't know, I mean she waited a few hours before texting me should I do the same thing? Or did she wait because her phone died or something and is now waiting for me to respond like I was waiting for her, but what if I respond too quickly and she finds it weird,”
“Please stop spiraling it's stressing me out, and respond to her whenever you want because either you are the only person in this world who can worry like you do or this girl is worrying just like you and when you two go on a date you can laugh at yourselves,” Dex says still looking down at his textbooks, he has listened to about five years worth of my anxiety and knows when I really need comfort this not being one of those times apparently,
“I say text her you’re available now so use your free time,” Keefe says, he is basically sitting the opposite way as Dex, sitting on his knees with his hands excitingly tapping on them, his homework completely abandoned,
“But what if-” I start,
“Stop what if-ing, text the girl you can’t stop thinking about,” Dex interrupts while moving our books to the side realizing we're not going to be getting any more work done.
“Fine,”  there’s annoyance in my voice even though I’m happy someone is convincing me to do it,
“Here it is, already unlocked and all ready to go,” Keefe hands me my phone,
“What should I say?” I ask them,
“I don't know, I have had very few crushes in my life,” Dex says,
“Oh I have no clue what to say to girls, and for guys, I'm not the one who usually starts conversations,” Keefe adds looking between us,
“So between the three of us, we have little to no experience when it comes to flirting?” I say,
“Exactly,” Dex tells me,
“Hey, didn’t you ask out Marella though?” Keefe asks,
“Not exactly, we were partnered in a science class and somehow a study session turned into a date,”
“Wow we're great at this,” My cousin says sarcastically,
“Definitely, we’re the best choice for dating advice, so just tell her that you have been thinking about her or something, it's probably not as complicated as were acting,” Keefe tells me,
“Yeah your probably right,” I say,
“Hey, when are you coming back with the mac and cheese?” Keefe shouts from upstairs, i’m cooking a quick dinner while my parents are out on a date and Dex and Keefe decided to stay the night while Amy is at Jensi’s.
“Almost done,” I respond leaning out through the doorway, I pull out my phone drafting up another text for Biana, finally just sending a simple response of
Hey Biana really happy you texted me,
Before putting away my phone trying not to stress about it while balancing three bowls of Mac and Cheese. Walking up the stairs I feel a vibration from my back pocket and smile to myself, maybe she really is just excited about this as I am.

A Bitch of a Smile
Part Four of All's Fair in Casa Amor
read it on AO3 | chapter written by @crimswnred
Night three in the Villa. Tensions are high and the desperation is real as it's the last night for any of the girls to make an impression.
| Part One | Part Two | Part Three |
Tumblr media
Bobby adjusted the black baseball cap on his head and climbed down the stairs, watching as Rahim and Shannon whispered to each other and looked pretty cosy together on the tiny sofa. Next to them, Siobhan tried a conversation with Noah and Henrik but only the latter looked really interested in the talking. He chuckled to himself, knowing damn well that with video or not, there was no chance in hell that Noah would actually bring a girl back.
He, on the other hand, was feeling free as a bird. Marisol looked like she was switching and good for her. She shouldn't feel as if she owed something to him and he for sure didn't want her to feel bad or guilty about him being single, so, in total respect for their friendship, Bobby was willing to go out and really try with these girls…
Oh, who was he kidding? He liked Astrid, that was all.
It was funny if anything. Throughout these two first weeks on the show, he hadn't felt a single flame. Not even a tiny spark. He had kissed some girls but there was never more than it. They turned out to be his mates, in the end, a pure stroke of bad luck. But in less than three days, Astrid had made him feel good again. She was flirty, beautiful and seemed to be really into him – even the other guys were telling him so. If she was playing the game, she was damn good at it and he was willing to let himself be played.
Deciding to take a chance this time, Bobby strolled onto the lawn, eyes searching for her as a smile grew on his face. Tonight, he would truly flirt with her, without averting her eyes and, who knows, maybe he should kiss her again.
No. He would kiss her.
But before he could find her, he felt a hand pulling the hem of his shirt. He stopped, then turned, only to find Emily smiling bashfully at him.
"Do you mind if we go for a chat?"
He looked over his shoulder, still unsure. In the end, he turned back to Emily and nodded. "Sure," he said, following her to the swings.
"So," she said as she sat down next to him. "I've noticed that you look a little… torn between Astrid and me, and I get it. It's not a fun choice to make but–..."
Wait, wait, wait. "What?" Bobby stopped her, for sure a puzzled look finding his face. "I'm sorry but where did you get this impression?"
She tilted her head, confused. "I'm sorry, all the girls have been saying… Am I wrong?"
He didn't know where, how, when. Did he say something wrong? Were there ever misleading moments? He tried to remember it. The boys were under the impression he would bring Emily back and, yes, he had been friendly with her. Did he somehow overstep? Maybe led her on?
"Yeah, listen, Emily…" He turned his body to her, trying his best not to frown or look anything but sympathetic. He should make this right. "You're a really nice girl. You're fun, extroverted, the centre of the party and any guy would be lucky to have you. Like, look at you, right? You're flames. The thing is…"
But before Bobby could explicitly tell her he was not interested, she kissed him.
She closed the stupidly big gap between them so fast that he wasn't able to process it until he realised he had spent too much time kissing someone he didn't even like. As if lightning had struck him, Bobby jumped from his seat, breaking the kiss and looking at her with wide eyes and a long face. He was shocked, stunned. What the fuck?
"W-Where did this come from?"
Emily frowned and cocked her head back, the pure confusion drawn all over her face. Oh, god, he had fucked this up so badly. She liked him, didn't she? And he let her believe he felt the same.
"I thought…" she stood, taking a step towards him, who took one back, almost instinctively. "Did I do something wrong?"
His heart sank. His stomach turned. Fuck. Bobby raised one hand to his forehead, pressing his fingertips against his skin. His head hurt.
"You did nothing wrong, I just…" he sighed, trying to find his words and make them look better. Fuck. He had done this. It was his fault. And now he couldn't even properly do this. "Emily, I'm so sorry."
She looked down at her feet, shoulders slumped. "Is this about Marisol?" She asked with a tiny voice.
He wanted to explain it but nothing got out. Instead, he stayed there in silence, hanging his head and stuffing his hands in his pockets.
"Astrid, then?" She asked again.
He raised his head, making the terrible mistake of looking her in the eye. There was more than sorrow in them now. Anger. Disappointment. Resentment.
"I'm so sorry." It was the only thing he could say now. "It was not my intention to make it seem like there was something there for me. I'm sure one of the other guys will treat you so much better than I ever would."
Emily stood, one hand at her hip. She looked shocked. Incredulous. She rolled her eyes, staring at him with a scowl. Everything reminded him of what he had done. "It's fine, Bobby, no need to play nice now." She huffed, crossed her arms and pushed past him. "I don't need your bullshit."
He turned on his heels to watch her leave the swings, going directly towards Siobhan, who was now hanging out with Shannon inside. Bobby sighed, kicking the lawn and hanging his head back.
Astrid.
His eyes searched for her again. He needed to tell her what happened. If Emily and the other girls thought he was somehow interested in Emily, there was a great chance Astrid also believed that too. He needed to tell her what happened. For better or worse.
Bobby walked down the lawn, this time straight to Astrid who was sitting on the daybeds alongside Noah, both of them laughing loudly – or at least, the loudest Bobby had ever heard Noah laugh. She had one hand supporting herself behind her as she leaned back and hung her head. Noah, on the other side, was looking down at his own feet, shaking his head with a grin and lingering laughter on his lips. Their knees were nonchalantly touching, the sight making Bobby's stomach flip.
Because I haven’t thought about it, Noah had told them just this morning when they were talking about switching. Now, Bobby was left wondering what he meant.
Before he noticed what he was doing, Bobby reached them, hugging Astrid from behind and letting his arms fall over her torso. She tilted her face upwards, looking and smiling widely at him. His heart fluttered and the butterflies showed up again, his head feeling light.
"I thought you'd never join us!" She said, resting her hands over his arms and squeezing them.
"Had to find this new cap," he responded, a smirk working on his lips. "How do I look, lass?"
He wiggled at her and she giggled, blushing. "I knew it would look cute on you."
Bobby chuckled, resting his chin on her head and bringing her closer before he tickled her and she broke into a feverish fit of laughter. He had almost forgotten Noah's presence if it wasn't for the taller boy insisting on clearing his throat and bursting their little bubble.
"Is it ok if I stole Astrid for a chat, Noah?" Bobby asked him.
Noah looked embarrassed at Bobby's request. He stood, smoothing his jeans. "Yeah, sure, I was just about to leave anyway, gotta find Rahim."
"I'm pretty sure he's still snogging Shannon's face off," Astrid said, nodding back to the Villa.
"Yeah, probably… anyway, thanks for the chat, A."
A. Bobby scowled watching Noah leave but in the end, he decided to leave it as it was. He had had too much emotion for a single day. There was no need for getting himself into additional problems.
He still had to tell Astrid about Emily.
Oh boy.
"Wanting to be alone with me, then, Bobs?" She said as soon as Noah was out of earshot, tilting her face back to face him.
Bobby broke their hug, sitting with her on the bed – the same one they had been sharing since the first day of Casa. His eyes wandered off to the Villa as his head tried to work the words out. He needed to be more assertive and needed to play this right. The boys were right, after all. He couldn't let this opportunity go to waste. Not because of the game but because he liked her.
He liked Astrid.
So much.
"Something happened…"
Astrid's face screwed itself to a confused one and then, a concerned one. "Is everything ok?"
His heartbeat raced. It was going so fast now that he was sure it would escape his chest at any given time.
"So…" breathe in, breathe out, he bit his lips and closed his eyes. "Emily kissed me." He burst out, so fast that it almost felt like the words were capable of burning his tongue. He wasn't sure if she heard it and he wasn't going to repeat it.
Silence.
He shut his eyes tighter, lowering his head.
Oh, he had fucked this up already.
Without knowing it, he started explaining himself. "It was so fast. I was talking to her, she told me she was into me and wanted to know if there was something between us. I got so confused 'cause for me… 'cause for me there never was. So, I tried to tell her that but she kissed me. I swear I broke it off and turned her down as soon as I realised."
Her voice was steady, a little more serious than he was now used to hearing it.
"Why are you telling me this?"
There it was, the chance he had begged for all summer, slipping through his fingers.
With all his might, he tried to grab and keep it. He raised his head again and locked eyes with her, before confessing. "Because I like you."
But then the weight of her hands found him, the warmth of her skin emanated to him and she squeezed his hands.
"What did she tell you?" Astrid asked him with a soft voice. Almost concerned. "You seem worried."
"That the girls were commenting that… that we had something going on? I don't know what I've done to make her see something between us but I feel like pure shite now."
Astrid slipped her right hand over his, locking their fingers. "Bobby, hey, Bobby," she called, making him look at her again. "No need to worry. You've done nothing wrong. She was the one telling people you'd take her back, not the other way around. All she wants is to be part of the main Villa. She's playing the game."
"You think so?"
"Yeah, I do," she nodded promptly. "Annnnnd I like you too," she giggled, scooching closer, allowing him to take a look at her beautiful face. Was he dreaming? It felt like dreaming. "I had a feeling she'd try something tonight. Actually, it's a relief that she only tried it now…"
"I should've put an end to it as soon as I figured I wasn't interested," he huffed.
She nodded. "At least that's over with now." Astrid pulled a face, making him chuckle.
"Ah! I feel silly now. Thought you'd make me sleep alone tonight!"
He propped himself onto one of his elbows, turning his body to her as if he was shielding them from the rest of the Villa. She did the same, mirroring his pose with a smile.
“But I must say, it takes a lot of balls to kiss you while you're wearing my cap."
He chuckled at that, shaking his head. "I guess she was too eager." He said, with his signature boyish grin and a half-shrug.
Astrid gasped, shoving him. "Oh, now you're just getting cocky."
"A pretty girl just told me she liked me, it's hard not to gain an ego boost," he said, leaning closer to her.
"Boy, you better stop calling me pretty before I believe it."
"Oh," he frowned, tilting his head as his grin turned to a mischievous one. "Did you think I was talking 'bout you? I meant Emily." She gasped again, her mouth shaping into an 'O' before she stood. "Too soon?"
"You shall face my fury now, Bobby McKenzie!"
And with that, she threw herself over him, rolling him over and pushing him back to the mattress while her hands tickled him all over, making him roar with laughter. In a second, she was straddling him, her long blonde hair like a curtain over their faces as she locked their gazes and rested their foreheads together, both panting and smiling at each other with hearts racing in sync.
Her eyes flickered from his eyes to mouth and eyes again. "I might keep you like this all night," she whispered, brushing their lips slightly before intertwining both of their hands together and bringing them over his head. He couldn't help but smirk when she winked. "As a punishment."
"Please, don't threaten me with a good time," he told her back before capturing her lips with his own.
Kissing her was his new favourite thing. He could taste the cheap champagne, could feel her hands cupping his face and see the smile of approval that she had once his own hands were resting on each side of her waist. Surely, there was nothing better in the world than this, not that he was aware of.
Astrid let a sigh escape her, welcoming his tongue inside her mouth. In an almost instinct, Bobby brought her closer, causing her to spread her legs even further over him, the friction of his jeans and the lace of her underwear being the only thing separating them. God, it had been a while…
"Oi! You two lovebirds," Gary shouted from nowhere, making Astrid pull back and look up. "Get a room, will ya?"
She rolled over him, giggling furiously as she burrowed her face in the crook of his neck and he hugged her, hoisting them up and helping her stand before he turned to Gary and flashed him the cockiest of smiles and shouted back: "No need to ruin it for me just 'cause you're not getting some!"
Gary and the boys around – Lucas, Rahim and Henrik – fell about laughing looking like a group of teenage boys that just heard the word "boob" for the first time. Bobby rolled his eyes and shook his head, circling Astrid's waist with one of his arms. "Sorry 'bout them."
"We were not very discreet so it's not like I'm shy," she grinned at him. "I might need to fix my makeup, though..."
"Yeah, sure, I'll be with the boys!" He kissed her cheek before letting her go. "See ya!"
He watched her going, hips swaying side to side, making the view from behind look almost as beautiful as the front one. She went straight to Ali, pulling her back inside the Villa but not without checking behind her shoulder, stealing a chance to take one last look at him. When they locked eyes, she threw him a kiss, to which he chuckled and sent it back. He was down bad.
When she was out of sight and, more importantly, out of earshot, he made his way to the boys in the kitchen with a bitch of a smile working on his lips. "Gary, I'll fucking kill you."
"Next time go somewhere private, my dude," Gary said between chuckles.
"Like the pantry?" Bobby shot him a glance, opening a cupboard. "Where are the crisps?"
"It's a party, Bob, where do you think?" Henrik piped in, nodding at the three bowls filled with crisps on the counter.
"Shit, I didn't notice it."
"I wonder why," Gary added making him roll his eyes, unable to hold back his smile.
"So, are you switching, then?!" Lucas questioned Bobby, raising an eyebrow at him as he grabbed some crisps. "You and Astrid seem to get along well."
"That's for me to know and for you to find out."
"He's switching, 100%." Gary nodded knowingly.
"Good for you mate," Rahim nodded, satisfied. "Good for you."
Bobby was about to say something when he heard a phone going off. He turned, looking at Lucas, who was holding his phone in his hands before he shouted. "I got a text!"
The other islanders all huddled around Lucas in less than a minute. Astrid came too, her lipstick looking way less smudged as she squeezed herself beside Bobby, who snaked both arms around her waist and brought her closer.
"Islanders, it's time for a game of beer pong! Please, head to the fire pit. Hashtag I dare you. Hashtag knowing me, knowing you."
Gary bolted out of the kitchen dragging Ali with him between laughs and the islanders followed the lead shortly after. Bobby and Astrid took their time, strolling the lawn to the fire pit slowly, hand in hand.
There was this big ping-pong table in the middle of the fire pit. They stood back while Siobhan read the rules. It was a boys versus girls game and if one of your cups was hit, you had to drink it and do whatever dare was written on the bottom. Fun, right?
The first to play were Gary and Shannon. Despite all Gary's big talk, Shannon easily scored in her first try, causing him to neck his drink and read the dare.
"Switch clothes with an islander of the opposite sex," he read it out loud before immediately throwing his shirt at Ali, making her snort.
While they switched clothes Bobby caught himself wondering if he had ever seen Gary have that much fun. Lottie would never join in with his silly jokes and the embarrassing challenges, even if he asked her for it, while Ali just seemed to… get him.
But he immediately shook the thought off his head. It was unfair to compare them like that.
The group clapped when Gary finally found a way to slide Ali's dress down his hips and even Astrid was roaring with laughter as Ali striked a pose with Gary's large jeans.
"You look ridiculous, mate," Lucas said between chuckles. "That dress is too much."
"Peak television," Henrik agreed.
"None of you can rock a dress better than Bobby," Astrid added, crossing her arms as her eyes were lit up with humour. "That was peak television."
"I'm sorry?" Gary feigned shock, looking at Astrid with his mouth in a perfect 'O'. "This, my darling," he paused, striking a pose, "it's elegance."
"Sure, sure…" She rolled her eyes playfully.
"Why don't you go then, Astrid?" Emily piped up as she picked her nails. "Since you already made yourself the centre of attention… again?"
From the corner of his eyes, Bobby watched the playfulness of Astrid's face melting as a scowl replaced it.
"At least I know how to keep my tongue inside my mouth," she said softly before turning on her heels and marching to the ping-pong table. "C'mon, who wants to face me?"
Bobby was about to join her when Henrik quickly untangled himself from the crowd of islanders and stood on the other side of her. They tried twice before Henrik finally dropped the ping-pong ball inside one of the red cups.
"Unzip someone's trousers," she read, giggling to himself and eyeing Bobby with blushed cheeks, "without using your hands."
There was a choir of "oohs" and "aahs" as Bobby smiled down to his feet with burning cheeks. He could hear her getting closer and, when he looked up again with a smile that would probably be read as cocky, she was facing him.
"Do you mind?" She whispered.
He did too. "No at all."
She winked at him and ran her fingers through her hair, before tying it up and kneeling down before him, causing the boys to go crazy. Bobby could hear them screaming and jumping up and down like crazy as himself couldn't believe that this was happening to him.
Bobby looked down at her, watching her up close as she bit down her own laugh and leaned forward, grabbing his zipper between her teeth and looking at him. His body was now stiff from the contact and a fire grew from his toes all the way up to his ears, barely letting him hear a thing around them.
She slowly brought it down, making him flinch with the slow movement. Her face was too close, her eyes were too magnetic, the moment was too intimate. And when her cheek brushed against his jeans, he felt his cock twitch, holding his breath. It had been, what? Weeks? Nearly a month? One could call it a drought.
But then she was done and up again. Standing in front of him with a mischievous smile before turning around and letting him hug her from behind as the others clapped and he burrowed his face in her hair.
"Fuuuuck me," he muttered.
And he was sure that he heard her saying, in a breath: "Later."
Bobby couldn't pay attention to the next part of the game but Rahim and Blake took too long before she finally hit his cup. He took his time, drinking slowly, time enough for Bobby to cool off and relax behind Astrid.
"Snog the islander you fancy the most and the islander you fancy the least." Rahim read out loud, staring at the bottom of his cup.
He took a look around, stopping right when he clocked Shannon. Within seconds, they were already snogging each other's faces out. Bobby hid his face on Astrid's neck laughing while the boys all wolf-whistled and chanted Rahim's name. The girls on the other hand were giggling and clapping, watching as the boys went wild.
They broke off the kiss some good time after and Rahim turned back to face the other girls. His eyes longed a bit on Astrid, who nervously played with her hair, combing them out of her back and letting it fall to the side, showing Bobby a glimpse of another tiny tattoo.
But Rahim dodged her and strolled to Siobhan, giving her a proper snog that didn't last long and didn't get that much applause and cheers from the other boys.
"Ugh, that's brutal," Astrid whispered when Bobby rested his chin against her shoulder. "Like, even if I don't like him, I was already gutted thinking he would choose me."
"I know," he said softly. "I'd feel like a mug."
"Ok, ok, that's fine," Gary clapped, grabbing the attention. "Next man in line, please!"
"Why don't we do Bobby and Emily?" Siobhan suggested as she fixed her makeup.
Bobby just shrugged and squeezed Astrid's waist before getting himself into position. Emily left the crowd, too, standing right before him. It didn't take long until she had hit one of his cups.
He grabbed his blue cup, hanging his head and letting the cheap warm beer slid down his throat all at once. He could feel the disgusting light hints of alcohol slipping under his tongue. God, who told the producers it was a good idea to let a bunch of beer out in the hot Spanish summer.
Still grimacing from the bitter taste, Bobby turned his cup upside down and read the paper glued to it out loud: "Take off all of your clothes but your underwear."
He heard clapping followed by a wolf-whistle before the girls were all chanting 'take it off' at him. He sneaked a glance at Astrid, who was laughing and chanting as she used her hands as a megaphone.
Bobby winked at her, sending Astrid into another fit of giggles while he unbuttoned his shirt. "Well, at least my pants are already half opened," he said, making the boys roar again. On the other side of the table, Emily huffed, but it was soon muffled by the rhythmic applause from the other girls.
With a smile that he couldn't drop and pink cheeks, Bobby unbuttoned his shirt and let it on the table. As he finished taking off his jeans, Henrik and Gary snuck closer and snapped his pieces of clothing out of his hands, running around the villa with them on hands as if they were flags and screaming like idiots.
"Very funny, now give it back." Bobby shouted, catching Astrid's eyes. She was smiling but the hint of humour in her face made Bobby feel self-conscious. God he was wearing boxers and converses. Not a good look.
"What?" Gary asked, taking Bobby's jeans from Henrik's hands. "This?"
And as the girls laughed, there was a huge splash on the pool as Gary came out of it, soaking wet, leaving Bobby's clothes behind.
"My dress!" Ali shouted, but by the joking tone of her voice, she was not mad at all.
Bobby laughed it off, feeling his cheeks burn a little as the boys joked about.
Astrid got closer to him, taking his attention out of the lads. "Do you want a towel?" She asked him, not louder than a whisper. "To cover."
"It's that bad, huh?" There was a smile on his lips that didn't meet his eyes.
And she sure realised it, cause she got closer, circling his waist with her arms as he did the same to her. "I mean, I would rather have the vision for myself, you know? Feels weird knowing three girls here have already kissed you and seen you half naked."
Bobby chuckled. "Not everyone had unzipped my jeans with their mouths, though."
"And I better be the only one to do so," she said, narrowing his eyes playfully at him.
Bobby was about to tell her how she was the only one he was planning letting be that close but Noah's voice interrupted him. With an apologetic look on his face, the librarian turned to them and said: "I pick Astrid."
There were a few gasps as Astrid untangled herself from Bobby and walked to Noah with a confused look over her face. Bobby watched as his friend glanced at him as fast as he turned back to Astrid to whisper something.
And before Bobby knew it, they were kissing.
The few seconds they spent like that felt like hours for him. It surely wasn't long and passionate like their kisses but it lasted longer than it should have. A bitter feeling grew on his stomach, a feeling he hated. He tried to keep his composure, sitting on the bench in front of the table, the cold of it only making him feel even more stupid with his boxers, converses and cap combo.
Suddenly he wasn't having that much fun.
When they finally parted, it was liked someone had just turned the volume of the TV up. He could hear the cheering and the claps, not so loud like the other turns but happy nonetheless.
Astrid came back to him immediately after, looking like she couldn't be bothered by Noah which surely made Bobby feel a little better. She looked at him, tilting her head with a smile that was hard to say no to and raised her eyebrow as if she was asking permission. Bobby straightened up, confused, before she sat down on his lap and kissed his cheek.
"What was that about?" He whispered, trying to distract himself from the fact her legs were brushing his boxers and that his hands were palming the skin between her top and skirt.
"He had to kiss the girl he thinks is wife material."
That stung a little. But Bobby raised his chin and smiled at her charmingly. "That checks out."
The game kept going for a while. Siobhan gave Henrik a body shot and he returned the favour on his turn, giving her a sexy massage. Blake's dare was to do a sexy crawl to the islander she fancied the most and Bobby felt relieved that his challenge was just to take off his clothes.
Ali had to suck the earlobe of the prettiest girls and she chose both Blake and Astrid – who was left with a fit of giggles and reddened face that gave Bobby some idea of what she enjoyed. And that was not the last time she stood up again that night with Lucas asking her and Blake for a three way kiss that looked more sloppy than enjoyable.
The last islander to have a challenge was Emily. She had to choose an islander to arm wrestle for a kiss on whoever they liked. Bobby didn't even have to try to guess who she was going to pick right.
"Astrid," Emily said with a disdain that didn't sit right with Bobby.
Gary and Rahim set everything up for them so it would be "as fair as possible" according to them. Bobby watched as Astrid flipped her hair back and set her elbow in place, looking pissed. And hot. Very, very, very hot.
Oh, Bobby hoped she won.
"Ready? Set. Go!" Rahim counted before letting go of their hands. The girls were cheering, the two groups really clear now. While Ali and Blake were squealing beside Astrid, Shannon and Siobhan were saying some encouraging words next to Emily.
For the most part of it, the match was pretty even. Every time one of them would get the upper-hand, the other would find a way of turning around. Until almost the very end, Bobby couldn't tell who was going to win but then Astrid glanced at him and bit her lips, forcing her arm to the side and taking Emily's with her until they touched the table.
"Astrid wins!" Rahim shouted, the boys celebrating and (half) the girls squealing. Bobby took her by the waist and twirled around.
"That's my girl!" He screamed, making her giggle.
When she was back to the ground and the celebrations had wind down, Rahim cleared his throat. "Now you have a prize to collect, miss."
Astrid laughed and, with a grin, she took Bobby's neck by the hand and kissed him full on the lips, pressing her body against his and taking a grasp of his hair. In no time, Bobby's hands were on her hips and his mouth was meeting hers again, the bitter taste of beer and the loud screams of the others taking his senses. He wanted to be taken by this moment, to be stuck right there. With their lips together, with happiness around them and with his heart beating with a feeling he hadn't felt in a good while. Over and over again.
They broke the kiss but didn't break their embrace, not until every other islander had gone to bed. Gary told him he was sorry and left hand in hand with Ali. Rahim also left together with Shannon and so did Lucas and Blake. Shiobhan and Emily left shortly after the couples, whispering to each other while Emily took a few glances back – but every time she did, Bobby just avoided her eyes.
Noah was the last one to go before them, nodding with an awkward smile. That weird feeling struck Bobby like a lightning but he gladly let it go again as he watched Noah head to the daybeds.
"We should leave too…" He told her, resting his head softly against hers.
She puckered her lips, looking at him. "Do you think if we asked Emily to sleep on the daybeds so we can sleep inside, she would?"
"After how you beat her ass?" Bobby laughed, squeezing her and making her giggle too. "I think she would tell you to fuck off."
"Probably." She nodded knowingly. "I just wish we had more… privacy, if you get me."
Oh, he did. He. Fucking. Did.
They made their way to the daybeds without hurry, chatting about the challenge and the day. She felt more at ease now than the day before, probably due to him telling her how he felt. It was absolutely not the right way to play this game of Love Island, at least not during Casa Amor but being honest was always Bobby's policy and he did believe it was the best.
After changing to their pjs, Bobby snuggled under the duvet, his usually warm body feeling the chill breeze of the night a little. His eyes followed Astrid as she tied her hair up and laid down next to him, turning to face him with a smile he couldn't help but mirror before bringing the covers under them.
"Today was fun," she whispered to him, her never resting eyes watching him with a hint of humour.
"Glad you're liking your Villa experience…" he told her as he brushed his fingertips against the soft skin of her arms nonchalantly.
"Are you?" She raised an eyebrow. "Enjoying your Casa Amor experience, I mean."
"Actually, yes." He said, looking up, then back to her. "You've made it much easier."
She opened a wide smile, an honest one, sending the butterflies right back to his stomach. Even in the darkness she was gorgeous and he could feel his body being pulled by her, racing his heartbeat, as her fingers held his neck and her thumb caressed his cheeks. Before he knew it, there was a gap so small between them all he had to do was kiss her.
So he did.
It started as sweet as their other kisses did and escalated as quickly too. All at once they were tangled under the sheet, he was leaning forward – almost on top of her –, her hands on his hair and back, his legs between hers and her camisole rolled up, exposing her hips. He could feel his heart beating fast and hard, a now familiar warmth radiating between them as he pressed their bodies together and his cock throbbed against her underwear.
And she must have felt it too, because she rolled her hips and palmed a hand against his stomach and slowly stroked her nails – down, down, down. Until she was playing with the waistbands of his shorts.
Bobby moved his lips from her mouth to her jaw and she opened it to him so he could leave a trail of wet kisses on her neck before he nibbled on her ear, earning a delicious, involuntary and low moan from her that made him want her even more.
"Found your weak spot?" He asked in a whisper against her ear.
She nodded, closing her eyes, and he could see the goosebumps it sent through her body. He moved one of his hands under her camisole, feeling her soft skin before he cupped one of her breasts and teased her already hard nipple with his fingers as he hummed with approval next to her ear.
She gasped, immediately biting down her lips in a way to keep quiet and Bobby kissed her neck again, moving his other hand to the other breast so she could also pinch and tease it too before his kisses followed the path of his hands and he had them on his mouth.
With a pop, Bobby left a nipple and moved to the other, letting his hands travel even further, until they found the black material of her underwear and she flinched, making him smirk. His fingers took their time, circling her clit carefully as his lips and tongue made their way back to kiss her.
Her hips rolled again, this time against his hands, and he took that as a plea. With both hands, he rolled her knickers down to her ankles, letting her kick it before his fingers were back to her clit and he was biting her lips.
"So fucking wet."
Astrid's mouth hung open and she frowned her brows but her chocolate eyes never left him, not even when her hips synced with the slow movement of his fingertips.
Not even when he slowly slid a finger inside her. She let out a breathy moan, doing her best to keep quiet but wanting him to watch her. That made his cock throb; lust and need almost taking over him. He wanted to fuck her so bad, he needed to fuck her. But he wanted her to cum first.
Bobby pumped into her with a slow pace before inserting a second finger. Astrid took his hair by the hands, pulling it in random movements that made him increase his speed. "Bobby…" she let out with the most beautiful voice in the world when she worked her hips on his fingers and a high pitched moan dropped from her lips.
He couldn't help but grin as she turned her back against the mattress so she could move her hips better. Like that, he found the way to her earlobe again, biting it and humming approvingly against it as he curled his fingers inside her and watched her clasping a hand over her mouth while the other pinched her own nipples.
And with a muffled moan followed by a muffled "Bobby," he felt her walls clasping around his hand and her body stiffening before it relaxed. He worked her through it, as little shock waves and goosebumps took over her.
Astrid turned to him with a smile, panting. She leaned forward, her nails brushing his skin again when they heard:
"Are you two done?" Noah asked from the other bed with a hint of humour mixed with another thing.
Bobby's eyes widened and Astrid mirrored him. The two of them kept staring at each other until Astrid finally gave in and snorted. He followed her, laughing loudly beside her as she burrowed her face on his chest and he hugged her.
"Sorry, Noah, mate!"

Next time
“You look like the feather duster from Beauty and the Beast.” He said.
Her smile turned to a thin line.
“Weirdly, I always fancied the feather duster.”
She snorted. “Come on, let’s go eat. God knows we’ve worked up an appetite this morning.”

On the next day of Eddie's parent's arrival, Eddie's sisters, aunt, Abuela, nieces, and nephews joined the party. Eddie has such a big family, and I was kinda envious of it. I never really had a big family to celebrate with me. After my dad started a family with his wife, it was only my mother and I. Every now and then, my grandmother would visit, but she and my mother didn't get along much.
Meeting Eddie's sisters was different for me. I never had the experience of living with my sister. I met my dad's other daughter maybe once or twice in my life. It's hard to call her my sister when I don't know anything about her. But seeing how happy Eddie was when his sisters showed up made me forget all those bad memories I had as a kid. It made me feel like it was time to start a new chapter in my family life.
I sat back against Eddie's kitchen counter, and I watched as one sister put him in a headlock, and the other made fun of him. Sophia, the sister making fun of him said things like "You think that because you moved, your safe?" and "Eddie's got a girlfriend". I lightly chuckled and sipped on my cup of water as I watched Eddie try to release himself from his other sister, Adriana's grasp.
"Some help, please!" Eddie yelled out, looking directly at me with pleading eyes. I continued to sip on the drink in my cup. I looked around the kitchen as if they suddenly disappeared.
Eddie called out for help one last time. Within the next few seconds, Helena walked through the kitchen swiftly and made her way to the fully plenished fridge. She opens the fridge in search of something. During her search, she calls out, "Girls, leave your brother alone." Sophia and Adriana quickly let go of their brother, causing Eddie to fall onto the floor.
Helena turns from the fridge and starts to pour the wine she found. "Edmundo, your father wants your help with the grill," She says, taking a sip of her wine. "And girls, those kids aren't gonna feed themselves. Help your mother out, and give them a Lunchable and a juice. That should hold them off until the boys are done with the food."
I watch in amazement, as the Diaz siblings scramble to their ordered task. My eyes follow the girls out of the room. As soon as I know that they're out of earshot, I scoff and turn to Helena. "Damn, I've never seen Eddie move that fast before. AND HE SAVES PEOPLE. Hmm... that says a lot.
She pours another glass of wine and passes it to me. She then turns, and leans against the counter, as if her kids weren't just running out of the room like they were in the Olympics. She doesn't turn to me. She simply takes one last sip from her cup before saying. "You seem like a great mother. I can tell Zach loves you. But Zach won't always be this cute little 4 year old, running around, imagining he's a dinosaur. He's gonna get older. And the more he gets older, the more discipline your gonna have to teach him.
Now, I nor Ramon thought Shannon was gonna be the perfect mother for Christopher. And we were right. To be honest, she did have her motherly moments with my grandson. But in the end, she left. In order to be the perfect mother or even a mother in general, you have to stay.
Now you... I'm gonna be honest again. We didn't think you were right for our Eddie either. But since I've arrived, I noticed that you're a great mother. You are not perfect, because no one is perfect. Not even me... But seeing you and your son with Eddie and Christopher, I can picture a nice little family. And you're young. You are holding yourself together, and not once did you ever give up on that little boy."
***
I held my head low, as I felt the tears slowly drip from my eyes. I knew that not all that Helena said about me was true. My chest was heavy with regret as I was reminded of those first few moments of my son's life. My breath became heavy at the remembrance of those depressing thoughts I felt when I first saw my son. At the feeling, I felt when I saw Levi every time I looked at my son.
"That's not true," I simply spoke.
Helena finally looked at me, but she was confused. "What?" she asked.
I shook my head, and I said, "No. I'm not as great as you make me out to be..." I took a deep breath, "When Zach was a week and a half old, I started to feel a sort of discomfort feeling. Every time I looked at him, I saw the features of Zach's father in him. Every feature from his eyes, to his lips, to his ears made me uncomfortable. I didn't know how I would live with a kid that looked a lot like his father, but his father was never there.
I thought that maybe this was a sign of grief, but it kept going. I began having violent nightmares, and thoughts of suicide. Like maybe the pain would go away if I ended everything, I would finally be back with Levi. I mean I was 21-years-old at the time. And even though Zach wasn't planned, Levi and I thought about a family in our future. He never did, and never will get the chance to see our dream grow.
Anyway, my mother suggested me a wonderful therapist, and she told me that the stress from that grief helped develop PPD. Hearing that, I didn't feel like Levi was safe in my care. So, I left him with my mom for 3 months, until I felt that I had gotten enough help and was ready to care for my child. So, no, I don't feel like I'm better than Sharron. I believe I'm worse for feeling the need to leave my son."
Helena sits her wine glass down and holds my shivering body. I was now crying a river. She patted my back and whispered, "You're gonna be fine." When I had finally calmed down, She pulled me out of the hug and held both of my hands in hers. For a second, her hand left mine to wipe a tear from my face, and back into its original spot. "Hey. You were young, and feeling PPD as a young mother is completely normal. You had a lot of pressure on you at that time. And guess what happened?" Helena asked in a caring tone.
"What?" I asked with a slight hiccup in my tone. The woman in front of me once again pulled her hand from mine, but this time, used it to push a strand of my hair back behind my ear. "You turned into a smart, beautiful, young lady who fought hard for her son. You did the right thing. You didn't feel Zach was safe, so you made it so Zach WAS safe. You're still here for him, and I know for a fact that you will be here for him until your last dying breath. Okay?" She asked. I nodded. She pulled me into a bone-crushing hug and wiped my tear once more before leaving me in the kitchen to rejuvenate.
***
The party ended around 11 o'clock at night. When I got myself together, my breakdown is soon forgotten by the laughter of the others around me. The kids played their games, and occasionally, Eddie and I would join in. The adults took secret photos of the BIG and little kids for their social media accounts. We later ate some delicious food that would soon cause us to pass out and wackier up to stomach aches. And finally, the LITTLE kids joined Zach and Christopher in Chris's room to play video games, while the adults ended their night with alcohol and a nice conversation.
With the day I had, I was dang near tipsy by the end. Eddie called his sisters a cab to their hotel, and he set his parents up in his spare bedroom. He only left them with, "Now, I don't want to hear you two doing anything. And remember that Chris is in the room next to you. Got it?" This resulted in a certain female's shoe getting thrown at him. Me being basically drunk, I start laughing at Eddie.
Eddie calmly walks me out of his house, ready to take me home. I then remember my son. "Where's Zach?" I asked with my slurred speech.
Eddie helps me into his truck and says, "He's sleeping. I'll drop him off tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm worried that you driving will result in another accident, so I'm gonna drive you."
"Well, why can't I stay?" I sleepily pout. Eddie sighs as he tries to buckle my seatbelt, but I slap his hand away.
He gives me a stern look before saying, "Would you really like to wake up, knowing that my parents are next door." I give him a sad puppy dog look, and he releases another sigh at my actions. "Fine." He says, helping me out of his truck, and back into the house.
He starts to bring me into his room, but we end up passing Christopher's room. Wanting one last look before bed, I stumble out of Eddie's arms and towards his son's room. I open the door to see toys all over the floor. My eyes move towards the bed, and I saw two different types of curly hair facing the wall. But those rememberable ears stuck out the most.
I smiled at the boys that slept on opposite sides of the bed comfortably. I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist and a head on top of mine. I knew it was Eddie, so I leaned back into his arms.
"They're so cute, aren't they?" I asked with a feeling of bliss.
"Yeah, they are. Every time they hang out, I see that family I've always dreamed of. I like what we have here, and I would never want to change that."
I smile at Eddie's words. He slowly pulled me from the door, and towards his room. He laid me on his bed, taking off my shoes, pants, and shirt. He then walks over to his drawer and pulled out one of his t-shirts. He walks back over to me, lifting me up so he can put the shirt on me. He lastly pulls the cover over my body, and I was instantly out.
Eddie's POV
I had just put Y/N down. She always looked so sweet and peaceful when she slept. It's been a long day for all of us, and she deserves to let loose every now and then. Now that I think about it, I've never seen Y/N drink before. She's always had juice or water. I wonder what set her off.
I felt a short vibration near my foot. I looked down to see Y/N's pants under my foot. It shook again, so I leaned down and picked them up. I followed the vibrations to find Y/N's phone in her back right pocket. I pull it out, and the phone lights up, full of missed calls and unread texts.
2 Missed Calls from Dad
2 Missed Calls from Buck 🦌
From Dad: Where are you?
From Dad: I know you probably don't want to talk to me, but I need to know your safe. We got a call from your apartment.
From Dad: I can't lose you too.
From Buck 🦌: Dude!!!
From Buck 🦌: Please tell me u r ok.
From Buck 🦌: Bobby is freaking out!
I became scared thinking about what could have happened if I had dropped Y/N off. I turned off her phone, and as soon as I put it on the nightstand for her to find tomorrow, my phone rang. I took a quick glance at Y/N as she slept quietly.
I left the room and pulled out my phone. In big bold letters, my phone said Buck. I quickly answered the phone.
"Hey, is Y/N with you? We're evacuating the building, but we couldn't find Y/N anywhere," Buck asked in a desperate tone.
"Yeah, she's asleep in my bed. What's going on?" I asked.
"Y/N was a victim of the serial bomber. There was a package on her doorstep, and I guess someone was trying to steal it, and it went off. Compared to the other victims, this bomb wasn't as big. It's almost as if the bomber was in a rush. But I'm glad Y/N's safe. Maybe now Bobby will calm down," he explained.
"Alright, Buck. Keep me updated," I told my best friend.
"Yeah," he said before hanging up.
I sighed, taking in all the information that was just given to me. I can't believe Y/N was a target.
I went back to my room and got comfortable for bed. I slid into the bed, and I just held onto Y/N. Knowing she was safe in my arms was enough for me to fall asleep.
A/N: Hey guys! I hope you're enjoying my story so far. I don't think that I ever fully described what Zach looks like. I showed the picture of how I thought Zach would look on Wattpad. Do you want the picture too, or are you fine imagining it? I do mention Levi's appearance a little bit in an earlier chapter.

The Start of Friendships
Marvin Meets Chase/Jackie Meets Jamie
Would you like me to tell you a story? Well come sit, everyone! I'm going to tell you two stories! One about how Marvin met Chase, and another about how Jackie met Jamie.
This fanfic was suggested by Shannon! I hope you enjoy the fanfic!
This is how Marvin met Chase:
We open in the town of Brighton, England. A town so pretty and filled with entertainment. And in that town walking around, was Chase Brody. Chase was simply walking the streets, trying to find somewhere to get food. He was in the middle of the Brighton Square shopping mall, and was looking at the big fountain with the dolphins and children statue on the top. It looked to be made of metal, painted black. It was…interesting to say the least.
Chase soon walked into the Espresso bar, and decided to get himself a drink. He got himself a black coffee with 2 sugars, and brought the coffee to a seat in the room. There were a collection of 6 seats around a small table in the middle. Chase decided to sit there. He placed his coffee onto the table and sighed as he looked around. It was a small coffee shop that could fit maybe 18 people in it. It was nice though. Not too cramped.
Soon, a person walked into the Espresso bar and ordered a drink. He soon got his drink and walked up to the 6 seated spot that Chase was sitting in. He soon spoke up. “Would you mind if I sat here?” The person asked.
Chase looked up at him and smiled. “I don’t mind. Go ahead!” Chase replied.
“Thanks!” The person said, sitting down across from Chase and placing his coffee on the table.
They sat in silence for a while, only making glances at each other once in a while. The person that was sitting with him seemed to have a cape around his neck. It was strange, but Chase wasn’t judging. Chase grabbed his coffee and took a few sips of it. THen he put it down and looked at the person across from him.
“What kind of coffee is that?” Chase asked him.
The person looked up and smiled a bit. “Two cream, two sugar.” The person replied.
Chase nodded in response and went back to looking around.
The person looked at Chase’s coffee. “What about you? What kind of coffee do you have?” The person asked.
Chase looked back. “Black with two sugars.” Chase replied.
The person hummed in response, and started to look around again. He looked at the fountain out of the corner of his eye, and focused on the other people that were in the coffee shop.
“You got a name?” The person asked.
Chase turned to him. “Hm?” Chase replied.
“I said: do you have a name?” the person repeated.
Chase smiled and nodded. “I’m Chase.”
The person nodded. “Cool name!” He reacted. “I’m Marvin.”
“Marvin?” Chase asked.
“Yup.” Marvin replied.
Chase smiled. “Cool.”
The boys fell into silence for a little bit. It was nice for a bit, just sitting, people watching and talking a little.
Marvin pulled out a deck of cards and started shuffling them around in his hand. He wasn’t amazing at the shuffling, but he wasn’t terrible either. Marvin was somewhere in the middle. Chase looked up at Marvin and watched him shuffle the cards. They looked like typical poker cards, like cards you’d get from Walmart.
Marvin put the cards down into 6 separate decks. He took a moment to look at Chase, and looked back down when he was ready. Marvin grabbed a random deck of cards, and grabbed one of the second decks. He grabbed a random third deck, a fourth deck, a fifth deck and a sixth deck. He flipped up the visible card on the front, and showed him. “Was this the card you were thinking of?” Marvin asked, showing him a 10 of diamonds.
Chase widened his eyes. “Uhh…” Chase looked at the card and looked away. “Yeah…It was.” Chase replied. “Wait, how did you know that?” Chase asked.
Marvin chuckled. “I can read your mind.” Marvin told him.
Chase raised an eyebrow with a smirk. “You’re a magician?” Chase asked.
Marvin nodded. “Indeed I am! Marvin the Magnificent.” Marvin replied.
Chase laughed. “Marvin the Magnificent…Wow.” He reacted.
Marvin smirked and pulled out his wand.
Chase laughed more. “And what’re you gonna do with that? Make a bunny pop out of a hat?” Chase asked.
Marvin chuckled. “I’m not wearing a hat, Chase. Not yet, anyway.” Marvin told him.
Chase chuckled. “Then what are you gonna do?” Chase asked.
“.......I was showing you that I have a wand too.” Marvin told him bluntly.
Chase bursted out laughing. “Oh! Okay!”
Marvin chuckled. “I mean, I can do this.” Marvin tapped the wand onto his own hand. Suddenly, a bunch of feathers popped out of the top of the wand!
Chase raised an eyebrow. “I thought it was supposed to be flowers?” Chase asked.
Marvin giggled. “I can do that too.” Marvin told him. “And why? Are you scared of a few feathers?” Marvin teased.
Chase tilted his head. “No. Why?” Chase asked.
Marvin shoved the feathers into Chase’s face for fun. Chase laughed and pushed the feathers away from his face. “Stahap it! Marvin!” Chase laughed.
“Sorry! I couldn’t resist.” Marvin admitted.
Chase laughed a little bit more. “Ahalright, sir. You’ve had your fun.” Chase teased.
“Have I now?” Marvin asked.
Chase smirked and stood up. He started slowly circling Marvin’s chair like a predator would to his prey.
Marvin started to grow a little worried. “What…What are you planning?” He asked nervously.
“Oh nothing…except for THIS!” Chase grabbed Marvin’s sides and started tickling them. Marvin gasped and threw his head back as he laughed happily in the seat. Marvin kicked his feet and tried to stop Chase, but it was mostly fruitless. He just had to take it like a man.
Chase soon stopped as he realized how much noise they were making. Chase removed his hands from Marvin’s sides, and sat down in his own seat again. Marvin started to calm down, and pull himself together again. “What-” Marvin straightened himself up. “What was that for?! In a coffee shop, of all places?” Marvin reacted.
Chase laughed. “Sorry! I couldn’t resist.” Chase said, repeating the words Marvin had said earlier.
Marvin gasped and narrowed his eyes at him with an evil smirk. “Oh you little-” Marvin stopped his words. “You’re lucky we’re in a coffee shop. Otherwise, I would’ve totally got you back.” Marvin told him.
“Didn’t stop me.” Chase said with a smirk.
Marvin chuckled and pulled out his phone. “Did you wanna…walk around the mall together?” Marvin asked.
Chase widened his eyes and sat up. “Really?” Chase asked.
“I mean…You’re a pretty cool guy, and I wanna hang out with you more.” Marvin admitted.
Chase smiled. “I’d love to!” Chase replied.
Marvin smiled brightly. “Great!”
And so, the two boys spent almost 4 hours looking in stores at the mall together. They would later get each other’s contact information so they could put together other hang out days. It was quite the interesting way to start a friendship, to say the least. But it was a great friendship. Years later, Marvin would end up living with Chase in a house together. And that was like a million sleepovers! It was the greatest idea they ever came up with. And they would carry on being friends for a long time afterwards.
Now this is how Jameson Jackson met Jackieboy Man:
Jamie was laying on a hammock in the backyard. He had been reading a book for about 2 hours now. He was getting ready to go back inside, when he accidentally dropped the book. He reached down through the hammock strings to try and get it. Though it was a little tight, he was able to get his upper arm into the strings. He managed to reach and grab the book, but he realized his mistake:
How was he gonna get the book through the hammock strings?
Jamie dropped the book on the ground again, and tried to get his hand out of the hammock. But…his arm was stuck in the hammock! Jamie pulled on his arm, but struggled to get it out.
Well this was just great…
Jamie chuckled awkwardly and tried to get his arm out with his other hand. He reached down into the hammock, only the lower arm this time, and tried to remove the knotted hammock strings from his upper right arm. But he couldn’t reef it off. After a few more tugs, he growled and tried pulling again.
But amidst his pulling, his foot managed to fall through the hole and get stuck in the ropes! Jamie widened his eyes as he realized his foot was in there. He could feel the rope around his lower leg. And with the gravity pushing down on his leg, it was just slipping further and further in. Jamie mentally cursed to himself and wiggled around helplessly. Then he flipped himself around and silently yelped as he spun upside. His stuck leg was now in the air, alongside his stuck arm. It wasn’t uncomfortable or painful…but it was very annoying.
He pulled on his arm further and let out a few audible grunts. How could he have gotten himself stuck like this?! ‘Come on, man! Get your ass outta here!’ Jamie thought mentally.
“Well look at what we have here!” Someone said. “Is someone perhaps stuck and in need of assistance?” Someone continued.
Jamie looked around and grumbled as he tried to pull himself out.
“It looks like that person does!” The person reacted, flying down to look at them. “Worry not, my liege! I will make sure you get out of here without a single grass stain on those very nice pants.” The person declared, lowering himself down to the ground. “Jackieboy Man is on the case of the tangled dapper boy!” The person (apparently known as jackieboy Man) declared in front of him, his cape flowing to the side in the wind.
Jamie stared at him. Was that…a red onesie with a hood? And a face mask you get for kids at a costume store?! And…blue boots? The blue boots were the only thing on him that looked serious. Everything else was just hilarious!
Jamie wheezed and slapped his leg as he laughed. But the only sound that was coming out of his mouth was long episodes of wheezing, and short moments of breathing.
“Wha- Hey! Don’t laugh at me!” Jackie ordered. “Do you even know how rude that is?! I’m a casual superhero who is offering to help you out of your hammock…and you are just laughing at me despite your lack of voice!” Jackie reacted. “Oh! And by the way, are you nonverbal, by any chance?” Jackie asked.
Jamie smiled brightly as he was laughing, and nodded his head before another long wheeze left his mouth.
Jackie hmphed angrily. “And to think you would’ve been a kind person…a more polite man…” Jackie muttered.
Jamie shook his free hand and signed the word ‘sorry’ before he held his chest as he laughed.
Jackie gasped. “You speak sign language!” He reacted. “Awesome! I do too!” He reacted as he signed the words ‘I do too’ towards Jamie.
Jamie slowly started to calm down and beamed at the look of a superhero knowing sign language. The only superheros to ever know sign language were Deadpool and Hawkeye! And now Jackie…Jackieman boy?
“My sign for my name is this:” Jackie brought out his pinkie, and did the J symbol. Then, he pointed to his face mask with the same pinkie.
Jamie tried it out and nodded with his lower lip out. It wasn’t a bad sign for your name. It was a cool way to sign it.
Then, Jamie pulled on his arm again, and lowered his head as he realized he would have to sign with one hand. So, he stuck his thumb up, raised it up a few inches in front of his face, and then pointed to himself, to sign the words ‘Help me’.
“Well of course! That’s exactly what I do, my liege!” He declared. “But first I need your name!” Jackie declared.
Jamie nodded and signed the letters J-A-M-I and E to spell out his name.
But Jackie only partly got his name. “Can I just call you Jay?” Jackie asked.
Jamie shrugged and nodded.
“Okay. I’ll try and get you out now.” Jackie decided.
Jackie grabbed under Jamie’s left armpit, and pulled. But when nothing budged, he tried removing the tightrope from around his upper arm. But even that was no use! “Huh…” Jackie flew to the leg and tried pulling on the rope to get it out. But that was fruitless as well. “Looks like you’re really stuck.”
Jamie lowered his head in embarrassment. The fact that he had to be helped by some random person with a cape on, meant he really screwed himself over.
Jackie lifted up Jamie, lifted himself up to fly, and started pulling upwards to the sky to get him out. He pulled and pulled and pulled. But it was just no use. Jackie put Jamie back upside down and sighed. “I’ll see if I can find a pair of scissors to cut the ropes.” Jackie decided.
Jamie widened his eyes and waved his hand left and right rapidly. He said ‘don’t!’ and tried to pull his arm out himself.
“No to the scissors? Are you that desperate to save the hammock?” Jackie asked.
Jamie looked at him and nodded.
“Of all the things to be devoted to…” Jackie muttered. Then he looked at Jamie…and looked at the way he was tied up all stuck.
And then he smirked.
“Should I remind you of the downsides of being stuck like this?” Jackie asked.
Jamie raised an eyebrow, growing confused. He shrugged his shoulders.
“There is one downside I can think of right off the top of my head…a downside that would make cutting the hammock a mercy move.” Jackie told him.
Jamie blinked, unsure.
Jackie walked closer to Jamie and wiggled his fingers evilly.
This was the moment that Jamie started desperately trying to get himself out. But Jackie was getting closer and closer to him! Jamie grunted and pulled on the rope around his arm with all his might. But Jackie got even closer to him, and was inches away from tickling his armpit.
Jamie finally threw his free arm out and tried to block him. But sadly for Jamie, Jackie was able to grab the free arm and move it out of the way. With the free hand out of the way, the other hand went right to tickle Jamie’s armpit.
Jamie’s eyes widened to the size of saucers almost immediately. He squeezed his eyes shut and gritted his teeth as he pulled at both his restrained arm, and his trapped arm. His trapped arm was stuck in the rope in a way that forced his arm to stay open and vulnerable. And if he tried to close his arm, the rope would stop it. Jamie was utterly screwed. There was just nothing he could do but take it!
“I know we just met, and this is a little unusual to be doing to a trapped victim. However, I need to convince you to let me cut you free somehow.” Jackie told him.
With both his arms incompacitated, Jamie was unable to sign. Well…technically he could, but the one-handed signing was out of Jackie’s field of vision. So Jamie just took the tickles and tried to get himself out.
Jackie tickled his side next, seeing what ticklish spot got the dapper man squirming the most. The sides seemed to be a good spot to go to. Compared to the armpit, anyway. And the stomach seemed to make Jamie move around the most! So, Jackie tickled there for a little while.
Jamie finally let his breath out and wheezed. He inhaled again and started to silently laugh through his big, wobbly smile. Jackie visibly brightened up upon seeing Jamie finally let go and just laugh. It was so satisfying to see the man laugh amidst his predicament!
“Kitchy kitchy koo, little Jay!” Jackie teased.
Jamie was signing the word ‘No’ on the side, trying to wiggle himself out. But it was pointless. He was stuck here.
That was, unless he let him cut the hammock.
But he loved this hammock! And hammocks are not cheap these days!
So Jamie just took the tickles for a little longer.
“I will admit, you’re taking this a lot better than I thought you would! Some people would be ordering me to cut the rope before I even reach them! But nope! Not Jay Jay!” Jackie reacted.
Jamie shook his head and accidentally knocked his bowler hat off his own head. His brown, short hair was now visible for Jackie to see.
And then Jackie reached a SUPER ticklish spot on him: His belly button!
Jamie looked down at his stomach and quickly threw his head back with his mouth wide open. His head leaned to the right side as his whole body convulsed with laughter.
“WOW! Looks like I’ve hit the jackpot!” Jackie declared.
Jamie was signing the word ‘No’ over and over again at this point, even signing it with his other hand as he pulled and pulled on his arms. He was mentally begging him to just let him go! He needed to be free! All he wanted to do today was read a damn book!
Jackie finally stopped tickling the poor man. He removed his fingers and let go of Jamie’s free hand. “Are you okay with me cutting you free with scissors now?” Jackie asked.
Jamie was breathing rather heavily as he tried to recover. He slowly started to calm down. When he was calm enough, Jamie did the sign for scissors, by opening and closing his index and middle fingers.
Jackie smiled proudly and pulled a pair of scissors out of his own pocket. “Sounds great!” Jackie cut the hammock rope off his arm, effectively freeing his arm.
Jamie smiled as his arm slid right out. But he was growing woozy from being upside down for so long. Jackie noticed this and quickly lifted him up. He cut the rope that was around his leg, and lowered Jamie to the ground. Jamie flopped onto the ground, exhausted from being upside down AND tickled at the same time. Jackie brought himself onto his feet on the ground, and walked up to Jamie. “What do you say I buy you a new hammock? See it as a way to apologize for tickling you so much.” Jackie offered.
And so Jamie ended up getting a really nice fabric hammock from a rather expensive, but good quality store. Jamie got to pick out the pattern he wanted, and Jamie even got a little embarrassed when Jackie was getting asked for autographs by many types of people. Not only did he get a new hammock, but Jackie even took the time to help him set it up! When it was all ready, Jamie waved off Jackieboy Man, and made a heart with his hands as he flew away.
Jamie ended up using that hammock for a long while. And once in a while, Jackie would stop by to say hi and hang out with Jamie on his work days off. Overtime, their status would reach friendship and they would end up becoming close friends.
And that was it! That was how 4 separate people became 2 pairs of friends. And the friendship numbers would only grow from then on.

Response to an ask from Ophelia:
Hello to you too!! You're not bothering me at all; you are allowed and welcome to send me asks!
It sucks that you're not doing great, but please know that there's no limit on the amount of venting you're allowed to do. Just because you've vented before doesn't mean you have to hold back later. I do understand not wanting to talk about dark topics though, so I respect your decision. I just wanted to be clear that venting is okay :)
When it comes to daydreaming, of course you can rant about it!! I'd love to hear anything you're willing to share. Hearing about other people's daydream worlds is so cool, and three essays worth of information isn't too much at all! I mean, if you've seen my blog you've probably realized that nearly everything I do is long so truly length doesn't bother me, especially when you're talking about something you're interested in. Side note: paracosm might be the word you're looking for!
I don't think your daydream world is stupid for not being profound or interesting. They don't have to be to meaningful or to have value or to be enjoyed. And don't worry, you're not pressuring me to say yes! I'm saying yes because I want to.
I am doing fairly alright at the moment! Big change in schedule that I'm adjusting to but I think everything will work out. Also I saw your response to the uquiz!! I can see all the things everyone put, so I saw what you put at the end, which was very interesting. Where I live all the houses are very much the same and like copies of each other. In my neighborhood its like they created a handful of house blueprints and choose a handful of different exteriors and then just mixed and matched. There's multiple other houses that have the same layout but just a different color or brick or something.
Also you just reminded me that I still haven't posted all the possible results for the uquiz! I've been meaning to do that but keep forgetting (cause shifting schedule and brain). And thank you, that's very kind of you <33. I think I can better express myself in words and there are!! so mny words I can use!! like plethora and aforementioned and jargon and hostility and intrepid and dastardly. that's off topic but essentially thank you!!
!! Don't worry I believe you! I remember the Glimmer is Eleanor theory! It's an interesting one because there's so much we don't know about the two of them, and it leaves them open for a lot of theories. I'm very curious to learn more about them, so thank you for sending in the original ask! it prompted a lot of thought and questions (in a good way).
Also I don't know if this would help assuage any of your worries, but I try to consider all asks seriously and don't think any theory is stupid. Some may be more founded, more plausible, more entertaining, more chaotic, etc. But none are stupid! And so far everyone else who interacts with my blog has had the same respect when interacting with various theories I go through.
I am curious to learn more about Eleanor as well, so I'm hoping we get some information in the next book! I mean Shannon went to the effort of including her, so I wonder what impact she'll have. I feel like just "it shows Gisela is ruthless cause she'd kill a child!!" is fair, but it also feels...like there should be more to it? If you know what I mean.
Also very nice to have latched onto a character that we know very little about and has almost no mention!! I am the same way but with Brielle, Grady's dead bodyguard. I even drew her once, though it was before we had official art of goblins and I didn't draw her hair as curly as it is (shameful, considering I have curly hair /lh).
thank you for being so incredible; i'm very...fuzzy. light pink. buzzy spring, to have you in my life! that sentence is probably incomprehensible but it is what it is!
I hope you also have a tolerable day, it was very nice to hear from you again <33

Buddie + 3? I'm living vicariously through you and several others with this ship ^^;
Valentine’s day at the firehouse always sucked, in Buck’s humble opinion. His last few had been miserable (the date with Abby was nice, the impromptu tracheotomy not so much). And now that Bobby was married, suddenly Buck was one of the last single people on their shift.
“Oh cheer up, Buck,” Hen teased as she caught sight of his moping face. “You’re not the only single person in the firehouse this year.”
She then sent a significant glance towards Eddie’s back and Buck didn’t know whether or not to be sad or comforted. He settled on sad, giving Hen the briefest acknowledgement, before returning to staring at the back of Eddie’s LAFD shirt bearing his name.
The thing was bothering Buck most, however, was that he knew Eddie wasn’t supposed to be single.
Eddie was supposed to be spending this Valentine’s day with Shannon. But that option had been taken from him in the most tragic way. Not only had Shannon asked for a divorce, but she’d been hit by a car. Eddie hadn’t even had a chance to make things right before Shannon was gone. It wasn’t fair.
Before Buck could spiral further into his own thoughts of tragedy, self-pity, and sadness -- both for himself and for his best friend slash unrequited love -- Eddie turned and offered Buck a beaming smile that sunk right into his heart.
“Hey Buck,” Eddie greeted, slapping Buck on the shoulder with a hand and giving it a gentle squeeze -- an act reminiscent of a day in the not too distant past where Eddie had broken through the final lock on Buck’s heart. “Have any plans for today?”
Buck shrugged. “Oh, you know, pizza and Star Trek. It’s really just another day when you’re single.”
“True that!” Chimney called from the balcony, and a there was a swell of chuckles that followed. When the echoes died out, as they finished bouncing around the spacious concrete structure, Eddie turned back to Buck with those hyperfocused eyes.
“There’s nobody in this world I trust with my son more than you.”
“So why don’t you come over and do pizza and Star Trek with me and Christopher? We can make it a boy’s night. I’ll even spring for beers.”
Buck’s heart lurched in his chest and then quickly shifted into fluttering almost painfully as a tiny bubble of hope rose up. He tried desperately to quash it and play off his agreement with nonchalance. “Oh, yeah, sure! That sounds great. I’ll bring the pies.”
Eddie gave that heartwarming half smile that sent Buck’s heart into a tizzy as he clapped Buck’s shoulder one last time. “Sounds great. See you at six?”
“Yeah,” Buck dry swallowed. “Six.”
As Eddie’s retreating back disappeared out of sight, Buck heard a faint clicking. He turned to his left and saw Chim and Hen with their arms crossed, Hen with her head bowed as she shook it back and forth, clicking her tongue.
“Boys,” she muttered with heavy exasperation.
Chimney nodded sagely at her side. “You said it.”
---
Buck pulled up to Eddie’s house at 6:03 PM after having showered and shaved (slightly), with piping hot pizza from Giovanni’s, the small local restaurant that was only ten minutes from Eddie’s place and was an immediate favorite of Christopher’s. There were two boxes -- one, a standard combination pizza for Eddie and Buck, and a smaller pepperoni and mushroom pizza for Christopher.
Knocking once for an air of politeness, Buck shouldered open the door with a practiced ease. “I’ve got pizza!” he called into the apartment. There was an immediate flurry of noise as Christopher came barreling down the hall as fast as his crutches would carry him before he collided hard with Buck’s midriff.
“Buck!” Christopher was chanting, hugging Buck tightly. “Buck! Buck! Buck!”
“Hey, buddy!” Buck slid the pizza boxes onto Eddie’s counters before reaching down to envelop his favorite kid in a tight, protective hug. One hand landed on the back of Christopher’s head the way it had when he’d pulled Christopher from the water all those months ago. All Buck wanted to do was wrap Christopher up in his arms and keep him safe forever, but experience had taught him that you couldn’t wrap up kids in bubble wrap.
“Buck! It’s boy’s night!” Christopher crowed happily before detaching himself from Buck and moving back into the living room. “Gonna watch Star Trek with us, Buck?”
“You know it!” Buck grinned, glancing up as Eddie entered from the hallway with a soft smile. Buck’s heart did a backflip. Eddie’s hair was damp, and so was the collar of his shirt -- he must have just gotten out of the shower. He looked so clean he was almost glowing (but Buck was almost positive that Eddie glowed even after a four-alarm fire with his hair sweat matted and his face smeared with soot).
“Thanks for coming Buck,” Eddie said softly as he went for the pizza, using the disposable plates Giovanni’s had provided. “Beer’s in the fridge. I’ll get the disk loaded up in the DVD player.”
Buck grabbed two beers and a bottle of IBC Root Beer for Christopher (Eddie’s way to help Christopher feel included when the adults had their ‘grown-up drinks’). He popped the tops and set them on the coasters spread across the coffee table. Christopher had plopped himself into a special ‘movie theater’ seat that Eddie had bought off eBay. It had a cup holder and it reclined like the fancy new seats that were sweeping the nation, but it was miniature and just the right size for an eager seven-year old to use as he ate his pizza from the coffee table.
“So, what episodes are we watching?” Buck asked curiously from the couch where he had unceremoniously thrown himself, leaving just enough space for Eddie who shoved his legs out of the way before sitting.
“Wait, you actually meant the TV show?” Eddie asked, sounding genuinely surprised. “What happened to the Buck who didn’t care about anything that was made before you were born?”
Buck felt his face heat as he grew flustered. “Well, I just knew it was Christopher’s favorite show that he shared with you so I started watching it. I’m not very far -- I fall asleep a lot when it’s on. But I think I’m in Season 2?”
Eddie looked gobsmacked. It took a second but he shook his head, seeming to regain his composure. “We’re actually watching the 2009 movie with Chris Pine. Lots of explosions and action sequences. We thought it was more your style.”
“And sky-diving!” Chris piped up from the floor. “They go sky-diving!”
Both Eddie and Buck laughed, and Eddie took that moment to hit play on the menu screen before he settled in with his pizza, nestled just close enough to Buck to be absolutely maddening. Buck watched the film with moderate interest -- he’d seen it when it had first hit the theaters with his friends back in Pennsylvania but he hadn’t been super interested in the sci-fi genre at the time.
But now he wanted to watch and appreciate the film for what it stood for as a representation of his growing closeness with Eddie and Christopher.
It was just damn hard with Eddie’s leg burning a brand into his knee through the entire two and a half hour film.
Buck was so screwed.
---
After the film ended, Buck hung around on the couch as Eddie got Christopher ready for bed. He laughed as Christopher kept trying to convince his dad to let them watch at least one episode of the original Star Trek series before bed, but Eddie wasn’t swayed.
“It might be Valentine’s and you might have had too much candy at school, but it’s still a school night and that means bedtime is at 8:30. We’re already late on getting you into pajamas and teeth brushing!”
“But dad! Buck hasn’t seen Tribbles!”
“Tribbles can wait until the next boy’s night, okay?” Buck called down the hall, craning his neck around the corner to see Christopher, half in his pajamas and partially in the doorway of the bathroom where he was standing toe to toe with Eddie. At Buck’s words, however, Christopher gave in, allowing Eddie to usher him back into the bathroom with a grateful smile sent back down the hall to Buck.
After that it took no time at all to get Christopher tucked into bed with one final, “Good night, Buck,” followed by a warm hug and the soft sounds of Eddie telling his son one last story before the door to Christopher’s bedroom shut with a muted click.
Eddie’s feet dragged down the hallway with soft heavy padding noises before the frazzled father himself rounded the corner and he collapsed onto the couch, his head nearly in Buck’s lap. Eddie stared at the ceiling for a long moment and Buck took that moment to stare at Eddie.
“Thanks for coming over tonight Buck,” Eddie sighed, his eyes drifting shut for a few long moments. “We both really needed this.”
“Yeah,” Buck replied, desperately trying to keep his voice from cracking with all of the emotion behind it. He failed. “Anytime.”
Buck paused, then continued -- “And it’s not like I had anyone that wanted to spend Valentine’s day with me anyway.”
From his position on the couch, Eddie stiffened, his eyes still remaining shut -- though now with some apparent effort. After a few moments of deliberation, Eddie sat up turning to face Buck with a heavy expression.
“I wanted to spend Valentine’s day with you, Buck. That’s why I invited you.”
It was like a punch to the solar plexus and Buck reeled backwards. “But -- but I thought you only offered because my whole plan for the day sounded pathetic.”
Eddie’s hand was on his shoulder again, warm and solid and strong.
“I was the one who asked you what you were doing today, Buck. I wanted to invite you over. I just thought your plans would be fun with the three of us.”
Buck’s heart tripped and he felt short of breath. “Wait, so -- so it’s Valentine’s day, and you wanted -- you wanted -- but it’s not like -- I mean you’re not -- you haven’t been flirting with me or anything!” he sputtered, stumbling over his words.
Where Buck was flustered and buzzing, Eddie was calm and steady.
“Buck, I’m flirting with you. I have been since the day I met you.”
“But you -- Christopher -- I don’t -- wait --,” Buck’s breaths were coming in hard and heavy and he suddenly found himself with nearly a lap full of Eddie Diaz as Eddie’s hands cupped his face and the other man drew himself closer.
“Buck, Buck,” Eddie stressed, pointing Buck’s face towards his own, “look at me Buck. Deep breaths. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have… I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. Or to break your trust, but I --”
Whatever apologies or retractions Eddie had set to spill from his lips were silenced as Buck leaned forward quickly and pressed his lips against Eddie’s. Buck didn’t want the apologies or retractions or the ‘We can pretend this never happened’. He wanted this. He wanted nights watching cheesy sci-fi remake films and eating pizza and hugging Christopher good night. He wanted Eddie Diaz pressed next to him from shoulder to ankle, warm and real. He wanted all of this -- but he’d just been too afraid to say so.
Buck pulled away from Eddie’s soft and incredibly willing lips with a soft smack, feeling Eddie’s exhale brush gently against his skin. Eddie’s thumbs brushed over his cheekbones softly and sent a thrill up Buck’s spine.
“I’ve been flirting with you too,” Buck said softly, through a smile that he thought might actually break his face.
Eddie grinned then, that same bright indulgent smile that seemed to be reserved only for Buck. He pecked Buck on the lips quickly before pulling away, their smiles making it difficult to do much more.
“You’re incredible, you know that right?”
Buck couldn’t help the smirk that creeped onto his face. “So I’ve been told.”
“Shut up.”
Eddie shouldered Buck hard, sending Buck rocking back away towards the other end of the couch -- laughing all the way. But it was worth it, seeing Eddie’s pink tinged cheeks as he rolled his eyes, taking one final swig from his beer.
Evan ‘Buck’ Buckley was in love with his best friend, and it turned out that when your best friend loved you back? Valentines Day didn’t suck as bad after all.
