I just want to say thank you to everyone who created an entry and to everyone who has supported us in DTH Fests' 14th year. It was my first year hosting this fest and I know we had a few hiccups at first, but this was so much fun that I'm hoping to bring it back again next year. Thank you for all of your support!!!!! 💚

Announcement || HP Erotic Sapphics Week ☆

We're glad to announce themed week dedicated to erotic/kinky content about women from any era of the HP universe!

Anyone can agree that there is a remarkably small amount of healthy erotic content with women in the fandom space. The goal of this event is to create more mature/explicit content centering on women’s pleasure, because exploring one's sexuality and being interested in this kind of content is not something to be ashamed of. We deserve a space to enjoy female sensuality.

The event will take place from May 19 to 25.

Reminders:

• Prompt claiming is on a first-come, first-claimed basis.

• Sign-ups are done via a Google Form (see above).

• You must state your first, second, and third choices for a prompt when you claim.

• Each prompt can be claimed once for art and once for fic. A prompt can also be claimed for fic AND art.

• Please state whether you are claiming for fic or for art.

• Yes, you may claim your own prompt. :) Just tell us in the Sign-up form.

• You can claim only one prompt at a time. You may claim another prompt once you submit your first fic/art to the mods. You may claim up to three prompts. (Exception: You claim a prompt for both fic and art.)

How prompt claiming works:

If your first prompt choice still needs to be claimed, it's yours! If your first choice is already claimed, you will get your second choice. If your second choice is already claimed, you will get your third choice. If your third choice is claimed, we will ask you to submit another three choices.

If you only want to request one prompt, that is perfectly fine. Take the risk of it being claimed, and you start over.

Once you fill out the Sign-up Form, you will receive an email from the mods about which of your claimed prompts you got and how to submit your fic, art, or Podfic. Please be patient. It may take up to 48 hours until we manage to send out all emails to fest participants.

We will update the Prompt List ASAP to indicate which prompts have already been claimed.

How to sign up to record a podfic:

Please make sure to read the Info Post about Podficcing before signing up to Podfic for the dracotops_harry Fest.

Reminders:

• All podfics must be H/D and top!Draco. In this Fest, switching between the boys is not allowed.

• You need to get permission from the author before you submit your Podfic to us.

• If you would like to Podfic a story but haven't decided yet, please sign up now and let us know which story you have chosen before March 28, 2025.

Why did Harry use only Expelliarmus on Voldemort but Sectumsempra on Draco? Also, if Expelliarmus was Harry's go to spell why use Sectumsempra when he could use it against Draco's Crucio?

Harry fights Draco really differently than he fights everyone else.

So okay. Normally when he fights, Harry's go-to spells are:

Impedimenta (slow down)

Petrificus Totalus (paralyze)

Stupefy (knock out)

Expelliarmus (disarm)

Which means his strategy is get away from/incapacitate his opponent as quickly as possible and that's IT. Harry is not a flashy or creative fighter the way Dumbledore, Voldemort, and heck even side characters like Percy are. Which makes perfect sense. Fighting has never been a game for Harry. It's never been abstract. He'll do all these badass things but when he talks about fighting (like we see during the DA segments) he's not thinking about it like it's something interesting or cool. He's picturing going up against a more powerful opponent, probably while injured and scared. And what's the best thing to have in that situation? Four useful, all-purpose spells that you've practiced enough times that you don't have to think about them anymore.

Zachariah Smith gives Harry a hard time for relying on a spell as "basic" as expelliarmus, which tells us that in-universe, Harry's stripped-down dueling style might be considered kind of plain or boring. But Harry's a very effective duelist, probably because he is so practical. He doesn't care about showing off, looking powerful, or intimidating his opponents.

... except when he's fighting specifically Draco.

When he's fighting DRACO MALFOY, Harry brings out the fun spells:

Rictusempra (tickling)

Furnunculus (boils)

Leg-Locker jinx

Levicorpus (levitate by ankle)

Toenail-growing hex

And also Sectumsempra, which he THINKS is going to be another embarrassing/fun spell, because levicorpus and the toenail-growing hex also came out of the Half-Blood Prince's textbook, and Harry thinks this third spell is going to be another one like that.

So my conclusion is that Harry just kind of... uniquely enjoys fighting with Draco. He's not trying to end the encounter as fast as possible, there probably is some element where he wants to show off, hit Draco with something new or something clever. Harry and Draco have a dynamic where it's *fun* to one-up/get the upper hand over each other, and duels are perfect for that.

To me this is a very natural extension of Harry's "lets plot hypothetical ways to get Malfoy expelled" (which he does with Ron, for fun) and "lets try to figure out what Suspicious Thing Malfoy is up to now" (one of Harry's very favorite pastimes.) So long story short - when Harry fights Draco, he fights like a teenager. When he fights anyone else, he fights like an auror.
