Mini Info Dump:

Purple Diamond

• Diamonds are impossible to shatter, even in Steven Universe, but in reality there's one thing that can cut a Diamond, another Diamond. It is also the same in my Steven Universe au and only one Diamond, Purple Diamond, was ever able to figure out how. Purple Diamond upon first learning to fight with a sword wound up developing her own fighting style/finishing move called Diamondcutter and only three "gems" have ever been able to learn it, that being Purple Diamond herself, her pearl Black Pearl and Steven.

• When Purple Diamond decided to shatter herself via Black Pearl she decided to have him use half of her gem to reform Pink and the other half would become a human child, Nia, who would eventually regain the memories of Purple, but when she shattered she shattered into two big pieces and a small shard, Black Pearl would turn the shard into a pendant on a choker he wore, it was to honor Purple as her gem was in her neck.

• Steven has met both the new Pink(+helped her gain the memories of Pink) and Nia and was quite traumatized by both. Nia was just a 20 smth that Steven met while off soul searching, thing is tho for a portion of time before it was revealed Nia was part gem Steven actually called her "Auntie Nia" because as Connie once very truly said "It's because she's loving and caring and scary and all that stuff like a mom but cooler", surprise Steven you were more correct than ya thought!

• After the battle against Black Pearl, the Diamonds reunion with Pink via new Pink and the Diamonds coming to accept Nia/Purple as one of them the gang was able to figure out how to "reform" Purple without having to erase new Pink's existence, essentially giving her a Pink Steven/Purple Nia form but it bears a much greater resemblance to Purple Diamond than Steven's Pink Steven form does to Pink Diamond.

• Nia/Purple developed a close relationship with Pearl, Pearl being subconsciously reminded of Pink/Rose and Nia/Purple being even more subconsciously reminded of Black Pearl as Pearl and Black Pearl are extremely similar in personality and demeanor except one is masculine and has depression-trauma and the other is feminine and has ptsd-trauma. At some point after Nia regained her form as Purple she and Pearl wound up fusing, sadly Purple Nia and Pearl's fused form Purple Pearl was an almost clone of Purple Diamond just much smaller while Purple Nia was very much Purple Diamond but also very much Nia, I say sadly because Black Pearl walked in and had a literal mental breakdown.

• A little tidbit but Pearl and Black Pearl are so chaotic together simply due to the facts they're both so similar and they're low-key down bad for Purple. Happy news tho Greg and Rose get their happy ending as after new Pink gained Pink's memories she decided to return to her life as Rose.

• The Diamond authority ranking: White, Blue and Yellow, Pink and Purple. Their actual power/wisdom ranking: Purple, White and Pink, Blue and Yellow.

Strong and super smart its in their genetics and subhanallah they manage to raise both adopted and biological children to become the best of the best for whatever career choice the parents have in mind, which will most likely be law enforcement or military, or whatever close tonthat. If the kids end up being more creative whatever at least they can defend themselves lest anything bad happen

LORE DUMPED BUT ANYWAYS. Gen, Grim, and Red, automatic A’s they exude A energy and dont give a shit, they treat everyone equally but if someone steps out of line they will do whatever needs to be done to ensure pack safety. Siolis has potential to be an A but never tried to, they dial it back and take their role as a B with pride. They dont want the attention or responsibility of being an A unless need be.

Ludenharts aside, we move to Lauren and Lorelai. Lauren; A. NO THOUGHTS NEEDED. A to the core and shows it off and if snyone tries to test her? She will win and boast of her win later on, sometimes when she does fight others over rank in the pack she’d end up shoving some down to B’s and O’s. She is ruthless! Lorelai; O, she is super smart but not strong enough to be a B, so she holds the fort back in the pack’s settlement and give medical treatment to the idiots who battle each other over rank. She is made fun of and poked at but she doesnt really care, she’d prefer being protected rather than protecting others, she hates to get hurt.

Yuna, also an O, she’s actually quiet lazy with pack work, she’d prefer being barely puts in the effort and hasnt gotten kicked out or abandoned yet solely due to the fact she supplies amazing entertainment as the singer of the pack, she finds the fighting tacky and stupid and laughs at those who battle for rank, which causes her to get of course to get a lot of negative feedback, but she doesnt give a rats ass lol

Djehuty/Tehuty

Bien, he querido hablar de Djehuty hace tiempo, pero no me daba el tiempo y cuando tenía se me olvidaba (Autismo/TDAH check), pero hoy me quise animar a hacerlo, de primeras porque soy su aprendiz, así que es mi deber hablar sobre el panteón egipcio y mis netkheru y segundo porque me comprometí a hablar de él y dar sus mensajes. Entonces, empecemos con este post.

¿Quien es Djehuty?

Djehuty es el netkher de la meditación, el heka, la escritura, las artes y patrón de escribas, y escriba en si mismo.

Él fue participe del mito osiriaco, quien se encargó de aconsejar a Sutekh (Tifón/Set/Seth), de revivir a Ausar (Osiris), de restauran el ojo de Heru (Horus, sincretismo del que hablaremos más adelante, pues todos estos sincretismos merecen un post explicándolos), de ayudar a dar a luz a Nut, quitándole 5 noches a la Luna y también el padre de la Ogdóada de los Hehu y esta Ogdóada la conforman los netkheru

Siendo Djehuty la cabeza. Se dice que son una manifestación de Djehuty, pues los Hehu actúan cómo uno solo, también hay quienes dicen que son los hijos de Djehuty.

Periodo Greco-Romano

Los greco-romanos asimilaron, no sincretizaron, ojo, son conceptos distintos, a Djehuty con Hermes y Mercurio, cambiándole su nombre a Thoth/Thot/Toth, lo escriben de muchas manera, no sabría decir cuál es la correcta xD.

Cuando los Greco-romanos vieron los mitos en los que estaba envuelto Djehuty y al ver también sus correspondencias, decidieron "limpiar su nombre", omitiendo ciertas partes del mito osiriaco donde es protagonista él y en otros mitos, cómo puede ser el mito del libro de Djehuty, donde castiga a un hombre y a su familia con la muerte tras haber robado su libro que contenía sus hechizos.

Representación

Son muchos los animales representativos de Djehuty, pero los más destacados son el Babuino y el Ibis, siendo representado como un hombre con cabeza de Ibis o Babuino o directamente como estos animales, pero hay que tener cuidado, pues Babi, otro netkher Babuino lunar, es representado directamente cómo este animal y es muy fácil confundirse.

Cuando se le representa a Djehuty, suele estar acompañado de otros escribas o suele tener a mano sus herramientas, cómo pueden ser su pluma y su papiro, donde cuenta los días de reinado del faraón o anota las malas y buenas acciones de las personas.

También se le suele representar junto a Ra y Sutekh, siendo junto a este ultimo con el que protege a la barca solar y a Ra de los ataques del demonio Nepai y otros, cómo los mut y el demonio S/h/a/k/i/k.

Curiosidades

Djehuty fue, en un inicio, un sacerdote de Ra, un fiel servidor suyo, es por esta razón también la de uno de sus animales, el Babuino, pues este sale todas las mañanas y hace un gesto el cual pareciera ser un saludo al sol, es por esta razón por la cual se le considera un fiel servidor de Ra, incluso, Djehuty, se ha ganado el título de "Ojo de Ra", título el cual, como ya hemos visto en post anteriores, son muchas las y los netkheru que son portadores de este honorable titulo.

The Despana kids are Malavon Despana’s children by various mothers, there are actually eleven in total by 1372 DR, but during the events of A Lesson Well Learned and A Dangerous Conjuration (1368 DR), Viconia’s youngest sibling, Vizeran, hadn’t been born yet.

All eleven of the siblings share a few common traits:

They all inherited their father’s white-blond hair, though it’s not super distinctive they are all blond-haired.

They all have either blue or red eyes.  Malavon has blue eyes himself.

Malavon named all of them after drow he hated, with a general preference for wizards and priestesses.  If he didn’t want to use or didn’t know the target’s name he usually just used one of their family members.

Malavon crafted special hair ornaments for each of them.  The ornaments are wrought from white gold in the shape of an unsleeping eye–Malavon’s personal symbol–and the eye is inset with a stone that matches his child’s eye color.  The ornaments are enchanted to help the wearer focus when casting, and fortifies the caster’s hold over the spell.  I actually do have stats on these items they’re insanely powerful with the caveat that Malavon crafted them to only attune to the child he made it for.

All eleven were born on a full moon or new moon, often one of some significance.

Malavon experimented on his children, so all eleven have latent magic he has trained them to master.  The elder eight have all been formally trained and trained in their latent magic, meaning they’re all multiclassed.  Yasraena, his ninth, has only been trained in her latent magic.  The other two aren’t old enough to be trained.

Lunar Exalted Companions (Solar Edition)

I had a decent time the last time I proposed this character exercise and want to do it again. Pick one of the Exalted Solar OCs below and I'll outline a Lunar companion. The specific relationship can be outlined in the replies/notes.

These thoughts might be outlandish and completely wrong but, guessing theories for the story seems like a fun way to pass time. Some I had talked about previously. 😵‍💫

Potential spoilers!

+_+ What IF Kade dies/gets captured/severely hurt, and the character goes full bloodbound MC mode, killing everyone and everything in a attempt to help/avenge their brother. (Might have something to do with her taking over after the Watcher if he dies or smt and gaining extra juice)(anyone want to see a sprite of MC in action, all of the characters got one and we as the character just stand there enthralled🫠)

+_+ MC someway, somehow gets separated from her friends and is trapped somewhere with Valax. From there we somewhat get to know her, ultimately finding out that they weren't the bad guys but in reality the people (beings) that separated them were evil.

+_+ I genuinely hope Valax is a LI, because I have been a Tyril girl for feking ever and I kind of wanna see if that's an option 🙈.

+_+ Another feeling I have is that the love interest isn't gonna tell us they love us until we have to leave or some shit due to the Watcher bullhonkey.

+_+ Or MC is gonna die, like Nia and maybe or maybe not brought back as the "new watcher" separating us from humanity and being unable to be with our LI. (Personally I hope not. 🫥 had enough trauma from ES Vaanu ending.)

+_+ Let's talk about Tyril's reunion with MC (their dialogue); I don't know, but the option in ch 2 about them having kids. I could reaching severely, but it kind of tells us the future of their relationship, that it's gonna end suddenly. Unless, there gonna a be an option to either to separate the two realms for good or merge em together; in the process going home with your LI.

+_+ Overall, the book is great! (With only two chapters) But I feel it will get even better once we get to see the rest of the gang. I genuinely don't know if any of these thoughts or suggestions or whatever these might be come true but hopefully we will be happy with our love interests.

Before I forget, I reread the first book and one of the lore tablets said something about marriage between elves.

In my humble opinion, I feel like Tyril and MC (elf or otherwise) have gone through them trials, minus the proposal and the Lunar Solstice.

But wouldn't it be nice to see them get engaged at the very least, tying two houses together? (House Starfury and Nightbloom).

Another thought; will we see House Nightbloom? And have an explanation of where MC comes from because it was just dropped into our laps and just left there? Unless there is another explanation.

As it was stated by the ancestor of House Starfury that MC's blood tastes like House Nightbloom which is no more. (Kinda weird but I'll accept it.)

What if there are ties to the supposed house and Ash Empire? Anything is possible. 🙈

In a way, Ellie and I are for once glad of the quiet for the day. We've been making herbal remedies and potions all day, but we've hardly had a soul come in. I suppose most of our custom had fled to safety, and as much as I sometimes despised doing divination readings for those without magic sometimes, custom is custom, after all.

The door creaks open, and Nia lets out a curious hoot. I must say, I'm surprised to see him again, and glad that he is still alive after all that's happened.

"A pleasure to see you alive, Father. And well, I hope."

"And to you, Kat, and I'm glad Ellie and Nia are okay. As for me, well- alive, yes, but well...not so much. I thought you might be able to help me figure something out."

Nia chirps at him, and tilts her head, turning back to me with an  alarmed look. She's right- I sense something offf about him, also.

"I see. Have you seen Dr. Annorin?"

"I have," he replies, his voice hoarse from exhaustion. "He told me to come to you. He thinks my problem is more of a magical nature than a biological one. I managed to overcharge myself dangerously after protecting the monastery with a lunar magic shield. Ever since, I've been...seeing ghosts of animals. First one was the monastery's mouser cat, and I've seen a few since. Dogs, foxes, birds..."

He takes a breath, and I hear him mutter something to himself under his breath- about something he should have told Owen.

"On top of that...I didn't turn into a wolf on the recent full moon. I've withheld it in the past, but I didn't feel anything. No resistance to the urge, no burning headache, nothing. I just led there all night."

That is beyond strange. It's nowhere close to a day where the veil is thin, and I know Reynold has no knowledge of communication with the dead. I don't think I've met anyone in Henford who has, though I remember a few people back home to spoke of the world beyond now and again. But to stop turning into a werewolf? Surely such a transformation is inevitable regardless of how much someone resists it, but he didn't even try to hold back or feel the need to. 

I don't know entirely what the cause is, but I think I already have a good feeling of what it could be. 

"What did Owen tell you?"

"He said something about me being strangely cold, and thinks the overcharge has done something to the magic in my blood."

It sometimes pains me to think about all of the arcane knowledge Owen has that he has to keep buried. Though his outlook seems to be more of a biological one, like Reynold said, I don't think he's far from the truth. There's an emptiness about him.

"That doesn't sound too far off from what I'm thinking, Reynold. Sit with me."

Nia perches in the scales, chirping at Reynold, trying to cheer him up. He doesn't know that, and lightly shushes her. I let him settle a little before I reveal what I'm about to say to him.

"Normally, when I am around you, I can sense how powerful the magic within you is. Right now, however, I do not sense a thing. I feel the same way I do around those without magic."

His reaction is far from positive, as I expected. I see the panic in his eyes. 

The Rite of Dissolution is not uncommon. It is also commonly fatal. Some witches would be willing to take the risk just to become 'normal' humans, in the hopes that they will evade being on the end of a witchfinder's sword.

That said, to become separated from one's magic is devastating even to those who choose for such a thing to happen. To become separated from such a large part of yourself and your heritage, it is an unimaginable pain for the regular folk of Henford. For the magic-folk, and for those not from around these parts? All too real. 

"W-what do you mean?"

"I don't think it's that your magic has disappeared, Reynold. Without a Rite of Dissolution, it isn't possible, not to my knowledge. But I do think that your magic has been greatly weakened by the overcharge. I do have a theory for the ghosts- but you must prepare yourself for what I'm about to say."

Every year, NASA’s Breakthrough, Innovative, and Game-Changing (BIG) Idea Challenge invites student innovators to build and demonstrate concepts that can benefit future human missions to the Moon and beyond. This year’s theme is “Inflatable Systems for Lunar Operations,” which could greatly reduce the mass and stowed volume of payloads sent to the Moon. This is critical for the Artemis Program as it returns astronauts to the Moon for the first time since the Apollo Era over fifty years ago. It will also reduce the costs of sending payloads to the Moon, Mars, and other deep-space destinations. The BIG Idea Challenge is sponsored by NASA’s Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD) as part of a collaborative effort between its Game Changing Development (GCD) program and the agency’s Office of STEM Engagement. The competition is managed jointly by the National Institute of Aerospace (NIA) and the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (JHUAPL) and funded by the GCD and the National Space Grant College and Fellowship Project. As part of the challenge, teams of 5-25 students and their faculty advisors will submit proposals, and five to eight finalists will be selected for further development. Despite decades of growth and development, the greatest challenges for sending crewed missions to space remain volume and mass limitations. Like it or not, launches are still subject to the Rocket Equation, which creates a vicious cycle where larger payloads require more propellant to break free of Earth’s gravity. This, in turn, means larger rockets with heavier propellant tanks, and so on. As such, large structures cannot be placed on the lunar or Martian surface without complex deployment mechanisms and on-site assembly. NASA has explored multiple solutions to this problem, which include using local resources to create building materials and provide for astronaut needs – aka. In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU). This has the advantage of reducing the amount of supplies astronauts will need to bring with them while reducing dependency on resupply missions. Another solution is to send large, inflatable systems, which are low-mass and can be tightly packed into payload fairings. Once they reach their destination and are inflated, they expand to become many times their stowed volume. Along with advanced fabrics and internal pressure stiffening, inflatable systems can offer robust habitats and environmental protection against harsh extraterrestrial conditions. This is the purpose of the 2024 BIG Idea Challenge, where collegiate-level teams are tasked with designing habitats that incorporate inflatable components. These range from towers, gantries, and antennas to soft robotics, actuators, connectors, deployment mechanisms, airlocks, and temporary shelters. Niki Werkheiser, Director of Technology Maturation at NASA’s STMD, said in a recent NASA press release: “This challenge is particularly exciting because it applies out-of-the-box thinking to the design and engineering processes that will be required to incorporate inflatable components into space missions. Harnessing the impressive creativity demonstrated by this collegiate cohort could present truly novel solutions for future space exploration.” Finalists will be selected by a panel of NASA and industry experts who will evaluate the proposal and video package of mission scenarios that incorporate inflatable systems. The five to eight terms selected will receive a stipend of between $50,000 and $150,000, including expenses for hardware, materials, testing equipment, software, etc. The teams will spend the next nine months further developing, refining, and testing their proposals and preparing a 15-20 page technical write-up detailing their results. This will be followed by the annual BIG Idea Forum next Fall, where they will be invited to present their concepts for a technical design review.
