something about how trades really do affect players. how it's not just us as fans being crazy or reading too much into it. it's real and it's painful. erik johnson has lacked the hutzpah he once had ever since leaving colorado, as if he could bear landeskog's injury but the second he was forced to leave it all came crashing down. sidney crosby has lost much of the joy he once carried and it's because he had the human, golden embodiment of that joy in jake guentzel torn away from him when he needed it most. dylan larkin shed genuine, heartfelt, distraught tears when tyler bertuzzi was traded away. the penguins still welcome marc-andre fleury to pittsburgh every time he plays there because, no matter where he is, that is his home. pk subban could never return to the same player he was after he was taken from price. trevor zegras is seemingly incomplete without drysdale at his side. brandon duhaime is lacking his connor dewar. bowen byram no longer has his alex newhook to lean on and laugh with. travis koneckny and nolan patrick may never even get the chance to play another game with or against one another. and who could imagine kuznetsov as anyone but a capital? do you really think of pavelski in the green of the stars or do you see him proud in teal beside thornton and marleau? did shea weber ever really stop being a nashville predator? and what about beauvillier, horvat, compher, dumolin, burakovsky, kadri, yamamoto, hornqvist, eberle, o'rielly, barrie, jost, gaudreau, karlsson, carter and richards, martin, and so many others? even wayne gretzky himself went to three teams post trade, searching for that spark he had in edmonton after they made him leave. jagr had eight after pittsburgh. you are not crazy for grieving, in some small way, a player you lost. and they aren't crazy for feeling distraught either. these teams are family. and family is everything, even if it gets ripped apart so easily.

In case anyone was wondering, the people on Facebook are now back to kissing Mitch's ass and wanting Willy traded. Tune in after Willy's next good game to watch them inevitably change their minds again.

•Registering a Friend code•
Tumblr media
On ACNL you can both visit someone else’s town and they can visit yours. But before you visit someone else’s town and vice versa, each of you need to add the other’s “friend code” on to your “Friend list”. You can’t visit each other’s town until you do this, and any time you want to visit a different persons town you must register that persons friend code. Before I explain further about visiting towns, let me show you how to access your friend list.
Tumblr media
To access your friends list, you must go to your DS home page. This is the page that opens up when you switch on your DS. On the touch screen at the top, you will see different icons. The orange square icon with a face is your friend list. Here you can also find your own friend code that other people can add to their friends list
How to register a friend’s friend code
Before you invite someone to your town or you visit theirs you will need to register their friend code, as they will also need to register your on their friend list. Registering a code is very easy. If they don’t know their own friend code then show them this guide.
Visiting/inviting to a town is done through two ways: local or internet. Local just means connecting DS to DS with someone who is physically next to you. Internet means you can connect long distance, with anyone in the world. This is the option most people use.
To register a friend’s friend code, watch my video below. Once you have clicked on your friend list you will see on your touch screen “settings” and “register friend”. Click “register friend”, choose “internet” and then type in the other persons friend code (not your own).
If you have entered it correctly and your DS is connected to WIFI, it will register them to your friend list. And now you can invite them or visit this town! If you ever want to visit a different person’s town then you will have to repeat this process and add their friend code to your list. Like I said, it’s just like adding new people to a contact list on your phone.
If you want a guide on inviting/visiting another persons town, go to my index page to find the guide (coming soon)

didn't get to hear much from pierre himself during his time in toronto except for when he'd ensure to show up in all Leafs socials with his top off whenever possible like the absolute genius he is. Honestly so smart of him
this part of his Stockholm interview was interesting
turns out our pretty pretty fella is basically mindy kaling-- why not me??? you are So right you tall studly hunk
and anytime anyone talks about keefer I'm there i respect the hell outta that man. he did mention off the top of the interview that he likes the system the Islanders play so it's a great fit for him in NY now. But I'm glad he was able to share how it was working with sheldon. we always heard about how they wanted more out of Giraffe (affectionate) and there were frustrations. glad the trade was the right move for him. great dubas work!

i just feel that.. the way everyone was so liberally throwing around ‘we’re all in’ maybe we’d go a little more all in offensively? like i know in the past, the defense and goaltending has been the big complaint, but we’ve got an extremely deep blue line now and no real proven offensive skill toward the bottom should something happen up top?? IDK IDK, i think i was just ready for there to be another trade because holding onto boston’s first round pick and like. way too many dmen on a year you’re going ‘all in’ sounds incomplete to me.

happy new year!
a little recap of the past week:
- shampoodle!! got new hair instead of that weird default stuff lol
- upgraded to super t&t!
- the cafe is open!
- i was about to construct a new bridge, but then i changed my mind, so i lost 50,000 bells that i had already donated :P
- instead of, you know, celebrating the new year countdown normally, i did it in animal crossing. luckily the countdown my family was watching on tv was delayed so i was still able to do the 3 2 1 HAPPY NEW YEAR and all that jazz.
- speaking of changing my mind, i changed my mind about letting tammy move.... but now marcel's moving! so let me know if you want him! he's moving next week :)
