Alright, here are my Top Ten funniest guesses (+1 that I bet nobody ELSE will guess) for who Inquisitor Marrok actually is!
You are most welcome to correct me or let me know who YOU think is most probable.
And just to challenge myself, I’m NOT putting Ezra. Because that would be too obvious.
Tumblr media
1. Barriss Offee
I’m serious when I say that this is probably the most likely.
We know that she is a very important character in Ahsoka’s life, the writers could be trying to mislead us into thinking that the Force User is a man when really we have no confirmation that they are. Plus Dave Filoni has said in interviews that he refused to have the character make cameos just because he wanted to save her for later. Also, many people already speculated that Barriss became an Inquisitor after Order 66, explaining the double-sided Inquisitor lightsaber.
Tumblr media
2. Darth Maul
Their build is a little too skinny for Darth Maul, and also wow, he must really be getting up there. And also, he died in Rebels. But when has that really ever stopped Disney from resurrecting him? I just think they should keep bringing him back. For the bit. I want the opening scroll for the upcoming Daisy Ridley movie to contain the words “Somehow, Darth Maul returned
”
Tumblr media
3. Bo Katan
I highly doubt this because her character arc on the Mandalorian is already concluded, but I can kinda see her doing this as like, a side gig. Homegirl is probably broke from paying off Mandalore’s restoration fees. She’s not a Force User unfortunately, but when has that ever stopped her? I like to believe that Bo Katan simply woke up one day and decided to be Force Sensitive and it all kinda worked out for her somehow.
Tumblr media
4. Lux Bonteri
If this is the option David Filoni is going with, BOOO. Yet another character who isn’t Force Sensitive. If you really think about it, Dave Filoni probably wants to include someone with an important history with Ahsoka, someone close to her that she held dear and that betrayed her and that she still has lingering feelings for.
Well actually that person is Barriss, and yknow, she kinda went MIA. Sooo the next best thing we could get is Lux, I guess!
Tumblr media
5. Anakin (Force Ghost)
Daaaad, what are you doing here?
Well, the ghosts of Obi-Wan and Yoda told him to fuck off and get a job. So here he is. He’s putting in the work! He’s logging onto his Zoom! Ahsoka is gonna be sooo surprised when he finally takes off the mask and reveals it was him along. Just you wait! It’s gonna be so funny!
Tumblr media
6. Korkie Kryze
Now we’re really starting to get big brained here.
In Legends, we have Jacen Solo. In the sequels, we have Kylo Ren.
But in the Brand New Republic era? Hark, a new villain arises. Korkie is embittered about being left behind and forgotten by his biological parents, Satine and Obi-Wan. And now he is out for revenge against all the Force Users and Mandalorians who abandoned him. Mwahahaha. We should’ve known he would turn out like this, he’s a ginger after all.
Tumblr media
7. Ventress
This would technically make Dark Disciple non-canon? But I don't think Dave Filoni cares, considering he hilariously made the Ahsoka novel non-canon. Ventress is obviously very powerful and capable of dual-wielding and she would make a great candidate for an Inquisitor. Plus her and Morgan Elsbeth are both former Nightsisters so points for rapport.
Tumblr media
8. Anakin’s Evil Clone
Hey, I mean Palpatine HAD to start somewhere, right? He didn’t just create Snoke without practice. I like to think he tried making a second Anakin at first, only to discover that Clonakin was a huge pain in the ass and doesn’t wanna follow orders just sit on the couch all day eating the space equivalent of Hot Cheetos.
Tumblr media
9. Cal Kestis but he’s evil now
This one pretty much goes against everything we know about Cal but hey, I’ll take a live action Cal cameo any day now. I’ve been on the frontlines defending my babygirl Anakin since day one, don’t even try to lecture me about the ethics of stanning Darksider Cal.
Tumblr media
9. Mara Jade
OK no more messing around!! I'm serious this time!
EVERYONE LISTEN CLOSELY!
I think the reason why Dave hasn't made any references to Eli, or Ar'alani, or Vahnya must be because he grew up on the 80s Legends trilogy (not the canon trilogy). Whenever Thrawn is mentioned, there is a direct reference to Heir to the Empire. The same novel where Mara Jade is introduced as the Hand of the Emperor. Coincidence? I think not! Obviously, this must be part of Dave Filoni's master plan to softlaunch the upcoming top secret Thrawn series adaptation.
Tumblr media
10. Starkiller
My only real proof is that his name (Marek, Marrok) kinda sounds similar?
Making Starkiller canon would create a whole bunch of problems for the Star Wars timeline. I think his origin story is too Mary Sue-y for even Dave Filoni to try and integrate into current canon.
However, it would be interesting to see a showdown between Anakin's two former apprentices. Interesting, but unlikely.
And finally, for my last guess, I will tell you exactly who Marrok REALLY is. Kathleen Kennedy told me personally, so don't get mad at me! She said it, not me!
Tumblr media
11. Luuke (the clone Palpatine made out of Luke's dismembered hand)
This is the ONLY correct answer.
Us Timothy Zahn enjoyers know that this was really Luuke all along. I told you, Snoke isn't the first clone that Palpatine made! I imagine he had a lot of downtime and got bored and decided to fuck around, and that's how we got Luuke.
And yes, I would cast Sebastian Stan to play him because I'm petty AF.

I keep adding more and more sims to my little Star Wars sims 4 world and then not updating y’all about it djsjdjs im so sorry
important updates (I use wicked whims so consider a lot of actual sexual acts and situations are going on);
Commander Bly and Aayla Secura literally cannot stop fucking. Which is on brand.
Shaak Ti is very very popular on SimHub for being the baddie that she is (she also slept with Quinlan Vos multiple times and took lots of pictures for her account lmao)
Rex and Mari are so in love and obsessed with each other he has romantic thoughts while at work and comes home just to sleep with her a bunch of times. They have 3 adult children but Rex keeps asking to try for baby so? Also on brand.
Satine stopped by Obi-wan’s hut and literally seduced him. So true bestie. (Korkie Kenobi is gonna happen I know it)
Wolffe and Zeeta have fully adult twins and another toddler and still go at it regularly anywhere in or around their house
Kit Fisto lives on the water in Sulani with his lesbian nautolan bestie minding his own business
Bo-Katan slept with Lando Calrissian despite her being a lesbian in game (I made those her preferences) and I think it just speaks to how strong Lando’s game is tbh
Barriss lives in a tiny home not far from Ahsoka which just felt so right for her she honestly ate living in her lil cube house lmaooo
Echo and Riyo Chuchi live in the cutest pink cottage in the whole game in Willow Creek and Riyo is constantly loving up on Echo and fawning over how cute he is. They’re the best couple I’m obsessed with their dynamic
Sabine went to college and is in her slut era. She quite literally had like a whole group sex thing going on it was crazy idk what happened but good for her.
Anakin and Padmé never leave their palace. They just spend all day taking care of toddler Luke and Leia and that feels very healing (I still fully plan on making a bunch of the handmaidens live next door)
The clones (Cody, Jesse, Fives, Kix and Hardcase) all share one house next door to Rex and Mari and I need to create some romance situations for them soon. They deserve it
The bad batch (Hunter, Tech, Crosshair and Wrecker and a dog that Hunter found and took home) all live in the coolest house in Willow Creek. Hunter fucks around with this one Targaryen lookin girl like ok king<3 I still need to make some partners for the other 3
Omega is grown and moved out on her own with Batcher to Brindleton Bay. She has a nice lil cape cod style house she’s killing it so cute
Han Solo just met and immediately became best friends with Chewbacca.
And that’s pretty much it. I have created a ton of other characters but most of them just sit there bc I don’t have any ideas or stories for them yet. I’ll keep yall updated.

Summer Podfic Swap Stats
I have queued up so many podfics to post over the next week! Most (if not all?) are treats I made for the @summerpodficswap exchange, and if you want to skip the slow drip of pods and see what I made, you can find my series for the event HERE!
I want to try to make 1 more treat to round off my collection on an even number, but we'll see. As of right now, the breakdown is as follows:
14 Star Wars podfics 9 DC podfics, which includes 6 DC x DP crossover podfics 4 Marvel podfics, including characters from Daredevil (Netflix) & Venom (2018) 1 AFTG podfic 1 Merlin podfic 1 Leverage podfic 1 The Locked Tomb podfic
In total, I made close to / around 11 hours of audio! And, most important, I had such a blast!
The Longest podfic(s) I made were of:
The Lost and Found series by SpaceWall (fic link, podfic link)
Which was 5.5 hours across 5 works, a Star Wars soulmate au fix-it featuring main ships: Cody/Obi-Wan, Fox/Bail/Breha, Rex/Satine, Anakin/Padme, & Bo-Katan/The Armorer
& Shadow of a Bat by @clockwayswrites (fic link, podfic link)
Which was a little under 1.5 hours, a DC x Danny Phantom crossover with warnings for aftermath of torture that is a hurt/comfort found family story
My shortest pods were a handful of drabbles across the Star Wars, DC x DP, Batman, and Leverage fandoms, all around 1 mn long!

Welcome to: A Post Where I Rant About My Artfight Attacks This Year and the Thought Processes Behind Them (In Order)
Tumblr media
First up is this one!! I used to have a sona for MLB a long time ago and still think about him from time to time, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to draw an updated vers!
Since I am a big time travel trope fan, I obviously gave myself the rabbit miraculous. As for the other character, it’s owned by @precisespace , and their name is Vermini!!
As for the process, there wasn’t much to it. I knew I wanted a dynamic pose and I’m a bit taller than average irl, so I wanted to play with that and push it a bit further. Since this one was my first ever artfight submission, I wanted to take it easy and use it to learn the ropes a bit.
Tumblr media
This one has a bit more put into it hehe.
The characters, Ellie and Jade, are owned by AletheSnail on artfight!
Since magical girls are one of my autistic special interests, you bet your money I knew I had to draw them as soon as I read their backstory. It’s genuinely so interesting to me, so please go check it out if you have the chance!
This one, I knew I wanted a “vision obscured” type beat, and to also give a sense of longing. I also tried to do a basic background, and it worked out
decent enough haha. I don’t really like it, but it’s better than nothing
Tumblr media
Both of these characters are owned by @imthatfilthysinner !
Due to being diagnosed with Star Wars hyperfixation, the rest of all these will be Star Wars ocs.
While it was originally Arielle’s (the Twi’Lek) design that caught my eye, Fii’s backstory,,, I’m obsessed
For this one, I wanted it to look like they were at a table debriefing or something, but then I got lazy and just drew shapes. Hopefully it gets the message across well enough TvT
Tumblr media
Sinner did a revenge on me, so this is my revenge back!!
They drew my oc, Vinon, and Fii together when they’re adults in a situation where they meet again after remembering each other as younglings. This inspired me to draw a scene with padawan Vinon and Fii greeting each other!!
I also wanted an excuse to design Vinon’s master finally, so meet Zalale! And the other Chiss is Fii’s master, Saan Bo.
I used Sinner’s piece as a reference for their poses, and I pretty much traced a screenshot from one of the movies for the background. I really super like how this one came out! I think it’s my favorite attack of mine this year!!
Tumblr media
Guys
 Jinoro’s story
 sobs and explodes and dies.
Them and their padawan, Marz, immediately stole my heart. As such, I drew Jinoro giving Marz a funeral after she dies.
I knew I wanted a bit of an angle on this piece, and used Anakin’s funeral as a reference for the scene. I really super suck at drawing fire, so this was good practice! I also really like how this one came out haha
Jinoro and Marz both belong to @tyquu !!
Tumblr media
This was a revenge for @spacedem0n !!
They drew my oc, Rasdra (the Twi’Lek) and their oc, Bleen, meeting and hanging out after order 66. As such, I thought it would be fun to draw an interaction between them when Rasdra was still a youngling and before Bleen left the Jedi Order!
I’m not too happy with how Rasdra came out, but I used full creative freedom when it came to designing a padawan version of Bleen. I genuinely had way too much fun with it haha
Once again, I mostly traced a background from a screenshot in one of the movies, and I don’t think it turned out horrible, so I’ll take it as a win!!
In conclusion, this month as my first artfight was AMAZING. I received tons of amazing art of my characters, and it was fun to indirectly bounce ideas off of others! I look forward to seeing the winning team, and I also look forward to next year already!

Fenrir Wixx

The night the war officially ended was something Ahsoka never wanted to forget.
She stood on the command bridge with Rex by her side, when a holo came through. She sucked in a breath as her soul twanged with an odd feeling, like a sense of deja vu. Ahsoka turned to Rex, who was unbothered by the unfamiliar wave of emotions that had flooded her.
Together they walked over to accept the call, met by the grinning face of Obi-Wan. Ahsoka raised an eyebrow as she instinctively and subconsciously poked at their bond, met with a wave of delighted warmth. Hope sparked in the pit of her stomach.
“I have excellent news,” Obi-Wan greeted them and Rex and Ahsoka exchanged a hopeful glance, the corner of Rex’s lip tilted up ever so slightly. “Grievous has been defeated, Dooku has been captured.”
“That means,” Rex turned to the holo, a small smile creeping onto his face. Obi-Wan laughed before answering.
“Yes, Captain. The war is over.”
The galaxy seemed to freeze as Ahsoka stared at the holo, her lips forming a smile. From the moment she’d completed her first mission, Ahsoka knew her destiny was to fight in this war, to fight beside Anakin Skywalker. Whether she died, it didn’t matter. She was just another death, another number.
But now, the war is over.
There was no more fighting.
A single tear fell from her eye, like a diamond in the sea.
A howl of glee rang through the air as Rex tackled Ahsoka in a long awaited hug, burying his face in the crook of her neck. He laughed loudly, tears spilling down his face. Ahsoka fell from her shock as she returned the hug, gripping him just as tightly - if not tighter - and crying as jubilation filled her.
Cheers of rejoice echoed throughout the ship as the holo turned off, leaving Ahsoka and Rex to sob with exuberance. They laughed and they cried, they danced and they sang. The ship wasn’t quiet for even a moment for the rest of the trip.
Jesse came to Ahsoka one night, begging for a buddy to sleep with. He was anxious after the ending of the war, and of course, he came with Fives in tow. The three of them gathered as many blankets and pillows as possible, before calling most of Torrent Company to join the cuddle pile.
Ahsoka slept better that night than she had in years.
When they finally reached Coruscant, the entire planet was bright and alive, cheers and celebrations everywhere the eye could see. Ahsoka practically fell out of the ship trying to get to her family quickly.
Obi-Wan, Anakin and Padme were awaiting her at the bay, and she was immediately brought into a hug by Anakin. More tears were shed, more laughs were spilled and more joy was expressed. None of them had imagined the pure bliss they would feel when the war ended.
The next few weeks were a nightmare for all of them, Padme in particular. The Senate was in chaos, with debt in every direction and fees to pay. But with the guiding hand of newly made Chancellor Bail Organa, the Republic was thriving.
When Bo Katan sent payment for Ahsoka assisting in freeing Mandalore of Maul, Ahsoka immediately sought an apartment. She found a good, temporary one on the middle levels of Coruscant.
Rex followed her everywhere, and without hesitation, she let Fives and him live with her for a bit.
She quickly remembered neither of the Clones had civilian clothes, and found great entertainment in assisting them as they shopped. She did the same with Jesse when he turned up at her door at three in the morning days later with the realisation he had nowhere to live.
For about a month, the four lived together in a smaller than appreciated apartment, and the stories that came from their time together were endless. One night, someone tried to break in.
“Do you hear something?” Jesse whispered to Fives as he blinked at the darkness surrounding them. Fives yawned and murmured a ‘no’. “Rex?”
The former Captain rolled over to face his brothers, eyelids drooping from sleepless nights. They all slept very well on their mattresses on the floor, but sometimes it was too comfortable. “The creak?”
“Yeah,” Jesse breathed out, sitting up. He shuffled to his feet - ignoring Fives’ groan - and tiptoed out of their room and into Ahsoka’s. He knocked on the door, waiting for a response. “Vod’ika?”
“Hmm?” Ahsoka hummed in response, and Jesse stepped into her room. She watched him carefully, exhaustion clear on her features. “Yea-”. She didn’t even finish as she suddenly jolted upright and leaped from the bed, pushing past Jesse.
He gaped.
Ahsoka raced into the main room - Jesse hurrying behind her - and lunged forward, tackling something. Just one glimpse and Jesse realised that his sister had tackled what looked like a human figure, clothed in all black.
He leaped forward to help, but didn’t get the chance.
Ahsoka kneed the figure in the groin and punched their face repeatedly, sending them down to the floor with another swift kick. She reached up and hastily ripped the black mask off their face, revealing a teenaged human boy.
He had wavy and curling soft black hair that fell over the right side of his face, bluish green eyes and light skin. He coughed as blood dripped from his nose, wincing and holding his hands up. “I surrender, ori’haat.”
“Who are you?” Jesse snarled, moving to stand beside his sister. Rex and Fives were behind them, having rushed out when they heard the fight.
“Shabuir,” the boy cursed, tears welling in his eyes from being hit so many times. A twang of guilt rushed through Jesse before he pushed it down. “Fenrir Wixx, that’s me.” He was breathless and panting as he struggled to sit up slightly.
“What do you want?!” Rex growled, pulling Ahsoka behind him. The boy let out a choked, rasping laugh that sent shivers down Jesse’s spine.
“What do you think I’m doing?!” Fenrir snapped, the smirk he was wearing turning sharp and cold. “Committing theft
 Please?”
“Did you just ask us to let you steal our stuff?” Fives spluttered.
“Yes.”
“Wha-why?!”
“Well, my mam always says, ‘Be polite, Fen!’ And so I thought it was worth a shot!”
Ahsoka, Rex, Jesse and Fives all exchanged a glance before sighing.
“And why are you stealing?” Ahsoka asked, relaxing her fighting stance.
Fenrir scoffed. “Well, I’m broke.”
The four exchanged glances again, before Rex sighed, reaching hand forward to pull the boy to his feet. A grateful smile crossed Fenrir’s face. None of them noticed the look of disappointment and frustration that flashed across Fenrir’s face.
“Thanks,” he murmured, suddenly uncomfortable. He knew he had no right to be uncomfortable when he’d tried to steal from them, but he couldn’t exactly change how he felt. “I’ll be going now.”
As the boy turned to leave through the window he’d come through, Jesse stepped in front of him. “We’re not just gonna let you go!”
Fenrir looked between the four before nodding and stepping away. But when Jesse relaxed and moved from the window, the boy raced towards the window. He leaped through the open area, avoiding the class around him as he did.
Behind him, the four raced to the window, watching him fall down the building, legs and arms spread out as he did. Fenrir fell and fell and fell, and when he was finally nearing a platform that would kill him upon impact, he twisted and slowly landed on the platform, the boosters on his boots activated.
The four gaped as he looked up at them, so far away they couldn’t see his features. But they did see the tiny wave he gave them before running off.

For The propmts, "I can't trust you"
hi hello!!!
this is set in my "there was only one desk" au, where obi-wan and anakin, well. share a desk in the office and hate each other.
"""""hate each other"""""
(1.5k) (angst here and now but actually the stupidest thing ever)
The person sitting at Obi-Wan’s desk is not, in fact, Obi-Wan Kenobi. For one thing, it’s a woman with a severe red bobcut and better fashion sense than Kenobi’s ever had. For another thing, Anakin can’t actually remember a time when he’s made the trek up to the twelfth floor just to annoy Kenobi only for the man to not give him attention. So this woman, who doesn’t even raise her eyes to look at him when he’s standing next to her desk, can’t be Kenobi.
“Uh,” Anakin says. He’s holding a singular cupcake on a plate in both hands, red velvet because Obi-Wan hates red velvet and with a candle in the icing because Obi-Wan is extremely paranoid about the sensitivity of the sprinkler system. “Who are you?”
The woman’s fingers pause on the keyboard and she looks up at him sharply. With a raised eyebrow, she tilts her head to the nameplate on Obi-Wan’s desk.
Bo-Katan Kryze it reads.
Anakin blinks. “Do you—share this desk with Obi-Wan?”
“I don’t know who that is. I sit here every day,” Kryze says. “Is there something I can help you with?” She makes it clear that she believes there is absolutely nothing she wants to help him with.
“Um.” Anakin stares at her uninterested face, the nameplate, the desk itself.
He realizes rather suddenly that the plants are gone. All of Obi-Wan’s plants are gone, and in their places are picture frames filled with pictures of strangers, a standing calendar, and a souvenir mug.
“No,” he says slowly. “Sorry.”
“No worries,” the woman says, turning back to her computer. “Have a nice day.”
Anakin turns around and goes back to the elevators around the corner. He feels a bit stupid, holding a plate wth a cupcake on it, so he tosses it into a small trashcan next to a desk as he passes by, plate and all.
He still feels a bit stupid, and the feeling lingers all the way from the twelfth floor to the tenth, where his desk is. If Obi-Wan was playing a prank on him, he just fell for it like an idiot.
But if he hadn’t—
“Obi-Wan wasn’t at his desk,” Anakin says to Vos as he sits down in front of his own computer. “There was this woman there instead, and she’d moved all of his stuff. Even the nametag.”
Vos doesn’t look up from his screen. He’s been sort of distant since Anakin came back, like he forgot how to talk or some shit during the month and a half he was away.
His silence would make sense if Obi-Wan asked him to help with the prank. And Vos probably would hop on the opportunity to fuck with Anakin. He tries to say he doesn’t play favorites of course, but he very clearly does.
And his favorite very clearly is Kenobi, not Anakin.
Anakin remembers the chair incident, after all.
So if Obi-Wan told him about trying to pull a fast one on Anakin his first day back at the office, hire a woman to sit at his desk and change all of its decorations just to confuse him, Vos would probably help out by pretending everything is normal.
Anakin narrows his eyes and looks at his desk. Nothing’s been moved or changed since he last saw it. No new cameras to video his reaction.
“Where’s Obi-Wan?” he asks, looking over at Vos. “I mean, it’s a lot of work, isn’t it? Points for creativity, I guess though.”
Vos’ fingers still on his keys and he finally looks up, going as far as to take his hands off the keyboard completely. “What?”
“Like where did he put his plants? And the zen garden with all the sand, you know? He moved that zen garden somewhere else just to fuck with me for a bit? And the name too, her name— Bo-Katan? Kryze? He could have tried a little harder to make up something believable.”
Vos looks at him, eyebrows furrowing. “Sorry,” he says slowly. “But–sorry, but what do you think is happening here, exactly?”
Anakin frowns. Usually Vos would be laughing by now. “Joke’s on him though, I brought him a cupcake to celebrate my first day back, and me and Bo-Katan split it instead. No cupcake for Obi-Wan. It’s what he deserves for such a lame prank.”
“Skywalker,” Vos’ voice sounds even slower. “Skywalker, there is no prank.”
There’s a very weird feeling in his gut. He forces a laugh. “Uh, right, of course not,” he says. “But seriously, where is Obi-Wan? I’ve been taking pictures I want to show him for months. He’s going to love them.”
He better love them, at least, if he knows what’s good for him. But Luke and Leia are adorable, especially now that they’ve stopped teething on everything in range. Even someone as heartless and deplorable as Kenobi will be swayed by their big eyes and general all-encompassing cuteness.
The look Vos gives him is uncharacteristically cold. “Two things, Skywalker. First, there’s no prank. Obi-Wan quit. Sounds like you brought cupcakes to his replacement, like some. One man office welcome brigade. Second, if you really think Obi-Wan Kenobi wants to see your fucking baby pictures, you’re more stupid than I thought.”
Anakin blinks and then stares as the feeling in his stomach spreads to his chest. “What? No. No way.” He blinks again, eyebrows furrowing. “Is this the prank?”
Vos pushes his chair away from his keyboard, rolling it to the edge of his desk. “Skywalker. Anakin. There is no prank. I’m telling you the truth. Obi-Wan has separated from the company. He is not here today, and he won’t be here tomorrow. He left.”
“But—” Anakin’s mouth is open, but no words are coming out. “But. He didn’t tell me.”
There’s a knot in his stomach, one that may be bigger than his stomach altogether. No, it has to be some sort of—of prank. Of practical joke at his expense. When Obi-Wan pops out in an hour or so, Anakin is going to hit him so hard in, like. The shoulder. For the crime of being really, really not funny.
“Why would he tell you, Skywalker?” Vos asks, carefully putting his hands on his knees as he looks at him with an unreadable expression on his face. “You don’t like each other.”
“I—I mean. We do!” Anakin splutters. “We spent quarantine together! And last summer when we did the office expedition and got lost, we camped together! For two whole days!”
“Those aren’t bonding activities,” Quinlan says. “You know that, right? No one else would consider those things as foundations for a friendship or even workplace relationship.”
Like he always seems to do when Kenobi and “workplace relatitonships” are brought up in the same sentence, Anakin flushes. He can feel the tips of his go red.
“Look, I get that you’re—friends or whatever,” he mutters, pitching his voice down low so that no one else can eavesdrop. Not that anyone else is really paying attention, but just in case. “But we’ve—you know, you saw us. During the. The quarantine. We. Spent the night together.”
“Yeah, you fucked,” Vos rolls his eyes. “You fucked.” “So if he were going to leave the company, he’d tell me, alright?” Anakin puts his hand down flat on the desk. “Yeah? He’d tell me.”
“Only if sleeping with you meant something to him,” Vos points out, pushing his chair back fully behind his desk. “So I guess it didn’t.”
The words—sting.
A lot.
The words fucking hurt like Vos has just thrown a fucking cactus into his dick. Because—alright, they’d never talked about it afterwards or anything, but—kissing Kenobi, his annoying and annoyingly attractive deskmate, sleeping with him, touching him and being touched in return
it’d changed things for Anakin. Things he didn’t want to name then, and things he definitely doesn’t want to name now, if—if Obi-Wan really
really just.
Left.
Anakin shakes his head, wordless. “It meant something,” he says, practicing the words, even if it’s only Vos around to hear him.
“Yeah?” and Vos’ voice is cold. “Then why’d you just take almost two months of paternity leave, huh? If sleeping with my friend meant something.”
Anakin shakes his head again, staring fixedly at his keyboard. “Did he really—Vos, you’re not lying, are you? Did he actually quit?”
Vos is silent for several long moments. “Yeah,” he says, sounding strange. “Yeah, he did. This is—you’re upset about this, aren’t you?”
It could still be a joke though, because sometimes Vos goes too far and sometimes he doesn’t know when to quit, even though Anakin thinks he’s pretty obviously begging him to stop right about now.
He stands. “I—I don’t believe you. I can’t— I can’t trust you.”
Vos watches him swing his jacket on with raised eyebrows. “I suppose you don’t need his address then,” he says, expression guarded. “If you’re going to fact-check this yourself.”
Of course Anakin is going to fact-check this for his fucking self.
And either way, Obi-Wan Kenobi is going to have a lot of explaining to do.

Excerpt:
The boy squinted and leaned back in the chair, resting his forearms on the table "You know Djarin, I came here to be alone." He said flatly making Din's stomach clench. As Luke started drumming his fingers on the table Din looked down at those hands he found beautiful, observing them, Luke was wearing silver rings, three to be precise, one on the right thumb, one on the right index finger and the third one on the left middle finger, and he was also wearing black nail polish, a little chipped at the tips, and Din had to look away to suppress the impulse to reach out and brush his fingers against Luke's. Now his eyes were fixed on Luke's datapad and he could see what the boy was reading about.
"Tatooine, huh?" He looked up at him, half smiling and raising his eyebrows.
Luke leaned forward covering the datapad with his arms, he hummed.
"Have you been to Tatooine?" Din insisted and Luke shrugged.
Chapter 3: The secret
Leia sat up on the mattress abruptly, breathless, something has roused her from a deep sleep in the middle of the night.
"Luke." She gasped jumping out of the bed as an unpleasant feeling settled in her gut. She couldn't figure out what was exactly causing it, still she was certain that Luke needed her.
When she finally opened the door to her brother's bedroom she could see Luke stirring beneath the sheets even when the only light bathing his room was the moonlight filtered in through the heavy curtains, she swallowed hard taking a few steps forward, her little hands resting on the end of the mattress, and she touched Luke's foot through the sheets "Luke. Please, wake up." She nudged his leg with her hands but the only response she got was that Luke was squirming in his bed now and her heart skipped a beat when the boy started whining.
"Gods, Luke, it's me, Leia." She said walking around the bed to cup his face with her hands and she could feel a low rumble in Luke's chest before he opened his eyes screaming, and before she could say a word something pushed her backwards with such violence that her little body hit the floor. She groaned. She looked up only to find Luke staring at her, still on the bed, levering himself up onto his hands, he was breathing hard, his dark hair plastered against his forehead, he frowned at Leia as realization crossed his features. Leia moved a little and Luke ran towards her trying to grab her by her upper arms, she could feel the way her ankle started throbbing painfully now. She sat up on the floor boring into Luke's eyes "You used the force." She said under her breath, Luke's hands tensed up against her. "You used the force against me."
"No." He said tightening his grip around her arms.
"You have no control over it. You're out of control." She frowned rolling back her shoulders in order to urge Luke to let go of her.
Luke's mouth set in a hard line, not breaking eye contact with her.
Then her eyes softened, she tilted her head "You're in pain." She said as her hand found Luke's cheek and the boy blinked astonished. "Oh, Luke. What had he done to you?" She asked stroking his skin.
"I didn't mean it." He looked down avoiding her gaze and he moved his head slightly, escaping her touch "Are you hurt?" Luke was now hauling her to her feet.
"Luke, please, talk to me." Leia insisted.
"Just answer me, dammit! Are you hurt?" Luke's eyes looked glossy now.
"I'm not hurt, for fuck's sake! I need you to trust me. I'm here. What was that Luke? What happened?"
Luke pouted and crouched down before her, unclasping her walking boot "You're gonna need ice." He caressed her injured ankle "Fuck! I'm so sorry, Leia."
Leia sighed realizing that Luke wouldn't open himself up to her. At least not yet.
~
"I'm screwed Leia, you keep talking about this galactic trade law but I can't memorize jack shit." Din dropped his holopen sighing defeated when he saw Luke entering the living room and he locked eyes with him, casually raising his arms above his head and he leaned back sinking in the big couch, resting the back of his head on his hands, fingers intertwined as he exposed his chest and neck, still staring at the boy pointedly. He heard Luke groaning, it was a subtle sound, almost inaudible but it fueled Din's fantasies in a heartbeat, and now he couldn't stop thinking about Luke making cute little noises beneath him, his body pressing against Luke's, pleasuring him. Then he remembered that Leia was still right beside him and when Luke disappeared into the corridor, he looked at her sideways, finding that she was as lost in thought as he had been a second ago.
"What is it, Lei?" He asked leaning forward and moving his arms to rest a hand on his friend's shoulder.
She shook her head "Never mind. We can talk about it some other time, now, you need to learn this shit." She pointed at her datapad.
In fact Din could have learned by heart that ridiculously long, never-ending law all by himself, but he spent the whole Saturday longing to see Luke again after the Mando party and by Sunday he couldn't withstand the urge to go to Leia's place and wait for Luke, the dark angel that shared a Junipera with him in the privacy of his room, to show up. And Luke showed up, twice.
An hour later Luke crossed the living room wearing a white hoodie that framed his cute face in a way that had Din swooning over him.
"I'm going for a walk." Luke said casting a glance at his sister, Leia nodded and the moment Luke closed the front door behind him, Din was already packing up his stuff.
"Uh-" He said standing up and zipping his satchel "Paz is gonna kill me, I promised him I was going to help him with statistics. It's late." He leaned forward pressing a kiss on Leia's forehead, gently pushing her shoulder down when she tried to stand up. "Don't, I know the way, you should rest, take care of that ankle." He said rushing to the main door, he heard Leia sighing at the distance.
He smiled when he saw Luke disappearing down the corner and headed towards that direction. Still keeping a distance, he followed Luke into a caf shop that Din knew quite well. Luke was sitting alone at a small table, hunching forward, reading and he looked absorbed in his datapad.
Din approached him giving Luke a big smile when the boy looked up.
"Are you following me?" The boy in eyeliner asked.
Feeling completely exposed, Din's smile faded as he pressed his lips together "I saw you from across the street and came to say hi." What a liar.
Luke blinked a couple of times "Hi." He muttered and shifted his gaze to his datapad, Din sat down across from him, Luke looked at him again, frowning this time. Gods! You look so beautiful with that hood on, Din thought, sucking in a breath.
"When I was a kid." He muttered and Din beamed when he finally managed to engage Luke in the conversation.
"I love Tatooine." Din commented making Luke chuckle.
"You're out of your mind, Tatooine is a hellhole." The boy added with a little grin on his face and Din was suddenly experiencing a fluttery feeling in his stomach.
"Then why are you reading about Tatooine? I can see you're reading about Tusken Raiders' culture." Din said folding his arms over the table and Luke scratched his nose and fuck! Din clenched his hands into fists against his own arms unconsciously, because deep inside he was dying to cup that little face of Luke and press a kiss on the tip of his nose.
"It's the language, I'd like to learn Tusken Sign Language." Luke said absentmindedly, eyes on the table, eliciting a little gasp from Din. The boy looked at him again furrowing his brows "None of your business, tho."
Din's eyebrows raised as he leaned back in his seat, groaning, understanding that Luke was putting up his walls once again, but he wouldn't miss this opportunity. He needed to act cool, even when he could feel his heartbeat drumming inside his head, he shifted in his chair trying to hide his effervescence.
"I know Tusken Sign Language." He said pressing a hand to his chest, Luke's eyes flickered to his chest and then he looked into his eyes chuckling. Din was holding his breath.
"For real?" Luke asked giving him a lopsided smile and Din's stomach fluttered more intensely this time.
"Yes!" He leaned forward, hardly containing his excitement, there was Luke's bright side again and he was basking in the boy's gleam, like he was a lonely bounty hunter staring at the moon in the dark night sky reflecting the sun's light in silence. "I traveled through the galaxy when I was a mandalorian apprentice and I learned a lot of languages, it's crucial when it comes to negotiation skills."
Luke nodded "Makes sense." He pressed his lips together.
"I can teach you if you want." Din managed to say as his heartbeat sped up hoping Luke couldn't notice how keenly interested he was in being his tutor.
"That-" The boy sighed rubbing his temple with the tip of his fingers "That would be great."
Din's heart skipped a beat.
He couldn't believe he was now sitting beside Luke, showing him the basic hand shapes and the second he was about to correct Luke, he hesitated, withdrawing his hand, he shook his head smiling "You need to curl the thumb inwards." He sighed.
Luke frowned staring at his own hand and tried to follow Din's suggestion.
"No, just, like this." Din showed him how, gesturing with his right hand and he couldn't hold it back anymore when Luke was still struggling with the proper thumb position, he finally wrapped his fingers around the boy's hand and it felt so right, so good. He lingered there enjoying it more than he should until he finally moved the boy's thumb. Luke's eyes fixed on his hand. "There, Luke, that's good. Like that." He said under his breath releasing his hand. But now his skin was burning and he was very conscious of the way his belly tightened all of a sudden.
Luke looked at him with round eyes and Din tilted his head, lips aching to kiss the boy's next to him. "How-" Luke's voice trailed off.
"Yes, Luke?" He asked taking a deep breath.
"How do you say I love you?" Luke asked frowning and then his eyes flickered to Din's mouth.
Din froze. He parted his lips but the words didn't come out easily "Uh-" Luke kept staring at him with piercing eyes "That. Right. Hmm." He couldn't hold his gaze anymore, finding the wooden table very fascinating now.
Luke was still waiting, in silence. Din blinked shaking his head "I don't know. Like I said, we learned languages in order to negotiate." He sighed.
"And that's not something you need to say while negotiating." Luke replied making Din look at him again.
"But I can do a little research if you want." He said rubbing his hands against his thighs.
Luke considered it for a moment and then he nodded "Alright." He said standing up "I'll see you around I guess." He added and Din's eyes followed him.
"Of course, maybe tomorrow after classes." Din said finally standing up, desperation taking him over.
Luke looked at him over his shoulder "I'm busy."
Din walked behind him leaving the shop "Then, the day after tomorrow?"
"We'll see, Djarin. Besides, you're always around, it's not like I'll never see you again." He huffed a laugh "Good night."
Din swallowed hard staring at him walking away as emptiness settled in his chest, he thought he was finally breaking Luke's shell, but he fooled himself once again. He turned around shoving his hands in his pockets and walked down the street, his heart aching as he thought back to the little intimate moment they shared, sitting so close to each other at that tiny table, Luke's thighs brushing against his own, his hand wrapped around Luke's, so warm and soft. He tossed his head back trying to stop that train of thought, it was only bringing him pain and suffering, wanting something he couldn't have. Wanting him.
~
Something caught Din's attention in History class, this guy wouldn't stop glaring at Luke now and then. Din stared at him and the guy locked eyes with him. Din lifted his shoulder in a half shrug, shaking his head with a scowl on his face making the guy look away snarling.
"What's going on, vod?" Paz asked keeping his voice down, leaning in.
"Nothing." He frowned taking his hand to his lips, holding his holopen between his fingers.
"Seems like you're trying to pick a fight with Axe." His vod insisted.
Din cocked his head sighing, he hated the way Paz could read him, in fact, it was a miracle he hasn't figured out that Din was crazy about Leia's brother already.
Axe. Axe Vowes was a mandalorian just like them, still he was arrogant and Bo-Katan's best friend, Din tried to get along with him in the past, but the guy was unbearable, always belittling Din and Paz' tribe, calling them primitives and such. The man was so full of himself and that irked Din somehow, still he didn't know why.
Although Din ignored Axe systematically since then, he wouldn't ignore the way he was leering at Luke and, clearly, backbiting about him with his friend. They kept chuckling every time Axe found that Din was giving him a death stare.
"Cut it out, vod." Paz intervened again making Din flinch.
"He's picking on Luke." He finally revealed the reason for his behaviour.
Paz turned around to look at Luke, the boy was almost asleep, face resting on his hand. He looked at Din again "Seems like Skywalker doesn't give a shit about it, why do you care?"
"He's Leia's brother." He lied to cover himself hoping Paz would buy it.
"Okay." Paz nodded clenching his fist over his desk "You know I love when I kick the shit out of people. Count me in." Din stared at him noticing the way his nostrils flared and he was already regretting telling Paz about it. Paz was a war machine, always ready to take advantage of his massive body and extraordinary strength. People used to be intimidated by him, but Din was always right there beside him to talk some sense into him, Din was as violent as Paz but he was more clever than him, only recurring to violence as a last resort. Paz was tall, heavily built, beefy, with tanned skin and dark hair, with hazel eyes and strong masculine features, and above all those things, a big scar crossed his cheek and all the way up to his eyebrow, courtesy of a smuggler that got into a fight with him one night when Paz was completely drunk and trying to stand up for a slave female twi'lek in a sleazy cantina, Din respected him for that.
Luke left the classroom the second the teacher dismissed the class as usual, but this time Din's eyes were on Axe, ready to step in if the mandalorian tried and follow Luke. But Axe didn't, and the tension around Din's shoulders dwindled as he walked towards the door. Axe stood up with a smirk on his face "Hello, Djarin." He pursed his lips staring at Din pointedly.
Din looked away and kept walking giving Paz the side-eye, his vod nodded understanding that there was no need to confront Axe, at least for now.
~
After his last class Din joined Paz and Cobb in the hallway.
"I don't know man, Koska is very smart." Cobb said smiling.
"So you mean she's returning to me soon?" Paz asked while the three of them were walking towards the campus.
"No, I mean that maybe this time she dumped you for good." He burst into laughter as Paz slapped his upper arm, leaving him breathless "Fuck, Paz!" He choked.
"Hey, vod, don't do that, he's too skinny and your hands too heavy." Din bantered and Cobb wrinkled his nose.
"Thank you Din, you're very helpful." Cobb let out a sigh.
Din was laughing shaking his head until he saw Luke walking in the outdoor seating area's direction followed by Axe.
Din started walking towards them without hesitation as rage flowed through him like lava. His heart thumping inside his chest when he saw them disappearing behind the building, he was quivering with anger when he finally made it to the seating area and then he froze. Axe was resting his hands on the wall at the sides of Luke's head, encasing him.
"I know you're Anakin Skywalker's son." Axe said through gritted teeth "Your father is a disgrace."
"Stay away from him, Axe." Din said standing before them as Paz and Cobb joined him.
"Not until this little shit admits that he's son to a murderer, a scumbag."
What?
"Come on, man. You're mistaken, this is Leia's brother." Cobb walked closer to him.
Luke narrowed his eyes holding Axe's gaze "Move away." He said quietly.
"Say it!" Axe insisted, tugging at the collar of Luke's shirt. "Fucking Skywalker! I want to hear you say it!"
"Fuck you!" Luke retorted, his voice thick with anger and something stirred inside Din when he saw the way Luke's expression darkened, making the fine hairs on the back of his neck stand on end.
Luke raised his arm between them and Axe stumbled a little until Luke moved his fingers, making a crushing hand gesture, and Axe was suddenly struggling to breathe, taking a few steps back and pressing his hands to his own throat. Luke took two steps forward, his eyes were blazing with fury, his arm outstretched as his fingers twitched a little.
Din was frozen taking in the scene unfolding before him until he noticed the way Axe was rolling his eyes and he understood that he needed to stop it "Luke!" He yelled, finally moving towards Luke "Stop! Stop, Luke!" He was grabbing him by his upper arms from behind "Please, stop!" His voice breaking a little.
He heard Luke sighing deeply as he relaxed his hand and Axe fell flat on his face coughing and digging his fingers into the floor. Cobb rushed to him trying to know if he was alright, but Axe didn't pay attention to him, he looked up at Luke instead, visibly perplexed "Just like your father." He said breathlessly.
Din's hands were still around Luke's biceps, the boy squirmed releasing himself from Din's grip. Din stared at him as he started walking away leaving him behind. When Din looked around, Cobb was already helping Axe to walk towards the building. He looked at Paz, his vod was frowning standing in front of him.
"Can't believe it." Paz muttered. Din's stomach clenched and his chest heaved realizing that Luke almost killed Axe without even touching him. "Skywalker is a Jedi." He added and Din grimaced.
"What?"
"That shit, that shit he used, that's called the force, vod." Paz explained.
Din heard about Jedi but never saw anyone using that thing called The force. He had always thought that the force was actually a myth, until now. He ran his hand through his hair bewildered, he needed answers.
~
Leia listened carefully to every word Din said, he was breathing hard by the time he finished, he was feeling desperate, he was worried about Luke and he was convinced that talking to his twin sister about it was the right thing to do. They were in her bedroom, it was already dark outside and a storm broke moments after he walked into the Amidala's house.
Leia blinked a few times and Din could tell she was trying to hold back tears.
She walked to the window, Din followed her as a bolt of lightning cracked the sky followed by a deep rumple of thunder and he huffed trying to remain calm, but he was very conscious of the way his heart was pounding against his ribs.
"Paz said he was using the force." He managed to say.
She raised her eyebrows "Yes. He's a force-user, Din."
"Did you know about it?" He inquired.
Her expression softened as she tilted her head "We always knew that he was a force-user, and so am I." Leia said and Din's eyes widened. "But I haven't trained since I was a little girl."
"Why you didn't tell me about it?" Din rested his forearm on the wall and leaned in trying to catch her eyes.
Leia shrugged "It's not important to me, it's something that doesn't define me anymore. I'm my mother's daughter, that's all that matters to me."
"And Luke is his father's son." He nodded looking into her eyes. She nodded back with a melancholic smile on her face. "Luke's a Jedi." He said under his breath.
Leia shook her head slowly, sadness in her eyes "Din, a Jedi trains in the ways of the light side of the force."
"I don't understand."
Leia sighed crossing her arms over her chest "What you described, the technique Luke used to hurt Axe, a Jedi can't and won't use it." Din lifted his chin still not understanding what his friend was trying to say. "Din, that's a Sith technique." He could hear the way she choked with emotion "Don't you see? Someone has been training him to use the dark side of the force."
"What's a Sith?" Din asked as a feeling of dread crept over him unexpectedly.
"Someone that has lost their way." She frowned rubbing her hand across her forehead while Din rested his hands on his hips sighing deeply and looking through the window.
"Is it too late?" Din asked afraid of the answer he would get.
"No. I can feel it... right here." She took her hand to her chest "There's still good in him."
Din breathed a sigh of relief.
"Be careful, Din." She said and caught him off guard.
"What?" He looked at her with round eyes.
"I think you know what I mean." She said holding his gaze.
Din looked away, the sound of rain outside filling in the silence. He pressed a kiss on her cheek and walked away knowing that he wouldn't stop by the big couch on his way out that night.

“Another happy landing,” Obi-Wan laughed with relief as he slumped back in his chair. He closed his eyes for a moment, his heart pounding in his ears, head pounding still from his fight with Count Dooku, but he was alive, and Anakin’s laughter was the final reminder that the end to the war would be just around the corner. He didn’t move for a long moment despite the smoke and electrical sizzles jumping around the room. Crash aside, he was honestly still feeling disoriented after gaining consciousness in the elevator shaft. He just needed to close his eyes for five seconds. That was all he needed.
“Come on Old Man, you can’t be that tired already. You were knocked out half the time,” Anakin chided and nudged his boot against Obi-Wans leg.
He raised a brow without opening his eyes. “I could have a serious brain injury Anakin, and here you are kicking me.”
“Thats how I can tell you’re fine.” Anakin held out his hand and helped Obi-Wan to his feet before turning and guiding the chancellor toward one of the somewhat intact port views. Already a small open aired transport manned by the  Coruscant guard hovered just outside waiting to carry them down to solid ground and safety. Obi-Wan and Anakin’s lightsabers made quick work of cutting through the bridge’s view ports, and soon enough the two jedi and the Chancellor were looking up at the burning spacecraft as it sent large dark plumes of smoke into the Coruscant sky. Aside from the general exorbitant amounts of pollution filling the already hazy atmosphere, Obi-Wan couldn’t quite shake the nagging feeling that kept tugging at the back of his mind, that he had missed something.
Granted he did miss Anakin apparently killing Count Dooku, the one lead the Jedi had on figuring out the true identity of Lord Sideous, but somehow he didn’t feel surprised by that. He absolutely felt a mix of emotions thinking about that duel and what transpired, but surprise wasn’t exactly one of the emotions he felt. At least not in the sense that the duel came to those extremes.
He willed the thought away. He couldn’t continue to dwell on what should have happened, or what he could have prevented if he had not been incapacitated. He told himself it was just his worry about Ahsoka on Mandalore, that he would need to contact her soon. He still couldn’t pin down his thoughts or emotions on that issue either. He knew that Rex, Pyrrha and Bo Katan were with her, but that did little to assure him of any kind of victory against Maul. Again he pushed the thought away. It was out of his hands for the time being. All he could do was petition the council to intervene again now that the Chancellor was back on Coruscant.
“Maybe you hit your head harder than I thought,” Anakin’s voice pierced his thoughts briefly.
Obi-Wan took a deep breath through his nose, and tried not to choke on the awful smell of burning oil and steel before letting it out. “What makes you say that?” he asked, finally facing his friend with a raised brow.
“I don’t know you’ve got that kind of weird spacy look.”
“I assure you I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Just make sure you get your head checked-” Anakin paused mid sentence and a small fighter craft came barreling down toward the surface. If Obi-Wan hadn’t known any better he almost would have thought it was going to crash right into the landing pad.
“What is this about?” The Chancellor said stepping between the two jedi as their own craft finally reached the landing pad.
Obi-Wan’s brows furrowed as Anakin nudged him with his elbow before following the politician. He knew what his former apprentice was getting at, he just wished he wouldn’t be so open about his attempts to tease him. He put the thought aside for a moment. He couldn’t deny the anxious flutter in his stomach as the two person fighter craft touched down a little ways away. He couldn’t deny that he was happy to see the fighter and the two cabins open up from the top, the two women inside moving with just as much urgency as the Coruscant Guard trying to usher the Chancellor onto a transport back to the Senate Building.
In front of him, Anakin and Palpatine seemed to already be discussing the next steps to go after General Grievous, and though Obi-Wan was also eager to bring the war to an end, thinking about that so soon brought back the vague nagging in the back of his mind. He had to remind himself to take things one step at a time. He couldn’t let himself get caught up in those feelings. Then there was still the clean up after, reparations to be made, and the small matter of hopefully letting the senate re-elect a new Chancellor at last.
“Glad to see you’re both in one piece,” The dark haired human woman said. Jankari crossed her arms and though she did sound pleased to see them, Obi-Wan didn’t miss her complete disregard for the Chancellor. He understood she was still grieving the loss of ARC-Trooper Fives and from what he understood of the situation, she held the Chancellor personally responsible for what happened.
“Was there ever any doubt that we weren’t?” he said, unable to stop the grin forming on his face, as the green woman with Jankari barreled into Anakin for a hug.
Jankari raised a brow, keeping her arms tight around her chest, “Well considering how many pieces the ship was in, I’d say there was some reason to doubt.” She stepped aside as Sas let go of Anakin and eagerly jumped into Obi-Wan’s arms.
This was how their reunions went. Sas rarely greeted Obi-Wan first, he tried to only hold her for as long as what would be seen as appropriate. Though admittedly, he always held her for two heartbeats longer than he should and gave her a small squeeze before setting her back down on the ground. It didn’t matter if their current company, namely Jankari and Anakin, had some idea of what Obi-Wan’s relationship with Sas was, they continued to remain committed to their parts. Sas always being much more openly affectionate and Obi-Wan embracing it with a distant amusement.
This time however, was slightly different. Sas huffed in his ear as she squeezed him, and Obi-Wan did his best not to squirm as her breath tickled his skin. “Get out of here. Theres nothing more you can do?” She echoed his words from what felt like a lifetime ago when Anakin tried to get the buzz droids off him. ”Were you trying to give me a heart attack?" She pulled away abruptly an amused smile on her face, despite the waves of anxiety that poured off her in the force. “I have a bad feeling about this? Really? REALLY.” Sas had always been excellent at maintaining her physical composure. She often described her skill as an absolute necessity, and Obi-Wan, though he sometimes hated to admit it, found that it had been useful on several occasions, some of which had little to do with their roles in the GAR.
“Hey we’ve come out of worse things alright,” Anakin cut in as he, Jankari and the Chancellor turned to face Obi-Wan and Sas.
“Thats not the point-” Sas said, crossing her arms as she followed them to the shuttle.
“I think she means the comm silence after that comment had all of us worried,” Jankari cut in, her eyes darting between Sas and the Chancellor as he stepped aboard his shuttle.
Anakin followed after, not looking to see if Jankari or Sas was behind him. Already, the Chancellor had drawn the young Jedi Knight’s attention away again. Of course Obi-Wan wasn’t entirely surprised, as he was sure Anakin had plenty of questions as to how Grievous was able to get to the Chancellor so easily, and if he knew the fate of any of the other jedi who were sent to intervene. Shaak Ti hadn’t been on the ship, nor had there been any other signs of the Jedi sent to protect the Chancellor. Obi-Wan got the sinking feeling that there would not be much celebrating today in the temple.
“You’re really going to wait here?” Sas’ voice pulled Obi-Wan’s thoughts back to the surface. He had one foot already on the shuttle, but still he turned to her in confusion. Instead however, he found Jankari, standing a few feet away watching him warily. Well not really watching him but looking past him to where Palpatine had already sat himself in the shuttle.
“Yeah
someone has to to return the ship to the docks, and after your shaky landing its probably best I just fly the ship alone.” Ever since the incident with ARC trooper Fives, Jankari had a tendency to pull away any time she thought Palpatine would be around or involved in some way. He never discussed it with her, but Sas was deeply troubled when she found out about it. They had both been off-world when it happened, and yet again Sas had expressed feeling inadequate in maintaining her friendship with the hunter. Even now he could feel the uncertainty rolling off both women.
Sas didn’t press though. “Thank you Kari,” he heard her say as she followed him into the shuttle.
Most of the flight to the Senate building passed in welcomed, though slightly uncharacteristic silence. Well, somewhat. Anakin and the Chancellor kept up their conversation as the former updated the other on news from the Outer Rim Sieges. That was only to be expected between the two of them. Obi-Wan wasn’t entirely sure when it happened, or how it started, but Anakin’s friendship with Palpatine unsettled him in ways he couldn’t quite explain. The Jedi Master had a tendency to boil it down to wishing that he could have had that same kind of communication with Anakin over the years. While they were no long master and apprentice, and Obi-Wan trusted no one more than he trusted Anakin, there was still a barrier between them, one that didn’t seem to exist between the young knight and the Chancellor. That shield kept Anakin from confiding in him about his relationship with Senator Amidala, and Obi-Wan couldn’t help but wonder if his friend had told Palpatine about that.
Sas shifted in the seat next to Obi-Wan. She was actually the one uncharacteristically quiet. It wasn’t so much that he was expecting her to mouth off to the Chancellor for likely forgoing some of his own security protocols, as she had done so in the past among other things, it was that she wouldn’t even look at him. He supposed he shouldn’t be surprised though. Four years of knowing Sas and Obi-Wan knew that there was a part of her that questioned whether or not it was actually in the Republic’s favor to rescue the Chancellor. If Obi-Wan were being honest, he was slowly beginning to wonder the same thing.
“Master Kenobi,” the Chancellor’s voice pulled him away from those thoughts. “How much longer do you think this war will wear on? Surely, not much longer with Count Dooku gone.”
Sas crossed her arms and shifted again next to Obi-Wan. Her back was slightly to him, and had they been alone, she likely would have leaned back against him. The end of the war wasn’t something they both really talked about, despite wanting nothing more. Well, at the very least, he knew Sas would always struggle to imagine the end of the war, and now that it seemed within their grasp, he couldn’t quite explain why his stomach churned the way it did.
“I don’t think I’m at liberty to say Chancellor,” he started honestly. “I don’t imagine Grievous has the discipline to keep going on his own, nor the cooperation of other Sepratists Generals, however, how much longer the war lasts would depend almost entirely on how long it takes to catch him.” Just saying that out loud made Obi-Wan feel exhausted. Several times throughout the war he and the 212th had tried to capture the Cyborg and yet nearly every time he managed to find a way to escape. It was incredibly frustrating, but mostly exhausting. The only redeeming thought in it all was the possibility that he and Anakin had also given Grievous and the other Sepratists military leaders just as many headaches over the years.
“It shouldn’t be long,” Anakin followed up. “We’ll have that cyborg dealt with in no time.” There was a confidence in his voice that Obi-Wan always admired and appreciated when he himself was feeling less so, however he had to wonder if Anakin was really thinking through what could possibly follow after.
Again Sas shifted in her seat next to Obi-Wan, and while he and both Anakin were very aware that the green woman tended to move a lot  when seated in a regular chair, it didn’t escape either of their notice that it was after each time commented on the end of the war. He would need to discuss it with her later. For now he would just need to hope that the Chancellor would not question her behavior.
“Miss Vom, is there something else you wish to add? You’ve had just as much experience with General Grievous as Master Kenobi-”
“My opinion has little bearing on the results,” Sas answered curtly.
“I would hardly say that,” Palpatine continued. “I doubt Master Kenobi would have kept you on his command team if your opinions had such little bearing.”
Obi-Wan felt the knot in his stomach tighten a bit at the comment. While everything the Chancellor said was absolutely true, Obi-Wan did value Sas’ input, something about the tone Palpatine used made his nerves crawl. The Chancellor’s words were just a little too close to the truth.
“No, no, no, you see, Master Kenobi and the other Jedi keep me around for what happens when this is all over,” Sas said curtly. Her ability to modulate her voice and features so that she still seemed calm, even playful, despite the frustration that rolled offer her was certainly a feat to behold. “You, Chancellor, have a massive mess to clean up politically when this is all over."
And there it was. Obi-Wan thought she had been doing well. At least this time she waited for him to ask for her comment. He wanted nothing more than to take her hand in his own, let her ground herself and let her know that he'd support whatever heated comment was about to fly from her lips. Instead, she sat up a little straighter meeting the Chancellor’s tired expression.
"Do I now?" Palpatine seemed amused.
"Sas, the Chancellor has been doing his best to keep the Republic in one piece," Anakin interjected.
Obi-Wan had to resist the impulse to roll his eyes. This of course was more for Anakin’s sake than Palpatine’s, but he would leave the remarks to Sas and do damage control after.
"Chancellor, there will be systems on both sides in dire need of aid and supplies, former Sepratist systems that will need to be negotiated with. Winning the war is only one small part of this crisis, there are still the grievances on both sides to be addressed or else this would have all been for nothing."
Obi-Wan felt the corners of his lips pull up ever so slightly. In another life Sas might have made a good politician, or a very poor one who spoke too frankly.
"Sas, it sounds like you want to let these systems off without facing any consequences for their treason," Anakin said, cutting in before Palpatine could speak.
"The Republic failed them, so they left. If the Chancellor does not take the time to consider what changes they'd like to see then we're all for the worst. You might as well put the last of those emergency powers to good use before handing them back over to the Senate and they hold another election."
Obi-Wan wasn’t sure how to describe the shift that overtook the transport at Sas' words. Despite the afternoon sun beaming through the portholes, washing everything in warm golden light, a deep cold passed through him and seemingly drained the color from Sas’ face. He looked between her, Anakin and Palpatine. Despite her green complexion somehow looking faded, Sas kept her composure and sat firmly in her seat. The Chancellor kept a rather placid expression as he watched her with his hands in his lap, but Anakin’s brows furrowed darkly over his eyes.
“All she means to say is that even once the war is over, there is still much to do and many relationships to mend,” he said, hoping to draw some of the attention away from her. “Just as during the war, she would like to continue her part to help the Republic work towards peace.” None of his companions seemed fully appeased by his statement, and the cold still lingered in his core. Obi-Wan didn’t like it, but it was something he would need to discuss with Anakin when they were alone.
Thankfully, the shuttle arrived at the Senate Building before anything else could be said. Obi-Wan watched as the Chancellor swiftly stood up, and exited the ship without another word. Anakin gave Obi-Wan a brief look that the Jedi Master assumed to be talk some sense into her, before leading R2 out of the ship as well. Sas on the other hand stayed seated for just a moment before sprawling back on the seats with sigh. If Sas felt the cold lingering in her, she didn’t let on, in fact she didn't appear to be affected at all. Even as Obi-Wan watched Master Windu and Yoda greet the Chancellor he couldn’t quite shake the cold, and mind grew as hazy as Coruscant skyline.
Despite this feeling, Obi-Wan considered stepping out and greeting a few of the senators, namely Padmé and Bail, but thought better of it as he saw Anakin searching the crowd gathered. He himself quickly searched the crowd as Palpatine greeted them, but noticed several usual faces were missing.
“You’re not going to see your sister?” Obi-Wan called over his shoulder to Sas.
“I talked to her just before the battle. Crix went off world to go visit our mom and our cousins. She’s either coming back tonight or tomorrow morning.”
Obi-Wan gave a brief nod before realizing Anakin was looking back up at him expectantly. Even R2 had already rolled out to mingle with the crowd.
“Are you coming, Master?” Anakin said, and again Obi-Wan wondered if he should. Then again, it wasn’t necessary that he himself debrief the senate, the Chancellor could do that himself, and so could Anakin. They were conscious for more of the escapade anyway, and then there would need to be a Council briefing- Obi-Wan didn’t consider himself prideful but he would be lying if he said he didn’t mind having to explain the fiasco in the lift system more than once.
“Oh no I’m not brave enough for politics,” he answered with a grin, “I have to report to the Council.” At least his excuse was actually a practical one. He was only going to be polite in greeting Bail and PadmĂ©, but truthfully if he could avoid it, Obi-Wan did not want to be swarmed by the senators. His head still hurt, and the thought of being trapped in the echo chambers of the senate building only made it worse. He’d leave the politicians to Anakin, “Besides, someone needs to be the poster boy.”
He could hear Sas let out a snort from behind him.
“Hold on. This whole operation was your idea.”
“Let’s not forget, Anakin, that you rescued me from the buzz droids-” Obi-Wan started.
“Saved, is a strong word,” came Sas’ voice again, but this time much closer.
Obi-Wan tried to keep his thoughts focused as he felt her arms wrap around his waist. “And you killed Count Dooku, and you rescued the Chancellor carrying me unconscious on your back.”
“See you could have used ‘saved’ there instead.” Sas teased quietly, her breath ghosting across the back of his neck. He tried to let it just roll off of him, focus on what Anakin was saying, something about training. He let out a breath, but couldn’t fight the shiver that ran through him. Thankfully, the Holonet reporters were fixated on the Chancellor.
“Anakin, let’s be fair. Today you were the hero, and you deserve your glorious day with the politicians.”
“All right, but you owe me one, and not for saving your skin for the 10th time,” Anakin said, though Obi-Wan almost felt something like relief wash over the young jedi. He knew that, Padme might not have been in the crowd, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t waiting for Anakin. Clearly, he was hoping she was anyway.
“Ninth time. That business on Cato Neimoidia doesn’t- doesn’t count.”
“No it doesn’t, that was all Rouge and Jankari,” Sas chimed in loud enough this time for Anakin to hear.
“I’ll see you both after the briefing,” Anakin said with a wave of his hand before finally moving into the waiting crowd with a shake of his head. Almost immediately his friend was enveloped into the swarm of senators and reporters.
Obi-Wan watched for a moment before turning at the light brush of Sas’ lips over the back of his neck. As the steps folded back up, he let out a breath as he moved his hands over her arms around his waist still. “Patience, My Dear,” he said, lifting one of her hands to his lips.
Slowly, her arms pulled away and he turned to see a mixture of emotions cross her face. They poured off her in waves; concern, confusion, worry, longing, happiness. It wasn’t often that she was speechless, especially when they were alone, but  her brows furrowed for a moment as she tried to search for the right words.
Then there was the  little nagging feeling in the back of his mind. Obi-Wan had thought it would have cleared away with Anakin and Palpatine out of the transport, but still it hung like the thick mass of smoke still rising over the horizon where Anakin had crashed The Invisible Hand. He hardly imagined that it could be coming from Sas.
Taking a seat as the transport started to pull away from the landing platform, Obi-Wan gently guided Sas to sit next to him, one arm draped over her shoulders, the other hand still holding hers. He slowly wove his fingers with hers and leaned over to kiss the side of her head. “I’m sorry I scared you,” he mumbled against her hair. She smelled of metal, blaster fire and sweat still. As she leaned into him, it dawned on Obi-Wan how difficult this battle must have been for her. He was a Jedi Master trained to use the force to navigate intense situations like this battle, she didn’t have that ability, nor did the clones they served with. It was chaotic for him and Anakin, to say the very least. He could only imagine what the battle must have looked like to her. He wished he could promise that it wouldn't happen again, that he would not cause her to worry again, but that was impossible, even if Dooku was dead now. The cloud swirled in the back of his mind.
Just one more thing to add to his list of things to discuss with Anakin.
“Thats a pretty lousy apology, Pretty Boy,” Sas sighed and leaned into his hold. He could feel her shoulders rise and fall slowly as she took in a deep breath. In the reflection of the portviews, he could see the tired smile pulling on the corners of her lips. It was one he knew well. The smile she gave when she had so many thoughts clawing for attention in her head, and she was doing her best to ignore them all to be in the moment.
“Hmmm and how would you suggest I make it better?” He mumbled against her hair. Obi-Wan really didn’t have to ask what she meant by her comment. He knew what her answer would be, but he would be lying if he said he didn’t want to hear her say it. He nuzzled against her head, purposely freeing some loose strands of hair from her braid.
“You can start by making sure your kisses reach their target.” Sas shifted next to him, swinging her legs up so that they were draped across his lap.
“Well, you know there is a way that we can remedy that,” Obi-Wan chuckled as he sat up, moved his arm that was around her shoulder, more around her back and waist so that he could hold her closer in his lap.
“When you say things like that, it makes me think you’re not actually sorry.”
“You might possibly be correct about that.”
Sas narrowed her brown eyes at him. In the sunlight, he could see little green flecks in her eyes, shimmering like plants that grew under the water’s surface off the rocky coast on her own home planet. He wondered if she knew she carried that with her, that looking into her eyes was to see an entire world that she loved and lived for. He slowly untangled his fingers from hers, cupped her face and smiled as she leaned into his touch.
For a brief moment, Obi-Wan held the entire galaxy in the palm of his hand. Attachment was against the Jedi Code, and of course he knew that was exactly what their relationship was, but there was some small comfort in knowing how fleeting this moment was, and that she cherished it just as much as he did. Perhaps it was sad, and said more about their outlook about the end of the war, that they only could only imagine holding onto each other so long as the galaxy was crumbling.
He let out a breath and pressed another kiss to her forehead. They keep me around for what happens after. Sas’ words rang quietly in his ears. He felt his chest ache as he held her a little tighter to himself. She was absolutely right, that he would be requesting her assistance on missions to bring systems back into the Republic. The end of the war wasn’t truly the end. Their work never stopped. It didn’t matter what either of them did, their war, their fight never seemed to end. Another weight settled in his stomach.
"Where's your mind Obi-Wan?" Sas' voice pulled him back into the present. That was the only place he truly wanted to be.
"With my hero, my heart, my glowing star," he answered and smiled at the giggle she breathed out against his lips. He would happily drink in that sound for the rest of his life. Once this war was over, he planned to.
Her hand moved up and through his hair, only to pull away quickly when he involuntarily flinched at her touch. The back of his head, and honestly his whole back were still pretty tender from his fight with Count Dooku. Again her brows knit together with worry. “I was going to say you must have hit your head a little hard in there-” she started. Usually she was so quick to have some kind of sassy quip, but the worry never left her eyes as she tried to lighten the mood. “I hate being right about these things.”
“An hour or two in a bacta tank should take care of it well enough. Besides, there are others who need it more.”
“You mean if I can actually get you to go back to the medbay,” Sas’ hand moved down to his shoulder, guiding him down so that his forehead could rest against her own.
“Well I do have a report to deliver.”
“So do I, and since Anakin left, I guess that makes it my job to escort you there.”
“Sas, you know as well as I do that many of our troops will need medical aid first. Another hour or two without attention will not bring me any harm.” Even as Obi-Wan said it, he felt something was off. Truthfully, it felt as if he wasn’t supposed to survive this mission at all. Only Anakin’s sheer force of will allowed Obi-Wan to return alive and well.
“Yoda and Mace are getting briefed with the senators, why can't you just go get some bacta spray?" Sas had pulled her head away from him by this point, Obi-Wan still held her in his lap, but there was a wedge between them. He could feel it. He wanted to blame it on the cold that had gripped them both a few moments before. She sounded tired and frustrated. He wasn't helping in trying to make light of the situation he was in during the battle.
"If it will ease your mind, I will go to the medbay first," Obi-Wan said at last. He could let go of the situation, thank the force for letting him come out of it alive, but Sas couldn’t and it was much more difficult for her to move past it.
"Thank you, Obi-Wan," she started and looked away briefly. "I just
there was a lot at once- I thought I lost you.
”
Obi-Wan tilted his head and pressed a kiss to her forehead, just above her eyes. “I’m here now, and always will be.”
Sas made a noise in the back of her throat, something that sounded like it could have been a well, but he only let out a small huff out through his nose in answer.
She really didn’t consider that he could choose her, that anyone could choose her to spend their life with. Obi-Wan didn’t want to say how accurate she had been in her statements to the Chancellor about the end of the war. While he knew part of the reason Sas didn’t like to talk about the end of the war was because it left them in a very uncertain relationship, he understood that it was only a very small part of it. Both of them were well aware that the end of the war wasn't actually the end of the war. Negotiations would need to be made, treaties signed, and reparations made on both sides. The Jedi would likely be called in to take care of these situations as well, and so Obi-Wan would be out planet hopping again. Sas however would return to a planet one step away from civil war. The end of the Clone Wars wasn’t the end of their war, and very few people would willingly step into that kind of life. Obi-Wan had decided however, that he would for her, even if neither of them lived long enough to see their efforts rewarded.
He knew all these things and yet, Obi-Wan kept them all to himself. He told himself that it would be better this way. That should something happen to either of them, it would not feel like something was being taken from them. He told himself that he was protecting her, even if he wasn't so sure he believed that.
After a few moments in silence, Sas said, “I won’t ask you to promise not to do that again. I don’t think I would have survived this long if I thought that was a reasonable promise, but can you at least not
” she paused, her fingers thrumming on the back of his neck as she searched for the right word, “...give up so quickly?”
“Give up?”
“Go on, theres nothing more you can do, sounded an awful lot like giving up.”
Obi-Wan sat up a little then, realizing how grim it likely sounded from where she sat in the fight. Before answering he tightened his hold around her, and pulled her more into his lap. “What if instead, should anything dire happen again, I promise to do everything I can to come home, to come back to you.”
"Thats a big promise Obi-Wan," Sas answered, her brows pulled together.
Even as he heard himself say the words, Obi-Wan knew it was a lot to promise. Well, it was a lot for him to promise. Sas' request was more of what anyone would expect of him. That he would do whatever he could to finish the mission. They often left their relationship out of such things, it was easier to separate their duties and their relationship. They both knew what choices would win in the end.
However as Obi-Wan found himself staring at the end of the war practically at his feet, he was surprised to feel so tired and drained. This war was never how he imagined serving as a Jedi, nor did he see this role ending soon. He could tell himself that it was just the bump on his head that made him feel sick, but if updates they'd sporadically received while in the Outer Rim were correct, then even once the war was over the Jedi would not be allowed to return to their status before the war. They were servants of the Force not glorified soldiers or guards, but that was exactly the role he'd played over the last three years. He could not keep going on that way.
"You've got that far away look again, Pretty Boy," Sas said softly. "You don't have to promise me that."
With a soft sigh, Obi-Wan pressed his forehead back against Sas'. He wanted to promise her that. He wished he could give her more, she deserved more. "Perhaps it is a bit dramatic," he answered with a small smile.
"Only slightly more dramatic than what I'm used to from you," she teased. "Just don't give up on yourself so easily."
"I won't," he promised, before gently tilting her chin up and capturing her lips in a kiss. And you don't give up on us, he found himself thinking as he cradled her against him. Her soft lips moved  hesitantly against his, like she was still thinking about his promise, or she was waiting for something to happen. After a few moments, she leaned into his touch and he could feel the tension melt away between them. He felt her flingers tug at his robes as she pulled herself closer to him.
“I love you,” she mumbled against his lips, her hand sliding down over his back to wrap around his shoulder. Sas was always one to hold on tight, to hold on a little longer than she should, and Obi-Wan normally didn’t mind it, but something felt different this time. Something about the way her fingers clutched at his robe, like each brush of their lips could possibly be their last. It wasn’t until he felt the tear slip onto his palm against her cheek, that he fully understood what she was thinking at that moment. Of course He could feel her worry, her fear, and the longing that radiated from Sas, but the missing piece clicked into place finally. She had nearly lost him before, on plenty of missions, but this was the first time since Fives’ death that they had been separated on a mission, the first time he truly, nearly died since then. Of course she was thinking about what had happened to Jankari and Fives, what happened with Pyrrha and Rex after she followed his leads. Obi-Wan felt the chill lingering in the back of his mind seep into his chest. He was not meant to survive the Invisible Hand.
Promises to return home were just as dangerous as a loaded blaster. Making such a promise was simply daring someone to pull the trigger and rip them apart. The Jedi taught that anticipating the future too much could distract from things happening in the moment. Obi-Wan understood that, and found himself turning to that reminder  more frequently. However, Sas had seen too many future hopes collapse to ever feel comfortable thinking about it. She didn’t think or plan for her future because she was afraid to lose it. She was afraid to lose him.
Pulling away slightly, Obi-Wan once again pressed his lips to her forehead. “I love you too, Sas. I love you so much.” A small smile pulled at Obi-Wan’s lips as Sas nestled her head against his shoulder and neck. Holding Sas was like sitting in the warm glow of a campfire. Her spirit could melt the frost that settled in his chest. “I am sorry for worrying you, Darling,” he assured her. He didn’t promise her that he would always come back to her, instead he just held her tighter as the landing platform came into sight of the view port.
For just a brief moment the shadow passed over his mind again. He would need to deliver his report among many other things that needed to be discussed with the Chancellor’s most recent proposal. However the weight on his chest lifted almost immediately when Sas shifted to look up at him again. No matter what, even if he galaxy was falling apart, she would stand with him through it all.
"One more kiss, before we go back to pretending," Sas said, pulling him for a kiss before the transport landed on the loading platform. She was more urgent and hungrier than their previous kiss, but he was more than eager to match her needs. He pulled away breathless and yet still felt like he broke the kiss too soon. She shifted off his lap and gave his hand a squeeze as the shuttle landed. Thankfully there weren’t nearly as many people on the landing deck of the Temple as there had been at the Senate building. No one was actually there to greet them, most were clones or Jedi hurrying by taking care of their own business. Despite being surrounded by his people, and so much of what normally made him feel safe and at ease in his life, Obi-Wan couldn’t help but feel the nagging in the back of his mind. Even as Sas walked him to the med bay, the distance between them seemed immeasurable. He couldn’t explain it, nor was he sure he really wanted to at that moment. Instead, as a medical droid took a scan of his head wound, Obi-Wan felt the warmth of Sas’ kiss on his lips, and the weight of the unspoken promise he intended to keep.

So, I saw a watch mojo video saying (apparently jokingly) that Darth Vader might appear in some form on the Mandalorian, and to be honest, I not only could see it happening, I’d actually be kind of surprised if it didn’t.
I mean, logically, Mandalore is a historically defiant world that the Empire definitely had trouble controlling. By the time of Yavin, the Mandalorians were fighting a civil war to try and kick the Empire and any sympathizers off world, and they eventually decided to just glass the whole planet. The planet definitely had Palpatine’s personal attention to some degree. And Mandalorians are skilled enough warriors that a skilled Mando is a genuine challenge, if not threat, to all but the most skilled and powerful Jedi; in a galaxy short on Jedi to kill, Mandalorians would probably be the next best thing for Vader to fight. It’s also probable that Anakin spent the Clone War quietly eager to fight Mandos and jealous that Obi Wan and Ahsoka kept getting caught up with their fights, and Vader might want to fight Mandos to try and put himself further from Anakin. It makes sense that Vader would have been involved in the Night of a Thousand Tears.
Like, I can see Vader spending years waiting for an excuse to go at the Mandos. Every time Palpatine calls him on Mustafar, he’s inwardly like, “please be Kenobi or the Mandalorians, please be Kenobi or the Mandalorians, please be Kenobi or the Mandalorians, just once, please be Kenobi or the Mandalorians.” And when it finally is the Mandalorians after the Saxons are beaten and Mandalore is in open revolt, he’s just like, “KRIFFING FINALLY I GET TO KILL SOME MANDOS, I’M COMING TO CORUSCANT.” And Palpatine is like, “wait, no, Gideon’s already there,” and Vader’s all, “I’M COMING TO VODE AN THOSE BESKAR BASTARDS, KRIFF YEAH, LOTS OF SOMEONES GOOD TO KILL.”
Hell, I could see Palpatine deliberately holding Gideon back from starting the massacre until Vader could get there. Vader’s in the Imperial Palace, all, “please, please, please, PLEASE let me go fight the Mandalorians,” and Palpatine’s all, “it’s kinda overkill to send Vader after the Mando’ade if we’re already bombing the planet,” and Gideon’s on live hologram call, just staying quiet, trying not to get Skype strangled.
Vader: come on, you wouldn’t let me track down Kenobi, and there’s no one else good to fight right now, lemme at ‘em, lemme at ‘em!
Palpatine: ALRIGHT, fine, you can go fight Mandalorians! Just shut up and get there, you’ve thrown off Gideon’s timetable big time with this whole thing.
Vader, inwardly: oh boy, oh boy, imma fight ten at a time, then twelve at a time, then I’ll take like four or five, just to take a breather, I don’t want to overtax myself. And then Imma fight twelve again, and then

Vader outwardly: Yes, my master.
Gideon, internally: please don’t kill me.
And that is the story of how Vader was the one who took the darksaber from Bo Katan, let her live to see Mandalore burn as a form of torment to her for her defiance, and gave the darksaber to Gideon (who was just relieved not to get executed for having to throw off his plan to accommodate Vader and figured the saber was a bonus) because if he kept it, no new Mand’alor would ever rise, and Vader secretly hoped one would because putting down the Mandalorian uprising was the most fun he’d had in years and he couldn’t wait to do it again.

The Good Jedi: Part Four
Satine: Two transmissions came in to the Mandalorian embassy. Call the Council and whoever necessary. They’ll want to see this.
There were many things Mace enjoyed about being Master of the Order, but being at the beck and call of Republic politicians was not one of them. Except this politician was technically not even a part of the Republic. Or should be alive for that matter.
But he called a meeting for two hours later, staying in one of the seats and reviewing flimsiwork from the last campaign that had been completed by his system army. It was a tedious task, and he was relieved when the members started to file in.
Quiet chatter started to fill the room, familiar voices overlapping each other. Mace glanced at the time and rose, beginning to stack his materials. He gave a nod when he saw Obi-Wan and Duchess Satine walk in, about to say something when he froze.
The room quieted, everyone staring at the addition.
“Evening Mace.”
“...Ahsoka.” Mace bowed his head quickly, feeling red hot shame creep up his neck. He thanked the Force that Anakin hadn’t shown up yet. “Dare I ask?”
Satine sighed, walking to the projector table while she spoke, ignoring the surprised faces. “If we’re going to war - and the odds of that occurring are high,” she sighed while putting the chips into the projector. “I need an aide-de-camp, and it doesn’t make sense to have a Jedi General as one if he has a larger war to fight.”
“And a Jedi padawan is somehow better?” Mace asked with the raise of his brow, aware of the scowls shot his way. “Former padawan.”
“I don’t know about you, but having the Jedi that - “
“‘Snips?!” Anakin stood at the entryway, frozen, the light of the hallway on his back. Padme and Aayla were behind him, both of them staring at young woman. It was not a situation anyone anticipated a week ago, but here they were. Looking between everyone, Anakin frowned and stepped down a few. “What - Obi-Wan - what - “
Rolling her eyes, Aayla pushed her friends away and hopped down the steps. She wasted no time, gathering Ahsoka in her arms. The younger woman melted in a way that she hadn’t yet, tears falling down her cheeks.
Mace watched the scene, the two woman whispering, the quick glare shot at the Chosen One, the reunion taking place. Though he’d been hesitant once upon a time about allowing Aayla into the Order at the ripe age of six years old, and then being the padawan of Quinlan Vos
but in his opinion, Aayla was everything that Anakin wasn’t. Powerful in all the ways her friend wasn’t, holding all the ideals of the Jedi code close and so good at negotiation without sacrificing her virtues. She was good at all of it while maintaining so many loving relationships - platonic, romantic
 everything.
If he had his way, Aayla would be the next Master of the Order. He desperately hoped so.
Yoda cleared his throat, the attention of the room shifting to him. He forced a smile. “Heartwarming this reunion is, but move forward, we need too. Duchess?”
“...right.” Satine sighed heavily, her finger hovering over the play button. “The Mandalorian embassy received two transmissions this morning. One from my sister Bo-Katan, to the system
 and one from Death Watch.”
Bo-Katan shimmered into existence, covered in armor, on a podium, surrounded by her people, somewhere in the mines on one of the moons and planets of Mandalore. Exhausted, fiery

“Mandalorians! I stand before you not as Death Watch
but as your princess. As my sister’s advocate
and I know you all don’t care for me
but we love our Duchess - you love our Duchess - and they have our prince
 and that is unacceptable!”
“They’re fine if you’re captured but they draw the line at Korkie?” Anakin muttered while the Mandalorians cheered and hollered.
“We love our children,” Satine whispered. She didn’t resist as Obi-Wan tugged her closer, wrapping his arms around her middle. The gesture was so intimate, so

oh.
“He’s your son.” Mace wasn’t surprised as they both nodded, and turned back to the Holo.
“We are Mandalorians! We do not cower when outsiders mess with us! And Pre has messed with the wrong clan! We have tasted peace - and no more fighting!” There was more cheering, and Bo shouting in victory alongside everyone.
She froze, the video stopping.
Had he known what would have occurred that morning, Mace would have stayed in bed. He had a headache already, watching the video play in the classroom turned war room and and rubbing at his temples.
“...not good, this is.” Yoda leaned heavily against cane, shaking his head.
“It gets worse,” Satine muttered as the first Holo shimmered away and the second appeared. It was Maul and Visla
and Korkie in the background, bound on the steps of the throne. Beaten, bruised, staring levelly into the camera. A small smile on his face like he had a plan up his sleeve.
“Goddesses
” Padme whispered.
Pre smiled at the camera, looking at his partner briefly.
Maul stepped back, igniting the Dark Saber and putting it by Korkie’s neck.
“The Dark Saber? That’s been lost for centuries
” Mace whispered.
“...Duchess. I’m sure this needs no discussion.” Pre smiled. “I have something you want. One hundred million - “
“Surely I’m worth more than that.” Korkie scoffed, barely reacting as Maul turned the saber around and jabbed the hilt into his temple. He went sprawling, fingers loosening and moving as he struggled to regain his balance.
“One hundred million credits Duchess - your bastard for the throne
 and your life.”
Maul stepped forward, stabbing the saber through Korkie’s leg and smiling at the hisses of pain. He twisted the blade around before removing it, pointing it again at Korkie. “Tick tock Kenobi
 my patience is wearing thin.”

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💗
(Not necessarily in order and subject to change next time I get tagged in one of these)
Anakin and Rex won a war, they can handle two Force-wielding toddlers, right?
Right????
I always come back to this as my #1. @mrtobenamedlater gave me the idea and I ran with it. Everyone lives/nobody dies, crack treated mostly seriously, funny and also a little sad in places, lots of callbacks and fan service. I had a ball writing this one.
A bounty hunter and an heiress get more than they bargained for following The Rescue.
This kicked off my MRR AU. After the S2 finale I said in jest “I think Mando’s gonna have to marry Bo-Katan for political expediency next season” and Mr said “You should write that.” And. Well. I did.
This was one of the first DinBo fics on AO3, if not the first. Even though this AU has stagnated since I lost all my documents for it last year, I love it dearly.
Let Halsey stick an AI in your brain, they said. It will be fun, they said.
Only they never said that, and it is not fun.
Absolute crack. This one was a wild ride. I don’t think it’s my best fic, but it’s absolutely my funniest.
Fair warning: Nothing explicit, but plenty of roasting that which Halo has brought upon itself. I know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.
The Master Chief is only human, after all.
Follow-up to Everyone’s Favorite Scene(TM) in S1. This fic was a lot of frustration and lot of work and a lot of nerves. It was, however, very satisfying to write even if it wasn’t fully canon compliant anymore by the time I finished it. I tried to treat a messy situation (and boneheaded storytelling decision) with the weight it deserved while not making the story unbearable and I like to think I did all right.
Again, fair warning for nothing descriptive but several mentions of canonical sexual content. That is the whole reason the story exists, and all.
NCIS/Halo (TV or game) crossover.
For the crossover-themed International Fanworks Day 2023. I really like the dialogue in this one 😂 and I like the idea of a the UNSC having its own NCIS. I’ve been contemplating writing some more for this crossover AU.

Fic ask: P, R, T
P: Are you what George R. R. Martin would call an “architect” or a “gardener”? (How much do you plan in advance, versus letting the story unfold as you go?)
I’m an architect most of the time! I love plotting out stories and my outlines are usually several thousand words. However sometimes the outline will say “they travel two weeks here + bond” and other times it will be a full paragraph complete with dialogue that I’m imagining right then. By nanowrimo terms I’m a plantser! (Combo plotting and flying by the seat of your pants)
R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?
Rosaria Munda is a huge influence in how I write politics and regime structures, and Nicki Pau Preto is a big influence in fantasy world building and complicated sibling relationships! (I’m an only so I don’t always remember to give my characters siblings😂 and I find those relationships to be harder for me to write)
Blue_Sunshine/ @blue-sunshine-mauve-morning (hope you don’t mind being tagged😅) is also a huge influence on how I plot things. Reading their Desert Storm and Rise and Fall series’ completely transformed my ability to plot stories. Their ability to foreshadow is next level, and every time I reread those I find something new. They also are so so good at writing a multi-pov narrative without losing the reader. I can connect with every character and they all feel so unique. If you like Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jango Fett, Satine Kryze, Bo-Katan Kryze, Anakin Skywalker, Shmi Skywalker, or all of the Jedi that I can’t list here, that’s the series to read. Also I just love the way they write Shmi and female rage, and it definitely influenced how I write anger and hatred in general, both in fic and original work. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again but reading that fic literally taught me more/helped my writing grow more than my actual degree in creative writing did.
T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?
I feel like this is more of a trope in general than just fandom specifically but I can’t stand when female characters lose/give up their magic😭 there’s literally only ever been one book series where that happened and I was okay with it, and only because it immediately gave the narrator the option to get it back if she was willing to brave walking through fire, thereby making her a sort of narrative reincarnation of the first of her people to get magic/beginning the cycle anew.
I’m not putting the name for spoiler reasons but I’m always down to talk about this series if it sounds interesting to anyone. It’s got magic (obvi) and rivals to friends to lovers (I’d say enemies but really they just get off on the wrong foot and they don’t ever actually try to kill each other bc it’s YA and they’re teenagers) and bonded animals and the fallout of a bloody war of succession that left both heirs dead and genuinely nice male characters who respect the women in their lives and multiple canon queer characters (including an aroace girl, a bisexual guy, and two gay guys).
But back to the actual question! I also don’t like unhappy endings😂 I generally won’t read something if I know it has mcd or a sad ending. Unless that’s like
. The whole point of the fic in a ‘this is a classic tragedy’ sort of way designed for catharsis. There was a fic that I read and thought the mcd tag applied to the death in the beginning, so it took me completely by surprise when, after ~60 thousand words of healing from that, the best friend was then killed right in front of the narrator in the second to last chapter. I still can’t listen to ‘somewhere only we know’ without thinking of this fic and it’s been S I X. Y E A R S. Never againđŸ„Č it’s called Paradise and is Young Justice fandom if anyone wants to experience the same pain😌
