I have made posts on this blog in the past referencing a reddit community called r/nevergrewup, and they have this blog linked on their susubreddit. I would just like to clarify that I am not affiliated with r/nevergrewup and cannot promise to condone everything that subreddit supports. I've seen quite a lot of pro-trans-age posts on that subreddit recently, many of which state that being trans age is essentially similar to bring transgender. I think this is a damaging view of a complex mental issue that will only bring more stigma.

If you identify as trans age, I don't want you to feel unwelcome on this blog. I think age dysphoria is a confusing and distressing experience and it's understandable that some people try to deal with it by trying to live completely as a child. However this blog does not encourage age transition and is working towards a medical understanding/awareness of age dysphoria, the reason being that the very high prevalence of severe early life trauma in age dysphoric people leads me to believe this is not fundamentally a matter of identity or something present at birth.

It’s a term for someone who permaregresses! There are other terms I suppose; kidult, everkid, other ageweird terms etc.

But anyway it’s like age regression except it’s a permanent state of mind. I don’t ever really “regress” to a younger age, I just am mentally younger than my body all the time. For me this is caused by trauma and nuerodivergency. It’s hard to explain and hard to live with. I don’t relate to my peers or any adults for that matter very much. I struggle to function at the same level they do. I also have age dysphoria which is not necessarily related but for me it’s intertwined. It’s not all bad though, being a kid is fun mostly :)

I had this! It's funny because I normally hate beach sand, but the sand we put in this was ok. I liked to mae sand castles and then rinse myself off with the garden hose. I think I had it a few months before my mom sold it :(

Hi!! I hope it's okay to ask, but what is an everkid? I saw it in your bio and I didn't know what it was!!

It’s another term for people who feel age stunted or age weird. Feeling like you’re “forever a kid”, feeling young at heart, feeling age dysphoria. There are lots of different labels with similar meanings. That’s just one of the ones I relate the most with. For me the body develops at a different level than the brain. This is caused by trauma and neurodivergency in my case. I am a permaregressor so I am always at least somewhat younger than my body is perceived to be. I am aware of my adult status I just don’t connect or relate to it. I can still make adult decisions despite this. Feel free to check out the subreddit r/nevergrewup that was a good resource for me :)
