Attention Dragonkin folks!

Egg. My egg. Look at my egg! I had this cardboard egg I bought for a project years ago, and suddenly had the urge to paint it like a realistic egg.

Dragon brain is very happy rn, just wanna snuggle in my nest with my little egg. Might do that later.

It's kinda weird; I've never wanted kids, even before I awakened as dragonkin. At the same time, the feeling of holding my egg and keeping it warm until it can 'hatch' just feels right. I've seen other dragonkins talk about wanting hatchlings but not human children, so I know I'm not alone in this feeling. Still, it's a little different. A good different though.

Hello friends who nest!

Whether you're kin, a regressor, or miscecanis, you might be affected by what I call the nesting season, and want to nest all the time! 🪹

So I decided to make a little post about stuff I like in my nest to maybe give some of you ideas or just some comfiness reading it, because nesting is taking up like 80% of my brain right now- 💚

My essentials are: 🪹 Blankets (the fluffier the better) 🪹 Plenty of pillows 🪹 A tons of plushies 🪹 Orange essential oil on the stuffs 🪹 A cedar or orange candle/incense 🪹 A cosy drink (like coffee with some cinnamon) 🪹 A cosy show or podcast 🪹 Some snacks! (nuts for my crow brain, sweet things for the omega cravings, and sometimes some other stuff personally)

I also like to kidnap my partner in it, but that's not always possible 🥺😞 Please feel free to add on with your nesting essentials! ☕️

i woke up to the best experience ever omggg... my room can get kinda hot at night because i sleep with my door closed and with lots of blankets so a cracked my window open a lil to let the breeze in.

then when i woke up this morning it was to my dark room, birds chirping, the only light source coming from my window, the cool breeze coming in and my super duper soft blankie i fear i may never experience this euphoria again!!! i really really felt like i was in a little cozy den!!!!

so, the misceverse community is incredibly based around miscanis cuz yknow omegaverse being based on the theory of wolf heirachies. and i dont often see non-miscecanis 'verses so as an elk therian, im thinking about worldbuilding on a 'verse based around elk. i only so far have bulls (the alpha equivalent), stags (beta equivalent), and does/cows (interchangable, i like the word doe better but i Know rhat female elk are called cows) (omega equivalent.) id identify myself as an alpha in other areas, and i fit my idea of bulls, so it feels euphoric to refer to myself as such, because my elk theriotype neomata doesnt really include any sex or gender characteristics anyhow

id love to see other elk therians or other elk 'verses own experiences with this

Nest timeline!

This is a little idea that I had for a couple of years now, and I promised myself that would do it once I moved out since it’s been a month since doing so, it’s about time I get it together!

14/12/22: Ah, creature’s first nest. I was doing for a bit prior to this photo but I was rather proud of this set up in particular, little did I know it was just the beginning…

27/8/23 + 3/9/23: I got rid of the purple jacket underneath, as you can see the first one is still messy and vaguely nest shaped while the second is still a little sloppy but a bit more nest shaped than the previous attempt

29/9/23 + 2/10/23 + 21/11/23 + 4/12/23: I really upped my nesting game with this! I placed a cute pastel knitted quilt underneath giving a really cutesy vibe and the progression from a sloppy nest shape to a full even nest wall is very apparent and I’m so proud of how far I’ve come <3

11/12/23: I went to stay with my Nana and I tried to make do without my awesome comfy nest

22/12/23: Then I came back to tragedy that required serious emergency wash because the stupid cat puke on my bed 😭

25/21/23: Thankfully everything was washed by the time Christmas Day

27/12/23: Due to that event, I made the precautions to ensure that my nest was well protected while I went to stay with my Nana again :/

18/1/24 + 25/12/24: I returned with a new blanket that I decided to use as a cover to against protect my precious nest

28/2/24: My nest was finally back to its even walled glory ft. Before blanket cover and after blanket cover :3

29/3/24: A month later…

6/8/24: More mess than nest with this one and the the massive gap is the simple fact that I fell into a weird state where I neglected to do maintenance on my nest because my brain was too focus on just getting through the day and waiting for the Parentals to give me a concrete date after changing it twice. Also at this time I just ordered a bed tent and I was waiting for that to arrive before I assemble a proper nest.

27/8/24: AND VOLA! My glorious new nest inside a bed tent! I going to order some fairy lights to give it a more cozy vibe. I am so happy that I finally have the mental and physical space for myself now that I inhabit a low strung environment VwV

Some of us having a nesting instinct is so strange but also a bit frustrating- we really want to make a soft cozy place to rest and sleep, but we have no where to do it besides our bed and even then our mother will change it up again to make it neat and presentable without telling us
