First things first: New Winslow is a serialized story. It is released seasonally, then each season is released as an ebook. You can read the series for free on my Patreon (posts are public, Patrons gets early access), EnfieldArts.com, or by downloading the ebooks for free on various retailers.

It's a slow moving paranormal mystery that was originally meant to be an audio drama. It's filled with queer friendship, wrestling with the idea of home, and the need to face the consequences of your decisions, good and bad.

It's also about Central Massachusetts and the Quabbin Reservoir, but probably not in the way you're thinking.

Some spoilery discussion below the cut, including some sexual talk.

If I have any regrets for how this series has gone, I honestly wish I'd included on-screen sex from the start. There's plenty of discussion and innuendo, as well as a few fade to black moments, but the closest I have is an episode in S7 when Roman and Celine finally get some alone time, but it's fade to black repeatedly cut through with chaos. But sex is such a major part of this story, and I feel like this playlist out of all of them showed this even back in 2019 when I made it.

(and yes, I've written some sex scenes that didn't end up staying in. And there's one in particular between Noah and Jude [neither of which are a part of this playlist] that I'm particularly happy with. It's all healing and care and yes, bondage. I alluded to it in the squirrel funeral scene in S4, so it's canon. But dropping the scene in after 4 seasons of a particular style wouldn't have worked well.)

But the playlist. Again, mostly vibes like the New Winslow one.

i like how barton went from being like... a hippie in terms of how he viewed sex in his early twenties, then kind of abstained from it for a few years / became sexually repressed, which... definitely isn't such a good thing. BUT then he became even more of a freak (and i do mean that in the good way this time LOL) around the time he started residency because WOW is that shit stressful. though that was also unfortunately around the time when he really started to spiral as well 😬 but we don't need to talk about that ahahhh

like the way this man learned how to express his sexuality REALLY came full circle in the end considering he was like 'yeah, back in the early days that i was in college, i was a freak. but now i'm not anymore... though do you want to see me do it again anyway?' like 💀 JSJSJ if he weren't so demented, i'd almost be inclined to say good for him, y'all LMAO feeling comfortable with your sexuality and perhaps even having a bit of fun with it (though maybe too much in barton's case, because he literally weaponizes it in order to lure in his victims. BUT once again, we don't need to talk about that right now psshhh. i actually fully intend on talking about that in the tags NGL) is more often than not a good thing after all

Mae West in Diamond Lil, which she also wrote, at the Royale Theatre, April 1928. The actor in center, who plays a singing waiter, is Frank Wallace. Diamond Lil, about a racy woman in the 1890s, was West's first major Broadway success, and was the basis for her character Lady Lou in her 1933 film She Done Him Wrong.

Her admirers come back to see her after the show, and for two hours after the final curtain Mae is in the costume of the bad lady of the nineties, wig and corset and tight-fitting gown. The gown is immensely becoming in spite of its grotesqueries. If the evening is warm she’ll take off a couple of outer garments as she laughs over the foibles of the day, adding comments in her husky, Brooklynese drawl, always the Little Queen.

“People want dirt in plays, so I give ‘em dirt. See? They can be dull at home, but in the theatre they want excitement. They want to feel, not think. Know what I mean?” . . . “Love, say, what I could tell you about that! But I would have to take a couple of days off to do the subject justice. Know what I mean?”
