Timmy's worked very hard to gain more successes than failures. The more successful he is, the greater his family's social standing!! And the less he gets to overhear his dad ranting to the neighborhood about his failures.

I love that the Chairmen are like the lameos of The Strip. Like it just says so much about how the Boot Riders were that they are just so fine being like Vegas cool guys.

Everyone at The Tops sans Benny is content, happy and fine with how things play out. They just like having food, women and something to do. Like occasionally they have to use some of their tribal warrior skills when threats like the Courier pop up but they are like if you took mountain lions and gave them a kitty spa day and now they refuse to leave.

Of course, the other families think they’re boring like one of them is literally eating bitches and The Tops just has the worst Wasteland’s Got Talent contestants as premiere acts.

Getting into DnD is the best thing I've done for myself socially, it's so silly in retrospect how I thought I'd never make new friends because I'm "too childish" - Adults need to play and be creative, too! I love world builing, making up characters, and playing out silly little stories with my friends :]

Today is Fallout New Vegas' birthday, and I'd like to repost my favorite headcanon/fan theory.

New Vegas has multiple endings, as many rpgs do. But which one is canon? Usually when Bethesda has chosen a canon Fallout ending when making a new game, they'll choose the "good" or least violent/selfish ending. Fallout 3 had the Lone Wanderer canonically save the capital wasteland and activate project purity, then helped the brotherhood defeat the Enclave. Similarly, the chosen one in Fallout 2 canonically defeated the west coast Enclave and helped the fledgling NCR establish itself. The Vault Dweller in Fallout 1 defeated the master and broke the super mutant army.

But what about New Vegas's canon ending?

I propose, just like with Bethesda's decision regarding Elder Scrolls 2, that ALL OF THEM are canon.

Not that they happened simultaneously like Elder Scrolls with its dragon break magic. But the situation presented in the game's narrative allows for all of them to happen in a specific sequence.

The Legion wins the battle of Hoover Dam. The NCR forces in the area are stretched too thin, too demoralized, and ill-equipped to fight the onslaught. The NCR soldiers are forced to pull out of the Mojave while the Legion marches further west.

Caesar is either dead shortly before the battle, or dies not long after. Either way, Lanius only held control of the Legion during its brief surge of bloodlust following the victory at Hoover Dam. With Caesar's cult of personality dead with him, the Legion begins to quickly fracture as it stalls its war against the NCR.

An angry and much more capable NCR army begins to easily push back the demoralized and chaotic Legion as it tears itself apart. Yet another battle is fought over Hoover Dam, which the NCR easily wins.

However, before the NCR can push beyond the dam, they are stopped by a massive force of upgraded securitrons. The courier, who had played such a large part in the events leading up to the previous battle, stands at the head of this technological army. They declare New Vegas an independent state. The NCR is free to move through the Mojave and continue their war, but they are not to encroach on Vegas itself.

Some inside the NCR speculate that the courier is not acting alone. They must be working with a benefactor who has a vested interest in New Vegas' independence and security. For now, the NCR will honor the courier's declaration.

This was sparked by another Golf is Evil post, but near Sydney’s city centre they’re proposing that the major golf course is cut from 18 holes to 9 holes because there’s a massive housing crisis and we need more room to build that isn’t 25 years outside of the city centre.

And channel 7 (or maybe 9, they’re the same shit) was interviewing these obviously rich assholes being like “but this is Australia’s biggest golf course. What we do without our extra 9 holes.” Meanwhile the rate of homelessness is at an all time high
