Jimin's thoughts are 오밀조밀

Long time no see! Today I'm bringing over a cute conversation between i-kookminers and k-kkms on Twitter. The lovely @goldenhickeysandramen sent it my way yesterday, and we woke up to replies from korean jikookers explaining the cultural context behind JK's words in a w-live. I found it so cute I couldn't not bring it to your attention here.

The first post was made by someone curious about why korean fans found this JK clip so adorable.

The phrase OP was pointing out is the following (JK's 27/03/23 live, min 51:51):

확실히 이게 사람마다 생각하는 게 많이 달라. Certainly, the way every person thinks is very different. 지민 형의 생각이 약간 오밀조밀하는 거 같아. Jimin hyung's way of thinking is a bit meticulous. 오밀조밀하다기보다 엄청 뭐라해야 될까… Well, more than meticulous, how should I say it...

The word he used to describe Jimin's way of thinking is 오밀조밀 (/oh-mil-cho-mil/). This word is a little difficult to translate because it's a 고사성어 (故事成語), aka a 4-letter-idiom that typically comes from ancient Korean literature or history.

(Before the invention of hangeul, the korean alphabet we all know, Korean used Chinese characters (also known as hanja) to transcribe Korean words and sounds. The heritage of this tradition can be found in words like this, or in the use of hanja in newspapers. Let me know if you want to know more about this!)

오밀조밀 is made up of these 4 characters: 奧密稠密.

奧 means deep, 密 means tight or dense (fun fact, it's one of the two characters that makes up the word 'secret', so it also has the meaning of 'hidden'. Secret in korean is 비밀 /bimil/ or ひみつ /himitsu/ in japanese, 秘密) and 稠 also means thick or dense.

But what does this word actually mean? Why did Jungkook using it cause so much fuzz?

Like OP and other korean fans have said, it's used to describe tightly packed, or delicate and meticulous things.

When I first saw the clip, I agreed with JK. Jimin's extreme attention to detail and delicate and catious thinking, both as an artist and a person, can surely evoke this word. I'd only ever seen that word used to describe someone's facial features, in one of those highly specific and slightly funny ways that Koreans have to compliment someone's physical traits, but I didn't think twice about JK's choice of words.

However, cultural nuance is so important and it cracked the code for me. Here's an explanation:

As you can see, the word still holds that delicate and tight meaning, but it's not used for abstract things such as thoughts. If you look up the hanja dictionary, it describes "a refined and detailed appearance regarding craftsmanship and skill/a very meticulous and detailed appearance." Synonyms include words like 'cute' and 'pretty' (아기자기 is one of them, which means small and cute, baby-like. Isn't that the most Jimin word you've ever heard??).

Like I told @goldenhickeysandramen, nobody knows (or loves) Jimin better than JK. So, yeah, of course Jungkook thinks that Jimin is 오밀조밀, despite how unconventional it may sound. Even his thoughts are pretty to him. 🥺💖

From Chapter 57 of @contumacious-arcadia's fic, What a Soul Can Accomplish! Go read it. It's such a fantastic slow burn and I am always intrigued by sci-fi mystery elements lol. Here's the scene the art is based on:

"The Overlord is staring down into the package, one massive claw clasped over his mouth in shock.  He seems to be… glitching?  It’s a strange sight, and though Lucifer’s ability to read him grows more skilled with each passing day - he has no idea how to take this reaction.  Alastor is stock-still, completely unmoving.  He isn’t sure the Overlord is even breathing.  His static aura is fluctuating wildly and the room has darkened so much that it almost seems like the little seating area suddenly exists within some otherworldly void.  

He unconsciously braces before he realizes that Alastor isn’t transforming, at all.  

This isn’t rage.

All he can think to do is wait, and so that’s exactly what he does. " 

Confession time, I actually have another scene in this same fic sketched out, and I was working on it when I read this scene instead and then I couldn't get this image out of my head. It demanded to be drawn first, I guess. And I gave the seating area Al's fireplace. Idk if that was accurate, but it made for some fun lighting lol (and honestly the newspaper clipping was fun to draw too). Thank you to Contumacious Arcadia for such a compelling well-written story!! Radioapple aside, the plot has me completely hooked and I always stop what I'm doing whenever I see there's a new chapter out. This is currently my favorite fic, and I really hope to make more art for it soon :) I hope you enjoy this one in the meantime.

Like I said I would, I'm going to go through the details I hid in my recent FNAF painting. Not because anyone asked, but because I want to and I'm proud of everything put in

1. Michael's design is my own! I've pretty much had the same concept for the design since SB came out. I just really liked the idea of having part of his jaw missing for no particular reason other than it looks cool. But, I have since moved the jaw gap to the other side, as well as defining scars and wrinkles.

2. I've already posted Golden Freddy but here he is again. I redrew the original poster since I really didn't feel like I just should just slap the original on there. Since I had that freedom now, I decided to make references in the design to later games since it is appearing as a hallucination(?) to Michael. Obviously there are blood stains around the mouth to reference The Bite of '83 and I also added tear stains to reference Evan/CC, said victim of the bite.

3. The classic "Celebrate!" poster. The same thing with Golden Freddy, I didn't feel like I should copy and paste the original so I drew it myself, but this time I only drew the bottom half of the crew since you'd only see that part anyway. Maybe one day I'll fully recreate the poster but for now, this is it lol (You may also notice that I gave each of them different leg shapes, to make them more distinguished from each other other than just colour)

4. And again, didn't want to just copy and paste, so I re-typed all of the newspaper clippings myself in Canva. They say pretty much the same thing as the originals, but I'll still put them here anyway in case anyone wants to take a look:

5. I also recreated the children's drawings myself. Fun fact: I actually used my NON-dominant hand to draw most the basic shapes. I figured that if I drew with my dominant hand, the lines might look too clean, showing my obvious years experience. It's silly but I really wanted it to look and feel like a child drew it

6. It ends up being pretty much invisible in the final painting, but on the floor you can see old confetti and blood stains on the tiles

8. Now it should it obvious by now that I chose to not draw the security office. Why you ask? I'm still new to drawing more detailed backgrounds, and I really didn't feel like drawing the office in the moment lol so I opted for the hallway, and I think it still looks pretty good with what I was going for

9. As a bonus, here's the original sketch I planned out. As you can see, I was originally planning to have more posters, some featuring the missing children. But in the end, I decided to scrap it and leave room for the wall to be more detailed since I thought it looked bare. Also, if you look closely, you can see a faint plan for a shadow over Mike. I was originally planning to put a shadow of Freddy there, but when I really started finishing up the shading, I realised that the extra shadow would be too much for an already dimly lit scene

And that's pretty much everything! I had so much fun doing all the little details and references, even though it did end up being more time consuming lol. I also tried out a bunch of different rendering techniques and I think they really helped pulled everything together. I'm definitely going to try my hand and making more paintings like this in the future ^^

Imagine there's a mom at the preschool that doesn't hide her flirting with Noah, but he somehow forgot to mention that before he took you to Luna's preschool event for the first time. She acted like you didn't exist and continued flirting with Noah, ocasionally touching his arm. You were furious.

She started talking about another upcoming school event, a competition actually. How her and her daughter already started working on the project, because little Julia really wants to win. And suddenly, you were in competition with Julia.

When you're driving back home you ask Noah about the project and he says they already made something for Luna to present, but when you see it you just say "That's not enough for a win." and Noah frowns a little, because it was mainly his work, Luna wasn't much of a helper.

So the next day you bought all the supplies and started working on new project, cursing and mumbling for yourself.

Luna and Noah would just look at you from a far, confused with what exactly is your goal.

When you wouldn't stop talking about the mom and the project later in bed, Noah would finally realize what's all of this about.

"You're jealous!"

"I'm not! I just want Luna to win!"

"Liar. You want to win." he'd laugh at you for being jealous that much that you made the best project from the whole class.

But you were very happy with the outcome, and so was Luna because she got her prize for doing literally nothing.

When the three of you were taking pictures you made sure to give Noah long kiss on his cheek when Julia's mom was looking in your direction.

I can see totally the floor of Noah's livingroom covered in markers, paper, newspaper clippings and drawings lol. Luna is just happy with all the mess.🥹

The timeline autism pleads for the Makoto/Komaru age post

HELL YEAH LET'S DO THIS.

So, Komaru Naegi is the younger sister of Makoto Naegi, as we know. Makoto's birth date is 2/5, while Komaru's is 5/31, just under 4 months apart. Therefore, Makoto's and Komaru's birth years must be at least one year apart.

A school year in Japan starts in April, and Makoto and Komaru are on separate sides of the cutoff. Makoto would be in the younger part of his class, while Komaru would be in the older half of hers. Because they're over a year apart, this means that they're 2 grades apart.

In the UDG opening, Komaru introduces herself and her life in the apartment to the audience, stating that she's been trapped in here for roughly a year and a half, and that she got kidnapped after the unrest of the Tragedy had already begun.

Another clue comes from a clipping from a newspaper. Notably, every other clipping from this group of collectibles is implied to have been released either immediately before or during the events of the game, as they revolve around Towa City and its collapse. The one I'm calling to, though, is speaking on the death of Junko Enoshima, specifically citing that it's been 3 months since her death. This is one of the ones that still speaks positively of how safe Towa City is, so we know it came before, but quite likely not by much.

The final clue is from that very unfortunate minigame Kotoko puts us through in chapter 3. It opens with a line from Kotoko, stating that it's "the opposite of child porn" and therefore makes it okay to keep the game's rating where it is. This all but confirms that Komaru is of legal age in the game, and because they never actually state her age at any point, it means that the character must be assumed as of legal age regardless of what country you're playing the game in. Ergo, she's at least 18.

Now, let's go back to when the game is taking place. Just over 3 months following Junko's death and the end of THH. This is rough estimation, but we can reasonably assume that THH took place during April. While you might think there's no way to guarantee this, the cherry blossom trees in the dojo prove otherwise. They're in bloom, and normally are in bloom in the spring, late March-early May. So we know that it is happening around the time of year the characters think it is, even if it's not the same year. If we want to take it a step further, Byakuya states in one of his FTEs that it's his birthday, and Byakuya's birthday is 5/5, but that's not exactly reliable testimony considering he's wrong about the year, and may be wrong about the exact date as well. That said, THH takes place over the course of just over 3 weeks, so it's entirely reasonable to say that it could be May by the time the game ends. This would put that "3 months" article either near the end of July, or the start of August, and the events of UDG therefore most likely in August. Why is this important?

We know that Makoto and Komaru are at least 2 grades apart, that THH and UDG happen in the same year, and that Komaru is 18 during UDG specifically. Komaru's birthday, once again, is 5/31. That would mean her 18th birthday takes place between the two games, and that this would hypothetically be her last year of high school were there no Tragedy taking place. It stands to reason, then, that Makoto's "last year" was 2 years ago, meaning he's 19 now.

If Makoto's 19 now, then he was 17 entering Hope's Peak, as you can enter at age 16 or 17. I've already gone over why Makoto's class entered in April 2011, so assuming we're right, that would put Komaru turning 18 in 2013 and born in '95, and Makoto born the year before her in '94.

I'm at work so I can't pull up any screenshots or anything, but I can go hunt them down later. This whole post is kinda running on memory lol but that's my theory!

OUGH MMM I would say it was to make the two drawings with an specific color scheme! One is black and white because is a newspaper clipping and the other is a sepia photo. idk if I've made clear, but SWOJ is told through photos, blog/news articles, newspaper and other document clippings, and written narration by Rose. I do draw all of those things lol and there are some just straight illustrations in there but it is not a "comic" in that sense.

reasons for this are: 1) easier to do; the point is to make this project and release it, not sit on it forever to make it as pretty as possible 2) lore related: this is meant to be a "tell-all" by Rose and is set up like a documentary almost. Some things that are well known to us (like Rose and Odelia being romantically involved) are actually revealed to the public through these documents and it's thus treated as a bit of a reveal. Which I think is fun :^)

Olivers makes nice with the Hollywood elites, directors, and producers. Oliver lures them in with his accent and gentlemanly charm. (Plus, Americans really fawn over a cockney accent) He’ll glean information about what things are like for you on set, whether is there a co-star you don’t like / butt heads with/ find creepy, etc, so that he has more ammo to use on you later. 

The dude definitely has a pristine shrine of yours decorated in pinks and blues, complete with enchantment candles, crystals, and incantations all designed to get you to notice him and think of him. Nothing has seemed to work yet, but you did like a few of his posts on Instagram and Twitter.  

Of course, he has sent you cupcakes and other goodies from his bakery to try, and since he runs a legitimate business, you don’t hesitate to eat. (It’s too cute not to eat since he had a decent level of popularity himself.) But don’t count on it always being poison/drug-free. The first few batches are to gain your trust.  

Once he’s gathered enough info, he has a full setup plan to nab you and keep MI6  off his trial and suspicion away from him. He’ll send you one last batch of assorted sweets that know you, your security, & entourage out. Oliver takes care of your video cameras with his magic & leaves no trace. No one will be able to find you.

He attends most of your shows with a VIP pass, where he’ll always want to shake your hand. François will give you his number every other time he sees you backstage in the hopes that you’ll shoot him a text. Every time you see him though he does make your neck hairs stand on high. 

He keeps a picture of you that he expertly took like a paparazzi cameraman in his wallet. He keeps a faint hope that maybe one day you’ll see him more than some adoring fan. 

François does have enough influence to have one of the interns who worked under you steal some of the lingerie or costume(s) you used in one of your shows. 

Follows all of your Twitter and Instagram posts so he can get a good dopamine hit. He will print out your saucy ones & pin them too his walls.

Dude definitely has hacked your home security cameras so he has a decent idea of your habits and routines. 

Has spent time making a collage in his office made from magazine clippings, newspaper articles, things he’s found on Weibo, South China Morning Post, etc there isn’t a piece of news or update he’s missed form you. 

Zao is charming and knows how to rizz you up, and he managed to get you to go on a date with him. Being a drug lord who controls most of the Chinese trade and is a powerful political figure, it’s easy for him to take you somewhere exclusive and elusive for a date. Zao will sweet-talk you and shower you with expensive gifts. However, during the date, he’s careful not to give away how much he actually knows about you. He has to downplay that to keep you at ease. If you reject him and don’t want to have a committed relationship with him he won’t outwardly show his rage…at first. 

Zao and his crew will collect you when you’re at some glitzy party. Your critical thinking skills will be marred too much by booze and drugs, especially the ones that make it’s way into one of your drinks. 

2p Russia 

Viktor will keep a journal and give critiques on how you could improve your performances. He never misses a single broadcast, livestream, or when you’re featured in another person's song or in one of those daytime talk shows he usually abhors but you being a topic makes it interesting. 

When you walk the red carpet he’s stolen some member of the press credentials so he now has an advantage to get perfect shots of you, that he’ll later add to his scrapbook collection. 

Viktor will even indulge in reading x reader fanfictions he’ll find across the internet. Viktor is a lurker he won’t comment, subscribe, or interact with posts nada. He’ll observe and print his favorite ones he keeps in a file for his enjoyment when he has a shitty day. He does rank his favorites in which would be the most realistic senarios. 

He will dabble in poetry and pull some strings to ensure you see his masterpieces while you’re in your dressing room, along with a few gifts he’s left behind. 

2p America 

Allen is one of your more rowdy fans when he attends your live performances. Allen puts his all into it when he cheers for you. It feels like he’s reached a new level of euphoria when he sees you on stage hitting extremely high notes. 

Allen of course attends all of your concerts with backstage VIP passes. He will be extremely touchy with you. He doesn’t do anything that would get him kicked out but he feels up your upper arms, waist, and of course will want a hug from you. 

Allen will ask you to autograph his bicep. Later on he will get it tattooed on himself. 

He’ll clean himself up extremely nicely & chat you up at every club, event, & appearance you’re at. The mantra that he lives by: ‘Someday you’ll love me doll & I’ll have you for myself.’ 

2p Canada 

Mathieû had been following your career since it’s infancy. He attended all of your small events as they gradually grew. He was always in the background, recording, taking pictures, and notating your behavior. 

On occasion, Mathieû successfully followed you home & surveyed your entire house. He beats off other stalkers because that job only has one position for him. 

He knows your favorite cafes you like to frequent & once a month he will buy you your favorite drink and simply leave his signature with his cellphone number attached. 

You once left your jacket at a nightclub and yeah you’re not getting that back. Mathieû will relish in your natural scent & trademark perfume. He lets Kuma have a whiff so he can hunt you down when the right time has come. 

1p Romano 

Lovino's house is filled to the brim with all of your merch from concerts and brands that have endorsed you. 

Attends all of your concerts, appearances, & small VIP events. Nation’s meetings be damned! Seeing you again in show was far more important than attending those. 

Lovino does try to be discreet and smooth when stalking you when you’re out in public to get photos or to simply admire you, only to be apprehended by security. 

Bro has a Twitter stanning you and burning any fucker alive that criticizes you. 

Lovino has to fall back and stalk all of your socials. Writing & reading fanfics daydreaming about the days you’ll notice him. 

1p Spain

Only your music & flamenco plays in his house. 

Antonio's obviously happy face will be one you always see in the front row at your shows. He’s got a little bit of a tug on your heart with that charming and disarming smile of his. 

He’ll come armed with roses & a waterproof tracker hidden well within them. He will track you back to your house and strike when you’re away so he can claim your undergarments as his trophies. He will leave a singular red rose on your dresser with a card written in Spanish. It reads

33. What do fear demons look like to Rook?

For Aylin I think fear demons look like undead, but wearing clothes or trinkets belonging to those they hold close. Like they're being hunted down by dead friends, with the implication being that they couldn't save them. Nightmares definitely get worse after the Varric reveal and the events of the endgame. Visiting the Necropolis with Emmrich and hearing his take on death and the undead does help with the fear somewhat, but not enough to make them shift into something else.

For Darys fear demons are all about what could lurk in the shadows, becoming twisted creatures that slip around the edges of his vision. Sometimes they look more like Darkspawn, sometimes more like people, always with hands reaching out to grab him and pull him down into the darkness. His least favourite kind of demon to encounter, excepting perhaps despair. He does not have a good time with all the despair demons in the game. Too full of empathy and too easily pulled in.

35. Ultimate comfort food meal:

Lol I actually put Aylin's in a fic, though the chapter has yet to be posted. They love Antivan cooking, and their absolute favourite dish has to be sopa coàda. Which I definitely found by googling traditional foods to the real city of Treviso in Italy. It's a slow-baked dish of layers of pigeon meat and bread, covered in cheese and pigeon broth. Its warm and hearty and simple, perfect for them.

Darys has somewhat lower expectations when it comes to food, and has been pleasantly surprised by everything introduced to him by Bellara and Lucanis. To him, the best comfort food in the world would be freshly baked bread with a big pat of butter. Maybe a thick soup or stew to go with it, but it's all about that warm, fresh bread.

39. What is their room at The Lighthouse like?

Aylin's room is pretty bare bones. They still have their space in Antiva, why would they unpack here in the Fade where things might disappear? They have a few trinkets here and there: a vase of flowers from Harding and an ancient elvhen trinket from Bellara, books from Emmrich and a copy of Varric's Tale of the Champion, a carved crow from Davrin and a newspaper clipping from one of the cases they and Neve solved together in Dock town. New things, for their new life, but ready to go at a moment's notice.

On the other hand Darys is determined to make the room his. He's spent the decade or so of his life living in Grey Warden camps and barracks, never having his own space beyond his bedroll or his bunk. So he's covered his room in the Lighthouse with any decor he can find, though taste is something he's yet to acquire. He lets Lucanis take him shopping for fancy linens and soft pillows and Harding give him potted plants, and has a whole table dedicated to Necromantic Items in the hopes of pleasing Emmrich whenever he should take the opportunity to visit him in his room. He has a whole set of carvings from Davrin and some serials gifted to him by both Bellara and Neve on top of one of the bookshelves.

Anon is requesting headcanon #18 from this prompt meme (from… a few months ago… May. to be exact 😳 sorry for the late response lol 😅)

18. Favorite possession headcanon.

In canon as we all know, Nicholas’ most important possession is that old newspaper clipping of Robert, and for Seiji it would be his fencing journal. But the question being asked here is for favorite possession so… onwards!

For me, both of their favorite possessions would actually depend on the au that I’m writing for, and while I have several aus simmering on my brain at the moment, I surprisingly don’t have many favorite possessions penned into their stories yet. But if we’re going for in-general or “praline-canon,” I’d say that polaroids or pictures of any sort could easily fall into the this category. Photographs are an easy thing to be sentimental about, and neither of them seem too materialistic—Seiji who has it all, and Nicholas who… doesn’t. It could be of anything, honestly. A sneaky pic of the other smiling or laughing, a picture of the duo together, or even a picture of King’s Row’s fencing team having ranked in some future competition.

Canon has slim pickings of belongings for both Seiji or Nicholas, and I feel like headcanoning Nicholas’ leather jacket or any accessory of Seiji’s is sort of a cop-out answer. I will say though, that I don’t think Nicholas’ fencing shoes are a “favorite” possession of his; he just, owns them.

2- Exscaleibur is quite literally a plain bearded dragon, nothing magical about him so he can visit the library whenever! Rose just doesn't bring him all too often in case she gets too busy to look after him, but Dear helps out with babysitting!

3- She's since moved them to an archive at a museum as an anonymous donor, but she used to have a filing cabinet full of newspaper clippings and magazines of historical discoveries that turned out to be completely wrong. She found so much joy in the discoveries of the world and how them being incorrect changed history.

4- Beth: Whenever people sit in on a person's fitting just to nitpick their body and make judgmental comments. She's tossed out multiple spouses, parents, and "friends" in her time at the shop.

Rose: Dog-earing the pages in books

Abby: People who leave their food in the back of her seat, she keeps her car so nice! It's just rude.

Simon: When people think they can return unused meat that they bought.... Yes, it happens.

Chloe: When people think they can get extra services and more expensive items if they dangle a nice tip in her face.

in the midst of ivory rain...

in the midst of ivory rain, i've been working on another fic. i've called it my "scrap fic" due to most of the chapters being relatively short and quick. it is also in an entirely different format than what i am used to writing--some of the chapters are in regular chapter format while others are "transcriptions" of audio files, official forms, and notes left by a variety of characters.

it is an au that entirely reshapes the pjo world, and is mostly told from the perspectives of percy, annabeth, leo, and nico. i don't want to give away too too much (though i'm about to anyway lol) , though i thought i would share some snippets to see if anyone is interested in seeing how the story would unfold.

Just like that, someone like Riptide could take off the mask and blend in with the rest of New York City. Other kids like him, ones that could mess with other elements or fight off the monsters, could be at the grocery store or in Public School #831.

The kid was right. The attacks have been getting worse. Even before that kid's time, the world was a wasteland. But as long as they had heroes to protect them...maybe things wouldn't be so bad.

Baldur's Gate 3 Playthrough Complete!

After 183 hours! Some final thoughts as well as details about the ending I got and where everyone ended up!

Will I play it again? I do not know. It is SO LONG. It has utterly consumed me for weeks. I need to put it down for a while at least. But I am satisfied with my ending and it's been so much fun!

Raphael's battle theme was baller.

I wish I'd bothered to keep Jaheira alive at Moonrise, because being forced to kill Minsc as a result did not feel very nice.

Before fighting the brain, Orpheus declined to hear me out on the whole "if we need an illithid, I know a guy in the city who could be persuaded to help," so he therefore volunteered to become an illithid himself for the drama~. I was able to persuade him not to kill himself for the drama, though, so he is alive and well someplace where he keeps an eye on Lae'zel as she conquers Vlaakith and leads her people to glory.

In the end, we all lived. Except the Emperor, who didn't believe in the crew so hard that he just decided to join the haters.

Gale and I got married because I have a thing for nerds and he is a sweetheart. He goes back to Waterdeep and becomes a professor at his old school.

Wyll and Karlach stayed in Avernus and they do Doomslayer sh*t on the daily. At the timeskip party, it sounds like they fell in love and that is EXACTLY what I want for Karlach! Also they have leads on a fix for her engine! And I can hug her at the timeskip party!! But only once. Also, Wyll's somehow able to visit his dad? And his dad is proud of him.

Astarion has his freedom and is accepting of his inability to walk in the sun, but he's definitely keeping his eyes out for a solution. I was under the impression he'd go join the other spawn in the Underdark, but he did not explicitly say so. He is doing some general heroic adventuring! He seems satisfied. Though he is salty Withers did not provide blood for him to drink at the timeskip party. Fair.

Shadowheart has been chilling in a Selunite temple in Waterdeep this whole time and has presumably seen Gale AND Tara but not ME?? Gale has some explaining to do. Actually, that was only one stop. She's been travelling the world while fighting off the odd Sharran attacker or two. She accepts as many hugs as you want to give her, 10/10.

Halsin is the most precious. He has set up a settlement for refugees in what used to be the Shadowlands. He is much more at peace there and tells stories to the children. I'm glad he's settled and seems to have found his purpose. Also, he whittled me a duck! You can hug him as many times as you want, too (10/10).

The owlbear cub has made several new friends! One of which he ate in revenge. Well. I always have pets to spare for my good boy. I volunteered Shadowheart to take care of him and they were both exstatic with the arrangement. Apparently Shadowheart gave him many pets and treatos on our adventures, which is a cute tidbit to learn. I could also have volunteered Halsin, but I thought Shadowheart would most benefit from another companion.

Scratch is living with a new owner in Baldur's Gate and is still very happy to see you. I always have pets to spare for my good boy.

Volo came uninvited! He wanted to let me know he's been writing tales of our heroic deeds and forging my name on all the associated paperwork. Why did I help him, again?

Withers booked a bard named Milil to play for us during the party. He is apparently Important, but I know nothing about DnD lore, so I am grateful for my successful Religion check. He was upset no one knew who was playing for them. I told him it was an honor to listen to him and that seemed all he needed to cheer up. He and I and Volo all played a song together.

There are a bunch of letters from people you've helped in a box. My top 3 reveal that Alfira opened up a bard school, Arabella is learning magic from Gale (whom she calls Beard Man), and Dammon wants Karlach to call him, lol.

There are newspaper clippings on the wall beside the letter box that, among other things, mourn Minsc and Jaheira's deaths. I'm so sorry.
