So I can pretty much confirm at this point the WADSN bootleg Hot Buttons are just better than the originals.
Pros:
- Dirt fucking cheap - $25 each instead of fucking $95 each.
- Cables are nice and flexible - unity cables are too stiff.
- The MLOK versions actually have enough body clearance to tuck the cable against the base of the top rail if mounted on the 45-degree MLOK slots of something like a Geissele Mk16 rail.
- Buttons aren't too sensitive, there's a nice 'wall' before the constant-on clicky function so momentary presses are much easier. Surface has a nice texture compared to the smooth Unity ones.
- The anodizing and CNC work on these cheap, Chinese bootlegs is somehow cleaner than legit Unity Hot Buttons.
- Surefire plug versions are actually nice and tight - no play or flickering, which is more than can be said for a lot of legit Surefire plugs.
- Crane plug versions are actually compatible with Steiner laser units without prolapsing their ports.
- You can buy versions without logos so your switchology isn't a goddamn billboard.
- These aren't discontinued; they're all over ebay and aliexpress (for the time being).
- The FDE anodized version ACTUALLY looks like FDE and pairs with Geissele DDC quite well as opposed that honey mustard golden garbage finish that Unity uses on their products.
Cons:
- The screw and nut sets the MLOK versions come with are absolute trash - replace them at your earliest possible convenience (I'll let you know what I end up using).
- The body tolerances of MLOK versions are a little undersized - there is a bit of play in all directions, but even the shitty default screws these come with lock them down fairly well.
- Both the Surefire and Crane plug versions have a 'clicky' button - this may lead to some potential constant-on issues when using these with laser aiming modules - especially those with a double-tap constant on function.
All in all, I would wholeheartedly recommend these as white light switches if you like Unity Hot Buttons but hate the cost and the issues they come with.

Acute Kidney Injury
Acute kidney injury (AKI), previously known as acute renal failure, represents a medical emergency and encompasses a wide range of damage to the kidneys
(AKI) occurs when kidney function rapidly deteriorates, leading to an inability to maintain fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balance. It contributes to increased morbidity and mortality. The severity of AKI results in significant healthcare costs. Consequently, there is a heightened focus on identifying new biomarkers for AKI. Detecting AKI earlier would ultimately preserve lives, improve patients' quality of life globally, and reduce healthcare system expenses.

Anna Price Petyarre, born 1960s, is an Anmatyerre woman from the Boundary Bore area of the former Utopia Station, north east of Alice Springs. Anna is also known as Anna Pitjara, Anna Price and Anna Price Pitjara. She is the daughter of the late Glory Ngarla (Ngale, or Ngal) and niece to the late Emily Kame Kngwarreye.
Anna began painting in the early 1980s.
Anna initially primarily painted Yam Seed Dreaming in a colourful and intricate expression of the songs and stories associated with her plant totem, the Bush Yam, and its seeds. The Bush Yam has been a staple food and water source for the Anmatyerre people for countless years and the seeds that form and scatter from the plant are ground up to make flour for damper. During ceremony, it is Anna's duty to pay homage to the yam seeds and give thanks for their abundance and regenerative qualities. By painting to the tempo of a ceremonial song, Anna expresses her connection to her plant totem in a permanent medium.
A versatile and creative artist Anna has changed her painting style radically several times over the last decade and now concentrates on extremely finely dotted works which represent her country and its ceremonial sites at Boundary Bore.

"The forest of Pandora hold many dangers, But the most dangerous thing about Pandora is that you may grow to love her too much."
You take your aim at the viper wolf a few feet away from you as you pull the string back it gets caught on your stomach causing you to have to readjust your form letting the arrow fly through the air with a grunt.
you walk back to the village with your pray slung over your shoulder upon entering neytiri runs up to you "where have you been?" she then notices the viper wolf slung over your shoulder "you were hunting?! what about the baby? is the baby alright?" she says trying to turn you and check for any wounds or signs that you got hurt.
you hissed and slapped her hand away "im not a baby, im an adult, and i may be pregnant, but that doesn't mean im growing weak im strong enough to take care of myself and my baby," you say angry with the way she was treating you since you became pregnant shes been treating you like a baby "i think of my child all the time its the first thing i think of in the morning, if i want to hunt ill hunt, now if you'll kindly move out of my way" you say walking past her.
your mother came from behind neytiri "you've made her angry" neytiri let out a irritated sigh "she was out hunting without thinking of the baby" your mother smiled at her daughter "y/n is perfectly fine, if she wants to hunt let her, she doesnt want to feel like a burden to anyone just because shes pregnant, she has a strong spirit and strong willed, she'll do what she wants and no one will be able to stop her" she said smiling at neytiri.
"even while pregnant y/n wouldnt listen to anyone at all, not even me something about that made me love her even more."

"Lie si oe Neteyamur, Nawma Sa'nokur mìfa oeyä, Atanti ngal molunge Mipa tìreyti, mipa 'itanti Lawnol a mì te'lan, Lawnol a mì te'lan" (I experiment Neteyam, To the great mother inside me, You brought me light, New life, new goal, Great happiness that is in my heart, Great happiness that is in my heart).
you sang holding a woven line with beads in your hand slowly moving your fingers across every bead, singing a different story which each one your fingers touched.
"We sing the songcords to remember, each bead, a story in our life, a bead for the birth of our son" the whole clan in the forest standing in a circle, the same way they did when jake become on of the people jake was in the middle holding your son in the air, your arm on jake while your other hand was being held by your mothers.
you watched as neteyam was lifted in the air being welcomed as one of the people you smiled at the sight "Neteyam" and the rest of the Na'vi repeated.
"Zola'u nìprrte', ma Kiri, Ngati oel munge soaiane, Lie si oe atanur, Pähem parul, ti'ongokx ahuta, Lawnol a mì te'lan, Lawnol a mì te'lan" (Welcome, Kiri, I experiment the light, A miracle arrives, a born comes to me, Great happiness that is in my heart, Great happiness that is in my heart).
"A bead when we adopted our daughter, Kiri" you and jake stood on one side, while norm stood on the other side of the glass tank that held graces avatar watching her stomach grow throughout the months "born of graces avatar, a daughter whos conception was a total mystery."
"A bead for the first communion with Eywa" you, jake and the rest of the clan were at the soul tree everyone's singing voice filling the air around "The people say we live in Eywa, and Eywa lives in us," your mother connects neteyams queue the the tree as you look over and smile "the great mother holds all her children in her heart."
"Ma Eywa, ma Eywa" you finish singing as you stood up to put the songcord back in its safe place, jake looks at you lovingly as you stop singing.
--
your sitting down with kiri and lo'ak as jake holds neteyam as if he was toruk flying above pandora "Happiness is simple," you flap your arms as if you were toruk flying around your kids "but who would've thought a jarhead like me would crack the code" jake watched as kiri and loak followed you.
--
your whole family is laying together you telling the story of how you first met their family the kids smile and watch you talk with interest in their eyes "when i first met your father i was trying to kill him, he was to loud, and he acted like a baby not knowing what to do" you tell them.
they let out little laughs, not believing that their mother would've tried to kill their father "it was love at first sight." as you all sunggled close to go to bed, while you laid there awake wondering about these dreams Eywa has been plaguing you with, there was fire and destruction, the sky was dark full of smoke and ashes, you felt the emotions of the creatures around you, pain and sorrow is all you felt from them.
but you didnt let those dreams bother you, but it was always there replaying in the back of your head, if the sky people did return and there was another war you would fight to protect your people and the people you loved, but this time your kids would be involved and that thought scared you,
only Eywa knew about what was to come and she was warning you of what dangers were lurking around the corner.

What is it to be Na’vi?
It is connection - with Na’vi, with animals, with plants, with the world. A hundred threads, no, a thousand, between a thousand creatures, Like stars that spread across the night sky, Divided yet together, parts of one thing. It is to know that you belong, No matter what happens, no matter where you go.
It is survival, in a world beautiful and cruel. Pandora gives us all we need to live, But also gives these things to all her children. Sometimes you are the gift to another creature. The Great Mother does not do favors for one child more than another. Her children survive by their own strength and intelligence. As we live in Eywa, so we die in Eywa. To remove her teeth and claws would be to destroy her.
It is to live together with all creatures. To bond and to See, To commune with Eywa and with the world. Never take more than you need. Respect all creatures as your siblings.
It is grace and strength, running and leaping, Blue skin, eight fingers, Ears and tail in order to speak, Bioluminescence to glow like the world, Kuru to See it.
What is it to be Na’vi? How does one become Na’vi? I reach for you, O Great Mother, Show your child how to return home.

hello! i sent an ask earlier but let me rephrase. is there any protection tablet you know of that has an every day protection incantation? i’m very spiritual and would like a phrase to write in cuneiform for my protection. I know of the word Ḫulbazizi, which is similar to “evil be gone” but could you help translate a phrase like “evil be gone, may the gods protect every step i take” thank you so much ❤️ it’s so hard to find people who understand cuneiform!
Hello! I did some sleuthing and here's what I've found. The hulbazizi incantations are a set of inscriptions that are mostly in the Akkadian language, dating to later than the Sumerian period, though they often use Sumerian words (or sometimes nonsense Sumerian-like words) in amongst the Akkadian. They most often appear on amulets and protective charms rather than full-size tablets - here's one in the Schoyen collection. They're called that from the Sumerian words hul 𒅆𒌨 "evil" + zi 𒍣 "to destroy", in the passive form bazizi 𒁀𒍣𒍣 "it is destroyed", which is used as an incipit (first words) of some of them, but doesn't appear in every one. Check out Bácskay & Niederreiter 2022 for a bunch of examples. You may also be interested in van Dijk et. al. 1985 (full text from Yale here), which has a large number of incantation spells but unfortunately isn't searchable.
My twitch chat helped me out with our own translation of the phrase you requested, though I don't know of it appearing anywhere in the cuneiform corpus of course. "Deities" is dingirene 𒀭𒊑𒉈, and "to protect" is ngal 𒅅, in the form "may (they) protect (it)" appearing as hebngalene, which I believe would be 𒃶𒅁𒅅𒂊𒉈 in cuneiform. The word for "step, footstep" in Sumerian is the same as the word for "foot", ngiri 𒄊 - and the most Sumerian-ish way I'd translate the end of the phrase is simply as "all (shar) my (-ngu) footsteps", ngirisharngu 𒄊𒊹𒈬.
Putting it together, I'd translate this phrase as Hul bazizi, dingirene ngirisharngu hebngalene "Evil be destroyed, may the deities protect all my footsteps", written 𒅆𒌨 𒁀𒍣𒍣 𒀭𒊑𒉈 𒄊𒊹𒈬 𒃶𒅁𒅅𒂊𒉈 in cuneiform. Let me know if this translation works for you!

so these screenshots originally posted by Karyu Tekre over on Discord show why you should never use auto-translators or AI to translate Na'vi: it's pretty much always wrong.
In these images we see ChatGPT and Google Translate attempt to give a translation for the comment following comment:
ma Wllìm, pelun ngal zene Tekreti steykivi?
The correct translation for this phrase should be this:
Wllìm, why must you make Tekre angry?
(...or, well, technically the original sentence should've used nga instead of ngal; the -L ending gets dropped in modal constructions (with some rare exceptions), that's the grammar mistake Tekre mentions in the first ChatGPT image...which, as you can see, the AI failed to correctly identify.)
But instead of this, Google and ChatGPT give us a whole variety of incorrect answers:
"ma Wllìm, with whom do you stay?" "but Wllìm, where did you live?" "but Wllìm, with this zene Tekreti stayed" "William, why do you need to close the door?" "William, why do you keep telling the same stories?"
...as you can see, none of those are even remotely close to the correct answer, nor are they even consistent!
ChatGPT seems to do ok-ish when asked for single words—it got most (but not all) of the individual definitions correct—but once it tries to put those words into full sentences or explain the grammar, everything falls apart and it starts spouting absolute nonsense.
basically, it's absolute crap for translating full sentences or learning grammar, might be ok-ish for translating individual words but for that you can just as easily use any Na'vi dictionary and get far more reliable accurate results, so uh...yeah seriously, just don't bother with trying to use ChatGPT or other AI for this 😅

ˋ The Siren Song .࿐
Lo'ak Sully x Metkayina Reader ( ONE SHOT )
Tumblr media
Synopsis : The sea, a place of mystery and endless charm, hides secrets that only a few can understand. In a coastal village of the Metkayina clan, amidst glittering waves and imposing cliffs, there was a story as fascinating as unlikely. A young Na'vi just arrived, with strong shoulders and eyes full of curiosity, found himself trapped in the enveloping song of a mysterious young Metkayina woman. Her seductive melodies echoed in the salty air, penetrating into the hearts of everyone who heard them. Lo'ak was fascinated by that divine sound and ventured into the beach, hiding for several nights, to discover the origin of that song, remaining enchanted by the woman who sang and danced in harmony under the light of the stars… Until one night he gets caught.
Warning : None. FLUFF
Lenght : 3.5k
NA'VI WORDS : YAWNTUTSYIP: Darling, Little loved one
LO'AK: 20 y.o / Y/N: 18 y.o
· · ─────── · 𖥸 · ─────── · ·
As the warm and silent night enveloped the beach of Awa'atlu, your lonely figure stood on the damp and silvery sand, as if it were pulverized with a layer of stardust, a soft lighting that danced around you. The waves crashing on the shore emitted a sweet sound of liberation, like a reassuring whisper singing a sweet melody to your ear. Their constant movement, a perpetual beat of the heart of the ocean, melted with your voice, creating a magical harmony that floated in the night air of the beach. The stars twinkled like diamonds in the night sky, while the moonbeams illuminated your makeshift stage on the beach. The ashy light danced through the waves, creating glowing reflections that seemed to applaud your talent, urging you to continue to sing for the Great Mother. Deep in the night, sea animals joined the natural beach orchestra. Seagulls croaked in the distance, like angelic choirs that responded to your notes. The waves carried with them the melodious song of the newly returned Tulkuns, a deep and powerful symphony that vibrated in the soul of Lo'ak who listened in silence from afar, hypnotized.
Lie si oe tìvawmur – I experience the darkness Atanti ngal molunge, Ma Eywa – You brought light, oh Eywa lawnol a mì te'lan – Great joy in my heart Srrìri tìreyä – For the days of life Ngaru irayo seiyi ayoe, Ma Eywa – We thank you, oh Eywa Tonìri tìreyä – For the nights of life
You sang with bare feet in the sand, dancing freely, emanating a magnetic aura. Your voice, intense and penetrating, hovered in the air accompanying, telling pieces of your Songcord, the dark days and happy days blessed by Eywa and her love. Your notes intertwined with the sound of the sea and the singing of marine animals, creating a unique melody that seemed to merge with infinity, and that left Lo'ak breathless and mesmerized. And so, once again on the beach, you became part of the enchanted landscape. Your music traveled along the brackish breeze, bringing with it the magic of the night and its sounds, enchanting the young Na'vi who still did not know your face. This was the seventh night that Lo'ak hid behind some rocks to listen to your voice, remaining in silence not to disturb that magic that only the darkness of the night and the ocean could reveal, admiring you from afar, finding peace in your music. Every note, every nuance of your song was like a fragment of a deep emotion, a song that told of passions, dreams and hopes.
"Are you going to hide for more nights?" You asked in the wind, while on your knees, tired from dancing for about an hour, you wet your hair on the shore of the sea. You already noticed a few nights before you had a silent spectator, but you had preferred to shut up because you didn’t know if he was waiting for the right moment to approach you, or if maybe he was just too shy to do it. So you decided to give him a chance to reveal himself to you without waiting any longer. A whirlwind of emotions takes over in Lo'ak, feeling exposed. His mind filled with excitement, fear and hope as his heart pounded in his chest. Every detail of the moment seems to amplify, making his presence even more incisive, albeit hidden. "I don’t bite, you can approach me" you continued, laughing slightly, turning your back as you waited for him to approach. Lo'ak’s eyes explored your body from behind: Your long wavy raven hair, the watery green skin that shone because of the tiny bioluminescent freckles that created constellations on your body, the loincloth folded to the side to let you sit comfortably and the threads of the top that covered your front breast. During the seven nights he watched and listened to yourself singing and dancing freely alone on the beach, you fed his dreams and fantasies about you, daydreaming of the day he would show up, studying it in his mind. He would never have imagined that your meeting could happen so directly on your part.
Lo'ak came out of his cunning hiding place and approached you. His legs trembled slightly, as his heart began to hammer so hard that he became deaf. His mind was filled with a mix of curiosity, hope and fear of disappointing you in some way, as you had captured his attention in such a powerful and innocent way. You turned your face to the side, noticing the Na'vi behind you, smiling gently and then turning around completely and being inexplicably fascinated by that mysterious guy so different from the Metkayina boys you were used to. His tight waist, his slender yet toned body, his tail thinner than yours and her hand presenting what looked like an extra finger. Your eyes then met his, remaining enchanted by those golden pools that reminded you of dawn, deep and magnetic, left you mesmerized for a while. His gaze lingered on yours, finding you enchanting, perhaps even better than he had imagined your face. "I finally see you…" You whispered with a thread of voice as your heart sped inexplicably into your chest, sending strange signals even to your stomach that began to writhe on itself. Your voice out of the song was pure hypnotic melody, as if you invited him to be amazed and run out of words in his throat, making him just breathe like a fish out of water. "I see you too… I’ve seen you before, but never… I mean, you know. Your eyes… and…" He began, going into confusion right away, thanking the little light that could hide the slight redness on his cheeks. < Idiot. > He thought to himself, while scratching his neck swallowing heavily. You laughed slightly, amused by his clumsiness around you; though you might notice that he was a belted warrior wrapping his abdomen, hardly believing that a warrior could be so careless and almost shy with a woman.
"No need to be embarrassed, sweetie, I noticed you a few nights ago. I don’t seem to have been rude enough to embarrass you, do I?" You asked while you started to wet the long braid that covered the neuronal tail, trying to put the boy at ease, looking away from him. You smiled shyly, as the boy’s strong natural scent struck your delicate sense of smell, finding it strangely delicious and pleasant, unlike that of other boys. "No, not at all… I thought I would pass more unnerved, that’s it" he admitted, looking at you from above, taking long, deep breaths, not knowing how to carry on the conversation. "You’re not from here, are you? Your skin and texture would not go unnoticed, not even your perfume." You admitted, as you implied that he was sitting next to you. Lo'ak sat down beside you, leaving some space between you two. "No, I just arrived with my family. I come from the Omatikaya clan" he said without taking his eyes off your face covered with some wavy strands of hair. "The Omatikaya clan? You come from far away. What is your name?" You turned your face towards him, looking at him in the honey puddle in his eyes, breathing in his scent. "Lo'ak… Your name instead is?" His voice made his interest and curiosity in knowing you, feeling already so close to you not only physically. "Y/n, you may not believe it but I am the singer of the Metkayina clan" Your voice was sarcastic, as you watched as a smile began to paint itself on his face, showing beautiful pearly teeth and long canines. You smiled back, happy to have managed to make the boy smile beside you, feeling that he was now less tense than before.
"Unbelievable, who would have expected it. Such a beautiful and melodious voice that acts as the main voice for the clan? Unimaginable" Lo'ak said, continuing the little game you had started. You bit your lip slightly as you carried a few curls behind your ear, looking down at his hands, which they laid on the ground. You immediately noticed that Lo'ak did not look like a real Na'vi, the presence of eyebrows, a fifth finger or the almost non-existence of the typical Na'vi cross on his abdomen, but these details only made you curious about him. "So flattering, you only heard me sing for a few nights. But thank you, compliments are always appreciated" you replied, creating a path with your eyes from his hands to his eyes. "You’re right, but that doesn’t mean your voice isn’t charming… May I ask why you always sing the same song? It’s very beautiful, but I don’t understand why you always go around the same" He bit his lip slightly as he looked at you. Even though you were sitting, you seemed so tiny near him, almost fragile, because of the height difference. "It’s my songcord. I usually sing to the Great Mother, waiting to add more important events… I like to remember my life every night, it’s a celebration of myself, to wish me the best for the future. You never sang your songcord?" Your eyes fell on his loincloth for a second, looking briefly at his songcord that was tied to his side, and then blushing when your eyes inevitably moved more to the center, noticing something you shouldn’t even notice. "No, I extend it but I don’t sing it. Sometimes I look at it and I think I’ve only had a few important events in my life, I don’t think the Great Mother would listen to me if I asked her something similar" Lo'ak’s voice had that strange aftertaste of bitterness, as if something had marked him perpetually throughout his life.
Your hand laid gently on his warm cheek, while the tip ofyour little finger brushed against the boy’s angular jaw. "The Great Mother always listens to us, no matter how little hope we have. She is here" you laid a hand on his chest, shyly. "Just… just try to live every day as if it were your last, thank her for your days and live with the knowledge that you have someone watching over you continuously. You will see that your Songcord will stretch and you will find more experiences to keep you dear to you" You answered and then get up. " You listened to my voice for seven nights in silence. I am sure you will have the same patience to listen to your voice too, the Great Mother will do the same… or she has already done it" You turned around as you began to walk. Lo'ak looked at you silently as you walked away from him. "H-hey, y/n where are you going?" He said as he rose, dusting away the sand from his cerulean skin. "It’s late, I have to get back to my marui. I reduced myself to the last minute to talk to you like this in case it was too embarrassing or worse, I could have left without you weighing it" Your voice was sincere. You turned and then smiled gently at him, with a slight and impetuous blush on the cheeks "Fortunately it went well". Lo'ak remained to admire you as you walked away, heading where all the Marui were, and smiled, turning back on the sand. His hand immediately found an object on the sand, a small blue pearl, with white reflections due to the moonlight. He squeezed it between his fingers and then carried it over his head, inspecting it against light, deciding that that pearl would end up on his songcord, sure that the encounter with you was not random, and that you would bring light on that eternal night that had enveloped him all these years.
More nights passed since then, and every night Lo'ak listened to you sing your songcord, watching as your hands caressed the beads and your smile softened every time you came to the end. Lo'ak admired you in silence, indeed, he worshipped you, feeling alive at every note that left your mouth, creating a hypnotic melody in his mind that could only make him accelerate his heart, while his hand touched his own songcord, in particular the bead that represented you. Every night he would listen to you and then you would sing him some songs from the Metkayina clan, always asking him if he had added new pearls to his songcord, and talking about all sorts of things. You liked to meet him and listen to his outbursts, creating almost a safe place around you, where he could feel safe and calm, and you too. You could say that you were completely in tune, understanding you with little, even if the meetings were limited only to the night because of the commitments of both. You never complained about this, enjoying those moments of tranquility and security. One of those nights you noticed his songcord, with a pearl that had to be of the Metkayina clan due to the shape and nuances.
"Ma Lo'ak, isn’t that a pearl of the sea on your songcord?" you asked intrigued, pointing to the songcord tied to his loincloth. "Hmm?" He looked down at the spot where you were pointing and blushed suddenly. "Y-yes… it’s a pearl of the sea, I found it the night we first spoke, I saw it and I caught it…" He said slightly embarrassed, as he looked away from you and hid his songcord, at least the end where the bead was. You laughed and then leaned your fingertips on his biceps, resting your face on his shoulder as you breathed in his perfume, making him blush from the sudden proximity. "And you decided to put it on your songcord? Is it for me?" you shamelessly asked, noticing how a shiver passed through his body and the slight redness on his cheeks. "What? Is it really for me? Aw, that’s so cute." Your voice was kind of funny, even sweet and sincere, as you teased him and pinched his arm to make him talk. "No! I mean, yes… Well, it’s- ah! y/n, stop," he said, turning his face to the side so you wouldn’t see him blushing, even though it was too late. "How cute! You’re embarrassed for so little? Oh, c'mon Lo'ak, that’s nice. I’m happy to be in your songcord as a reminder to keep in mind" You put your hand under his chin and turned him in your direction and then unbalanced yourself forward, touching your noses. "I also want you in my songcord, can I have one of your beads, please?" You asked him while your faces were separated by very little space. His eyes fell on your lips and then returned to your eyes, swallowing slightly before sighing.
"What would you like?" He answered as he moved a strand of hair behind your ear, noticing how he seemed enchanted and almost mesmerized by your eyes. "This here… can I have it?" Your eyes did not come off her, as you used your peripheral vision to wrap two fingers around a yellow bead that was on one of her braids. "I like this one. It reminds me of the suns of Pandora, the coral reef of the ocean and…" you laid a hand on his cheek, gently "your eyes." Lo'ak blushed more, making you smile. You noticed how he took off all the beads to give you the yellow one you had decided, and then rearranged them on the braid. You looked at him and silently thanked him for putting the bead in your hair, keeping it there until you get home and can add it to the songord. "I don’t understand why you get so shy when I’m so close to you" you huffed and then went backwards, laying your hands on the moist, compact sand, which offered a pleasant feeling of freshness. The waves of the ocean reflected on it, creating a shimmering and magical effect, while the stars above you reflected on your raven hair, forming almost moonlight-like spots, as if the cosmos were pouring down on you. Lo'ak looked at you with his big golden eyes, more and more mesmerized by your beauty and your being so outspoken, feeling his heart accelerate when the sea breeze brought your perfume directly into his lungs. "I’m not shy, I’m just not used to talking to girls like you" he admitted. You raised an eyebrow, not understanding the meaning of what he was saying. "You are direct, too direct y/n" you stop him. "is that bad?" He looked at you, sighing as he felt like an idiot. "No, I love this aspect of you" he admitted, looking down slightly, and then opened his eyes when you answered. "Do you love it?" you replied, smiling, as you approached him again, observing how the blush persisted on his cheeks. "Well, I love you. I mean, love it, I LIKE IT! I like your character, but I like you too. I like you as a friend, that is, I like like you, I lo-" Lo'ak panicked and you laughed and then pressed your lips on him, feeling like he froze on the spot.
The atmosphere permeates with electrifying energy as your hearts beat in unison. In the air there is a combination of excitement and shyness, your hands landed on Lo'ak’s cheeks, caressing them gently as you tried to calm him, noticing how his eyes tapered as the kiss became a little more intimate and tangible, colliding your warm tongues. His hands wrapped around your waist, caressing it with a little fear at first, then smiling when he realized you didn’t mind. You both get lost in the moment, forgetting everything else. The sea breeze caressed your faces, while the waves broke on the shore like a melody in the background, amplifying the magic of the moment. As you gently parted, he bit your lip slightly. Your looks met again, filled with joy, gratitude and a silent promise of something. Your thumbs on his cheeks rubbed slightly against his skin before you started talking. "I like you too, and not just as a friend." You whispered on his lips, blushing slightly. "I mean that I really like you, like I love you. if I didn’t understand it" You laughed softly and then slightly detached yourself from him, dropping the grip you had on his face, glad tat you finally told him. "From the first night when I discovered you and talked to you. I liked you. You looked like a helpless, shy baby Tulkun who preferred to stay hidden. You were very cute and you still are, to be honest." Lo'ak listened to you in silence, incredulous at how you were declaring yourself so naturally, as if you were talking about the most basic thing. "And I like that you’re so different from me, that you look like a bad guy from the outside, even when I run into you in the village. Swollen chest and high head, like I want to prove something to someone, even though I feel like the real you is the shy, sensitive one I’ve come to know. I thought I should tell you" Your eyes fell on Lo'ak’s, before being taken from his face and brought back in a sweet kiss. "I…" Lo'ak whispered as he pulled away from your lips, finding it already an addiction. "Me too… I like, love you y/n. Your voice, your hair, your laugh… Ma Eywa, you’re so amazing and so spontaneous. You make me feel less alone and at home, even though I remain silent listening to you sing or talk" He said with confidence as he looked you in the eyes. "And it’s so fucking liberating to think that I’m not the only one who feels that way. I think you somehow bewitched me with your voice" He smiled and then let you rest on his chest, lying on the sand.
"Even bewitched you? Anyway, you’re right, I’m amazing, which is why you should ask me to be your partner." You admitted while you were watching the stars. He coughed and thanked himself for putting you on his chest so you wouldn’t see the embarrassment on his face. "it’s true. Don’t you know that the best is taken immediately? is a piece of advice. You could ask me now, in case it’s a yes, just to let you know." Lo'ak laughed spontaneously and then held you close to him, wrapping his arms around your body, sniffing the sweet scent of salt in your hair. "Y/n, will you be my girlfriend?" From his voice it could be seen that he was trying to stay serious without laughing at the absurdity of the situation, and from the way you had practically fed him the words. "Yes, of course I do." You smiled, satisfied, and then played with the armband that faded, brushing the feather and relaxing on him. "It wasn’t that hard, was it?" "You are really… I have no words to describe you, ma yawntutsyìp." You interrupted him, raising your face to look at him. "Mhhh, maybe…Yours? Extraordinary? An excellent singer? Yes, they are all already confirmed things" Lo'ak laughed and gently stroked your side and then left a kiss on your head.

EvolutionGear IS-EG NGAL Laser Aiming Module
For those of you that shake your fist to the heavens cursing L3Harris for not releasing a civilian version of their famed NGAL, you're probably at least tangentially familiar with EvolutionGear -
They do the OEM parts manufacturing for InvisibleSight, who offers a higher quality level of QC, but is infamous for their astonishingly long lead times.
EvolutionGear sells the 'cheaper' version of the IS-EG NGAL which you can buy direct from them if you wanna bypass the year-long inspection wait and don't need all the different options offered through InvisibleSight.
Before I get into the details of the unit itself, I'd like to clear up a lot of myths about EG - the common consensus about them is that they're known for not shipping their items, but from my own research, I really could only find an evidence case of one from a dude who was dumb enough to order during Chinese New Year and threw a tantrum when it took longer than expected to receive a tracking.
I opted for the more expensive UPS shipping option, and while it was kinda awkward having to wait for a live representative to email me a paypal invoice rather than going though a site-based payment portal, I didn't have any issues ordering from them and everything arrived within a week of receiving a tracking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here's where I'll get into the initial impressions.
The body of the unit is forged 6061 aluminum, and unlike the Somogear NGAL's, these actually have recoil lugs integrated into the body with a proper L3Harris-style screw clamp, as opposed to the crappy PEQ15 clamp the Somo units have.
The selector switch, I find somewhat mushy (due to the integral o-ring added for waterproofing), but still tactile enough to satisfy me, and the button has a positive enough click for my needs as well. The rear focus knob for the IR illuminator is a little bit stiff, but no major red flags about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another nice feature of the EG NGAL is the fact it includes actual diffuser caps whereas the Somo units are only provided with blackout covers. The visible potting of the unit seems very well-done and I'm definitely excited to see how well this holds up considering EG touts this as a 5.56-capable laser where Somogear continues to scream "airsoft only" from the rooftops.
Tumblr media
The unit included two different sets of stickers (one laminated, one not, interestingly) as well as a pressure pad and an eggcrate-padded plastic storage case.
The pressure pad is where I'm going to focus a majority of my initial critique.
On the website, EvolutionGear claims they offer the option of an LA23 Plug or an ATPIAL Crane Plug version. I triple checked that I'd be receiving a crane-ported NGAL, and the customer service acknowledged this.
The switch they provided is an LA23 version and upon testing the port with a surplus Insight PEQ-2 Pressure Pad, there was no function from the laser, meaning my request was completely disregarded and I'd been given an LA23-ported version instead.
Not a humongous deal to me, but it would have been nice to have a wider choice of aftermarket switches instead of proprietary ones that cost 100-300 fucking dollars.
Anywho, the switch they include is what I'd describe as solidly "meh" - it feels like a very cheap silicone, the click is positive enough, but the cable is visibly hot glued in and it's just left me wishing that Somogear offered their fantastic Modbutton Lite knock-offs a la carte.
Might email them later to see if I can get one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The build it resides on presently is my FDE A2 Retromod, and despite being an offset beam unit, I still find the lasers are just a little too close to a standard FSB for my comfort.
I plan on possibly doing a URG-I build out of my Colt LE6920 in the near future, so this is definitely not the build the EG NGAL is staying on forever.
Later I'll give it a look under NODs and see how that goes.

Neutrophil gelatinase-associated Lipocalin
Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin is a protein that is primarily expressed in neutrophils, a type of white blood cell, as well as other cells such as kidney tubular cells.
One of the well-known applications of Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin is in the early diagnosis and monitoring of acute kidney injury (AKI). NGAL levels increase rapidly in response to kidney injury and can be detected in blood and urine. Measurement of uNGAL levels can aid in the early detection and prediction of AKI, facilitating prompt intervention and management. NGAL has also been studied in other conditions Neutrophil gelatinase-associated Lipocalin, such as cardiovascular diseases, sepsis, and various types of cancer. Its association with inflammation and tissue damage makes it a potential biomarker for assessing disease severity and prognosis. Research is ongoing to explore the full range of NGAL's functions and its potential as a diagnostic and therapeutic target in various medical conditions.

Alien 💗love💗
Tumblr media
First chapter, young love
Pairing: Grace Augustine x na’vi y/n
Summary: when the sky people came y/n was forced to find a mate. Her parents found one that they loved for y/n. She ran away from the night to find the sky people, she falls in love with Grace but when she came back home her parents immediately band her from meeting them. A couple years later she finally meets them again.
Warnings: Na’vi language, humans being called sky people- sometimes even demons, cussing, words like mate & mated
Y/n’s thoughts: blue
Na’vi words in English: red
Tumblr media
A couple months ago, the Sky People first landed on Pandora, most of the Na’vi were curious but also deeply afraid. To stay safe from the strange intruders, they remained close to their Hometree, wary of these unfamiliar beings.
Y/n was one of the younger Na’vi in her clan. She was admired for her remarkable skills as both a singer and a hunter. Despite her talents, to her parents’ dismay, Y/n had shown no interest in finding a mate. She couldn’t fathom the idea of settling down or having children—she felt far too young for that kind of life. Her parents, however, had other plans.
Determined to see her mated, they began introducing her to potential partners. One man, Rävo’nak, particularly caught their favor. Without consulting Y/n, they promised her to him. But Y/n wanted nothing to do with him. Disgusted by the entire arrangement, she decided to escape—if only for a little while. That evening, she slipped away into the forest to clear her head.
As she wandered under the bioluminescent glow of the trees, Y/n noticed movement ahead. Two figures were standing in a clearing. Confused, she hesitated. “Why would Na’vi be out here so late? Shouldn’t they be at Hometree?” She crept closer, carefully hiding behind the trunks of the great trees. What she saw astonished her.
The two figures looked like Na’vi but… different. They wore strange clothing, and their feet were covered in unfamiliar objects. Y/n’s curiosity outweighed her caution as she inched closer, her movements as light as a feather to avoid being detected. But a sudden snap of a twig betrayed her. The figures froze and turned in her direction.
Y/n’s heart raced as she ducked behind a tree, but before she could fully recover, a strong hand grabbed her arm and pulled her into the open.
“‘Ak!” she cried out, flinching in pain.
The figures, now up close, didn’t seem like Na’vi at all. Their features were subtly different, their movements alien. Y/n hissed in warning and tried to bite the man holding her, but he restrained her with an iron grip, grabbing her face to keep her from lashing out. Her tail swished furiously as she struggled to free herself.
The man turned to the female figure, speaking in a strange language that Y/n couldn’t understand. “We should take her back to the lab to run some tests. We need more Na’vi blood; supplies are running low.”
The woman scoffed and immediately intervened, pulling Y/n out of the man’s grip. “Absolutely not! We won’t do such a thing. The only reason we had that blood was due to a mistake on our end.”
The woman knelt to Y/n’s level and released her arm. Y/n backed away, crouching in a defensive position with her knife drawn. The woman sighed, raising her hands in a gesture of peace.
“I’m not here to hurt you,” she said softly. Realizing the language barrier, she adjusted her approach, placing two fingers between her eyes and extending her hand forward. “I see you.”
Y/n hesitated before mirroring the gesture. “Oel ngati kameie,” she replied cautiously.
The woman smiled warmly and switched to a language Y/n could understand. “Oel ngati ke tse’a futa rolar mì nga, ma ‘itesyip. Lu nga ketsran?” (I’m sorry that we scared you, little one. Are you okay?)
The gentle tone eased Y/n’s tension. She tilted her head as the woman patted her gently on the head. Though puzzled by the gesture, she found herself liking it.
“Oe lu Grace. Siä ngal?” (I’m Grace. What about you?)
Y/n’s ears twitched as she pushed Grace’s hand away. “Oe lu Y/n!”
Grace nodded, but the man beside her still seemed tense. “What is she saying, Doctor?”
Grace rolled her eyes. “She told me her name. Calm down.”
The man scoffed, crossing his arms. “Well, we need information from her, or she’s useless!”
Grace narrowed her eyes at him, her disapproval evident. Y/n, picking up on the body language, flicked her ears curiously. Grace turned back to Y/n, her expression softening.
“Ulte oel tsap’alute fwa ma Mathew. Fwa po lu txumri, ke ftum fwa.” (I’m sorry about my friend Mathew. He’s quite the buzzkill.)
Y/n giggled. “Po zene tokx-it tswayon sìk!” (He seems to have a huge stick up his ass!)
Grace chuckled, earning a suspicious glare from Mathew. “I feel like you’re both talking about me,” he grumbled.
“Maybe you should learn the language better,” Grace shot back with a smirk.
As Mathew muttered to himself, Y/n’s attention drifted to Grace’s clothing. She reached out, marveling at the soft, colorful fabric. Grace noticed and, with a chuckle, removed her green jacket, draping it over Y/n’s shoulders.
“Nga tsun tìyawn fì’u nìtxan nìlaw oeru.” (You would like this more than me.)
Y/n’s eyes lit up. She stood and twirled, showing off the jacket as though it were a treasure. She couldn’t wait to show her parents! “Why were they so afraid of the Sky People? They seemed kind.”
Grace rose to her feet, gently pulling Mathew along. With a polite bow, she began to walk away. Y/n watched them disappear into the forest, her ears drooping slightly in sadness when she realized they were gone.
Y/n ran back home, her face lit with joy. She darted past Rävo’nak and straight to her parents, who were talking to her sister. “Etuwa, Sa’nok, Sempu!” she called excitedly. Her father, mother, and sister all turned to her, their expressions shifting to relief. They had feared Y/n had run away for good and would never return.
Her mother, Tsahìk Asahe, rushed to her and enveloped her in a tight embrace, her worry evident. “Oeyä ’ite, oe lu oeru san fwa oe soli txoa! Fwa nga za’u teri nì’it?” (“My daughter, I was so worried! Why did you run away?”).
Y/n gently pulled back from her mother and performed the respectful Na’vi greeting. Her parents and sister returned the gesture, though concern lingered on their faces.
“Sawtute-” (“The Sky People-”), Y/n began, but her father, the Olo’eyktan, immediately tensed. His worry turned to fury. “Keaun sawtute ngaru, oeyä ’ite?” (“Did the Sky People hurt you, my daughter?”), he asked sharply.
Y/n quickly shook her head, her voice hurried and defensive. “Kehe, Sempu! Fayu lu txantsan nìtxan ayngaru! Mina tokx fwa oel ke’ut nìftue!” (“No, father! They were so nice to me! One of them even gave me this thing!”).
She gestured to the green leather jacket draped over her shoulders, her smile radiant as she waited for her father’s approval. But instead of softening, his frown deepened. Without a word, he grabbed the jacket from her, making her yelp in surprise.
“Nga txopu oeru sìltsan, oeyä ’ite. Sawtute lu kefyak fwa rolunayä sivi!” (“You disappointed me, daughter. The Sky People are not people to befriend!”).
Y/n’s ears drooped, and her eyes filled with tears. “Sempu…” she whispered, her voice trembling, but her father only glared at her before turning and walking away.
Her mother sighed deeply, placing a hand on Y/n’s shoulder. “Nga lu säspxin nìteng piveng fwa keftxo nawnit txo fwa tawey’it ayoeng teri sawtuteng kehe piveng fpi!” (“You are banned from meeting them ever again!”).
She followed her husband, and Y/n’s sister trailed after them without a word. Left alone, Y/n tried to stifle her tears, but they fell freely as she stood there, clutching the ground beneath her feet in silent anguish.
Tumblr media
A couple of years had passed since the Sky People first arrived, and Y/n now fully understood why they were so dangerous. Despite this, she had learned some English from the Na’vi children who attended Grace’s school. She longed to see Grace again, but her parents forbade it, insisting she stay close to Rävo’nak. Her hopes were further crushed when the school shut down after Sky People attacked, killing Na’vi children.
Y/n’s older sister, meanwhile, was promised to a man destined to become the next clan leader. Y/n didn’t understand why her parents were so insistent on her finding a mate when her sister already had such an important union. Regardless, her parents forced her to spend time with Rävo’nak, whom Y/n deeply resented.
One day, while out hunting for fruits and meat with Rävo’nak, Y/n wandered farther from him than he liked—not that she cared about his opinion. She clicked her tongue softly, waiting for one of the animals to take the bait. Suddenly, she noticed three figures in the distance. Narrowing her eyes, she realized they were Na’vi—but something about them was off. They had strange devices in their hands, and Y/n quickly recognized them as demons in Na’vi skin.
Without hesitation, she grabbed her knife and lunged at one of the men, slashing his arm. He cried out in pain before striking her across the face with the back of his gun. Y/n fell to the forest floor, coughing up blood but glaring at the man with defiance. She readied herself to attack again but froze when her eyes landed on the woman.
Her ears perked up in recognition. It was Grace!
Dropping her aggression, Y/n ran past the men and threw herself into Grace’s arms. “Grace!” she cried, surprising the woman, who caught her just in time.
“What are you doing here, Y/n?” Grace asked, though a smile soon spread across her face. “You’ve grown so much!”
Y/n beamed with pride. “I learned demon talk!” she said in English, her tail swishing back and forth. Grace chuckled softly, patting Y/n’s head, making the younger Na’vi melt under her touch.
The two men stared in confusion, prompting Y/n to hiss at them. Grace sighed, gently breaking away from Y/n’s embrace.
“Calm down, Y/n. These two are my friends—well…” she glanced at the man with the gun and sighed, “one of them is more like a forced acquaintance.”
“Hey!” the man protested, pouting.
Grace gestured to him. “That’s Jake,” she said, then pointed to the other man. “And this is Max. He was helping me with the iPad.”
Y/n nodded but kept her focus on Grace, her admiration shining in her eyes. Just as the group continued their conversation, Rävo’nak appeared, bow drawn and ready to fire.
“Stay away from my mate, demons!” he growled, aiming at them.
Y/n spun around and glared at Rävo’nak. “I’m not your mate, Rävo’nak! We haven’t mated yet!”
Her words only fueled Rävo’nak’s anger, though he kept his bow steady, determined to protect her from the Sky People. Jake looked at Grace, clearly baffled.
“Uh… are they like animals? They keep talking about mating,” he muttered.
Grace shot him a withering glare and elbowed him in the ribs. “It’s a sacred bond for the Na’vi. Don’t talk like that, kid.”
Rävo’nak hissed aggressively, baring his teeth. Y/n tensed and hissed back, her tail swishing angrily.
Grace raised her hand, placing two fingers between her eyes and extending them outward in the Na’vi gesture of peace. Rävo’nak ignored her completely, which only irritated Y/n further.
“Go, Rävo’nak! You’ve already gathered food for the clan. Leave!” she ordered.
Rävo’nak’s ears flattened slightly, but he shook his head. “You’re coming with me, Y/n, or I’ll tell Olo’eyktan”—their clan leader and Y/n’s father—“that you’ve been speaking with the Sky People!”
Y/n growled low in her throat, her body tense. “Fine!”
Rävo’nak extended his hand for her to take, but before leaving, Y/n leaned closer to Grace and whispered something in her ear. Then, with great reluctance, she took Rävo’nak’s hand and followed him into the forest.
Jake and Max turned to Grace, eyebrows raised in curiosity. “What did she say?” Jake asked.
Grace sighed, slipping a sample of a flower into her bag. “She told me to meet her here tonight. I have a bad feeling about this…”
After I watched both Avatar movies I completely fell in love with Grace! Please I need her?!
