I think the funniest thing about slow horses getting nominated for awards and not winning a damn thing is that much like the characters in the show, it goes stunningly unrecognized for how good it is by the establishment and it only displays a higher level of competence for it

I bought new toothpaste bc it was on sale and yknow what I really thought she was going to choose the chicken flavoured toothpaste? But no! She wanted the vanilla ginger one!

I’m so glad I finally properly taught some toothbrushing skills man, I used to just brush twice a week bc tbh it was aversive to us both to just get it over with but this way? We’re both excitedly doing it every single day because it’s fun to do!

Kicking myself for not doing it sooner, I know better 🙃

2 weeks at uni and I’ve already reached peak procrastination. I found masking tape and somehow decided that the best use of my time was to make a tiny Belphemon-sleep.

#I actually can’t wait till student finance have processed my dsa #maybe next year or something I should look for an adhd diagnosis? if I’m having this much trouble focussing and a cup of coffee doesn’t work #anymore as a way for me to focus maybe I should see if meds would help?#(when I got my autism diagnosis i was also told its possible that I have adhd. I’d privately suspected adhd before I considered autism)#like. some days I can focus. it feels like I’m balancing on a knife-edge and it’s very stressful #and I can’t do it on command or anything #but sure #seeing one piece of fanart with Boy from tts #and my whole day goes down the drain because I can’t drag myself away from the series #and listening to video game soundtrack helps but then if I do that too much I start feeling lonely but I can’t listen to a podcast because #then I focus on that above the work I’m meant ti be doing #and even then I might look up other stuff about the video game I’m listening to #and the worst times are when I become self aware and that really breaks my focus but I know I’ve got to keep going #and then at the end of the day I feel awful because I’ve done about 1-2 hours actual work in 6 hours #time I could have spend doing other work or #heaven forbid #enjoying myself #that was more of a rant than I expected #I’m doing ok I think #I hope #i know I’m not meant to compare myself with others #but I’ve done more work than my flatmates #and that at least makes me feel a little better #I’m going to get myself a coffee now #hopefully that’ll help me today #my goal is at least 200 words #then I can stop #actually autistic #autism #personal rant

Back on my meds, making a damn decent paycheck despite how many days I had to take off this month, my mom’s feeling better now that she’s home and we’ve figured everything out, our neighbor’s gonna build us a wheelchair ramp for cheap, and my dad miiiiiiiiight be buying a new car as we speak 🤞 (my mom just can’t get into the truck anymore, and she hasn’t wanted to drive her two seater for a while now, so we’re trading it for something practical). Things are finally going fairly well, all things considered ❤️

#she speaks #after the absolute hell we’ve been in all October I think we deserve a fucking break #hopefully this post doesn’t jinx the car lol #we’re keeping the truck obv cuz like we got livestock #but the lil beamer has got to go unfortunately #sad it’s a fun lil car #but it hasn’t been getting the love it deserves and it’s time for something more suited to our needs as a family #kinda exciting really I hope we get it #we all fucking hate spending money so both my parents have been waffling on it for a couple of days #but like I told them mama you got a doctor’s appointment next week for your g tube #and then a hospital follow up with our pcp the week after that #and you’re gonna have to see a gi and a nutritionist pretty regularly #and there’s gonna be more surgeon follow ups I’m sure #and eventually we’re gonna need to take you to outpatient pt cuz we can’t have a home health pt forever #cuz insurance only pays for it for like six weeks #so either we’re gonna have to rent a car every time you go to the doctor #or we gotta buy one #and like this isnt going away you’ll have to go to the doctor often #cuz you’re missing like half of your small intestine #so getting a rental all the time is gonna suck #it would be better to have a car you can get in and out of easily just on hand #not to mention eventually you’re gonna wanna get out of this house just for the hell of it #and it’s not like we can wake up one morning and decide hey let’s go on a day trip #and then waste two hours driving back and forth from the nearest enterprise #which is on an extremely busy two lane highway and is FUCKING terrifying to get to lmfao #so with any luck my dad will keep that in mind and not back out at the dealership lol

SO MUCH content but out of order #and it’s messy so I’m spending a lot of time going back and cleaning up what I wrote a few months ago when I had half a brain working haha #BUT I do work on writing every day #almost there!!!!#and a lot of what I have is like my current favorite writing #because I’ve been scrutinizing it so much #I think it’s my best work yet and I’m happy with it #AND I’ve been revising all the published chapters of HFBE #fixing problems that I had in the first chapter before I had a beta reader #and the second one too #and generally rewording things to flow better and fit the current vibe #I’ll be updating all the AO3 chapters with the updated versions when I post the next chapter for it ^^

This may be a good and normal thing but I have absolutely zero regrets about having purchased the laptop last night. Like all day yesterday and even as I was buying I was going oh god should I should I not but now I’m not even having second thoughts about the huge display lmao

#SO FUCKING GLAD that I actually did some extra research rather than just going meh the one I looked at before is probably better #I think it was a SIGN that I got paid a little early for the month’s work and then like the day after the laptop I bought went on sale #(Didn’t actually pay immediately so I didn’t USE any of that money but that is besides the point)#Only with the reservation of man… it’s big… and heavy… and REALLY huge and that’s bad…#I HAD deep down been going ‘man if only there was a bigger laptop with the same specs as the one I wanna buy’#And then!!! This baby pops up!! With a big display and BETTER specs!!!!!!!!#Cannot begin to express my excitement at playing Real People Games like that hasn’t even been a POSSIBILITY #Stray is at the top of my list right next to ranch of rivershine #And also probably Elden Ring that shit looks NEAT #(Also yes there is a catch and a reason this one is cheaper even though it’s better! The one I was planning on getting had an OLED display #This one’s just a normal good old LCD display. But in all honesty that is ABSOLUTELY a sacrifice I’m willing to make lol)#z talks #not horse game #Also the fact it’s not currently in stock so I’ll be waiting almost 3 weeks for it also very much feels like a good thing #Like. I have a Date on which I can expect to Receive It. And that means I have a very set time frame for the stuff I want to do to prepare #(mainly organise my cloud storage to make sure everything’s where it should be)#(but that’s a bigger problem than it might sound like because I have a LOT of files)

I’ll brb - narrowly made it to my weekend and I can barely keep my eyes open, so I’m going to pause the queue so I can sort it when I don’t have scrambled eggs for brains.

#Sorry the semi-hiatus became longer by 5 days - that was NOT intentional #Work kinda ran me ragged the past couple weeks #BUT! I’m finally off! On a proper weekend! And I’m sure I’ll still be overwhelmed & recharging the next few days-#- but I finally have time for that #I have a lot I need to do after what felt like 15 continuous work days (there were a couple days off in there but I sure didn’t feel them)-#- but some of those things are fun. Like getting back to the cosplays now that the weather is getting better for outdoor crafting! & hiking #But right now I’m gonna go collapse in bed & sleep like a rock. G’night all.
