So I can pretty much confirm at this point the WADSN bootleg Hot Buttons are just better than the originals.
Pros:
- Dirt fucking cheap - $25 each instead of fucking $95 each.
- Cables are nice and flexible - unity cables are too stiff.
- The MLOK versions actually have enough body clearance to tuck the cable against the base of the top rail if mounted on the 45-degree MLOK slots of something like a Geissele Mk16 rail.
- Buttons aren't too sensitive, there's a nice 'wall' before the constant-on clicky function so momentary presses are much easier. Surface has a nice texture compared to the smooth Unity ones.
- The anodizing and CNC work on these cheap, Chinese bootlegs is somehow cleaner than legit Unity Hot Buttons.
- Surefire plug versions are actually nice and tight - no play or flickering, which is more than can be said for a lot of legit Surefire plugs.
- Crane plug versions are actually compatible with Steiner laser units without prolapsing their ports.
- You can buy versions without logos so your switchology isn't a goddamn billboard.
- These aren't discontinued; they're all over ebay and aliexpress (for the time being).
- The FDE anodized version ACTUALLY looks like FDE and pairs with Geissele DDC quite well as opposed that honey mustard golden garbage finish that Unity uses on their products.
Cons:
- The screw and nut sets the MLOK versions come with are absolute trash - replace them at your earliest possible convenience (I'll let you know what I end up using).
- The body tolerances of MLOK versions are a little undersized - there is a bit of play in all directions, but even the shitty default screws these come with lock them down fairly well.
- Both the Surefire and Crane plug versions have a 'clicky' button - this may lead to some potential constant-on issues when using these with laser aiming modules - especially those with a double-tap constant on function.
All in all, I would wholeheartedly recommend these as white light switches if you like Unity Hot Buttons but hate the cost and the issues they come with.

Acute Kidney Injury
Acute kidney injury (AKI), previously known as acute renal failure, represents a medical emergency and encompasses a wide range of damage to the kidneys
(AKI) occurs when kidney function rapidly deteriorates, leading to an inability to maintain fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balance. It contributes to increased morbidity and mortality. The severity of AKI results in significant healthcare costs. Consequently, there is a heightened focus on identifying new biomarkers for AKI. Detecting AKI earlier would ultimately preserve lives, improve patients' quality of life globally, and reduce healthcare system expenses.

Anna Price Petyarre, born 1960s, is an Anmatyerre woman from the Boundary Bore area of the former Utopia Station, north east of Alice Springs. Anna is also known as Anna Pitjara, Anna Price and Anna Price Pitjara. She is the daughter of the late Glory Ngarla (Ngale, or Ngal) and niece to the late Emily Kame Kngwarreye.
Anna began painting in the early 1980s.
Anna initially primarily painted Yam Seed Dreaming in a colourful and intricate expression of the songs and stories associated with her plant totem, the Bush Yam, and its seeds. The Bush Yam has been a staple food and water source for the Anmatyerre people for countless years and the seeds that form and scatter from the plant are ground up to make flour for damper. During ceremony, it is Anna's duty to pay homage to the yam seeds and give thanks for their abundance and regenerative qualities. By painting to the tempo of a ceremonial song, Anna expresses her connection to her plant totem in a permanent medium.
A versatile and creative artist Anna has changed her painting style radically several times over the last decade and now concentrates on extremely finely dotted works which represent her country and its ceremonial sites at Boundary Bore.

hello! i sent an ask earlier but let me rephrase. is there any protection tablet you know of that has an every day protection incantation? i’m very spiritual and would like a phrase to write in cuneiform for my protection. I know of the word Ḫulbazizi, which is similar to “evil be gone” but could you help translate a phrase like “evil be gone, may the gods protect every step i take” thank you so much ❤️ it’s so hard to find people who understand cuneiform!
Hello! I did some sleuthing and here's what I've found. The hulbazizi incantations are a set of inscriptions that are mostly in the Akkadian language, dating to later than the Sumerian period, though they often use Sumerian words (or sometimes nonsense Sumerian-like words) in amongst the Akkadian. They most often appear on amulets and protective charms rather than full-size tablets - here's one in the Schoyen collection. They're called that from the Sumerian words hul 𒅆𒌨 "evil" + zi 𒍣 "to destroy", in the passive form bazizi 𒁀𒍣𒍣 "it is destroyed", which is used as an incipit (first words) of some of them, but doesn't appear in every one. Check out Bácskay & Niederreiter 2022 for a bunch of examples. You may also be interested in van Dijk et. al. 1985 (full text from Yale here), which has a large number of incantation spells but unfortunately isn't searchable.
My twitch chat helped me out with our own translation of the phrase you requested, though I don't know of it appearing anywhere in the cuneiform corpus of course. "Deities" is dingirene 𒀭𒊑𒉈, and "to protect" is ngal 𒅅, in the form "may (they) protect (it)" appearing as hebngalene, which I believe would be 𒃶𒅁𒅅𒂊𒉈 in cuneiform. The word for "step, footstep" in Sumerian is the same as the word for "foot", ngiri 𒄊 - and the most Sumerian-ish way I'd translate the end of the phrase is simply as "all (shar) my (-ngu) footsteps", ngirisharngu 𒄊𒊹𒈬.
Putting it together, I'd translate this phrase as Hul bazizi, dingirene ngirisharngu hebngalene "Evil be destroyed, may the deities protect all my footsteps", written 𒅆𒌨 𒁀𒍣𒍣 𒀭𒊑𒉈 𒄊𒊹𒈬 𒃶𒅁𒅅𒂊𒉈 in cuneiform. Let me know if this translation works for you!

so these screenshots originally posted by Karyu Tekre over on Discord show why you should never use auto-translators or AI to translate Na'vi: it's pretty much always wrong.
In these images we see ChatGPT and Google Translate attempt to give a translation for the comment following comment:
ma Wllìm, pelun ngal zene Tekreti steykivi?
The correct translation for this phrase should be this:
Wllìm, why must you make Tekre angry?
(...or, well, technically the original sentence should've used nga instead of ngal; the -L ending gets dropped in modal constructions (with some rare exceptions), that's the grammar mistake Tekre mentions in the first ChatGPT image...which, as you can see, the AI failed to correctly identify.)
But instead of this, Google and ChatGPT give us a whole variety of incorrect answers:
"ma Wllìm, with whom do you stay?" "but Wllìm, where did you live?" "but Wllìm, with this zene Tekreti stayed" "William, why do you need to close the door?" "William, why do you keep telling the same stories?"
...as you can see, none of those are even remotely close to the correct answer, nor are they even consistent!
ChatGPT seems to do ok-ish when asked for single words—it got most (but not all) of the individual definitions correct—but once it tries to put those words into full sentences or explain the grammar, everything falls apart and it starts spouting absolute nonsense.
basically, it's absolute crap for translating full sentences or learning grammar, might be ok-ish for translating individual words but for that you can just as easily use any Na'vi dictionary and get far more reliable accurate results, so uh...yeah seriously, just don't bother with trying to use ChatGPT or other AI for this 😅

EvolutionGear IS-EG NGAL Laser Aiming Module
For those of you that shake your fist to the heavens cursing L3Harris for not releasing a civilian version of their famed NGAL, you're probably at least tangentially familiar with EvolutionGear -
They do the OEM parts manufacturing for InvisibleSight, who offers a higher quality level of QC, but is infamous for their astonishingly long lead times.
EvolutionGear sells the 'cheaper' version of the IS-EG NGAL which you can buy direct from them if you wanna bypass the year-long inspection wait and don't need all the different options offered through InvisibleSight.
Before I get into the details of the unit itself, I'd like to clear up a lot of myths about EG - the common consensus about them is that they're known for not shipping their items, but from my own research, I really could only find an evidence case of one from a dude who was dumb enough to order during Chinese New Year and threw a tantrum when it took longer than expected to receive a tracking.
I opted for the more expensive UPS shipping option, and while it was kinda awkward having to wait for a live representative to email me a paypal invoice rather than going though a site-based payment portal, I didn't have any issues ordering from them and everything arrived within a week of receiving a tracking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here's where I'll get into the initial impressions.
The body of the unit is forged 6061 aluminum, and unlike the Somogear NGAL's, these actually have recoil lugs integrated into the body with a proper L3Harris-style screw clamp, as opposed to the crappy PEQ15 clamp the Somo units have.
The selector switch, I find somewhat mushy (due to the integral o-ring added for waterproofing), but still tactile enough to satisfy me, and the button has a positive enough click for my needs as well. The rear focus knob for the IR illuminator is a little bit stiff, but no major red flags about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another nice feature of the EG NGAL is the fact it includes actual diffuser caps whereas the Somo units are only provided with blackout covers. The visible potting of the unit seems very well-done and I'm definitely excited to see how well this holds up considering EG touts this as a 5.56-capable laser where Somogear continues to scream "airsoft only" from the rooftops.
Tumblr media
The unit included two different sets of stickers (one laminated, one not, interestingly) as well as a pressure pad and an eggcrate-padded plastic storage case.
The pressure pad is where I'm going to focus a majority of my initial critique.
On the website, EvolutionGear claims they offer the option of an LA23 Plug or an ATPIAL Crane Plug version. I triple checked that I'd be receiving a crane-ported NGAL, and the customer service acknowledged this.
The switch they provided is an LA23 version and upon testing the port with a surplus Insight PEQ-2 Pressure Pad, there was no function from the laser, meaning my request was completely disregarded and I'd been given an LA23-ported version instead.
Not a humongous deal to me, but it would have been nice to have a wider choice of aftermarket switches instead of proprietary ones that cost 100-300 fucking dollars.
Anywho, the switch they include is what I'd describe as solidly "meh" - it feels like a very cheap silicone, the click is positive enough, but the cable is visibly hot glued in and it's just left me wishing that Somogear offered their fantastic Modbutton Lite knock-offs a la carte.
Might email them later to see if I can get one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The build it resides on presently is my FDE A2 Retromod, and despite being an offset beam unit, I still find the lasers are just a little too close to a standard FSB for my comfort.
I plan on possibly doing a URG-I build out of my Colt LE6920 in the near future, so this is definitely not the build the EG NGAL is staying on forever.
Later I'll give it a look under NODs and see how that goes.

Neutrophil gelatinase-associated Lipocalin
Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin is a protein that is primarily expressed in neutrophils, a type of white blood cell, as well as other cells such as kidney tubular cells.
One of the well-known applications of Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin is in the early diagnosis and monitoring of acute kidney injury (AKI). NGAL levels increase rapidly in response to kidney injury and can be detected in blood and urine. Measurement of uNGAL levels can aid in the early detection and prediction of AKI, facilitating prompt intervention and management. NGAL has also been studied in other conditions Neutrophil gelatinase-associated Lipocalin, such as cardiovascular diseases, sepsis, and various types of cancer. Its association with inflammation and tissue damage makes it a potential biomarker for assessing disease severity and prognosis. Research is ongoing to explore the full range of NGAL's functions and its potential as a diagnostic and therapeutic target in various medical conditions.

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞.
Well, you and the other native hunters brought Takuma to Hometree, where you all approached this older Na'vi dude with those weird shoulder piece on.
"Ma'sempul, Oel ngati kameie (Father, I see you)" you say to the older man, doing a weird hand gesture from your forehead out to him.
"Fìswiräti, ngal pelun molunge fìtseng? (This creature, why did you bring him here?)" Your father replied.
"Oel pot tspìmìyang, tsakrr za'u aungia ta Eywa (I was going to kill him, but there was a sign from Eywa)" you replied.
"Poltxe oe, san zene kea uniltìranyu, ke ziva'u fìtseng. (I have said 'No dreamwalker will come here'.)" Your father replied.
"Ketepeu fahew akewong. (His alien scent fills my nose.)" You father said.
"What's he saying?" Takuma asked.
"My father is deciding whether to kill you." You said, like it was the most casual thing in the world.
"Your father..?" Takuma hummed. He stepped forward, holding his hand out for a handshake with the older man.
"It's nice to meet you sir-" but he was cut off by you and the other Na'vi hunters yelling at him.
"Kehe! (No!)" You hissed.
"Tsaswiräti lonu! Aynga neto rivikx! (Release this creature! Step back!)" An older woman's voice spoke up, making you and the other warriors pause.
"Fìketuwongti oel stìyeftxaw. (I will look at this alien.)" She said, walking towards Takuma.
"That is mother... She is Tsahik, the one who interprets the will of Eywa." You explain softly.
"Who's Eywa?" Takuma asked cluelessly.
Your mother inspected him before standing in front of him.
"What are you called?" She demanded.
"Takuma Ino..." He replied, his gaze shifting to you every once in a while.
"Why have you come to us?" She asked.
'Play it smart, Takuma.' He thought to himself.
"I came to learn." He replied.
"We have tried to teach other sky people.. It is hard to fill a cup which already full." Your mother replied. (She just called the humans dumb lmao)
"Well- my cup is empty... Trust me, just ask Dr. Nanami, I'm no scientist-" Takuma replied.
"What are you?" Your mother asked him.
"I was a marine.... A warrior- of the... Jarhead Clan..." He said, making shit up on the spot.
"Tsamsiyu pak? Pot tsun oe tspivang nìftue! (A warrior? I could kill him easily!)" Naoya spoke up, but your father interrupted him.
"Kehe. (No.)" He said.
"Fìpo lu 'awvea, uniltìranyu-tsamsiyu, a tsole'a awngal. (This is the first warrior dreamwalker we have seen.)" Your father spoke.
"Pori awngaru lu tìkin, a nume nì'ul. (We need to learn more about him.)" He continued.
Your mother walked closer to you.
"Maite, awngeyä fya'ori zene nga sänume sivi poru... (My daughter, you will teach him our way.)" She said.
"fte tsivun pivlltxe sì tivìran na ayoeng (to speak and walk as we do.)" She said.
"Oeru Pelun? Ke lu muiä.. (Why me? That's not fair...)" You replied.
"Fkol pole'un fì'ut. (It is decided.)" Your mother said firmly, holding a hand up.
"Wiya! (Dammit!)" You exclaimed in irritation.
"It is decided. My daughter will teach you our ways." You mother said to Takuma.
"Learn well, Takuma Ino. And we'll see if your insanity... Can be cured." She said.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
After getting him dressed in a loincloth, you brought Takuma over to where the clan was eating dinner around a fire.
You guided him to an empty spot, shoving him down onto the ground slightly before crouching into a sitting position yourself, grabbing some food.
"Y'know... I'd outta know your name..." Takuma said as you handed him some food.
"Y/n te tskaha y/m/n'ite. (Y/n of Tskaha, daughter of y/m/n (ʸᵒᵘʳ ᵐᵒᵐ'ˢ ⁿᵃᵐᵉ))" You said.
Takuma looked confused.
"Again, a whole lot slower?" He asked.
"Y/n." You replied, eating some food.
"Y.. /n." He hummed, trying to pronounce it correctly.
"y/n." You said.
"Y/n..." He said, pronouncing it correctly this time.
"Well.. It's nice to meet your, Y/n." He said, eating some food.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
The next day, you two were out in an open field, you were showing Takuma how to ride direhorses.
You gently walked a direhorse over by its reins, speaking to it softly;
"Sìltsan, Pale, Sìltsan.. (Good, Pale, (ᵖᵃˡ-ᵉʰ) good.)
"Easy boy..." Takuma said to the horse.
"Pale is female." You corrected.
"Oh. Easy girl." He said.
Takuma hiked himself up onto the animal, grabbing his Kuru and connecting it to the horse's.
"This is tsaheylu. The bond." You said.
"Feel her. Feel her breath. Her strong legs. Inside." You said, pointing to your head.
Takuma closed his eyes for a moment before opening them again.
You stepped back a bit.
"You may tell her where to go." You instructed.
"Uhh- forward." Takuma said, and the horse began moving.
He fell off. Into the mud.
You laughed, running off to go catch Pale.
Naoya approached on a horse.
"You should go away." Naoya said to Takuma.
"Nah, you'd miss me." Takuma replied.
"I knew you could speak english." He said.
"Fìketuwongìl ke nayume ke'ut. (This alien will learn nothing.)" Naoya said to you.
"Nì'ul kame tskxe. Poru tìng nari. (A rock sees more. Look at him.)" Naoya said.
"Kä. (Go.)" You say, patting his horse making it go away.
You turn back to Takuma.
"Again." You say.

What is it to be Na’vi?
It is connection - with Na’vi, with animals, with plants, with the world. A hundred threads, no, a thousand, between a thousand creatures, Like stars that spread across the night sky, Divided yet together, parts of one thing. It is to know that you belong, No matter what happens, no matter where you go.
It is survival, in a world beautiful and cruel. Pandora gives us all we need to live, But also gives these things to all her children. Sometimes you are the gift to another creature. The Great Mother does not do favors for one child more than another. Her children survive by their own strength and intelligence. As we live in Eywa, so we die in Eywa. To remove her teeth and claws would be to destroy her.
It is to live together with all creatures. To bond and to See, To commune with Eywa and with the world. Never take more than you need. Respect all creatures as your siblings.
It is grace and strength, running and leaping, Blue skin, eight fingers, Ears and tail in order to speak, Bioluminescence to glow like the world, Kuru to See it.
What is it to be Na’vi? How does one become Na’vi? I reach for you, O Great Mother, Show your child how to return home.

Alien 💗love💗
Tumblr media
First chapter, young love
Pairing: Grace Augustine x na’vi y/n
Summary: when the sky people came y/n was forced to find a mate. Her parents found one that they loved for y/n. She ran away from the night to find the sky people, she falls in love with Grace but when she came back home her parents immediately band her from meeting them. A couple years later she finally meets them again.
Warnings: Na’vi language, humans being called sky people- sometimes even demons, cussing, words like mate & mated
Y/n’s thoughts: blue
Na’vi words in English: red
Tumblr media
A couple months ago, the Sky People first landed on Pandora, most of the Na’vi were curious but also deeply afraid. To stay safe from the strange intruders, they remained close to their Hometree, wary of these unfamiliar beings.
Y/n was one of the younger Na’vi in her clan. She was admired for her remarkable skills as both a singer and a hunter. Despite her talents, to her parents’ dismay, Y/n had shown no interest in finding a mate. She couldn’t fathom the idea of settling down or having children—she felt far too young for that kind of life. Her parents, however, had other plans.
Determined to see her mated, they began introducing her to potential partners. One man, Rävo’nak, particularly caught their favor. Without consulting Y/n, they promised her to him. But Y/n wanted nothing to do with him. Disgusted by the entire arrangement, she decided to escape—if only for a little while. That evening, she slipped away into the forest to clear her head.
As she wandered under the bioluminescent glow of the trees, Y/n noticed movement ahead. Two figures were standing in a clearing. Confused, she hesitated. “Why would Na’vi be out here so late? Shouldn’t they be at Hometree?” She crept closer, carefully hiding behind the trunks of the great trees. What she saw astonished her.
The two figures looked like Na’vi but… different. They wore strange clothing, and their feet were covered in unfamiliar objects. Y/n’s curiosity outweighed her caution as she inched closer, her movements as light as a feather to avoid being detected. But a sudden snap of a twig betrayed her. The figures froze and turned in her direction.
Y/n’s heart raced as she ducked behind a tree, but before she could fully recover, a strong hand grabbed her arm and pulled her into the open.
“‘Ak!” she cried out, flinching in pain.
The figures, now up close, didn’t seem like Na’vi at all. Their features were subtly different, their movements alien. Y/n hissed in warning and tried to bite the man holding her, but he restrained her with an iron grip, grabbing her face to keep her from lashing out. Her tail swished furiously as she struggled to free herself.
The man turned to the female figure, speaking in a strange language that Y/n couldn’t understand. “We should take her back to the lab to run some tests. We need more Na’vi blood; supplies are running low.”
The woman scoffed and immediately intervened, pulling Y/n out of the man’s grip. “Absolutely not! We won’t do such a thing. The only reason we had that blood was due to a mistake on our end.”
The woman knelt to Y/n’s level and released her arm. Y/n backed away, crouching in a defensive position with her knife drawn. The woman sighed, raising her hands in a gesture of peace.
“I’m not here to hurt you,” she said softly. Realizing the language barrier, she adjusted her approach, placing two fingers between her eyes and extending her hand forward. “I see you.”
Y/n hesitated before mirroring the gesture. “Oel ngati kameie,” she replied cautiously.
The woman smiled warmly and switched to a language Y/n could understand. “Oel ngati ke tse’a futa rolar mì nga, ma ‘itesyip. Lu nga ketsran?” (I’m sorry that we scared you, little one. Are you okay?)
The gentle tone eased Y/n’s tension. She tilted her head as the woman patted her gently on the head. Though puzzled by the gesture, she found herself liking it.
“Oe lu Grace. Siä ngal?” (I’m Grace. What about you?)
Y/n’s ears twitched as she pushed Grace’s hand away. “Oe lu Y/n!”
Grace nodded, but the man beside her still seemed tense. “What is she saying, Doctor?”
Grace rolled her eyes. “She told me her name. Calm down.”
The man scoffed, crossing his arms. “Well, we need information from her, or she’s useless!”
Grace narrowed her eyes at him, her disapproval evident. Y/n, picking up on the body language, flicked her ears curiously. Grace turned back to Y/n, her expression softening.
“Ulte oel tsap’alute fwa ma Mathew. Fwa po lu txumri, ke ftum fwa.” (I’m sorry about my friend Mathew. He’s quite the buzzkill.)
Y/n giggled. “Po zene tokx-it tswayon sìk!” (He seems to have a huge stick up his ass!)
Grace chuckled, earning a suspicious glare from Mathew. “I feel like you’re both talking about me,” he grumbled.
“Maybe you should learn the language better,” Grace shot back with a smirk.
As Mathew muttered to himself, Y/n’s attention drifted to Grace’s clothing. She reached out, marveling at the soft, colorful fabric. Grace noticed and, with a chuckle, removed her green jacket, draping it over Y/n’s shoulders.
“Nga tsun tìyawn fì’u nìtxan nìlaw oeru.” (You would like this more than me.)
Y/n’s eyes lit up. She stood and twirled, showing off the jacket as though it were a treasure. She couldn’t wait to show her parents! “Why were they so afraid of the Sky People? They seemed kind.”
Grace rose to her feet, gently pulling Mathew along. With a polite bow, she began to walk away. Y/n watched them disappear into the forest, her ears drooping slightly in sadness when she realized they were gone.
Y/n ran back home, her face lit with joy. She darted past Rävo’nak and straight to her parents, who were talking to her sister. “Etuwa, Sa’nok, Sempu!” she called excitedly. Her father, mother, and sister all turned to her, their expressions shifting to relief. They had feared Y/n had run away for good and would never return.
Her mother, Tsahìk Asahe, rushed to her and enveloped her in a tight embrace, her worry evident. “Oeyä ’ite, oe lu oeru san fwa oe soli txoa! Fwa nga za’u teri nì’it?” (“My daughter, I was so worried! Why did you run away?”).
Y/n gently pulled back from her mother and performed the respectful Na’vi greeting. Her parents and sister returned the gesture, though concern lingered on their faces.
“Sawtute-” (“The Sky People-”), Y/n began, but her father, the Olo’eyktan, immediately tensed. His worry turned to fury. “Keaun sawtute ngaru, oeyä ’ite?” (“Did the Sky People hurt you, my daughter?”), he asked sharply.
Y/n quickly shook her head, her voice hurried and defensive. “Kehe, Sempu! Fayu lu txantsan nìtxan ayngaru! Mina tokx fwa oel ke’ut nìftue!” (“No, father! They were so nice to me! One of them even gave me this thing!”).
She gestured to the green leather jacket draped over her shoulders, her smile radiant as she waited for her father’s approval. But instead of softening, his frown deepened. Without a word, he grabbed the jacket from her, making her yelp in surprise.
“Nga txopu oeru sìltsan, oeyä ’ite. Sawtute lu kefyak fwa rolunayä sivi!” (“You disappointed me, daughter. The Sky People are not people to befriend!”).
Y/n’s ears drooped, and her eyes filled with tears. “Sempu…” she whispered, her voice trembling, but her father only glared at her before turning and walking away.
Her mother sighed deeply, placing a hand on Y/n’s shoulder. “Nga lu säspxin nìteng piveng fwa keftxo nawnit txo fwa tawey’it ayoeng teri sawtuteng kehe piveng fpi!” (“You are banned from meeting them ever again!”).
She followed her husband, and Y/n’s sister trailed after them without a word. Left alone, Y/n tried to stifle her tears, but they fell freely as she stood there, clutching the ground beneath her feet in silent anguish.

A couple of years had passed since the Sky People first arrived, and Y/n now fully understood why they were so dangerous. Despite this, she had learned some English from the Na’vi children who attended Grace’s school. She longed to see Grace again, but her parents forbade it, insisting she stay close to Rävo’nak. Her hopes were further crushed when the school shut down after Sky People attacked, killing Na’vi children.
Y/n’s older sister, meanwhile, was promised to a man destined to become the next clan leader. Y/n didn’t understand why her parents were so insistent on her finding a mate when her sister already had such an important union. Regardless, her parents forced her to spend time with Rävo’nak, whom Y/n deeply resented.
One day, while out hunting for fruits and meat with Rävo’nak, Y/n wandered farther from him than he liked—not that she cared about his opinion. She clicked her tongue softly, waiting for one of the animals to take the bait. Suddenly, she noticed three figures in the distance. Narrowing her eyes, she realized they were Na’vi—but something about them was off. They had strange devices in their hands, and Y/n quickly recognized them as demons in Na’vi skin.
Without hesitation, she grabbed her knife and lunged at one of the men, slashing his arm. He cried out in pain before striking her across the face with the back of his gun. Y/n fell to the forest floor, coughing up blood but glaring at the man with defiance. She readied herself to attack again but froze when her eyes landed on the woman.
Her ears perked up in recognition. It was Grace!
Dropping her aggression, Y/n ran past the men and threw herself into Grace’s arms. “Grace!” she cried, surprising the woman, who caught her just in time.
“What are you doing here, Y/n?” Grace asked, though a smile soon spread across her face. “You’ve grown so much!”
Y/n beamed with pride. “I learned demon talk!” she said in English, her tail swishing back and forth. Grace chuckled softly, patting Y/n’s head, making the younger Na’vi melt under her touch.
The two men stared in confusion, prompting Y/n to hiss at them. Grace sighed, gently breaking away from Y/n’s embrace.
“Calm down, Y/n. These two are my friends—well…” she glanced at the man with the gun and sighed, “one of them is more like a forced acquaintance.”
“Hey!” the man protested, pouting.
Grace gestured to him. “That’s Jake,” she said, then pointed to the other man. “And this is Max. He was helping me with the iPad.”
Y/n nodded but kept her focus on Grace, her admiration shining in her eyes. Just as the group continued their conversation, Rävo’nak appeared, bow drawn and ready to fire.
“Stay away from my mate, demons!” he growled, aiming at them.
Y/n spun around and glared at Rävo’nak. “I’m not your mate, Rävo’nak! We haven’t mated yet!”
Her words only fueled Rävo’nak’s anger, though he kept his bow steady, determined to protect her from the Sky People. Jake looked at Grace, clearly baffled.
“Uh… are they like animals? They keep talking about mating,” he muttered.
Grace shot him a withering glare and elbowed him in the ribs. “It’s a sacred bond for the Na’vi. Don’t talk like that, kid.”
Rävo’nak hissed aggressively, baring his teeth. Y/n tensed and hissed back, her tail swishing angrily.
Grace raised her hand, placing two fingers between her eyes and extending them outward in the Na’vi gesture of peace. Rävo’nak ignored her completely, which only irritated Y/n further.
“Go, Rävo’nak! You’ve already gathered food for the clan. Leave!” she ordered.
Rävo’nak’s ears flattened slightly, but he shook his head. “You’re coming with me, Y/n, or I’ll tell Olo’eyktan”—their clan leader and Y/n’s father—“that you’ve been speaking with the Sky People!”
Y/n growled low in her throat, her body tense. “Fine!”
Rävo’nak extended his hand for her to take, but before leaving, Y/n leaned closer to Grace and whispered something in her ear. Then, with great reluctance, she took Rävo’nak’s hand and followed him into the forest.
Jake and Max turned to Grace, eyebrows raised in curiosity. “What did she say?” Jake asked.
Grace sighed, slipping a sample of a flower into her bag. “She told me to meet her here tonight. I have a bad feeling about this…”
After I watched both Avatar movies I completely fell in love with Grace! Please I need her?!
