Sinco as a ship are such boring middle aged men together, and I think that's beautiful. When they're together all their ruthlessness and banal violence almost cancels out, almost. Silco and Singed aren't after the same goal, but they're both just on the same wavelength that there's no real argument or manipulation, it's just two men in agreement to spend over a decade of their lives working together.

Almost nothing seems like an argument between them, they're just on the same page. Silco and Singed are completely independent of eachother and it makes their relationship all the more intentional. They're both set in their ways in what they want and who they have to be to get it, but the two have carved a space for each other in their lives.

Singed is so sparing with his empathy, but is willing to extend it to Silco, while Silco is willing to trust Singed with Jinx. Except in the case of their children, there's not much further these men go in forms vulnerability for anyone else but eachother.

hi im trying to keep it professional here but may i request you to talk about your thought process/design inspirations behind your Tango? I don't think I've ever loved a Tango more than i love yours

i'm so glad you like him so much!!! he's definitely one of my favourites to draw :D

most of my mcyt designs follow a similar pipeline, where i create a first design that is simple; based on the skin, my impression, and common fanon ideas. then later down the line i throw all of that out the window and shoot them with my patented Creature Gun.

so originally, tango was just A Guy. (see this post for an idea of how he looked) until i woke up one day and decided that he needed to become an absolute fucking critter.

i went into my very first draft of a new design with a few basic ideas that i wanted to follow:

Generally small, but have his clothing/accessories be big

Have the red glasses be a major design element

Be some form of lil critter with a tail, paws, and big ears

Be as shape as possible (this was the most important aspect to me)

Here was my very first pass with those concepts in mind:

the first thing i realised was that i accidentally inverted the red and black on his outfit, the second thing was that he had come out looking somewhat rodent-like, so i decided to build upon that idea in my second draft, as well as further exaggerating his glasses and proportions:

i liked this much better, but decided he still wasn't shape enough, so after even more stylization, i eventually got to a point where i was happy, and we ended up with the critter of all time!

along the way, i also ended up with a rough idea for what he even was, that being a hybrid of my own made up rodent-adjacent mob that would live in the nether. which i ended up sharing an idea for in this post, thought i'll probably expand further upon the idea in the future.

overall i am insanely happy with how his design turned out, and i'm overjoyed that other people feel the same!

please never hesitate to ask me about my designs/my design process! i have so many thoughts that i'd love to share and a lot of the more fully fleshed out designs have a good amount of concept art that likely won't be seen outside of these sorts of asks.

Ok so right of the bat, tricky Ricky is talking about the wine and how the reason why it's so good is because its been "cultivated in the same lands for decades" and that they "cept the traditions pure". Now I immediately see this as him taking about how to be a made man you need to be full blooded Italian and that everyone else, exept Jean (and possibly the intern) in that room had "kept the tradition pure" by being full blooded Italian.

So Jean saying "I prefer french blends".....

HE IS THE FRENCH BLEND!

ITS A METAPHOR AND ITS SO BAD ASS OF HIM! TO SAY HED RATHER BE HIMSELF THAN LIKE ANY OF THEM!

Had this dream last night

The dream itself doesn't matter but there was a book in that dream

This book… I'm inferring from a lot of small details here, but I believe it was about a teensy borrower witch studying magic from in the walls of this magic academy. Prominent characters are the two friends she meets quite against her will and has to stay around due to some mishap

The borrower is a massive perfectionist, super high-strung, and her friends are:

A noble girl (maybe vampire, don't remember) who's always having her tea parties, strongly believes in rest as a cure for everything, lazy but in an elegant way, annoys the teensy witch to no end but also sews teensy clothes for her

A werewolf girl who's generally quite untidy, does whatever she wants, just wants to have fun, very impulsive, cannot follow a schedule. Is always taking the borrower gal somewhere without asking first, will be quite a task to tame.

because super well-organized and put-together borrower girl having to deal with lazy or disorganized giants is one of my absolute favourites heheeee

The three of them, over the course of a few books (I think I saw 4, but there might've been more) uncover conspiracies at the school (by which I mean the borrower girl mentions conversations she overheard and the other two go "wait wtf something's wrong here"), the borrower girl learns to loosen up a little and gets a little less judgy about the ways other people choose to live, and she helps her friends study (and makes them attend just a few more classes like c'mon guys you can't just miss EVERYTHING this is IMPORTANT how can you actually be able to attend the classes I can only LISTEN TO from inside the goddamn WALLS and just CHOOSE not to attend?!

yeah she definitely has issues

OH also the cover of the second book was her falling backwards into/off of something while shooting purple magic at a monster which, if you look closer, is a rat

so much potential for worldbuilding shenanigans with iterator cities though. the person that is also a place that was full of people and life and culture however weird and semi-artificial - maybe sterile and bland by intent of construction but inevitably influenced by the actual people who lived there

people living in blocks and tall skyscrapers staring out the windows and decorating their balconies. built up haphazard streets of early iterator cities where nobody was really meant to be living there at first; oddball planning choices because such-and-such a council had a decade-long fight with another over the placement of a specific type of building zone because of proximity to some piece of equipment or another, or because some rich influential type wanted to keep their nice view out the windows--

the design of the iterator puppet used like a local mascot - the colors used on the livery of official city business. marketable plushies because of course there were; cute little symbols and drawings to represent the cities themselves - in advertisements; in political cartoons; in official signs and on stamps--

the structure of luna and metropolis like the difference between a half-finished attic and a penthouse, overstuffed historical districts and dying over-capacity public utilities; half-empty miles of late-era bloc housing and shiny new construction projects. mass transit, metro maps and train stations and traffic predictions; streets of temples and meeting-houses; run-down malls and bustling shopping squares; shitty apartments a view of nothing but more buildings until the edge looks out into the sky.

i don't even know. but people lived there, enough to need to build a city like a city, and that had to have meant something.
