Beloved Mine
Fandom: Marvel (Mob Boss AU)
Pairing: Chubby!Bucky x F!Reader
Summary: Sam sends out an SOS that Bucky isn't in the best mood, so you see him to ease his mind.
Sammy: SOS. he's in a bad mood!
You read over Sam's text and snort. You quickly type out a reply and start to change from your pjs to some appropriate clothing.
On your way to Bucky's, you stopped by his favorite bakery, grabbing his favorite baked goods as well as a wide variety for his people. You also grabbed him a coffee and a drink for you as well.
Sammy: He almost shot the new guy in the foot. Please tell me you're on your way.
You: ETA 10 minutes.
Sammy: THANK GOD.
You giggle and continue to drive to Bucky's family mansion. At the gate, the security guard takes one look at you and immediately lets you in. You give him a pastry in gratitude before driving up the long gravel driveway.
You park beside Sam's car and hop out. The man at the door nods at you, opening the door wide for you to step in. You also hand him a pastry with a smile.
You head towards the back of the house where you hear a familiar, loud distant voice.
The closer you get, the louder the voice. You push through some of the men spilling out of the room until you're inside.
"-HOW MANY FUCKING MEN DO I GOTTA LOSE TO-honey?"
All eyes land to you. You give a sheepish wave, "Hi, sorry, is this a bad time?" You know it is but you feign ignorance.
Bucky sighs, running his hand through his brunette locks, "Just finishing up a meeting."
"Oh, I can wait-"
"No, no. It's fine. Think they all had enough of my shouting," he waves his hand, "Leave, you fuckers!" most of the people scurry out in an instant, not wanting to wait and see if Bucky changes his mind. A small group stay behind, Bucky's closest friends and confidants: Sam, Joaquin, Yelena, and Nat.
You approach them, setting yours and Bucky's drinks in front of him. You open the pastry box in your hands and hold it out to the four, "Take your pick!"
"You're Heaven sent!" Sam exclaims as he grabs a donut and shoots you a wink. You give him a smirk and a nod.
Joaquin grabs a danish, practically stuffing the entire thing in his mouth.
"Did you eat today, Joaquin?"
He shakes his head as he continues to chew the danish. You lift the box higher, "Take as much as you want."
He gives you a grin as he grabs two more pastries and follows Sam out the door.
"Ladies?"
"I'm good," Nat says with a shake of her head in decline.
"Hell yeah, donuts!" Yelena exclaims as she grabs the glazed twists. She hums in delight as she takes a bite, "Thanks, Y/N!"
You chuckle, "You're welcome, Lena."
The two women look to Bucky to see if he needed anything else. Bucky sips his coffee and waves them off and the two file out the door, closing it behind them.
You turn back to Bucky, "Yours are at the bottom," you place the pastry box in front of him.
Bucky's eyes narrow at you, a hint of a smirk on his lips, "Who called you?"
"No one called me."
"So if I check your phone-"
"Technically, Sam texted me. He didn't call me."
Bucky scoffs and shakes his head, "Of course he did."
You walk over to the other side of his desk. He leans back in his chair and you sit on his arm rest, "Bad day?" You begin to run your fingers through his hair and he leans into your touch with a sigh, "Another shipment got intercepted. We lost some guys."
"'M sorry, baby."
"I'm getting real fucking tired of Hydra. And none of my people can find shit out! Anytime they snag one of their guys, they kill themselves before we get any answers. Fucking cowards."
You wrap your arms around Bucky's bulking frame, "You'll figure it out. You always do. Besides, I'm sure Lena and Nat have something cooking, right?"
"Supposedly, but they won't tell me what yet. They're trying to iron out the details."
"Just let them handle it in the meantime. Now, how about a treat?" you grab one of the pastries that you know he loves and he takes a bite. He moans at the taste and his shoulders drop in relief.
He washes it down with his coffee and he looks at you with shining blue eyes, "You really know how to make a guy feel loved, honey."
You giggle, and wipe some crumbs off his chubby cheeks, "Well, duh, I do love you," you peck his lips, "Ease up on everyone, will ya? I know things are tense, but they're all doing the best they can. You can't afford to lose more people."
He slowly nods, "You're right. Fuck, you know, maybe you should step down and take over, hm?"
You throw your head back and laugh, "Oh, please, I'd run your family into the ground! No one would listen to me-"
"Baby, a majority of my people listen to you already."
"...I don't know how to lead people or how the inner workings of all this," you gesture around you, "goes."
Bucky shrugs, "I can teach you. Besides," he takes your left hand, thumb grazing over the diamond ring on your finger, "you should start learning some things anyway."
"Let me just live in ignorant bliss until after the wedding, Barnes," you pat his plump cheeks and he grins at you, eyes soft and full of love.

STWG daily prompt 7/12/23 (i'm late to this)
prompt: black eye
pairing/character(s): steddie
this is part 2, read part 1 here
-
"Yeah, I'm here. I got you, sweetheart."
Eddie's words bring about a lopsided smile to Steve's face, and then his eyes drift back to being closed. He doesn't look like he's asleep, but he's definitely not all there. Distantly, Eddie wonders what good shit they've got Steve on for him to not be sobbing in pain at every movement right now. His black eye is.. difficult to look at.
Once again, Eddie wonders what the fuck happened in the past forty eight hours. He turns to Buckley.
"What happened?" He asks, and Robin narrows her eyes and looks ready to attempt to interrogate him again, so he's quick to continue, "I- I know you have questions, but for now can you just accept that I'm here because I care about him?"
He hopes she ignores the way he's still absently rubbing his thumb in a back-and-forth motion over Steve's arm. Hopes that for now she can dismiss the casual intimacy, and not question why Eddie's one of Steve's emergency contacts. Not while Steve lacks the therewithal to make a decision about coming out or not.
Still looking suspicious, she nods once, and casts a glance to the other side of the room, where the two younger kids are sat together. Eddie follows her gaze to see the young girl is asleep, head resting on Dustin's arm, and Dustin has his eyes resolutely on the door, like he's waiting for a monster to burst through it. He doesn't look fully there.
"We were just finishing the closing duties at work and," Robin starts, and then pauses like she's going over the details in her head, "and there was a late shipment we had to put away in the freezers, but then a fire broke out and we got trapped."
Buckley is a lot of things, but a good liar isn't one of them. Even if she was a good liar, Eddie knows things that make that one sound implausible. Steve hasn't been missing for just one night. It's been two nights. What the fuck happened before the fire? And that's not even considering the logistics of Steve's injuries and how they happened.
"Don't bullshit me." Eddie says quietly, looking down at Steve again, "That makes no sense and you know it. Are you seriously telling me a fire give Steve a black eye and a concussion? These kids just happened to be there?"
His words have Robin looking incredibly nervous, and Dustin straightens a little where he's sat, looking to be actively listening for the first time since Eddie entered the room.
"You have to shut up, man. I don't know who you are, but it. Was. Just. A. Fire." Dustin says, eyes determined, but scared.
"I'm Eddie." Eddie pauses, considering a new possibility that frightens him even more than Steve's injuries, "Did you guys.. Did you get threatened? Whoever did this," he gestures at Steve's face, "are they making you stay quiet? I can help you. I know people."
Dustin sighs and goes back to watching the door, the frightened look in his eyes becoming something haunted. Robin bites her lip, and Steve cracks open his good eye to look at Eddie, tears welling up.
"They w're- Eds, you gotta j'st- leave it be." He tells him, and a tear slips out and down his face, no doubt causing the scratches on his face to sting.
"Stevie. Please. Who hurt you?" Eddie whispers, tears blurring his vision now as he truly takes in his boyfriend. He feels helpless, and he can't even provide comfort the way he wants to because it might not be safe. He doesn't know Robin, not truly. And he doesn't know the kids at all.
Steve makes the decision for him, lifting one shaking, weak hand to clumsily wipe away a tear that's escaped.
"'s okay, Teddy. L've you." He says, and Eddie hates himself a bit. Because Steve's trying to comfort him while he's laying in a hospital bed. Eddie raises his hand to cover Steve's where it still rests on his cheek, supporting and holding it there.
"I love you too." He whispers back after a harsh sniffle, and hears Robin beside him making a noise of understanding.
"Oh, you're his- right." She mumbles to herself, shooting Steve a look to which he gives her a slight smile of confirmation. Eddie raises his eyebrows at the implication. Steve had come out to her?
"Yeah. And if you have a problem with it, well. Like I said, I know people." He tells her, putting on his best bitchy smile as he slowly puts Steve's hand back to rest on the bed. He ignores Steve's noise of complaint to keep eye contact with Robin. He hopes he's being intimidating.
"No need for all that. I know Dorothy too." Robin replies, and Eddie just nods. Feels a bit of the fear inside him deflate.
And then Dustin asks a question, and the little girl at his side rouses from her sleep.
"Who the fuck's Dorothy?"
"Mutual friend." Robin answers, tone clipped.
"Okay. I don't know what I've just woken up to. Who's this wannabe-goth nerd?" The little girl asks, voice full of sass as she raises an eyebrow at Eddie.
How she went from dead asleep to awake-enough-to-roast-him in five seconds, Eddie doesn't know. He narrows his eyes at the insult anyway.
"Eddie Munson. Metalhead extraordinaire, for your information. And you? What's an eight year old doing here?"
"Erica Sinclair. And I'm eleven, you long haired freak."
Eddie gapes at her, and distantly hears Steve giggle. For now, cautiously, he thinks that maybe things will be okay. Eventually.

Tastes like strawberries.
Masterlist.
Pairing: chubby baker bucky x mob reader x mob steve.
Summary :your sweet boyfriend bucky is stuck in a tight spot between you and your rival steve rogers.
Warning : 18+ under the cut, minors dni, smut, fluff, oral receiving, anal, kind of cheating.(poly).typos.
"ughh bucky.." you moaned as bucky sucked on your clit, teasing your sensitive nub, "fuck I'm I'm gonna come baby."
Bucky looked up from where he was, still on his knees in the middle of your office as he gave you his wicked smile. "Come for me sugar."
You came on cue, letting out a loud moan as bucky worked on 'eating his favorite dessert '. You leaned further back in your chair, in exhaustion from the fifth time he's made you come using his fingers and mouth.
You see bucky only came here to drop off your favorite red velvet cupcakes,but of course it wasn't free ,you had to pay for it by letting him eat 'his pussy'. You'd told him you only had about an hour before you had to meet steve to discuss about your new shipment. So bucky got straight to work, 'that's more than enough time sugar, think we could beat our record this time?'
And who were you to deny your sweet baker boyfriend his favorite meal. So here you were panting for breath as he was finally done and cleaned you up just in time as steve knocked on your door. "Just a minute rogers. "
You qucikly pressed a kiss to your favorite baker, thanking him for the cupcakes, "of course sugar , meet ya tonight."
You gave his ass a pat as he walked out, but it was not just you who had your eyes on his cake, the one and only steve rogers too was watching watching the sweet baker go.
"Come in steve." Steve entered with a knowing smirk on his face, "that your new toy sweetheart?" He asked sitting down on the big cozy chair.
"Shut up rogers,he's just my delivery boy ,came to give me my favorite cupcakes." You said motioning towards the box , steve eagerly took one and had a bite ,he moaned at he taste of it.
"Mmph it's really good sweetheart, wish i had a sweet delivery boy who came to my office in the middle of the day, to give me sweet cupcakes and a pussyjob, or in my case a blowjob, i bet he'd like that." Steve saw your eyes widening, "oh come on you don't think i'd know that you've been fucking that sweet baker boy from brooklyn, it's my territory after all."
"No it's not yours..and who i fuck is none of your business. " you said pouring yourself and steve each a glass of whiskey.
"Hmm such a shame, I'd love to make him ride my cock while you got yourself off watching us, wouldn't that be a dream, pretty girl." You'd be lying if you said Steve's words didn't turn you on, or make you imagine the scenario vividly in your head , but you can't do this now.
"Keep your dirty hands off of him...let's talk business, that's what you're here for."
"Alright then ." the blonde said downing his whiskey.
You got home after the long day to find bucky on the couch, "welcome home sugar." He stood up to give you a longing kiss. "I ordered us pizza for dinner it'll be here in 10."
"Hmm i don't think i can wait until then , I'm hungry.." you pouted to your six foot boyfriend, hands grabbing his soft belly ,giving it a squeeze.
"Oh maybe i can make you something in the meantime- " his words died down as he saw tou drop to your knees and pulling down his sweatpants, "I'm hungry for your cock daddy." Bucky's mouth formed an o in realizing your words.
"Uh of course you can always have my cock prettygirl." He said blushing.
You got to work right then, making your boyfriend see heaven as he came thrice by the time the pizza arrived.
"I uh I'll go get it." Bucky hasitly pulled up his pants as he went to get the pizza knocking down some things on his way. 'Such a sexy clumsy man' you thought.
"oh and bucky." You said as you were eating rhe pizza, "did steve come to the bakery recently ?"
Bucky almost choked on the drink he was having ,"uh steve? The blonde guy at your office today sugar?" He enquired .
"Yeah that guy."
"Uhm no sugar." He said ,like a liar as he thought about that night, a week ago when the blonde mobster decided to 'visit' his bakery at the time of closing it was almost 9, with no one around.
He somehow convinced bucky into having a drink at his bar, saying he needed to discuss some important things about your safety , and bucky being the good boyfriend he is of course agreed.
Bucky didn't miss the way the blonde's eyes raked all over his body and he'd be lying if he said he didn't check out Steve's spectacular ass in those tight jeans .
Steve told him some bullshit story about the mobsters in newyork ...and went on to flirt with bucky shamelessly.
One thing led to another, and he ended up in Steve's place, sucking his cock like a gold boy.
"Oh fuck ,i knew y/n kept you around for a reason bucky aghh..you're so good keep going pretty boy. " he said as he came in bucky's mouth.
And ended up fucking bucky on his bed all night, making bucky cry in pleasure.
"Oh i know prettt boy, you're tight asshole hasn't been fucked like that in a long time ,has it?" Steve showered him in praises and told him about how much of a good boy bucky is, taking him so well in his tight hole.
Bucky never spoke of that night to anybody, he knew it was wrong getting involved with your rival, he knew how dangerous it was too. But he liked the thrill, and loved how Steve's big cock split him open. He hoped it would be a one time thing that never happened again.
But steve's got other plans.

The third time a pirate entered your shop, you genuinely considered closing up early today.
You level him with a stare despite the man being twice your size. You cut him off before he can get a word out.
“No, I don't have anything that works against people made of rubber.” Crossing your arms over your chest, you gesture to the rest of your wares. “Now, are you going to get anything else? Or should you be on your way?”
He leaves, disgruntled, but without a fight.
A huff escapes your lips. The nerve of these people.
Ever since that outrageous bounty for that new pirate came along, suddenly every pirate and pirate hunter in the East Blue was gearing up to chase after him. All the poisons that were gathering dust in your storage were cleared out within days of those posters showing up.
It was good berry at first, but they got more aggressive, and started demanding more of everything. More doses than you were comfortable handing out. More dangerous poisons that could kill everyone in the room if the seal loosens by even a crack.
You took up this apothecary business because you wanted to help people. It wasn't exactly your dream to become a poison dealer.
The shop bell rings again. Thankfully, this time it's one of your elderly neighbors and not a pirate seeking poison.
The old lady smiles at you, the sides of her eyes crinkling. “You seem to be quite busy these days, dear.”
“If only they were paying customers like you, Ma'am.” You pick up a box of loose tea from the shelf, already knowing her usual order.
She gasps in concern. “Oh my, did they steal from you?”
“Only my time.” You grimace slightly, remembering how many pirates barged in last week.
“Would you like some honey with this? We have fresh jars from today's shipment.” You offer as you tally her order.
The lady hums in agreement. “Yes, I think some honey would be lovely.”
During slow days like these, you like to tinker with new recipes to sell. On a desk at the very back of the shop, obscured by thick curtains, is your beloved workstation.
You review your notes from the previous day. You'll need to get some peppermint for the healing salve you're developing. Taking a small jar of the experimental paste, you test a small amount on your hand.
Indeed, it needs more peppermint. Maybe you should use extract instead of crushed leaves next time, so that the texture is smoother.
The problem arises when your go-to herb supplier says he's run out of peppermint.
“Please tell me you're kidding.” You groan, looking down at your sadly empty whicker basket.
“M’sorry, lass.” The vendor shrugs, not looking very sorry at all. “You just missed the guy who bought everything. I promise I'll get you your peppermint next week, though.”
Resigned, you sigh, reading through the rest of your shopping list. The salve, at least, can wait a week as it's still a work in progress. The rest of your list, however, are crucial ingredients for your usual bestsellers.
“Fancy looking lad. He asked about spices. Told him to go to the shops down by the river.”
Your stomach drops. Everything else you need are sold by those shops.
Mentally cursing that vendor, you run as fast as your feet can take you. You're not letting some tourist get the better of you when it comes to ingredients.
You reach the river in record time. You'd feel proud if you didn't feel winded. Even so, you scan the road for anyone matching the tourist's description.
There doesn't seem to be anyone remotely fancy around. Triumphant, you go on with your shopping.
You begin to feel better as you cross more things off your list. You've almost forgotten about the peppermint incident, if only you didn't suddenly smell so much of it pass by.
A tall blond man walks by, clearly doing a lot of shopping based on the boxes of supplies he's carrying. The scent of peppermint hits you again. In a paper bag, at the very top of the boxes, you spot bunches of those leaves you've been so desperate for.
You can only clench your jaw in frustration and frown at the back of his head. He purchases a large amount of meat and fish in the next stall, and you gather that he must be some sort of chef. No normal person buys so much meat that the shopkeep offers to deliver everything. But that's what happens to this fancy looking lad. He must not be normal then.
“Yes, my ship's in the docks. You can't miss it, thank you so much for your help.” He smiles. His blue eyes wander the stall, then travel to the next stall over, where you are.
There's a moment of surprise when he finds you already looking at him, but his expression changes instantly into a suave one. It almost makes you want to back away, but you stand your ground when he approaches.
“Aren’t you stunning? I was feeling tired, but your pretty face woke me right up.”
You turn away, pointedly ignoring him. He can't flirt with you while smelling like peppermint. It's just not fair.
“Sorry for the hold up, lass. What's it you need?” The shopkeep you were waiting for shows up just in time. You continue to not pay the blond beside you any attention.
“Cinnamon and salt, please.” You respond. “Pink, if you have any.”
“I'll have the same, good sir.” Fancy pants says. “Though, my salt doesn't need to be pink.”
As the shopkeep rummages through his supplies, the blond continues to speak to you. Why does he keep speaking to you?
“Pink salt is lovely to look at, same as you,” He begins, “But other than the color, there really isn't a difference to normal salt, isn't there?”
He shrugs, his broad shoulder shifting his suit jacket slightly. “You're paying extra for the same result. It's all the same when you cook it.”
“I'm not using it for cooking.” Is your only response.
The shopkeep returns before the stranger can reply. “Here's the salt for you's.” He hands you a bag of pink rock salt, and the stranger a bag of regular salt.
The dread from the peppermint vendor returns when you realize the shopkeep is holding only one bag of cinnamon. He pats it and says, “I could split it so you both get half.”
“I was here first.” You insist desperately. “Sell it to me.”
“...My hands are tied here, lad.” The shopkeep sells you the cinnamon, and it's quickly tucked into your basket when you get your hands on it. The stranger doesn't barter for it. Good.
And with that, you cross out cinnamon and salt from your shopping list. You were able to get everything except the peppermint, which stays neat and legible at the very top of the list.
You crumple the paper and toss it into a nearby bin before making your way back to your shop.
“Are you on your way to get some peppermint?” How did the stranger catch up with you so quickly?
“No.” No matter how much you wish you were.
You try to walk faster, but his pace is steady even with a large box under one arm and several others tied up with twine held in his other hand.
“But it was on your list.” He seems to be very interested in your dealings. Is he always this dedicated when he flirts?
You cross the bridge that arches over the river together. The townsfolk who recognize you and not the man next to you begin to whisper amongst themselves.
It takes everything in you to resist rolling your eyes. After a week of pirates, you suspect your shop will be full of gossiping neighbors soon.
“A certain someone bought all the best peppermint today.” Of course the scent of it wafts over you again as you say so.
“Ah.” Understanding dawns on his face. “I see, I'm sorry if that inconvenienced you.”
It was your turn to shrug. You were about to say that it was okay, but then remember that you wouldn't be able to complete your salve until next week.
You pout before you can help it. “Did you really have to buy all of it?”
He breathes out a laugh. “I normally wouldn't, but my friends tend to have endless appetites. It always pays to have plenty of supplies.”
Even in the middle of the bustling street, a certain group of strangers stand out. They're gathered outside the tavern. You don't know any of them, but you recognize one of them as that infamous new pirate with the exorbitant bounty on his head.
“Speaking of my friends...” The blond trails off, nodding towards that particular group.
You just about stop in your tracks. He's with them? He's a pirate?
Okay. A rich, flirtatious tourist you could deal with. A random pirate crew? You would probably still be fine.
But the crew with the highest bounty in all the East Blue? That's just asking for trouble to happen.
While the stranger is distracted by his friends, you slip into an inconspicuous alleyway. You'd have to go a little further around to reach your shop, but that's alright as long as you avoid those Straw Hat pirates.
Luck seems to not be on your side, though. Because fancy pants shows up to your shop later that evening.
He grins. “You didn't tell me crossing that bridge together meant something. I would have talked about something more romantic than peppermint if I knew.”
Of course, word travels fast in a small town. You should have known someone would tell him. And that he would be able to find you easily if he wanted.
“How does the legend go, again?” He asks teasingly. “If two people cross the bridge together on the day they meet... Theirs souls are bound.”
“It's a myth.” You dismiss his charming grin and try to ignore him.
He leans his elbows on the counter that separates you. He's hunched down, but still towers over you somehow.
“It's romantic. And I'm glad it happened to us.” He smiles. “May I at least know the name of the person my soul is now bound to? Mine's Sanji.”
“Well, Sanji. Are you going to buy something?” You ask and avoid giving him your name.
Sanji, surprisingly, nods. He grabs two cans of your special handmade tea and a large jar of honey.
“I'll buy these,” He places the items on the counter. “And give you this.” He holds out several sprigs of peppermint. You blink at him in surprise.
“...Thank you.” You gingerly take it, and carefully set it to the side.
You're silent while you ring up his order. It's when you're taking out a paper bag for him that you finally cave and reveal your name.
The smile that blooms on Sanji's face isn't how you expected it would be. You expected him to look arrogant, to look proud that he was able to sway you like he did other women before.
But he looks at you sweetly, dimples showing and eyes sparkling. You wordlessly hand over the paper bag.
“A pleasure, darling.”
You would have thought that would be the last time you saw Sanji. But, be it luckily or unfortunately, he finds you the next day with the rest of the Straw Hats tagging along.
Only this time, they seem to be on the run.
You hold open the door for the Straw Hats and, one after another, they flood into your shop. Sanji smiles and says something about your hair, but you can't process the words with his friends scattering to hide.
“Sanji, what the fuck?”
“I know, I know, love. I'm sorry we had to reunite like this. We just need to lay low for a bit.” He reassures you, caressing your shoulders as he does.
“I'll make it up to you! I'll cook you a romantic, candlelit dinner.”
You frown at him, unimpressed.
Sanji kisses his teeth and sighs. “I'll give you the rest of the peppermint.”
You perk up instantly. “Deal. You can all hide in my workstation.”
“Hi, I'm Luffy!” Their captain greets you jovially. “That's Zoro,” Luffy points to the swordsman. “Nami,” The woman. “And Usopp.” The one hiding under your counter.
“Of course, you know Sanji already, being soulmates and all.”
You trip on nothing, and Sanji grabs your hand to steady you. You glare. He just smiles.
“Your shop is really cool!” Luffy exclaims, looking at all the trinkets on the shelf.
“Thanks.” You say dryly, pushing the curtain partition aside. You lead them to the back of the shop.
“Make yourselves at home.” You wave a hand towards the couch and some chairs around your desk. They should be fine here as long as they don't need to stay the night.
Through the gaps in the window blinds, flashlights and shadows stream into the room. There seems to be an active search party out for these guys. You suddenly can't believe you agreed to this for peppermint.
Zoro, whose three earrings glint in the light, shifts to scratch at his chest. You spot bandages from the gap in his shirt.
You grab the small jar of salve from your desk and toss it to him. He catches it, but looks from the jar to you and back, confused.
“It's a healing salve I made. It should help soothe your skin.” You explain.
The swordsman still looks unsure, but opens the jar anyway. Zoro sniffs its contents, and tries putting a small amount on his chest.
You beam at him, unable to help feeling proud at how his shoulders visibly relax after using it.
“Thanks.” Zoro says simply.
“No problem.” You nod back, still smiling.
Luffy looks at the jar as if it's a miraculous cure-for-all. “That's amazing.”
“It smells really good, too.” Usopp says, sniffing at the air around Zoro.
“Do you sell that here?” Nami asks.
“I will, once I make more.” You answer. You never realized how uplifting it was to share your work with new people.
Subconsciously, you turn to Sanji. But, why is he frowning? You follow your gaze to find he's looking at the jar in Zoro's hand.
Before you can ask him if anything is wrong, Luffy bursts out excitedly, "You're a doctor! You should join our crew!"
You wince. “No, I'm a chemist.”
“Cool!” Luffy's enthusiasm does not wane. “So you can heal, right?”
You're about to correct him before they assume things out of your pay grade when Usopp claps his hands in realization.
“She's even better than a doctor!” Usopp insists. “She makes the medicine that the doctors give out!”
Just as you were about to interfere with how much they were overestimating your skills, the shop bell rings. You turn to the clock. Shit, you should have locked up twenty minutes ago.
You meet everyone's eyes and they all nod, understanding that they need to be quiet. You switch off the lights in the back room for good measure.
The customer is a pirate you've never seen before. He looks angry, glaring at every possible hiding spot in your shop. Particularly the room you just came from.
You're careful to completely shut the curtain behind you.
“How can I help you, sir?” You put on your best customer service smile. “I was just about to close the shop, but if it's urgent, I'll help you find what you need.”
The pirate grunts. He's not buying what you're selling at all.
“Perhaps some calming tea? You look like a refined gentleman who would enjoy this.” You hold up a can of tea as if that will help you seem less suspicious.
“What's behind the curtain?” He points behind you accusingly.
“My work area, where I make all the fine products you see before you.”
Stomping forward, he seems to have had enough of your stalling. Fine.
Just as he's about to bash his fist down onto your counter, you grab a suspicious looking dark jar. You hold it up threateningly.
“The hell is that?!” The pirate snarls.
“Haven't you heard? I'm the go-to poison dealer in all the East Blue.” You bluff. “A whiff of this, and you'll sink like a rock, my friend.”
He freezes, but glares at you more fiercely. You pretend to twist the lid.
“Y-you'll kill yourself too, then!” He barks back. “Let's see your bullshit poison then.”
“Oh, but that's what makes me so brilliant.” You grin, laying the act on thick. “I'm immune to all the poisons I make.”
Your hand settles ominously on the lid. “Shall we test who survives?”
The pirate scrambles to leave. He's out before you can blink. Without missing a beat, you lock the front door and draw all window blinds down.
You rest your back against the door. Letting out a loud exhale, you almost let yourself slide down to the floor. How long do you have to deal with pirates like that?
Thoughts of yesterday with Sanji at the market fill your thoughts. If only all days could be like that, where the worst of your problems had been a peppermint shortage.
“You guys can come out, now.” You call out to the Straw Hats.
“Uh... Is that really poison?” Usopp asks, staying very far away from the jar.
You laugh, though it comes out airy due to your tiredness. “No, those are just some herbs I left to ferment.”
“How brilliant of you, love.” Sanji is beside you in a few strides. Him and those long legs.
“Was he the one you guys were hiding from?” You ask. The crew members shake their heads.
“No, actually.” Nami says. “We were hiding from a bunch of—”
Your shop explodes.
Sanji is quick to pull you into his arms and shield you from the debris with his own body. For a minute that feels like eternity, you can't hear anything. Your ears are ringing, and dust clouds over all your years of hard work. You sob into Sanji's arms.
“No!” You cry out.
Marines step into the shop, wood planks cracking and glass panels shattering under their feet. There are so many of them. You don't understand. Even if you hid the Straw Hats here, they shouldn't be allowed to destroy private property, right? Right?
“We got a report of illegal poisons in the area.” The leading officer states, his face stoic. “Just our luck that we run into pirates as well.”
You look to the Straw Hats, all of them are positioned to fight, save for Sanji. He's still cradling you protectively.
Taking a shaky deep breath, you lift your hand to rest it on Sanji's arm. He instantly looks down at you, silently asking if you're alright.
You're not yet, and if you're being honest, you'd rather stay in his arms until everything is over. But you nod anyway. Sanji gently lets you go and gets ready to face your new enemies.
“Get them all.”
Chaos breaks, and you run to duck behind a shelf that toppled over. The Straw Hats put up a good fight, but there are just too many Marines. Your eyes find round bottles of herbs scattered around you, and you come up with an idea.
“Guys!” You yell. “Buy me some time!”
“Anything for you, darling.” Sanji winks at you before sending a Marine flying. You gape at his audacity. The rest of them don't even react, but you notice they rotate slightly, surrounding you to keep you from being interrupted.
Grabbing as many of the bottles as you can, you stuff them with shards of wood and more dried leaves. You take rocks from the debris and strike them together.
With a few sparks, the herbs and leaves catch fire. You act fast, throwing the bottles at the Marines.
The bottles shatter, bursting into flames once they hit their mark. The Marines panic and become disoriented, giving the Straw Hats an advantage despite being outnumbered.
Eventually, the Marines run and scatter, leaving only the few bravest of them to fight. The Straw Hats make quick work of them.
When the battle is over, you watch the dust settle over the ruins of your apothecary. It's going to take years to earn enough berry to restore how everything once was. You can't help but feel heartbroken.
Sanji sits down in the rubble next to you, wrapping you in another embrace. You let yourself fall into him.
“We'll help you get everything back. I promise.” He swears, voice slightly muffled into your hair.
“Or, you could come with us! Join our crew!” Nami hits Luffy on the shoulder.
“What? It's true!” Luffy insists. “We need someone like her!”
You pull back from Sanji's embrace to look at him. He doesn't say anything, but something tells you he wishes for you to come with them. The others look at you expectantly as well.
No one speaks to persuade you further. But when you compare this rag-tag team to your ruined apothecary, your answer suddenly feels very clear. If you're to slave away to earn the berry for rebuilding your home, why not spend that time with them?
The back of the shop is less affected, even if the sight is still dreadfully sad. Your notes are thankfully intact, and you're able to find a bag and shove some extra clothes into it. It saddens you that you're so quick to pack up your life, but you'll come back. Someday.
When you return to the others, they're all smiling. Sanji more so, but you should have expected that.
He holds out his hand, and you reach out to take it.
“I change my mind,” You jest. “I'll take that romantic candlelit dinner now.”
Sanji laughs loudly while he guides you to walk over the rubble safely. You catch some of the others laughing too, but they walk a ways ahead you and Sanji.
“Like I said,” He says with his signature grin, “Anything for you, my dear.”
Your mind must be playing tricks on you, because he still smells like peppermint. Now, that's really not fair.

I Can See You
Joel Miller x fem! Reader
Hiya friends, I am back with part 2. This time, it gets juicy (; I'm planning on doing tons of parts to this story, so please give me feedback! I'm not used to writing smut, so this is all new to me.
Warnings: DBF! Joel, age gap-ish (reader is 25, Joel is 39), smut, unprotected p in v, oral (f recieving), fingering, workplace sex, joel being a little bit of a perv, reader not having a filter per usual.
Outline: After an encounter with his boss's daughter that was a bit inappropriate, Joel finds her a bit irresistible and teaches her a lesson in not dressing like a tease at the office.
Word count: 3.7k
PART 1
I was not looking forward to our usual monthly meeting. My father invited all the contractors and office crew to the conference room, where we made sure everyone knew the game plan of the month. I usually gave everyone a heads up on some delays in shipments and new clients.
Which meant I had to stand in front of Joel Miller and my dad and talk about work.
It had been over a week since I went to Joel’s house and “apologized” for almost fucking his brother. Last week he was hardly in the office, and when he was, he wouldn’t say anything but “hi” and “bye”. He was busy, I knew that. But I couldn’t help but stare at him when he was in the office. I wanted to say something to him. But I didn’t know how to catch his attention.
After our talk, where I waltz into his house and he told me he liked to stare at me, I knew we were kind of on the same page. He was hard to read, I was too easy to read. He knew how to press my buttons. And God, did I need him to push all of them.
If he liked to stare like the rest of them, I was going to give him a good reason to stare, I decided.
I found a tight blue dress in the back of my closet and heels that were a bit higher than my usual. It wasn’t a dress I usually wore to work, but I could get away with it if I started the day wearing a sweater.
I usually carpooled with my dad every morning, but he left before I even woke up for some reason. I chalk it up to meeting prep.
So I grab a banana and my car keys and head to the office.
—
I walk to my desk, anticipating everyone’s arrival. I hear my dad on the phone in his office, which meant it was going to be a rough start. If someone was bugging him before his second coffee, he was going to have a rough day.
I was the first desk people would see when they walked in, so I would be the first thing Joel would see, so I needed to be strategic in my welcome.
I start printing out the usual outline for the monthly meeting, glancing up at the door every time it opened. As I was the last page printed, I grabbed my highlighter and started highlighting the most important parts of the meeting. It was routine at this point.
I lean over my desk, my sweater hanging off my shoulders. I hear the door open and I lock eyes with Joel. And behind him, Tommy.
He had wet hair, I could tell he must’ve been in a rush this morning. He wears a blue short sleeve button up and dark wash blue jeans. His boots are filthy from mud, which always tracks through the office.
“Mornin’ Millers,” I say plainly, trying not to make it too obvious I was trying to grab his attention.
“Mornin’,” Joel says groggily, “Everyone here before us?”
I finish my last line of highlighter and stand up straighter to really face him, “Yes sir.”
Tommy doesn’t say anything, just stares at me with wonder in his eyes. Man this guy saw my tits too, I think for a second. The thought makes me cringe a bit.
Tommy doesn’t frequent the office often since he’s not the boss of the work sites. He’s mainly Joel’s little helper. He always attends the meetings, just in case Joel or my dad need him to pick up slack somewhere.
Joel doesn’t say anything, just opens the conference room door. He waves Tommy in, trying to grab his attention away from me. Joel stands against the door, waiting.
“I’ll be in a second,” I say, grabbing all my pens and my phone, “Don’t wait up.”
He rolls his eyes and lets go of the door, letting it slam behind him.
Play it cool.
My dad finally comes out of his office, giving me a confused look as I head to the door.
“What’s the occasion?” He questions, gesturing towards my dress.
“You’re always bitching that I’m not even trying to dress business-y and now here I am, trying, and you-”
“Whatever, hun, just lets get this meeting done. I have a lot of shit to deal with when this is over. Got a long day of meetings downtown.”
I nod, knowingly.
My heels clack against the marbled floor as I waltz into the room of about 8 men.
The thing about being the boss’s daughter is, the men that work for him are never going to blatantly ogle you. They will do it when he’s not looking. So when Dad was setting up his screen on the TV, I watched as the older contractors stared at me up and down. I am not a very self conscious person, but old men just gross me out. These guys were old enough to be my grandfather at this point.
Joel was different. He always kept his head down and looked outside the huge window, unless he had a genuine question. He always stayed later focused at work. No funny business.
Today, I needed his full, undivided attention.
So I slip my sweater off and start handing out the outlines. I get a few confused looks, but I keep my composure.
“Okay gentlemen, good morning,” My dad starts, “We got a lot of shit this week. We have to finish the Locklane Property this Friday. I am having Joel oversee everything is in order there. The check hasn’t fully cleared, so we need everything perfect. It’s a big payday.”
I find my seat next to my dad, right across from Joel and Tommy.
“The last few shipments for the Brier Woods property are delayed by the way,” I purse my lips, “But I can try to make some calls to speed that up. I know we need it done ASAP.”
“Any status on those kitchen sinks you put in for last month?” Joel asks, directing his question at me. I cock my eyebrow, not expecting a question from him so quickly.
“Not yet,” I lean back in my chair, “But when I get in touch with them, you’re the first person I’ll call.”
“Much ‘preciated,” He mumbles, his eyes go back to scanning the outline. My dad starts his normal speech about not staying on the job too long and how he wants to make sure his crews are being treated fairly. This was normally directed to the older contractors, who treated their crews like shit and constantly overworked them.
The meeting is usually about 30 minutes long, so when we finish up final talks, my dad practically races back to his office to grab his car keys and leave for downtown. All the other men mosy out of the room and to their work trucks. I watch Tommy eyeball me from across the room while I clean up some spilled coffee and all the outlines littering the table. I look up at him, giving him a slight nod and wave.
“Have a good day, Tommy,” I say, acknowledging him for the first time since almost fucking him. He smiles, giving me a kurt nod. He walks out of the room with another guy, while Joel hangs around typing on his phone.
Once he notices everyone is gone, he speaks up.
“That a new dress?”
My heart rate picks up. I clutch the papers against my chest, “Not new, just never worn.”
He stands up, putting a tooth pick in his mouth.
“Never wear it again,” He says sternly. I watch him come closer to me, his shoulder lined up next to mine, “Ya’ tease.”
He starts for the door, leaving me as practically a puddle on the floor.
I find my voice, grabbing his wrist to prevent him from walking further, “Only if by the end of the day, you’re the one taking it off.”
I never have seen a man move so fast, turning on his heels to face me. He’s centimeters away, I can smell his aftershave and his shampoo.
“Playin’ a dangerous game there, sweetheart,” He murmurs, “You know better, right?”
I smile, inching closer, “Guess I don’t.”
He doesn’t smile back at the little game I’m trying to play, “I’m comin’ back on my lunch.”
And he leaves.
—-
I was just glad that everyone left at the same time during the day for lunch in the office.
When 12 o’clock hits, everyone in the office bids me farewell for their hour and a half lunch. As one of the assistants opens the front door to leave, she holds the door for, you guessed it, Joel. He strides over to my desk slowly, his eyes never leaving mine.
“Is anyone here?”
I shake my head, “All left on their breaks.”
I stand up, finding my way to the other side of my desk where he stood.
“Why did you come back?” I question, leaning against my desk, moving some of the papers with my butt.
I am so nervous but I am still trying to play it cool. I spent all morning anticipating his arrival that I hardly did my job. I couldn’t make a phone call, I couldn’t answer a single email, I was so in my own head. What was he going to do when he got here?
“I don’t really know,” he licks his lips, “Just know ’m eager to have you alone again.”
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. After all these years of this man practically ignoring my existence, and here he is, eager to be alone?
“Oh really?”
He positions himself in between my legs, wrapping his arms around my waist. His biceps are tight against his shirt when he flexes like this.
“And these fuckin’ dresses you’ve been wearing?” He scans my body like I’m something he wants to eat, “Has me thinking of all the things I should’ve done when I had you with your tits out in your bedroom.”
I laugh, a little too hard, “You mean when Tommy had my tits out?”
He shakes his head, grabbing my face with his hand. His hand is so big and his fingers so long, he takes up a lot of my face.
That stops my laughter.
“Tell me,” He mutters, “Why did you want him so bad?”
He doesn’t release my face, so I just shake my head.
He finally lets me go, his other arm still tightly around me.
“You left me high and dry after tying up my bikini,” I say, my arms finding their way to behind his neck, “And you were too busy with the new neighborhood MILF.”
I slide a bit more off the desk and onto his right leg. My dress is slowly riding up. If I would’ve known this little dress caused such a stir, I would have worn it months ago.
“Oh, so you were jealous?”
I felt a pang of embarrassment. I shake my head, “No, no, I just-”
“You are a terrible liar, sweetheart.”
I press myself into him a bit harder, my underwear finally making contact with his jeans. He looks down at what I’m doing, his head shaking.
“Whatcha doin’ there?”
I smirk, using his grip on me to my advantage. I wrap my legs around his one leg, pressing myself even harder against him.
“Don’t want anyone seeing us,” I whisper into his ear, “We should finish this somewhere else.”
He nods in agreement, knowing exactly where I was going with this. The only two places that have shades on the windows was my dad’s office and the conference room, so I choose the respectable thing and lead him into the conference room. I draw the shades, while he shuts the door and locks it.
I walk over to him, my arms finding his neck again. He purses his lips, “I don’t think you realize how badly I wanted to bend you over this table this mornin’.”
Those same pursed lips, find their way to my exposed neck. I was already wet, but there’s something about someone’s breath on my neck. It went straight to in between my legs.
“You should’ve,” I practically moan, “Right in front of everyone.”
He chuckles darkly, “Right in front of Tommy? Poor guy is down bad for you.”
I pull him away from me for a second, “Do you feel bad doing this?”
He shakes his head, “Fuck no, that guy gets every pussy that comes his way, this one is mine.”
This one is mine.
I was fucking soaked at this point.
“Is it?” Is all I can say, because his tongue is back on my neck and chest. He mindlessly tugs up my dress some more, exposing my panties. He uses one arm to lift me onto the conference table, my bare legs getting chills from the cold table top.
I have been with 3 guys total, and not one of them had ever eaten me out. My first boyfriend was inexperienced and terrified to hurt me. He always told me “we would get around to it” but let’s just say, the relationship ended as quickly as he finished inside me. The other two were one night stands and I was too drunk to remember if they even touched my pussy with anything but their dicks.
So when he gets eye level with my wet stained panties, I get a bit nervous. I clench my legs together a bit.
“You gettin’ shy on me?”
I bite my lip, “No one has ever gone down on me.”
He leans back a bit on his knees, “You’re not a virgin are y-”
“No, no, Joel,” I quickly quip up, “I just never had a guy eat me out before. No guy has even shown initiative so I just let them fuck me.”
He looks flabbergasted, before spreading my legs again with his right hand.
“These boys these days don’t know what the fuck they’re missin’,” He kisses my inner thighs, “Lemme take care of you, girl.”
He kisses my inner thighs, taking his sweet time. Watching him from this angle reminds me of seeing him trying to get those serving plates. He was so handsome, his dark hair falling around his ears.
His lips eventually find my mound, which sends me into a moaning mess. I lean back, resting my elbows on the table. He uses one hand to keep me in my position, all while using the other to pull my panties off.
He looks so focused, so driven and hungry.
“Please,” I whimper, “Please Joel, do something.”
He smirks, “Very eager, little one.”
He licks one long stripe on my slit, my whole body freezes up for a second. He continues, diving deeper into me. He swirls his tongue everywhere. The sounds are pornographic, wet and so fucking hot.
He presses harder down on my stomach, trying to keep me from moving.
He brings his other hand up, his two fingers run through my heat. He releases my stomach for a moment, standing up from his spot on the floor. He then lifts his other hand up to my face.
“Suck ‘em baby, get them nice and wet.”
I grab them with one hand, sticking them into my mouth. I lick and suck them like my life depended on it. Joel’s eyes get darker watching me moan around his fingers. He removes them, those two fingers finding my slit.
“Gonna open you up some,” he mutters, “Not done eating ya.”
He returns to his knees, using his middle and ring finger now. He’s pushing them in skillfully, before pressing his lips onto my mound again. He starts fucking me slowly, his tongue running up and down my hot slit.
He sets a pace, his fingers hooking inside me a bit, pressing me in spots I didn’t even know existed.
“Holy fuck-” I groan, my hands finding his hair, “Don’t stop.”
His mouth finds my clit again, and that’s when I know I’m done for. He’s sucking so good, I can’t even think straight.
Between the sounds and his expertise, I feel that familiar build up I feel when I’m touching myself. It feels hot in my lower stomach. I feel my legs and arms tense up. He feels it too, removing his mouth from me and focusing on using his fingers.
“You gonna cum on my fingers? Go on, cum for me.”
It throws me over the edge, my whole body tenses up. As I do that, his hands leave my tight hole and he starts to rub his entire hand over my clit. The continuous stimulation makes me feel something I’ve never felt before. I watch his jaw tighten as I cum all over him.
“Jesus, fucking Christ, Joel.”
As I’m trying to catch my breath, I notice him undoing his belt.
“I’m not done yet, girl,” He mumbles, “I still have so much I want to do to you.”
He pulls his pants down, keeping his shirt on. But I wanted to see all of him.
“Take your shirt off,” I say, “I want to see you.”
“No time for that,” He groans, letting his dick free from his briefs.
I practically gasp.
He’s fucking huge. Bigger than I’ve ever been with, for sure. I knew he’d be hung, but for God’s sake, was that going to fit in me?
“Don’t worry, little one,” He says, noticing my jarred face, “It’ll fit.”
It’s like he reading my fucking mind.
He finds his way on top of me. I realize all this foreplay, and he still hasn’t kissed me.
“Joel,” I murmur, his face inches from me, “Kiss me.”
I capture his lips before he can respond.
It was a patient kiss, at first. When I try to slip my tongue into his mouth, he starts to get a little more passionate with it. I can taste myself on his tongue, which turns me on more than I thought it would.
I was so lost in the kiss, I didn’t even realize he was starting to run his dick along my entrance. When it touches my clit, I pull away from the kiss with a hiss.
“Gonna ease it in,” He grabs ahold of his shaft, guiding it through my heat before settling right on my entrance.
He pushes forward. I’ve never felt such delicious pressure in my life. I was still sensitive from the first orgasm, that as soon as he continued pressing himself into me, I was a moaning mess.
He grabs my face again, pulling me up to meet his eyes.
“More,” I moan, relaxing a bit so he could fill me up. And fill me up he did.
“Goddamn,” He groans, “So fuckin’ tight.”
Once I adjust for a moment, he removes his hand from my face and lifts my legs up and places them around his hips. I notice I still have my heels on, which only feeds into this workplace fantasy I had imagined before he got here. God this was so dirty.
He starts to move, his hips snapping into mine at a gentle pace. But something comes over me while he grinding into me.
He’s watching himself disappear inside me, taking his time.
“Joel,” I moan, “Fuck me harder.”
He chuckles lowly, “Oh, you ready for that?”
“Pleas-”
He snaps forward, settling into a brutal pace. I couldn’t help but moan out whenever his pelvis rubbed against me for a second. The table was squeaking and moving under us, but Joel just held me in place while pounding into me.
He reaches out, wrapping his hand around my throat.
“Gonna be a good girl for me,” He’s clenching his teeth while he fucks me, like he’s holding back a little, “Aren’t ya?”
“Yes, sir, yes,” I strain out, not even realizing what I’m saying.
“Oh my god, girl,” He’s going even faster, like he’s chasing his own orgasm, “Keep sayin’ that.”
He puts those expert fingers to good use again, reaching between us, and finding my clit. It takes less than a minute for him to get me back to the edge, my body starts shaking involuntarily. I had no control over it.
“Oh my god, please sir!”
I lurch up, wrapping my entire body around him.
“Squeezing me, baby,” He moans, “That’s right baby, cum all over this cock.”
It’s something I’ve never experienced while having sex. The concept of cumming at the same time seemed like something that only happened in porn or my favorite romance novels.
But we did.
We moan in unison, falling over the edge of our highs. He goes to pull out, but I hold him tighter, making him cum right inside me. As soon as we catch our breaths, he let’s go of my upper body slowly.
“I came inside ya,” He mutters, easing himself out of me. It makes me feel so unbelievably empty.
“I’m on birth control,” I explain, in between my gasps, “Wanted you to.”
He starts to pull his pants up, stuffing his softening cock into his briefs and away from my view. When he notices me staring, he stands back, getting a good look of me.
“You look so fucking hot with my cum leaking out of you.”
A sentence I never thought I’d ever hear from Joel Miller.
I smile, finding my footing on the ground, still kind of wobbly from having the life fucked out of me. I shimmy my dress down to cover my ass again. I glance around the room, trying to find my underwear. He knows exactly what I’m looking for, clearing his throat.
I look up at him and see he has my underwear on his pointer finger. He gestures for me to grab them, but I think of an even better idea. I grab them from him and ball them up. I grab his belt loop, pulling him towards me. I slide the panties in his back pocket, all the while giving him a shit eating grin.
“You’re bad news, little one.”

Ask no Question, hear no lie (dp x dc)
"This better be good," Renee started as she slid into the diner booth in front of her best friend. "I had to cancel a date for this."
"Kate?" Charlie said with that placid expression that just begged for a punch. "Or are you two broken up again."
"Charlie if you don’t start talking right now, I’m walking right back out," she warned
"Still broken up then," Charlie said as he nodded sagely.
Renee took a deep breath before releasing it slowly. She would not shoot her best friend, she told herself. No matter how annoying he was. "Just tell me what I’m here for."
Charlie leaned forward and Renee mirrored him unconsciously. "I’ve been investigating some shady arms deals recently."
"Do arm deals even register in Hub City?"
"They do when it’s a new supplier with tech powered by an all-new power source," Charlie said as he started tapping on the table and Renee leaned back to contemplate the information.
"Who’s the new player?" She asked
"I don’t know," he answered, pondering. "But I've heard Leblanc has insisted on a face to face meeting."
"When?" Renee asked.
"Tonight," Charlie said with a smirk. "You up for it, partner?"
She sighed. "A little forewarning would’ve been nice."
"Please," he tilted his head, amused. "I’m sure you packed everything you need for this and more."
"Still," Renee said though they both knew he was right.
A few hours later, they were laying in wait on the rooftop overlaying a dark, grimy alley that smelled vaguely of urine even so high up. They were both in their Question apparel, only the face mask being left off.
"It’s been two hours already," Renee grumbled as she looked through the binoculars she’d brought. "Either your guy is late or the tip was bad."
"One would think you’d be more patient on stakeouts considering," Charlie piped up.
"One would be wrong," Renee answered as she turned to glare at the man who looked as unruffled as ever, the bastard. Then he perked up.
"Shhh," Charlie said and she turned back towards their query.
Out of the shadows were coming a group of men looking armed and mean.
"Leblanc & goons," Charlie said quietly and Renee looked down, as the guys spread out on one side of the Alley. They settled in place for a few minutes before settling down. It was calm again, but there was now a tension in the air.
Then, from the other end of the Alley walked in a lone man dressed in a black suit with a red bolo tie, his gray hair tied in a ponytail.
"Gentlemen," he started affably. "What a pleasure it is to meet you at last."
"Masters," Leblanc answered. "You showed up."
"I’m a man of my word," the newly-dubbed-Masters said with a cold smile. "Am I to assume you are as well?"
"You’ll get your money once I get my shipment," the arms dealer answered.
"You have it," Masters answered glibly.
Leblanc gave him a look and Masters smiled.
The arms dealer took out a phone and talked quietly in it for a few seconds before he snapped it close and turned towards Masters again.
"Would you look at that," Leblanc then said, "you really are a man of your word."
"As I said," the suited salt-and-pepper man deferred as he shrugged.
"Pity for you, I’m not," the arms dealer said with a smile, and Renee tensed but even as the goons raised their guns, Masters only sighed.
"What a shame," he said and then snapped his fingers. "Boys," he barked sharply.
From the ground emerged a handful of giant neon green vultures wearing… were those fez hats?
Renee wasn’t the only one taken aback, as the goons stood gobsmacked for a second, and it was a second too long. As a group, the vultures all dove for the gun-toting goons and in a few seconds it was over.
Masters alone stood in the alley littered with still bodies.
"I hate when my plans fall through," he muttered as he nudged one of the bodies laying on the floor. Then he continued, his voice pitched louder, "Make sure none of them remember about tonight."
One of the vulture straightened. "Will do, Boss."
"And get the ecto-guns back to the mansion," Masters added.
The same vulture did a little salute before turning towards the other birds. "You heard the Boss, get to work!"
All the vultures scattered, with half of them flying off and the other half diving for the downed men, as they dove through them - no, Renee thought, it was more like they dove into them.
There were a few moments of stillness before all the birds flew right back out and then away to rejoin their flock.
"Where have the honest crooks gone," the man bemoaned to himself once he was alone once again, walking out of the alleyway. "This industry has gone to the dogs…"
As he disappeared from view, he was soon too far for Renee to catch his mutters and silence fell again.
After a few minutes, once she was sure they were alone, she turned to Charlie, with slightly wide eyes. "What the hell was that?"
"That," he answered with a gleam in his eyes, "is an excellent question."

;R1999 FORGET ME NOT - "five minutes"
Forget Me Not x Reader. 2.8k words fluff Being in charge of The Walden has its ups and downs - Forget Me Not enjoys being the conductor of an orchestra composed of dying men and women, even if it costs him hours of precious sleep. You make sure to remind him that even the most powerful broker in Chicago deserves a little nap.
this mf has been fighting me for a month or so, it's so hard to write him SLEEPING, HE RLLY DOESNT WANT TO. I HAVE 3 DIFFERENT DRAFTS GRAAAA so here we are. I fought tooth and nail for this, theres 4 different drafts just about FMN getting some fucking sleep. this one even has like, a different version where you fall asleep on his lap instead bc he keeps FIGHTING ME
either way, ty for the request, nonnie! your ask was the perfect excuse to get this done. sorry it ended up being longer than my usual stuff, I just really love the guy
The amount of work needed to maintain an establishment like The Walden often goes unnoticed.
Its elegant ambience and decor, all the powerful and influential people to rub shoulders with, the precise and meticulous organization behind every single detail and decision - all of it can be attributed to a single man, the very same who leads the crowd and makes their drinks.
When the night arrives, he and The Walden come alive.
Hundreds of desperate rats crawl into his den, searching for things they don't deserve: money, fame, fortune, connections, assets. They want to find their place in the world before they're long forgotten, and this is when Forget Me Not steps onto the stage and finds himself in his element, surrounded by all the people who look at him in fear, disgust and awe.
Do they know? That at the end of the world, he holds their fate in the palm of his hand? Him, a simple broker, a middle man.
An inferior, an arcanist.
Of course, the high fades as soon as the sun rears its ugly head over the horizon, his spirits plummet to the ground when the world returns to that monotonous routine. All Forget Me Not can do now is wait.
He would never dream of being so careless as to have his own residence right above his workplace, but he rarely steps into his home in the first place. It's too much trouble to commute back and forth, wasting time in a building that is as devoid of warmth as the blood running through his veins. That private office nestled somewhere within The Walden has become his new safe haven, in fact - with one too many couches to lounge around and no bed in sight.
Not that he sleeps anyway.
Forget Me Not always fancied the most convoluted route into an early grave, and thus has replaced the bottle for something else: endless paperwork.
It's getting harder and harder to conceal the dark bags under his eyes for a semblance of professionalism. How very fitting that, despite all of his efforts and accomplishments, his quality of life continues to deteriorate. What a depressing thought.
The leather of his seat squeaks as he shifts, leaning backwards to fully take in the piles and piles of files atop his desk. His gaze turns to the clock just to confirm what he already knows - it's a little past 6 AM, the cold breeze of the early morning keeping him wide awake. A brand new shipment of materials will arrive in two hours, they will need to be stored but it's an easy enough job for the Disciples. This means that the next important event on his schedule is the meeting at 11 AM. Forget Me Not's face sours right away at the thought, and he reaches for his drink.
And just like that, without any sort of warning, the door to his office is flung open. It's a good thing that despite his awful, awful health, his grip is as steady as ever - not a single drop is spilled. If else, Forget Me Not remains still as a statue, retaining that air of composed aloofness as he raises an inquisitive eyebrow towards the intruder.
It's you, standing perfectly by his door frame. He almost drops the glass once he recognizes your face, but conceals his little slip by settling it back down on his desk.
"Ah, how rare to see you during the day, you're always so busy with errands. To what do I owe this loud, impromptu visit? Keep in mind, I don't start serving drinks until 8 PM."
You don't wait for him to finish, marching towards the small lounge in his office and picking up a small, decorative pillow before dropping backwards onto one of the sofas. A shadow passes over Forget Me Not's eyes - he doesn't know whether to resent you for knowing you have the freedom and privilege to act like this around him, or whether to feel insulted for the way you ignored him just now. He settles for his usual third, secret option - resignation - and makes his way towards you.
Unlike you, Forget Me Not has mastered the art of concealing his presence and so he makes no sound at all when he approaches. He stands right next you, leaning ever so slightly to hover above your face, as if his piercing grey eyes alone could pressure you into speaking.
It doesn't work, at least not right away. You hide behind that useless pillow, then you shift and turn to lay on your side, all while he simply stands in perfect silence. It's a battle of attrition, one he intends to win.
"I slept like shit, okay? Just give me five minutes here and I'll go back to work." Your voice is muffled, but he hears how tired you are anyway.
It's easy to forget that people aren't nocturnal like him, at least not by choice. It's easy to forget about humanity when most of his coworkers are puppets held by strings and ink, mindlessly following orders. When you curl up on the sofa, Forget Me Not remembers just how tired he is and sighs. Soon, he's walking towards the door.
This makes you sit up in a hurry, clearly misinterpreting his actions. "Five minutes, promise! Don't kick me out!"
There's a faint click, it's the lock on the door. Forget Me Not returns to his desk, making sure not to look your way lest his eyes reveal those wretched feelings bubbling in his chest. Did you seriously think he had the nerve to throw you out so carelessly?
"Ten minutes. Make sure not to waste them with chitchat." He can practically sense you silently cheering and getting comfortable in his office. On his couch. It's insufferable, the way you always get what you want while he slaves away with work.
But it's only ten minutes, he can tolerate you for that long.
Three minutes pass, and Forget Me Not realizes that he's spent more time glancing your way than reading the document in front of him.
From his spot, he can only see the top of your head, just a glimpse of your form as you rest your eyes. But every time you move, no matter how subtle, he notices and turns his attention back onto you.
Seven minutes, he only needs to focus for seven minutes. The document in his hand is important: he's negotiating for better materials for his potions at a cheaper cost. This simple deal could mean a lot for Manus Vindictae, always so low on funds, resources and support.
Six minutes. Forget Me Not hears you hum and he slowly turns his head on instinct. You're staring right at him, face resting on the armrest, squishing your cheek against the plush cushions.
"You have four minutes left, are you sure you want to waste them like this?" He lies, as if he wasn't ready to ignore the passage of time to give you a few more extra minutes, expecting you to comply. But you get back at him with a question of your own.
"Did you get any sleep?"
"Three minutes." It comes out as a warning. You ignore it.
"I'm serious! You look awful from here." By now, you're sitting down and he knows that if he doesn't stop you, you'll make your way to him. To invade his personal space, cradle his face in your hands and torture him with your gentle touch. "You're always here when I start my shift and when I finish. Where do you get the time to go home and all of that?"
Forget Me Not would rather swallow his own tongue than to openly admit that he essentially lives here. That he has spare clothes in the drawer by the window, that he showers, eats and sleeps in this office of his. You might've figured it out by now, but with his pride and dignity at stake, he pretends to ignore you in favour of work.
"Hey, c'mon. Don't just go back to work like I'm not even here talking to you!" He does exactly that, picking up a pen to sign a few documents. "Drop that. Drop the pen. Hey!"
You talk to him the same way one would talk to a misbehaving dog, and he hears that whiny, frustrated tone in your voice that he's come to appreciate. There is a pause and Forget Me Not does as told - the pen now resting neatly on the desk.
He finally deigns himself to look at you, returning a small smile.
"Thank you, now, like I was saying-"
Thud!
With his free hand, he stamps a document, never breaking eye contact. The pettiness is always worth it, but this time even more so when he sees that tic in your eye and the way you inhale sharply, absolutely done with him. You sit up, consider laying down again in frustration, then simply cross your arms like a child throwing a tantrum - seeing you get worked up over the smallest of things is always such a treat.
"Fine! Be like that! But don't come running when you- Uwaaah!" A yawn interrupts your words, you barely have time to cover your mouth.
Oh no. It's contagious. He feels that tell-tale tingle in his nose, and just like that, he yawns as well.
"Aha! You are tired, I bet you haven't slept properly in days!" An accusatory finger is now pointed at him, and Forget Me Not fights the impulse to roll his eyes.
"That's quite the leap to make over a simple gesture like that. Your time is up, by the way - please, go back to work."
"I'm telling on you, Forget Me Not. I'm so telling on you."
He gives a raspy laugh at this. "And who will you be telling about my horrible sleeping habits? The waiters? The delivery boy? Our esteemed guests?" The latter would definitely eat up any sort of information about his private life, especially if it was something to ruin his reputation, but he doesn't share this out loud.
"Ahh... So, you admit it, then? Having the worst sleeping schedule known to mankind?" Touché.
Before he can even reply, your mouth opens in a feigned yawn and Forget Me Not seethes when he finds himself imitating you. He seethes even more over the smug smile on your face. And he wishes he could just die on the spot when you scoot over and pat the empty seat next to you. Him? Rest? With you? Absolutely not.
"Ten minutes," a tight knot forms in his throat when you start to coax him in. "I'm sure you can spare that much, since you've been indulging me for this long! If you were actually busy, you would've just sent me home to rest. C'mere, sit."
What is the point in keeping track of time by now? Forget Me Not will be by your side until you decide to leave. Indulging you and your stupid ideas, your well-meaning and annoying habits, your reactions - all of it, they're his favorite vice and he never learned how to quit.
"Five minutes." He sits next to you.
"Fair enough." You scoot closer to him.
He watches when you link your arm with his, not bothering to ask for permission. Typical. Your palm is warm as you rest it over his forearm, fingers drumming idly over the soft fabric of his shirt. But you don't linger for too long, and slide down until your index and middle fingers reach the bare skin of his inner wrist, over the pronounced vein there. Can you feel his pulse? The shameless and frantic beat of his heart?
Forget Me Not is so entranced by this simple action that he fails to notice the sudden extra weight - your head rests on his shoulder, with your cheek pressed against the prominent bone. He knows it's an uncomfortable position, because you shift and nuzzle closer to his chest, the top of your head and your hair now tickling his neck and jawline. The knot in his throat returns and he holds his breath on instinct, like an animal at the verge of being devoured.
Nevermind the constant cycle of violence and doom he's turned his life into, these are the horrors that keep Forget Me Not up at night: your body against his, your displays of affection.
"Your eyes," the soft murmur of your voice pulls him from the awful, nonsensical noise in his mind. You're looking up at him. "You're meant to close them. That's what this whole thing is for. Unless ...you can sleep with your eyes open?"
"Don't be ridiculous. As if such a short amount of time could make me fall asleep." He huffs, a way to conceal just how out of breath he is. Part of him is afraid to close his eyes, knowing that he will feel each and every little thing you do - only tenfold. And what would he do with himself then, when all he can focus on is your finger tracing shapes over his palm? It tickles. It's distracting. It's unbearable.
His hand flinches, just barely, and you interlock your fingers with his in response.
"Hush and close them!" Always so obedient to your commands, Forget Me Not does as told, cursing you in his mind.
He gives you an inch, and you take a mile - the moment his eyes are closed, his body turns rigid but you still coax him backwards, so that he can lean on the backrest of the couch. It takes the coordinated effort of every single muscle in his body not to melt on the spot, to remain in a proper, sitting position. With you nestled so comfortably by his side, Forget Me Not makes the worst mistake in his life: he turns his head towards you, his nose now buried in your hair.
The content and pleased noise that leaves him is something that feels alien, entirely out of character for someone like him. Right away, he feels the tips of ears burning with shame and his body uselessly recoils away from you, trying to revert back into that persona he's created for the world.
It backfires immediately.
"...Hm? Is your arm getting numb? Here, let's switch." You move away, all while your hands cradle his face in order to guide him over to your lap.
It's a painfully slow process that is simultaneously over in the blink of an eye. Forget Me Not doesn't know what's worse, the fact that he didn't put up a fight or the way he feels so incredibly small, being held so lovingly by you.
He's laying on his back, hands resting uselessly over his chest like a corpse in an open casket funeral. If he glances upwards (a difficult thing to do, because you flick his forehead whenever you catch him wide awake) he can see you hoarding all the pillows available within your reach to support you as you lounge about, still hellbent on sleeping in with him.
Did he die at some point throughout the day without noticing? Is this his own personal Hell? Forget Me Not wants to speak, to say anything and regain control of the situation, but nothing comes out. All there is to do is to lay there, with your hands combing through his hair.
His heart might as well burst out of his chest. Even better, crawl up his throat and choke him from inside out.
Without thinking, he sits up. It's a nervous impulse. You can't see his face with his back turned to you and he's grateful for the small moment of privacy, as he steels himself to send you away. Or to fuck off into The Walden and walk around aimlessly to cool off, and then avoid you for a few weeks. Whichever comes first.
"Oh! Want a pillow or something? I kind of just took them all without thinking." He doesn't deserve this sort of contact, this domestic bliss - he doesn't want it either.
"Hey, do you think we could do this more often? Just... make some time for me in that busy schedule of yours?" And why would he? You're already pretty skilled at turning his life upside down with your constant nagging and your antics.
"Sorry for being this sappy so suddenly, it just came to mind...Oh, oh! Wait! While you're at it, mind closing the window, please? It's getting a liiittle cold in here."
Forget Me Not leaves his glasses on the table and lays back down, this time making sure to wrap his arms as tightly as he can around your waist, his face hidden in your stomach. What he receives is a weak chuckle, a weak complaint and a weak attempt at pushing him away. You don't mean it, of course - the same way he never means any of the things he thinks.
"Hm, I believe it's perfect like this."
"You're just saying that because you're going to leech off my own body heat, you little snake."
There's a hint of victory in your voice, you've won once again against him but you're always too nice to rub it in. Instead, you caress the scales on his neck, now on full display for you. It's a heavenly sensation.
"Perhaps," he murmurs, eyes closed. "But what are you going to do? Kick me out of my own office?"
"I might if you don't get some rest. Sleep, now."
And just like that, Forget Me Not unravels - he's been waiting so long to be given permission, for someone to allow him a moment of peace despite all these restraints holding him back.
He knows that the moment wakes up, he will act like none of this happened, that he will stubbornly deny everything until his very last breath, but right now, he clings onto you like his life depends on it.
And he falls asleep with your name on his lips

▻ Chapter 1 from the It’s Always Been You series ◅
"ChEeRs ToO... Y/N!" David drunkenly said, slurring over his words as he raises his glass which he had just gotten in the air. A series of woos and chants of your name just barely rang through your ears over the piercing music. But you were so focused on reaching your new high score for drinking that you didn't realise how drunk you actually were.
You could feel every beat of the music echoing through your head and out of your ears. The sounds of people laughing and talking only was a third of this club's noise. And yet you were spending every penny of your money that your boss gave you before letting you leave for Manhattan. The surprising and shocking raise seemed so useless now.
Who cared about buying food for the next weeks or any gas bills. sure you were going to stay in an apartment from your company but they only gave you two-three weeks to get back on your feet. And unknowningly you were about to spend everything.
But a cold hand shook you from your thinking state. Looking over Ava, your friend was trying to whisper in your ear. Despite her giggling and shaky hand. "I- 'm so happy for you Y/N!" A giggle slipped from out of you, and to everyone else, you two probably looked like two high school girls gossiping. "Thank yooooou!" Her eyes lightly ranked over your skimpy dress, the sparkly material was beautiful against your skin.
The thin straps which were before supporting you fully at the start of the night. One was slowly slipping off your shoulder, and your cleavage was covered up with a puffy jacket as well but was now discarded to the side. But looking back up her eyes met yours, a smile also greeting yours back.
♡ ♡ ♡
(Simon's 3rd POV)
Sitting down Simon leaned far back into the leather booth, the cuffs on his suit rolled up slightly. Exposing his arm hair and very expensive watch, which he looked at briefly. A sigh came from him as he turned his attention to the men in front of him. "Mr, Riley." He hummed his eyes digging into his as he waited to hear this guys propose for the 10th time tonight.
"If you take us not only will you get double... even triple the shipments. But in return, we'll need your full support in all trouble." Simon studies the files in front again, not fully in his mind to accept this guy and instead all he wants to do is leave. Let alone just wanting to be left alone.
"And what would that include?" Simon roughly includes, his eyes flickering over to the bodyguard standing behind him. A feeling of piercing eyes fucking stalking his every move is starting to piss him off. As if he's going to take a gun out and shoot the fuck out of his guy. "Any interference goes to you-" Soap cuts him off, having enough just as much as Simon is.
"How can we trus' ya?" Soap's voice is sharp and fierce, just like his fist punching the table he truly knows how to make someone piss their pants. "Uhm well... I'll have you know we've never gone behind anyone's back. Especially not you, sir." He turns his head towards Soap, a single tear of sweat neatly rolls down his forehead. A smirk just barely seen by Soap through the dark corner of this booth.
Simon can feel Soap turn his head towards him, his eyes meet him before a single nod from Simon ends everything. The guy across sighs loudly, like a gust of air, just left his body or maybe that was his fear. But now he was slightly smiling, neatly sliding the paper over to Simon to sign. The pen from his suit pulled out and clicked yet the sound of writing never came. Only something else caught his attention...?
♡ ♡ ♡
Finishing up in the bathroom you flushed, pushing open the cubicle door only to be startled. "Shit-! You scared me!" Laughing, a hand on your head you jumped when you rounded the corner. Your co-worker stood there, waiting for you. A slightly evil yet funny twisted grin on his face like he was joking but he was planning to do something. Yet all those red flags went right passed you as you stumbled over to the sink. Washing your hands quickly, not noticing how close he had gotten to you until you turned around.
Nearly bumping heads you two stared at each other for a moment, your mind completely ignoring the fact he was in the girls' bathroom. His eyes obviously not meeting yours as he blatantly stared at your breasts. Yet you still had no idea, only the face he was so close his breath could be felt against yours.
"We should go bAcK to the others" Slurring your words you stumbled around him, leaving the room but not before his hand reached out to grab yours. He dragged you along to a more quiet place but you hadn't realised until you both were so far away from the crowd. "Jack wha' are you doing?" He smirked again, having no idea what he was doing but somehow having made up his mind ages ago. You figured he was waiting to talk about something privately but now you realised.
Sure he's always been that co-worker perv in every workplace but you never knew he'd actually go as far as this. He's had his eyes on you from day one and the only reason he came was to probably do this to you. Going so far as to follow you to the bathroom and even more disgusting that he most defiantly planned this out beforehand.
Your train of thought broke when he started to caress your body, carelessly kissing and attacking your neck. Squeezing your hips harder when you tried to push him away, your pleads fell deaf to his ears. "Stop, Y/N." He said firmly, his tone of voice giving you the sign that if you didn't he'd do something. Shaking your head you tried to break away again, the palms of your hands gripped his hair as you shoved him back. Hard.
"Why do you have to be such a-" "A what?" Jack turned around, his hand fell from his hair from where you pulled. And you weakly looked up, your eyes studying the men who had seemingly came from thin air. Jack instantly let his guard not, a slight chuckle broke the tension. "Come on man, we- she was only playing" His hands threw to you, the man's eyes quickly turned to you. Taking in your slightly ruined makeup and intoxicated posture. But your eyes said so much more for someone he only met.
"Get the hell out of here." His rough and dark voice sent shivers down your neck, making every hair stand up. Which was enough for Jack to nod instantly, turning around to grab your arm. Before he was stopped and shoved forcefully, but without turning around he left. Getting the signal if he turned around he may not leave tonight with his face intact.
So he left you, not looking back before he blended in with the crowd. Leaving you alone with the man. "Are you okay?" He asked looking down, yet not meeting your eyes as you nodded, sucking up the flood of tears threatening to escape. "Yeah, yeah. I'm good" But he said nothing, feeling his eyes take in every detail of you. To your face and pupils to your shaking legs and ragged breath. Yet having never meeting you before he gladly handed over his hankerchief.
You looked up scared shitless he was going to pull out a gun, the one you could clearly see sticking out from his suit shirt. His large hand reached into his front pocket, pulling the white handkerchief out before handing it to you. His veiny and massive fingers nearly swallowed your hand whole. And shakily taking it from him you thanked him sweetly and quietly, wiping the tears and stains from your eyes. Just about to hand it back before you noticed...
He was gone.

More nagamob?
When an opportunity is presented to escape "The Den", you take it...Right?
Ao3 Link in Title
Caged Bird
You were in the grand kitchen making a sandwich when what you considered, “the” door, burst open. You had barely enough time to register the locks clicking before it was slamming it into the wall. Expecting your loud semi-friend Papyrus, you were not prepared for who came through instead.
A shorter skeletal Naga dressed in an impressive white satin suit made his way inside with a huff. A sky-blue tail peppered with tiny yellow speckles swished agitatedly behind him as he slipped through. Though, at the sight of you, he paused.
Something in the way he stared made you uneasy. You could tell he was hiding something behind careful neutrality. The sudden expanding of his eyelights didn’t help as his grin twitched into a smirk. Their blue and yellow glowed a little too brightly.
“HOW INTERESTING…”
While you were locked in the stare, a taller Naga sauntered in behind him. Light reflected off the orange iridescent scales, undertones of dark amber shimmering amongst soft honey. Unlike the first, his suit was dark, the jacket draped over a slouched shoulder.
The rising tickle in the back of your mind was going to drive you crazy. It felt wrong… You almost missed the grip placed on the smaller’s shoulder.
“May I be of service gentlemen?”
The blue Naga hummed. Holding up a gloved hand, a large manilla envelope quickly made its way into it. Then, with a flick of his wrist, the dense parcel slid across the counter.
“THIS IS THE MONEY RECOVERED FROM THE STYGIAN INCIDENT. MAKE SURE THIS GETS TO THE DON. I WOULD HATE FOR IT TO GET, LOST.”
He didn’t wait for you to answer, immediately turning to continue out the kitchen doors into the lounge.
Coils shifted.
“You’re that new courier that’s been going around, aren’t you?”
You wanted to sigh but knew better. Before you had been so graciously dragged here, all your new clients had called you that. Even though you had been delivering for the past two years, everyone had still considered you new. It had been rather annoying at times having to deal with those who had little faith in your abilities. It was also getting harder to hide your expressions since coming here.
“Yes sir, unless someone else has started since I last checked.”
He chuckled, eyelights flicking over you. “What has ya hangin' around the Den? Bossman decide ta pull ya under his scales?”
Your smile twitched. “You could say that.”
“How convenient.” You didn’t like the subtle shift you felt between the two of you as he leaned on the shared counter. You couldn’t quite put your finger on what had changed, but something definitely had. At least the tickling sensation started to settle and dissipate. “How about you help a guy out then? Got a… shipment need’n to be brought in from the car but I also got other business I need to get done. Promise I’ll make it worth your while~”
That familiar pit of anxiety stirred in your stomach followed by excitement. He didn’t know it, but simply being allowed outside was more than you could ask for. It was the chance you needed to finally leave this place. It had been quite a bit harder to escape than anticipated. Windows were too heavy, high, or locked. Most doors were also locked, some guarded from the outside. The only open rooms were yours and those with nothing to offer.
This man’s ignorance could very well be your ticket out. It brought a genuine smile to your face.
“Of course. I’d be happy to help.”
“Good.” Giving a nod, He pushed the envelope into your hands with a wink. “It’s all in the car, pretty bird. Don’t disappoint.”
You didn’t need to be told twice. As casually as you could, you grabbed the envelope and abandoned your half-made sandwich. From the corner of your eye, the honeyed Naga watched long enough for you to make your way through the previously locked door.
You were only mildly surprised it led into a mudroom. A large plush rug, a shelf of towels, and a wide U-shaped brush system peppered with lingering scales were only a few of the things found inside. The most important thing, though, was the exit. It was kind enough to lead outside under the cover of a covered archway.
On your right, the driveway passed under the arch into a modest courtyard. On your left was the main drive toward the estate’s gates. Across the way, the access door of a garage enticed you with its open door.
You took a breath.
You could do this. You just needed to hurry before the other house members realized.
Before Don Sans realized...
You were in the garage before you could process anything else, heart pumping. Several Monster-sized vehicles met you, each one surprisingly more nondescript than the last. You prayed you would have luck with keys.
You didn’t know how you would fare driving such a large vehicle, but you only needed to get out of the gate with it. The first opportunity you had, you planned to ditch the thing in case they were tagged. Two cars down, you found what you were looking for.
The engine was still warm, keys in the ignition. Upon further inspection, you took note of a pile of boxes in the back and the lack of “normal” seats and smiled. Your two new friends had really outdone themselves for you.
Then you saw it.
The car had been modified for the use of Monsters. More importantly, Naga, Monsters. There were no pedals of any kind. In their place were hand controls. Very fancy hand controls.
You were going to have to take the time to figure them out.
Time you might not have.
Waving caution to the wind, you threw the envelope on the modified seat and started the ignition. For a brief second, you did a double take when stacks of hundreds broke free but recovered quickly enough to start fiddling with controls.
A push of a lever had the engine revving. Cursing, you frantically pulled back until it stopped. You had to keep yourself from panicking at the noise. All you could do was keep trying and hope no one came to investigate.
Unfortunately, less than five minutes later, a tsk had ice washing over you.
“I AM CURIOUS… WHAT AN INTERESTING CHOICE, BIRDIE. ARE YOU SURE IT WAS THE RIGHT ONE? I DO BELIEVE YOU HAVE TO PULL THE BREAKS BEFORE YOU SHIFT AND ENGAGE.” The Blue and yellow Naga from before leaned casually into the open window next to you, smile ominously bright.
You couldn’t breathe. You were stuck staring into the glow of his lidded eyelights. Your horror only grew when he reached through to pull a lever next to you. It was slow and purposeful. His smile never slipped and his eyelights never left yours. You didn’t know if his uncanny cheerfulness was better or worse than rage.
“HOW ABOUT WE MAKE A DEAL~. I LET YOU TAKE THIS CAR AND ATTEMPT AN ESCAPE, LET YOU SNITCH SANS’ MONEY, AND WHEN YOU ARE INEVITABLY CAUGHT…” His head cocked with a giggle, grin morphing into a sinister smirk. “YOU WORK FOR ME. I’M SURE WE COULD COME UP WITH QUITE THE ARRANGEMENT.”
It was hard to keep the shake out of your hands. He had you in a corner. It wouldn’t take much for him to grab you. He was already far too close. You also doubted the Don would take too kindly to your attempt at escape should you be dragged back inside. This Naga knew this, and he knew you knew it. However, you needed to know more about the type of person he was.
You swallowed. “What if I refuse?”
For just a moment his eyelights shrank and dilated, claws subtly scraping aluminum and plastic.
“YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT CAGED BIRDS…” His voice lowered. “THEY DON’T LIVE THAT LONG OUT OF CAPTIVITY.”
…
You were stuck. Context proved you couldn’t not take the deal. At least if you were able to leave now, you had a semblance of a chance at escape. You only needed to get a few blocks away for you to be able to disappear through the allies and back streets. If you refused, you were as good as dead.
Swallowing, you made up your mind. Tentatively reaching out your hand, you accepted.
He outright beamed. “SO CUTE. SO EASY. I’LL HOLD YOU TO IT, BIRDIE. I LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH YOU~”
The blue of his scales vanished around the other vehicles before you could breathe properly again, but you didn’t allow yourself to relax. Managing to figure out and drive the vehicle to the metal gates, the honeyed Naga winked again as he distracted the guards, motioning you through to your freedom.
…
The first familiar alley you came to, you ditched the car. The Den was behind you and there had been more than enough money in the envelope to give you a plethora of ideas for escape.
It was time to do what you did best.
Disappear…

════════ ⋆Chapter 2⋆ ═════════
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sighing out, being undercover was hard work, it was never ending. You were always on the move with your next target and constantly dressed differently. This time, you were an assistant which, you've had to portray for months now. Least until Laswell's team got enough of what they needed to take action. That's right, you were the guinea pig they threw into a den of lions to chase after. Some times it'd take you a day to win over your target others took months. It was hard, you couldn't know from one day to the next. One slip up and you could have a bullet in your head. Recently your "boss" had moved into his other mansion feeling his enemies getting under his skin. He was growing agitated now, he couldn't for the life of him figure out how his enemies were getting information. Little did he know his "dorogoy" translation for sweetheart was the heart of the betrayal.
He cursed on the phone slamming his fist down on the table obviously not happy that his warehouse was found by Laswell's team. You of course leaked it out, as his personal assistant you had full access to everything. You eyed him seeing the big man look through the window. He spoke Russian through gritted teeth to whoever was on the other end "vam luchshe ispravit' eto seychas! Mne nuzhno, chtoby eta posylka byla otpravlena zavtra! Sdelay eto !" ( You better fix this now ! I need that shipment sent out tomorrow! Make it happen !) Luckily, you were a multilingual, and understood a variety of languages which gave you the upper hand to infiltrate and go uncover.
He slammed the phone onto the table nearly breaking it as you took the chance standing up walking over to him, speaking in a seductive low voice touching his arm "Gluboko vzdokhnite, lyubov' moya, ya uveren, chto zavtra oni sdelayut eto. chto-nibud', chto ya mogu sdelat', chtoby oblegchit' vashi problemy?" (Deep breaths, my love, I'm sure they'll get it done for tomorrow. anything I can do to ease your troubles ?) He seemed to be composing himself shaking his head. "Net. Ne nuzhno volnovat'sya iz-za chego-to podobnogo, moya dorogaya. Pochemu by tebe ne kupit' mne chego-nibud' v toy bulochnoy." (No. Don't need you stressing over something like this my dear. Why don't you go get me some thing at that bakery shop.) Giving a warm smile. "Of course !" You make your way out of his large office grabbing your coat and leaving his large mansion. It was too fancy for your taste, but all his estates were that way and you’ve lived in almost luxury for 7 months so far. You stride out the door, body guards every where as you take a deep breath, it was cold outside as always as you made your way to the bakery.
Once you felt out of sight you pulled out your phone and called Laswell, "I got something." You can hear Laswell sounding ready to log into the computer and record the phone call. You waited until she told you to speak. "Tonight, his men have to make up a new shipment, he's set on getting it out tomorrow to whoever." Laswell then asked "He hasn't told you who though" you huff "No...that's one thing he hasn't opened up to me about. And Laswell...I think he's catching on. You need to get this done now. My neck is on the line" you bit your lip. It was true, you were the only other person present in the room that would share information to the enemies, he's obviously going to figure it out soon. "I know, hang tight. I'll send a team to extract you. We have things to go over anyways, right now he's not our priority. Until then-" you frowned walking a bit making a right, for a while you felt someone was following you "I think I've already been caught on...." You began panting softly speed walking Laswell hearing this "I'm going to be sending two of my guys to your location. Stay alive until then. ETA extraction team be there at best 2 hours" you cursed under your breath speaking through gritted teeth "I may not be alive by then Laswell." She takes a breath from the line "Then guess you fight like hell" you walked yourself into an alley way the two men were definitely behind you as you put Laswell on hold."Excuse me for a moment" , looking at the men smiling "Good morning gentlemen, to what do I owe this encounter?" They both strided towards you but you were faster grabbing one of the man's arms kneeing him in the chest and grabbing his gun shooting his head. The other one reaching for his, drawing it. You use the man's limp body as a shield taking the shots as you aim his gun to the other man shooting him. Just like that, dead. You pick up your phone "Sorry about that Laswell, where do I rendezvous again ?"
A Couple Hours Later
You were in a jet flying back to base where you'd meet Laswell and her new team, for the first time. You've only heard a little bit about the team otherwise you didn't know what to expect. You had changed into your casual attire, it was tight jeans, boots that reached below your knees and a shirt that only one sleeve went over of your shoulders. You wore one sleeve to mask your other arm, your nails manicured and hair hanged down over your shoulder showing your natural hair color. It's been a long time since you've been back in your home turf. It always felt like you were always on the move dressing differently from head to toe.
When you finally landed you stepped down the stairs however you weren't greeted by Laswell, instead you saw 7 men all seeming to wait for your arrival. You then noticed the laptop on the stand with Laswell on the screen as you knew what this meant. Approaching the laptop you look at the screen seeing her serious face before smiling and nodding her head "Glad to see you still kept your head" you mumble softly "Barely, no thanks to you" she smiled slightly "I know you just got back-" you raised your hand "If you expect me to already go back in the field again you must be joking ?" Giving you an apologetic look as a man with a cup hat walked forward holding his vest "Unfortunately we are not lass, Kate says your the best. And quite frankly we need your skills lass." You wanted to scream, you just got home. You've nearly lost your head twice and already you want to be sent out like a guinea pig. Gritting your teeth "And you are ?" Cocking a brow at him almost glaring. "Captain John Price, I lead the team 141." You studied him for a moment scanning at the men behind him. Before looking back at the screen. "Last one, I mean it, I need a break Laswell" nodding her head "I agree" you frown crossing your arm "I'm going to need more assurance than you agreeing with me Kate" the words came out sharp but you couldn't be blamed, you were rightfully to be pissed. "I promise this will be your last one." You studied her, huffing hands on your hips "Alright, who now ?"
Laswell went on to speak with the Captain shifting the camera view for Laswell to see the interaction "Need you to meet whose going to help with this mission. Los Vaqueros, this is their leader; Colonel Alejandro Vargas and his Sergeant Major Rodolfo Parra" you raised a brow before speaking "Los vaqueros eh? México ? que parte ?" Reaching to shake Alejandro hand he was shocked and surprised smiling before responding "Crecí en Las Almas mi amiga, ¿hablas español?" Smiling at his remark "Sí, estudié todos los idiomas para moverme." He laughs softly "Debo decir que estoy impresionada!" You then shake his Sergeant Majors hand nodding your head. Next you were in front of two other men, both wearing UK flags. "Sargent Kyle "Gaz" Garrick and Sargent Johnny Soap McTavish" shaking both their hands Soap seemed a lot more excited to greet you as he spoke with a rough Scottish accent "Nice to meet you lass, you're quite the deal if Laswell hand picked ya" you laugh softly "So I'm told." Next was a person you didn't see before. He blended into the shadows was almost daunting from his size and aura. Laswell spoke "And that is Lieutenant Ghost." You nodded your head as he did the same. Flipping your head in Laswell's direction, "Okay....what do you want me to do"
After the Briefing with Los Vaqueros & 141
You were in your bunker putting on some makeup, was more natural looking and a glue on wig (honestly you hated wearing wigs but was essential to look different) it was blonde of course, they will be of course going back to Russia. You grumbled annoyed you just got back from that place and now you have to go back to find some guy named Gusev. This annoyed you apparently the man was selling illegal weapons and they want to know why. However, you had a feeling they knew more than they shared, it felt like you were out of the loop, just told to get whatever information you can and return. Apparently in two nights, he'll be meeting someone to give some information, a deal so to speak. Whatever was in his briefcase they wanted to know. Your job of course, is to get information out of the man within a night, take the briefcase and bring it to HQ. Sounds almost impossible, but you'll make it happen. This will be different though, you'll be watched over by 141 and Los Vaqueros. You frowned, Los Vaqueros patrolled in Mexico, so why exactly were they involved ? What do they gain from joining 141 ? And why was a team necessary to make 141. All of it confused you. People sell illegal weapons all the time, that's normal but for British,Mexican, and American to work together simply to track down some smuggler, it made you wonder what exactly you'll hear from Gusev that Laswell was withholding. You put in some green eye lenses to look completely different, sometimes you didn't even know who you were. Once ready putting on a dress with heels. Was a tight black dress that hugged around your body with not straps. You walked out of your bunker, the clicking of your heels can be heard through the halls as you made your way to the team.
Captain Price had the laptop up again, obviously talking to Laswell as you made your way closer, everyone else was talking amongst each other. It was the man with the skull balaclava noticing you first, his eyes scanned you from head to toe. You didn't let it bother you though, you were used to having eyes on you. Apparently was enough to make the Scottish man notice with his gaping mouth. You ignored it though approaching the Captain who looked like he was holding stuff for you, he handed you some IDs as Laswell spoke through the screen "You'll be a hooker this time" you raised a brow frowning at her "Really?" Kate laughs a little "Apparently Gusev is known for going to some strip clubs" if you thought your brow were high they went higher "You've got to be joking !" you blinked "I'm afraid not y/n, you'll find what you need in your bags. Ghost and Soap will be inside with you the whole time. With Price, Gaz and the Los Vaqueros guarding the exits and entrances."
You mumbled to yourself "Great....." with that Price spoke up "Alright team, let's move out." He then said a few words to Laswell, which you were able to catch her last words before "Take care of her John " was what you heard before boarding the craft. Finding a spot where the man known as Ghost sat across from you, with of course Soap next to you and Colonel Alejandro. Everyone else sat around. This was going to be a long flight you thought to yourself. Already Soap was asking you a bunch of questions, he seemed almost enamored to finally speak with a women, as you thought Poor guy, he must not go out a lot with women. His voice disrupting your train of thought "Where you from by the way ? You sound American." you nod your head "Spot on, I grew up in Kentucky." His eyes lit up "Country girl ?" You laugh a little covering your mouth "Something like that yes, my parents own property I used to ride horses. Well, kinda still own one but yeah" This really intrigued him, but Alejandro chimed in "Ah, a lass with good taste, no wonder. ¿Eres una vaquera tú mismo?" You smirk at him, he was handsome, he had a nice chisel face and slick hair "Sinceramente, no soy un estilo vaquero, monto al estilo inglés." He nodded his head "Ah, impresionante mi querida, seguro que eres talentosa." smiling from the compliment "gracias" yet this time Ghost caught your attention "How long you've been working undercover ?" The question seemed to surprise everyone as they looked in his direction My god, his presence could be obvious from his size and demeanor yet I forgot he was there. Guess he'd blend in well in the club. "Let's see- give or take maybe....6 years ?" His eyes narrowed in on you almost finding it hard to believe "Awfully young then aren't you ?" Your cheeks were red as you smirked a bit "I am old enough to be in the field, I assure you Lieutenant, I know how to do my job. I've never failed at getting what I want." He huffs "As long as you ain't a burden on my ass. Last thing we need is dead weight" Price looked his way "Ghost, none of that, Laswell and y/n, have worked together for years at the CIA, I trust Kate's judgement therefore I trust her." Price gave you a sympathetic smile "Sorry lass, don't let him intimidate you" you smile back "Not at all sir"
Arrival Somewhere in Russia
Getting off the plane, you were escorted by Ghost and Soap, to take you to a hotel to spend the night. You work at the club (already been given the job after the owner scanned your body from head to toe) Ghost and Soap, got jobs as bodyguards for the club, which the owner seemed delighted because apparently it's known for fights. You're to pretend to be a 21 year old, that gave you an eye roll. Your objective, find the target, seduce him, get the briefcase that contains plans that is needed. Apparently he's supposed to do a trade with someone. Ghost and Soap will stand in proximity to the best of their ability, if it all goes south they'll extract you immediately.
Getting a room card turned out to be more problematic than you thought though, the hotel had only two available rooms, therefore it meant someone would have to share since of course as the concierge said "The room for Mr and Mrs. Jones." You were about to say that must be wrong yet Ghost spoke up "Yeah, that'd be me and my new wife" clearly not trying to make a scene you went along with it. Feeling Ghost lay a hand on your waist. You knew it was for show but his hands were big on your waist, it sent a shiver up your core making you blush deeply. The concierge seemed delighted "Ah newlyweds! Here's your room then." Taking the keys Ghost and you walked side by side, well more like, he pulled you away from the desk with the press of his hand on your hips. Glancing back at Soap, you can see he was pouting about not thinking quick enough to be your fake husband. At the same time, you were somewhat relieved, you felt Ghost would be less obnoxious. And quite frankly less perverted. You hit the elevator button waiting for the doors to slide open as Soap eventually caught up as you all stepped in silently.
Ghost looked at the ceiling of the elevator obviously making sure their was no cameras as he spoke "Johnny, stop pouting" you looked toward Johnny seeing his arms crossed glaring at Ghost "It's not fair LT, besides you didn't even give y/n a chance to decide her husband." You laugh and blush a bit, Ghost looking down at you "Beggers can't be choosers." He says gruffly as you look at him as if he was encouraging you to say something as you look at Johnny who seemed to be fuming "C'mon Johnny, don't be like that. I tell you what- if we survive this mission, next time I need a fake husband I'll ask you" you gave a smirk. He beamed up "Aye, hear that LT, already should be expecting a divorce soon" Ghost snorted, the elevator door dinged as you stepped out walking to the room you'd be staying in. Unlocking it. Wishing Johnny a good night as you and Ghost went into your shared room. It was spacious, rose petals, fragrance smells, soothing lights, just perfect to set the mood...if you were an actual couple.
You look up at Ghost seeing his annoyed stare as he grumbled "Fuckin hell" you laugh softly, holding your stomach as you couldn't help it "Already regretting Lieutenant?" You walk into the room setting down your bag near the bed brushing off the petals. Ghost stood against the wall as you looked at him "You know "husband" if you plan to watch me undress that would ruin the element of surprise." You giggle seeing him become uncomfortable clearing his throat "Don't get any ideas lass, I don't plan on watching" you cock your brow zipping down your dress "Yet you're still staring." He looks immediately away heading into the large bathroom "Hurry up and fuckin change." You giggle seeing him rush into the bathroom shutting the door. You began undressing out of the dress into some shorts and loose shirt. Having to make do, with the dresser and your own mirror to remove your makeup, hair, and lenses. When finished you called out "Alright hubby, you can come out now" you can already hear him grumbling stepping out obviously not thrilled with the new pet name. He was still wearing his mask but in a shirt and sweatpants, cocking your brow at him sightly "You sleep with your mask on too ?" He groans rolling his eyes "You ask a lot of questions" you stand up sitting onto your bed "And yet you dodge every question. You are an unknown book, that I'm dying to read" he snorts "Poetic, don't get your hopes up lovie, best to stay curious and never know."
His eyes lingered on yours then moving down to your shirt, realizing you weren't wearing a bra as he adverted his eyes cursing in his mind. You pulled him out of his mind "Well we should rest. Big day tomorrow. Goodnight hubby" he grunts sitting in the sofa chair, you look at him and scuff "Ghost, there's plenty of room on this god for sake king size bed. Get in now !" Your eyes were sharp, he almost would've taken that as an order with your sharp tone as he grumbled feeling like he'd regret this. Laying on the other side, his back towards you before going to sleep. You lay awake for what seemed like forever unable to close your eyes. You could feel his warm body at the other side of the bed. Hearing his heavy breathing as you lay in silence. You turn to look at his back seeing him breathe. Your curiosity from what's under the mask as you wonder who he was and what he looked like. There was so many questions running through your head you didn't even realize until he spoke "Go to sleep, or I'll knock you out myself" with that you gave a huff but smiling softly, you finally close your eyes and mumble "Shut up..." he gave a low chuckle it surprised you but it made you smile falling into a deep sleep.
The Hitchhiker Lester sinclair x male reader
"Shit Wade it's not gonna move an inch."
The two men stair down at the smoke drifted up from the car.
Wade sighs.
"We're gonna have to walk to get help."
"I'll come with!"
Carly slips her bag over he shoulder and joins hand with her boyfriend. The three climb down the hill they parked on and towards the road. The air is chilly with early morning cold of Louisiana and they huddle together to keep warmth.
"Hey look there's a truck!"
"Oh God there's a smell from it!"
"It's still a ride Carly."
The door of the pickup swings up to revel its driver. He looks up at the the trio at the hill's edge.
"Do ya'll need a ride."
He gave a toothy grin.
"That'd be wonderful thank you!"
Carly and Wade eye each. Unlike the couple their friend is much more expecting of the rednecks of Louisiana. In fact Wade was about to decline.
"What a nice guy."
"Yeah sure."
He turns to Wade confused.
"I'm just saying man you are way too comfortable with rednecks. Those kinda guys turn out to be murderers"
Ignoring wade he enters the truck on the driver's side.
"Where were ya'll heading to?"
"A football game out of state and we got caught up in traffic so we had to camp."
"Well I'm sure glad I found you kids. I'm lester by the way. I clear the roads around here."
"Is that why your truck stinks?"
"Carly!"
He gives her a death glare while Lester shrinks lower in his seat.
"Yeah... sorry about that."
"Don't listen to Carly she's just snobby since she's moving to New York."
Both Wade and Carly go silent after that and Lester keeps up a homey conversation with their friend. Lester can't help but feel a liking towards him.
He can't let Vinny have this one. This one is his.
"Well this is the closest I can get you into the town because of the roads. Just go the right edge and you'll see the gas station."
The two stumbled out and he was about to join when Les grabbed his hand.
"Well I just think that you should be here so you know what part to get cause I got to go get a shipment of them."
His words were rushed desperately trying to get him in the truck.
"Oh, of course."
He slips back into the truck scooting closer to Lester. The two sit in awkard silence for next half an hour till Lester breaks it.
"So um, how'd you get friends like that?"
"Huh?"
"Well I mean you're such a sweet seeming person and they are just....ya know."
"Yeah, I get it. They used to be a lot sweeter but college you know."
He smiles slightly lost in thought.
"Well I think you should look for nicer friends."
They both giggle. Suddenly the trucks seems much smaller and safer.
"What about you Lester? What's life put here like?"
Lester goes over losing his parents, obviously not going through all the details, and then over how life in the town outside of Ambrose was.
"Yeah, not too event full."
"I don't know, I think it sounds nice."
"You do?"
"Yeah, I'd really like to live that way."
Lester suddenly pulls the car to the side of the road.
"Listen, I know this sounds insane but from the moment I saw you I thought you were just the sweetest, handsomest man I ever laid my eyes on and I really took you on this drive cause I wanted to know you btter."
"Really?"
"Really. I'm nit trying to pressure you and I'll take you back to yer friends but I was wondering if you might wanna catch a movie or spend an evening together?"
Lester was shaking from nervous. Why was he even doing this? Of course he would day no to some creep basically kidnapping him.
"Why do we have ro wait till later? Isn't just the two of us right now?"
He pulled himself onto Lester lap brushing up against him.
"Wha..."
Lester's mouth fell open as his face turned a deep red.
"You think I didn't wanna be in the car with you too? I've seen all those sweet stairs you've been giving me since the moment I got in here."
He pulls Lester's face up to his.
"I know what you want."
NSFW part 2 coming out!
-Simon has a T-dick, but it is referred to as a dick
For context: reader is a higher rank than Simon, Simon and you met by Price asking you to help on a mission for 141; it was basically love at first sight. You and Simon got along very well and had quite the amount of similar experiences that bonded you two together. Together you guys got help and grew together, no doubt you made it official. Here you guys have been together for seven years, and out of the seven you guys were married for three
-Let's say Simon was able to use his bone marrow to make sperm (it actually doesn't exist yet but one day though!) and impregnate you. Simon is trans in this, and you both are trying the needle fertilization
SFW HEAD CANONS
Simon brings up children first. Given his trauma, you confirm that if he doesn't in fact want kids you are fine with that. You love him so much; it truly doesn't matter what his decision is.
Simon contemplates/thinks on this for a while, months even
Simon brings up the conversation again and tells you that he would love to have children with you and that it will work out.
Simon and you do research for possibilities on how you could be impregnated
Turns out, there was an experimental trial about turning bone marrow into sperm for fertilization
The trial is for people who can't conceive, people with other issues, same sex couples or couples like you and Simon
You and Simon decided to give the trial a go. You two did all that was asked and needed to do and all you could do now was wait.
A few months go by and on base and a shipment came in and it's for you and Simon, it included syringes, and the proper directions of use.
Simon wanted to wait until you started ovulating to have maximum effect.
That being said you and Simon meticulously planned and kept trying
Months go by and finally you start showing symptoms of pregnancy: morning sickness, fainting spells (on really bad days)
You and Simon haven't noticed because there were several missions that needed to be completed and required a shit ton of paperwork to be done
Some new recruits were gossiping, and it eventually reached Captain Price. Price decides to bring it up with Simon and you.
You and Simon go to the med bay and lo and behold you are pregnant!
Simon is beyond thrilled and excited because now, he can prove he's a better man and not his father's son.
NSFW HEADCANONS
You were induced into labor; that baby did not want to leave
Grueling hours go by and finally the baby is born! (HORRAY!)
The baby is healthy weighing in as a whopping TEN POUNDS AND THREE OUNCES
Simon cries; so in love with you and his beautiful baby
To him nothing is more amazing than this moment
A/N: This is my first time writing stuffs, especially for a fandom, please be kind! Thank You for reading!! (Also, you can choose the gender of the baby!!)
Warnings: if you’ve been reading this far, you know what to expect
"Janey, be careful!" You say, even though she's already on top of the counter. You put a hand on her back to stabilize her, but she wiggles out of your grasp.
"I got it." She says as she reaches up and grabs a bowl once her knees are steady against the counter. She hands it to you and jumps down carelessly, making you flinch with phantom knee pain. She giggles at your reaction as she moves back to the half-made dinner she's helping you with.
"Stressin' me out, homegirl."
"I'm trying to help!" She defends, and you laugh as you hand her the spoon to stir the pasta.
"Well, you can help by stirring this," you pass off the responsibility, and she groans. If you didn't know better, you'd say she was eight going on eighteen with the way she rolls her eyes and grumbles under her breath. It's mostly funny only because you remember being the same way to your mom. "Do you have homework we need to work on tonight?" You ask as you pass behind her to grab some cheese from the fridge. Thank God for smugglers with good connections.
"No, I already did it while I was waiting for you to pick me up." She says with enough sass in her voice for you to give her a look. She raises her eyebrows in a silent challenge, and you laugh.
"I said I was sorry, little judgy pants," you bump her out of the way with your hip so you can grab the boiling pot and carry it over to the strainer. "I had to talk to someone about work, and it took longer than I thought it would."
It's not a total lie. Lee had warned you the next shipment wouldn't come until a little more than a month after your last one. He gave you an update to let you know that smugglers from nearby would be ready to trade by tomorrow. You don't tell her you were also helping Lee move weapons. There's been a void since you killed the top weapons dealer in the QZ. "Somebody's gotta fill it," Lee reasoned as he opened boxes upon boxes of FEDRA-level armory. He doesn't seem to have any qualms about taking over a dead man's position, and you silently question just how real the hit order was. No one besides Fireflies were publicly executed that week, and no one mentioned anything about a grieving brother pushed to madness.
Still, that money allowed you to take a month off to be with Jane. You got to wake her up to a homemade breakfast and walk her to and from school. You got to help her with her homework and sneak up to the roof to look at the stars like you did before QZs and gunfire. You got to feel like an active mother for once in your life. So maybe a little white lie on Lee's end isn't the end of the world? Besides, you got a good amount of ammunition, two new guns, and a switchblade out of his new venture. There are worse things.
Jane eyes you suspiciously at the mention of work but doesn't have time to say anything before the front door opens. You jump a little until your eyes settle over Adam and the excited glint in his eyes. His hair has gotten long in the past month, and it curls delicately over his forehead. Jane yells his name as she runs over to him and hugs him tightly. You can't stop the smile from tugging at your lips at the sight. Despite whatever relationship you two have, he's really great with her.
"Hey! How was your day, Janey girl?" He asks, crouching to her level with one hand behind his back.
"Good! I ate lunch with Lucy!" She says, and he laughs.
"I know. I saw you guys in the lunch room," he says as he glances at you. You nod and pull a third bowl from the cabinet to keep the peace. "Hey, I've got a surprise for you and your mommy."
"Really? What is it?" Jane asks. Adam looks at you again before bringing the hand behind his back into view. Jane squeals and jumps up and down at the small radio in his hand. It's the most excited you've seen her get about anything in a long time. You laugh as you come up behind her and put your hands on her shoulders. "Mommy, it's a radio! We can listen to music again!"
"I see. What do you say to Adam?"
"Thank you!" She says as she throws her arms around him.
"You're welcome, honey." He says, rubbing her back. Over her shoulder, he meets your gaze, and you smile sincerely.
"Thank you." You mouth silently, and he nods.
Once the excitement dies down, the three of you scoop heaps of pasta into your bowls and sit at the table. You only own three dining chairs, but it's probably for the best. If you had an extra one, the space would feel too big. Three feels like a good number. Together, you exchange stories about your day and conversations with others. Jane tells you about the latest playground drama and how she's the fastest writer out of anyone in her class. There's no mention of FEDRA or Infected. Even when yelling rings out in the street, you go silent until it stops, and then it's back to the safety of your dining room.
After everyone is full, you and Jane wash the dishes while Adam helps dry and put them away. It's always the first thing you do after dinner because they'll never get done if you don't wash the dishes immediately. Then, with Jane's help, Adam tunes into a crackly radio station playing a song you recognize. Jane deems the late 90's tune "weird" but dances along nevertheless. She laughs breathlessly when you pick her up and spin around the kitchen with her in your arms. You bounce between doing silly dance moves individually and holding hands as you dance. For ten perfect minutes, the upbeat songs of a lifetime ago echo in your kitchen, and the three of you dance like this is how things were always meant to be.
When a slower song comes on, you scoop Jane up again, and she wraps her legs around your waist so you two can sway together. It's a position you've been in so many times in your shared life. So much so that Jane didn't even question it when you grabbed her. The night of your senior prom, you stayed home with your flu-ridden toddler and slowly danced until she fell asleep in your arms. You'd dance with her at friends' weddings while everyone else danced with their partners. Whenever either of you had a tough day, you'd dance in the kitchen as a gentle reminder that you had each other, no matter what. This is the first time you've gotten to dance to actual music in years. You fight your tears and manage a smile whenever Jane picks her head up from your shoulder to look at you.
"Mommy, Adam doesn't have anyone to dance with." She whispers, and you meet Adam's eyes from where he sits at the kitchen table.
"Do you wanna dance with him?" You whisper back, and she shakes her head. "Do you want me to dance with him?" She nods. You take a deep breath as Jane wiggles out of your arms and walks over to Adam. He looks confused as he stands but still takes her hand whenever she holds it out for him. Then, so politely it hurts, she walks him over to you and slips his hand into yours. He freezes, so you take the lead, sliding your hands over his shoulders until they lock behind his neck. He gently places his hands on your waist and begins moving with you.
"I'm not gonna bite." You mumble, and he grins as he takes a step closer. His body is warm against yours, and he smells like the good soap you smuggle in. It's a comfort to have him so close. Something you've never realized before. Sure, having someone to help deal with your frustrations was comforting, but this is different. Somehow, this feels more intimate than sex. The circles he rubs into your hips don't help you shake the feeling. The song ends with little fanfare, but you linger in his arms until Jane tugs on your arm to dance to Kurt Cobain's sputtering voice.
You stay up dancing until well past Jane's bedtime, and she's all but nodding off in your arms as you carry her to bed. You kiss her temple, carefully lay her in bed, and pull the covers over her body. She stretches and shifts in the new environment, and her eyes blink open. "Can we dance again tomorrow night?" She asks, snuggling into her pillow, and you nod.
"Whatever you want, baby."
"Awesome." She yawns before rolling over and falling asleep. You laugh to yourself as you tuck her in and kiss her head again. Adam is lingering in the kitchen, his hands in his pockets, when you come back out and shut Jane's door quietly. He smiles as you approach him and looks between you and the radio.
"Bought it off some FEDRA officer who said he couldn't get any signal from it anymore. Pretty sure he thought I was gonna sell it for parts." He answers your silent question.
"Why didn't you?" You ask, and he shrugs.
"Felt wrong," he says simply. "Besides, I think kitchen dances are a much better use than scrapping it." You nod in agreement as you kiss him. He's caught off guard for a moment before he kisses you back like you're made of porcelain. His hands find your waist and pull you closer for the sole purpose of being closer to you, and you let him. There's no rush, nowhere to go, no anger. It's just you and the soft press of his lips.
"Thank you," you whisper, leaning your forehead against his.
"For what?" He asks, breathless.
"Making her smile." His Adam's apple bobs at your words, but he doesn't say anything. He just kisses you again. For once, you let him unbutton your shirt, lead the way back to your bed, and take his time. His hands are soft against your skin and draw all the breathiest noises from you. You try not to hide from him like you usually do. You even let him fall asleep next to you once you're done, chests heaving in tandem. It's nice. It's more than a comfort. The fuzzy, warm, confusing feeling in your head scares the shit out of you as you watch him sleep next to you.
He doesn't need to see me— all of me— just yet. Let me live in this a little longer, you think, as the sun rises. You slide out from under his arm seamlessly and begin getting ready in the quietest way possible. You're supposed to meet the smugglers before noon, and the walk is long for both of you. You should leave sooner rather than later. You're fully dressed with your boots and backpack on when your rickety drawer stirs Adam awake. You freeze as he shuffles until his eyes open to you, one hand on your gun and the other on the edge of the bed to keep you balanced.
"Are you going on a run?" He asks, his voice gravelly and thick with sleep. You think about lying about the shipment or telling him Lee needs you for something. You think about not answering at all and just leaving. But then, you remember the lightness in his body as you danced in the kitchen and the way he shivered under your touch.
"It won't take long. I'll be home before Jane even gets out of school."
"We're supposed to go together."
"Adam," you start, but he sits up before you can finish.
"No, this wasn't a part of the deal. You were supposed to tell me about the next drop so we could go together. You said you'd show me." He says, and you sigh. The betrayed look in his eyes presses on a bruise deep in your heart, and you have to look away. You grab your gun and put it back together, hitting the magazine with the palm of your hand.
"The group I'm meeting with doesn't like strangers. If they see you, they could freak out and start shooting," you say. "I'm not going to put you in that position."
"But you're fine with that possibility?” He snaps as you tuck your gun into your waistband.
"Please, just stay here. I can handle them myself."
"No," he stands his ground. "No. I'm not letting you go alone. Do you know how fucking scary it is to watch you walk out that door, not knowing if you're gonna come home? Even before I knew you were smuggling, I was always scared. When you were late last time, I almost went out there looking for your body." You knew he often stayed up to make sure you got home in one piece, but you didn't know he was ready to go out looking for you. He's probably the only other person who would notice if you went missing. You feel like you could choke on your shame.
"I didn't know that."
"Because we don't talk. We fight, and we fuck, and that's it. Last night was the first time I felt..." he trails off, shaking his head. Of the two of you, Adam has always been more in touch with his thoughts and feelings than you have, which makes sense considering most of your day is spent in survival mode. "Last night was the first time I felt like you actually wanted me around." He says, and you take a deep breath. You slide your backpack off your shoulder and perch on the edge of the bed, grabbing his hand.
"Hey, look at me," you urge, squeezing his hand. You only continue when he lifts his head. "I do want you around, okay? Not just for Jane or because it's convenient but because..." You fumble with the words, and Adam scoffs, pulling away.
"You can't even say it."
"I don't care what happens to me," you say suddenly, getting his attention. "I don't want you to go with me because I don't care what happens to me or what I have to do to come home. I'm reckless and dangerous and don't hang out with good people because I'm not a good person. And I'm scared you'll leave the second you realize that and try to take Jane with you." You blame the years of guilt and dishonesty in your veins for the word vomit, but seeing how his face contorts makes you feel like you could actually vomit. You look away, but his hand on your jaw turns you to look at him again. "If you're here while I'm there, that's the best way to keep you safe."
"Who keeps you safe?" he mumbles. "Please, let me help you. Just this one time. Please." You know you're going to lose the argument. You feel it. You can scream and push him away, but you won't win.
"Can you handle a gun?" You ask, and he chuckles.
"Yeah, I can handle a gun."
"I've never seen you carry."
"It's not the most appropriate thing to bring to school." He says, and you take a shaky breath as you stand and walk over to your closet. You spin the combination on the safe until it pops open to reveal rounds of ammo and another handgun. You make sure the safety is flipped before releasing the magazine and pull back the slide to eject the bullet left in the chamber.
"Can you handle something like this?" You ask, holding the grip out for him to grab. He takes it and turns the cold metal over, inspecting all the grooves and indentions with reverence. He nods after a moment, and you nod back. You hand him the magazine and watch him shove it into the gun. "If you're really gonna do this, you listen to me. You don't wander. You don't talk to anyone unless I talk to them first. You don't pull your gun until I pull mine. Even then, you don't shoot until I do. Do you understand?" Your voice sounds like it does when you're talking to Lee. Mechanical, robotic, mean. Adam takes it in stride, only blinking at you.
"I understand." He agrees.
"Let's go, then."
While Adam gets dressed, you go to Mrs. Carmichael's apartment and ask her to take Jane to school. Being retired with no living children frees up her schedule pretty nicely, so she agrees. You give her the same rundown you've given Adam a million times, and she nods along, listening intently. "And just... tell Jane I love her, and I'll pick her up after school." You say.
"Oh, honey, of course. We'll have a great morning! You go on to work." She says, and you smile as Adam steps out of the apartment. You hug Mrs. Carmichael and thank her quickly before leaving the building and walking out to the street. You're silent the whole way to Lee's building, where he gives you the stuff you're trading, and you grab some full magazines from your cache under the floorboards.
"Since when did Golden Boy start coming with you on drops?" Lee whispers as you stuff the bullets in your backpack. You glance over your shoulder to look at an otherwise oblivious Adam and shake your head.
"This is a one-time thing. He twisted my arm."
"C'mon, nobody twists your arm. What do you owe him?"
"Drop it, Lee." You seethe, and he rolls his eyes.
"Fuck you, too." He mumbles as he walks away, but you don't take it personally. You're sure he'll do nothing but sing your praises when you return this afternoon, or that's your hope, at least. After bidding Lee a semi-forced goodbye, you and Adam continue on your way. He stays quiet when you pass through the Areas and under the wall. As you get further and further away from the QZ, Adam will turn around to check the distance like he can't believe he's actually outside the walls. His eyes light up when he sees how nature has taken over the city you once recognized, like this is a field trip.
Meanwhile, your anxiety is off the charts. Every little sound has you reaching for your gun and whipping your head around to identify the source. If this were a normal day, Adam might make fun of you for being so jumpy. "Lighten up a little," he'd probably say. "We've made it this far." But he doesn't say anything. He watches you work and listens when you warn him of falling into craters or teach him how to avoid Infected. Overall, you have to give him props for actually following your instructions, and you make it to the old Shell station in record time.
"Do you trust these people?" Adam asks as you lean against the crumbling wall of the gas station and wipe sweat from your brow.
"Trust is a big word for people like this," you say as he settles next to you. "But, yeah. For the most part, they're honest people who're just trying to feed their families."
"How many groups of smugglers are there?"
"Probably hundreds. I deal with five or six from different QZs to get what I need. Some are small, like Lee and I, and others are a huge network of people. It's hard to know just how many are out there."
"And how long have you been smuggling?" He finally asks, and you take a deep breath as you kick at a rock under your foot.
"Since we moved into the apartment. I tried doing the shitty FEDRA jobs for a while, but it just wasn't enough money. I was desperate, and there was a need for people willing to go over the wall, so it just made sense. Lee found me about a year into my smuggling and took me in. Helped me actually turn a profit and get Jane some new clothes or better food. I owe him a lot." You say, remembering how you went hungry for days so Jane could eat. They say a hungry dog is the most dangerous, and you're living proof.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asks, his voice soft and sympathetic like he would done anything to change the past if he could. You shake your head and pick at your cuticles.
"Cause I didn't want to look weak. I'd spent the last five years keeping our heads above water and keeping her safe, and then... it was all ripped away. I didn't ask for help when I was sixteen, and I sure as shit wasn't gonna start at twenty-one."
"Someone should've been there to help you," he says. "Matt should've stayed."
"I don't know. I think we turned out alright." You shrug off his sincerity and push off the wall to walk a little way out, leaving him and the conversation by the wall. You don't want to talk about Matt. Not to him. Not ever and never more than you have to to answer Jane's questions about the amorphous blob that is her father. "Where are they?" You ask, mostly to yourself, as you look around in either direction. Adam comes up next to you with either a question or an apology on his lips, but the sound of footsteps jerks you away from him.
"Help me, please." A man clutching his bloody stomach steps into your path, and you pull your gun and point it at him. Adam stops and looks between you and the stranger, uneasiness passing over him.
"Stay where you are," you order. The man takes another step, and you cock your gun. "Don't make me repeat myself," Adam mumbles your name, but you shake your head.
"Please. I'm hurt."
"What happened?" Adam asks, and you give him a look. "How can we help?" A twig snaps behind you, and you whip around to see five other men surrounding you and Adam. Raiders. There's little to no coverage besides collapsed walls and stray cars. You really hope Adam wasn't lying about his ability to handle a weapon. You fire first, a bullet easily ripping through the distraction's head, before grabbing Adam and diving to hide behind a car. Gunfire rings in your ears as you try to assess where the shots are coming from. You aim under the car and take out two pairs of feet, taking the lethal shot when they collapse to the ground.
Three left, you think.Three is manageable. You glance over at Adam in time to see one of the raiders gunning for him with a knife. "Duck!" You shout as you raise your gun and fire the shot. Adam barely moves out of the way in time, and you hit the guy's shoulder. Before you can fire the next shot, a pair of arms wraps around you and pulls you from behind the car. You kick and scream as you watch the guy you shot and another raider grab Adam.
You're not exactly sure what happens next. You know some punches landed on your face, and pain travels through your body. You hear Adam yell for you. You feel someone just barely press a knife into your skin. The rest is a mess of blood and gunshots and ringing in your ears. You think— no, you know— you killed the last three men. The blood on your clothes and staining your hands is enough of a sign. When your eyes land on Adam again, there's blood pouring from the side of his head, but he's upright. He's alive. He rushes toward you, and you have to fight the twitch of your hands from pointing your gun at him. He says something you can't hear, but before you can ask for confirmation, he grabs your hand and runs back towards the QZ.
He doesn't look back at the bodies you left in your wake, but you do. You have to know you're still here, and they aren't. You have to know you won.
The bathroom is quiet as he leans against the sink, struggling to keep himself upright as you dab blood from the cut on his head. Now that the adrenaline has worn off, everything hurts, and your vision blurs in the corners. He groans and winces as you reach for the antiseptic. "I know, I know. I'm sorry." You whisper.
"Just finish it." He says through gritted teeth, and you nod. You pour the clear liquid over his cut and cover it with the rag, keeping him from moving away from you. He curses loudly and shakes under your touch, but after a minute or two, his breathing evens out, and you lift the rag again.
It doesn't need stitches. It'll probably heal over into a scab more than anything else. You don't know if it's a result of the fight or your bullet grazing his head. You don't want to ask. You silently clean his blood and press bandages to the inflamed skin to encourage the wound to close. Worst case scenario, he has a scar no one else knows about but you. It wouldn't be the first.
Once you're done, you carefully push him out of the way so you can wash your hands, and you have to look away as the red spins around the drain before disappearing completely. You scrub at your skin until it's raw and clean. Jane still has another hour left of school. She doesn't need to see the blood on your hands. Adam is the one to turn off the sink and hand you a dry rag to distract you.
"Are you okay?" You ask quietly, hoping he'll avoid the subject of your frenzied hand washing, and he gives you a look.
"I should be asking you that. You got knocked around more than I did." He says, reaching out to push your hair out of your face to get a better look at your black eye. His hand lingers on your jaw, much too gentle fingers swiping over your skin. Slowly like he's giving you time to pull away, he kisses the bruised skin around your eye. It's too soft, too sweet, too perfect.
"You don't have to stay," you blurt out. "I got you into this mess. I can clean myself up."
"I made you take me."
"But I pulled the gun first. I started the fight."
"You also protected me."
"Stop trying to make me the good guy here, Adam," you snap. "This is what I do every fucking day. I killed those guys without blinking, and the next time something like this happens, I'll kill them again because I have a kid at home. And guess what? I'm never even home on time to see her. I'm not a good person." Despite the anger rising in your chest, Adam doesn't flinch. Instead, he takes the towel from your hands and turns the tap to cold, soaking the rag. He presses it under your eye, soothing the swelling heat of your skin.
"I don't think you're a bad person." He whispers, and you scoff.
"How?"
"What?"
"How can you think that?" You challenge. He takes a big breath and puts the rag down, his eyes scanning your face.
"Because you could've left me to die. Because you could've killed me the first time we kissed, and I wouldn't have blamed you. Because even after years, you still refuse to shit-talk Matt in front of Jane because you don't want her to think you hate him even though you do. Because I've seen you read your daughter bedtime stories and dance with her in the kitchen. Because only good people could create such an amazing human," he says. "And because I know you. I know you on your good days and especially on your bad days. And even when you slam the door in my face and try to make me disappear, I still come back because you are one of the most extraordinary people I've ever met." He's so gentle and patient, and you are so fucking mean to him.
"I'm not afraid of you." He says, and tears cloud your vision. You stare down at your blood-stained shoes and swallow around the lump in your throat. I am, you think. I'm afraid of me.
"Thank you," you say instead, feigning a smile. He doesn't look like he believes it, but he doesn't say anything. He just pulls you into a big hug and does his best to shield you from your own thoughts. He's warm and sturdy and real. More real than the images floating around in your head and more real than the stinging feeling in your hands. It's nice. "Thank you." You repeat, and Adam nods, believing you a little more than he did the first time. He kisses your hairline, and you feel his lungs expand with a breath.
"We need to be more honest with each other if we're gonna keep doing… whatever it is we're doing," he whispers into your hair. "No more secrets."
"I'd like that," you mumble. "But it's gonna take me some time. I can't... I can't change overnight."
"That's okay. I'll wait." He says, making a piece of you want to collapse into him and cry. You don't. You keep yourself upright and count his heartbeats as his words echo in your mind.
For the first time, you let yourself think about more days wrapped in his arms, protected from your internal war. You imagine nights spent dancing with Jane and kisses that you don't have to hide and mornings where you don't kick him out of bed. You imagine a future. A dangerous, perfect future with him and Jane. If you fight hard enough, you can make it happen, right? You can be enough to keep them alive. You could do it.
You could stay alive for them.
Whumptober 13: Multiple Whumpees
A continuation of day 7
<><><><><><><><><><>
The other man nodded and picked up his backpack from the ground, groaning a little as it had gotten a bit of blood spatter on it. Cell raised an eyebrow and kicked the crumpled body of the Fed out of their way.
“Something the matter?” He asked, scanning the aisle for anything himself or his camp could use.
“I liked this backpack- I’m never getting this out of it now,”
“It’s a miracle it’s as clean as it is already. You won’t even see it behind the dust once we get outside,” Cell threw a can at the man, who caught it with ease. He tossed another at him, trying not to marvel as he caught it perfectly yet again.
“What are you doing?”
“Don’t worry about it- Wait there” He turned and walked a few aisles down, leaving the now very confused stranger to stand where he’d been found initially. After a second, another can came flying at him, which he caught perfectly yet again.
“I see, I see, funny game- Can you stop throwing things at me now?”
“Sim, sorry- That’s good, though. It’s useful, man” Cellbit clapped him on the back, bringing out a slight wince from the other, though he hadn’t hit him hard. “The other’s will be happy to have you…?”
“Roier” He smiled and stuck out a hand for Cell to shake, which he did.
“Cellbit. Come on, fill your bag and I’ll take you to the others” He stood up a bit more and offered him a little smile as he picked up a few more cans of food, tossing them into his own bag.
Roier nodded and wasted no time in listening to Cellbit. It was honestly quite the miracle he’d made it this far already, given that he was alone. Most raiders would find a loner with a bag of supplies and kill them for sport, but this guy had that odd knack about him. Almost like spidey-senses, Cellbit thought. Cute.
With their bags sufficiently stuffed, they joined each other once more at the busted entrance of the small store. Roier looked at the shattered glass, then at Cellbit before locking eyes with him and pulling the door to the side. Cell flushed a little and let out an oh as he realized he hadn’t needed to break the door at all. Oh well, Roier knew he was strong, the smarts could come later.
A few members of the group had regathered around the car. One had sustained a nasty cut and was arguing with his boyfriend as he patched him up, and the other was quietly watching a small rodent skitter around across the street. Cellbit smiled and gave them a wave, though none paid him too much attention.
“Roier, that’s Mariana and Slime. No, they don’t stop arguing- This is quiet for them. And that’s Felps, he’s cool.” Cell pointed to each person in turn. The man dubbed Slime looked up from the hand that was being bandaged and waved with his good one.
“No, no, I know Mariana! Ay!” He broke free from Cellbit’s side and went over to Mariana’s to catch up. Cellbit smiled over at the two and went to sit next to Felps.
The two conversed for a moment before a cloud of dust rumbled over the desert, flying towards them. In front of it was the unmistakable white van of a new shipment of Feds. Cellbit didn’t think he’d ever wrap his head around why they kept sending more people out if he just kept killing them, but a full group of them was much harder to take care of than one or two at a time.
Someone in the group swore as they spotted the van. Each one was the same: Much like those sickening suits, the vehicles were always stark white against the red dust that everything else was coated with. Cellbit pulled his goggles back down over his eyes and popped open the trunk of the car to find a more solid weapon than the pocket knives he had on hand. He found the pipe that Mike often kept with him and decided that it would do the job just fine as long as he wasn’t using it.
Mariana finished bandaging up Charlie fast and both stopped arguing long enough to find their own weapons as well. The Federation Van pulled up beside them and the first of what most in the party knew to be several stepped out. The Federation had gotten lazy with this batch, it seemed. Instead of the clean and smoothed-out white faces of the usual feds, these ones still had remnants of eyes or teeth sticking to their skin. The one that stepped out almost had a full mouth, though it lacked any sort of lips. The skin around its mouth curled back into that signature smile behind its sharp teeth. Cellbit couldn’t wait to bash each tooth from its stupid, round skull.
This fed choked as it presumably tried to speak, its mouth being too destroyed to actually form words. Well, that and Mariana interrupted it with a sharp blow to the head. The doors of the van all popped open near-simultaneously as even more amalgams hopped out. Cellbit swore and swung the metal rod at one as it started towards himself and Felps. It hit the ground quickly but shifted and began to stand itself back up. He swung again, even harder this time. It stayed down slightly longer.
Roier hucked a can at a Fed, clocking it right in the temple as Slime dug his knife into another one. A gunshot rang out, but Cell swung again at the Fed on the ground. This time, it stayed dead. He rushed over to Felps as he realized he’d had another Fed on him, too. Cellbit swung at it a few times and it died, too.
Finally, the fighting stopped and the dusty air was mixed with everyone’s heavy breaths. Someone was crying, but Cell’s ears still hurt from the gunshot. It seemed as though everything around him moved a thousand times slower than it should have as he looked down and his friend, who was clutching his stomach and crying into the dirt. Cellbit rushed over to him along with the rest of the group before frantically asking what was wrong.
“I- Agh- I’m hit,” Felps’ face contorted into one of pain as Cellbit rolled him onto his back.
“Move your hands, I’m going to take care of this-” He quickly pulled his knife from his pocket and cut open Felps’ shirt as Mariana took his cue to go and get their medical bag. He dropped it at Cellbit’s side and it seemed as though everybody was holding their breath. “This is going to hurt, a lot-” He warned.
Felps’ scream was guttural. Roier had to look away as Cellbit extracted the bullet from his abdomen, but Slime and Mariana seemed more used to it. Cell got up after a moment, propping up a now-unconscious Felps enough for Mariana to jump in and bandage him up. He would probably make it, as whichever Fed had shot him had pretty shit aim. That didn’t make the whole ordeal any better, as it meant Felps would certainly be down and out for a bit.
Roier jumped in to help load Felps into the car as he came to. Cell helped his take off his mask to get more air, even if it might be mostly dust still. Slime and Mariana loaded their things into the car, and then all that was left to do was to wait for the rest of their group.
And wait they did. It was close to another hour before Mike and Pac returned, and Mike had slung Pac over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes. Apparently he’d fainted and Mike had to nurse him back to health, too. Lovely.
Cellbit was left to search the corpses littered around the vehicles for the keys to the van. It wasn’t often they were able to steal another car, but it was the least he could do for bringing home another mouth to feed. He ended up taking Roier and Felps, leaving the two pairs in the smaller vehicle for their trip back to the camp.
Mr. American Pie - A Mafia 3 Fanfiction (Part 2)
Note: long time no post, I suck at this so I tried doing more effort this time ughh.
Life with Donovan was perfect, we managed to get a new house in the suburbs, we managed to balance crime and a normal life. I was a co-leader of the Southeast Asian-American Triads. Consisting of mostly Vietnamese and Filipino immigrants who look for money, power and refuge from the War in Vietnam or the racist American society who looks down on them. But as my main job, I work as a manager at the shitty airport where I always need to rid the runway of gators. I thought being able to manage the airport was a good decision since it is Southeast Asian-American turf. As of Donovan, he still is Lincoln's advisor.
It was a summer sunday afternoon and it was absolutely burning. I decided I would stay in my skivies to cool myself down. While I was making some iced tea in the kitchen. I heard the doorbell ring. I picked up my gun but the person at the doorbell started to ring it impatiently.
"im coming wait right there!"
I ran towards the door and opened the door halfway while hiding my gun. I loomed to see who was outside and there stood a woman.
"Uhm, isn't Mr. Donovan supposed to live here?"
She asked.
"Yeah, why do you ask?"
"Im an old friend of his, Im Jackie, Jackie Grimaldi."
"Oh, I think hes told me about you."
"Can I come inside?"
"yeah, come in."
I lead her to the living room.
"are you (your name)?"
She asked while I brought Iced tea to the living room.
"Why are you asking?"
"Youre from Sinclair Parish RightYou killed an entire bunch of klan members because they killed your Filipino-American family and neighbors?"
"oh that's me! Where did you get that info?"
"I remember you! You we're also close to Mr. Clay!"
Donovan finally arrived. They had a short chat about reminiscing about the past back in Vietnam.
I went back to the kitchen and looked at the calendar, it reminded me of the years I've spent with Donovan, and I realised we can't get married no matter what we do. We don't know any priests that could elope us. We only know Father James, (who ignores us unless hes about to say negative remarks to start a fight with Donovan or Lincoln after church)
I realise its time for me to go to work.
"Donnie! I'm heading out for work!"
"Have a good day at work!"
He yells back as i walk out the door.
I got to my new car, It was an AMC Pacer, not the quickest but at least, it isn't too flashy.
I turn the key and the engine comes on. I tune the radio to WNBX and it plays "Barracuda" by Heart. I went on my way to the airport and started my job. I was in my office when the phone rang.
"It's me, Lincoln. Make sure cops aren't settin foot on that runway, we got a shipment of stolen cars from Japan coming in!"
"sure thing buddy!"
I walked towards the runway and conversed with a Japanese man.
"Hello sir, please to meet you!"
I yelled and bowed as the jet engines roared around us.
"Kuray-San (Clay-San) has started operations with the Yakuza! But we need your help removing the communist gangs from here!"
"The bratva if im right?"
I asked
"Yes mister, we, the Yakuza need your help to get the Russians out of the picture, they always steal our products! And they seem to dislike Mr Clay San's work!"
"understood! I'll notify him immediately!"
I said as the Yakuza members got into his Toyota limousine and was escorted by a bunch of Datsun Z's and other JDM sport cars. I decided to drive to the bar and tell Lincoln about it.
I parked by the backdoor. I walked to the backdoor panting and in a hurry. I knocked 3 times. I anxiously waited for Lincoln to open the door. The door burst open.
"Hey there! Whats the rush?"
"We need a meeting at the plantations!"
I quickly replied.
We all arranged a sit down with 5 other bosses, Burke, Vito, Cassandra, and two new underbosses. Sister Ling who is in the Chinese Triads, and Rafael Guzman, from the Colombian cartel.
"Ok guys, listen up! Donovan will present new enemy for the Clay Crime family and for all of you!"
Donovan used a corkboard for is presentation.
"basically, these Ruskies want half of all our business, but ever since Lincoln didn't agree with the deal, they started disrupting rackets and trade with the other international gangs. We need to show these fucking communists thay we dont give a shit, and they can go fuck themselves go back to Mother Russia!"
"all right!!"
I said and the other underbosses started hooting and laughing.
