Hey! My (user)name is raccoon (no i'm not a furry) but y'all can call me whatever!

I want to keep this blog as a space that is open to people of all backgrounds, religions, and identities, so any hateful speech will get you blocked immediately.

About Me

Hey there, I'm Defiant. I hope this day finds you well.

This blog is a place I made because I was having a hard time processing my trauma, and I needed a place to put down my thoughts. As such, a lot of my posts will either be venting, or they will be me trying to put lessons I've learned into words.

A number of people have told me that my posts have helped them in their own journey, and I'm always so, so happy to hear that. Thank you always for your kind words, and please stay safe on the road ahead. Recovery isn't easy, but it is worth it.

Please keep in mind though that I'm by no means an authority on the matter. I'm just some guy talking about my life on the internet. I don't know you or your situation, and I can't give you any specific advice. I apologize.

Hello (again) tumblr book community!

My name is Rae, and this is my silly side blog for reviewing!

I've had this blog for two years now, and I figured it was time for a new introduction post.

As of lately, I am a slow mood reader, but I'm still trying to get my reviews out and form part of this community that has been so welcoming to me from the very start.

A Spoiler free introduction to Legacies

~About the illustrator and writer~

Hi, my main blog is @crystalsandbubbletea, but you can feel free to call me 'Crystals', 'Crystal', 'Bubble Tea', 'Bubble', 'Tea', and/or 'Rian'! I started working on Legacies when I was about fourteen. I originally planned on making it an AO3 series, until I realized that I loved drawing comics more than writing.

Now... Onto the information about Legacies

Legacies serves as an alternate history (And somewhat fanfiction as there are Demon Slayer elements in it-) in the first arc (The 'Shadows' Arc), then it eventually becomes what my sister describes as "A horrible Frankenstein mash-up of Demon Slayer, Red vs Blue and Halo with some RWBY-esque elements".

The protagonist of the first arc is Alex Adil Emre Yukime, a polyamorous nonbinary lesbian living in the Ottoman Empire during World War One. The protagonist of all the arcs after that is Berat Adil Emre Yukime, a nonbinary who's also polyamorous, trixic, demisexual, and demiromantic.

⚠️WARNING: Legacies covers triggering subjects such as war, genocide, queerphobia, ableism, racism, sexism, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, suicide, and sexual assault. I have based both protagonists experiences of queerphobia, suicide, ableism, and sexual assault off my own experiences. I will be sure to add trigger warnings to the chapters that contains any of the triggers.⚠️

NOTE: Legacies is also a Pro-Palestine series, so if you're anti-Palestine, this series is not for you. Issue 3 will largely revolve around Palestinian culture as well.

wait i need to talk about this cut scene from the pilot.

I really love this scene. I get why it was cut — it's sort of random and doesn't fit in the episode pacing-wise — but it does such a good job introducing the team and their characters. It literally tells us everything we need to know about all three of them.

Foreman is a little haughty. He's gone to top schools, has top opportunities, is impatient and ambitious and smart. When Chase doesn't know a medical term, he does immediately. He's been here three days and is Unimpressed by House. He's completely dismissive of Chase, but takes more of an interest in Cameron, asking how long she's worked here and what her specialty is, and seems a little offended on her behalf at her secretarial work.

Chase is lazy. He likes not having work to do, he's a flirt, he comes off as a little dim and apathetic. He's unimpressed by Foreman's humble bragging, and rather sarcastic. (This scene alone also completely clarifies Foreman's much later "fire Chase, he doesn't appreciate the job" rant to House.) He makes fun of both Foreman and Cameron. Twice he jumps into the conversation uninvited, first to share his specialty and then to explain Cameron's secretarial work.

Cameron is helpful. She is nice. She is… a little anal. No one asked her to answer House's mail, she does it because she can't stand to see it piled up and deleted. While Foreman is being Visibly Bored and impatient, and Chase is doing his crossword puzzle, she's actually working. She's unoffended by Chase's teasing, and — as she does much of the rest of the pilot — gives Foreman some exposition about how long she and Chase have been here.

In the pilot proper, we get quite a lot of exposition about Foreman — we learn his education and history and he's sort of our viewpoint character for House; he has by far the most scenes and lines of the team — and a bit on Cameron (and almost nothing about Chase). But this scene introduces them so perfectly. I love it so much.

TRANSCRIPT:

FOREMAN: I’ve been here for three days and I haven’t seen an actual patient. This is all we do? CHASE: [doing a crossword] Until the checks start bouncing. FOREMAN: So glad I passed up that neurology job at Sloan. So glad I was able to parlay a chief residency position to this — CHASE: So glad you’ve filled us in on your vaunted past. FOREMAN: My point was it doesn’t matter how smart the guy is if he’s just wasting our time. CHASE: Yeah. See, uh, you completely discounted the possibility that I’m here because it’s boring. I get to tell women I’m a doctor and I have time to actually date them. [beat] Nine letters. Iodine deficiency in children. FOREMAN: Cretinism. [to Cameron:] So, uh, how long have you been here, Cameron? CAMERON: Six months. Chase has been here a year. FOREMAN: What’s your specialty? [simultaneously] CAMERON: Immun — CHASE: Intens — CAMERON: Immunology. CHASE: Intensive care. FOREMAN: Is House abusive? A misogynist? Or just can’t afford a secretary? CHASE: He doesn’t need a secretary. FOREMAN: He’s got her answering his mail. CHASE: No, he doesn’t. FOREMAN: What are you doing? CAMERON: Answering his mail. FOREMAN: She’s answering his mail. CHASE: But he didn’t ask her to. CAMERON: He throws all of the requests for consults in the trash. I get them out and apologize that he’s too busy. [Foreman sighs loudly.]

Sonic the hedgehog has been dead over over 200 years, however decedents of his friends still exist and live out their normal lives.

Including the descendent of his little buddy Miles 'Tails' Prower named Techie Kaboom, a bat eared fox who has had a few accidents in his mechanic shop.

Sonic might be long gone, but his face, his story, and his image still exists in the far off future and often is used to advertise products in stores using holograms.

And one day, one of these holograms becomes sentient and for some reason think's it's the real Sonic, the one true Sonic and rewrites it's own code to give itself freedom.

But it can't move on it's own, no he can't and as luck would have it Techie was passing by the store this hologram found himself at, and with a silver tongue was able to convince Techie he was the real Sonic and he needed help.

Techie of course due to his ancestor loved Sonic, hearing nothing but good things about him throughout the generations decided to trust in him, he was his hero after all and Sonic wouldn't hurt him right?

Techie sneakfully took the holograms admitter and stuck it into his backpack, and the two managed to get out of the mall without much of a fuss and all seemed great at first Techie and Hologram as he nicknamed himself would talk and work together.

But this was all a ruse careful planning and manipulation done by the holographic hedgehog and one day an 'accident' happened in the mechanics building one that required Techie to get a heart transplant.

And once the surgery was complete and the pair was alone again, Hologram would admit his true colors in his own word's he would tell him his thoughts.

"I am the real Sonic, I can feel it, you can feel it... BUT your not Tails, your not my little buddy in the slightest however you can be! And thanks to your new heart I can help teach you."

"You see... I hate what has been done to my image, look at what they've done to me, they are treating a hero and his friends like cheap things to advertise their stores, and I won't stand for it anymore."

"We're gonna make them pay and hey 'pal' if you want us to bring a new legacy to the names of Sonic and Tails... You'll do as your told, unless you want to suffer the consequences."

Hologram had full control over Techie's eye, his arm and now his new heart he could kill the fox anytime he wanted now, and he would provide an example of that by shutting of Techies heart for about 10 seconds before restarting it.

And out of mostly fear but also a weird sense of loyalty to Sonic and the image of him he had always known about, Techie agrees to help him, Sonic wouldn't hurt him unless it was absolutely necessary right? So if He got hurt it would be because he messed up, at least thats what Techie had going thru his head.

Sonic was a hero, and if he did something it was for the greater good, this was Sonic it had to be, and he'd do what it takes to make him and his ancestor proud of him.

This is an Au about this story, as Techie Kaboom and Hologram Sonic bringing destruction in their wake, but not all familiar faces are gone, Silver The Hedgehog is around and protects his future from the threat of the pair.

But will Silver be able to protect the future? or will it all be brought down by one Hologram and his 'best buddy' only time will tell in the Hologram.Bin Au.

This au has technically existed since march of last year, but I'm glad to be able to finally share it all with you, and eventually write stories for it and show you what is in store for our antagonists and protagonist.
