(Beta) Summary: Mel and Ken think they’re so damn slick, hiding that she’s human all these years. Sure would be a shame if Mud and Breadhead kinda already knew; because, as it turns out, they’re terrible fucking liars!

"Thought I told you we were closin' early tonight," he hissed to Mud as he approached. Mud waves him off as he lights a cigarette.

"Just a few errands," Ken reminds him, dropping the box on the keyboard. The clang of the keys gets everyone's attention as he straightens and sets an arm on Breadhead's shoulder. He grins, soaking in the affection. "It's fer you, kid. Gotcha a gift."

Breadhead blinked at the box, racking his memory. Papa always said they were religious "when it counted", and that usually included various Black Hand celebrations, but none were ringing any bells. "Did I miss a holiday?"

"Sure. Let's go with that." Ken's hand squeezes, a firm reminder not to dawdle on looking inside. Breadhead stared at it regardless, a gurgling sense of shame washing over him.

"Oh, papa," he crooned, eyes beginning to water. "I didn't get you nothin'!"

"It's fine, Breadhead," he grunts, on the verge of an emotional outburst. "Just open the damn thing."

It's very much not fine, but he doesn't want papa to be more upset. Breadhead takes a second to admire the wrappings- this was the good stuff, and it barely had any blood on it. Whatever this was, it was clear Ken had put a lot of thought into it, down to the pretty packaging.

Neva let out an exasperated sigh as yet another nightmarish creature formed from the darkness. Much to her surprise, however, this creature was not one of steel and oil, but rather more generic writhing tendrils of darkness. It held an axe made of the same, and blocked most of the path.

“Ah,” it rasped, in a wispy, echoing voice. “What a horrible night to-”

Neva interrupted the creature with an exaggerated yawn, to its apparent chagrin.

“What the…Miss, if you would please let me finish, thank you…And more importantly, you are supposed to be scared out of your mind right now!”

The nightmare gestured down to its monstrous form with its free hand.

“Hello, thing of living darkness, here!”

Again Neva yawned. “Hm? Oh, sorry, pal. Wasn’t trying to be rude. I’m just trying to get past…not that I think it’ll help me wake up - didn’t the first ten times. But, eh, you know.”

Neva stepped forward and around the nightmare. The creature itself did nothing to stop her, confused as it was, but the human impacted against some sort of invisible barrier when she tried to walk around, much to her annoyance.

“Ugh. C’mon. There is clearly room, here!”

“Am I boring you?”

Neva stared down the nightmare, an impressive feat considering she was much shorter. “Yes, actually. What of it?”

“Mmm…Master Ashiok won’t be pleased.”

Neva began to ask about the dropped name, but soon shrugged with indifference. “With any…un-luck…I’ll probably be back this way again. So, you’ll have plenty of time to work on some new, er, material?”

Ooo Yuno x Noelle and Yuno x Mimosa 👀? Let’s see, I guess I’ll start with Yuno x Mimosa since I have some pretty strong…feelings about them 🤔! Friendly reminder that these are just MY opinions!

I’m going to preface this by saying if you ship Yuno x Mimosa then good for you, I’m glad you enjoy them, and I support you in loving them 🥰!

So actually I used to not mind the ship! I used to think it was cute and I could see why people shipped them even if I didn’t, and I used to think “eh if they get together in canon I’ll support it!”.

Well two things changed my mind, I’ll show them below:

Now you guys might think I’m a little…dramatic because “why should two comments make you dislike a ship?”. Firstly) I recieved these comments at a pretty bad time. Secondly) These were left under the COTF Chapter titled “Miku” which is where Yuno and my OC Neva meet their future daughter. Thirdly) These comments didn’t need to be left. At all.

Now I know not all shippers are like this! I know there are a lot that are very sweet and kind 🥰, but these two comments really rubbed me the wrong way, and the people who commented them just…shouldn’t have commented at all. Because these comments (along with a few others but they had nothing to do with Yuno x Mimosa) upset me so much they actually made me stop writing about Neva and YuNeva for a while.

So overall with Yuno x Mimosa, I don’t think they’re a bad ship and would support it if it became canon, I just no longer like them. Because anytime I see them I think of these comments and I get upset, so I avoid anything and everything with them in it. Which is fine! And if you enjoy them then I support you 😁!

Now onto Yuno x Noelle!

Hm I'm so-so about the ship, I can see why/where people ship them and why they like the ship. But I don't really see it, because I feel like they would bicker all the time 😆 (Yes I'm an Astelle shipper but I sometimes enjoy seeing other ships too!).

Now that doesn't mean they couldn't eventually get close romantically, I just think it would take some time and work for them! And sometimes that hard work and time can make a relationship stronger and better 🥰!

Overall I don't have many thoughts about Yuno x Noelle, I think they could work, and they aren't one of my favorite ships, but if you like them then I support you 🥰!

so, right as i was finishing up the last episode of dragon ball daima, my mom messaged me to get dressed and then we went and ate mexican together. here are my thoughts on the last episode of daima, as well as the series in general!

so, the first half or so of the episode was very fight focused, and most of that was just alright (which is to say, the worst part of a really good episode). i still love the animation and visual effects, and i really loved the scene where goku's kamehameha not only punched a hole in gomah but also went through the sky/ground of all three demon worlds, that was legit so fucking cool. i kinda wish piccolo got his moment At Any Point during this series, but if it had to be anyone else i'm glad that it was majin kuu that defeated gomah, i'm on the record as a kuu appreciator. also, that moment where the fight ended and glorio just stomped on the tertian oculus and it made a meek little squish sound, that was really good comedy, made me laugh out loud

all the character driven stuff after that was fucking great!!! i loved how kuu was named as demon king, my boy's moving up in the world and i like how it seems he'd be a genuinely good king! i also like how basically all of the side characters, including arinsu, got nepotism'd into positions of power, that bit felt a bit like the end of the wizard of oz and everyone got what they were looking for except Not Bullshit. i also love how everyone else clocked that arinsu wasn't exactly as evil as she let on and figured she'd be good as long as she was kept in check! i love evil women so i've loved arinsu this entire time so it's nice to see her get probably the best ending she could've hoped for.

i loved the scene of them preparing to leave, especially where pansy grabbed vegeta's arm and made him wave with it, that was good visual comedy. i also liked how it was heavily implied that goku's ssj4 transformation wasn't an asspull gift from neva but was instead something he earned off camera like vegeta's ssj3, implying that the only thing neva did was revive goku (like we saw dende do on namek!!!). i really liked the little credits slideshow thing, and especially what came after. i just sincerely, wholeheartedly love the gag that this all powerful world conquering mcguffin was apparently just bought in a fucking backwater convenience store, i love that little added detail. i kinda wish they went somewhere with the fusion bugs but eh, that's not that big a deal, i liked how the first half a dozen or so episodes were mostly just worldbuilding

i once heard somebody describe dragon ball daima as a show for people who love to update wikis. it was meant as a pejorative, but as somebody who's currently writing an ingame wiki about the lore for my game, you can probably guess where i stand on that. i loved all the little bits of lore and worldbuilding in daima, and while i know that's not everyone's cup of tea it's definitely mine. i do definitely think the first half of the show was where it was at its strongest, all the little bits with the gang interacting with the demon world's normal people, some kinda weird mix between slice of life and adventure at times. hell, the earlier fights were definitely the best ones, especially against the tamagamis. to be honest, i love the show in its entirety and respect the fact that it knew where to end. i somehow doubt we're gonna get a dragon balll daima season 2, the name felt very distinct to what would be this specific arc and the ending felt very final, at least to the demon world. i'm sure we're gonna be getting more dragon ball in the future, but this felt like a very good thing to be toriyama's last project involved in dragon ball. was it the best it could've been? probably not. but by the standards of dragon ball, the writing was pretty good and the animation was gorgeous. all in all, i would recommend watching if you're a dragon ball fan!
